For the first time ever, The Cast List welcomes two guests onto the show! RJ and Patrick interview Adelyn Chambers and Kennedy Parrott, who just recently closed out their runs playing Junie B Jones in "Junie B's Essential Survival Guide To School."

SPEAKER_00

The new cast list is up in five, four, three, two, one.

SPEAKER_05

Welcome back to the cast list.

SPEAKER_04

Look at us go.

SPEAKER_05

That's RJ.

SPEAKER_04

And that's Patrick.

SPEAKER_05

RJ. Patrick. Why did we listen to that song?

SPEAKER_04

Um, because we're gonna be talking about our art classes today, and I am a big advocate for 90s country music, and we are in Music City where country music reigns superior. Yeah. And you can't tell me that people do not like a little Tracy Lawrence to start their day. It is a good song. A little paint me of Birmingham. It is a good song.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's it just it slaps every time. That's what the kids say. It slaps every time.

SPEAKER_05

I I like that you're like all hip with the new generation.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not. I intentionally use it so children stop using it because children are stupid. No offense.

SPEAKER_05

Anytime I hear a kid go six, seven, I always go eight, nine. Yeah, oh that that'll get them. That'll get them. They hate that.

SPEAKER_04

As soon as you do something, I've learned this as an adult. As soon as you do something that a kid thinks is cool and you do it, it instantly doesn't become cool. And that's how we keep balance in this world.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And that's the joy of what we do.

SPEAKER_05

Well, welcome back. I apologize if you hear a bunch of sniffles. Uh, I'm not gonna lie, I do not feel good. Yeah, you probably shouldn't be here. I probably shouldn't be here, but it's really kind of we were supposed to record yesterday, um, and we didn't because I was homesick.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And I did ask you to create a Bible of how to do this without you.

SPEAKER_05

And I still haven't done that.

SPEAKER_04

And uh here I am risking myself getting sick.

SPEAKER_05

I will get on that. Um, RJ is doing everything in his power to not get sick.

SPEAKER_04

I am. Um, vitamins, minerals, teas. I've taken from our good friends at Short Mountain Cultures shots of elderberry for three days straight. This thing, not that I'm advocating shooting any sorts of alcohols, but it trumps all of those. It's got a kick. It has got a kick like something else.

SPEAKER_05

I took one a few days ago before I was like sick sick, and that that taste stayed with you.

SPEAKER_04

It'll wake you up in the morning.

SPEAKER_05

It stayed with me for like 20 minutes.

SPEAKER_04

It is, you were ready to roll. And Beth here at the Art Center, she's been down in the firesider to stay healthy. Um Patrick, I got so much going on, I can't afford to get sick right now.

SPEAKER_05

I know, I know. I'm I'm doing my best to keep my distance.

SPEAKER_04

The day we were recording right now um is the last day of Juni B. Jones. We've made it through Juni B. Jones, all those sick children, but then I have also cast The Hobbit. Yes, you have. And I need to get going on that with 35 different children.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's exciting though.

SPEAKER_04

I'm very excited. I got a great cast. Um, really excited about the people who I have on board. Excited to get started on it, and uh I get to have all 13 dwarves, which I'm really excited about, littering the stage with all of Tolkien's Thorndwallin, Bollin, Biffer Boffer Bomber, Gloin, Oin, Doriori Nori, Feely, and Keely. I think that's all of them. I have to give all the kids I'm gonna have to give them signs so I could remember who they all are. Um, are they gonna have like the beards and the some will have beards, some won't, because I do not trust children to have the fake beards and they'll ruin them. No offense children. Yeah. But you're irresponsible.

SPEAKER_05

Hey. Well, we have an exciting episode today, even if I sound like I'm dying. We uh later in this episode we interviewed both of our Juni Bees. Yes. And so you will hear them later in the episode.

SPEAKER_04

An exclusive interview with the two Juni bees.

SPEAKER_05

It's the first episode we've ever interviewed people, so it's very exciting. However, we had to get so we had to get a new mixer so we could run more than two microphones.

SPEAKER_04

Which was very much a grand adventure for me and Patrick. Which ended with Beth just going to a pawn shop and getting it. But we traveled Murphy's borough looking for something. Yeah. Uh, and nothing worked.

SPEAKER_05

So we eventually got a mixer from a pawn shop that Beth found, and uh I'll be honest, it works, but it is not user-friendly, and it's kind of been beaten up and thrown around, so it doesn't sound the best. So But we got a cracker interview, yeah. No, we have a good interview. Um, but if you hear some sound issues during that interview, specifically not with a Junibees or RJ, but specifically on my microphone's end, that is why it's just a mixer.

