In this episode, we took the podcast outside and let the conversation go wherever it wanted to go. From the biggest risks we’ve taken, to conspiracy theories, to underrated green flags, and everything in between, this one felt less like a podcast and more like one of those random backyard conversations that somehow turns into a three-hour debate.
No segments driving the discussion.
No destination.
Just authentic conversation, laughs, hot takes, life experiences, and a few moments that had us questioning everything.
Sometimes the best conversations aren’t planned.
They’re the ones that happen when everybody’s comfortable enough to just talk.
Welcome to The Backyardigans.
Welcome to the wholesome menace podcast. I'm your host Risa. This is Steph. And we have Chris Marie. Pow pow it's me to our backyard episode.
SPEAKER_06She did it. That was really smooth. It was. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You think I've been practicing?
SPEAKER_06I'm sure you have been.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_03We know what she has. We know that for a fact. She has not been practicing.
SPEAKER_06Nigga, we're outside. Yeah. I love that for us.
SPEAKER_03It's like the most outside that it gets for me.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. This is good. Yeah. Like good vibes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I think we said that. Our like. This is like early on in the show. We were talking about what a good vibe for us is. And it's not what did I say? Not throwing ones in the club.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's a glass of wine or something like that. Right.
SPEAKER_03Hey, it was fun. You were saying, like, basically, like, this is turning upside shit. This is it for me guys. It's as good as it gets. Maybe we'll go outside and eat once in a while. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And I barely want to do that. I want to be like it. A turn-up would be like traveling to the Caribbean.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. I'd love that.
SPEAKER_06That's like I need to do it very soon. Going outside, and I'm just a different type of Stefan.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Right. This on a regular Tuesday is like what I'd like to do.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Right.
SPEAKER_06Find me. Maybe some hookah, possibly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I've never. I'm not.
SPEAKER_06But you know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Other than that, I'm this is great. Thank you for inviting me.
SPEAKER_03Of course. I just thought it would be nice to just get some fresh air and do something a little different since we've kind of been talking about it, but not doing it. So this was kind of like forced on you guys. But here we are. Thanks for showing up.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Because I almost didn't come. I have no choice. I'll live here. Well, we appreciate you being outside. Thanks.
SPEAKER_06That's not how I feel. I am thrilled when you guys come over.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. All right. Great. Be rude. All right. Well, I have some questions for you guys.
SPEAKER_06Let's run it.
SPEAKER_03So we're gonna get into them. What's a green flag people don't talk about enough? Mental stability. Well, do people talk about that a lot? Maybe. It is mental health month. I think, especially for men, yeah, it's super important. I think it's not talked about enough.
SPEAKER_06You think that's attractive?
SPEAKER_03I think it is. Hell yeah. I think you just show up for people in a different way when your mental health is intact and you're able to control your emotions and things that like that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_06For me, I would say probably like being even cute.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Not having like erratic behavior.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I don't necessarily mean like being boring per se, but like not lashing out. Not lashing out, having self-control.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, for sure. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Is for me when I see that in a woman, that is really attractive. That's a big green flag for me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's nice.
SPEAKER_06She's in a chaotic situation, but she is level. Oh shit, she's dangerous.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, she's dangerous. I love that. You got shit, handle baby. Yeah. For me, I think being considerate and just like attention to detail.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Is a super green flag for me.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I love that.
SPEAKER_06Like men at the grocery store picking out fruits.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, pretty much like that. Or like, you know, once I start, if we're watching a movie, you see me rubbing my feet together, you just get my blanket automatically because you know I'm cold. You know what I'm saying? Like shit like that.
SPEAKER_06I like that. I love that. He's thinking about the blanket before you even sit down.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06He has already.
SPEAKER_03I like knows I'm about to get cold. Right. You know me. Yeah, yeah. It's just like those little things. That's good. Yeah. What life lesson took you way too long to learn?
SPEAKER_04Fuck yourself.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I know. The Rolodex is spitting in my brain.
SPEAKER_03How peaceful it is loving yourself.
SPEAKER_06How you are enough.
SPEAKER_01Not giving a fuck what other people think. Yeah, I love that.
SPEAKER_03That's the main one. Get out of that prison. That's a mental prison. Get out of it. Shit, I've been there.
SPEAKER_06Same.
SPEAKER_03Well, took me too long.
SPEAKER_06How many fucks do you think you've given?
SPEAKER_03Too many to count, motherfucker. Not too many.
SPEAKER_06Tell us about a particular fuck that you gave.
SPEAKER_03Oh heavens. Well, I don't like when people like disrespect me. Or like so pretty much like if you if I know something, I'm asking you something, and you lie to my face. It's pretty much like you're pretty much like calling me stupid because I know this thing and you're still lying to me about it, and I give a fuck about that. Like because now your character is like tarnished with me because you're a fucking liar. And you think I'm stupid. Lashing and crashing.
