Introduction

SPEAKER_05

Yo guys, what is up? Hopefully y'all can hear this and see this. These this is newbie critics. Uh as y'all can tell, if y'all didn't see last episode, I probably sound I probably said the exact same thing last episode. This is your first time seeing us. Wait, there were some technical difficulties. Uh read the descriptions if anyone was confused, by the way. I left uh a comment in the description of why you you couldn't see our faces. But anyways, now you can see our faces. I'm your host, Mitchell. That's my other host, Ray.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm Ray.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, sir, man. So yeah, he already introduced himself last episode, so I'm not gonna really make him do the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

But uh I was born in 2004. Uh uh I'm Asian. Um yeah, I'm not white, I'm Asian. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Now one brother.

SPEAKER_02

All right, that's all I gotta say.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, good, good, good. That's all I like to hear. The first thing I gotta say is um another morning episode, guys. We're staying consistent. Consistency is key, I guess. Uh, but no, seriously, that's not what I was gonna say. Now we're just gonna jump into the podcast, man. Oh, yeah. Like, subscribe, uh, follow, download. I don't know what else you can do, man. Comment, share if you like

This or That?

SPEAKER_05

sharing.

SPEAKER_02

Donate, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Facts, bro. We're college students. Please donate. We need this. Anyways, we'll start off. Uh, first thing I want to ask is we're gonna just do some quick this and that. It's not long questions, it's just short questions. Um when watching a movie, do you prefer a good story or do you more prefer great visuals? Like good story, but the visuals are mid, but mid-story, but great visuals.

SPEAKER_02

Uh the critic side of me wants a better story, truly. I I'd prefer a better story. Like, I could care, you know what? No, I'll say no. I'd prefer a better narrative because I'm still willing to go back and watch like older films, like um 12 Angry Men. It probably has the most like, at least like to this day, the most basic camera work. But the story and the narrative was just so good that I'm like, oh shit, I'm willing to watch it 24-7. Um, so truly in me, I want to say I'd rather watch a movie that has uh a great narrative but mediocre visuals. But don't get me wrong, I will always watch a movie for great visuals. Um, if it has either if it's mediocre but it has great visuals, like I'll let slide. But if it's a terrible story and it looks great, you go go away. Like go back to film school, buddy.

SPEAKER_05

Honestly, I was only asking this question first because I was let's just say doing some research, and I came across this video that said uh I almost called him Christopher Nolan, actually. Yeah, that's the right name. Christopher Nolan, uh the director behind the upcoming movie Odyssey. They were saying they love Christopher Nolan's movies, like they're good, but he was saying character-wise and even sometimes story-wise, it's not movies he would go back and watch really that much. He was saying the visuals are really why Christopher Nolan is renowned as one of the greats. And he says, and he said that the stories aren't bad. Like I said, he didn't say the stories were bad, but he was just saying the stories aren't on the same level as his visuals. So I just wanted to know like, do you think that when you watch Christopher Nolan movies, like that was just the question I had because I didn't I didn't really have an opinion on it, but I just wanted to ask you.

SPEAKER_02

Um so the thing of like again, Christopher Nolan, it's one to me, I know him mainly for his visuals because the Dark Knight, you know, amazing visuals, the upcoming Odyssey. Uh Oppenheimer is also great. But I I do get what people are saying, and that's why I said my take is like it could be a mediocre, um, like a mediocre story, and it could have like the greatest visuals. It's like usually for me, knowing Christopher Nolan, I'm not there to watch it for like fucking what do you call it? What's it uh like like a Hitchcock style narrative, or I'm not there seeing like Sean Baker's style of storytelling. I'm there to watch him because he's a big renowned star, like Michael Bay. Dude, the Transformer movies, mid, they're so mid, some of them are even bad. Um, that's true. But yeah, I watch it for the visuals, similar to some Marvel movies. So you know what I'm saying? Uh I just watch mainly because I want to be astounded by what they can create on camera uh and what visual effects can do truly. And again, I love Christopher Nolan because he tries to make everything practical, like everything's on the scene, similar to what he did for Oppenheimer or Oppenheimer with the explosion scenes. Like he tried to make it all uh what do you call physical effects and stuff like that? And I appreciate it for that. That's why I think he's such a renowned, uh renowned director, because he tries to make everything humane, like something that's possible within the realms of camera work and just trying to different shit out. So again, like I'm not saying Christopher Nolan's a mid-director, not at all. He's astounding and he's great, and he's truly an idol to many people. So some of them might be me. Uh, but yeah, uh, it's like I get it why some people would say that the narrative is mid and like pretty generic, because yes, some of them are like they're just there to like the directors. It's not like he's the only one making the script and writing. He has a whole bunch of teams working on that, and it's not that they're like their main goal is to tell a story and have a visual telling that is affected, and that's what he's doing, he's making it effective. So that's like I'm not gonna say any more until I incriminate myself, but put some respect on my boy Christopher Nola, man. He's made some great stories, yeah.

Trailers (Gatto)

SPEAKER_05

He has. Um, but yeah, honestly, that was good enough. We spent enough time on that, guys. I don't got any more questions. Uh, we're just gonna hop right into the trailers, man. I mean, I had more questions, but that was enough time right then and that was good, man. Uh, we're gonna start off with the trailer everyone has been talking about. Uh the Pixar Gato teaser trailer.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, I'm not gonna lie to you. That out of all the movies that he sent me earlier, that's the movie I'm most excited about.

SPEAKER_05

That and the Spider-Man movie, I'm not gonna lie. Those are my top I'm the most excited to check out. Um apparently it's like Gato? Yeah, Gato.

SPEAKER_02

Spider-Man.

SPEAKER_05

Apparently, it's like a like an Italian movie where the uh cat, Gato, the black cat, is like it's kind of like Remy from Ratatouille coincidence. I just watched that movie last week, where he's wants to be like a musician. That's what I've heard. So I'm guessing this is gonna be a very colorful and music integrated, that's the word I think. Music integrated, sorry if we just went mute music integrated movie, and yeah, I'm excited to honestly just hear that. Usually when Disney, I know this is Pixar, but usually when Disney makes movies with music, I mean recently they haven't been that good, but you know, usually they are good, so I'm hoping this is gonna be a bangers.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, man. It's like um it's like soul and gratitude. We mix together.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Can't wait. I love soul. Uh next.

Tokyo Revengers

SPEAKER_02

I still have to watch it.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, so you would love it, man. Next thing uh Tokyo Revengers, season four, War of the Three Titans arc. Um I am a fan of Tokyo Revengers. I know a lot of people dropped it because they said Takamichi is a crybaby, wham whab, wobsy, wobsy wobsy, wham, wham. And I understand some people don't really like him because of that, but the story is that's another thing. The story in that show after season one, because season one, I think the story's pretty mid, but after season one, they start picking up really quickly. And I know I hear people say the ending is horrid, but as of right now, where I'm at, I just finished like the Christmas arc. I think the dude with like the blue hair they were trying to fight in, which that was a crazy arc. Um, so I'm gonna try to catch up for this season. I think it comes out in October.

SPEAKER_02

So hey, as an avid manga reader for Avengers, dude. I I had my time with that. I love that um manga. I remember when I finished, I was just like, holy shit, I can't because I started reading around the time where um like the current arc was the arc that we're going into now in season four, where Takamichi successfully spoiler alert, spoiler alert, spoiler alert, successfully defeated um Kisaki. And my bad, I just realized. I'm sorry, Mitch.

SPEAKER_05

No, no, no, you're good. I already I already know that like I was I was I'm on that arc, like what you're talking about right now. So I had a figured that was gonna happen.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, cool. Um, but yeah, so pretty much like anything that happens after season three. I don't want to spoil anything, Mitchell. Um, but pretty much like this is gonna be going over so in the first half of the show, it was about um Takamichi and Hina's brother. This time it's gonna be about Takamichi and Mikey. Oh my god, bro. Hold up.

SPEAKER_05

You're good. Yeah, that was the vibe I got from the the trailer. I'm gonna assume that was his sister, guys. She usually does this a lot, to be honest. But yeah, uh Tokyo Revengers is just something we're excited for. I'll just pause there uh and wait for Ray to come back so he can continue talking about that.

SPEAKER_02

But the next thing Sorry, there sorry, there was a demon in my room. Um I just want to make it like brief because I gotta talk to her real quick. Um, but no, yeah, it's gonna be really exciting. Um, the three kings. I feel like you're gonna like one of the three kings there. It's uh she's pretty cool. Uh oh shoot. He they are pretty cool. But not I feel like you'll uh really enjoy the season. It's gonna be really action-packed, and um it's gonna go way, way, way deeper into Mikey's background uh backstory. So be excited for that. I'm gonna let Mitchell talk for a second uh second year, I'll be right back. Okay.

The Last House

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that was the vibe I kind of got from um the trailer. Like Mikey is gonna be more involved in this story. But next thing we're gonna talk about is The Last House. This is a Netflix movie. Um coming out this year, I'm pretty sure. I think in August. But it was like, it was kind of like uh the initial vibe I got was if if it was COVID and we were all stuck in the house, but we literally like couldn't escape the house. It wasn't allowing us to leave. Like somehow when it was COVID, we were just stuck in the house. But then eventually, as I continue to watch the trailer, it was like a different entity, is the reason why they're stuck in the house. And it's not just this family. The last house, by the way, is what this trailer is called. It's not just this family, it's when they looked across the street at their other neighbors, the other neighbors said it's the world. So that is a really interesting premise of why this is going on. I'm guessing it this trailer was very long. That's what I'm just gonna say right now. This was a long trailer, and that's something I really don't like in today's time where our trailers are not that they're long, but that they're long and they pretty much tell you the entire movie. So, like I said, I thought it was originally like not like COVID, but I thought it was just I was just using that as I was just using that as an example because during COVID, we weren't people were stuck in the house. So I thought it was gonna be something like that where people are just stuck in their houses and they can't leave, and we're just gonna see what happens, survival, you know, of the fittest. But turns out it's something like a movie I watched the other day, The Fog, I think that was the mist, the mist. That's what it was called. The mist. I talked about that like three episodes ago, and it's kind of like something is holding, keeping them from going outside. Um, so yeah, that was the vibe I got in the later half of the second half of the trailer, and it does still look like an interesting and good movie. Definitely looked like one of the movies Netflix has been um savoring for a moment like this. I that's not really the right thing to say, but it definitely seems like a movie Netflix is hoping does a really good job with viewership, and it's Netflix, so I think it will do a good job. And yeah, like I said, I believe that movie's coming out in August. And you should definitely check out these trailers. Gato, that movie's coming out next year, so that's I'll be I didn't really say the release date of that, but that's coming out next year. Tokyo Avengers um October, and I believe Last House is coming out in August. Uh the next thing is like my co-host Ray said, uh, the most anticipated trailer of

Sherk 5

SPEAKER_05

the last decade. Uh Shrek 5, man. We're getting another Shrek movie. I don't know who wanted this, bro. I seriously do not know who wants this. This is just how I feel feel when I heard we were getting an Incredibles 2. I was excited for a little bit because I was like, man, Incredibles, I want to see what they're doing. And then the movie was like, alright, it wasn't that bad. But Shrek 5, I don't want this, bro. Neither do I. I'm one of those people where I I understand the animation is changing nowadays. This is how Dreamworks is going. But I still like the older style. But it's better than the first initial trailer. Go back and watch that first initial trailer when they were showing all those Shrek memes, which was a horrible trailer, by the way. Go back and watch that trailer. The they definitely did switch animation detailing. It feels like there's more detail on the characters, pretty much what I'm trying to say. But yeah, I'm I'm excited for I already said no, but yeah, Shrek 5. Uh the the vibe I was getting from it, um, because we didn't see his daughter in this initial trailer, is uh they're going to like this place called Far Far Neverland. I think that's what they said, or the farthest of Far Neverland. I don't know, man. And we're guessing that they're going to go. Not I don't know if they're gonna go save his daughter. I really can't tell, but that that was the vibe I was getting. It was something like a family adventure. Um, I was about to just let him talk about that, but he just left. So never mind, I'll just keep going. But that was just the vibe I was getting from uh Shrek Fob. It's still the same actors that are returning. And yeah, but it's just go watch that trailer. If you don't know why I'm not excited for this or why I really don't care to watch this, I mean I already said this, I don't like I honestly don't care for sequels. Sorry if y'all can hear the outside, but I honestly don't care for sequels after the third movie, but not sequels. I don't care for continuation of continuation of stories after the third movie, but the trailer is just cements it. Well, I was just like, yeah, this does not look like it's gonna be a good movie, but it's a kids' movie. That's the defense everyone says it's a kids' movie, so we'll let it slide. Uh, next thing uh I want to talk about is another Disney

Hexed

SPEAKER_05

movie, but this one's actually coming out this year. Uh uh, I believe Thanksgiving it's coming out. So y'all know Disney does this every year. They have a Disney movie. Last year it was Zootopia. Uh this year it's Hexed. That's what the movie is called, Hexed. Um about this girl who I I don't I really couldn't tell you. This is what I like to see when I watch a trailer, but I'm guessing she has magical powers or she gained magical powers, and she gets transferred into this other world, and that's really all I could tell you about that trailer. Uh go check it out, Hexed. Um definitely looks really good. Animation looks it's Disney, so animation is gonna be good. Do I think because if y'all don't know this, Disney has like been where movies are going up and down, up and down. They're not really having a consistent pattern of how they were even last decade, like in the 2010s. Like it's it's just bad, especially because after COVID and things like that. But yeah, this is a movie that I think is definitely uh something I would recommend to check out uh with your family. At the end of the day, it's a Disney movie, and it trailers seem like it was gonna be a good movie. So yeah, and the last one, the one that no one really cares about. Um we're just gonna end it here, I guess, with these trailers. I don't know if y'all knew this movie was coming out. Oh, what you have something to say?