SPEAKER_04

Well, then it might actually sound better.

SPEAKER_05

Hey. You know, I would normally say that that's mean, but you're probably right, especially with the state of my voice right now.

SPEAKER_04

Well, it's again, this is episode what? We're doing episode four, and we're constantly moving and upright.

SPEAKER_05

Which blows my mind.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, it's now become a habit.

SPEAKER_05

Because what do you mean this is episode four?

SPEAKER_04

If you do you do something continuously, it becomes a habit. I think we have now made this a habit. Yeah. Episode we're gonna keep going.

SPEAKER_05

Episode one felt like yesterday, like uh last week. I know, but now here we are with episode four.

SPEAKER_04

I know. And here's something else I realized. Um, because we now have video. Yep, we do camera. Um this hand, my left hand, as the camera could see as I'm moving it. I always knew that I talked with my hands. I was karate chopping and casting spells like a lunatic on the last episode. Um I normally I'm gonna try to control that.

SPEAKER_05

Well, I normally do, but I think the reason I'm better about it right now is because of the chair. The chair I'm in. It's all of that energy goes to me rocking. Yeah. We can try next episode if you want to switch chairs.

SPEAKER_04

No, I like this chair. I like the stability. Good. I like this chair. Good. Good. We agree on something.

SPEAKER_05

Man, I'm sorry I'm sniffling. It's it's okay. It's it's yeah, it's life, but now we do have an interview to get to, so we have a few things to get to before that. So I'm gonna try Pull out the notebook. I was about to say, as much as RJ hates it, I do have to pull out the notebook so we can address the things we need to address. Um topic number one. What do we have, Pat? Topic number one, uh, the day that this airs, so Monday. The ninth. Um, the ninth is also the day we're going to St. Clair's Senior Center to do an audition workshop for our future cast of Guys and Dolls.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, our our lovely segment update on the senior show.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. So very excited. We're gonna teach them the audition material.

SPEAKER_04

I got a phone call from them about a week or so ago because we had some miscommunication about dates, and some of them are freaking out. Why? Because they can't be at the audition dates that we set. Oh. So we need alternate audition dates as well. This is gonna be like a week-long audition process because they're so excited to be there.

SPEAKER_05

We'll make sure everyone who wants to audition can audition. Um, it is it has been interesting though, because you know, typically you would just say, you know, send in a video. Um, but you know, when you're working a a senior citizen show, what did what did he call them? Seen agers?

SPEAKER_04

Scenagers, as our friend Jim Trasport at the uh at the St. Clair Senior Center has coined. There's seen agers.

SPEAKER_05

Not everyone is, you know, hip and up to date on video technology tech. So we're just gonna have as many auditions as we need. Yeah. Like in-person auditions to make sure everyone can audition.

SPEAKER_04

It's gonna be a blast. I can't wait to see what I am really excited though. Um it all forms together.

SPEAKER_05

Uh another thing I have written down in my handy dandy notebook is because of our mixer, the new one we got, we are trying to, as a nonprofit organization, find a way to afford the right kind of mixer that we need to actually make this sound good and professional. Um that, you know, includes fundraising. That's as far as we've gotten, though. Yeah. We determined that. We determined that we have to fundraise, but we don't know how to do it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we determined that when we realized um it's a pain in the neck to work that one mixer. But it will work for the time being. Yes. But if any of you out there are big fans of this show and want to help us out, we won't say no.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. Or if you just have like ideas on how a good way to fundraise for that would be. We'd love to hear from you. Yeah. Email us at the Castl at Castlist at ArtCenter of CC.com. Your ideas. Yeah. Um, okay. Yadda da. Next order of business.

SPEAKER_04

The next order of business, Patrick.

SPEAKER_05

Art classes. Art classes is kind of why we listen to that song.

SPEAKER_04

Um, so speaking of painting, um, we have, if I get the right thing on my phone, I just have the uh I have the facilities up. So this one's a little bit later, but we have watercolors and acrylics painting with Jack Lab on April 25th from 10 to 1230. Um, so you could register on our website, artcenterofc.com. Yep. Under the education tab, you could click classes, you could see all of our art classes. Jack is such a great teacher, so fun to work with.

SPEAKER_05

And he teaches classes here regularly. Oh, yeah. So if you take a class with him and you really like his style of teaching and what he does, he'll be back, so you can take another class with him, which is great.

