SPEAKER_00

Hey, what's going on, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Talkin' Supes. I'm Ed from Ways of the Sith, and with me today is my co-host. What's going on? We back for another episode. This week's episode is packed. I can guarantee this is probably gonna be at least like a two-hour episode. No, no joke. We got all kinds of stuff from CinemaCon. So we're gonna be going over pretty much everything that was shown off and talked about at CinemaCon, all the new releases of movies and stuff that's gonna be coming for the next year or two, give or take. We got Maul Shadow Lord episodes five and six, and a new episode of Daredevil to talk about, plus our comics of the week and much, much more. So without further ado, let's get into it. Cinemacon happened this past week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Um it was a pack week in Las Vegas. They had CinemaCon going on at the beginning of the week, and then they had WrestleMania going on at the end of the week. Like I can imagine the amount of people there for both things and the crossover between both.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, there were some people. Um I guess you could say friend of the show or whatever. We've talked about them before, but I seen Brandon was there for both too. So I can only imagine, like you said, I can only imagine with how how Las Vegas was very probably happy this week.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they they were packed for CinemaCon. So for those of you guys that don't know or missed the show last week, CinemaCon is a convention for theater owners and media, basically, essentially, where they go and they show off all kinds of new movie releases to theater owners and basically try to show them the slate for the next upcoming year as to like what you guys are gonna have in your businesses, essentially. Um it's a trade show more than anything, but there are a lot of media people that end up going now because it has become a pretty popular event, and uh we got a ton, a ton of new stuff. But uh first things first, let's just get right to it. Cut to the chase. Avengers into the heavy hitters. Avengers doomsday. So they started off this this panel by walking out uh Kevin Foggy and the Russos and Robert Downey Jr. And surprisingly, from everything that I've heard, the big pop came when Chris Evans came out. And like it didn't seem like Robert Downey Jr. and the Russos were doing it for people that like Chris Evans was the one who who really like popped the crowd, which was interesting to me.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it as he should. I I just feel like you know Chris Evans usually as the um he does add a comedia relief to himself, but you know, he's like, you know, he's Captain America, so he's everybody's favorite. So like how could you not like him and how could not you not get yeah, I they knew that that would get those the crowd rallied up, I'm sure they did. And seeing him together with uh Robbie Johnny Jr., they've they've already started the like you say, like the tr they got the train rolling in the Oscars when they brought out the the the anniversary for Avengers and then now seeing them again for the the beginning of showing off this trailer talking about the movie. Yeah, this this was a match made in heaven and as as right as as such.

SPEAKER_00

I thought it was weird though that they because you know we had heard the rumors of there was a tift on on set between two actors, and it wasn't really revealed who it was. And they kind of played that angle up when they came out on stage together, which I thought was a little awkward. It was like if it was a joke, it it might have gone over better, but I I don't know. Like it just seemed like very awkward and and very awkwardly staged. Um so the the footage that was showing off essentially was a montage of stuff that we've seen already: Skyclops with his visor off, shooting sentinels, uh the Magneto Charles stuff that we saw in the X-Men trailer, um Umbaku meeting thing, and pretty much everything from those those four teasers. The main thing from what I heard that got the biggest reaction from people was the ending scene. Apparently, the ending scene of this trailer, which as we're recording right now, it still hasn't come out yet. I'm assuming sometime this week it will be released to the public for everyone to see. But the big moment was Thor trying to attack Doom and basically getting stopped in his tracks. And out of his side comes Steve Rogers with long hair and a long beard, and puts his hand out and reaches for Mo uh for Thor's hammer, and Thor's hammer basically goes to his hand, and we have Thor basically saying to him, That's not possible, and he goes, Good to see you, buddy, and gets ready to fight Doom basically with the hammer and the shield. So for me, that was the moment like when I heard that final bit, I was like, Alright, that sounds cool. But with the rest of the trailer and everything else, I was just kind of like okay. So they did everything that they did in previous movies and and were just going for the greatest hits and re kind of replaying the greatest hits. And I the vibe I kind of got, so I know that there are some people who like lost their minds when this trailer came out. You might have been one of them that that like but I I heard a lot of people in the audience it took the trailer and the cap footage to get them excited for this. It it wasn't the presentation, it wasn't seeing the Russos, it wasn't seeing Robert Downey Jr. It was that cap moment. So for me, that's interesting. Yeah, go ahead. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_03

Because because no, because like you we've we've we've we've seen you guys talking and all that, like like we already got Dune. June Dune dropped their trailer right after freaking uh the Oscars. And I I don't want to make this a thing, but they've already made it a thing. So here we are, like this is the battle of fucking Dune Day. So they they dropped their trailer right after. We still haven't seen except for the whatever the fuck that we we talked about last a couple pods ago about like their release days, those teasers, and like people have been itching to finally see what this movie is and get a real sense of it. So rightfully, I I'm glad that the sentiments was that it was positive and that most people are are hyped to see this. Um the the other thing too is that just from like a movie sense, um it they they keep nerfing fucking Thor.

SPEAKER_00

And it's kind of freaking crazy because how does Doom grab his had grab his hammer or not his hammer, um Stormbreaker and um and just like continue to do that to catch the movies, catches it in his tracks and just leaves him like and and basically flicks him away like nothing. And and that's what I that's what I thought was interesting is the footage that they showed. You got your little cameos from the X-Men, you got your little cameos from some of the other characters. Apparently there's a fight with Shang-Chi and Gambit with Shang-Chi with the rings and gambit with the cards, which visually a lot of people were saying just looked cool, like on screen, seeing them back and forth, which I can imagine like visually that would look cool. Um Mystique fighting Yelena and then turning into Yelena in the in the fight. That was another bit of the the thing. So it seems that we're getting like Avengers X-Men mixed up in this as well. But for me, like, yeah, it was it was hearing the Steve Rogers thing. It was like, oh, okay, so you're finally gonna pay off that thing. I know we got it in Endgame, but you're finally gonna kind of pay it off now with Steve and and time traveling Steve that that's that's been you know through it all.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and and another good thing to mention too is because of the re-release of Infinity War that's kind of the movie. They they are uh adding a new ending. So for that way it can connect to Doomsday.

SPEAKER_00

I find that to be very Yeah, not only just ending a bunch of alternate footage that's gonna be cut into the movie.

SPEAKER_03

So there's basically you're watching a new movie.

SPEAKER_00

Essentially, that's how they're marketing this to people, is is come see this new version of Endgame that's now gonna basically tie you in better into Doomsday because it it's the way they're billing Doomsday is it's it's a continuation of Endgame. And you can read that one of two ways, you can read that as everything that happened during that duration, we fucked up and we don't care about it, it doesn't matter, don't worry about it. And just if you saw Endgame and Infinity War, you can come back for this, or you can look at it as we're gonna incorporate that stuff and those characters, but we're gonna do it in our own way, like bit by bit. Um, I think it's the first one more than anything. I think they realize nobody cares about the multiverse shit. We need to kind of nip this in the butt and bring it all together for this. And I I thought that was interesting that like the way they're gonna do this, it's also kind of a workaround because by putting Doomsday or by putting Endgame back into theaters, even though it's an alternate cut, the box office number is still gonna add to the actual endgame. So essentially what they're gonna do is eventually Endgame will break the avatar record, and they can say Endgame is the is the highest grossing movie of all time and blah blah blah blah blah. It's a bait and a switch to try to lead people into like, oh, come see Doomsday now. I don't like that. I think that's like I I think I think that's such a cop-out and such a Disney thing for them to do. That's like, hey guys, come see this movie that you've already saw, but we're gonna cut some new footage into it. It might only be five minutes of new footage, but guess what? Like, that's how we're gonna get people to come see it.

SPEAKER_03

You gotta think, like, if you're Thanos and you're about to control like this whole country, how can I make sure that my team wins? We have to alternate the system, and this is what they're fucking doing. Well, and and they're like, I need to win at all costs.

SPEAKER_00

How can I do that? This is this is part of that marketing strategy. So, because they do not have any IMAX screens for this showing, Doomsday has no iMac screens. They're not moving the day, they are gonna go head to head with Dune 3, which we will talk about in this podcast, because I cannot fucking wait to talk about Dune 3. But um, they are gonna go head to head with one another. And Doomsday has no IMAX screens. All the IMAX screens are going to Dune 3. So they created Infinity Vision, and I'm putting air quotes around Infinity Vision because you would think this is them unveiling some new technology, some new Dolby system, some new THX system, something. It's not, it's not any kind of software, it's not any kind of anything. Basically, it's them saying we're gonna put this Infinity Vision thing on theaters that we deem worthy of it. Basically, whoever's gonna pay us for this Infinity Vision brand and go see it at that theater, which in my assumption takes we're gonna charge you more money to go to one of these infinity theaters that aren't any aren't enhanced, nothing's different about it than another theater, other than it it might have the newest projector, it might have the a bigger screen. What are you guys doing?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they they they say that it has the brightest color, the best sound, and is perfect for all like their movies.