SPEAKER_02

I'm just gonna throw small things into the things I missed. Sorry, my sister's being a loser. Um, the The Last Home to Something looks cool. I just hope it's not some Netflix trash. Um Shrek Five looks trash. Um Hex. No hate. No hate. It looks AI. Uh and what was the other one that we were talking about?

SPEAKER_05

That was those are the only three I talked about.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, cool, cool.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah. We did talk about Tokyo Revengers. You were gonna say something, but I don't think I remember.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, I just said that it's gonna be hype. It's it's gonna

Spiderman BND

SPEAKER_02

be exciting. Uh now let's talk about the movie that no one cares about.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Um, if y'all didn't know, I just found out the other day. Uh they're making a new Spider-Man movie, guys. It's called Door New Day.

SPEAKER_02

No, literally, bro. It's like I I think tickets dropped for it, and then uh, I guess like I don't know what happened, but like the first day, like they didn't have any seats.

SPEAKER_05

So I don't know if uh I don't know if the theaters canceled it or something or bots are purchasing the tickets, I really don't know.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, people scalping the tickets.

SPEAKER_05

Uh yeah. Um, if y'all didn't know this, uh you might be stupid, or you're living under a rock. But Spider-Man brand new days coming out next month. This is we didn't do a list. I don't pretty sure I'm pretty sure we did not do a list of movies we're we're excited for. Our top 10, but we'll do that next year. But this was a movie that if we did do this, do that this year, this would have been number one on my list. I say this all the time. I could show y'all my Spider-Man blanket right now, but I'm not gonna do that. But yeah, this is just a movie I'm really excited for. I've said this already. This movie will cement Tom Holland, Spider-Man, Peter Parker as the greatest Spider-Man of all time. I've been saying this all this year, so there's not no hot take that I'm just meat riding out of nowhere. I've been saying this this entire year. I said it the other, I said it last time the other Spider-Man movie came out. This is gonna break records. It's or it's gonna make a billion, bro. We already know that.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, I remember in Walk and Talk during middle school, um, I think it was like what sixth grade, seventh grade, I just see Mitchell, and then I remember uh what was it? Civil War was coming out. Oh yeah, and this dude asked me, he's like, dude, uh, I think I like this new Spider-Man dude. I was like, What you like him more than Toby Maguire? He was like, Yeah, man, he looks like a kid like us, and I was like, bro, you were excited for it, man. So he's a real one.

SPEAKER_05

Um he's not my favorite Spider-Man yet. I still have Andrew Garfield, but like I said, this movie can change that a thousand percent. Um, Spider-Man brand new day. If you haven't seen the trailer, um it looks like it's gonna be really good. At this point, they're trying to hide it and keep it a secret. But bro, we know Gene Gray is gonna be like the villain, bro. At this point, it's not even like Sadie Sink. Well, we don't know if she's gonna be the main villain, but it's definitely giving Scarlet Witch she's gonna be the villain. Who knows? Maybe she's being controlled by Doomsday, um, which I would hate. I mean, I wouldn't hate, but I just kind of don't. I don't know. I don't know how I'd feel about that, to be honest. Let me not say I would hate that. But I really just I'm excited, man, for this movie. I'm excited for Spider Man, I'm excited for. For Zendaya. I'm excited for Nate. I'm excited for who else is. I'm excited for everyone, man. Like, I can't wait, man. I really can't wait.

SPEAKER_02

The main thing I'm really excited for about this movie is that the Hulk is back. Uh, thank freaking God. Cause they did my boy wrong. Like, the Hulk was one of my favorite characters growing up behind Thor. And he was close to him. Yeah, dude. I remember seeing him in Endgame, and I was like, bro, what the frick is this, man? I thought that they were gonna like pop him off during endgame.

SPEAKER_05

Even Infinity War.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I thought I well, Infinity War. I was just like, okay, if he doesn't show up here, he's gonna show up in Endgame. And he showed up in Endgame, and I kind of wish he never showed up.

SPEAKER_05

Nice dog.

SPEAKER_00

Strong.

SPEAKER_02

But no, yeah, this time around, I'm really excited because he seems, dude, it seems like they're going back to what was it, Age of Ultron when Bro got taken over. I it feels like a little bit of a cough out for him to come back though, because it seems like it's gonna go back to how um uh what are Scarlet Witch. No, no, how like Scarlet Witch took over him and that's why he's raging.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that is so good.

SPEAKER_02

But I don't care. I I'm glad he's back and yeah, I'm glad he didn't get recasted. It's still Mark Ruffalo, and definitely won't. Yeah, yeah. I hope that I hope that he plays the role for a couple more years because I don't want to change the whole kit. Because I think he looks great as the Hulk, truly.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, he does. He is he's just getting old. That's the only thing. He is getting old. I definitely, yeah, we I I don't know if you knew this, but reports are saying it's already definite that there will be a reboot after Secret Wars, the next Marvel Diggs, which makes sense. Yeah, yeah. I don't know if he's gonna still be playing Hulk there. I mean, they still could, but I don't know if he will.

SPEAKER_02

I I know he's getting old, and I he's like really adventuring to different projects as well. So I appreciate him for that. But then again, like I feel like if you're playing the Hulk, you could be like The Mandalorian, you know, just like play two scenes in real life and then yeah, Hulk is like a virus, so he doesn't die, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So um like it wouldn't make any sense.

SPEAKER_02

Just one more thing I wanted to comment on, dude. I remember when Supergirl was uh hype.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I was hyped for like a little bit.

unknown

Dude.

SPEAKER_05

Now people are just trashing on it.

SPEAKER_02

Spider-Man moged the shit out of them, bro. Because if you look at uh at least like an art theater in AMC, Spider, or it's not Spider Girl, Supergirl probably only has like maybe 15 to like 20 people watching it. And that and it's already been like a month since tickets were selling, which I again I it totally makes sense. She's uh for like it's her first ever like standalone movie. That makes sense, but I'm just like, damn, dude, Spider-Man legitimately like sold out every single theaters that's near us. Uh I looked at the Hampton one too, dude. Not even a single fan event is free, not even a single that's what I was trying to get. Yeah, we have one here, but it's like it's the front seats.

SPEAKER_05

Bro, we're A-listers, bro. They're gone.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, they're gone?

SPEAKER_05

Yes, it's only the disabled seats now, bro. I looked yesterday last night.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, wait, let me not make that joke anymore.

SPEAKER_05

Let me not make that joke. Let me not make that joke.

SPEAKER_00

I'm about to go.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna get canceled, bro. It's GG's for me. No more college.

SPEAKER_00

But um, yeah, man.

SPEAKER_02

Again, I'm really excited for it. Um I again I feel kind of bad for Supergirl coming out like a month right after or right before two peak movies are coming out. So um, well, let's see it. I'm gonna uh make a little bet here, Mitchell. You wanna bet that the Odyssey is gonna be better than Spider-Man?

SPEAKER_05

Brother, I I don't think the Odyssey will be better than Spider-Man. I'll definitely be surprised. I still have to wait. Because I like I like Christopher Nolan, but I will admit, like his last couple movies, I didn't like them as much as his older ones. So that's why I'm like that's the only reason why I'm saying that. Like, they're still good movies, but definitely I say this all the time, bro. I was a Barbie, bro, not no Oppenheimer.

SPEAKER_02

I still have yet to watch the Barbie movie, man. It's been a while. I remember it came out, and I was just like, uh, I'm gonna watch Oppenheimer.

SPEAKER_05

I watched that movie with Nick because I wanted to watch the movie, but I didn't want to watch it by myself because I knew there was gonna be a whole bunch of little girls in the theaters. There was actually a lot of grown people in the theaters which I was surprised by, but probably because I watched it like at nighttime, but it was worth it, man. That movie theater experience was it was hilarious. It was it was so funny. But shoot.

SPEAKER_02

No, yeah, man. But that's all I got for Spider-Man.

SPEAKER_05

Uh shout out to Supergirl, though. I am gonna watch the movie. It is it does suck. Like he said, it is a standalone movie, but people have also been hating on the movie because this happened ever since Captain Marvel had her own movie. If you're a female character, they're gonna be hating on you.

SPEAKER_02

I every single time, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

A female lead, I always see them dragging during a movie. I I've been going on the internet just to see like what are people talking about this movie. They're not even criticizing the movie, they're just calling the actor ugly. Like, that's literally all I keep saying. They're saying she's ugly, they're saying this movie's gonna flop. Like, people, they're not even really talking about the movie, they're mainly just hating on the actor. So I believe her name is Millie Alcock. If I said that completely wrong, it is what it is, but uh yeah, I'm definitely gonna watch the movie, and I don't know, man. If she's ugly, Ray race her hideous, bro. That's all I gotta say. Anyway.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, bro. When we go fishing later, bro, you might be swimming with this.

SPEAKER_05

I'll joke it. I'll joke it. No, no, you didn't do it. But seriously though, uh, Spider Man coming out next month, bro. Get your tickets. If not, you're gonna be waiting until next week, bro. Uh anyway.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, that's next week, man. You're gonna be next waiting until the initial digital, bro.

SPEAKER_05

That crap is packed. We're getting crazy to the cookies. There is

Quickes ( Movie News)

SPEAKER_05

literally not that much, guys, so it's gonna be extremely quick. Uh Michael is officially the most popular music biopic, but pretty much biopic of all time. Uh, sources say it is about to surpass, though, the Odyssey soon in the upcoming week. So, not the Odyssey, my bad. But, oh, oh, yeah. It already surpassed um Rhapsody. Yeah, it is officially the most successful. Uh, yeah, we're on the way of reaching a billion, so that's all I just want to congrats, Michael. We're already getting another one, so I can't wait, man.

SPEAKER_02

Imagine they recast Jafar Jackson.

SPEAKER_05

They better not do that unless that dude like gets a sickness, bro. Like, that would be insane.

SPEAKER_02

A sickness?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I didn't want to say any sickness in general, so maybe it could be like the flu or something. I don't want to say a sickness and then something crazy happens. But, anyways, the next thing is Dead by Daylight. They're making a movie. Oh, it's gonna be by Blumhouse, the same people who brought you Obsession. Um and the director would be Thor Duar or Dawar Paul San. I know I'm saying that wrong. He also made the Valhalla murders, um, and Alexandria Asia and David Leslie, Jonathan McGaudrick, who don't worry, bro. We're trying your best, who wrote and worked on Craw and The Conjuring 2 are gonna be writing the script of Bekin's shooting next year. So if any Dead by Daylight fans are still alive or even still playing that game, hey, don't disrespect us, man. You know what I'm saying? They're happy. I did also see that they did like a mini update where they made the character more like HD.