SPEAKER_04

So it's yep, watercolors and acrylics. You can paint that Birmingham, make it look just the way you planned. Little house on the edge of town. Uh in that porch, Patrick, it's going all the way around. Thanks. Yes. But yeah, uh, Jack has been even taught classes at the White Oak Craft Fair under our kids' tent. So his class is really good for all ages. If you need something to do with your kids, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, bring them on out. Paint a picture together, paint that Birmingham. Make it look just the way you planned.

SPEAKER_05

You're done?

SPEAKER_04

I don't think so. I don't think I'll ever be done with this. And then the big class is Textile Landscapes with Roberta Bell. And this is a two-day class because it's such a big project. And that's gonna be on two Saturdays, April 4th and April 11th from 10 to 4 p.m. Can you kind of explain? I'm going to read it because I am not in any way, shape, or form an artist. Sure. Um, and I don't want like the watercolors and acrylics, I know that's paints. Yeah. The Birminghams. The Burm. Make it look just the way you planned. Um you know you love it. Yeah, I know. And I know you all listening love it too. 90s country. Um, so it's textile landscapes with the Roberta Bell, and you will paint a landscape with fabrics using your reference photos and imagination. You'll be guided through creating a unique landscape using scraps of fabric, yarns, and ham hand embroidery stitches. Did I say ham? You did. Hand. It's hand, not ham. No pigs were harmed in the creation of this class. You will use different methods of adhering fabrics together, a variety of embroidery stitches. We'll focus on landscape design methods. We'll have a relaxing time stitching together and creating your own small landscape wall hanging. Ideally, students know how to use a needle and thread before enrolling in the class. And all materials we will be provided optionally, if you would like, bring a reference photo of a landscape you would uh like to make. There will be enough for everyone, but if you have your own tools you want to use, such as scissors, embroidery needles, thimbles, etc., please bring them along. If you have any special fabric you want to incorporate, bring that to. You know what uh reference photo I'd bring, Patrick?

SPEAKER_05

You know, I'm afraid to ask.

SPEAKER_04

It'd be uh a portrait of a Birmingham. And I'd make it look just the way I planned. It'll just be that little house on the edge of town with the porch going all the way around, baby.

SPEAKER_05

I was just I was seeing how long I can make the silence. Yeah, you can't.

SPEAKER_04

This this is a bad format for science.

SPEAKER_05

Um that is a really cool class, though.

SPEAKER_04

Absolutely. Yeah. Um, it's it's it's such a cool class. It's such a cool thing you can make. And it's something that isn't provided, I don't think, nearly anywhere else. Yeah. I don't know where else you can get a class such like that. I don't know where else you could do this Birmingham.

SPEAKER_05

All information. Don't tell me what to do. All boy. All information about those classes in any classes we do in the future, all that information is on our website, artscenterfcc.com.

SPEAKER_04

Under education, under classes, and you can click and register, register. Register? Register, but you could register right now. It can happen. Right now.

SPEAKER_05

Um, okay. Back to the notebook. What do we have? Back to the notebook. Well, we're we've kind of gotten through most of it before we head to our interview. Um, I had written down that we could have time for other personal stories if we wanted, but it's not necessary.

SPEAKER_04

Let's see. I um we've just been Juni being for the past two weeks.

SPEAKER_05

I will say this. Um, a a personal thing about me, uh, it's not like set in stone or anything, but I am thinking about uh getting a rescue dog. Just FYI. You're a real hero. That's something I'm thinking about. What sort of dog? Um honestly, I mean it's a rescue, so it doesn't really matter. Although I will say I live in an apartment, so it has to be like a small smaller lazy.

SPEAKER_04

You're not you're not getting a German shepherd.

SPEAKER_05

No. And I can't get like an energetic puppy or anything. But like, you know, a dog that's like been through some stuff that kind of just wants, you know. To lay around. To lay around. Yeah. I'm thinking about that. I don't know if I'm going to yet, but that's very exciting. No, I know. Do you have an air stick down? No. I I kinda anytime in the past I've gotten a pet, I've had to wait until like I meet the pet to like I always you gotta like know their personality. Yeah. So in my in my like immediate family, any or my my parents' current two dogs, they have like official like royal titles they've given them.

SPEAKER_04

Royal titles? Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Like what? So my parents have two retrievers, um, a boy and a girl. The boy is named Lord Nelson, and the girl is named Lady Violet.

SPEAKER_04

Wow. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

And they smell awful.

SPEAKER_04

That's not very regal and royal. No, it's Lord Nelson and Lady Violet.

SPEAKER_05

It's not. But they're cute.

