The new cast list is up in five, four, three, two, one. Welcome back, cast listers. So glad you're back with us. I was just trying to think of an opening that RJ would hate, and so I landed on that.
SPEAKER_03Cast listers.
SPEAKER_02That's our fan base. Welcome back. Okay. I hope you survived the last two weeks without us. I know those two weeks can get pretty long and dark without our presence. So way to hang in there. We're back. Episode seven. Better than ever before. We got a good episode for you today.
SPEAKER_03You called them cast listers. That's who they are. You didn't even introduce yourself. There's p probably potentially new listeners. You've called them something ridiculous, and they don't even know who's calling them that. Cast listers have been here before, they know who we are.
SPEAKER_02But what about a new person? I'm getting there. For anyone who is new here, thank you for joining us. This is the cast list. I'm Patrick. I'm RJ. And this is the cast list in Art Center of Canyon County Podcast.
SPEAKER_03You're ticking me off already. We're right out of the gate. I know. It's been a very long week for me, Patrick. I've got a headache. I'm fighting off colds and illnesses. RJ took an elderberry shot yesterday at work. Yesterday. Right? This morning? Yesterday. I'm for those of you just tuning in to the show, uh, The Hobbit, uh, which I'm directing, opens in two weeks. Uh actually opens in a week and a half by the time this episode comes out. And uh we're in crunch time. We're building sets and editing sound cues and making uh getting all the lights in position. And I'm doing everything. The lights look really good. Thank you, Patrick. Shout out to Corinne fan designing my lights. But uh I'm doing everything I can to stay sane, to get enough sleep, to fight off the seasonal allergies that always attack me, like a wild honey badger does at this time of year. So I'm drinking teas, elderberry shots, allergy pills, nasal spray, eye drops. Don't mess with me. Those elderberry shots are no joke. I'm like a overprotective, stereotypical homeschool mom protecting her baby. Um, except I am both the mom and the baby simultaneously. Nothing nothing against homeschool people. You're all very, very nice. I said the stereotypical ones, which are not you people listening to this lovely podcast. You cast listers. You anyway.
SPEAKER_02We have a good episode for you today. We have a Hobbit cast interview that we do. We're interviewing Kaden Olson, um, that we'll get into in a little bit.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he's taken on the role of Gollum, which uh he didn't know what he was getting Oh, and Small, the Dragon. But he did not know what he was getting into uh playing Gollum, so it's a very, very interesting interview for everyone to be listening to. So good job on you listening.
SPEAKER_02For people who are curious, and you don't have to if you want to keep it a secret. But like, would you mind telling us your like Gollum vision for the show? Oh And I know I know you're like working with Caden to like turn determine what that is.
SPEAKER_03Oh god, I had to work with Caden again. How that was very challenging. Now I know you're having to work with Caden. Uh you know what? I hate to do this to the uh fans because I know the cast listers are just sitting on the edge of their seat wanting to know what is RJ's take on Gollum. But uh why don't we save that for next week and tease what next week's uh episode is going to be. So this whole episode is nothing but a tease for next week.
SPEAKER_02Next week is really exciting because for every show we do, we have started we started with last uh wow, word started with last show doing director interviews. Okay.
SPEAKER_03I'm sick and fighting off folds and stuffed noses. Chill.
SPEAKER_02I'm being a professional. You're fine. You're fine. Calm down. We started doing director interviews for our show starting with last show, which was Children of Eden. And so for Hobbit, for our director interview, it's being directed by RJ. Yeah. And so we're interviewing RJ as a director.
SPEAKER_03Specifically. Which means we need to find a different co-host for that interview.
SPEAKER_02And so if I'm being honest, I have no idea what next episode looks like yet. We have two weeks to find a co-host. Yep. We could go like we could get a co-host for that one episode, or we can go like full like interrogation mode. And I just like interview. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Or maybe you want to be the co-anchor. Your rapid fire questions are gonna be brutal. Oh, I can't wait. I'll answer them with so much uh gusto and panache. Panache. Yes, that's one of those SAT words. Yeah. Yeah. But if you want to be the co-host, maybe uh applications are open. Yeah. Write us a very nice email at castlist at artcenterofcc.com. If your email sways us enough, maybe we'll be maybe just maybe.