SPEAKER_02

So oh, good, yeah. It's so right now it's Dead by Daylight's 10-year anniversary, so they're gonna be adding a bunch of things. Um, I think like two days ago, they released a trailer for um Jason Boris to come back or not come back to join the game. Yeah, the only reason why he never joined was because of the Friday the 13th game. So this is gonna be the closest we're gonna get back to that game. That game was amazing. I I miss it. Um, but yeah, I'm I'm excited. I'm excited, dude. Dead by Daylight is actually getting updates, which I'm really happy about. I didn't even better, buddy. Just stay with your mobile game, bro. Bro, get hacked by Chinese governments. I'll never forget you for making me play that game, bro. I spent money on that game. Um I wanted to get the seer. Okay, that makes sense. Um, but no, it truly Dead by Daylight's a great game. You guys should check it out if you're a fan of the horror slasher film, or not films, just John Run the Hole.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And dude, if you're if you're excited for the Dead by Daylight movie, hopefully it's not like the Until Dawn movie. I I hope I I genu God.

SPEAKER_05

I was gonna say, I remember Thomas saying, Hey bro, I'm trying to watch that until dawn movie. It looks like it's gonna be good. I said, No, it doesn't, I'm not watching that. And then he was like, bro, you okay.

SPEAKER_02

I I think that movie was a good standalone film, but the fact that it had the IP and the name of Until Dawn just ruined it for me. Because it had nothing to do with the story of Until Dawn, except for like small little nitpicks. But then again, um, with the my take on Dead by Daylight, I'm I would be really happy if they kept this shit generic, like just normal, like you gotta fix this, you gotta fix this, you gotta go uh fix that, and there's a slasher coming for you. I'm all in. Like, I'm all in. Like if they dude, uh a movie that I feel like it's they should take inspiration from is Fear Street Part 2, dude, because that's pretty much what it feels like. Uh so again, I'm excited. Uh Love Dead by Daylight, and can't believe they have Connie Key in the game.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, I forgot he is also in. Um yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Dead by Daylight if I didn't hear my hot take. Uh but I don't think better. Uh yo, everybody in the comments, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Jump in real quick, bro.

SPEAKER_05

But anyways, uh yeah, I definitely am looking forward to see the seeing this movie. As long as it's not anything like a Saw movie where they just like wake up and they're like in the forest and they're trying to escape. Please don't do something like that. Or something like what's that other movie I saw? Escape Room, where those movies are the same premise, bro, where it's just like we wake up somewhere. Well, Escape Room was actually better. They didn't wake up, but they all were sent to an in a fight to actually go there. And that was actually way better, but still, it's still something generic. But it's a poor movie. Generic doesn't mean bad, it can just mean not amazing. But yeah, honestly, I was gonna go with the other two quickies, but we pretty much already touched on them. Uh Tokyo Revengers is coming October 2nd. Um, we talked about this too. Avengers Doomsday, the Russo Brothers, the directors of that movie and the Secret Wars movie confirmed uh that after Secret Wars there will be a reboot, they're resetting everything. So that was already confirmed. Uh not already confirmed, we already talked about that. So I guess we don't have to dive too deep into that. What'd you say?

SPEAKER_02

Uh factory reset the whole genre.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Um next thing. Uh this a this is an extremely quick one. Uh Dr. Stone is ending next week. Um, I'm gonna I'm gonna binge it this week to catch up. And yeah, I'm really excited for this ending. Dr. Stone, I said this plenty of times, is one of the most underrated anime of this decade. And it's definitely something I'm looking forward to see how they're going to end this. And yeah, that's honestly pretty much it. It is like like this thing says, it's an end of an era. Fire force, like Demon Slayer should already be done, but they're just dragging it at this point. Uh, and a whole bunch of other animes, you know what I'm saying, that are really ending in the next air, Don Don. I really can't.

SPEAKER_02

Is Don Don done already?

SPEAKER_05

No, no, I'm saying like the next era of anime that are coming out. Oh, okay. Like those, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_02

But you said it was ending. I was like, dang, already.

SPEAKER_05

No, no, no, no, it's not ending. But yeah, I'm excited for it. And yeah, I know you don't watch Dr. Stone, but I just mainly just wanted to put that on there for me.

SPEAKER_02

So, no, yeah, yeah. I mean, it's your show.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Um, last one, I should have started the episode at this.

Some NBA talk

SPEAKER_05

Go to your go new go to your go to your go. Hey, the Knickerbockers have officially won the NBA championship. If y'all didn't watch my solo episode, I was literally talking about that for literally the start of the episode. I just finished watching that game three, I believe. Uh, when Wimpy sold. No, no, it was game two when Wimpy sold him. The Aaron Fox sold him.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I know that was game two.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it was game two when Wimby sold. And I just was so hype, and I'm so hype even now. Am I gonna go to the parade, guys? No, I already said I'm not no Knicks fan, man. But yeah, I am. I was rooting for them over the Spurs. I like the Spurs. I like, well, I don't like the Spurs. I like Wimby, Stefan Castle growing on me. Uh the Aaron Fox? The Aaron Fox. I do like De'Aaron Fox.

SPEAKER_02

And he's old, man.

SPEAKER_05

Dylan Harper is actually starting to grow grow on me too, which is actually surprising. I was a little mad because every single time he scored, he would just flex on the Knicks. And I was like, bro, you're a rookie, bro. Like, someone just needs to sock him, like just punch him in his gut or something. Stop making this rookie have this confidence. Like, if I'm a ever when when I become a basketball coach for my daughter's little league, bro, I'm gonna tell bro. If any one of those girls on the other team are too confident, sock him, man. Get that confidence out their freaking face, sock him. I don't like seeing these these jits with confidence, bro. Especially rookies.

SPEAKER_02

Mitchell's trying to make the next Mitchell's trying to make the next Ron Art Test. Meta world peace, man.

SPEAKER_05

Bro, meta world peace. Bro, sock them. I'm sick and tired of seeing these rookies just stand tan toes and just be flexing on y'all like they're vets. But anyways, uh, shout out to Dylan Harper, though. He has been growing on me. And yeah, that's the end of that. Do you have anything to say?

SPEAKER_02

I got a question for you.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, I remember I saw your uh episode and you said uh I'm not a I'm not a Knicks fan, I'm a Kevin Durant fan. Yeah, bro. What are you gonna do when Kevin Durant retires?

SPEAKER_05

I don't know. I'm not gonna lie, I haven't been thinking about that for years. Um my favorite Kevin Durant, um, since I've been like actively watching basketball, my favorite Kevin Durant team, I just really liked him on the Nets. So that is a team I'm thinking about going to back to is the Nets. Because bro, I know he played for the Thunder, but it'd be crazy if I just went to the Thunder. Like, that would be insane. People would just call me a wicked bat band or I can meet right now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Then I can't go to the Warriors.

SPEAKER_02

I've been with OKC. I I've been with OKC since 2012, man.

SPEAKER_05

And then I can't go with um the Warriors. I'm just I just personally don't want to go with that organization. So if I had to choose a choice, it would have to be the Nets. I hated him on the the Sun, so I'm never even I just forgot to exist, bro. So yeah, I definitely would have to go with um Nets. Or if because Reed Shepard is like the only person I like on the Nets, I mean on the Rockets, other than Sengoon. So if Reed Shepard gets better, I might go with the Rockets. But right now I'm thinking about the Nets, man.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, right now it's like you're choosing which college to go to. How long do you think KD got left?

SPEAKER_05

He's gonna be what did Deadpool say, bro? To Wolverine?

SPEAKER_02

Bro, until he dies?

SPEAKER_05

Bro. Till he's 80? No, I don't think he's gonna be there until that long.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say, I feel like KD has like maybe another three years to have.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I I think what I think is really gonna happen, I think LeBron, Steph, and KD are gonna retire at the same time. Or at least or at least they're gonna retire like one year after each other. I really do think that's something that they they're bro, they're legends of this decade. The baton, I really feel like this decade has just been showing us that the baton is being passed forward to the new generation. And yes, we know all the new superstars are saying, I don't want to be the face of the league, I don't want to be the face of the league, but Wimby is someone that is saying he is the face of the league. So right then and there, LeBron, Kevin Durant, Curry, Stephen Curry, they heard that, they seen that, they know that, and that's definitely a sign that they are all three of those people are about to retire. Yeah, like I said, I don't know when definitely, yeah, I agree with you, possibly in the next three years.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I got one more question. Since he said that like the three legends, Katie, LeBron, and Steph Curry, I know they've been playing for like what almost two generations now or two decades.

SPEAKER_05

LeBron has, but the rest of Kevin Durant and them are almost, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Skipping over players like Giannis and um I guess kind of just like Carl Anthony, yeah, Jokic. Who do you think can and will replace the three players that you said in the newer generation?

SPEAKER_05

Uh as in face of the or not even as in face, but as in those three, just as in like generational runs, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So like starting off with starting off with KD and then Steph and then I think who can be this generation's KD?

SPEAKER_05

The closest person I think that could be this might be a hot take. I think Cooper Flag, man. I I I really think Cooper Flag has the potential to be the next uh one of those three. The thing about those three that a lot of people don't understand is it's on the court and off the court what makes them legends, okay? With Kevin Durant, he has his office courts beef with like Twitter and stuff, but like bro, that's like little things. Like no one really cares about. That's not like MJ with gambling, you know what I'm saying? It's not like it was like he was doing something extreme like that. Like, no, it's just his Twitter. So I would say Cooper and Ant, those are the two people I think that can be the generations um what do you call it, Kevin Durant? Stephen Curry. I don't know if we're ever getting that, but I honestly I can't see it. Right right now, I can't pick like a person that I can see that can replace his mantle. If I could see anyone, this is a this might be a stretch for some people. Uh Jalen Brunson. This might be a stretch for some people, but he he's someone I can see that can take. He's he's a le is the leader of the Golden State Warriors, just like he is the leader of the Knicks. He might not be the loudest person in the room, he might not stomp on the back of another of another opponent, but at the end of the day, he gets respect and he is the he is still the leader in the heart of his team, just like Jalen Brunson. So that's someone I can see, I guess, but not really. And then like I already said it already, Wimby. He has the confidence, which I'm still like I'm still trying to get used to that because nowadays you just have these players like Shay, I'm nonchalant, I'm just gonna chill, and I'm nonchalant, I like eating hot Cheetos and Popeyes. That's not racist, he's done it before. They're just also nonchalant, and I I like I like I like nonchalant to an ex to an extent. You know what I'm saying? It's just like if you're dating a girl that's dating someone, you know what I'm saying? You're gonna be cool if the person you're dating is nonchalant after a while, and they're they're letting you like make some of the decisions, but after a while, you're like, bro, like take control. Say you want say you want to be in this just as much as I want to be in this, you know what I'm saying? And that's why I feel like Wimby will be that LeBron. The only thing that will stop Wimby is injuries. It's that's the own that's literally the only thing. Okay, and himself. Those are the only two two two things that will stop him injuries and himself. But yeah, definitely those three people are the people I would name. Uh sorry for rambling on No, no, I ask you that question, man.

SPEAKER_02

Do your thing.

SPEAKER_05

I'm just saying, like, I know this is we do talk, I know this is a movie and entertainment.

SPEAKER_03

Bro, who cares?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'm just saying, I'm just saying, I just think, bro, why are they talking about this?

SPEAKER_02

Just in case we we critique entertainment, and basketball is very much entertaining. So we're gonna cover everything here, uh anything that we're like really excited for and stuff. So hey, all I'm gonna say this now.

SPEAKER_05

I'm taking my hood off, bro. F it. I don't care anymore.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, we're we're not gonna react, right guys? Um but no no, truly though, truly though, it's um whatever happens, it's like I don't want to sound like I'm bousting, I don't want to sound like I'm saying anything, but we really appreciate all you guys. But you're here to hear our takes and you're here to hear us, and you know it you could be outside listening to Joe Rogan or something, but we're out here um talking about things that we're really interested in. But truly, no, we appreciate like dude. Mitchell talking about NBA, I could talk about the UFC for as much as I

Some UFC talk

SPEAKER_02

want to, but I'm not gonna do that because it's not something that you know no frickin' man. Uh I'll I'll talk about it in a later episode. Freedom 250, dude. You know what? Actually, no, let me say one thing. Freedom 250 might be one of the greatest events that the UFC has ever hosted. Um you guys know I'm not the biggest fan of Trump, but that brother showed off, man. Uh 250. We had we had so many title fights, dude. It was kind of crazy. Diego Lopez with a knock, dude. Every single fight was pretty much a knockout, except for no, I think every fight was a knockout. Dude, it was insane. Go watch the highlights for it. Uh, one of the greatest fights of the year, Ilya Taporia versus Justin Gagey. Nine out of ten fight, amazing. And other than that, I don't want to, I don't want to take too much time.