SPEAKER_04

I'm sure they are. Um, my parents named one of their dogs after a burger restaurant.

SPEAKER_05

Nice.

SPEAKER_04

Buster.

SPEAKER_05

Awww.

SPEAKER_04

Buster burger palhaggy. Wait, no, I kind of like that. So if you uh if you're ever in Murphy's. I throw in the Buster Burger, they're like, we didn't get that from there. I go, where else did you get it from then? Aww. So yeah, if you're ever in Murphy's Boro, check out Buster's Burgers. It's my favorite place for a burger. That's really cute, though. They sponsor us. Yeah. I actually have a personal thing that happened during Juni B. Jones. Oh. So my father went to school at MTSU here in uh Middle Tennessee in the 1980s. So Blue Raiders showed Blue Raiders. We're both graduates. Yep. True Blue.

unknown

Woo!

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that was so loud in the mic. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_04

So anyway, I get a phone call from him at eight o'clock in the morning before one of our school shows. This man has not been up before eight o'clock in the morning to make phone calls in 15 years. Ever. Yeah. I thought something had happened. No. Here's what he here's what my father needed. He goes, Hey, do you remember my friend Marvin from college?

SPEAKER_05

From the 80s?

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, kind of. I'm like, I'm sure I've met him at some point. He goes, his wife is a teacher. And I go, Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

She's coming to your show today. And I go, that's great. Get a picture with her.

SPEAKER_05

Why?

SPEAKER_04

I'll get to that. So there I am.

SPEAKER_05

I took the picture. You took the picture. I'm now putting this together. Yes, you took the picture. I took that picture. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

So I'm now seating students looking for Mrs. Collier. And she goes, Are you RJ? I go, you must be Mrs. Collier. And she's like, I was told to look for you. I'm like, I was told to get a picture with you. And she said, Why? I go, I don't know. So he snapped a photo and I sent it to my father, and I go, here's your picture. And he wanted the photo so he could share it with all of his college friends and do like a isn't it crazy how 40 years ago we're playing football, and now my son and someone's wife is seeing Juni B. Jones in Cannon County, which is that is remarkable.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And I had to walk my dad through the text because he doesn't text people.

SPEAKER_05

What do they call that? The butterfly effect?

SPEAKER_04

When like one thing affects another thing, and then like a tiny like oh yeah, the wing, the flap of a butterfly causes a hurricane or something.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, on the other side of the world. Yeah, just like a chain reaction of events. Right.

SPEAKER_04

And yeah, so here we are. So shout out to Mrs. Collier for coming to watch Juni B's Essential Survival Guide to School Junior.

SPEAKER_05

Hope you enjoyed it. Yeah. Yep.

SPEAKER_04

Well, on that note, I think it's time we switch over. The video's gonna change because we have, as previously stated, I know, already interviewed them.

SPEAKER_05

It's a great interview, though. They're both really good kids, both very talented. I think you're really going to like it.

SPEAKER_04

Um so let's jump into our interview with the Juni B's, Kennedy Parrot and Adeline Chambers.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. Let's jump in right now.

SPEAKER_04

All right. Hi, everyone. Hi, everybody. We're here with Adeline and Kennedy, who are just finished playing Juni B and Juni B. Jones's Essential School survival guide. How are you guys doing today?

SPEAKER_00

Tired. Yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_06

We've already had two toes today.

SPEAKER_05

Two toes today.

SPEAKER_00

Two toes is a lot.

SPEAKER_04

How many toes will you each do total?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think you'll have to.

SPEAKER_02

I'm pretty sure it is, yeah. Yeah, so we're on like eight toes.

SPEAKER_05

And which one which cast is your cast?

SPEAKER_01

I'm tattletale cast. And I'm blabbermouthcast.

SPEAKER_06

Blabbermouthcast and title tail cast.

SPEAKER_04

You know, those big naughty words.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you guys so much for being here. The first guest. The first guest. Does that feel incredible or what?

SPEAKER_04

They're just children. You don't need to talk to them. You're like walking on eggshells around them. You're like, authentic talk. You sound like a parent, like. Uh this isn't about you. So why don't we talk to the journey beats?

SPEAKER_05

Okay. All right. Fellow Jimmy Beats. We have two questions for you. If that's okay. We're going to throw your way.

SPEAKER_02

Of course.