SPEAKER_06Giving it up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, for sure. Okay. Yeah. I'm not like that anymore.
unknownWhy not?
SPEAKER_03Because I don't like feeling that way. Huh?
SPEAKER_06You don't train for it.
SPEAKER_03No. I just I did like after, so this was like when I was with my twin staff. And after I left him, I just started like meditating and doing yoga and shit like that, and like eating better, and just kind of like like bringing my energy back to myself. Yeah. And like like really sitting with myself, loving myself and shit like that. And it just made me realize that's not a situation that I ever want to be in again. So and I don't like acting like that. Like I really felt like I was gonna hurt him because of the shit we were going through. And the lack of care and respect that he had for me, not only as like a woman that he was dealing with, but even as the mother of your children, like it just was not a good situation. I wasn't safe in that relationship. And I didn't like at the time I'm not seeing it that way, but obviously as I get older and have grown and learned things, I know that that was not a safe relationship for me to be in. He never protected me.
SPEAKER_02So yeah. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. It's like you go through shit and you hurt so much that it's kinda like, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna do that again. I'm not gonna let anybody do that to me again. And it's I'm not saying that's like the healthiest way to be, because you know, I've fucked up situations here and there because of it, but it just is what it is.
SPEAKER_06So that's a good fucking give.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Or not. Don't fucking play in my face.
SPEAKER_06You're protecting yourself.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. No, the fucks that I've given too much of or giving a fuck about people's feelings after they did shit to me, and then I did what I did after that, and then I'm feeling bad. Or what? Niggas wasn't feeling bad. When they was doing a shit to you, even after. Yeah. They usually do after time.
SPEAKER_06You feel like people don't feel remorse when they're like cheating, or they don't mean you think about that.
SPEAKER_03No, I mean maybe some people do, but this you're making a decision to go stick your dick in somebody else, or you know, fuck somebody else as a woman. So it's like in that moment, that's what you want to do. You wanted to do that, you had to make that happen. So the follow-through is like, I'm ready to risk it all.
SPEAKER_01It's wicked.
SPEAKER_06Is it worth it?
SPEAKER_03I guess it depends on who you ask. And maybe the situation. But you know, cheating to me is I hate cheaters, it's never worth it. So no. Because if you're not happy, like just out before just get on out. Yeah. Nobody's forcing you to stay in any relationship.
SPEAKER_04But yeah.
SPEAKER_06I cried when I found out my wife was talking to her ex. I went to my pastor and I cried. And I don't think I ever cried about a woman before.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Like that was me, like, yo, I actually care about this you're right now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That's why I say like I think love is a real thing. Because to feel that bad about somebody that you you know that you love is like a crazy, like Yeah, the words.
SPEAKER_03That shit is wicked. Like someone that you hold hard at the end.
SPEAKER_06What the fuck?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. What happened? Type shit. Like, you know, so that shit is very, very hurtful. Um, you know, when the the most hurtful experience I had is with Zoe's dad, obviously. And like when he left, it was weird because it was like a weight lifted, but also so fucking hurtful. Yeah, like damn, now I gotta live life without this person. Yeah, and not even in just the way. I won't go into full detail just because you know, but the way he did it too. Like, I'm like, come on, nigga. Like I thought we was better, you know. So it's a number of things, but yes, that too. Like, damn, it's really over. Like, we're really done. Yeah, yeah. And we needed, we it needed to separate to. And that it was one of the worst, you know, heartbreaks that I ever felt outside of like losing my grandma. Yeah, that was wicked.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's funny what your heart like gravity towards.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_03Anyway. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Sorry for stealing your segment.
SPEAKER_03Listen, this isn't my segment. We can ask whatever we want. If you want to ask questions, ask them. I just wrote down some questions so we had things to talk about. What conspiracy theory is most entertaining?
SPEAKER_04Conspiracy theories.
SPEAKER_03You know, I'm I love the alien shit. That's my shit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I got a couple. Fuck. Earth being flat, that's always earth is a f is flat. That's a big one for me right now. Yeah. I'm fucked up about that one right now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You fucking else, bro.
SPEAKER_06And also that, like, the devil is real and all that shit is spiritual. All that shit is real.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That also is like, okay, duck and demons and shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_06But and aliens. All of it, bro.
SPEAKER_03What the fuck? All of it. All of it.
SPEAKER_06Why are they lying to us? Just give us the facts. Let us know what the fuck's going on.
SPEAKER_03They will never. Are you crazy? I think the most entertaining for me is like the fallen angel Jerry and all these like stars who like never die and just keep switching. Yeah. And you know, you see the old ass pictures of them and like the paintings. Yeah. And you're always rich or famous.
SPEAKER_06Somebody important.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Right. That's the most entertaining for me.
SPEAKER_06And they always are the people that we worship or like not worship, but like we idolize.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So in a way, yeah, worship.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Stars on the ground and I'm fucked up about that one too.
SPEAKER_03So.