SPEAKER_05

That was we don't stand with their takes though. We don't think Michelle Obama is a man. Okay. Uh that's an option.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, no, I'll say it right now, bro. Josh Hokan is a fucking terrorist, bro. That man is a threat. Like when he was talking uh stuff about like uh chama, this chama that talking trash about Alex Pereira. I was like, bro, what the frick, man? Although Taporia got up, and then like the next post-conference that they did, he said that like he he was even worse. He was like, Oh, Taporia, don't hurt me. Uh uh, you you dated a whore. Uh you like you you uh you divorced a woman from Miami. I was like, bro, what are you talking about? Like this man is a thing. Yes, bro. And then at the end of the fight with him and um who was it, Derek Lewis? Bro, Derek Lewis, he's not in his prime anymore. I'm not I have no room to say, but dude is fat. Like, he has no right, dude. He could he could bro, I'm gonna be completely honest with you. He has no cardio and he couldn't even last like two and a half rounds without gassing out, dude. Josh Hokett is a fucking threat to this world and society. And the fact that bro said Michelle Obama's a man, I'm like, yo, what are like Dana Waddle's like, hey man, you just he just won one of the biggest stages in the world in the UFC, Freedom 250. What do you gotta say about that? I want to take my time and say, Michelle Obama's a man.

SPEAKER_05

I'm like, bro, what's what makes it even sadder, bro?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, bro. Grown man, and you cannot you cannot act like that with the with the American flag on your head, bro. Like it's insane, dude. Josh Hoke is a freaking threat, man. Fricking threat. All right, that's all I got.

SPEAKER_05

Never mind, I'm not gonna say it. Um, yeah, that was the end of, I guess, of our little sports talk, man. So if y'all, if y'all like that, leave a comment below, man. Uh if you don't like it, leave a comment below, man. The comments help us out either way. I don't if you're not gonna comment, leave. Or dislike and leave. I want to see if dislike works. I haven't got any dislikes. Oh, I'm joking. I'll joke.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, Mitchell's hate maxing.

SPEAKER_05

Hollywood agencies are searching Reddit for short stories and ideas that could be turned into movies following the success of backrooms. That is something that I saw like yesterday or like two days ago, and I that was just I was shocked by that. And this could be our big break, right?

SPEAKER_02

It 100% no, I'm telling you, this is this could be a really big break for many small storytellers and creators, but I don't want this to spiral out into something that's just like spit out, chewed up, and reused. Like it's gonna happen. You know it's gonna happen. Uh I know it's gonna happen, unfortunately, because a lot of these production companies are freaking stupid and slow, and where they just pick up anything that's like, oh, uh, here's a here's a two-minute short film about like a really interesting story, but I didn't make it a full production film because I don't know what to do with it. They're like, hey, here's $25 million. Go make whatever you want, and it's like the worst piece of garbage. Uh, I'm like, yo, $25 million, I'm pocketing that. Uh but no, truly, um, again, I like I think it's a great, great, great, great, great way to spin out and create new diverse stories that have been created by fans, smaller creators, and I guess some local creators. But then again, I I just don't want it to be washed up and completely budged out, you know. Um, I'm gonna throw in this small little uh it's not sponsored, but it's just something that I've kind of been interested in. I met this guy named Stephen while walking around. Me and Nick, we were filming something, and then uh he's uh what is it? I think it was an ED or uh writer, and he's creating his own story, and his production company just gave him ten thousand dollars to create it. So I'm really excited what he's gonna do with it. It's just for a pilot episode. And I'm probably I think I'm I I told him, like, hey man, if there's anything you need help with, let me know. So I might be included, I might be included in the in the you know, in the intro.

SPEAKER_05

Just shadow him. That would be good too.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that that's what I've been uh I asked him, I was like, hey, if you guys see pictures, if you guys see any help, like even if you want coffee, just let me know. Like, I'm willing to go do anything. I just want to be a part of a production company that's passionate and created. And dude, um the he also has actors that have showed in some HBO Mac shows, and I think another one was in Amazon Prime. They were mainly just like understudies and minor roles, but it they they have credentials, I don't care. But um I I believe that I think it was either a short film or The Pilot, it's gonna be called whaler whaler something. Let me double check where I'm good.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I was just gonna say, remember those like remember when I was like watching those Smosh videos? I forgot what they were called, but they were like reacting to Reddit stories. I forgot what those things were called. That's what I was just uh yeah. I was just thinking, like, what if they get one of those stories and make that to a movie?

SPEAKER_02

You again, it's just like you could, you 100% could, like, dude. The only problem with it is it's just like if you're gonna make a full production movie out of it, then it's gonna be so hard. Like, you can't like a lot of those Reddit stories could be solved within minutes, and you know, like I know Hollywood and stuff like that, they they know what they're doing, but I just don't want them to like span over this, you know, like it's it's gonna be insane. Also, it was called it was called 72 Wailer by that. Sorry. 72 Wailer, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so if y'all, if y'all know any Hollywood agencies, uh tell them to hit us up. We got plenty of ideas. I am a writer, I can show y'all my script, it's right here. Yeah, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Though we never actually continued working on that, but you know what I'm saying. I still got the script. I got another script of something I wrote.

SPEAKER_00

We still got that ish.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, I was blue, but I talk about I have that script that I wrote too. Uh yeah, man. But yeah, man, if y'all but the thing is, the way I write my scripts are like weird, so that's the only thing. But, anyways, yeah, that was the end of that. Um, and yeah, we're done with the cookies. We're gonna get into the meat potatoes of this episode. Um we're probably not gonna finish this list. This episode. There was supposed this was supposed to be part one, and we're supposed to do part two next, but uh we're probably not gonna have I probably won't have enough time to finish this. So we'll I'll just try to see as much as I can go. And yeah, I'm gonna try to pull up the screen. Uh while I'm pulling it up, I guess Ray, you can just entertain them and tell them what we're about to do.

SPEAKER_02

For real, though. Uh shoot, I don't remember where he sent the thing. I remember he sent it to me a week ago. But um let's go back to the UFC fight. Um, dude, Justin Gagey, go out there, retire strong, brother. Like, I'm not telling you what to do, but go out there, retire strong, because you're like the top of the world. You beat Ilya Taporia, which is what people are saying, the number one fighter of the UFC. Uh, right now. Right now. So go out there, enjoy your life. If you want to throw your belt out in the middle of the fight, then I ain't stopping you. But Jesus fucking Christ, what a fight. Um, Alex Pereira, you need it, you need a you need a fucking you need a rematch, man. Cyril Gunn, Cyril Gain, Cyril Gane, dude. That motherfucker kept throwing that shit behind your head. So he he made some people rich that night, but you made me a very sad man. Sorry, uh, we're just trying to fill in.

SPEAKER_05

Um you're good. I guess I could just explain what we were gonna do. Uh you're good, you're good.

SPEAKER_02

You can you can keep it on. Um, who was it? Uh who for uh Derek Lewis, either retire or get your cardio up, buddy. Go go for a run. Um who else? Oh, Diego Lopez, great job. You showed how good you truly are. Uh uh, Michael Chandler, love you, legend. Retire, buddy. You're you're 40 fighting like 30-year-olds. Like, dog, again, all love to you, but Jesus, man, that that roundhouse kick rocked you, big dog. And a roundhouse kick rocked you. Uh where is it? Oh, there it is. Uh and you know what? If you're out in New York right now, go out there and watch the Rocky Horror Show musical. Dude, it has been popping off, and I forgot his name, but the guy that played Gaston in the live-action um Cinderella, or not Cinderella, uh, Beauty and the Beast movie. Dude, he's killing it, man. He's killing it. Uh, what else do I gotta say? Um I don't have anything else to say. Uh oh, please Spider-Man people. Oh shoot. Spider-Man people, I can see you, yeah. Um please take it easy. Don't throw no popcorn, make it easy for the workers and uh whatever happens, don't get in a fight with some dude that's saying, fucking this movie sucks. Uh, they're probably a lot.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, you can see it. Yep. You can see me?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, okay. I just wanted to make sure. Sorry it took me so long. Um

Save ONE Movie From Each Year

SPEAKER_05

so pretty much what we're gonna be doing is as you guys can see, these are movies from different decades, um, not different years, my bad. And we're gonna pretty much do choose one movie from each year. Um, the way I want to do this is kind of we it's not gonna be separate lists. It's me, this is gonna be our podcast's list. Whether we disagree or not, we're gonna have to agree which one we're going to choose. We have to choose one out of these four movies. So, yeah, it's pretty much like someone runs into your room, they pull a gun in your head and like, hey Ray, right now, tell me which one of these four movies you're gonna choose. And then Ray has to choose. Ray has to choose. There's no, yeah, man. I guess I'll do this one. No, die on this hill, choose the movie. If y'all want to argue, argue. If you don't want to argue, I'm pulling this trigger. Okay, that's how we're doing it, man. Survival of the fittest. Okay, I'll calm down. But, anyways, yeah, though, that's how we're doing it. Um, yeah, that's how we're pretty much gonna do it. If you're still confused about what I just told you, you will see, bro. It's it's it's pretty easy to understand. So I we can start off with the first one, 1975. Yeah, I'll I guess I would name the movies if you can't see them. Uh, can you see them though, Ray?

SPEAKER_02

I can see them, but you you should name it just in case.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, for the people who are watching on Spotify and Apple, by the way. My bad. Uh, so if you want to move to the YouTube channel, this would be the best time to move, honestly, right now. But the first one is 1975, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. That's the first movie. Second one is Jaws. The next movie is uh One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next, and then I leave. I'm pretty sure this movie is Mounty Pylon.

SPEAKER_02

Mounty Python, yeah, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

SPEAKER_05

Sorry, yeah, the lettering is really small, so I can't really see it. Um but yeah, those are the four movies we have to choose. So we're gonna start off with I guess I'll just start off. You were just talking a lot. I'll let you get some water or something. Um the movie I'm choosing, by the way. Some of these movies I have not seen all of these movies. So if anyone's like, dang, y'all watch all these. No, I have not seen all these movies. But the movie I'm going to choose is Jaws. Uh I think story-wise, Jaws is I haven't seen uh the Holy Grail movie or the Cuckoo's Nest movies, so that's why I'm choosing it over Rocky's Horror Story. I think Rocky Horror Story is a great movie, uh, great songs, great performances. But I just think story-wise, Jaws is more interesting, uh, better for its time, and um just a better movie overall, in my opinion. So I'm gonna go with Jaws. What about you?

SPEAKER_02

Dude, uh I gotta disagree with you. It's 100% going to Jaws.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, I'm kidding. Um, no, it's um One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It's amazing. Jack Nicholson deserved the Oscar for that movie, truly was amazing. Um, but to me, Jaws just felt like a really complete movie. It's something that stood the test of time and made a bunch of people scared of the water. Um, you know, like Mitchell. Uh that's not why, but yeah. But no, Rocky Horror Show, it's a classic, it's more of a cult classic than it is a generational classic. Um, it's not for everybody. And I think there is that, like, if you my take on it is that if you love it, you love it. If you hate it, you're gonna hate it. Uh, and there's really no in between. Um Monty Python, the holy grail, hilarious movie. It's it's have you ever seen that one thing where it's like the black knight saying, like, oh no, my arm got cut off, I'm gonna keep fighting. Yeah, and like, yeah, that's that's where it came from. Oh it's uh it's it's a hilarious movie, don't get me wrong, but it's like, and a lot of the jokes are generational, but I feel like it's just one of those movies that I'm like, I'll put it on just to put it on. But being the newbie critic I am, I gotta get the Jaws.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, we are newbie critics. I love that. Um, yeah. Uh sorry, yeah, Jaws. I actually okay. I I didn't the thing is, this is this is the one I expected us to both agree on. So yeah. Um, next one 1976. These movies are Rocky, okay, Taxi Driver, Carrie, and Outlaw, Jose's Wallers. Uh, I'm sorry if I'm saying that. I'm definitely saying that wrong.

