Three small things Something smells like cinnamon. Oh hello It's from yesterday I think someone was baking something and the smell just stayed it's still here sort of hanging in the air near the counter I've been sitting on the window seat for a while just sitting not doing anything really and I notice some things three things actually things that are near me right now My breathing's just going I didn't start it I didn't tell it to do anything it was already doing that when I noticed in and out just going slow and easy like it knows what it's doing I quite like that that it just does that all on its own without me having to think about it maybe yours is doing that too just going in and out I think it probably is Muffin's on the big cushion by the window She's got her nose tucked right under her paw and there's this tiny purr so quiet you'd nearly miss it just this little hum she's not doing anything not going anywhere she's just there being muffin on her cushion purring That's a good thing to have nearby something warm and quiet just being itself right next to you I bet you've got something warm near you too The window's right here next to me the glass is cold under my paw but on the other side everything's still nothing's moving out there no wind no sound the trees are just standing there being trees not going anywhere not doing anything just there and the sky it's not dark not light it's that in between bit hasn't decided yet the colour of almost the whole world's just resting right there on the other side of the glass close and quiet and still that's nice I wonder if it's quiet where you are too I think it probably is three things inside me next to me out there I didn't have to go looking for any of them I didn't even have to go anywhere they were all just here the cinnamon still in the air muffins still purring her little purr the world outside the glass is still being still all still just here the cafe's just being the cafe and we're just being here that's enough that's probably more than enough
