Speaker: [00:00:00] Good morning, Quincy. Today is Monday, March 30th, 2026, and welcome to the first day of Spring Break. This is your daily local update for Quincy George Winchester, Crescent Bar, Sunland States, all of the 9 8 8 4 8. If it matters to our community, we're talking about it. In the next few minutes, we'll cover today's weather, what's happening around town, school, sports, and activities.

School, city council, police, fire, church community, and local business news. Whether you're heading to work or off for the week, getting the kids ready to go out the door to whoever is hanging out with them while you're at work today or just easing into your day or. We're here to help you stay connected with what's going on in your community.

Grab your coffee, get ready for your day, and let's start with today's forecast. Starting off cold this morning. Currently 34 here at [00:01:00] the studio with a quote unquote feels like temperature. Of 25. Wow. It's a little chilly this morning guys. It's low humidity. So frost on the windshield is doubtful, but it is Quincy and the 9 8 8 4 8 area.

So let's face it, it's still possible. So give yourself just that extra minute or two to double check that you don't need to defrost your car this morning, sunny later today with a high near 50 Northwest winds five to 14 miles per hour, becoming south in the afternoon. Wind S goes as high as 22 miles an hour today, but that's just the 9 8 8 4 8 tonight, partly cloudy with a low around 30 East winds at five miles an hour are becoming light and variable throughout the night.

Here's our Jack Sports recap for the weekend, and it was a busy weekend here for our jacks. On Friday, our Jacks JB baseball [00:02:00] team won a game and lost a game against East Valley High School. Our Jacks C soccer team won against Wenatchee High School with a score of two to one, and our Jacks JB soccer team won with a score of three zero against RA Long High School.

Our Jacks varsity soccer team lost two to one against RA Long high school. On Saturday, our Lady Jacks dance team placed third in the state competition. Amazing work. Ladies. You guys have been working hard this season. Go Jack.

Our jacks and our Lady Jacks tennis team lost four to one against Othello Jacks Varsity baseball lost to East Valley High School in Yakima. Our Jacks, JV and varsity soccer teams lost in Hoon High School. Brush Perrys as well. It's still early in the spring season. Work hard. Jacks. Keep fighting for those winds.

You can do it. Go jacks.[00:03:00]

If you're looking for a reason, celebrate today is national. Take a walk in the park day. That's right. We got a lot of beautiful parks around the 9, 8, 4 8. Whether you're looking at some of our city parks or whether some of our county or state parks, we have some beautiful parks to walk in. So take a minute today, get outside and take a walk in the park.

Ando National Pencil Day. And I'm curious in the comment section, guys, do you actually still use pencils in your household? I was thinking about it. I don't have a single pencil on my desk, no matter, I look all over my studio. I don't have a single pencil in here. The only pencils I know about in my house are my daughter, because my daughters like to draw, and so they have pencils all over and there are supplies.

I don't actually have pencils. So do you still use a pencil? This is your question here for National Pencil day, do you still use pencils? Have you converted completely to. Pens. Just curious. [00:04:00] Not a big deal. Just one of those oddities that struck me when I read it today Around town. The Quincy Senior Center has coffee hour today at 10:00 AM They got line Nancy at 1:00 PM and they host Bridge today at two 15.

If you'd like to know the menu for each day, we have it posted on our website at Welcome to quincy wall.com in the note section daily. The Red Cross, I believe, actually offers a babysitting certification in which the kids learn things like CPR, infant, CPR first Aid and the important things like that. Uh, just make it safer for your kids to babysit and to make it more likely for you to get that babysitting gig if that's something you're doing as a young person.

The class costs $60 per person and is a great opportunity for young people who are looking to do some babysitting for today's daily bad [00:07:00] joke. I handpicked this one out for you guys, so it's all my fault if you don't like it. But let's face it, everybody should start their day with a smart oh and a little bit of a chuckle, and we try and do our part here at the Good Morning, Quincy Wild newscast to put a little smile on your face every morning.

So. Where do lizards go when their tails fall off

to a retail store?

Hey, we posted our Easter weekend and the 9 8 8 4 8 events listing over at. Welcome [00:10:00] to quincy wall.com over the weekend, if you're looking for Easter egg hunts, Easter parties, our Easter Sunday events, check it out. And if you're hosting an Easter event or a special service, please check it out as well.

Make sure that we found your event. And the details are correct. We did our very best. We scanned a whole lot of Quincy information to try and make sure we got all of them, but I know we could possibly miss some or some got through the cracks and we just didn't see it. If you know of one that's open to the community and is not on the list, or the details of one on the list are wrong or missing something like we couldn't find a time for the Moose Club Easter Egg hunt times.

Please email us directly at info@thefallibleman.com so we can add it or update the listing appropriately so people are aware. We want to get that information out there so that you can have the most fun and a safe and happy Easter weekend with your friends and family. So please info email us at info@thefallibleman.com after you check that listing in case we [00:11:00] missed anything and you know something we don't.

We'd love to update that for the whole community. And that's over. Welcome to quincy wa.com. Before we jump into upcoming Quincy Jacks life, we're gonna cover city admin news and announcements, and then jump into Quincy Jacks sports and events In city offices, there's not a lot going on this week. This is one of those rare week months where there are five weeks technically in the month, and most meetings are either on the first and third week of the month or the second or fourth week of the month.

And so it's gonna be a pretty quiet week in city office news, although if anything comes up, we will let you guys know in school news. Hey, like I said, it's spring break, so be aware our kids are gonna be out and about this week, having some fun, relaxing, and hopefully enjoying their week Office school.

Please be aware, not only are there more kids out, but Crescent Bar tends to turn into Spring Break Central for the area. So there will be an uptick of traffic [00:12:00] around Crescent Bar and people coming up from Crescent Bar to grab supplies and stuff like that that they can't get down in Crescent Bar.

Please be aware of the extra traffic going on this week during spring break, and be safe out there on the roads and enjoy your spring break if this is you. Y'all ready for this?

This week in Jack Sports and Events? Our Quincy Jacks varsity golf team placed an tournament today in Yakima and on Tuesday in Ellensburg. Our Jacks varsity, JV and C soccer teams play Grandview High School at Quincy High School's, Jack Rabbit Field on Tuesday. And our Jackson Lady Jacks JV and varsity tennis team compete against Ellensburg High School also on Tuesday.

Go Jack.