SPEAKER_02

Posey Wales, I think.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I've never watched that.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not, I'm not the biggest fan of uh Western movies.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, uh, I've never seen it either. Um, but I've never even, I'm not gonna lie, I've never even heard of it. Like I've heard of the other three movies, but I've never even heard of that one. But yeah, uh, I guess you start off with this one.

SPEAKER_01

Uh wait wait.

SPEAKER_05

Before you start off, down in the comments, or I guess while you're just watching the video, let us know if there's anything y'all disagree with. Movies we should have added, movies we should watch. Like, if you're like, bro, you don't know what Outlaw Jose Walls is, that's a banger. Like, let us know, man. Like, we're newbie critics, man. We're not Rotten Tomato critics, but yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We're not Joe Rogan podcast, man. Like, we're not complete. Um, but no, uh, going back to the list. Uh, the recency and me, I started boxing, like I said last uh um last week. Wow, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I thought we were gonna agree on this one too.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no. I'm not gonna say it's uh I would say like the me right now, I would go to Rocky just because you know I'm I started boxing and I'm LARPing. Uh uh the movie I would put on all the time here is Carrie. I love Carrie, uh, but I don't think it's the best movie that came out in 1976. And I'm going with I'm going with Clint Eastwood. I'm kidding, no. Uh Taxi Driver is for sure gonna be the winner here. It's such a generational movie. I gotta stop saying generational movie because that means nothing.

SPEAKER_05

Oh to some people, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

To some people. Um, I wasn't even born in this time. But no, Taxi Driver, dude. Once you get into like deeper, dude, shit. I'm I'm old, or no, my parents are old, man. Uh, but sorry. But no, truly, it's I'm giving a taxi driver just because it's it like once you step outside of the Marvel movies and like all the like pretty much the avatars and the big blockbuster movies. Watching Taxi Driver, it's I don't even want to say refreshing. It's gonna be the thing that makes you want to watch more movies, and that's one of the movies that made me want to become a newbie critic. But no, yeah. My my my film teacher from 2022, I think it was. Uh, she made us watch the movie to critique it, and I was like, Oh my god, yeah, yep, yep, I'm all in. So yeah, I'll I'll leave it at that.

SPEAKER_05

Dang, uh, never mind. We still didn't agree. I I haven't seen Taxi Driver though, but I have heard of it. What? Uh yeah, I was gonna go with Carrie. That was gonna be my movie. Um, I just I love Carrie. Even I know some people don't like the 20, I think 2017 or 2011. I don't remember what year it was. Oh, you said yeah, so 2017 remake. I know a lot of people don't probably like that one, but I even I like that one. Uh, I'm excited for I've heard they're making a show, so I'm excited, I'm excited for that. I just I don't know why. I just always liked Carrie. It's just iconic, man. It's really iconic. The pig blood scene, and that was the first time I watched the movie when I was a kid, and I was like, what the heck? Movies have nudity in it? That was like the first time when I when I watched it, and I I that yeah, like you said, a movie that made you want to be a newbie critic. That was one of them. That that carry was it for me. So uh yeah, or what do you want to do?

SPEAKER_02

You want to what do you do you want to battle it out here or what I say we resolve this next week and you should watch Taxi Driver and let me see you change that that opinion. I'm telling you, dude, that that's like the only way we can solve it. Because I can't convince you. Because if I try to convince you and talk a lot about the movie, you're gonna you're you're when you just finally decide to watch the movie, you're gonna be like, oh man, I should have never known this. So I I want you to go in there and watch it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Just just go watch it.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna put that in my notes. But yeah, man. You wanna read the third row, 1977? Oh, sure.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh 1977. We have uh Smokey and the Bandit, I think it is another Western movie. Uh The spy who said you love me. We got Star Wars, The New Hope, Episode 4. And we got Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Third freaking kind. Um, this one it's 100% easy for me. It's Star Wars. Uh, but Close Encounters is definitely like up there. I haven't gotten to see the first two, which is Smokey, Something Bandit, and The Spy Who Love Me. I haven't gotten to watch those yet, but Star Wars, dude. That that look at all the old heads that were born that time. They're all talking about Star Wars. Like, you cannot, yeah, man. And that was the first movie, and they started off with episode four, which is crazy. But like genuinely, it's a great movie, great franchise, and it spawned off one of the most loved pieces of uh fiction of all time. So you cannot go wrong with it.

SPEAKER_05

Um, once again, I'm a Star Wars hater, but I haven't seen the other movies, so I agree with you. It's gonna have to be Star Wars.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you oh, just so we clarify on this. Did you make this list or is this something that you kind of just like threw in?

SPEAKER_05

I made this list. Uh I'll scroll up at the top. Uh yeah, right there. If you want to find the list on Tear Maker, it's this is the title. Uh yeah, watch newbie critics. That's the description. So if y'all want to, that that's what I'm saying. I'm not done making it, but this is just for right now. As you can see, the title of the list, we're gonna go all the way up to 2025. So say the title real quick. Um, oh yeah, for the people I keep forgetting. You're right. Thank you for reminding me. Uh save one movie from each year, 1975 to or like the dash to 2025 tier list uh maker. Uh but yeah, that's the name of the tier list. So yeah, if anyone wants to find it, just look it up. You can make your own list. Now, I will say I did all of all these movies, I put them all up here. If you've done a tier list before, you know you can't just search up a tier list and there's movies already there. Well, maybe you can, but I don't know how to do that. But I did this, I put all these movies here. So if anyone knows how to do the other thing I just said, I guess let me know. But yeah, I put all these movies here. But yeah, that's it. Yeah, Star Wars wins for 1977. And yeah, I all I gotta say is when I was in band, we performed Star Wars and that crap. That's what made me, you know what I'm saying, really um want to check out the movie, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_02

So you know what? For a special, for a special episode. Okay, we watch for you. I'm willing to watch every single scream if you're willing to watch the mainline movies for Star Wars, and we can watch it together.

SPEAKER_05

We can watch it together. I'm not mad, but we can even do that as a live stream.

SPEAKER_02

A live stream, okay. Uh either like a live stream or like a live commentary, bro. I'm down. Like, I'm telling you, uh let's do it.

SPEAKER_05

The only thing is if we do live comments here, I have to edit. I actually have to edit for once.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, you're good. I'll help you out with that.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I was gonna say if you want to do like half the movies and I'll do the other half, we can do that.

SPEAKER_05

I'll be down, you know. We're talking about every screen movie, right?

SPEAKER_02

From the first to the seventh, just with the ones with the numbers.

SPEAKER_05

So, yeah, the first to the seventh.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, I'ma say this now. We're watching every Star Wars too. There's like nine movies.

SPEAKER_05

That's what I was saying. It's like way more.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no. Well, uh, the one only ones I'm making you watch is anything before like the The Last Jedi and stuff like that. The one before the the retcon.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, yeah, I won't be too mad. You know, I'm saying my sister said I should check it out.

SPEAKER_02

So, you know, I don't listen to anything my sister says, but she didn't scream hater versus Star Wars hater, man.

SPEAKER_05

Anyways, the next move, the next list is 1978. Uh, first movie is Grease. Next one is Superman. Uh, fun fact, I actually know who created that image. Uh, next one is Halloween.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, you know them?

SPEAKER_05

I don't know them personally, but when I was in my graphic design class, not not our graphic design class, but I was in my uh typography class. We were um we watched a Netflix video, and the Netflix, the each episode is about a graphic designer, and yeah, we saw she the creator of whoever made that poster. Um yeah, Halloween's the next one, and uh I uh Cheech and Chong up in the smoke. I think that's a comedy movie. So if anyone's offended, you know what I'm saying? Get it's supposed to be funny, right, guys. Um easy choice for me. I love you, Superman Halloween, Grease.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, well, the first Halloween was actually pretty good, but I'm going with Grease too. You can't you can't beat that.

SPEAKER_05

Easy choice for me. It's way too iconic. I love like I said, I love you, Superman. It's it's just way too iconic.

SPEAKER_02

And bro, it's an eo to the first Halloween movie.

SPEAKER_05

I'm sorry, bro. I'm not a fan. You know I don't like horror movies, man. I'm not a fan of Halloween, I'm not a fan of Michael Myers. Wait, that is Halloween, I'm tripping. I'm not a fan of the Friday the 13th movies. I'm not rounded about Scream is I can't scream is lazy, man. I'm sorry, it's just it's better than those movies, but anyways, excuse me. Um, 1979. The next one is Rocky 2. Alien. Um my god, I should have put put a list of these names. Mad Max. Oh, Mad Max. Oh, yeah, Mad Max. Okay, thank you. And Apocalypse Now. You can go first.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Um the the the true heart in me wants to go with Alien, because I love that movie. Rocky 2 may be the better Rocky. Uh Mad Max Generational Classic. Stop saying it, but I don't care, man. I'm not making it. Uh but if you're if you're a real movie nerd, man, you're a movie critic, you know Apocalypse now. It's gonna take that. It's again, it's just one of those movies that's like not for everybody, but you should watch it. But just for the sake of the list.

SPEAKER_05

No, pick whatever movie you want to go.

SPEAKER_02

No, I I wanna go with Apocalypse now. I really do, but I don't really feel that way. It's just like I I want to, but I'm not going to.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

We're going with Rocky 2.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I I actually the only two movies I've seen here is Alien and Rocky II. I haven't seen the original Mad Max. Um, this is the 1979 one, by the way, not the newer ones. Uh, but yeah, I have to go with Rocky II. I definitely do think, like you said, it is the better Rocky movie. So yeah, I guess that that's pretty much it with that. Rocky is the movie we're gonna go with for 1979. Uh do you wanna read the next one?

SPEAKER_02

Uh next one! Oh, this one's gonna be hard. It's gonna be the shining, the blues brothers, raging bull, and Friday the 13th. So uh people are gonna hate me for not going with the shining. I know it. I know it. But I'm gonna be going with the raging bull on this one. It's one of, if not my favorite boxing movies of all time. Robert De Niro. Come on, can't go wrong. Um and the Blues Brothers, I actually haven't seen it yet. And Friday the 13th, it's not even the best one. And it don't even got no Jason in it.

SPEAKER_05

Facts know it's Jason in space.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, don't ever talk to me again, bro. Bro, bro, just said Jason accent. Uh, but no, truly, I'm going with the Raging Bull on this one. Phenomenal film. Um, again, you know, I'll say no. If not for Creed, this is probably the best sports movie of all time. Um and yeah, other than that, The Shining, it's great, Stanley Kubrick, but to me, the effect I only watch it once, maybe like once a year or so. Uh, and I'm not like it's one of those movies I'm like, damn, I'm glad I watched it, but do I want to watch it again? Not really. Um, Friday 13th, you know, it's a it's a it's a slashy movie. It's great.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I was gonna ask you, because you said when you say Creed, do you talk about the first one or because my favorite one is the third one? I mean, I guess it doesn't really matter which one's my favorite, but which one do you think is like the best one? I just I'm just wondering.

SPEAKER_02

Uh the third one was the one with Jonathan Majors, right? Yeah. Uh I gotta say my favorite one's either it's either the first or the third one.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh yeah, I know like they aren't like polished gems, but they're the ones that really recreated the sports movie genre as a whole. And Michael B. Jordan played one hell of a role playing as Creed.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, um and that third one is it's the just the direct uh when it comes to sports movies. That third one, when he said he was really inspired inspired by anime, it's just you don't you don't you don't see anything like that type of camera work or just the scenes, you don't see that in other sports movies, man. So that's why I really like it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and it was the last movie before Jonathan Majors lost his career, unfortunately. Um he's not alive, yeah. Hey, he's 100% gonna be back, but that girl really screwed him over, man. Um but yeah, uh, that's my take. What are you choosing?