SPEAKER_02We'll be persuaded to bring you on the show. Yep. Um, a few things to talk about before we bring Caden on the show. Yes. Uh a few orders of business. First of all, staying on the topic of this isn't business.
SPEAKER_03This is fun. People turn to tune in for a fun time. They don't want to be thinking about business.
SPEAKER_02Brother, we are a non-profit organization, whether you like it or not.
SPEAKER_03They want to hear about all the fun things.
SPEAKER_02This business is fun.
SPEAKER_03We've got to sit down and talk about business. Sound like a grumpy old man. Oh, I gotta go do my taxes.
SPEAKER_02I hate tax easy.
SPEAKER_03Have you done your taxes yet? Oh, so have I. Thank goodness. Anyway, what is this business we must go over?
SPEAKER_02Promoting the show that you're directing. Yes, come see the hobbit. That's the business.
SPEAKER_03May May 2nd and 9th are the public shows. There are limited tickets left, but if we sell out, we do have the potential of adding another show. So don't wait. If we sell out. Don't wait, get those tickets because you listeners don't know what the deadline is for when we're gonna add a show.
SPEAKER_02Um, the dragon smog, the puppet itself, is coming along nicely.
SPEAKER_03He is nearly, nearly done. He just needs a few more lathers of skin. He is huge.
SPEAKER_02I think this is the third episode we've been working on him. I think. Which means this has been at least a month. Month and a half for smog, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Good grief. Uh I actually, about a couple weeks ago, got an email uh from the Frenchman. Really? Yes, it was it wasn't directly from him, it was from the company that handles like the template. But it's like, tell his name's Raphael. Ooh. I believe it's Raphael. Raphael. I'll find out and I'll confirm on the next episode. But it's like, you know, and picks will help, and um I've got it starred in my inbox and I'm like Raphael.
SPEAKER_02For those of you who don't know who the Frenchman is, the Frenchman is the guy on YouTube who made the dragon tutorial um that we've been using to learn how to build this dragon. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And he makes a bunch of stuff. Oh yeah. We'll find out. We'll get his information for next episode, but uh yeah. Uh all Zikadbold. He is the Codbold man. And yeah, Smog looks so good, so terrifying.
SPEAKER_02But like, not like in an extremely scary way. In like a oh, that's sick.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like, oh my gosh, that is a dragon. Like that looks so cool. Yeah. It's better than some college football mascots, I would say. Oh. Yeah. Big time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I can think of a few in particular that I'm not gonna name drop. Good, don't do that. Yeah, I'm not going to.
SPEAKER_03But anywho, what other business do we have?
SPEAKER_02Besides Hobbit stuff, which is looking all around very spectacular from a visual standpoint, not just the dragon, but the set and the floor and the lighting and everything.
SPEAKER_03I'm glad you say that, because I've I'm the director and I've told people what I wanted, and people seem to be impressed thus far. Shout out Big Boss Beth. Big Boss Beth for the floor.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um, other than Hobbit, uh conservatory still accepting applications. Yes. And not just for conservatory, but for tech camp as well.
SPEAKER_03For tech camp, yeah. So if you're uh you got a kid who doesn't talk to people but uh knows how to sh uh shine a flashlight or do some sound design, we could use a sound designer because uh if you're still listening to this podcast and you're like, wow, their banter has improved, but the sound quality has about stayed the same. It's because we don't have any sound people. Dire need of an audio engineer. Yeah. Dire need. Maybe your child turns this into a some sort of career opportunity. You could be an in-house sound engineer for the Art Center of Cannon County. And it all starts with Tech Camp. Mm-hmm. You or your child could be the professionalism we're lacking. I and I and I mean that. I don't know what you're saying. I'm a constant professional. Yeah. No, I know. You're wearing pink board shorts like you're gonna go be in a Beach Boys music video later. God forbid I bring a little pop-a-color.
SPEAKER_02A pop-a-color? To this podcast.
SPEAKER_03Listen, for those not watching, allow me to describe uh Patrick's outfit. My this is the most Patrick outfit though. Yes, you have a short sleeve button down. Yep. With flags, not nautical flags. Nautical flags, uh pink board shorts, and uh what what are those? Uh high top sneakers? Yep. Yeah. Chuck Taylors. Yeah. All stars. Yeah, you definitely would be a bully in a 1980s teen drama.