SPEAKER_06Because, alright. I just know that if I got here the same way everybody else got, why didn't I get here in that life?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'm building that life for myself, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But damn.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Where y'all get that vampire juice?
SPEAKER_06Give us the facts. How bad is it?
SPEAKER_03You know what another one is? Dragon blood being gasoline. That's out there, brother. Yeah, these are the most entertaining. Of the giants. Oh my god, the Nephilim love it. I'm so like giant. Obsessed. You know, I love love me some big. Even like when you look at the mountains and like all that petrified shit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I just don't know why they're lying to us. Why?
SPEAKER_03I was watching Rocket Handle the Chass the other day, and they were talking about the earth being flat and shit. And you know, Jim was saying. Jim was saying how niggas was crazy. That is why she laughed because we was like, you know, bro, they were going in. Sorry, Jim was saying how like the in Antarctica, how they don't really want nobody going there and shit like that because you know, he was saying it's a whole another world on the side of it, on the other side of it. Fucking no, bro.
SPEAKER_06So at work. If you look at the old map, there is an old map in my office from the 1900s. Yeah. There is all the I need to see that email. Yeah, please. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Don't tell me.
SPEAKER_03Take a picture. Don't tell anyone. Okay.
SPEAKER_06That's like a prize possession for me right now. Have you guys heard about Tartaria?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06There's a map at my office that has that location.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And it says it's all me makeup. Fucking Latin.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's old, but Tartaria. It's a big ass country.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And where Russian used in that area. What the fuck happened to that?
SPEAKER_03Because even like they changed the names to like to Iraq and all that shit.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they changed the names and shit. I want to go to Persia.
SPEAKER_06Big time. I'm out there. We can go together.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'm out there. Yes.
SPEAKER_03I want to go.
SPEAKER_06Istanbul. I'm living there.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06For a time.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Experience just to experience it. Go get some new teeth. Yes. The whole thing. If I had like the money for real that I know I would be good wherever I'm at, I would, I would leave. Okay.
unknownI think I would.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That's fire.
SPEAKER_03Me too, for sure. I don't listen. You know, I love I love it here. I love where I'm from. I don't hate it, but this country is fucked, unfortunately. I want to eat fruit every day, all day. Because I don't hate it here at all. I want the forest and a beach. Yeah. Whatever. What's I don't want no parts of the jungle? What's me there? What's an unpopular opinion you stand by? Unpopular opinion.
SPEAKER_06Unpopular. It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Very unpopular. Fuck, I don't know. I'm like super interesting. She's like down. Well. Me, I know, because I'm like I I just keep thinking about something just like with racism. I just hate I hate that shit. Yeah. And I just feel like then white people acting like it doesn't exist.
SPEAKER_06It's the thing that they did.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. It's never going anywhere. Everybody hates black people.
SPEAKER_06They did that.
SPEAKER_03Asians, whites, Spanish.
SPEAKER_06All the propaganda has always been to make the black guy look bad.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Undesirable. And why that's that? Subhuman.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_06Now it doesn't exist.
SPEAKER_03But if we want to go back to another entertaining theory, where white people came to this planet through cave systems.
SPEAKER_06Mountains of the Caucasus.
SPEAKER_00Right. Oh my god. Baby is rice-skinned, but not light-skinned. That is a white child. That is Caucasian from the mountains of Caucasus. That is a Slavic baby, a Viking from Iceland.
SPEAKER_03Right. That's crazy. There are aliens out there. I don't know anything about any of this. Got me on. You know I love knowledge. Gotcha. Yeah, I don't know. I hate it though. I can't really think of any unpopular opinions. I don't.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Maybe. My unpopular opinion is a bitch going to get a BBL on wearing a waist trainer to the gym acting like she built that shit. Yikes. Yikes. I mean keep it tight, but don't sit here and act like you was in there building up glutes when you bought them.
SPEAKER_04Building them glutes when you bought them.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Swear bag your clothing.
SPEAKER_03Why?
SPEAKER_06Because it's always the most skin type.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_06Possible.
SPEAKER_03Shutting off that new boy.
SPEAKER_06Well, we're gonna look.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so don't be acting all disgusted. Judgy. Judgy.
SPEAKER_06I don't know, I like my shit naturally.
SPEAKER_03I hear that a lot. A lot of men say that. Alright, next. If y'all want to ask questions, make sure you do. I'm chillin. What's the funniest thing a kid ever said to you? Gotta be some ideas. Gotta be. I think one time she was really mad and cursed. Mommy's stupid. Yeah. Mommy's stupid. But she ain't say that yeah, she ain't say it to you. She said it about you. She put it on the recording on my beard.
SPEAKER_05Because I don't want to cut that belly.
SPEAKER_04What if I melt a little bit of a big thing?
SPEAKER_03Yo, kids are so honest. Yeah. You definitely see I'm working on it. Which is on my stomach, and she's like, why you got all of this? I'm like, because of you. Because of you. Right, bro? Like, what the fuck? What's my excuse? You're welcome.