SPEAKER_05

Uh haven't seen the raging bull, so I'm going with the shining, but I I don't stand too hard on the shining, so I'm not I will be willing to go with the raging bull for this one. I don't stand too hard with the shining, just like you said. Um I don't stand too hard with that one. So yeah, here is the next one. Actually, I guess I'll just read them off. 1975 was Draws, 1976 is to be determined. Uh, but our two front runners is Taxi Driver, which I did put in my list to watch, and 1977 is Star Wars, 1978 Greece, 1979 Rocky, and 1980s. Oh shoot, my bad um is The Raging Bull, uh starring Robert De Niro. I don't know who that is, brother. What the f.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Uh and it's directed by Martin Swordsazy too, so just like literally wait, well, oh shit. Did I say it wrong?

SPEAKER_05

What?

SPEAKER_02

No, no, okay. I got scared for a second.

SPEAKER_05

Uh next movies, 1981. Escape, uh from New York, The Evil Dead, Mad Max 2, uh, and uh oh shoot, Indiana Jones. Uh I forgot which one it is. Escape from New York Raiders of the Lost Tomb. Boom. That's okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think that's the first one. Um Escape from New York. I think they should rename it to the Knicks winning championship. But no, uh, this one, I'm going with the Evil Dead. It actually break, no, never mind. Indiana Jones. Ah, you know what? Raiders of the uh this one's actually pretty hard, but I'll just go with the uh vote from reality. You know what? No, if you choose either Evil Dead or um Indiana Jones, I'm going whichever one you choose because I I can't I can't choose.

SPEAKER_05

I haven't seen any of these movies, so you have to choose. Bro, are you freaking kidding me, bro? Yes, yeah. So sorry. This is I think this is the only one I haven't seen any of these movies. So you should be.

SPEAKER_02

I guess what is it called? Of like a treasure-seeking movie that you can have.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, okay. Uh 1982. This is probably the hardest one for me so far. Um Blade Runner, the final cut, et the thing, and Annie.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, says my heart, my heart says ET, but my body says the thing.

SPEAKER_05

Well, I'm complete opposite. My heart says E.T. No, my heart says Annie, but my mind says E.T.

SPEAKER_02

Bro. I think we just gotta go with E.T. on this one, man. Because Blade Runner, I I love it, but I like 2042 a little bit more. Um but dude, oh Annie, bro.

SPEAKER_05

The only reason why I actually do agree with you is because I actually do think the remake of Andy with Jamie Foxx with his bad hairline, I think that one is actually a better than the this one. So I guess I do you're right. We but we might have to go with E.T. because I we gotta go E.T. Yeah. You're right, you're right. E.T. man wins 1982. Goodbye, Annie, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if Mitchell wasn't here, the thing is gonna be staying up there, but we gotta go ET. You could have, bro, you could have fought me, bro. Bro, I'm not fighting because we gotta we got an agreement on E.T. And I'm not gonna argue against E.T. because ET is the greatest Steven Spielberg movie of all time. No, I'm gonna actually know it could be.

SPEAKER_05

It actually could be, it's the highest rated one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but my favorite is Jaws.

SPEAKER_05

Also, not mad at that. Next one, you take it away, Ray. You're the goat.

SPEAKER_02

Um, we got Scarface, the outsiders. What is that? Ricky. I don't know if that isn't watched it.

SPEAKER_05

Risky Business.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, risky business and sudden impact. Uh I know everybody's gonna hate on me for this one, but I'm going with the outsiders. I know Scarface is say hello to my little friend. I don't give a freak, man. When when uh what's that one dude? When uh it's not zero, who what whatever the other kid's name is when he died, man. That was so sad. And uh, I think Ralph Macchio's in this movie too, right? And Tyler. I haven't seen any of these movies, bro. Are you freaking kidding me? Bro, are you telling me your teacher never made you watch The Outsiders?

SPEAKER_05

I don't believe so. Like, what is it about? Like it the picture definitely looks familiar, so maybe I have seen it, but I I don't and it it like I said, it looks familiar, but I I don't think I've seen it. Risky Business also, when I was like looking at pictures of it, it was another one that looks familiar too.

SPEAKER_02

But I'm not sure. I'm trying to remember, I'm trying to remember how it went, but it was pretty much like the outsiders is uh the group of friends that's in there, and I remember they were they're just like a bunch of hooligans and stuff, and then one of the picture of the scene because it does sound like something we would watch in school. Yeah, I remember one of the kids here, I think it was Ralph Macchios character. Um, I think he killed somebody, something like that. He's somebody stabbed somebody here. Um, no, no, it was it wasn't Ralph Macchio's character. Um, but somebody killed somebody, and then somebody else died, and then so they were like running away, and then um pretty much what happens is just like they're running away, and then brotherhood stuff, and then at some point it gets really deep and really sad, and it's truly the stack this dude. The cast absolut I'm like looking at the stack again, I'm like, dude, this cast is insane. It is it's Matt Dylan, Rob Macchio, C. Thomas Howell, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, and fucking Diane Lane. Mitchell is like uh I don't think they'll lie in that movie. But no, again, it's such a great movie, and uh it's the storytelling, and it's amazing. It it created some of the I guess like the legends of what we have today. So that is true, yeah. No, outsiders, man.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, definitely, like I said, made this list also so I can check out some of these movies. Uh, some of these from movies from these lists I have watched uh recently just to like just so I could have an opinion. But um, okay, the outsiders. I know there's gonna be a lot of people like, what you didn't choose Scarface? I know there's gonna be people saying that. Uh get on my boy Ray. You know what I'm saying? I'm trying to see some arguments.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, bro, get on my boy Mitchell. He didn't even know what he hasn't even watched Scarface.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I'm trying to change the blame. Uh, next one, 1984. We have here who you gonna call Ghost Brown, um, the karate kid, the original, uh, the term and it's uh in Nightmare on Elm Street. Did I do a good job?

SPEAKER_00

Uh that's pretty good, man. Pretty good.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I'm gonna go with once again. He's bigger than me, stronger than me, he's older than me. Older than me. So some stronger than me. His arms might be a little bit longer than me. Bro, I am but he ain't done a JD song with me. I'm not choosing that karate kid. I want the karate kid with Jaden Smith, boy.

SPEAKER_00

I'm choosing F you, bro.

SPEAKER_05

What?

SPEAKER_00

Nothing.

SPEAKER_05

F you I'm choosing Ghostbusters. F, what's that dude that he kept calling him? Uh Master something. I forgot his name.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, uh Master Ugoy?

SPEAKER_05

No, no, no. He called him Sensei something. I can't remember what that Miyagi. Yeah, bro. Master Miyagi wouldn't like that. A trash looking show, bro. But, anyways, I'm gonna go with Ghostbusters, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Don't put no disrespect on my freaking name, man. Don't you put no disrespect in my name? Friday the 13th. Friday 13th, or no, it's not. Why am I saying Friday 13th? I don't know. Everyone else. I rolled on the street. I'm not choosing that movie. It's it's great, it's a great movie. But um, I gotta say, it's definitely the best one out of the entire franchise. I'm going karate kid, man. Wow. I could go with Terminator, but I'm going karate kid.

SPEAKER_05

I've seen all these movies.

SPEAKER_02

This is my opinion.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not mad at it. I'm not mad at it. So you wanna fight?

SPEAKER_02

Bro, of course we're gonna fight.

SPEAKER_05

Try to convince me. Why should I pick karate kid?

SPEAKER_02

No, you convince me why Ghostbusters should win.

SPEAKER_05

I haven't seen Ghostbusters in so long. Bro, no, anything. Okay, let's go karate kid. I'll so fit, I'll stop it. I was hoping that could win.

SPEAKER_02

No, bro. I'm saying Karate Kid is so like don't get me wrong. Standalone Karate Kid, I don't think it would have won, but um, Karate Kid 2 was great. Uh 3 was I don't know why critics hated it so much. It was still pretty good. We're not even gonna talk about the fourth one. Um, but the rise of Cobra Kai, true, like it added so much more to the movie that we have now called Karate Kid, and I'm not talking about the Jaden Smith one. Um, truly, it's such a like, although it's the pinpoint direction of an 80s film, it does the pinpoint reaction to an 80s film amazingly. It's so good. Uh, and the fact that it's like it's created such a strong foundation for what um the pop, I guess I guess like more like the popularization of um mixed martial arts and just uh combat sports in general. Cinema. Cinema. Bro, you cannot tell me when you were growing up and You watch karate kid, you didn't, you didn't, you didn't punch a wall or something. You were like, Hey, look, look, Mr. Miyagi.

SPEAKER_05

That karate kid. Well, the only Jaden Smith I did, though.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, that's not even karate.

SPEAKER_05

I don't care. I saw the Asian baddie, and I was like, just like Jada Smith. She's a minor. I'm talking about when we were kids. You said when we were kids, bro. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Anyways, 1985 is the next one, bro. Well, it's the next year. That's not the next film. Um, Back to the Future. The Breakfast Club, The Goonies, and Clue. I'm gonna let you go first on this one.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, Back to the Future.

SPEAKER_05

The Breakfast Club. I'm going with The Breakfast Club. This is a top 10. This is this movie is in my top 10 movies of all time. Uh, just like when we were talking about earlier, another movie that made me a newbie critic. I love the soundtrack. It it's the same thing like with Scream, where I just love all the characters. And if y'all didn't know this, well, you should know this. I said this plenty of times, I think. Uh I'm very character-driven in my stories. That's why I love but anyways, The Breakfast Club is my pick. Um, the story might not be as good as Back to the Future. I give you that, but the soundtrack is better. The characters!

SPEAKER_03

Don't you ever take out of your freaking life again?

SPEAKER_05

Characters are better. Um, who's more iconic?

SPEAKER_03

Back to the Future.

SPEAKER_02

Debatable. Debatable. Bro, bro, debatable. Does the Breakfast Club have an ongoing frickin' Broadway musical going on right now?

SPEAKER_05

Does the Breakfast Does Back to the Future have detention?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, they literally do in like the second movie.

SPEAKER_05

We're talking about the first one, though.

SPEAKER_02

We're talking about the first one, bro. You know what? Does the Breakfast Club have a time machine?

SPEAKER_05

Does Back to the Future have a Victorious remake episode?

SPEAKER_02

They have references to many other shows. So does back so does the Breakfast Club, bro? Bro, but does the Victorious one correlate anything with the original Breakfast Club?

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Bro, bro.

SPEAKER_05

You're like cleaning like you're like, you've never had a taco when she was like, I'm a virgin, and they're like, You never had sex before. That correlates, you know what I'm saying? So I'm going Breakfast Club, bro. You have to you have to come on my side, bro. This is my top tip, one of my top tip feels of all time.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, I'm punny, I'm gonna correct you. It wasn't even tacos, it was burritos, bro.

SPEAKER_05

I'm pretty sure, who cares, bro? I'm pretty sure it was tacos, bro. But when they're running in the hallway, that scene, I'm talking about Breakfast Club, not Victorious. When they're running in the hallway, those scenes, the the songs, the the characters, freaking when they all started freaking smoking that joint, bro. Like, you're telling me you didn't want to smoke, buddy. You smoke a joint like this, bro. They were smoking it like this, though.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, bro, oh my god, we're gonna argue about this all the time. Bro, let's just play rock races rockers.

SPEAKER_05

The back the oh my god, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Back to the future soundtrack goes absolutely insane.

SPEAKER_05

But I'm taking the Breakfast Club, bro.

SPEAKER_02

The DeLorean Breakfast Club, DeLorean, Breakfast Club, dude. Come on, rock, paper, scissors, do this.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, bro.

SPEAKER_02

All right, on shoot, on shoot. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot. I can't see sorry, that was scissors.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay, okay, rock, paper, paper, scissors, shoot.

SPEAKER_05

Bro, that's cheating.

SPEAKER_00

You did this, and then you find fine, bro. Run it back, run it back, run it back, run it back.

SPEAKER_02

Rock, paper, scissors, shoot, buddy, get caught, get caught in it, yeah. Back to the future, buddy. I I bet you you wish you had a time machine now, buddy. Go back, go back, go back. Just saying, I threw paper, Mitchell threw, um, rock, and you know, back to the future. Yeah, back to the future one, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, I don't care. Get mad at me in the comments, or get mad at Ray, right, guys? Is wrong?