SPEAKER_00

But see, that sounds to me like, hey, come see it at a screen that's not gonna not gonna show you the green screen. Because remember, I talked about that with Fantastic Four. I could literally point out the green screen on most of the shots in in the in the movie. Yeah, that's true. I think I think this is the workaround. It's like, hey guys, we just fired a thousand workers and most of our special effects team. Uh we're we're using AI now going forward with our with our visual effects. So go to us go to a theater where we can hide it better, and we're gonna put this little brand on it and make you think that you're seeing something special when you're not. I thought that was such a dubious, like, what the fuck are you guys doing?

SPEAKER_03

It's such a hard, like it's just so hard to figure out if there's telling me the truth or not. Because this is so like it's so random, and plus with everybody being such like a movie enthusiast out of nowhere, and like you have to see things in IMAX and the whole thing that's that we're gonna talk about with the Odyssey coming out and stuff now. Like, but the thing is, I do want to be ahead of the game with it, and I love and I love that, but don't get me wrong, but it's just like the way they're going about it does feel like real gimmicky, I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_00

And especially like it would be one thing if they shot Doomsday in an IMAX camera, like we'll talk about with the Odyssey. There if it'd be one thing if this movie had bits that were shot in IMAX, but Dune is specifically shot for IMAX. The Odyssey is specifically shot for IMAX and and fucking Mando is too to like yeah, Mando has aspects ratio, so like they'll have they'll have some IMAX sections in it. But the the fact that like you didn't shoot this movie in any special way whatsoever, but go see it at a infinity branded fucking theater. Like that gimmick is ridiculous. Apparently, from what I heard, everybody in the crowd was fucking confused because they thought, like, oh, does that mean you guys are gonna introduce some new some new theater?

SPEAKER_03

Disney Plus or something like that. I thought I thought it was at the end of the day.

SPEAKER_00

Like some some some new technology that like is actually gonna advance the viewing of the of the movie, not just like, hey, we're just gonna put our stamp on a movie theater and and come see it at this screen because we say so. Like, that's fucking ridiculous.

SPEAKER_03

To be honest, when I first saw this trailer, I deadass thought this was gonna be the trailer for uh Vision uh that's what I thought that's coming up.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, oh, they changed the name. Okay. I was like, Vision Quest, Vision Quest, Vision Quest is Infinity Vision. Cool, that's a better name. And then they started talking about it, and I was like, what the fuck? And like, like I said, I thought they were uh gonna unveil some brand new theater technology that they developed of like, here's our brand new ex you know on-screen experience to come watch the movie in. And then they were just like, no, it's just it's just a title that we're gonna give movie theaters. I was like, you guys fucking like are killing me.

SPEAKER_03

Another reason to go to to stay at the concession stand for another couple minutes.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's another reason for me to go see Doom 3 the same day it comes up.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I mean only that too, but I'm saying you gotta rush to your seat now because you gotta wait for the Infinity Vision intro to play.

SPEAKER_00

I just I thought that was wild. I I I still don't know. Uh my the best way we can judge this is once the trailer actually drops and we see the reaction that people get from from all of us being able to collectively watch the footage. Um I thought it was interesting that they did allow photography and photos, but they were basically anybody who was videotaping or filming something, the security was coming up to people and telling them to del making them delete the videos in front of them. So that's why the trailer didn't leak out like to the public.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, yo, you have all these damn people with phones. You mean to tell me they won't leak out? I was I was on there like a hacker, like trying to figure out where the trailer is.

SPEAKER_00

That's why though, is apparently a couple people that did take videos, they said security came right up to them and asked them to delete the video right in front of them or they would be escorted out. So like they had no option, even though they were allowed to take photos and videos during the presentation. It was it was kind of like a uh a backhanded way of like, oh, we're gonna catch the ones that are gonna leak it. And then if somebody does leak it, we're gonna know who it is because they're in this room. So it's it's kind of narrowed down. Um, another thing that we did get to see is is Spider-Man, uh, another trailer that didn't come out, you know, publicly. I I I'm very interested. So so the way this footage was shown off, it's I didn't hear about the footage. Oh, so you didn't. Okay, so this is new for you. Okay. So the the footage that they showed off, it's basically Peter going to Ned. Ned and MJ are living together in in like an apartment. Um not dating, but they're but like as roommates. As roommates. Um basically Peter goes to like the the housewarming party and is there, and when he's there, he sees in Ned's bedroom that Ned has all of these pictures of Spider-Man up in the bedroom and basically created this app that I guess is gonna be part of the movie, the Spider Tracker app. And it's gonna be in the game. Yeah, like in the game. So uh, but Ned's basically gonna create this app because he wants to thank Spider-Man for saving him in high school. So it's been it's been however long, they still don't know that Peter is Spider-Man. Um they don't even know who Peter is. And basically, when Ned comes out of the bathroom or whatever and sees Peter in his room, he he doesn't know who Peter is, and he's like, Who are you? and Peter kind of scrambles and comes up with like a weird name. So, like, they're gonna when he introduces himself to Ned and MJ for the first time in this movie, it's gonna be like an awkward fucking name that like he just kind of scrambles and comes up with. I forget exactly what it was, but it was it was kind of funny. Um and MJ is dating Amana Svandi, like we said, in the in this, you know, scene, and basically they kind of have an interaction, and you see that MJ is still wearing the the Daya necklace that Peter gave her. Um so that's basically like the the the footage that they showed. Um, and then they showed like this is a real trailer that we we had already just saw. Um so it's interesting. I I'm guessing they're gonna continue to play off the you know the the the events of what happened in the last one, and now you know however many years have gone by, and that's kind of the the problem.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because how are they gonna tell how they gonna how does she know like that's that was from Peter?

SPEAKER_00

She doesn't know it's from Peter, I'm guessing. I'm guessing she probably doesn't remember how she got it. She just knows that she does that's what I mean. You just have it, like and and that's probably the thing in the back of MJ's mind that that might get her wheels turning to remember. Like she's because supposedly the plot line for this movie is is like her and Ned both know that there's something that they can't remember. And like Ned's already looking for Spider-Man, tracking him, trying to find out who he is so he can thank him. Meanwhile, doesn't remember that like it was his best friend, and then MJ, same thing. She's got these these little itches and these little memories of things, but doesn't necessarily know like what it's associated to, and then has the necklace still from Peter. So like it it should be cool. I'm I'm I still don't know how all of this stuff's gonna fit in based off what we've seen from the trailer, like with Gene Gray and Punisher and you know all this other stuff. It it just seems like a lot being packed into this movie, but I I was I was happy to hear about like this footage that that was shown.

SPEAKER_03

I did see the uh Standy or whatever pulse you want to call it of with of him with him like in that like Ted McFarlane stance with freaking boomerang behind him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um and um Boomerang and Tarantula. Yeah, Boomerang and Tarantula, but I didn't know like I kept seeing like Boom Boomerang Boomerang's like the trailer version, but they keep showing it, so I'm guessing he's actually gonna play a actual role in the movie.

SPEAKER_00

So like I think Boomerang and and Tarantula and a couple of the other characters that we saw are like just the opening montage of the movie. I think you're just gonna see, like, oh, he's been fighting all these villains for the past five years, and and kind of like a montage scene like that was in Fantastic Four. Yeah, pretty much the same exact thing. I think we're gonna get that same exact play out. Um, it seems that the only characters that are gonna be like the main players is Scorpion, seems like he's gonna be a main player based off like the Lego stuff that's come out. Like Scorpions all over the Lego stuff, and then Tombstone is the other one that's like on a lot of the Lego stuff. Like he's got a minifig, everything.