SPEAKER_06I'm learning my fat fuck ways. Give me a second.
SPEAKER_03Shit.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's wicked. That's funny as hell. Kids are rude, you little fuckers. He's like, bro, what the fuck is this? Yo, get this shit out of here, bro. Give that shit back. They will pop bellies. Right. What's the goal you're chasing that people don't know about? Tell me you secrets.
SPEAKER_06I'm actually working on having less sex.
SPEAKER_01Good for you. How's that going?
SPEAKER_06It's going okay. It's been a lot less in in pastimes. But um I feel the need to like protect my energy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_06And so it's been sporadic when it's happened, but yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Yeah. I'm trying to be less judgmental in this dating thing. That's nice. I feel like you are though already. You are out there, girl. Isn't she? I get yo. You ain't even got one chance. You ain't even got one chance with me, bro.
SPEAKER_06Me a very different perspective on meeting people.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Shine brighter. Sips T.
SPEAKER_03I'm trying, though, because I do be kind of judgy. Yeah. Yeah, I get it. I'm very judgmental. Like I I don't know. I don't know that I come up to school, but like I don't want to deal with anybody like taking the bus. And you don't have to. Yeah, I don't want to do that. Like, I have a car, cool, but I want you to come pick me up too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You don't gotta do it, no.
SPEAKER_06It's a hard one, bro.
SPEAKER_03Bus pass buddy.
SPEAKER_06Speaking from someone who's had to take the bus recently.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It sucks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It is a chore to have to have a two-hour commute.
SPEAKER_03Insane. For what you need to do. Just adding two hours onto your day.
SPEAKER_06You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03One way.
SPEAKER_06One way. So don't got it for you, bro. The time that you spent on the bus is a time we should be spent we should be spending together.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, insane. I don't even have a car and I'm not fucking with a nigga that don't got one. So it's a good one. Yeah, that was a good one. Thanks. Welcome. I don't want to do that. Damn, do I got an answer?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm trying to get into consistently at home, like working out at home. Like I like going to the gym and working out, but I'm not working right now. I can't pay for my membership. So I have to work out at home if I want to lose weight or tone or whatever. Build strength because like my arms and shit are so weak. And so really the goal is to like strengthen my arms, but working out at home is like the the big goal. The main goal, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I like it.
unknownYeah, it's good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. But just be doing that every day. So I'm happy about that. Okay. What's the most ridiculous trend right now? Uh what tell us, Liana. You know what the YNs are doing?
SPEAKER_06I want to say soaking the pineapples in Kool-Aid.
SPEAKER_04Wait, what is the question?
SPEAKER_03I said, what's the most ridiculous trend right now? I'm so out the loop. I have no clue what's going on. Last trend I know was 6'7.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. They're still doing that?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03Apparently I'm so so and fries? Is it fried or fries? You're fries. Like, what's that mean? Like, you're fucking lame.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I'm not with this decoration.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah, you're really not. You're like an old lady for sure. Yeah. That's great. Go for you. What other trends? You don't seem to be missing anything. It's like everybody posts in videos on TikTok or Facebook or Instagram, and like they'll say a thing, and then you think there's gonna be more video, but there's not. Like they're just doing it for view.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, just like bait videos.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. It's just like if you if you're a clickbait and ass, make an ass motherfucker. Fuck you. Fuck you. Clickbait or yeah.
SPEAKER_06I haven't felt the need to post on my TikTok lately.
SPEAKER_03I don't ever post on there. I don't know how to work it really.
SPEAKER_06I wanted to today, but that's just not doing it for you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You know what I mean? I'm doing my life here.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_06They say you just put the camera up anyway, but I don't have the capacity for that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So I don't know. And I know that for me, social media is fun for me, but it's I would much rather be on some farm.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Learning how to, you know, f ferry or be a farrier or some shit like that.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06Even if I got a herding cheap. I'd rather I'd much rather be doing that than getting chasing chickens. That's just what I know that to be real.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. That's a realist.
SPEAKER_03This is for you. What are the biggest icks men have for women? Name at least three.
SPEAKER_06I don't like that.
SPEAKER_03So bad hygiene.
SPEAKER_06If she doesn't have good like addiction, but she doesn't modest me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06She's tacky.
SPEAKER_03Classless.
SPEAKER_06Classless. That's probably like, if not number one, number two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06We like a class you like.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Like, bitch, I can't just bring you anywhere if you acting out a the idea is that we want to take you everywhere because of how you carry yourself.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Men will look at you and see that we have a good thing. And maybe be jealous. Well no.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. You know, can't have it anyway.
SPEAKER_06It's fine.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um three. We love you guys, it's not you can come up with a three.
SPEAKER_03Definitely can.
SPEAKER_06Maybe like money hungry, like tricky type.
