Humble yourself, therefore, beneath the mighty hand of God. And I see his hand atop your head, and he is stroking your head. You are his favorite son, you are his favorite daughter. Humble yourself beneath the mighty hand of God. Let him love you, that he may exalt you, lift you up to your proper place in due time. How do you do that? The next verse says, Casting the whole of your care on him because he cares for you. It's his job to care for you, not your job to care for yourself. You're too little. I'm too little. We are too little to care for ourselves. And so I invite you right now to use your sanctified imagination. And I want you to see a basket in front of you. And you can do this with your eyes open or closed. Remember, if you're driving, wait until later. But I want you to put all of your cares into that basket. Put your family members, put your past, your present, your future, your education, your work, your health, finances, anything that concerns you, your ministry, questions you have, your friends, your church, your community, anything. And put yourself in that basket as well. Now the word of God also says, to keep the word of God ever before your eyes. Do you know that the word of God is Jesus? John 1.1 says, in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God. Verse 14 says, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. The Word of God is Jesus. Revelation 19, 13 seals it and says, when Jesus comes back, scripture there. Revelation 19, 13 says, His name is the Word of God. So keeping the Word of God ever before your eyes, using your imagination, see the Lord before you. His arms are out. He's waiting for you to cast your cares on him. He's not going to take them from you. You have got to give it to him. This is a free will planet. He's not a puppet master. You have to give it to him. And so on the count of three, using your arms, this has an effect neurologically on your brain that you're actually doing something, which you are, physically mirroring what's happening spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Lift up with your hands that basket. Lift your hands up, lift them up over your head, take a gentle deep breath in. One, two, three, and cast them over onto the Lord. He catches those cares. Take a big no-fishing sign and put them in there. No fishing. You're not gonna fish around in those cares. Unless if you want to play God, I don't think you want to no all those cares belong to the Lord. Now, every empty place where there had been a care, I want you to receive the shalom peace of God right now. Receive from the Lord that peace. Take a gentle deep breath in and exhale, saying, Hallelujah, which means praise the Lord and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, and keeps and guards your heart and mind in the knowledge and love of God.
SPEAKER_00Welcome back, Dr.
SPEAKER_01Thank you, Brother Emmanuel. It's great to be back here.
SPEAKER_00Have you ever found yourself compromising your walk of obedience because of negative influence from a friend or relative?
SPEAKER_01Wow. You know, I can remember a time before I came to the Lord, especially when I did. And the scripture that comes to my mind is 1 Corinthians 15 33. Do not be deceived. Evil company corrupts good habits. And I think the King James says evil communication or evil company, evil communication corrupts good morals. And I can tell, you know, even uh with my walk with the Lord, when I came to Jesus when I was 29 years old, when I was very little, I knew the Lord from the ages of three and a half until six I had visions and I would hear the Lord's voice. I would hear him over my shoulder when I was upset, and I would I would talk to him and I'd see visions, and I was very close to the Lord. But the age of six that wall of separation came up, that age of accountability is called. Paul talks about it in scripture. He says sin revived and I died. That's that age of accountability was a wall. And when I was 29, I surrendered my life and came to Christ. And I would say so much. It depends on what is it that we're allowing into our lives. Are we looking at certain movies or certain things on television or or YouTube or social media that have an effect on us? Now you might think, oh, it won't have an effect on me. Or were you like many believers that I know who are doing yoga, not realizing the influence that yoga has? There are, and remember, I was in it for 22 years from the ages of seven to twenty nine. It led my mother and me away from Christ. There can be just little, little things along the way. Did you know? I'll just throw this out here. You can learn more at praisemoves.com, our fitness ministry. But the poses in yoga are actually offerings to the 330 million Hindu gods. Yeah. So if you want to learn more about that and the Christian alternative to yoga, which is praise moves, go to praisemoves.com and there may even be classes in your area. We have instructors all over the world, and we got free workshops and free classes that you can take online as well. But I know in my own life, Brother Emmanuel, before I came to Christ, I was thinking about this just recently too. When did I start drinking? Drinking alcohol? I was an alcoholic from the ages of 13 until I was 29. The moment the Lord saved me, he delivered me from alcoholism. I never had another drink, never wanted another one. I was a high-functioning alcoholic, but I was dead on the inside. That's how I felt. I really did. And when did I start drinking? Well, I remember when my mother remarried, and I tell you what, my stepsister Sue, my goodness, she was a wild child, I'll just say. She was wild. She was younger than I. She was, I think, 12 and I was 13. But she was used to kind of some racy living. And I was very gullible, very moldable at that time. I had a very secluded life, and then my parents were divorced, and mom and I moved into the New York New York City. You know, I'd been in a very small area and coming into New York City, and I started drinking at the age of 13. Started that lifestyle, death style is what it was. So I would say to look at the influences in your life, because they can absolutely turn you a certain way. And you who are a mother, a father, grandmother, grandfather, and you look at your children, your grandchildren, pray for them. Pray for good influences, good friends, good opportunities to have the positive things, things of the Lord brought into their lives, and you be that good influence for them. I know that you are.
SPEAKER_00Amen. Hallelujah. And that brings us to the end of this episode. Please come next time. Doctor Red will be talking to us in the next episode.