SPEAKER_03

I haven't even seen the Ask Creator that they're showing that now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that all that stuff's already popping up because the the movie's, you know, a month, months, two months away. So Lego is always the first one to show off their stuff. But yeah, it's gonna be interesting. I'm I'm more way more excited for Spider-Man than I am for Doomsday, if if that makes any sense. Like I'm I'm way more like, all right, let's go see this rather and maybe hold off on Doomsday.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, also I like I like I think I am too because it's more street level stuff. And what with with with Avengers, it's always you're always L L on Elseworld or freaking it's nowhere else but the streets. So like to get that street level grounded story with the characters that we know and love is is always a great time.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm I'm interested to see how they're gonna tie this into Daredevil. I mean, we talked about it last week with the Mike Coulter pictures of Matt being in a spoilers, if you don't want to know, you can fast forward. Um, but Mike Holter leaked photos of Matt being in a prison suit. So like we kind of know that the end of Daredevil this season, Matt's probably gonna end up in jail. And from what we know about the Spider-Man trailer that we saw, there's a prison scene with the hand. So more than likely they they kind of connect. I I can't believe that, but we'll talk about Daredevil towards the end. Uh, usually we do our our recaps first, but because there's so much cinema con stuff, we've we wanted to get through that first. Um, the other thing I know you're really excited about this is into the spider-verse. They showed off footage for that as well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, man.

SPEAKER_00

Uh apparently.

SPEAKER_03

I hear a lot of people are positive about it. Um, although I heard that the trailer is like is a half done trailer.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Because it goes it goes from it dumb showing uh you know where he left off. Off with uh Miles Morales, um Prowler Miles Morales, and then the basically saying like your dad's gonna die and stuff like that. And it just it goes from looking so nice to looking like uh the like the rough drafts that leak a little bit ago, a while ago, with like with Prowler was like swinging throughout the city and stuff.

SPEAKER_00

And apparently I don't understand the apparently like you're gonna see a lot of Miles being Prowler and vice versa in this. Like that's kind of how it seems like they're gonna do. And you see Peter uh Peter B. Parker basically take off the robe and give his daughter to to somebody else and puts on the mask and like takes off and goes to help Miles, um a couple of the other characters. It looks like uh Spider-Man 2029 is like in a different suit in this one now, like a white and black suit rather, and like he's more villainous, I guess, in this in this this one. Um I I'm not uh I love Miles Morales, I'm not crazy about these Spider-Verse movies, and the fact that they've they've they've been so far in between one another that like I don't even remember what happened in the last one to to watch this next one. That's that's for me where like my interest, it's not on the top of my list at all. Like it's I'll watch it when it hits streaming, but I'm not like rushing out to go see this last one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, I feel you on that. Um basic it's basically gonna just take off from where it left off. So it's just gonna go straight into action. But because you said that, you just reminded me because I also just finished watching Avatar Ash and Fire, and I felt I feel the same way where it takes you right back into where they left off, but uh those movies are so far in between and long as shit that you f I forgot like what about certain parts in that movie. So it's not it might be possible that that happens to you, but because I feel like Miles Morale, in my in my opinion, I feel like Miles and the Spider-Verse movies are a little bit more popular and think other than not as long that it should be a little bit more easier to catch up and get up to date.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm sure it will be. It's just I don't I don't know. Even the other two, like I wasn't like rush out to go to the theater to go see it. It wasn't it wasn't a priority for me. It was just like I'll catch it whenever it hits streaming, and then when it hits streaming, I watched it. Um it'll probably be the same thing for me with this one, honestly. It's just not if they do live action miles, I'm here for it, I'll be there in the theater. But the animated one, it it that's what I was kind of hoping that the climax of this would be. Would be like we'd get to the end of this whole Spider-Verse, him traversing through the the different things, and the end of the movie would be him going from animation to live action, like, and that would be he meets Tom Holland somehow or something like that. Like, I would love that. Because you did the thing with Donald Glover where it was reversed. You brought Donald Glover from the first Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse animated series playing the same character as Uncle Aaron. So I would almost like it reversed of like however this movie ends, Miles ends up in the actual MCU, like in real life. Like I feel like you could do it.

SPEAKER_03

Like who like like some Space Jam or Who Friend Rabbit Rabbit? Robit type. Yeah, essentially.

SPEAKER_00

Like because it'd be it'd be him traversing the different multiverses and he stumbled into the multiverse of of the MCU where it was real. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

Like Well, that was yeah, and they already kind of did that with, like we said, with with um Uncle Aaron.

SPEAKER_00

So like it would make sense easily for them to do it. I just don't know if they're going to do it. The thing that we did get though, something that we've been talking about for weeks and weeks and weeks on and we got a brand new Mandalorian and Grogu trailer. Did this trailer do anything different for you? Because I I do feel this was a much better trailer. Like, this is the trailer we should have got the Super Bowl. We should have gotten from the beginning.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god, to the words out of my mouth. Thank you very much. Yeah, we definitely should. We I I I definitely feel a lot more hype because of this movie. Um, I have I rewatched it before we started recording just to like really sink into my feelings on that, and it's a definitely um I I wish I would have so like because of this, also they ended up releasing uh tickets too that they're out now. I have not copied my ticket yet. But now that I've re-watched this now, I'm I think I'm ready to cop a ticket. Not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not gonna lie, I did I did grab my ticket already for a Thursday night showing. Um I'm a Star Wars guy though, so I was going regardless, just because it's a Star Wars movie in the movie theater.

SPEAKER_03

I was going too, but I just didn't know if I was like excited for it.

SPEAKER_00

I'm still not excited for the movie. Yeah. I'm still not like this trailer was much better. I thought this trailer was so much better. This is the trailer they should have shown from the beginning, but I can see also why they held off on this trailer. Because from the first 20 minutes, so if you were in attendance at CinemaCon, they showed everybody the first 20 minutes of this movie. They also did a behind the scenes thing where John Favre had a bunch of influencers out to California on the lot. They showed them the first 20 minutes of the movie as well. Um, they they got a full tour through the prop house and saw all kinds of stuff that was made and used for the movie. Um I'm still not like fully excited about this because it does sound like it's four episodes of Mando that they edit it all together into a two-hour movie. Because it's a two-hour runtime. That's what John Favreau stated in his interviews that it is a two-hour runtime. The first 20 minutes of the movie is the scene that we have seen over and over again in all of the trailers. It's Mando on a snowy planet infiltrating the AT ATs. Uh there's an in there's an Imperial officer on those ATs that he's trying to get information from that's part of the Shadow Council, and that is the opening 20 minutes of the movie. Grogues Din makes his way through the the ATs, and and at the end, Grogu sets off explosives and they they shoot out and take off before everything like blows up, and that that's how the 20 minutes end. So it essentially feels like alright, the first 20 minutes are gonna be dealing with the Imperials. That's the first episode. You know, we're gonna get the fallout of that, then we're gonna get the hut story of him going to Nalhutta for wherever he needs to do with Rada the Hut, and then ends up in the gladiator pit, ends up getting captured, and Grogu's gonna have to be the one to save it. And that's the layout for the movie, essentially. Um so I I don't know if there's enough meat on the bone there to like entice people to go see this from everything I saw. So I again I showed this to my best friend who has seen all the seasons of Mandalorian. I said, Does this trailer do anything more for you? And he basically said, No, it looks like like the same thing I watched on Disney Plus, so why would I go pay to see it in a movie theater? And I feel like that's a lot of people's sentiments. But you know what I mean. Like, that's that's basically what he's saying, is like I already pay for Disney Plus. Why why would I this doesn't look anything different to me? And I disagree, this does so from everything John Favreau said during his interviews, some of this is shot on the volume, a lot of this is practical effects because they had the time and they had the budget to actually build sets. Um Phil Tippett is back for this. Who is if you don't know who Phil Tippett is, he is probably the world's most famous miniature um and practical builder for creatures. He worked on the original Star Wars trilogies with George. He worked on Jurassic Park with all of the the dinosaurs and all of the stuff there. So he is involved in this movie. He made um some miniatures, they did some stop motion, they did some practical stuff with him and puppetry. So there they are trying to use a lot of the stuff from the original Star Wars, the the the bread and the butter that that put everything kind of together. And um I thought that was interesting. Doug Chang is is back. Um Doug Chang got promoted from Lucasfilm, but he was one of the original designers on the original trilogy. Now he's got a uh um uh corporate position, I believe, with Lucasfilm, but he's still hands-on because he created a lot of these ships and a lot of these designs for a lot of these things. Uh Mando does have a new uh um Razorcrest. It's a brand new Razorcrest. It's it's basically a gift to him from Sigourney Weaver's character in the Republic. They basically give it to him at the beginning of the movie. So we'll see that. Zeb is a big part of the movie, like as his co-pilot, pretty much. Um, so it's it's interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Uh the most interesting part that I thought too was um my boy got two swords now. Yeah. And uh Vibro swords. That yeah, that is freaking fucking awesome. So he got new, he looked like he's building on his um and my figure only came with one.

