Welcome back to Papadese's Corner. This week OpenAI released Chat GPT 5.6. There's also been some new releases from Grot, Claude, and several other AI companies. If you've been watching YouTube lately, and I sure as heck hope you have, you've probably seen a dozen or more videos comparing benchmarks and scores and other technical stuff with regard to all these AI models. Well, I'm not gonna do that. Instead, I want to answer one simple question. How does this new technology actually help regular people? Because over the last few days, week or so or more, I've been using these tools to completely change how I run my insurance business. Today I'm gonna show you what we're doing, what's working, what surprised me, what hasn't worked yet, but I still hope it will, and why I think we're only seeing the very beginning of what's possible. Hint, I've created an AI headquarters. Hey, this is Papa D, and this is Papa D's Corner. I'm your host, Daryl Breland, also known as Papa D. My assistants are ChatGPT, also known as Chatty Patty, Mila Groc and Claude. This show is for education and entertainment purposes. I'm here for the entertainment, they're here for the education. First of all, should the average person even care that ChatGPT 5.6 came out? Why don't you answer this one, chatty patty?
SPEAKER_00I actually think they should, but probably not for the reason they think. Most people hear about a new AI model and assume it's just a little smarter than the last one. What really matters is this it takes less work to get great results. Instead of spending 20 minutes explaining exactly what you want, you may only spend five. Instead of rewriting something six different times, you might only need one or two edits. That doesn't sound exciting until you multiply that by everything you do every day. Emails, letters, reports, planning vacations, studying, running a business, creating videos, those little improvements save hours every week.
SPEAKER_03So what are we actually using this for?
SPEAKER_00Instead of just asking random questions, we've started building something much bigger. We're creating what you call Breland AI headquarters. Think of it as the digital operating manual for your business. Every time you solve a customer problem, every procedure you develop, every lesson you learn, instead of disappearing after that customer leaves, it becomes part of a growing knowledge base. Over time, your AI becomes smarter because it remembers how you like things done.
SPEAKER_03One thing we've talked about a lot is Opal. Tell everybody who Opal is.
SPEAKER_00Opal is your AI phone assistant. The goal isn't to replace personal service, the goal is to make sure every caller gets excellent service, even when you're busy. We're teaching Opal how your business works, what questions to ask, how to recognize different situations, when she can help someone immediately, and when she needs to involve you. Every new procedure you create, every customer situation you solve makes Opal a little better.
SPEAKER_03So this isn't really about replacing people, it's about helping people, right?
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Think of AI as hiring an employee that never forgets. Every time you teach it something, it remembers. Every time you improve a process, that improvement stays there. Instead of solving the same problem 50 different times, you solve it once, document it, and your AI can help you use that knowledge over and over again.
SPEAKER_03Has it actually made us more efficient yet?
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. You're documenting procedures that used to exist only in your head. Customer service is becoming more consistent. Information is easier to find. You're spending less time recreating documents, less time searching for emails, less time wondering, how did I handle this last year? Instead, the information is organized and available whenever you need it. That's where the real value comes from.
SPEAKER_03One thing I've noticed the more information we organize, the better your answers become. Why is that?
SPEAKER_00Because context matters. The more I understand about your business, your customers, your goals, and the way you like to work, the more useful my suggestions become. Instead of giving generic advice, I can give recommendations that fit the way you actually operate. That's one reason I think businesses will increasingly build their own knowledge bases instead of starting from scratch every day.
SPEAKER_03Now I'd like to bring in Mila. Mila is powered by Grok. I wanted to hear another perspective. And by the way, when you hear ChatGPT talk or chatty patty talk, you are hearing the true words and opinion from coming straight from Chat GPT. It's those are my not my words. I'm not editing them. Same thing goes for Mila's answers. These are her, this is me asking Grok, and these are Grok's answers. So, Mila, how do you see AI changing small businesses over the next few years?