SPEAKER_03Sure. Oh that's like shit. Yeah. That's like pretty.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's a good one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like, do you want love or you want this to be a transaction? It's never gonna be a transaction. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06There's very few people in my life that I found the need that I would spend money on you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Like romantic. Like you make me feel bad.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I think it's a I mean if you don't for a man, it's like a lose. So lose lose. Lose money, and she doesn't respect you because she's just popular.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I made a tri a proposition of someone today. And nigga said, I'm that means I'm losing out on product and something else. He said, that makes me a double fat loser.
SPEAKER_04Double fat loser.
SPEAKER_03Yo, I was cracking up in the middle of fucking Michael's paint aisle.
SPEAKER_01Love Michael's paint aisle.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Keysara's like, are you alright? Anyway. Hmm. What's something everyone pretends to enjoy?
SPEAKER_06Coffee.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's an addiction, and I don't want any addicts.
SPEAKER_06I just know that I can drink black coffee.
SPEAKER_03I put you. Oh, you said you put it?
SPEAKER_06I can.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. That's what coffee tastes like. Most people pretend they like it because they add everything else to it.
SPEAKER_03Okay, that's true. I add sugar to mine. I have to have at least that. Not drinking just the plain tea.
SPEAKER_06It means you don't like coffee.
SPEAKER_03Coffee makes me poop.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Makes my belly hurt.
SPEAKER_06It's a diuretic.
SPEAKER_03I love how it smells. Yeah, for sure. I love how it smells too, but I don't like how it tastes. And it tastes how it smells. I don't taste, I don't hate how it tastes. I do. I'm not. I like tea. I love tea. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'm particular about my black coffee. Like it's gotta be some Ethiopian, Sumatra type shit. Yeah. Really, really high grade coffee beans.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, some Colombian shit.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'm gonna drink it because I'm tasting that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Liana, what did I say? What everyone pretends to enjoy. I don't remember. Kids' school events. What would you say?
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah. I hate it.
SPEAKER_03Give Liana the mice.
SPEAKER_06I'm sorry for my dad for having to go sit through those things. They're awful. I hate kids' school events. I don't care.
SPEAKER_03Liana said. Liana said, people pretend to like coconut water? Yeah. Like backwash. It's like real thick.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. H302 is good for you.
SPEAKER_03H302, that's what it is.
SPEAKER_06That's what it is.
SPEAKER_03A lot of it's not real. I was telling her that. I would it's not supposed to be like that.
SPEAKER_06I was telling somebody this. I wish I had the funds to have a crate of them sent to me.
SPEAKER_03Coconuts? Yes. Oh, just coconuts.
SPEAKER_06Just a crate of green coconuts.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And I'd put them in the freezer, and that's what I'll drink.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Because in the cans, they suck.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Everything sucks in the cans.
SPEAKER_06It's bullshit. Actually, it's a real travesty that they found a way to market that stuff. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_03That's survival shit.
SPEAKER_06It's not good.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06So now you got all these heavy metals in your fucking body. Especially when it's really, really cold.
SPEAKER_01Lisa said it's pink.
SPEAKER_06It's supposed to be. Sometimes it's pink, clear. The flesh inside might be a little pink if it's ripening, but when it's still like really green, but it's yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean the the water, like the coconut water. Like once that oxygen mixes with the juice, it turns.
SPEAKER_06For sure.
SPEAKER_03And that's the way it's supposed to be. So when they sell it, it's like still clear. One of them parades was it? I don't know. It was like the West Indian parade in the city. Yeah. My father had a coconut. It was one of the brown ones, the hairy ones, and cracked the open. We had the water with disgusting. Yeah, the jelly. Yeah. Maybe I gotta try the green ones. They have them at Whole Foods.
SPEAKER_06We should try them.
SPEAKER_03We should.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03We should go shop at Whole Foods together.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_03We'll bring the camera.
SPEAKER_06I like that idea.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I don't want to go anywhere. Liana needs to come too. She hasn't been, she's never been to Whole Foods. Oh never been. It is a great place. It's lovely in there. My favorite supermarket. Yeah, mine's too. So we should just all go together.
SPEAKER_06What they did with that space.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. It's lovely.
SPEAKER_06Small Whole Foods.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Right.
SPEAKER_06The big ones are really crazy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they got a big one in the city. Of course. But yeah, I hate Trader Joe's. FYI. Unpopular opinion. They suck. Heathen. Uh-uh. Go inside. We're recording. We'll be in in a little bit and don't be allowed in the kitchen. What's the biggest risk you've ever taken?
SPEAKER_06In twenty seventeen, I quit my job to take on an internship at the church I was going to in Albany.
SPEAKER_03Not paid?
SPEAKER_06Not paid.
SPEAKER_03Risk A.
SPEAKER_06I don't think my spouse was ready for that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That's a big big change. That's a good change. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06There's another one too that I think was also really big.
SPEAKER_01I wouldn't say it.