SPEAKER_00

So Hasbro, you and me got beef because my action figure only came with one sword. If he's got two in the movie, I want two with the fucking figure. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Look my boy up, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Hasbro, we're coming for you. But um, no, I thought that was cool. I do like the new weapons. Apparently, there's um so from people that went on the tour at the Lucasfilm uh studios. Well, Favreau's, I guess it's it's technically owned by John Favreau. So it's wherever this warehouse is that has all these props and these these you know things that they've made for the movie and for the TV show. They're all stored in a warehouse that John Favreau owns. And the actual bar from a Delphi squad is set up in the middle. So the people who got to go here got to actually like drink at the bar at a Delphi base, and they served served them drinks and food and everything else. Yo, Star Wars.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, Disney, Disney, you need to put this in freaking Galaxy Edge. Like, there's no there's no doubt about it. Wherever you want to put it, in any part, put it there, I'll be there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's that's a fact.

SPEAKER_00

So there's there's a big thing that's been taken over the internet, and it's a prop of a small baby Rada that they have. Um, so it's uh it's a version of Rada as a child and and his baby form. So a lot of people were speculating of well, if they're they made a prop for that, is there a chance we could get some kind of flashback to when Rada? Because for those of you guys that don't don't know, Rada is in the Clone Wars movie. So before the Clone Wars animation show launched, there's the Clone Wars television or the Clone Wars movie that came out, which is essentially two Clone Wars episodes together that they that they put out in theaters, and Rada is the storyline. So it'd be cool if we got an Ahsoka cameo or an Anakin cameo, you know, for for this. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You just took yeah, yeah, because I was just thinking they did that for Ahsoka, so it would be only it wouldn't make it wouldn't be different or shocking if they do do it here. And giving that there's a prop now of a baby rata, I I I would not be surprised, but I would also be surprised to see it. It's like an oxymoron, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And it was it was so crazy because um I believe Sky Talkers, um, they were the ones who posted like the photo of it initially, and then all these other places started picking up the photo. Uh, so much so that my buddy Rob, uh, shout out to Rob, he's a listener of this podcast, Toxic Collector. He already made a one-one scale version of this Rada. He's gonna be unveiling it. I feel like I can talk about it on the podcast because he'll unveil it by the time this podcast actually drops. But it looks so cool, so I'm excited for people to see that. Um yeah, so it it I'm I'm more enticed by this movie. I will say that I have my ticket. I'm going to see it Thursday opening night when it comes to the show.

SPEAKER_02

Where are you watching it?

SPEAKER_00

Uh, just the Marquise. No, just the regular cinema that's that's clear my near my house. Um I'd I'm never like an IMAX person. Like I if if those are the tickets that are available at that theater, I'll go for the IMAX, but I'm never like, oh, I have to see it this way or I have to see it that. I'm not that much of a movie snob. Okay. But yeah, I I'm I'm looking forward to seeing the movie and and I just hope that I enjoy it. I I hope that it's it's a good movie. Um I just I still don't think it's it's penetrating the main audience of of mainstream people who are like you know, like a normal Star Wars movie would, where like you have to line up, you have to go see it because it's Star Wars. I don't think this has that same carryover appeal.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I feel like because well, now that they've released the tickets now, it should give them enough time to one, meet the the the numbers that they're trying to reach. But also though, in the event when the movie does come out, I do feel like once this people go to the movie theaters that weekend and realize there's a Star Wars movie out, it's gonna go crazy. So once people get in there, they're like, oh, there's a Star Wars movie there. I'm sure a lot of people are gonna want to come out and see it. It's been over seven years since a Star Wars movie was even in the freaking theaters, so it sh it should do numbers and it should get peep the people talking.

SPEAKER_00

See, my whole thing is I I think Lucasfilm is a whole like Maul's having all the success. We're gonna talk about Maul later in the show. Um, but I feel like movie-wise, I feel like this whole entire time they've been looking past Mandalorian and they've been looking towards Starfighter. And I feel like with Star Wars Celebration being next year, with that being the movie that's gonna come out, I feel like they're gonna go all in on Starfighter, and Mando kind of feels like the the red-headed stepchild, unfortunately. And it could surprise everybody, it could do phenomenally well, and then it leads them making more Mando movies, which I'm here for, but I still have not seen the response from people I know when I when I talk about, hey, did you know there's a Star Wars movie coming out, or are you interested in seeing this Star Wars movie that's coming out? And the response that I'm getting from like just regular people is uh what? I don't care. You know, stuff like that. And it's just it's it's baffling because that's not what I'm used to for Star Wars. Use usually for Star Wars, people who know me and know my fandom of Star Wars usually come to me and ask me about hey, what's this next movie about? What do I have to know? What do I have to watch going into it? And I'm not I'm not getting any of that from anybody.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. And that's just off of what they have done in the past and their their downfalls for that. Um I I just definitely I just feel like once this movie comes out, we should have a better outcome and the the motion will really be there. Uh I think it's good. I think it's gonna it's not gonna have anything to do with just like what the perception of it is right now. I just feel like the people are gonna are gonna people the fans are gonna fan out for it and that that word of mouth is just gonna travel. That's only if it's good though. That's only if it's good. If it's not a good movie. That should be a good sign that hopefully the rest of this movie, at least the next album of this movie, should be telling.

SPEAKER_00

That's also that's also not like these are people who Lucasfilm flew to Lucasfilm to show them the 20 minutes. These aren't just like regular people, everyday people. These are these are diehard Star Wars fans that are going to see something Star Wars for free. So like it's kind of tough to judge. You know what I mean? It's it's it's a little heavy-handed on on where their thoughts and and how much they're gonna talk about something.

SPEAKER_03

Um something I also feel like because this movie is coming out on Memorial Day, so it's already a free weekend for most people that they don't got shit to do, they can you know head out to the theaters. So that should help too. But we'll see.

SPEAKER_00

I haven't seen anything, and and the fact that when the trailer dropped, they got stepped all over. It trended on Twitter for about an hour, and an hour later it was gone. Like it came and went very fast.

SPEAKER_03

Because they did that and then they went straight into Doomsday when knowing everybody wants to see Doomsday.

SPEAKER_00

Like, we just wanted to see that was the topic everyone was talking about. So, again, like it got shoved down the list on the things of the that are priority, and and that's unfortunate, especially because listening to the interviews that people put out with John Favreau, you could tell how much passion he has for this. You could tell how much love he has for Star Wars, the fact that he bought a warehouse in California and has all of these practical effects and all these set pieces in this warehouse on display all the time, that tells you like how much he loves Star Wars and how much effort he put into making this movie. So I from what he said, he wanted to try to make it as you know, you can come in not seeing the Mandalorian show and just kind of come into the story. Um, I don't know what bits are gonna be there from the from the original show. We did see the Babu Fricks are gonna be part of, you know, the thing. We saw their little spaceship that they and Carson Tavo were working together pretty much with with the blue squadron. So Zeb's boyfriend Callis is is back on Zeb's planet, and Zeb seems to have stuck around and and you know been part of the rebellion still and still still running missions and still doing all this type of stuff. And and as far as we know, so we we have not seen him reunite with Ezra yet. So he he doesn't even know that Ezra's back yet, as far as we know, up until this point. Like, and that's where I guess we could wonder where this falls. Does this Mando movie take place before or after Ahsoka? You know what I mean? Like that that I guess would be important information, but we'll see. I I am I I I'm gonna I I'm I'm more excited for it, but I'm not like, oh my god, I can't wait to go see it. Like I I think I'm more I can't wait to go see it and then figure out if it's good or not, and then go from there. You know what I mean? Like if I go see it and I really love it, I'll be hyped, I'll go back and see it again. I'll I'll talk, you know, I'll tell everybody from the mountaintops how much I fucking love the movie. But if I if I go in there and I'm just like, eh, okay, it's okay. Like I fear with Daredevil and stuff like that, like I I I I feel like I would have a different out, you know, a different take on that. Yeah. Something else that was showing off that that we were really excited about was the Street Fighter trailer. And this actually looked way better than I thought it was. And it was funny because we got the Mortal Kombat 2 trailer that also dropped during CinemaCon. So it was basically a um, you know, both these movies are coming out around the same time. They're they're both based on very successful fighting games that everybody loves, but you can see the different approach by both movies. Like, Mortal Kombat took it very seriously, kind of continues off the first one. Street Fighter leaned into the campiness of the original one, and I and I like that. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

Like But they play they play their roles just the way they should. Like, when I look at both of those, it it doesn't seem like they did anything crazy. Like, that's how Street Fighter is, and this is how Mortal Kombat is. And and I and they they depicted it on screen perfectly.