SPEAKER_05

So I'm going to hold up the phone notebook or two. It's very important and necessary. So we'll have to deal with it on the five. So question number one. And don't answer in whatever order you.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, Patrick. This is not the SAT. Just talk to them.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, well for that. So after that, I thought I just got to go. So it's like the first one. So that was a while ago, but I just never gonna uh forget the idea of reading the title and doing the other shows. I was like, I'm just gonna do it and see how it goes.

SPEAKER_04

That's so crazy because Patrick read it in first grade.

SPEAKER_05

I read one Jimmy Jones book in first grade, and I I got bullied really bad. We actually talked about it on the last episode. Everyone in my school said it was a girl's book.

SPEAKER_01

I thought you read it. I know, that's what I'm saying. Thank you.

SPEAKER_06

Did you hear that? Bullied? Any line very Jimmy Jones. Thank you for saying that. Kennedy, what made you want to audition?

SPEAKER_02

Um so Jamie B. Jones is actually my second show here at Cannon County. Um And I remember like just kind of looking on the website and seeing that auditions were up for Jene B. Jones. And I'm like, wow, that could be like really much of an opportunity. So I was like, why not? Because I also used to grow up on Jenny B. Jones in first grade, um, and especially in kindergarten too.

SPEAKER_04

You also used to grow up. Child, I don't mean to be rude, you still grow in.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, but um, I grew up on Jenny Jones books too, and I'm now in ninth grade, so Jenny B. Jones was a really big part of my life and still is. So I thought that was a huge opportunity.

SPEAKER_05

You see what I mean? You gotta stay on your toes whenever Archie's on the podcast. Because if you say one wrong thing, Patrick, I'm on every episode. I know. Imagine, imagine how hard it is for me. I have to do this every episode.

SPEAKER_04

Patrick, this isn't about you ask them the next question.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. So what was the hardest part of being in the show? That can be something to do with the actual shows, rehearsal process.

SPEAKER_04

Being Juni B.

SPEAKER_06

Jones being Juni B. Jones. What was the hardest part, do you think?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so first of all, there's lots of there's a wordy song called Like What in the show, and that took me a lot of time to master. So I have a voice lessons teacher, and she helped me a lot with that. So if she's watching this, credit to her.

SPEAKER_04

But um Plug. What's her name? You could say her name. Catherine Taylor. Yeah, Catherine Taylor.

SPEAKER_05

Catherine Taylor.

SPEAKER_01

She's been amazing, and so she's helped me a lot with that, and then um the You sounded really good too. Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

The very first song, Judy B Judy B Central Survival Guide. The high notes on that took a while to master two, but um I finally got it, and so I just felt really good about that, but there were just a lot of things, and like having to like memorize all of the lines, because there's a ton of lines in it, so like whenever I'd have to shout out line, I would be like, Oh great, but finally I mastered them, and now I feel amazing about this ph show.

SPEAKER_02

So I think definitely the hardest part for me was like I was doing really good with the songs and everything, especially like what at first. Um, I had a few mess-ups here and there, but when I was rehearsing and then we finally went off book, I was like, oh crap. And then of course that's when my mind started to go like OMG, what are my lines again? And I couldn't call line. So I think that was definitely the hardest part for me. Um, and I didn't really start struggling with the song like what until it was actually showtime. So it was like, oh geez.

SPEAKER_04

Oh geez indeed.

SPEAKER_01

That's the worst feeling when you like forget it while you're on the spot and you're like, oh my goodness. It's like I did that before, it was literally a full rehearsal, and I completely blanked on something, and I was like, and we couldn't call a line so I was like, it was just like a simple as line. I was like, Oh, I can't remember this, so I just had to make it up.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I hate that feeling. It's the worst. And then you can feel like everyone like staring at you. That deafening silence. It's just quiet, and then you just can't do anything.

SPEAKER_04

Well, you all both mentioned like what as the most difficult song, so then there must have been an easiest song. Which one was the easiest to you?

SPEAKER_01

Oh goodness.

SPEAKER_04

Um Or they all just, gosh, these are the hardest songs.

SPEAKER_01

No, there was only like two or three that were really like hard, hard for me, but the rest of them kinda just like I learned it and it kinda went good. So I think one of them was um I'm trying to think. One of a part of the song was um from Mother Was a Ca Bad Kid 2. And that little part I have to sing is from the other Jeanie Bee, which is so cool. So I kinda just already like kind of knew it once I did that. But there was lots of easy parts in this too.

SPEAKER_06

Wasn't it like a lizard song?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, Dear May. That's also an easy song, and I love it.

SPEAKER_04

That song always made me like it. Kennedy, what about you easiest song?