SPEAKER_06So in 20 West Wellington was probably like a year old, not even a year old, six months old.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And we were trying to at the time follow what we thought was God's calling on our family and go down to Rockman County to help with this church.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And so we sublet our apartment in Cahose and then we moved out. Uh and we stayed at her mom's house. This is like when a lot of the things started going wrong. Because I was working on the weekends. I'd work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_0624s. Just working, working, working. And then on Saturday night, I'd go home, I'd have Wellington, and she'd go to work Sunday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and then follow up. So we thought that it was gonna be a we're doing it for the church. You know, we're gonna be a part of this community, and we're gonna get support, and it didn't happen like that, you know. People have lives going on, I'm not gonna blame anybody.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But I took the risk of moving my family from what was our life being to go do that.
SPEAKER_03And it didn't pan out.
SPEAKER_06One, it didn't pan out, and that led that led to like a whole other cascading issues, which is probably what a large reason why I'm not married anymore.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, damn.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Mine was quitting my state job when I just had Gia. Because I was going through postpartum, and I just I they were fucking with me there anyway, and I was just already depressed, postpartum, regular depression, and I I just quit my job and I let my mom take care of us for a while. And she wanted, she wanted that because she saw me struggle. That was a hard time, and it's just being grown with two kids and then letting my mom take care of me was just a lot, and then eventually I just, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Even before getting out of that dump, just started working, and then she I think she found like some herb or somebody that the same, yeah. And I started taking that and it helped me a lot in the hiking, and then I just got me back finally. So that was just a risk because financially, like, I'm putting that on my mom, and that never feels good. So that's kind of adding to my depression, but also I know I need to fucking tackle that shit because it was to the point where I really would have like put my hands on somebody and that shit. And it's not just because of being depressed, depressed, they was like literally fucking with me to the point where she had to like step in at a point, you know. So yeah. Yep.
SPEAKER_06You feel like you should have stayed.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely not. No, absolutely not, never believe in that job was they hate us there. Yeah, they do, but they didn't fuck you. I want to say it. But I won't. Fuck you all.
unknownFine.
SPEAKER_03That's funny. Yeah. Fucking cold. But anyway, yeah, that was uh risk for me. Yeah. I think the biggest risk I ever took was honestly having kids. And I wanted them so bad.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And now they're 16 and 12. Yeah. I mean, I went into heart failure a few years after my twins and kind of been it's been going on for like six years on and off, but I would never, yeah, I would never change it for anything. I'd do it again. Yeah. So don't do it again. Yeah, I can't. If I I would. I would, but I can't. But I can't even reason. So, yeah, that was for sure the biggest risk for me. But yeah, I love them, Brands. They're awesome. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Alright, I have three questions left. Just hold on. All right, you guys sticking with us.
SPEAKER_06Wonder what this sounds like.
SPEAKER_03I know. Can't wait to hear it, honestly. Hopefully it's not crazy choppy. Yeah, yeah. What's the difference between being loved and being valued? Being loved. I mean, people can love you for for like the things that you do or your personality because of how you make them feel when you're around and stuff, but they don't value like your being or like what you what else you contribute to the world or to even your situation. Yeah, to the relationship. Yeah. Things like that. So you can be loved, but being valued is like, I feel like infinite. Like that's someone like really seeing what you bring good back to their body. Knowing that in each one of those, you know, stages there's something beautiful behind that or of beautiful. And it's not fleety. Yeah, and it's or fleeting, I should say. Yeah. Some people will literally just have you around because what do you do for them? Yeah. Mm-hmm. What do you think, Soph?
SPEAKER_06The first thought that I have is I don't know if I know what love is. Or if I wanna do it right now. Because then I would think there's a difference between love and value.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I feel like if I love you You being who you are, you see the value in people. Everybody's depth is not yours, too. Yeah. So what's the difference between being love and being value? I think that or do you feel there is no difference? I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_06That's what I'm saying. I don't know if there that aside, what the jaded side of me aside, I don't know that there is. I think you I think loving something or or someone is valuing them and giving them some sort of value to you. Yeah. Like that we're family.
SPEAKER_03We've created and it's not always like that. I had a family with my twin's father. That nigga didn't value me. He didn't respect me.
SPEAKER_06That's why I don't know if he loved you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, maybe he didn't love me.
SPEAKER_06That's what I'm saying. Because I understand it that way. I don't know if he did.
SPEAKER_03He didn't.
SPEAKER_06He didn't.
SPEAKER_03And no way.
SPEAKER_06And that's what I'm struggling with, because I know that I in my own life, I know that I actually said I love you. Yeah. So fuck.
SPEAKER_03He didn't love me.
SPEAKER_06Maybe I didn't, and I or I did, and life was just fucked up like that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I loved my baby's daddy. Yeah, me too. Fucking dickhead. I loved him.
SPEAKER_06Maybe I'm deciding if I do very much. Because this person's still alive. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I didn't love myself though.
SPEAKER_06Live with them. That's deep. Yeah. I do love me more than I love them.
