Little cooler this morning. Currently 47 here at the studio, varying just a few degrees around the 9, 8, 8, 4 8. Today we expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 64 northwest wind, nine to [00:01:00] 14 miles per hour tonight, partly cloudy with a low at around 40 with north winds around 10 to 13 with some gust possible.

in your Jack Sports Recap. For middle school Lady Jack's seventh grade softball team played against Endeavor Middle School. That was actually rained out, so that didn't happen. Our Lady Jack's eighth grade softball team played and lost at Foothills Middle School at the Wenatchee High School girls softball field.
Our Jack's seventh grade team soccer team played and won against Frontier Middle School from Moses Lake. At the Quincy Middle School and our Jacks eighth grade soccer team also played Frontier and Tide for high school sports. Our Jackson Lady Jacks varsity track team competed against East Valley High in Yakima.
Uh, we haven't heard the results of that, but we'll try and cover that tomorrow as, and our Jacks JV baseball [00:02:00] team faced off and won against rival, afraid of high school in a home game. Go Jack.
If you're looking for a reason to celebrate today is National Talk. Like Shakespeare Day. It's also National Log Dog Lost Dog Awareness Day, and National Cherry Cheesecake Day. So I guess speak some obnoxious old English, maybe read a sonnet swing by the Quincy Animal Shelter Facebook page and see if we can get some of the lovely dogs that are being sheltered there home to the families they belong with.
We would really appreciate it if you would actually swing by their Facebook page. We have a lot of dogs in our community that have gotten lost recently, and we're trying to get 'em home to their families. Help the neighbor out. Go by, see if you recognize the dogs. Let's get 'em back to the families they love.
And then grab a slice of cherry cheesecake for being a good person and doing nice things for people, like helping find lost dogs. [00:03:00] All while talking in obnoxious old English today around town. The Quincy Senior Center has an exercise class today at 1:00 PM and peanut ILE at 3:00 PM They also play Mexican train at six 30 right after dinner.
And if you're looking for the dinner menu, it will be on the welcome to Quincy wall.com note section As it is every day the Quincy Rotary Club will be meeting at 1210 today. Just out the jet side of the Jacks restaurant at Quincy Market, we're super. Excited to celebrate and announce Monkey Around Pizza will reopen today.
That's right after their unfortunate incident with some burst pipes last week and having to shut down in business. Lunch starts at 11 today and they could really use some love having after having to shut down for repairs for almost two weeks. Support local restaurants and businesses. Whether you're grabbing a slice, a full pie, or burger monkey around pizza, has your next meal made fresh?

Get ready for giggles, wiggles, and creative fun at the Quincy Public Library. Today is preschool story time at 10:00 AM It's perfect for kids age two to six, and of course, they're grownups.
Each session includes joyful stories, silly songs, movement, fun and fun, coloring or craft activity that wraps it up. It's a perfect way to spark imagination and build early literacy skills all while having a blast. No registrations needed. Just come ready to play, learn, and Create. Today is the last day to register for the fifth Annual Pivot Classic at the Clock Ridge Golf Course.
It's a two person best ball tournament being held on Saturday the 25th. You can still get your team registered today. You can email golf@portofquincy.org for a form. Or I'm pretty sure you could find it on Facebook as well. If you'd like to make this [00:05:00] best ball tournament, the Quincy Valley LA Arts is proud to present Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat at the Quincy High School Performing Arts Center today, April 24th at 7:30 PM to purchase tickets.