SPEAKER_02Out of all the things you could have said, that is not I do not agree with that. This is the guy that would get shoved in the locker. Are you kidding me?
SPEAKER_03No, you would, but you're dressed like a chet. I'm what? Chet?
SPEAKER_02No, I'm not.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Write in if you think what I've described Patrick as is a chet.
SPEAKER_02Out of all the stereotypical Hollywood high school bullies in all of cinema, how many of them were wearing a button-up shirt with nautical flags on the room?
SPEAKER_03Listen, you're you're giving off a yacht club country club. Like that that was the kid. That's not bully, though. That's yeah, that's the kid that the karate kid fought against those kids. Uh you're gonna get waxed on, waxed off.
SPEAKER_02You're gonna be done for. Okay, I can see that. Okay, yeah, I can see that. Like, I so I look like I'm terrified of Mr. Miyagi.
SPEAKER_03I'm not saying that you bully people. I'm saying that the outfit would bully people.
SPEAKER_02My outfit is scared of Mr. Miyagi. Oh, absolutely. Okay. I can I can see it. Okay, okay. What were we talking about while tech camping?
SPEAKER_03How do you be a sound engineer?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, I remember. RJ mentioned that he's professional all the time. And then so we started talking about the Karate Kin movie. Constant Professional. Starring Ralph Machio.
SPEAKER_03Yes, we don't count the other one. Yeah, no. It doesn't count. No, no, no, no. Um Ralph Macho, if you're listening, give us a shout-out. We're big fans.
SPEAKER_02Ralph Machio, if you're listening, I'm sorry. Um, what else? Okay, yeah. Last thing on the notebook. Oh, already? Yep. I know. For real. Auditions are coming up for 12 Angry Jurors. 12 Angry Jurors. That is May 3rd and 4th with potential callbacks on the 5th. Yes. Um, just a reminder, 12 Angry Jurors is our black box series show this year, so it will not be on the thrust stage that you are probably familiar with. It will be on a uh brand new built set in Cannon Hall. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I was a part of the black box show last year, ladies and ladies, and it was an absolute blast of a show.
SPEAKER_02I really like that we've started doing that because one, I do like the change in scenery, but it also blows my mind at the sets that we're able to build in there. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, it also allows us to take risks on uh I don't mean this in a bad way, but like a smaller type of show. Yeah. You know, like you need the thr giant thrust stage. It's a more intimate space. Yeah, big, big uh musicals. But uh the hall provides us to do these like uh small, intimate shows that are make you laugh, make you cry. Because I mean, Steel Magnolias was our first uh one, and that's what, seven ladies? I think six. Six ladies. Leading ladies, there was only seven of us. For leading ladies, were y'all mic'd? Yeah, I was you were mic'd. Yeah, we got mics in there. We we got the whole whole nine yards in there, Patrick, because we're constant professionals. Yeah. And uh 12 Angry Jurors, it's directed by Madison Tobek, and she's got a great production team behind her. She's got uh Stephanie Long, who stage managed things like Crucible and Moon Over Buffalo and Mousetrap and Leading Ladies and Steel Magnolias. So she's done a lot. Quite the resume. She's got a really top-notch professional uh producer. Do you know who that is? Who's the producer or do me? I'm the producer. Who could have guessed? Yeah. So if you if that sounds fun. If you're angry or know someone who's angry, come audition.
SPEAKER_02We need them. Yep, come audition. Yeah. Uh black box shows are always so fun, though. So highly, highly recommend them. You'll have a great time. In the meantime, I feel like we can kind of jive jive? Dive? Drive and jump. I combine dive and jump. Oh.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I gotcha. But we can kind of another slight news, our coworker Cameron, is traipsing across Europe. Yeah. And I we should say uh something to her to see if she's listening in Europe. Cam, did you ever make it? Did you ever make it to Europe? Because last time you messaged us, you hadn't.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so Cam's plane had to We only know so much, to be honest. This is the information we know. This is what we know about Cam's European vacation. In the past forty-eight hours, Cam's plane had to turn around somewhere between America and Europe. Turn around completely because there was something wrong with the plane, and then she had to spend the night in the airport, probably like on the floor until 6 a.m. And then they finally put her in a hotel, and when she got to the hotel, it was discombobulated. I can't even explain it. Like all the furniture was like on top of the bed in the middle of the room.