SPEAKER_03I loved him more than I loved myself. Yeah. For sure. Put that on a t-shirt.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That's deep.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I think I was there too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I think we've all been there, honestly. At some point with some person. You know? Especially not young. I I was with that when I was 18. I was a baby. But I used to have to tell him. I'm like, bro, I'm not the one for you. You know what I'm saying? Like, you're not happy here. There's no way you can be if you're out here fucking everybody else or trying to talk to everybody else. I mean like girls on girls on girls, like in the phone and shit like that. That's some personal. I'm like, this nigga's gay. What did you what did you ask me, Stephon? What were you just I think everyone's gay. I was uh I met him at a young age.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, do you think he knew that you loved him more than Yeah?
SPEAKER_03Definitely.
SPEAKER_06Everyone fucking knew.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I hated that. I would have the guts to tell somebody. I feel like your priorities are misplaced emotionally.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But that's like love is blind. Ignorance is bliss.
SPEAKER_06She said it's not bliss.
SPEAKER_03It's not. But in the moment. That's why I move the way that I move when I'm gonna, I'm not, don't want to do something with somebody, or they're more into it than I am, or if I feel I'm more into it than they are. I'm very vocal. I'm gonna be like, listen, uh, let's just not even waste either one of our times or anyone's feelings here. I'm gonna go ahead and move around.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you gotta love me more.
SPEAKER_03Two hours to break up with a nigga to his face because I'm just a curdies bitch. She's a lady very, very much so. Cause I you know like never gonna hear from me again.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You gave a fuck. Yeah. I like that. I did. And you know, I don't always love taking the easy way out, karma and shit, so I'm like, fuck it. I knew I had it. That wasn't something I had I could do over a phone call. Yeah, I could, because that's the easy way to do it, but I wouldn't have that wouldn't have yeah, but that was a little different. Yeah, I was like a little invested, yeah, noble. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06It's good stuff.
SPEAKER_03Thank you.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, like you're a nice lot of gold involved for that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, for sure. Let me hold something. Dang an hour. But yeah, I appreciate that. Yeah. I'm just trying to bring some light to this dark fucking world that we live in. Yeah. What's one thing your parents or your parents got right? Burst the fucking legend. Brielle swears she's the goat. Yeah, she might be. But she references herself as the goat. She can't hair. The goat needs her hair done. I feel like the goat. Yes. I feel like what DW got right is showing us what a mother is, how hard a mother goes. Um, how to love unconditionally. Yeah. Um, showing me how to be a real ass bitch. That no hating, jealous ass, weird ass girl. Just cool, just cool. Yeah. Funny. She be chilling, bro. Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_06I think my dad taking me to church at like a young age was what he got, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Because I mean, again, I take my moral compass from that space.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You know. I think that's just a good world view to have in general, but I'm all about the love, joy, peace, patience. I'm all about that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'd rather spend my energy doing that than crashing out.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, hell yeah. I feel like I have the love joy halfway there with the piece. I got no patience.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Gotta build a meter.
SPEAKER_03I gotta. Yeah. I think that's a lie. I have some patience. I have some patience. I don't have a lot of patience for adults, we I always tell you, but for kids, I'm cool.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03But I kept it together. Capit? Capit. Not mute, but real cute. Okay. That's good. Yeah, last one. What hill are you willing to die on?
SPEAKER_01What hill? Like a literal hill?
SPEAKER_03No. Like what is a thought that you have that nobody can make you waver from.
SPEAKER_06Jake is the goat.
SPEAKER_03Yes. For sure. I'm dying. For sure. Aubrey, we love you. The best. He's the best. He's the fucking best.
SPEAKER_06The myth.
SPEAKER_03I'm really the man. The most peaceful person, someone. Not the most people. Yeah, don't say that. I'm not because you know niggas be looking at me like another way sometimes. You know what I'm saying? And I know it's because I'm I'm vocal and I stand on the shit that I say and I'm not with none of the bullshit, but I'm really a fucking very nice lady and a very nice person. You are. You really are. And I and I feel like a lot of people don't really feel like that. So I just want to put that out there, you know? I'm just gonna put the because a lot of people do fuck shit, so they don't get to like experience that real part of you. So it's just like something almost unseen. Like you really gotta know who you are and be around you consistently to know that that's how you honestly are and that I'm not.
SPEAKER_06What you can say is that even in spaces where you're not getting super personal, yeah, if somebody spends any amount of time around you, they will find that you are really good at reading. It's cooking, work, podcasting, you know, whatever you're doing. Yeah, you do it great. Thank you. They might hate that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You're doing it effortlessly, effortlessly. Right? Which is why they probably meet you with some fuck shit off the rip.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. They can't stand that light.
SPEAKER_03They hate it.
SPEAKER_06They hate it.