SPEAKER_02

Get mad at me, buddy. What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_05

1986, Top Gun Maverick. Oh, yeah. Uh, Highlander, aliens with an S, not alien. Big Trouble and Little China is uh which one are you going with? What's funny?

SPEAKER_02

Um, I'm buddy. What do you mean? What's funny? Um I'm just gonna go with Top Gun because the only other movie I watched here was Big Trouble and Little China. Big Big Trouble and Little China. Um, but I I remember watching that movie and I was like, uh, it's it's alright, it's classic. It's uh it's a classic 80s movie. So I'm giving it a Top Gun.

SPEAKER_05

I agree. Uh heard good things about Aliens and Highlander, but I haven't seen those movies. Uh Big Trouble in Little China. I haven't seen it in years.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think that alias movie is the first time we saw like the actual um xenomorph. I I might be wrong. I'm not the biggest um aliens fan, but I think I'm right. I think I might be right.

SPEAKER_05

I think you're right too. Next one, 1987. The Predator, the Lost Boys with Robocop. Dared he dancing.

SPEAKER_02

I'm okay with all of these. Uh Lost Boys, it's it's a great spin-off to different vampire movies. Dude, Lost Boys, it's it's pretty good. It's just watch it. Um, it's about vampires. Um, but I'm gonna go with dirty dancing on this one.

SPEAKER_05

I agree. Um good thing. I agree. I'm going dirty dancing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Predator is cool, but it's just like another one of the run and gun. It's like a it's it's like Rambo.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'm not a no offense to the Schwartz a nigger dude. I'm not a huge fan of him, man. Not a huge fan of him. I'm not a huge fan of his movies. Uh next one. Uh 1988, Beetlejuice, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Coming to America, and Akira.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I'm going with Akira, but Wow.

SPEAKER_05

I I only like Beetlejuice because of the musical, so I was gonna when I first made this list, I was gonna go with Coming to America, but just now I just remembered how good who framed Roger Abbott is, bro.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna be you want me to be you want me to be straight up with you? What I didn't know that was a movie, I always thought that was just a Ride at Disney.

SPEAKER_05

Bro.

SPEAKER_02

I had no idea it was a movie.

SPEAKER_05

That's but um uh the first of its time before Space Jam, you know what I'm saying, where they bring the characters with real life uh people and and they do it so well. Actually, the one it once once you find out who framed Roger Rabbi, that that part really gave me like nightmares as a kid. It's kind of like when you find out who Turbo is from Wreck It Ralph, that also gave me nightmares as a kid, but yeah, uh Beetlejuice is alright, but uh Coming to America's good, one of the funniest uh movies of all time, easily, easily, and I'm not mad at anyone who chooses this. It would definitely be my second choice, and maybe it's just because of right now I'm feeling this, but I don't know why. Right now, who frame Roger Rabbit? I'm a thousand percent going with that.

SPEAKER_02

I'll let you I'll let you have it just because I don't really have a strong feeling about Akira, so I only want to pick this first anime to be had.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Uh and I have watched it over. Yeah, of course, of course. Uh iconic movie. Of course, I iconic movie. No, I'm not saying like it's iconic. It's iconic, the bike ride scene. You see it in every uh not the bike ride scene, but the skid. Um you see it in yeah, in every edit and everything in the movies. Iconic, man. Um next one, you hit this one, Ray. Well, you don't hit it, but just read it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Back to the beauty too. We have the Batman. Do the right thing and the little mermaid.

SPEAKER_05

Which one are you going with?

SPEAKER_01

The Little Mermaid.

SPEAKER_05

I'm going do the right thing, man. Shout out to my boy, fellow Nick fan. Well, I'm not a Nick fan, but he is a Nick fan.

SPEAKER_02

I've never watched it, so I can't say.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, uh oh dang, what is his name? Why am I tripping out? Do you know can you tell me his name right now? Tripping out on his name. Um the Nick fan dude, who's also a director. Oh, um Spike Lee? Spike Lee, thank you. Uh Spike Lee, shout out to Spike Lee. Um actually, don't no point in me saying that because I was about to I was about to just say something that was about to sound like hate. But Spike Lee, great director. Uh, haven't seen all his movies, but there was this one movie I saw on Tubi the other day that was like a black musical, and it was directed by Spike Lee. So I'm definitely gonna check that out later uh when I have time. But yeah, shout out to Tubi, bro. They have a lot of Spike Lee's movies. But Do the Right Thing is a classic. It it's hilarious. Um, I love the Batman, and I'm more of a Back to the Future 2 fan. I don't care what anyone says. I still like the first one, but I'm still more of a second one fan.

SPEAKER_02

And okay, we got the first one in there.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. So yeah, you're you're sticking with Little Mermaid?

SPEAKER_02

Uh I'm you can you can have it because again, I've never watched um never watched Do the Right Thing, so I cannot say too much.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's it's uh it's a really good movie, man.

SPEAKER_02

You want to know one of my favorite um uh black mate films?

SPEAKER_05

What?

SPEAKER_02

Don't say from the hood. No, of course, Tales from the Hood is generational classic.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I haven't seen that, but I saw the not Meat Canyon, but I saw the I saw a recap of the Death Counts. Is that what they're called?

SPEAKER_02

Oh Dead Meat?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, Dead Meat.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, we bro, if you're free at all, we should watch it.

SPEAKER_05

What is it called?

SPEAKER_02

Uh Tales from the Hood.

SPEAKER_05

Tales from the Hood, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, just the first one. The second one is eh.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, but pretty much to round it off, our list of the 80s is uh first one was Raging Bull. Sorry if you see these other things there. I can't drag it all the way down. But Raging Bull, next one is Indiana Jones, after that is E.T. Um, The Outsiders, Karate Kid, Back to the Future, Top Gun Maverick, Dirty Dancing, Who Frame Roger Rabbic, Rabbit, and Do the Right Thing. Uh, how much do we have in the 90s? Oh, okay, yeah. Uh, the 90s? Yeah. Uh let me scroll back down. We're uh we're probably not gonna be able to finish the 90s, sadly. Um we actually spent way more time on uh what is it called on the trailers than I thought we would have, but it's alright. Uh whenever we I'll let Ray know whenever we have to stop and for right now, we'll just start off with 1990. Uh Home Alone, The Good Fellas, Misery, and House Party.

SPEAKER_02

I think I you know, I'm gonna say misery, um, but I'm not opposed to Home Alone just because you watch it every single year, and like you really can't go wrong with it.

SPEAKER_05

I was gonna go with house party.

SPEAKER_02

So house party. Yeah, yeah, we're not we're not gonna get in the game.

SPEAKER_05

It's way better than Home Alone, bro. It's way better than Home Alone.

SPEAKER_02

Like, well, I'm I'm talking about misery. That's the one I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Uh, since you gave me the last two, I will give you misery, so you don't have to rock paper and scissors this one, but I definitely would have given it to House Party. Uh iconic, you know what I'm saying? Great main characters. I've seen like all three of them, and it you know how movies are, they get worse as they go. Well, some movies get worse as they go, some actually get better. But House Party, yeah, the other ones get worse, but they're still all funny, and just a great um time when watching the movie. Definitely recommend watching House Party if you haven't seen it.

SPEAKER_01

But we are brown in the new one, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But that that's not a part of that house party. That's like a those are a whole different character.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, shoot.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's that that is yeah, that was like a rebooted version. But that that one isn't that bad though. That one, it's just too long. That one is just way too long. But, anyways, for 1990, we went with misery uh as our choice. 1991, take it away, my boy Ray.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, we got Silence of the Lamb, Beauty and the Beasts, and Boys in the Hood.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna go first, and then I want you to pick. I love you, Boys in the Hood, but I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm going with Silence of the Lambs. I am choosing. I just watched that movie last week. Great movie, great uh the like mystery kind of movie.

SPEAKER_02

Um better long legs.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I like the way I just like the main character and how like everyone around her is like a man, so they think they know more, but she she knows what she's doing. Yeah, like she knows what she's doing. And not trying to make this a man versus female thing, but I'm just saying, like, that's like that was just something I liked in the movie. And golly, I can't remember the actor who played as uh Hancock. Is that his name? I can't remember.

SPEAKER_02

Hannibal?

SPEAKER_05

Hannibal, Hannibal, my bad. Um, but he did a phenomenal job. Uh Anthony Hopkins? Yeah, yeah. I I love the scene when he killed both the cops, those cops are stupid, by the way. But when he killed both those cops, like, bro, it's so stupid. Like, I was watching that movie just laughing because they're so stupid. And Cape Fear is also another movie I watched recently too. That movie is like Robert De Niro is a psycho in that movie. If you you haven't seen it, check definitely a movie I'd recommend. Check it's I don't think it's meant to be funny, but I was dying laughing. I watched that movie. He's such he's literally a psychopath in that movie. Uh, but I'm going with silence of the lamb, so that's my choice for 1991.

SPEAKER_01

I'll give it to you, but I would have gone Putin the Beast.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I know. I know you hit him with Pete, bro.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not gonna lie to you. One of my favorites, no, no, no, I'll give against Silence of the Lamb. But just to me, that scene where they were dancing around the ball, that was to me one of the greatest looking hand animated um like scenes of all time. Buddy, what are you talking about?

SPEAKER_05

I'll just hate it.

SPEAKER_02

Right. I know, dude. She just she is the best to me, Ellie. She sh to me, to me, she is the best Disney princess of all time. And you know what? Best Disney prince as well with the beast, dude. He just loved her.

SPEAKER_05

Heck snow. That dude, he was he was he has some dumb moments. I mean, I guess every dude has some dumb moments, but bro, that created furries, bro. Yeah, that's definitely why we don't like it. Uh 1992, Aladdin. Hopefully, I'm saying this right. Reserve dog reserve dogs. I think I said that wrong. Uh reservoir dogs. Thank you. I know people are gonna freaking laugh at that. Uh Basic Instinct and Home Alone 2.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I would go with Basic Instincts, but it's been a while since I've watched that movie. But I don't know, I'm going to Aladdin. Uh, Home Alone 2 was New York. It's iconic, but I don't think it's the best home alone.

SPEAKER_05

Home Alone 2 is the best home alone. 100%. But I'm choosing Aladdin. Like, shout out to my boy. Rest in peace. Forgot your name. But shout out. Uh, you killed it as the genie. The soundtrack is amazing. Robin Williams. Robert Williams, yeah. Uh, I knew his name was Robert, but I didn't know the last name.

SPEAKER_00

It's Rob Robin Williams.

SPEAKER_05

Robin, Robin, Robin, Robin. My bad, my bad. Um, Robin Williams, my bad. Um killed it in the role as the genie. Iconic, soundtrack iconic. Jasmine, better than Bell. I'm joking. I'm joking.

SPEAKER_03

I'm joking.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god. But in the live action, she is better than Bell. I ain't joking about that.

SPEAKER_00

Swear to God, bro. The more you talk, you're gonna the more you're gonna be swimming with the fishes later.

SPEAKER_05

Well, yeah, for 1992, we are going with our first Disney movie, Aladdin. Woo! Uh 1993, Jurassic Park. Hopefully, I'm about to say this right. Schleiner's List, Groundhog Day, and the nightmare before Christmas.

SPEAKER_02

It was uh Shinder's or Cinder'slist.

SPEAKER_05

Cinder's list, Cinder's List.

SPEAKER_02

Um I have you watched it yet? Shinder's list?

SPEAKER_05

No, I have not seen Cinder's List.

SPEAKER_02

You should watch it because that's what I'm gonna be arguing for. It's I hear I think it's his it's his uh Steven Spielberg's highest-rated movie as well.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, definitely. Um I'm gonna be real. When I was making this too, I was gonna go with the nightmare before Christmas, but something is I'm feeling Jurassic Park, but I haven't seen it. No, that's valid. That's valid. I haven't seen it. Nah, I haven't seen Jurassic Park, I've seen it, but I haven't seen Shinder's list. And like since you gave me two, I'll give you two. You know what I'm saying? But after that, I'm not giving you nothing but back shots. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Next one. Back shots as in like arguing, by the way, guys. That's what I meant. I'll let Ray name these movies, man.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, this is probably one of the greatest years for movie. We got Full Fiction, Lion King, Shawshank Redemption, and Forrest Gum.

SPEAKER_05

Dude. I'll take it away.

