in your Jack Sports recap. Our middle school teams had the day off yesterday. And in high school news, rough night yesterday, art Jacks and Lady Jacks teams all suffered losses in game games. Played. Keep working on it. Jax, you'll get 'em next time.

If you're looking for a reason to celebrate today is International Denim Day and it's also International Dance Day and International Guide Dog Day. Now, I don't have a guide dog, so I'm not sure I can do much about that, but. With it being Denim Day and International Dance Day, I can say that you have a chance to throw on your favorite pair of jeans and go out to the city of George Line Dancing Lessons for [00:02:00] Beginners.

That's offered Wednesday evenings from six to 7:30 PM at the George Community Hall and celebrate both dance and denim. It's kind of a win-win today around Pound at the Senior Center Bridges at 12:30 PM for Crafters. There's a chat and stitch at 1:00 PM. And the lunch menu is posted on the notes section over the Welcome to Quincy wall.com website.

As always tonight, gather a group of friends and have a great time learning something new. Head out to the city of George. They're hosting line Dancing Lessons for Beginners at the George Community Hall this evening from six to 7:30 PM for $10 each lesson. Like I said, slap on that favorite pair of jeans.

It's International Dance Day is also $6 sushi rolls at Aikens. And I'm loving that. Maybe you are too. Shout out in the comments if you're enjoying the new sushi rolls out at Aikens. They'll have in-person registrations and also have some. Someone each day to answer any questions you may have. [00:05:00] Open tryouts will be May 11th through the 19th at five 30 to 7:00 PM at Loeser Park in church News. Faith Community Church has youth group tonight at 6:30 PM open to all sixth through 12th graders, junior high and high schoolers gathered to spend time with friends each together and hear the word and play some awesome games.

St. Paul Lutheran Church offers an after school program every Wednesday on school days from after school until five 30. You can find the registration form on Facebook or visit their office. Their youth group is always welcoming young persons from sixth through 12th grades, starting with dinner at five 30, followed by youth activities in Bible until 7 45 on Wednesdays as well For the younger grades, the First Baptist Church hosts Wanis for grades kindergarten through sixth grade at 6:00 PM It's a Bible club similar to Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts.

With the goal of obtaining more in depth knowledge about the Bible. In safety announcements. Just a reminder, the paving project is ongoing on I 90 from Vantage to George Contractors for [00:06:00] Washington Department of Transportation will work primarily at night from 7:00 PM to 6:00 PM and it will be down to single lanes of traffic in both directions Monday through Friday, each week through August.

So please be aware and alter your travel plans to account for a little extra time. In City News, early bird season passes for Quincy's New Aquatic Center are available at a 15% discount through April 30th.

So this is the last week. To get your discount, come enjoy the brand new facility when they open. Buy your pass, scan your member card and come in and swim and have a great time. The Quincy Recreation Department is accepting applications for lifeguards and swim instructors for the new aquatic center.

Training is available. Applicants must 15 years or older to apply. [00:07:00] Apply today and be part of something exciting from day one. If you're looking for a furry friend, stop by the animal shelter.

You may just find that perfect friend. Our family dog came from there and it's been an amazing part of our family. They also ask that you check their Facebook page and help them get some of our lost animals back to their families as well in school news. The kindergartners at Monument are looking for shoe boxes for a project.

Will be grateful if you could donate any you have. You can send them to school with your student or call the school office if you have some and you don't have a student there for parents. Tonight from six to 7:30 PM at the Quincy Middle School, the Quincy School District will be presenting an event titled, raising Safe Digital Kids Parents.

Strategies for Online Safety. Kids are growing up in a digital [00:08:00] world that's changing quickly. Many parents aren't sure what kids are seeing online or how to keep them safe. This event is for parents for of any age who are invited to learn how to protect your child. Ask questions, and be a part of the conversation with local experts.

There will be childcare and a light dinner provided also for parents. Get Ready for Ready for kinder event hosted by Pioneer Elementary. Ready for kindergarten provides brief, age-based parent workshops with take home material and simple activities to help build children's early learning skills. 2026 workshop dates in English are Tuesday, May 5th, Thursday, May 14th, and Tuesday May 19th.

All classes are from five to 6:30 PM in the library. At Pioneer Elementary, children must be three to four years old for parents to register for the workshop. The 2026 Quincy FFA plant cell is happening on Thursday, April 30th, Friday May 1st from three 15 to 5:00 PM and on Saturday May 2nd from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM caster checks only.

today in Jack Sports News? Our middle school, the Lady Jack's seventh grade softball team plays against Columbia Middle School for most Lake at 4:00 PM. Lady Jack's eighth grade softball team plays against Columbia Middle School fors at 5:45 PM Our Jack seventh grade soccer team faces off against Pioneer Middle School at 4:00 PM and our Jack's eighth grade soccer team faces off Against Pioneer Middle School at five 15 for our high school sports.

Today our coa Unified soccer team plays at Jack Rabbit Soccer Field against Freida at 5:00 PM come support the Jacks. Tomorrow our middle school co-ed seventh and eighth grade track and field team competes in Pcha against Icicle River Middle School, shale Middle School, and Pioneer Middle School and for high school tomorrow.

Our Jackson Lady Jacks track and field team compete in Quincy against Grandview High School and [00:11:00] Sila at 3:30 PM Our Jack's JV baseball team also plays at home at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM against Grandview. Our Lady Jacks softball team competes in Quincy against Oma High School at three 30 and at five. And our Jacks and Lady Jacks tennis team play in Quincy starting at 4:00 PM against top.