SPEAKER_03Because, like, come come under this wing. We might come make a you know what I'm saying? That's my thought, but you can't really just everybody ain't even worthy of that, honestly. No, but that's it. I just some shit can't be taught.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, that's very true. Damn, what hill am I willing to die on? Saying good night. What's your hill? I don't know. I should have been thinking about this. This is the question of the night. What's your hill, Liana? That you're willing to die on. I don't care what kind of electrolytes that shit got in it. It's dying. Keep it away from me.
SPEAKER_06Not doing that.
SPEAKER_03Throw it in my smoothie and leave me alone. I'm not gonna draw it.
SPEAKER_06Oh no, okay.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, let's see. Share it.
SPEAKER_06Head is mandatory.
SPEAKER_03In a relationship?
SPEAKER_06In a relationship. I concur.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, me too. I agree. I very much so enjoy it.
SPEAKER_06Yes, it's good stuff.
SPEAKER_03Either way.
SPEAKER_06Either way, spontaneous.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Planned.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_06Understood.
SPEAKER_03Mind, yours. Ours. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Agreed. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06I saw something on Instagram. This girl was chatting, she was like talking about her man and how he told her that she sucked my dick.
SPEAKER_02Oh heaven.
SPEAKER_06And she said she looked at him with disgust because he knew that that was her weak spot in her relationship. But she doesn't like doing that. That's fucked up. And like fast forward, she ended ended the conversation saying that, yo, this bitch might take my man. Because she's doing things that he wants.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Means gargling on a hype explanatory.
SPEAKER_04Anyway. That I mean.
SPEAKER_06It's a different experience for the gargler.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_06Guzzle it. That is tough.
SPEAKER_03Continue.
SPEAKER_06But she was saying that and I thought that it was an interesting thought because he's gonna cheat.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. What you gonna do, bitch?
SPEAKER_06You gonna suck dick or you're gonna Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like just learn. I mean, some girls just really don't like it. Yeah. And probably maybe they don't get it.
SPEAKER_06So it won't be my man.
SPEAKER_03Can't be. Huh?
SPEAKER_06Is it cool to tag a bitch in?
SPEAKER_03That's up to them and their relationship. And um right. That's not even a conversation we're gonna be having. No. You can move around. Basket. I'm telling.
SPEAKER_06Move around, Bucko.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, this is over then if you feel like well, but shit. And then it's like, okay. I guess it if the girl is okay with that, that's between them. Yeah. You don't want to do it, can this bitch do it?
SPEAKER_06That's gotta stay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Are you thinking?
SPEAKER_06Sorry, for man's mind, I'm thinking, I can't wait to do this. Is that what women think about doing that to men?
SPEAKER_03If it's my nigga, yes. I can't wait. Get over here.
SPEAKER_06Yeah? Yeah. That's right. Gotta be my man, yeah. That she's looking for this.
SPEAKER_03Because I don't know. I mean, I'm gonna tell you.
SPEAKER_06Dude, she wants to suck it, bro.
SPEAKER_03She wants to suck it, bro.
SPEAKER_06Cool off.
SPEAKER_03Well, tell him. I don't know. I don't know. Can you get over here so I can gobble or something?
SPEAKER_06That sounds great.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. It created her. You know, I got jokes for dates.
SPEAKER_06We got some of them.
SPEAKER_03Alright, let me just give mine, yeah, before so we can. Good heavens, the fucking neighbors. That's because we were talking shit about them earlier. But anyway. That's why. I think like the main, like the what I'm like real strong is in is I'm not gonna change who I am to make somebody else feel comfortable. And I don't mean that in like oh my fuck. No, not you. Like my faults or whatever. Like there are things that like about myself I can work on, but like who I am at my core and my values and shit like that. Like, I'm not ever gonna compromise my integrity to make somebody feel comfortable around me. If you're not supposed to be here, then you need to get the fuck on. Yeah, definitely. I agree. This guy's a dick. Yeah, for sure. He's doing it on purpose.
SPEAKER_06I nearly did just that. I realized that.
SPEAKER_03You don't need to.
SPEAKER_06I will never compromise.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06What I know to be right.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06For me.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06Evidently, we talked about this. Morality is not absolute. Right should just be right or wrong should be right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But I'm never gonna compromise my entire thing.
SPEAKER_03No. And yeah, you just gotta worry about how you're moving. Strong. Because everybody's not gonna move like that. Yeah. Wow. Those are all the questions I have.
SPEAKER_06That was great.
SPEAKER_03That was a good thing.
SPEAKER_06I like the episode of uh backyard against. Yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_03It's cute. It's cool. Yes. You had to switch it up on your hopper hopefully. Yeah. Well, hopefully they like it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I had a good time.
SPEAKER_03And just get some fresh air. Yeah, it's so nice outside.
SPEAKER_06Thank you guys.
SPEAKER_03Scooch Liana into the camera. I know these days to hit her there.
SPEAKER_06But uh it does air.
SPEAKER_03Stay wholesome, but don't forget to be a menace. Damn! Thank you. You're welcome. It was great.