SPEAKER_03Discombabulated.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So, Cam. Hope you made it. Yeah, we hope you're having a great time. Uh, check out Bruges. I've always wanted to go to Bruges. Send us a postcard. Send us a postcard. Uh send the cast listers a postcard. And if you're feeling up to it, try to find those 30 European listeners we have. Yeah. If you're one of our European listeners, know that uh our countdown voice, Cam. Is amongst you. Is amongst you. Among you? Amongst amongst is Europe and around.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, here's Caden Olson. In three, two, one. Whoosh.
SPEAKER_03And we are now joined by Caden Olsen. Hi, Caden. Welcome to the Castlist Podcast. Hi, it's an honor.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03Settle down. It's it's we're just sitting here in chat, okay? There's no need for you to be nervous. Not that deep. You seem more nervous than Patrick normally is. It's not that deep. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Thank you for being here, though. Hope you just promote the Hobbit. Yeah. You love the Hobbit. I'm glad you love The Hobbit.
SPEAKER_00Who are you playing from the Hobbit? I'm playing Gollum and Smog. Tell us about Gollum and Smog. So, no pressure. We open this on a Wednesday. So, Gollum is this like gross slimy cave thing that Bilbo Baggins discovers on his adventure to um go get the treasure horde from the dragon smug. Um take it deep.
SPEAKER_03It's only one of the most famous stories in all of the picture. Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00Um don't look at his notebook. So, Gollum. Gollum. Gollum, he's Gollum. Um Okay, I'm just gonna move on. Well, what about Smog? Oh, smog's easier. Smog is this big evil bad dragon who uh stole uh the land from the king under the mountain long ago, and so now Thorne is trying to reclaim that land, and the dragon smog is guarding the treasure.
SPEAKER_02We've been updating the listeners about the dragon puppet and how it's coming along. It's almost at the time of recording, it's almost done. Yeah, the finishing touches are being put on small and very close, and it looks sick. What do you think of it? It's huge. It's massive. Okay. Yeah. No, it's gonna be really cool though. Fantastic. This is a very strange energy on this. This is this interview, which is strange. Look, I'm gonna ask you some questions. Just think of him from a conversational standpoint. You're talking to your buddies in the parking lot. You're talking to your buddies after rehearsal, right? Chatting with your friends. Okay. So I would like to hear about the stuff you've done at Canyon County before in the past.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, why don't you tell uh the listeners a little bit about yourself? I'd love to.
SPEAKER_01Who are you? Caden, why are you here? So, what is the meaning of life?
SPEAKER_00Cannot tell you that much. Just start with who you are. Um I'm Caden Olsen. About five years ago, I did my first show ever and my first show at Cannon County, which was Frozen Jr. That was your first show ever. First show ever. It was here. Um, and I was rock troll number four. Nice. I had my own solo. What made you want to be in Frozen Jr.? Um I had a few friends who were gonna do it and they bullied me into it.
SPEAKER_03That's usually how it works. That is typically how it works. Listen, if you need us to bully you into a show, we'll let Lycum bully you and we will not show. No, we will not.
SPEAKER_02Um Well, that's cool.
SPEAKER_01How many shows have you done here, do you think, if you had a guess?
SPEAKER_00Um I think my count right now is around 22.
SPEAKER_0122 shows here? 22 shows here in five years. In five years. Well, I mean, if you think about though, like you've been in the conservatory, and you've done some like kid shows with also some mainstay shows.
SPEAKER_00I think I'm around 40 shows in total.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Five years. Actually, there's not a ton of people who can say they've done conservatory here, our uh school matinee shows here, and the mainstay shows here. Um so that's actually really cool.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, why don't you give us a breakdown of all three of them, your experiences with all three, uh starting with conservatory. I'd love to. Conservatory We're so glad.
SPEAKER_00I'd love to. I would love to. Conservatory is a great experience where I got to learn how to improve my acting, singing, and dancing through different classes. And um I also got to like meet a bunch of new people, and a lot of them are friends that I made a long time ago that I'm still in contact with today. Um it's such a great experience, and you get to put on a show at the end, which is awesome. And um, RJ. Ooh. I get it. Yeah, but I love conservatory. It is definitely what convinced me that theater was something I wanted to do throughout my life. What was your best conservatory memory?