SPEAKER_02

Um, the easiest song for me is Dear May, because it's nice and slow and it has good vocals in it. Um, not too terribly like difficult words in the song. Um and the dialogue in Jenny B's Essential Survival Guide, that one kind of clicked like randomly easily for me, like surprisingly. Normally it wouldn't, because it you kind of go fast a little bit, but yeah. Okay, awesome.

SPEAKER_05

Nice. Alright.

SPEAKER_06

Get your notebook out, Patrick. Can't do anything around.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, next question. What was your favorite part of the show?

SPEAKER_04

Or the process. Let's start with Kennedy this time, just to change it up.

SPEAKER_02

I think definitely my favorite part of the show is the all of the rules. Rules part one, part two, and part three. Um, which Caden plays the principal and he's he's very funny as of the men's.

SPEAKER_04

Some people don't know who some people are.

SPEAKER_01

How do they not know that? He's like, everybody knows Caden.

SPEAKER_04

I know you're adorable. Don't hide from.

SPEAKER_02

But um, I think Principal's Office is one or sorry, rules is one of my favorite parts of the show.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um, for me, it's probably I gotta say, all the lifts and everything that I do, and like when I get to like the basket lift, and then I get to like fall into everybody's hands, like that's really fun. Cause it's like something new. A lot of the shows, there's no like fun lists, it's just like whole time you're just dancing. I feel like everything just went really well. And I gotta say, El Toro Fabuloso is by far one of my favorite songs of this whole show. Besides, I mean Juni B. Sindel survival glad in that is probably tied, but that one is so funny, and after I learned the meaning of everything of that, it just made me like every time just get more excited about that one. So, and all the costumes and everything for that is just so fun.

SPEAKER_04

So were either of you prepared at all for a Latin salsa number in the middle of a Judy B. Jones musical?

SPEAKER_01

No, definitely not. Because in the other Juni B there was nothing about El T El Toro at all.

SPEAKER_04

Is El Toro in any of the books? Because I never read the books because I bullied Patrick when I was a kid. Right.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think she was. Actually, well maybe. She's not I don't think they actually say El Toro Fabuloso, but like they I uh my sister was reading one of her books or whatever and flipped to the page of her having saute fake bullhorns on. It's like a hat with bullhorns on. So it was really funny to see that, but I don't think they actually go like clearly into El Toro.

SPEAKER_04

Fascinating.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. El Toro is really amazing though.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that costume is really cool.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

For people who didn't see the show, El Toro had like how would you explain that costume? Um she wore bullhorns, but then she was like, She looked like the devil. Well, no, but kind of.

SPEAKER_01

She had like a long a really long red and black skirt with like this.

SPEAKER_05

It kind of looked like a matter door like cake thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and then she had like a black top on with black bullhorns, and her hair was put up really like in like giant bubble braids. It looked everything just looked really good. It was just all put together for that.

SPEAKER_05

So I know we kind of talked about this a little bit with the other Juni B show, but uh have y'all done other shows before besides this show? And yeah, what was your favorite? How does it compare to Juni B and the other? How many other shows have you done?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, no pressure.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, y'all kind of seem like seasoned veterans.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Uh this is actually my eighth uh like musical in total, and I know this kind of ruins the question, but Juni B Essential Essential Survival Guide was my by far my favorite one I've done.

SPEAKER_03

Woo! Yeah, that's good. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, my second's probably Nemo, because I was Nemo in that, and that was also really fun. I got to go down the slide and everything. So that was that was. Three of them, and oh my goodness, that was so hard to remember all the lines for that because they were like the same for the three songs. It changed up every time, but just a little bit of the words. So um that one was that one was really fun, but I will s I will say I've done maybe I think three at my old school, and they uh I've gotta say Cannon County just does really good compared to other theaters.

SPEAKER_04

Write that down. Hey, yeah, write job.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I've done two shows. Um the last show that I did was the Phantom Towbooth, toll booth right here at the Cannon County County.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we're definitely not doing any shows about a tow booth. Yeah, no. So no one get concerned about those toll booth.

SPEAKER_02

Um, but the first ever show that I did was 'twas the last mailing day before Christmas. That was at a local church I had done for a few months.

SPEAKER_04

So this is your third show ever? Yes, yes it is. And you're Juni B in your third show ever. That's a news. How does how how did that news when you heard you're gonna be Juni B? And this is for both of you, but we'll start with Kennedy. How did hearing that you're gonna be Juni B. Jones like tell us about that moment?