SPEAKER_02

You know what? I'm letting you choose this one because I cannot. I I like legally cannot choose anything. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Top 10, another movie that is in my top 10 movies of all time. Pulp fiction. Um I just when I watched it, what I like when I first first watched it, I was honestly confused. I had no idea what was going on. And honestly, don't ask me what was going on, still to this day. But I don't know why. That's why I like it. When I'm watching it, I I love the colors, I love some of the scenes that are shot. I love the two main leads. Uh I almost said Stephen A. Smith. What is his name? Oh my god. Not Nick Fury, right? What is that dude's name? No, it is Nick Fury. His real name isn't Nick Fury. I know.

SPEAKER_00

Come on, bro. I'm gonna I'm gonna let you find this one, big dog.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know if an S. Yeah, Sam Sam Samuel Jackson?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Samuel Jackson.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, Samuel Jackson. And I think the other name, I think the other dude's name is John Travolta. Okay, okay, yeah. I love the two movies.

SPEAKER_02

I was in Greece.

SPEAKER_05

And yeah, this is just a great movie. If you haven't seen Pulp Fiction, a a great movie. Part of the reason why now I have a foot fetish, and Lion King is an amazing movie. I'm choking. I'm joking. I'll chuck it. I'm choking. I so I'm gonna throw that in. Uh Lion King. I should have no, I should have joking. I should have I should have just kept it in. Lion King.

SPEAKER_00

Bro, yeah, he's not joking, guys.

SPEAKER_05

Is a great movie, too. Arguably the greatest Disney movie of all time, including Bizarre. Arguably one of the greatest music soundtracks in a movie of all time. Shaw Shank Redemption has a scene. I'm sorry. It's all My list, but I haven't seen it yet.

SPEAKER_01

So good.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I hear great things. And uh Forrest Gump is another movie that when I watched it, I thought I didn't know any of it was real until like because right when I first watched it, I was a kid. Come now. But then when I watched it again, the order I got, and I was like, dang, these are like real things. Uh brother Tom Hanks honestly carries that movie. Rest in peace, that one dude that dies with him in combat, though. But he honestly carries that movie. But I'm easily going with Pulp Fiction. But you said you don't want to argue on this one? You just go on Pulp Fiction?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, dude. I'm fine with whatever ones here.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Pulp Fiction is our movie for 1994. Uh let us know in the comments because I know that was a banger of a year. Which one would y'all choose? Um, or say why Pope Fiction is the wrong answer. Either way, this is gonna be the last one we do for tonight. For to now. Actually, we only have four more. I can squeeze these four more in. It's alright if I'm a few minutes late. Um Friday for 1995. Friday is the first movie. Jumanji is the second movie. Toy Story, the first one, is the third movie, and Seven is the last movie. Take it away. Oh, okay. That was quick.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I want to go with Jumanji, but it's that's Toy Story.

SPEAKER_05

I'm going Friday.

SPEAKER_02

Which is valid. I'm I'm going to but Toy Story sweeps.

SPEAKER_05

Story-wise, it does. Uh Rock, paper, scissors.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, I'm kidding.

SPEAKER_05

I'm sorry, I'm a toy story three fan. Uh one, one, two, two, three, three, shoot. Oh, I had scissors. Sorry, it's on screen, my bad.

SPEAKER_02

All right, you're good, you're good. Pretty quick. One, two, three, shoot. One, two, three, shoot. Bro, what the frick, man? One, two, paper, scissors, shoot.

SPEAKER_05

Um, yeah, Friday is eliminated. Jumanji is eliminated, and Toy Story wins. I'm a little disappointed there. Uh, 1996. I want my boy to read these movies. Read, read.

SPEAKER_02

Uh we got we got Independence Day. Scream. We got Matilda and Space Jam. Yeah, everybody knows my choose here. I'm going Space Jam. Um, but I'm kidding, alright, dude. Just just bro, we don't even have to talk about it. I already know what you're choosing, buddy.

SPEAKER_05

Scream, scream, scream. Arconic. I'm sorry, Matilda. I'm sorry, Independence Day. I'm sorry, Space Jam. But you know it's Scream. The greatest slasher film, the greatest murder mystery film, the greatest female lead, final girl. I'm taking scream over any movie. Bro, sorry, Space Jam. Bro, scream, scream, scream. Ray was trolling. He ain't taking no space jam. He's taking scream.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, who said I was joking? No, okay. Bro, let's argue for this.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, scream wins, 1996, man. Y'all know how much I love those movies, bro. Favorite movie of all time. Um, 1997. Favorite franchise of all time.

SPEAKER_04

Ooh, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Goodwill hunting, Hercules, men in black. You're good. Um haven't seen Goodwill Hunting. Bro, prick, man. I've heard really, really great things about it, but yeah, I'm sorry. I haven't seen it. I'm gonna go with Hercules though. But if you want to, if you're gonna choose Goodwill Hunting, we can go with that one because I haven't seen it.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, for sure. Bro, it Goodwill hunting is my screen. I'll tell you, bro, I love this movie. And ah, I remember watching it for the first time back in like what was it, like fifth grade? And I was like, man, this movie is boring. There no one's fighting. And I rewatched it again in ninth grade. I was like, damn, bro, this movie's the greatest movie made of all time, dude. I watched it two months ago. I said, damn, man, the greatest movie made of all time.

SPEAKER_05

You say that every time I watch Screen.

SPEAKER_02

I I watched that two weeks ago. I said it's the greatest movie of all time, dude. Yeah, man. Nobody will ever understand me whenever I say Goodwill Hunting is one of the greatest movies of all time. Because it is, truly, it is. It's phenomenal. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were the ones that wrote it. Robin Williams, phenomenal job. It just makes it makes it so much harder to watch him talk blade than he does after you learn what he was actually going through.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Rest in peace. Yeah, man. Rest in peace to an absolute legend. And the the two there when one legend falls, two more arise with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, man.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I thought you were gonna say Mitchell and Ray. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Uh not yet, not yet. We're not legends yet.

SPEAKER_05

I'm a legend.

SPEAKER_02

And guess what? Scream sucks, buddy. Come on.

SPEAKER_05

Good Will Hunting, yeah. I hear great things about it. Definitely a movie I watch. I honestly only gave this to him because he let me have Scream. I would have argued. I would have I would have definitely argued Hercules, guys.

SPEAKER_01

Trust me, but no Hercules is valid, bro.

SPEAKER_05

But Goodwill Hunting, I'm not mad at it.

SPEAKER_01

Um I will find my way. I will go the distance.

SPEAKER_05

Legend. 1998. Blade.

SPEAKER_01

Watcha, wacha.

SPEAKER_05

Rush hour. Mulan. The Bride of Chucky.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, get Bride of Chucky out of here. Um it's gonna be between the two Asians. Um even though Blade is amazing, that intro is probably it's so sick. Yeah, it is the it's the scene that created Aura. Um, but I'm gonna have to go with Mulan!

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. If uh literally, I agree with what you said. I actually do like Bride of Chucky, though. Hot take. But um, I definitely was gonna say it's between those movies. Whichever one you would have gone, I would have gone. I'm gonna be real. So that's how close it is for me. So yeah. Mulan's an amazing movie. If y'all watch that live action, bro, rethink your decisions. Don't watch, like, don't watch that crap, bro. I'm just gonna be real. Um, it will it is a good movie to fall asleep to, though. So if y'all want to check it out for that, the live action. 1999 is the last one on this list. Stack we will do part two sometime in the future. Uh, I'm gonna be working on that later, but we will do part two sometimes in the future. These next couple weeks, we got things building up. Next week episode will be um sorry, I just blinked out. Next week episode will be, I guess it's just to tell y'all this right now. Next week episode, I oh my god, I'm on a broken record. Next week episode will be movies we are excited for in July. And then um the following week, July. Sorry, I had to think about what month that was. The following week, July, it will be uh our it's the halfway point of the year. Well, this month is the halfway point of the year, but it will be ending the halfway point of the year. So I want since it's completely done, I want us to rank our top 10 movies so far that we've seen of this year and see how it will change once we reach December and end off the year. So that will be the first episode of July. Okay, and then after that, we'll probably somehow not somehow, but we'll continue this list. But yeah, for the last one on here, 1999, The Matrix, Fight Club, the Mummy, and Green Mile. The Green Mile.

SPEAKER_02

I'm choosing sorry, I was gonna say I already know what you're gonna choose with.

SPEAKER_05

I'm choosing the Green Mile.

SPEAKER_02

What really?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'll just I think you're gonna go with Fight Club. Nah, I I love Fight Club, but yeah, that's pretty much it. I just like Fight Club. It is it is definitely a great movie, but I'm going with the Green Mile.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, I never thought we would agree on this list. I'm not gonna lie to you. Wow because Green Mile is the winner for me. Yeah, it's dude, the mommy amazing, fight club phenomenal. The matrix, like actually, actually amazing. Because um it is if you the but the thing about the matrix is like it's amazing when you first watch it, but it only gets better the more you study it. Um but the thing about it is Green Mile, it's just again going back to what we started off with the with the first episode, or not the first episode, the beginning of that episode. I'm taking a great narrative over visuals any day. So uh that's why I'm giving it to Green Mile.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, the Green Mile is such a good story, it's actually a really sad story, uh, too. And something I recommend um anyone to watch it, you know what I'm saying? So Stephen King. I didn't even know that. I'm not gonna.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, dude, it's a Stephen King story.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't even know that. But now that I know that even more, it makes sense with it. When he opens his mouth and those like those things come out. So it makes sense now that I think about that. That always felt like weird why not why that was included. But now that now that you mentioned that, it definitely does make sense. Green Mile is so good, probably one of my favorite Tom Hanks acting roles. Uh, I don't think no disrespect to Tom Hanks. He's not he's for me, he isn't the star of this movie, but he is definitely the the lighter to the star, or I guess the lighter to the torch. Uh, but yeah, uh amazing movie. And yeah. I watched I won't forget this is like when I came back from the military, and I wanted to get back to my feelings, back to my uh emotional side. So I was looking up sad movies. This was one of them that popped up, and I said, F it, man, I'll check it out. Uh then sadly, it didn't make me cry. I don't really cry about watching movies, but you know what I'm saying? I did definitely feel some sadness over it. So yeah, great story, man.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, man. Truly, it's such a great film. I want to say uh rest in peace to um Michael Clark Duncan. Uh RP to him. He was the he was the main guy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but um, yeah, dude. What was that one code? It was like, I don't like the darkness. Bro, that shit gets me every time. Yeah, I I like I ball out a little bit there. But yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I don't blame you, man. It's that it's that type of thing. Um, but yeah, that was our 1990s. That was the 90s list. Uh, misery for 1990, 1991 was The Science of the Lambs, Aladdin for 1992, uh Schider's List, Shinder's List? Shinder's List for 1993, my bad. Pulp Fiction for 1994, Toy Story for 1995, 1996, Iconic, Scream, 1997, Good Will Hunting, uh, 1998, Mulan, beautiful, and to end it off here with the 90s, the 1999 film we chose was The Green Mile for things we would choose if we had to save one movie from each year, and the rest of them would disappear forever. So none of those other movies would be created. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Umce this podcast ends, all those movies are gone. They don't exist, like you don't even know them.

SPEAKER_05

But you can't watch them, so you have to watch these movies we just said. Okay, like this, you don't have a choice. Um, but yeah, man, that is where we end it there. Uh, if y'all want the list, I'm probably going to try to link it in the comments. Uh if I can. Did I say comments? Oh, I meant to say in the description. Uh my bad. So, yeah, y'all could probably do your own list there. Send it back to me. You can either email it to me, DM it to me, DM it to Ray. Hit up my boy Ray, too, bro. He's a cameraman, he can do any events you want, birthdays, funerals, anything, bro. Hit up my boy Ray. But yeah, that will be ending newbie critics. What do you gotta say to close out?

SPEAKER_02

Um, who knows? Maybe next week you guys might get a little video from us fishing, if that's what we're doing today. Um, so yeah, you know, if we catch anything, you'll see it in our socials. And uh yeah, keep up with us. We'll keep up with you. Comment down. What movie is your favorite from the 70s, 80s, and 90s?

SPEAKER_05

Facts. That's a great thing to comment. Like and subscribe. Newbie Critics out, man.