SPEAKER_00

And I thought it was cool because we get the we now we get the story aspect of what the Street Fighter movie is gonna be. Essentially, one of these tournaments has already taken place before, and Ryu won the first one. Since then, Ryu kind of went and and lives in isolation. He grew his hair out, he grew his beard out. Him and Ken kind of had a falling out, and Ken is is like a megastar. He's on TV, he's all of these places all over, but he's depressed and he's sad. Almost like the last Ronan Michelangelo story of you know, uh Mikey was a movie star, but he was still heartbroken because he lost all of his friends. Um and it seems Chung Li is the one like recruiting all the fighters for the tournament, but she knows both Ryu and knows Ken and kind of puts them back together. So the three of them are essentially the main part of the movie, and all the other cast members are just kind of part of the tournament from what it seems. So the the main essence of the story is Ryu, Chung Li, and Ken, which I I'm here for because that's it's kind of like the same story.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's kind of they're playing off of what's what happens in the current um Street Fighter. It is set in like 1990, 1993, I think it's I peeked the um the Yo MTV or just the MTV logo in the in the one TV trailer there, too. So yeah, because that's that tells me it is 90s.

SPEAKER_00

Ken's like, yeah, on on MTV and shit like that. Like he's a washed up like celebrity at this point, like just doing all that shit. So I'm here for it. It looks great. I love the the nod, like Cammy's talking to Chung Lee, and she's like, I hear, I hear everybody loves your thighs. They're nothing special. Like, you know, little stuff like that. That's like stuff from the game. That's that's you know.

SPEAKER_03

Yo, the one character though that I am most excited about because he looks so accurate is uh Sagreef. I think that's how you say his name. But the big Russian Yeah, the big Russian dude. Yeah, yeah. Yo, he looks like straight out of the game. They couldn't pick a better actor.

SPEAKER_00

And I remember him from uh Dutch. Yeah, I remember him. Is Dutch, yeah. The Dutch giant or something like that is his is his handle. Uh-huh. But I remember him from what's the show I'm thinking of?

SPEAKER_03

Uh um Archer? Is it Archer?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Archer's the animated one. No, no, no. It's on Prime. Um He was he recently the the main dude he recently got into like an altercation with this guy because he was on a motorcycle or whatever. Oh Reacher? Reacher! That's what it is. Yeah, yeah. He's in Reacher. Yeah. He plays kind of like the same character, like a big security or whatever. Yeah, they look like he looks exactly like the game.

SPEAKER_00

They got the shot in the trailer of him doing the fucking suplex too, which look look fucking sucks. Yeah, and then I love I love Cody Rhodes. He's like he's he's sitting on the thing all like burnt up and shit. He's like Ryu. I think Ryu fucking shot a fireball at me. Fireball.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I'm still does he know he could do the same shit.

SPEAKER_00

I'm still not sure how the dude that's playing Bison is gonna be in this. Um David Dusmalchin or whatever his name is. Um I don't I still don't know. Like I yeah, I I I even seeing him in the costume and everything like that, I'm interested to see his approach to Bison, like if it's gonna be different than than you know how he's portrayed in the game and how he was portrayed in the original one. But um everybody else looks phenomenal. Even uh Roman Reigns, Tribal Chief, as Akuma, like looked sick in that shot. Like I was like, man, guru looks good nice too. Jason Momo pops up at the very end of the trailer, you see him fairy out from the ground and and pop up as Blanca. So I'm guessing Blanca's gonna they're gonna do the same thing like they did in the original, where like Blanca is being like held prisoner by bison, I'm guessing, like throughout the whole movie. And you know, we'll see him towards the end. But I was very excited for this. I'm excited for Mortal Kombat 2 as well. Like Mortal Kombat 2 just looks great. Um I I'm I'm here for Adeline Rudo and and um Carl Urban playing Johnny Cage. Like the new the new players that they brought on for the cast seem like they're gonna really carry this movie, you know, going forward, which I'm here for. And and I love the guy who plays Scorpion, Sub Zero's back again, um, as noob sub noob Sibot or whatever, his other incarnation. So it should be cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the that's the thing I love about both of these movies is that we're getting all the characters that we would get in the game, and it's just like it's all gas, no breaks. It's just everybody is in it, and it's it's gonna be a good time. I can't wait to see both. Like as a as a sh as a fighter, like main player, see these things is just like a dream to come true. So I will be there day one. I already got my Mortal Kombat tickets.

SPEAKER_00

And and speaking of all gas, no breaks, Dune three. Um so Dune Dune Dune three showed the first the first 15 minutes or 10 minutes of the movie, and this was described as the same opening as Save and Private Ryan. So if you've ever seen Save and Private Ryan, it opens with them storming the beaches of Normandy in World War II, and it's an all-out, like storming the beaches, going all out, you're watching this battle go on, and we're gonna essentially see the same thing for this Dune 3 opening. It's basically Paul, uh Paul's army uh going of the Fremen who have only grown up in the desert now. They're they're on a ship and they're basically going to land on this planet to raid this planet. Still guard from the previous Dune movies is the one leading this army on the ships. And the really cool part is so the Fremen, since they're they're brought up on a desert planet, it doesn't rain there, water is very sacred to them. Um it's it's something precious. When they get to this planet, it's raining on the planet. So as this fight is going on and this battle is ensuing, you have a religious experience happening for some of these people as well, because this is the first time they've ever seen rain. This is the first time they've ever experienced it. So, like, as you have people running off the ships and fighting, you have other guys that are like staring at the sky and praying, and some people that are dropping to their knees, and some people that are confused that don't know like what is going on. Meanwhile, this all-out battle is taking place at the same time. So that was the oh that was what they showed. Like, I'm fucking here for it. Apparently, apparently, it's a 15-year time jump that they're doing. I don't know if that's gonna take place throughout the movie or if it's gonna literally start 15 years later from the last one. But it sounds incredible. The whole thing shot IMAX, everything from what everybody said about this footage, that this was the best trailer, this was the best footage that anybody showed, this was the best presentation of the whole entire cinema con. Um so I thought that was tremendous. That like Warner Brothers out of anybody got the rave reviews again for for you know their presentation.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and just you know, them coming coming out and from the jump, I was oh I was just very hesitant because I was like, what do you actually have to show with all this negotiations and things that are going on? And um, I guess they showed out.

SPEAKER_00

So and and that was the interesting thing that I thought was very interesting. So Warner Brothers announced projects from now all the way till 2027. Warner Brothers announced a new division of their studio that's gonna be made for amateur filmmakers to spotlight indie films now going forward. So uh DeLuca and Abby have all of these plans that they laid out for the next three years, and there was zero mention of Paramount and the acquisition, which I found very, very interesting. Almost like Warner Brothers knows that somehow, somehow, like we've been saying, this deal might not go through, and Warner Brothers is just gonna keep trucking along with their plans because so far for the last year, they banked all the Oscars, they banked all of the major awards at the Actors Awards, they banked all of the top-grossing movies of the past year. Warner Brothers is the top studio right now. This presentation proves it that everybody left this this weekend this week of Cinemacon saying Warner Brothers killed it, absolutely killed it. And then you have David Ellison and fucking Paramount who only had three things to show. Meanwhile, that motherfucker skipped the congressional hearing that he was supposed to go to the day before because he said he had a death in the family, and then showed up at Cinemacon the next day, so he can go out there and parade himself out in front of all these people and talk about all these plans and all these things that he's got going on for Paramount. And the sentiment from a lot of people seemed to be like, fuck this guy. So I'm so interested to see how this merger's gonna go. I'm so interested to see how things are gonna go be in Congress with this, because this is still before Congress. They just turned down a merger that uh another merger that was a big acquisition. So I hope to God that this merger gets squashed and Warner Brothers can just keep doing their thing because as more stuff we're gonna talk about here from Warner Brothers, I'm so excited about like what they have coming. And if they're gonna keep trucking along like with their plans and and not have somebody else interfering with it, I'm I'm here for it. And and I am here for Dune 3. Like, based off this trailer footage that people were talking about, I am fucking sold on this movie. Like, I'll be there over Doomsday for Dune 3. I'll be one of those, I'll be the guy. Yeah, no, yeah, no.