SPEAKER_03Um, oh no. Okay. I'm just too scared for what I could do.
SPEAKER_00That's that's a hard one.
SPEAKER_03Okay, best moment of conservatory. Is that easier? Um like a standout moment.
SPEAKER_00Yes. I think uh in this uh past conservatory, I was Reverend Shaw. You you might have seen it.
SPEAKER_02I think it's it because I was common called.
SPEAKER_00You were Reverend Shaw in a position. I was Reverend Shaw in uh the musical Footloose, and at the very end of the show, I gave this like uh monologue, and it made like half the audience cry. And so that was a big moment for me. And then I also got the actor award, like the paper. Yes. Yeah, the paper. Yeah, it was a pretty cool paper.
SPEAKER_03We we we we we tried to make it special to conservative. But we we can really only afford paper certificates. It was thicker cardstock, though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I have it hung up in my room.
SPEAKER_03Heck yeah. Nice. So that's conservatory. Yeah. What about the School Matinee series? Um tell us about your experiences with that.
SPEAKER_00So my first ever show was a School Matinee show, um, which was Frozen Junior for us The Rock Troll. And uh that was a fun time. It was super easy, and even though I was new, I was like able to get through it um pretty easy without really knowing how to sing or dance or act. Sure. And uh I think the great thing about School Madine shows is that you could be like super skilled and like the best of the best kids, or you could be starting off and like everyone gets the same experience and everyone uh gets to build a bond and a friendship, and it's um it's just a great experience. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Speaking of bonds and friendships, how's all that going in? The hobbit with you as Gollum, who you don't you're still trying to figure out, it sounds like, and as the dragon smog.
SPEAKER_00Um the bonds and friendships are pretty good in that. Um we like to play Pokemon Go. So uh instead of learning uh who Gollum is, I thought I thought Gollum would like the 2016s of Pokemon Go. So that that's my character building for.
SPEAKER_01Anyway. Okay, and so that takes us to the mainstage shows you've been in. Ah, yes. Tell us about those.
SPEAKER_00Um, I've been in quite a few, and those ones are definitely more of an effort compared to both Conservatory and the School Madonna shows, because instead of putting on an hour show where you're in half of it, if you're an ensemble member, you're putting on an almost three-hour show and you're in like the whole thing, which can be uh a lot and you have to really work hard to and put in a lot of effort for the results, but it's a great way to feel like you're performing in such a professional space without needing to like go through all the stuff that professional theaters have. Yeah. And it's uh it's incredible to perform in front of those big audiences and put on such a great show. So, out of all other shows you've done here at any of the three levels, what do you think has been like your favorite show or role that you've done? My favorite show or role on the spot.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I wanna, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I tell people this all the time, but I think my favorite show I've ever been in was uh The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Heck yeah! TYD by directed by RJ Pal Hagen. Put another one in the win column for me. Patrick!
SPEAKER_01And who were you in, Tom Sawyer?
SPEAKER_00I was Huckleberry Finn. Okay, and it was such a great role to play, and it was something that I really felt like I poured my heart into, and I got results back that I really appreciate, and I can like look back on it now, and I'm very proud of it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I like it. I like that show.
SPEAKER_00Me too.
SPEAKER_01I like that show. I thought it was really good.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's cool. Uh do you have anything as far as shows go? Anything in mind that you think you would want to see the art center do in the future? Ooh.
SPEAKER_00Ooh.
SPEAKER_02That they haven't done already? It could be something they've done already. It can also be something they haven't done. Right, right.
SPEAKER_00That's a difficult one. I know they just did um Little Shop of Wars, but I've always wanted to be in that show. Yeah. So it was like, it was a bum. A bummer that I missed out on it. But oh, a show they haven't done? You know, wicked rights are coming out. No, they're not. No, they're not just not.
SPEAKER_02They're not. Would you do Hamilton?
SPEAKER_03Oh God, no, please. Hamilton rights are not ounced. No. Um, well, that's funny. I was gonna say, this is our zippiest interview. We're just flying through it.
SPEAKER_02It's gonna get zippier when we move on to our rapid fire section in just a little bit. But we're not there yet. I can talk slower if you need. No, it's fine. No, no, this is.