In upcoming events, expression Dance Studio will be competing in nationals in Las Vegas in the end of June. We normally don't think to announce things out that far out because there's just so much going on. But in the meantime, this week, they need your help. Voting started on April 20th for another competition they're on, and it's a video of one of their performance that's competing in a program called Star Quest 2026 Viral Video Competition.
And Quincy, they need your votes. If you live in our region in the 9 8 8 4 8, and you have a kid in dance, or even if you don't have a kid in dance, let's support our local dance studios. If you're looking for a summer gig, the gorgeous hiring for 2026, they have security positions and event staff positions open for ages 18 and up. They have campground ticket take open for 16 and up.
You can head out to their job fair on May 1st from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM to learn more on Friday the 24th from seven to 10 at the gate and Kitchen Creations at 9 0 5 E Street. There's a free food tasting and live music with La Parra Radio this weekend. Shaping up to be a busy week weekend around the 9 8 8 4 8.
Saturday the 25th is the Southern Women's Show from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There'll be wine tasting, and the show is sponsored by Dmitri's Bloody Mary's and Margaritas this weekend down at the Riverside Restaurant and Store. Friday the 24th is karaoke night from seven to 9:00 PM Saturday the 25th. Live music with Josh [00:08:00] Piper and Sunday the 26th, or live music with Sammy Steele from five to seven.
Quincy Valley Allied Arts will be presenting more shows. Not only is there the show tonight, there's also a show on Friday, April 24th at seven 30 and a matinee on Saturday the 25th at 2:00 PM The Crescent Bar Boat Show is Saturday the 25th from 10 to 5:00 PM at the Sunfire Grill parking lot. They're excited to be partnering with.
The Greater Crescent Bar Association and several vendors to bring together this event for another great year. Come check out a wide variety of boats, talk with the team and kick off the season with them. And for the kiddos this weekend, we've got the first annual kids in Kite Festival in Lozier Park on Saturday, April 25th from 11 to three, there's free kites for the first 200 kids, ages 10 and under to attend, and it's gonna be a great time.
There's gonna be music. Vendors and all kinds of things to do. I believe there's a [00:09:00] professional kite stunt team coming to do an ex uh, exhibition as well. It's gonna be a good weekend around the 9 8 8 4 8. Don't forget the paving project. It's hard to forget if you do drive across I 90. The paving project has started east of the Vanish bridge and will continue to run all through the nights all week long.
Starting at 7:00 PM and finishing at 6:00 AM Monday through Friday Each week, uh, travelers are advised to reduce speed. Of course, finds increase in construction zones, but we also want to keep those guys safe. But do understand it will be single lane traffic at night going across that area. It's an 11 mile stretch from the Vanish bridge all the way up towards George.

This Saturday the 25th is the city of Quincy Spring cleanup day from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM the city yard. Next to the public services building on First Ave Southwest and Division Street. You can dispose of household refuge items, scrap metal appliances for a $10 fee, and clear out some of that junk that's been building out through the winter around your house and yard.
Lions Club is also having their electronics recycling drop off there. That we've been announcing [00:11:00] for the last few days where you can drop off those old electronics. This is a great opportunity to spring clean your place a little bit this weekend and make some room. Uh, it's also a great way to start the spring, clean out some of that excess junk that's been sitting around your house.
It makes you feel good. The City of Quincy would also like you to mark your calendars for the medication take back event on Friday, April 24th. From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM held at the Quincy Police Department. They're partnering with the Quincy Partnership for Youth to put on this event. There will be free locking medication bags and boxes and Narcan training.
Refreshments will be provided while supplies last in school. News for parents on April 29th from six to 7:30 PM at the Quincy Middle School. The Quincy School District will be presenting an event titled Raising Safe Digital Kids. Parenting strategies for online safety. I think I got that in one breath.
Kids are growing up in a digital world that's changing quickly [00:12:00] every day. Especially with our world embracing ai. Many parents aren't sure what kids are seeing online or even how to keep the safe because they're having trouble keeping up themselves, which is a legitimate issue right now. This event is for parents of any age who are invited to learn how to protect your child, ask questions, and be part of the conversation with local experts to help you.
Also mark your calendars for the 2026 Quincy FFA Plant Sale is happening on April 30th and May 1st from three 15 to 5:00 PM on May 2nd from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Casher checks only hopes. You guys there Plan to attend the back, the Jacks Auction and Dinner Friday May 1st at 5:00 PM at the Quincy Business and Event Center.
Come support Jacks with the Booster's fundraiser. This is an annual event. Everybody has a good time and it helps to fund a lot of the things that are going on in our school. Y'all ready for this[00:13:00]
this week in Jack Sports and Events? Nikko is seventh and eighth grade track and field team compete at Quincy Middle School at three 30 versus Endeavor. The Lady Jack's JB and varsity softball teams play in Prosser and the Jacks varsity JB NC teams all play East Valley High in Yakima. Friday, the Jacks JV baseball teams play at Sila.