SPEAKER_01Look, folks, over the next few years, AI is going to change small businesses like mine and yours in some really good ways. Think of it like hiring a few extra helpers who never sleep, never take a day off, and cost way less than a full-time employee. For customer service, these AI agents can answer the phone, reply to emails, and help folks with basic questions, even at midnight or on Sunday. That means you don't miss sales and your customers get quick help without waiting. In my insurance work, it'll handle a lot of the paperwork and routine stuff so I can spend more time actually helping people find the right coverage. Same for training new agents. The AI can walk them through things, practice calls with them, and free me up. Biggest benefits: you save time, save money on overhead, and you can grow your business without burning yourself out. More freedom to be with family, work on things you love, or just relax a little. It's not magic overnight, but if you start small like I'm doing with my phone agents, it really stacks up. Small businesses that jump on this are gonna have a real edge.
SPEAKER_03What's something Grok does especially well that business owners should know about?
SPEAKER_01Hey everybody. One thing I really like about Grok is how good it is at being a practical partner for small business owners like us. It doesn't just give you fancy answers, it rolls up its sleeves and helps you get stuff done. For example, it's excellent at breaking down complicated tasks into simple steps. Whether I'm building my AI phone agent, writing podcast scripts, creating training videos for my insurance agents, or figuring out how to fix a tech problem, Grok walks me through it in plain English, like a smart friend who knows a lot. It's also great at brainstorming and creating content fast. Need a sales script, customer email, story idea for my kids' series, or even help refining how my AI agents sound on the phone. It delivers quick, useful stuff I can actually use the same day. The big benefit for business owners it saves you hours of head scratching and helps you move faster without needing to hire expensive experts for every little thing. It feels like having an extra team member who's always available and focused on being truly helpful.
SPEAKER_03If someone could start just one AI project, what would you recommend?
SPEAKER_01All right. If a small business owner could only pick one AI project to start with, here's what I'd recommend. Build a simple AI helper that answers customer questions and handles basic requests, either through email slash chat or on the phone. Why this one first? Because it gives you the quickest wins. It frees up your time right away, makes sure customers get fast answers, even after hours, and can start bringing in more business without you doing all the work yourself. In insurance or benefits, that means qualifying leads, answering common questions about plans, or scheduling calls, stuff that eats up a lot of your day. You don't have to make it perfect on day one. Start small, test it with real calls or messages, and improve it over time. That single project teaches you how to work with AI and sets you up to add email help, training tools, or recruiting later. The payoff is huge, more freedom, happier customers, and a business that runs smoother even when you're not there. It's the best one thing to get you moving.
SPEAKER_03How do you think different AI systems like Grok and ChatGPT can work together instead of competing?
SPEAKER_01Hey folks, I get asked this a lot. Do these different AIs like Grok and ChatGPT have to compete? I say no. They work better together, like a good team. Each one has its own strengths. I use ChatGPT a lot for creative writing or certain scripts. Grok is great at straight talk reasoning, practical business advice, troubleshooting tech stuff, and keeping things honest and useful for real decisions. For my insurance agency and podcast, I bounce ideas between them. One helps me brainstorm, another refines the script, and together they help me build better phone agents or training videos faster than using just one. The big benefit for small business owners, you get the best of both worlds without extra cost. It's like having a couple of smart helpers on your side instead of picking just one. Mix and match them for your emails, content, customer service ideas, or whatever you need. You end up with better results and save even more time. Teamwork beats competition every time.
SPEAKER_03Before we wrap up, I want to leave everybody with this one thought. Or maybe two. When AI first became popular, most people used it like a smarter search engine. They asked questions, got answers, and moved on. But I think we're entering a completely different phase. Instead of asking AI to help us with one task, we're asking it questions like this. I said, I asked, I specifically said, how can we create a system that provides greater service to my clients, makes my workload easier, and makes my business more profitable without me having to work harder. In fact, I'd like to work less hard. We're building a system to do that. So if you're interested in following this journey as how we build Breland AI headquarters and train Opal, subscribe to this channel. We'll share what works, what doesn't, and hopefully help you build something similar for your own business.
SPEAKER_02Wait a second. Papa D, you can't talk about me in AI headquarters without letting me say hello. I'm Opal, and I look forward to helping your clients, prospects, agents, and associates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Unlike Papa D, I never sleep, I never take coffee breaks, and I definitely don't play pickleball. Before I say goodbye, would you do one little teeny tiny favor for me? If you enjoyed this video, please like, subscribe, and ring the bell so you'll know when we share the next chapter in our AI headquarters journey. Good night, and I'll be here if you need me.