SPEAKER_03We're still figuring this out. This is only episode seven. Yeah. Um, I will say, don't ever do that again. I I have done that on the podcast. For those of you who are not watching and just listening, Caden just did the 6-7 hand motion and uh he did it again. Yeah. Dreadful.
SPEAKER_02Uh okay. I would like to attempt to promote Hobbit before. Yeah, we can keep talking about Hobbit. Before the interview ends.
SPEAKER_03Well, as the director and someone very concerned that your character development for Gollum has been about Pokemon Go, let's take a second to dive into that. What have been sort of uh because you've done a lot here? Has this show been challenging in any different sort of ways? Are these characters been different for you in any sort of way?
SPEAKER_00Um, I think that a big aspect of the show is this is my first straight play show, so I've usually done musicals, and it's easier for me to express emotion and all that through singing and dancing and all that. So it's um it's a change to like fully push through a show with just acting. And I think it was a little bit of a struggle for me to figure out how to like keep emotion in my character the whole entire time without being able to break into song. But um it's definitely been a little bit more challenging to figure out because Gollum's a difficult character and everyone wants to see it, so it's all that they do. So it it's difficult to figure out, but I think I've started to. I hope. I think I've started to really get a grasp on the character Gollum and how I want to portray it.
SPEAKER_03Well, you can see him this Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Art Center of Cannon County in The Hobbit. Tickets on sale now.
SPEAKER_02Do you think Gollum prefers like what type of like Pokemon do you think Gollum would like battle with?
SPEAKER_00Okay, I'm glad you asked me this because this was part of my character building I did yesterday. Um Gollum actually has a team of six Pokemon. The first one being Gengar. Okay. Because he likes all the little creatures. He also has Sableye on his team, which is a little like gremlin thing. Um he owns a Charizard. That was his starter. So he loves Charizard. Um he likes Gimmy Ghoul, which is one of the new ones, and Gimighool is represented by Gold Ring. That is ghoul. Okay, yeah, you got the big man.
SPEAKER_01See, he's gonna get character development, come on.
SPEAKER_00And then uh he had two other Pokemon, but he ate them.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well, okay, you're you're at least thinking about it. That's that's progress.
SPEAKER_00And you know your lines.
SPEAKER_03I do know my for the most part. Yeah. Yeah. Listen, one struggle rehearsal isn't the end of the world. We've all been there. I've been there every show. Way to sell the performance in the viewers. Well, so you talked about sort of the difference between a play and a musical. What was it about? Was there anything about The Hobbit in particular that made you go, yes, even though it's a play, I want to do the show? Um, it's such a big story.
SPEAKER_00It's one that everyone knows, and it was like, knowing it was a play, I would love to do something that's not in my comfort zone. I wanted to try out something new that I hadn't really done before, and I think it's been a great experience. I'm very happy that I decided to do it.
SPEAKER_03That's great to hear on my end. I could tell you that much. Nice. Good answer. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Patrick, do you want to chime in at all? I mean, I was gonna ask you if you're ready for the rapid fire section. Oh, are we already there in a rapid fire? Well, I mean, do you think I think it's time. Let me address the notebook real quick. Make sure we're not.
SPEAKER_03That's Patrick's handy dandy notebook because he can't remember his lines. No. Neither can I.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay. I mean, we really kind of hate it all. Look at us go. We really kind of hit it all. We're pretty good at this interview part of the show. Caden, welcome to the rapid fire section. It's our famous section. In the rapid fire section, we will ask you a bunch of questions, and you will just answer them with the first thing that comes to your mind: rapid fire. Yes, no dilly-dallying. Yes. No. None of that. Do you have any questions?
SPEAKER_00Um. Do I get any free food?
SPEAKER_01No. No. Okay. Okay. Alright. Kate Nelson. What is your dream role? Uh, ooh. Uh Augie in Waitress. Okay. Who is more likely to qualify for the Olympics? RJ or Patrick?
SPEAKER_00Patrick, are you directing anything soon? No. RJ.
SPEAKER_01Three for me! Actually, that's not true. I'm co-directing Geysend Dahl senior.
SPEAKER_03But you don't qualify for the Olympics. Next question. Come on, keep it in.
SPEAKER_01So explain your reasoning for why RJ would qualify for the Olympics over Patrick. Um. I need to say RJ's good size.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay. Oh, I already kind of answered this, but I'll just ask it again. I mean, I already kind of asked this, but I'll ask it again. What show do you want to see at the Art Center in the future? Not Wicked. Not Wicked.