SPEAKER_02

So I remember getting that email um when they were like giving out emails to everybody saying what part they got, and I was reading it and I'm like, okay, and I stuck and I I kept reading, and I'm like, it said something about like I'm so grateful and honored to give you the role of Juni B. Jones. I swear I thought I was actually like I thought I was gonna like faint or something. Like it was like I'm just so extremely, extremely grateful to be Juni B. Jones in Juni B. Jones' Essential Survival Guide to School.

unknown

Junior.

SPEAKER_02

Junior. Junior.

SPEAKER_06

The musical.

SPEAKER_02

The musical. But um, I'm just so extremely grateful for this to only be my third show and have the lead role. I'm just extremely grateful.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's awesome. What about you, Edelyn?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I know I've done eight shows, but not every time I wasn't like a main part, so this is also a really big deal, especially for it. Besides Nemo, that one was like a really big opportunity for me after that. I mean, I had other good roles, but not as big as this. So whenever I found out, I was kind of like starstruck. I was like, whoa, wait, what does this say again? And so when they told me I did start crying a bit, I was so happy, like I was like, it was happy, happy years, but it wasn't like full and bowling, but I was like, I was so happy for this because now I like get to say if it's fun to still say I was in Juni B, but like to say I was Juni B and how I got to like like play that role and every every time I would tell somebody that they didn't know, they would be like, wait, wait, you're Juni B. And so now that I get to like after this is done, I'm just always gonna remember this it'll definitely be a show that sticks out because I was just always I was just so happy when I found out about this show.

SPEAKER_05

Yay! Awwww. Fantastic. That's awesome. Okay, so take backing off of that. I have another question. Now, I'm gonna preface this question by saying, just because you say an answer doesn't mean it'll actually happen. But just out of curiosity, is there a specific show you would want to see the Art Center of Cannon County do in the future to be a part of?

SPEAKER_06

Or just to say, or just a C.

SPEAKER_05

Just because you say one doesn't mean it'll happen, but it might. Or it might not. Or it might not. It probably won't. Um, there is, man.

SPEAKER_01

I've seen a ton here. Um, I saw Mash Trap here, and that was really good. I loved the mystery. Uh so that was a really good show.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. Really good.

SPEAKER_04

That set was that guy who played the detective was great. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It was me.

SPEAKER_01

He was great, yeah. I killed it. You did. Um, so something that's like also like kids can still see it. Because some I like want to see, but then it's also it's not kid appropriate. So I feel like I that one was really good to see that it was fun and I still understood it and everything. And me and my mom the whole time were like, who is the murderer? Who is it? Who is it? So that was really fun. And then um I really love Broadway shows, so when Anastasia was here, that was really fun to see, like just something like that. Um I don't know, like that was another good show. Yeah, like those are just when it's like actually from Broadway hit and everything, that's just like really cool to see that they are doing it here. So just one day, I wish y'all could do w uh Wicked here. That would be great.

SPEAKER_04

Well, we all yeah, we'll just we'll just start saving up now to do all the special effects that are in Wicked.

SPEAKER_05

I would like the rights aren't out. Yeah, but if they ever do come out one day, maybe that would be amazing.

SPEAKER_04

Cross that fridge later.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so like big like Broadway musicals and like murder mysteries. Yes. Okay. Kennedy. Kennedy, what about you?

SPEAKER_02

I honestly would absolutely love to see more like Disney Jr. shows. I think those are definitely some of my favorites, actually. I love seeing Disney Junior shows, especially Frozen. Yeah, especially Frozen.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's fine. They make a bunch of Disney Jr. shows. Frozen, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, tons.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. Those are really fun to do because sometimes there's ones that are like, they're kid ones, but not always I've had the interest to do it. So I'm like, I wish there was more like Juni B and Nemo and all those ones. So that was like really fun. So I just also stay with Kennedy, one of those two.

unknown

Cool.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, so Fairy Tales, Disney, and murdering people. That's what Kennedy and Adeline want to see here at the Art Center at Cannon County.

SPEAKER_05

So, RJ, there are no more questions on my notebook. But you always make fun of my notebook and say that we don't need it. So, are there any more questions you want to ask?

SPEAKER_04

Well, do you guys have any more thoughts? Anything else you would like the people to know about Juni B. Jones?

SPEAKER_01

Um.

SPEAKER_04

Think of this as your last send-off for Juni B. Jones, because at time of recording, you each got a couple shows left. But treat this as sort of the grand farewell to Juni B. Jones, like what you thought of the experience, the show.

SPEAKER_05

Since you're the first guest, you have to go out with like a bang. It has to be big and exciting. I'm kidding. It doesn't.