SPEAKER_03

Let that let's get into that because I from what I remember, I know they have Dune, and then I know they showed off some stuff for Supergirl, but well, what else is did they did they announce? They're not they don't have Godzilla, right? Oh wait, they do they do actually, I think. Oh well that was a part of the Paramount thing.

SPEAKER_00

So they have Godzilla, but they have Godzilla vs. Kong. They have the next season. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_02

The Godzong vs. Kong thing.

SPEAKER_00

Which which they did show a little teaser for, but it wasn't much. The the main trailer for Godzilla that we got was the minus zero trailer, which again looked phenomenal. That's the Japanese creator and and and the same one that that did uh minus one. So that looks incredible. Um for Warner Brothers, we got the Clayface teaser, which apparently for Clayface that sounds phenomenal. Uh apparently the the sh the footage they showed was like a very body horror thing. Like it's a guy in a hospital and his face is all bandaged up. You can obviously see that like it's all fucked up, and then they cut in shots of him looking handsome and him acting and him doing all these things, and then his face starting to like fall apart and droop, and him putting it back together and pushing it back in place, and then there's a shot of him uh shadowy. Basically, some guy like bumps into him or does something to him, and in the process you see him change shape and a sickle being made out of his hand, and you see the guy get killed like in the shadow. And from what everybody said, this clayface trailer looks absolutely fucking insane. Um, very sense to it for real. Yeah, it's very horror from from what and it's written by Mike Flanagan, so it should be very horror. Um so I'm here for that. They showed off Supergirl, they showed off some some footage for that. Millie Alcock was there on stage talking about Supergirl. Um, there's a bunch of other stuff from Warner Brothers. Yeah, I'm I'm still I still feel the same about Supergirl, like like we talked about last week after seeing the trailer. Um I I'm here for it, I'll watch it. Um it's not like on the top of my list. The the next thing that is at the top of my list and is my most anticipated movie for this year is The Odyssey. Uh Christopher Nolan came on stage during this presentation, and he actually went directly to IMAX, told them exactly what he needed from them and how he wanted to shoot this movie, and they designed a whole brand new camera for him and camera system that this movie's shot in. So it's it's completely shot in IMAX, but it's completely shot on this brand new camera that Christopher Nolan pretty much helped design with IMAX. Um the scene they showed was was a lot of what we saw in the prologue that was uh being shown in movie theaters. So the Trojan horse thing with Matt Damon and basically them bringing the Trojan horse into Troy and Matt Damon and the other characters like coming out of the Trojan horse and raiding Troy, and you see a shot of a Cyclops, you see John Bernthal talking to Tom Holland. Tom Holland is playing Matt Damon's son, which is a very important character in this whole story. Um apparently it's a three-hour movie when it's all said and done, which I'm I'm here for it, but I'm hoping that means that they split this into two. So they do the Odyssey and then they do the Iliad after the fact, hopefully. That's that that would be the ideal situation. But this looks phenomenal. The the footage shown and the the siege of Troy just looks incredible because you're actually watching it from the people that are inside the Trojan horse. So you're seeing them hold their breath and like just wait. And are we in the gates? Are we in the gates? We're in the gates, go! And like so you're getting that that ramp up and that anticipation along with them and the fear of like, are we gonna be caught before we get smuggled in? Are they gonna fall for this? Are they gonna burn the fucking horse? You know, like all of those thoughts going through these people's minds. So I I think that that movie for me is is my most anticipated movie of the year, and I cannot wait to see it, especially with Christopher Nolan and this cast.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I I have a feeling it's it's gonna be this cast is cool, stacked, you know. That's the most important important, well, the most hype thing for me, I would say. And um, you know, having Tom Allen, I think Matt Damon are the main characters of this movie for the most part. Um that's that's a movie for me. I'm in there all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Charlie Styron, yeah. There's a lot, there's a lot of people. Zendaya's in this, uh, John Bernthal. Um Charlie Styron is playing uh Calypso, from what I've heard. Uh yeah, pretty much every actor in Hollywood is is in this fucking movie. So it should be awesome. Uh we had talked about Zach Krager's Resident Evil. They showed off footage from that, and apparently a lot of people had said that it it feels like a video game. It feels like um it feels very horror though, from what they said. And uh Zach Krager said he flew to wherever the the Resident Evil like studios is and stayed with them for like a week. And literally he's like, I did nothing but play the game and pick people's brains that play that like develop the game. And so from what the footage that was shown, basically this Resident Evil movie, it's gonna deal with one viewpoint character in this city that's the full apocalypse. So you're basically it's it's not one of the video game characters, like they're not using Leon or Claire, they're using a totally like original character, but giving you that same feel of like you're this one character's POV in this world of all this shit going on. So that seems fun. He's also doing a new sci-fi movie called Flood for Warner Brothers. Um, not much was shown or discussed about it, but it is gonna be a sci-fi movie from from Zach Krager for WB. Um Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock came back on came on stage together to announce Practical Magic 2. The trailer for that actually dropped today as we're recording. Um Practical Magic was a uh it's it's a it's a good like cult classic movie of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman early in their careers about witchcraft and witches in this small like Rhode Island town. Um so they're bringing them back to do another one all these years later. So that should be kind of fun. Um I'm I'm here for that. I I'm a fan of the original one, so to I saw the trailer today for the new one, and it it looks like it's gonna be decent. We did get confirmation that Aegon's Conquest, the Game of Thrones movie, is a go at Warner Brothers. It's gonna have a 2028 release date, and they are moving forward with that, which which was huge fucking news.

SPEAKER_02

Uh that's huge news, man.

SPEAKER_00

You and me have been talking about that one for a while. I love the story of Aegon's conquest, so I'm here for the first one.

SPEAKER_03

I thought that was actually not coming out. Like I thought that was just like a scrapped idea. So when I heard about this, I was like, oh shit, this is something that's been rumored for a long time already, and they're we're going through on it. So that was that was big news for me. I was I was I'm excited to see this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I was really excited to to see that as well and see that they actually have a release date in mind for that. Uh, we're getting an Oceans 11 prequel, uh, Margot Robbie. So originally there was always all this talk of Margot Robbie was gonna be doing an oceans movie, and it wasn't clear like what the plan was for that, especially because there was another Oceans movie that was pitched, and now we have confirmation that they basically combined the two movie ideas together, and they're gonna do an Oceans prequel that's centered around George Clooney's parents. So Danny Ocean, it's gonna be his parents doing a heist, and Margot Robbie is gonna be playing his mom. Um, so that should be cool depending on who the rest of that cast is, but it's gonna be like a 1940s or 1950s heist movie, um, pretty much. So that could be cool as something different. Uh Final Destination 7, they they announced um a new Evil Dead movie that apparently the footage for for the new Evil Dead movie looked insane. Uh Baywatch is coming back, and it wasn't specified if it's gonna be a movie or a TV show or or what, but they did announce Baywatch and that Yasmin whatever from the original show is gonna be coming back to be part of like this new cast. Um Robert Eggers showed off his werewolf movie with Aaron Taylor Johnson, and this sounds like it's gonna be epic. Um it's a universal movie. Uh it's it's spelt a little differently. It's it's a werewolf. It's spelt like the actual like old English pronunciation of it. But um Aaron Taylor Johnson is the main character of it, and Robert Edgers is who did Nasferatu. Um so expect that same feel and vibe for this from what I heard about the footage being shown. Um we got Bachel.

SPEAKER_03

And then the Universal Monsters thing just seems like they can try to make that a thing.

SPEAKER_00

I hope that they can actually do it right. Because originally when they had planned on doing it, they did Hugh Jackman's Van Helsing, and that was supposed to be like the initial thing to be part of it. Uh Tom Cruise's Mummy movie, which flopped, and then they did the Anthony Hopkins Benicial del Toro werewolf movie, which was awful too. So I hope this time around that like you have somebody like Robert Eggers that's that's kind of setting this up. I I hope that they can get this monster universe together because they they have the new theme park with it, and it it's not.

SPEAKER_03

I know, that's and that's like their whole situation of why they're probably doing this to drive people to come out to the parks. But and then they also have they don't know if they show footage of this, but I mean, even for the kids, they have the universal, they have the minion monster movie that's coming out too.