SPEAKER_01Um Waitress. Okay. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. If you could have dinner with one celebrity, who would it be?
SPEAKER_00Ooh. Alive or Dead, yeah. Alive or Dead? Yeah. Probably Albert Einstein. I've always wondered like how he was as a person, people. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay. And last but not least, who do you think will win the Miami Grand Prix? Uh.
SPEAKER_00Why are the two teams playing? There's a bunch of different teams because it's for the Reigns. Oh, the Lakers.
SPEAKER_02Thank you, Caden, for doing it. Everyone, please make sure you go see the Hobbit at the Arts Center of Cannon County.
SPEAKER_03Tickets are on sale now. Caden, any last thoughts about the Hobbit that people should know before they come to see it that you want them to know?
SPEAKER_00Uh go see it. It's a great show with great actors.
SPEAKER_03Alright. Boring. Dang, Patrick. Sorry. I thought that was a pretty dang good answer.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03Great show with great acting. What else could you want? That's true. And a really cool dragon. Heck yeah. Yeah. Well, Caden, thanks again for being on this episode of The Castleist, and we look forward to seeing you as Gollum, Pokemon Gollum, and uh Smog here in The Hobbit coming up this weekend.
SPEAKER_04Woo!
unknownWoo!
SPEAKER_03Hot Diggity Dog, what an interview that was.
SPEAKER_02Thank you so much, Caden. You just mentioned you have something to talk about to me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Uh it's uh April.
SPEAKER_02That's what we forgot.
SPEAKER_03Uh so it's tax-free April here. Uh one uh when this episode comes out, you have just a few more days to come into the Arts Center. Uh we cover the taxes on anything in the gift shop, so be sure to check that out. But no.
SPEAKER_02We are not committing tax fraud. We are not committing.
SPEAKER_03We are covering April April. Pay our taxes on with April Summer starts coming. Where are you going with it? The weather starts to turn warmer. Yeah. Weather. Which means hattling weather. I'm putting this into existence. I don't know if it'll be episode 10. But we're coming up. We're gonna have some time. That really creeped up on the river raft. That really creeped up on it. Could be happening really, really soon. I've had students come up to me asking me about the river rafting. Really? Well, they're not going. They said, can you really do it? And I said, How dare you doubt us? The doubt is what motivates. We're gonna have granola bars, some jerky, rough in it. Electrolytes, Pediolite, we're gonna make it in a speaker.
SPEAKER_0240 miles. No. I will be okay. Prediction for how far we actually make it.
SPEAKER_03We should have a contest.
SPEAKER_02I think we have a good hand.
SPEAKER_03We should have a contest of where people think we will make it. And we have to give them some sort of prize. We'll think of the prize. I don't think we'll send something out.
SPEAKER_02I don't think anyone cares enough to like be invested enough to compete for a prize. I think the cast hosters are deeply involved. I think the way they're invested, they're more like, oh, these poor guys.
SPEAKER_03No, they're saying poor you. Because they don't think you could do it, but they think we could do it together. Teamwork. It makes the dream work. Are we getting two kayaks or are we getting one tandem? I don't know. We'll figure that out. Maybe we just take an inner tube. No. Yes. Then we paddle. We swaddle like on our buttons? Like let the river take us.
SPEAKER_02Okay, Pokemon. With all the colors of the wind.
SPEAKER_03Well, this has been a fun episode. I've had a blast. We're gonna die. Well, anyway, we'll come up with uh, you know, uh where you could find the Frenchman's cardboard. Um If you want to be the co-host next episode to interview me, write in. Send us an email. Apply. Caden, thanks for writing. Yep. Audition for a show, come to conservatory, all the things, see the Hobbit, May 2nd and 9th. At 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Yep. Patrick, anything else? You know I feel like your brain has just started to shut down here at the end of the episode.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So much just happened.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Will you go home and scratch uh potatoes ears?
SPEAKER_02We didn't even talk about my dog.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Look, you're slacking this episode, I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_02My dog is constant professional. My dog is doing really well. Good. Yeah, she is awesome. Yeah. I made her an Instagram. I love her that much. Alright, chat. Anyway.