SPEAKER_01

Uh uh, anyone who's watching, watch out because I'm like I guess Watch yourself. Because I'm trying to get to like big shows, so like after I don't know, it's hard to say, but like I wanna like I wanna become like a singer when I grow up, so I'm just trying to like get more under my belt like doing things.

SPEAKER_05

So basically what you're saying is it doesn't stop at junior shows. Oh no. Oh no.

SPEAKER_01

Once I get old enough, like a little bit older to do like teapac shows and everything, like come on.

SPEAKER_03

Here we go.

SPEAKER_01

At least by the time I'm almost twelve, so by the time I'm 13, I want to be doing teapac shows. Okay, I'll try at least. At least audition to part of them.

SPEAKER_05

And then by the time you're 14, I expect Broadway nothing less. We'll be here.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, me and me and RJ will still. But we'll come see.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'll I'll still I'm I'll never stop with Candy County shows. I'll always do them, but I just want to try to get like also I feel like now that I I don't go to I homeschool now, so like now I don't do all my sho other shows, so now it's just like Canyon County only. So I just like I don't know. Just watch out, world, here it comes.

SPEAKER_05

Nice. So, you know, there have been other Canyon County people in the past to make it like really big.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know, no.

SPEAKER_05

We've had Canyon County people go beyond American Idol.

SPEAKER_04

Chris Young's.

SPEAKER_05

That is my dream. We've had Really? Yeah, really?

SPEAKER_04

Chris Young's done stuff here.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_04

But Kennedy, yeah. What about you?

SPEAKER_02

Um honestly, I just wanted to put that out there that, like I said, I'm so extremely grateful to be here, and I will definitely always, always be coming back to the Cannon County Art Center. I feel like this place is my second home already. By only doing two shows. I feel like this place is my home. I've made I've made so many new friends. I've met such nice people, and RJ and Patrick. Um, but I also want to kind of take my career into professional theater, so I really hope that goes like how I kind of imagine it one day. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Well, thank you guys so much. Yeah. Thanks for being the first guest ever on the castle. I'm so honored.

SPEAKER_04

Y'all are the guinea pig, so I do have to ask before we let you go, are you guys auditioning for anything soon? Are you in anything n uh very soon that the audience can see you in? Um Adeline, what's in the what's in the near future for you?

SPEAKER_01

Uh I'm trying to, like I said, I want to go bigger, so I'm just trying to see if there's any like opportunities for any shows, like or anything really, even if it's not shows. Or like singing opportunities for anything else. And so I'm not right I kinda wanna take a just a bit break because it's been a lot of time. So once I like have a little rest point, I think I'll try to see if there's anything else due. And um definitely I'm not soping with Kenny County. I'm gonna do lots of more shows here, so just hope to keep building up my resume and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_04

Alright. Kennedy, what about you?

SPEAKER_02

I actually just recently auditioned in a show that Mr. RJ is going to be directing. Oh. The Hobbit.

SPEAKER_04

Ooh, playing. And who are you playing?

SPEAKER_02

I am playing. I have been honored to get the role of Dork.

SPEAKER_06

Dork the Goblin! The Goblin. Nice. Alright. Well, thanks so much for being on the show. Thank you guys so much. Very good job.

SPEAKER_05

Also, congratulations on the rest of your run. You're all doing fantastic. Thank you. I'll be very proud of what you've been doing.

SPEAKER_04

You guys have crushed it as June B.

SPEAKER_06

You've been crushing it.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you so much. You want to say like bye to your parents or your people? Bye everyone! Bye, everyone. Well, we're not going away.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, me and our are still here.

SPEAKER_06

Like and subscribe.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

Like, like and subscribe.

SPEAKER_04

And there it is, Patrick. We did our first interview on the cast list. It took four episodes to get there before we did it.

SPEAKER_05

Move on up in the world.

SPEAKER_04

And you did okay.

SPEAKER_05

Well, yeah, okay. So I walked in with my notebook, and RJ was so fed up about my notebook that RJ just kind of took the reins, and that's fine because honestly it's teamwork. It is teamwork. And like as much as I hate to admit it, because of how much I rely on my notebook, it is boring when I use it entirely.

SPEAKER_04

Well you're you're adding more enthusiasm the more you use the notebook. You're you're breaking out of your shell. You know that's all we could hope for.

SPEAKER_05

You know, RJ. You make me better.

SPEAKER_04

And you make me a better friend. Thank you for being a friend.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you for being a friend. Uh never never don't.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I think that is it.

SPEAKER_04