SPEAKER_00

So trying to get it together one way or another. Minions and monsters, um, that that is gonna be the new minions movie, and it's set as like a prequel. It's before even Grow, it's before all of that. It's it's basically them early on, um, which I thought was you know it's gonna do well. The Despicable Meme movies always and minions movies always do create. Um we got a new Fokkers movie, Fokker in Law. Um the trailer I didn't hear this. What? Yeah, the trailer for this actually did come out, and I'm I'm here for it. Um I saw a lot of people like talking shit about this. It's I don't know what you expect out of the Fokker movies at this point, but the whole premise of this is uh Skylar Jacinto, uh Jimmy Olsen from Superman, and you know, all these other roles, he's he's very popular nowadays. He's gonna be playing Ben Stiller's son all grown up, and Ariana Grande is playing his his new fiance. So basically, it's her coming to to meet Robert De Niro's character, and Robert De Niro puts her through all of the same stuff that Greg of you know, Ben Stiller's character went through in the first one, except he likes Ariana Grande. And uh Ben Stiller's character doesn't. He thinks there's something up with her that she's trying to like take his son away from him, and so it's them going at it again, but with Ariana's.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was gonna say it's a good repeat.

SPEAKER_00

So I thought it was fun. I'm I'm here for it. It'll be it's not something that I'll probably rush out to go see in the movies, but it's something that I will definitely enjoy when it's on streaming because I love the Falker movies. Yeah, I I'm here for that. Uh, we got some more insight on the Highlander. Uh apparently the the movie is be is filming currently. Uh Henry Cavill came on and had like a little speech. He showed off just a quick little scissor reel from the movie. Dave Batista is gonna be playing Kurgan, which is the villain for the movie, originally played by Clancy Brown in the original series. The difference though, this time is uh Dave Batista is gonna be playing a Nazi uh from World War II and like a German Nazi at that time. And so apparently the Highlander lore is very much intact here. Um and they they kind of expanded on the original idea from the original movies, and the footage sounds incredible from what they did show off, and the fact that they're still shooting the movie and were able to show like a little scissor reel is good news for that. That's cool. Um Spaceballs 2 got an official got an official title. Uh this was hilarious. Mel Brooks. Mel Brooks, I fucking love Mel Brooks. That man is in his 90s. So he comes out on a he comes out on the video and he goes, he goes, so when we were making the original Spaceballs, we always thought we were gonna tell it the hunt for money. And he says, Well, I found the money. It was in my basement. So we're gonna call this Space Balls the New One. So that is the title for the new Space Balls. Uh, it's called The New One, and um that was my Mel Brooks impression. Space the new one. That was good, though. I'm not gonna lie. I just thought it was funny. And apparently the big highlight is that after 30 years, the great Rick Moranis is coming back to acting and is re reprising his role as Darth Helmet in this movie. So um that was the highlight for most people was seeing Rick Moranis and seeing him, you know, come up there. Yeah. Uh um, pretty much everyone from the cast is coming back, except for the late great John Candy, and this is the only drawback for me. They have motherfucking Josh Gadd playing his son in this movie. Um so I thought Josh Gadd was trapped in doorman. What happened? They let him out?

SPEAKER_03

Yo, I was gonna say he took it out my fucking. I was gonna say, look, he took it. This is like he you just can't get enough. Like Josh Gadd is what he is in the MCU in real life, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Like fucking Josh Gadd, man. So that was the only drawback for me. Uh Lewis Perlman and his dad are both in it. And that was that was funny for me too, because they asked they asked uh the guy who's playing Century, you know, and his dad. Um good. They asked they asked him, so you know, space balls being a legacy of your father's, you know, how How how were you, you know, made for this role? And he was like, Well, I was born. Essentially, I'm playing, I'm playing my my real dad's son in the movie I was born. That's it. That's all it took. So I thought that was pretty funny. Um, but the Mel Brooks stuff just cracked me up. I love Mel Brooks. I'm so glad that you know they're gonna get to do this. The original Space Balls, it's not like a cult classic for me. It's it's it's up there as like, you know, just a funny spoof of Star Wars. And so I'm I'm especially with all the things that have gone on since then, I'm interested to see like what they're gonna poke fun at and what you know from the sequel trilogy and stuff like that. Like I hope there's like a uh somehow Dart Darth Helmet returned line or something like that to poke at the Palpatine line. That would be a lot of fun. Um your boy from Paramount that's gonna be leaving, his last thing basically before he leaves Tyler Sheridan, is a Call of Duty movie. Um I thought that was an interesting thing. So that he's gonna be he's gonna basically be producing and and coming up with a Call of Duty script for a live action movie. Um I thought that was that was an interesting movie.

SPEAKER_03

That was left field for me. Uh I wasn't expecting that, but um to to get it, it is is okay is cool. Just the only thing is that like Paramount did Halo and that was okay. So now that I hear that they're doing a Call of Duty, I'm like, eh. I'm not the not the most excited people to to to remake video game movies or TV shows. So if anything, it might be no it's gonna be all American. All American Call of Duty. God, yo, like that and that, like I was just like, eh, cool. I already got Call of Duty anyway, so that just made me even more like more of a reason to want to drop Call of Duty.

SPEAKER_00

I'm I'm assuming Milo Ventamilia will be part of this. Uh he seems to have a good part in the like the Call of Duty video game, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them like kind of pull on him to bring him in for this movie. Um can considering you know everything going on. Um we also have uh a new Scrooge movie coming from Johnny Depp and Ty West, which I thought was interesting. So Johnny Depp coming back did the thing. I'm here for that. Um, especially with Ty West attached directing, it it sounds like it should be pretty interesting. Um our alien overlord Tom Cruise is coming back to do Top Gun 3, and he's got another movie that's coming out uh called Dig or something like that, and and I I'm not a Tom Cruise fan. I could honestly care less about either one of these.

SPEAKER_03

Honestly, I've been come to a Tom Cruise fan recently. I never was before, but from what I've seen and what he did in the Mission Impossible, this last one, and really what I've really seen him do in Freaking Top Gun 2 was phenomenal. So I I'm I'm hyped to see Top Gun 3. That was Top Gun 2 was really fucking good, especially in the movie theaters. Like I haven't watched it. That was fucking great in the movie theater, bro.

SPEAKER_00

I am not a Tom Cruise fan, so I don't watch any of his movies, anything that he's in. Uh I I have not watched any of the Mission Impossibles, I haven't watched Top Gun.

SPEAKER_03

The drilling rush that this dude has and the balls is crazy. Because you know, all that stuff is practical and what he does.

SPEAKER_00

From what I heard about this other movie that he's doing, um, it almost seems like his character from Dodgeball, that Les Grossman uh character, or was or Tropic Thunder, I should say, when he's the agent, when he's on the prosthetics and he's fat and old and everything. Apparently, like that's what he looks like for this new movie that that he's doing. Um it's some like industrial um it's some industrial movie that like talking about um talking about like the environment and like the ecosystem and stuff like that, and it's just it's I'm not I'm not here for it. Like billionaire destroying the world type shit. That's kind of like Toy Story 5, which is apparently the most anticipated. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I heard that was really hype. So the whole thing revolves around Bonnie getting attached to this tablet and basically, you know, the the toys not being played with. So a very real life topic about how much you know your kids play with digital stuff and and aren't playing with like actual real toys or using their imagination. Yeah. So I thought that was cool. Um, the live action Moana was shown off. Uh that still doesn't do it for me. The rock just looks so fucking awkward in that wig.

SPEAKER_03

And and it just Yeah, I'm the biggest rock fan, so seeing him in anything, I'm here for it. But I will say he does look a little funny. But I mean, how how can you make a realistic uh Maui?

SPEAKER_00

Like and they they already shapeformed weirdly in in the cartoon, so to see him in this is as good in a talked about like Maui being inspired by the high chief Peter Mayavia too, and like gave this whole speech about how like it's about it's inspired by my my grandfather and this, that, and the third. And I'm just like, man, I've had enough of the rock. The other thing that rock uh is coming out is Jumanji 3, which is now it was supposed to come out before Doomsday and Dune, and now it's coming out on Christmas Day with Harry Potter. So I feel like they're gonna get the short end of the stick because you're gonna be dealing with a lot of people going back to re-rewatch Doomsday and go back to rewatch um Dune 3.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I was about to say, God damn, that's what's gonna be a good thing.

SPEAKER_00

Rather than going to see Jumanji 3 of all fucking things. But apparently on streaming. I've never even seen Jumanji 2. So the characters like in Jumanji, in the new Jumanji movies, like Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillen, The Rock, they're all like avatars for these kids that go into the game. The flip side is gonna be the avatars are coming to the real world, and like the Jumanji game is gonna take place in the real world this time rather than being like in the imaginary game world that it that it's in. Um I don't care again about either one of those movies, but um another highly anticipated movie that I have no connection to, but apparently was number two on the top ten list is Devil Wears Prada 2. Um I think the red carpet is going on right now as we record this, and they showed off a new teaser for it. Um I never saw the original one, but Anne Hathaway is is awesome.

