If it matters to our community, we're talking about it. In the next few minutes, we'll cover today's weather, what's happening around town, school, sports and activities, school, city council, police, fire, church community, and local business news.

Grab your coffee, get ready for the day, and let's start with today's forecast. Cold start to the morning, currently 33 here at the studio, and clear, slightly colder.
If you live outside of town. Humidity is low, but it wouldn't hurt to give yourself just that [00:01:00] extra minute just in case there's a tiny bit of frost on your windshield this morning. Later today, sunny with a high near 52 clear skies, west Wind, eight to 11 miles per hour, becoming Southwest in the afternoon tonight, mostly clear with the low back down around 30 Southwest winds, five to eight miles an hour becoming calm as the evening progresses.
Our Jacks had the night off last night, so there's no sports course to update, but we'll be back with you tomorrow morning on sports. If you're looking for a reason to celebrate today is wear hat day. Right who doesn't love a good hat? It's also a national solitude day for all of you who need a little bit of space and a little bit of quiet in your day.
And if nothing else, it's make up your own holiday day. Your boss might not recognize the holiday you created, but you can be on a holiday in your mind all you want. It's your day. So make up your own holiday today. Today around town. The [00:02:00] Quincy Senior Center has an exercise class today at 1:00 PM and P knuckle at 3:00 PM They also play Mexican train at 6:30 PM after dinner tonight, and you'll find the menu over on our site.
Welcome to Quincy wall.com. In the notes section, the Quincy Rotary Club will be meeting at 1210 today, just outside of the Jackson Restaurant at Quincy Market, located at 10 0 4 F Street Southwest. Get ready for fun with Steam by Quincy's Library today at 12 o'clock. From 12 to four school's out early, no big deal.
We she covered. Skip the boredom Head straight to the library for fun. With Steam, the library transforms into a creative playground where imaginations run wild build tower. Tower creations with Legos, engineer masterpieces with Kevin Planks. Explore a variety of other hands-on building toys. Whether you drop him for a few minutes or stay the whole afternoon, you'll find an endless way to play, create, and discover.
Perfect [00:03:00] for kids of all ages, looking to make the most out of their early release today. There's also an American Red Cross First Aid and CAPR training to obtain adult and pediatric certification on Thursday, March 26th. That's today from five 30 to 8:30 PM. Learn lifesaving saving skills from training instructors.
This is a blended learning course. Participants must complete some online work before the class. Uh, on the 26th, all class materials will be provided. Space is limited to 10 participants. And to put that smile on your face this morning, it's time for your daily bad joke. Did you hear about the broken guitar?

in upcoming events. The Quincy Valley Tourism Group is happy to announce the 17th annual trout [00:04:00] fishing derby on March 27th and 28th that starts tomorrow. Prices are given out for youth and adult divisions. Registration is available online. You can no longer register at QHL. Come get your fishing on and enjoy a little friendly competition over the next couple days and have some fun.
The Quincy Rec Department would like to announce several upcoming events for your little ones. There's the Tiny Talks Soccer Camp from Monday to Wednesday, March 30th through April 2nd from three to 4:00 PM cost $15 per child for children's ages three to five for youth ages 11 through 16. There's a Red Cross Babysitter training course on March 30th, April 1st and third from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily.
Cost is $60 per person for that class. And stay tuned for information on [00:05:00] Easter weekend festivities coming up soon. There's a lot of them. We're working on pulling together the full list for the website so that way you know all the options you have for Easter weekend. Here's a quick reminder if you've somehow missed it.
It is spring conferences this week, and the students are only in half days currently right now. We'll be through the end of the week, so please be aware when you're out moving around the afternoons that the kids are out, there are more young people out and about and on the roads during the afternoons.
Before we jump into Quincy Jack's life, we're gonna cover city administration news and announcements, and then we'll jump into Jack Sports and events in school news during the conference week this week. Be sure to check out your child's elementary school library participants participate in the Schoolastic book Fair.
Each school's library gets a portion of the proceeds from the book fair. So get you ready to support your schools. Pick up some great read books for your young readers and support our schools. [00:06:00] Washington Fed Needs your help. Help us by participating and nominating one lucky teacher. That's right, they have a nice little prize for one lucky teacher, and it's up in the air.
Anyone can participate. It's fun and it's easy, and it's a great way to say thank you to all your wonderful teachers out there. Simply nominated a teacher by sharing their name, school grade, and why that teacher is so amazing. Share this out with your friends. All of our Quincy Elementary School parent volunteer committees are teaming up to sell Seattle Sounders tickets. And it's super easy to support. Every ticket sold helps our schools.
All proceeds are split split between the PVC groups to benefit Quincy Elementary Schools as a whole. Mark your calendars. 2026 Quincy FFA Plant sale is happening on April 30th.
And May 1st from three 15 to 5:00 PM and on May 2nd from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM cash. Your checks only. Hope to see you there.