SPEAKER_03

Is Anne Hatha? Yeah, and and she's Anne Hathaway, so I I get the hype behind that. Um it's a real girly movie, and I know it did transcend a whole generation, so I I can see the hype around that. So although I never saw the first one either, but I I get it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and and Meryl Streep is back and and all of that. So it I'm sure that the people who love the first one are gonna love the second one. Um the big thing that a lot of people kept talking about is this movie called Whale Fall, and it was part of the Disney presentation, and the scene that they showed is a diver who's underwater, and basically he sees like a giant squid underwater, and he's photography for taking photography of this giant squid, and all of a sudden, this whale comes and tries to eat the squid. In the process, this diver gets grabbed by the squid as the squid's being eaten by the whale, and you're watching this from like a camera view of the the diver being engulfed in this whale's mouth and trying to climb out, and everyone said the footage was fucking incredible at CinemaCon. And like, no, super troopers, it's the comedy where they're they're play the state troopers, it's it's the guys that are all together all the time. They have the firefighter show on Comedy Central 2. I forget what it's called. Uh they did Reno 9. No, never mind, never mind.

SPEAKER_03

Because you because you know what I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_00

No, they did talk about a Helldivers movie coming out. Um, I don't know anything about it. I just uh heard that it was announced. Um but yeah, that I think that's all that was said. It wasn't like a presentation for it or anything like that. Yeah. Alright, so we got our that'll wrap it up for CinemaCon. Um overall, like I said, great stuff a ton of stuff. We spent an hour and a half just talking about Cinemacon stuff, which is insane. Um so we're gonna try to shoot through quick some of our recap of Maul. We got the new episodes for episodes five and six of Maul. And man, I was so excited to wake up and know you were and watch this show. And then when I saw both episodes, I was just fucking blown away. I was so excited all morning. It was an action impact uh episode. Both episodes, like five and six, really like we got the fallout from two boots and lawson, and and two boots thinking that he did the right thing and that everything's gonna be fine, not realizing that like Lawson's in the crosshairs. Lawson's Lawson's commanding officer is is dead. I I hate to tell you that. I don't know if you picked up on that, but when Lawson gets brought into the interrogation room and asks about her, Maroc's like, you ain't you ain't never gonna see that bitch again. Like never. And then if you I don't know, I don't know if you if you noticed there's claw marks. Like she was like Maroc basically used a Jedi mind trick on her to get the information out of her, and you can see on the table that like she was gripping for her dear life to to try to not break. Um I love the the the fact that Maroc was shown as being such a strong, like he is the first brother. A lot of people don't realize that he is the the first brother Inquisitor, so you have the Grand Inquisitor and then you have him being next in line. Um he was never shown off as this, which I love that they actually made the Inquisitors be a challenge in this show. They're usually always seen as cannon fodder, they're usually always brought on to just kind of be that other person that the Jedi can take on before they get to, you know, one of the main villains. And I loved Maroc being like instrumental. You see him retracing the steps of the the crime from last two episodes, he's touching the lightsaber marks and the wall and can visualize uh like Calcestus can, you know, getting those force echoes of stuff. And I love that. I thought that was such a cool way of of you know showing us why he's an inquisitor and that he's not just like a fucking pushover. And the the the fact of him him tracing the steps of what what he found out and using the force echoes to like figure out the information and see all these different things. Um meanwhile, Lawson gets out of his interrogation, goes home thinking that like, man, I had the fucking worst day of my life. I'm just glad I got out of there and made it alive. And then he opens his fucking front door and there's his son harboring the two Jedi, and he's just looks at him, he's like, motherfucker. Like my day just went from bad to fucking worse. And like he's trying to I see, and I thought this was a fucked up move by Docky because now you now you not only like I understand from Dockie's position, he's the only person you think you can trust is Lawson, because you know his character, you know who he is as a person. But at the same time, you put him and his son in extreme danger just by going there and popping up there. And you see that because Maroc was already on his trail of like he figured that Lawson was going to do something after he left the interrogation, and he did.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and the other thing with Dockie too is like I I'm starting to feel like the only reason why he doesn't intervene with people or tries to get Devin to like not intervene with people is because he's wounded and he's old and he doesn't want to get into conversations. So you see him do stuff like go to Lawson's house because he feels like he'll be protected there, and then you see him like telling Devin, like, don't do this, don't do that, and she's like getting fed up of it. And I'm just like, dude, like just say you're you're down bad, like you you can't do this anymore. But then he's not. I feel like you're holding back Devin and you're putting y'all into more fucked up situations by doing that.

SPEAKER_00

But then he's not later on in the episode because he's bouncing around and him and Lawson look like a fucking amazing tag team. Like that scene of him jumping over and blocking the blaster bolts as Lawson's firing below. Dude, from hours below, no, no, no. Before the ship, as when they split up and they're they're on their separate ways, and you just have Lawson and Docky together, and you have Devin and his son together, and Lawson and Dockie are just making their way through all of these fucking troopers, and Docky's leaping over him, blocking the saber bolt, blocking the blaster bolts, and protecting Lawson at the same time, while Lawson's firing off his gun, taking the shots, and just pinpointing people. It was revealed in the in the last mall comic book that Lawson does have a past as a bounty hunter, and then we see when they go for protection at the you know his jump off that we met in the first episode, that yeah, she was his partner at one point. So that that's how that's their relationship, is that they were both bounty hunters at one point together. And Lawson knows from the situation.

SPEAKER_03

But from when yeah, but from when she when they pull up and to go to her to get help, sh the first thing that comes out of her mouth is, Oh, you brung your child. And she just sounds so salty when she says that shit. That I was just like, You definitely was you this was definitely in your girl before you met Riley's mom. 1000%. I don't think that you had a kid with it.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think I don't think it was before he met Riley's mom, who we did meet in this episode, and we'll we'll talk about her in a minute. But you you basically come to find out in this episode that Lawson and that girl were both bounty hunters before Lawson became a cop. So my assumption is Lawson was already married, had the kid, and then was doing bounty hunter missions with his with this girl, and ended up, you know, hooking up with her at some point, and that probably split up his marriage. And his wife went on to work for the Empire, like we saw. Um, she doesn't have any insignias, but we do find out she's on Coruscant. So that does narrow down what she's doing. There's a possibility that she's working on the Death Star. Very high possibility that she's part of the research crew working on the Death Star on Coruscant.

SPEAKER_03

Um, there's also like I gotta go back to work too, and you never know where she's at.

SPEAKER_00

And and there's also a possibility because there's no insignias on her. Usually you could tell by the the uniform that they're wearing or whatever the insignia is, where they're stationed or where they're working for. Um the other thing could be that she's she's working at part of the ISB because the ISB headquarters is on Coruscant. So it's it's not really specified. I'm sure she's gonna come back into play into this at some point, especially now that her son and her husband are on the run.

SPEAKER_02

Um and we have a second season coming out, too, so there's plenty of room to play with her.

SPEAKER_00

Well, let's see if Lawson and Lawson makes it out of this season, because that's the other thing I'm gonna talk about is two boots now. So two boots now is under full control of the Empire, does not realize that they even tell him, get take those boots off, they're not regulation.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god, I felt so bad for him when they told him that.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like and especially like the shot of boy, because he's the shot of two boots coming out and bringing Lawson the calf and like having the calf ready for him, just thinking everything was gonna go back to normal, and Lawson telling him, like, do you not realize what the fuck you just did? Like, this is this is not okay. We're not okay. The Empire's not what you think it is. And Two Boots doesn't have that realization because it's part of his protocol. And and I'm wondering during this whole pro and then he sees the wanted poster go up of Lawson, of like, oh fuck. So I'm I'm almost wondering if like the whole reason we've seen this Lawson and Two Boots relationship flush out is that eventually two boots is gonna have to make a decision. Does he bring in his best friend or does he kill his best friend in this process? That would be a brutal fucking way. Like, that would be heartbreaking at this point if Two Boots is the one to like kill Lawson before they even get off this planet.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he'll definitely go within the lowest ranks of uh droid-like ability on any Star Wars uh uh cinema, whatever you want to call it, in in hill in Star Wars history for me, because oh my god, you deaf you get you you you fumbled the bag way too hard.

SPEAKER_00

I had heard so many people complaining about the character of Lawson too, and and just like, why are we learning about this guy? What does he matter to the story? And I feel like as we see in this episode, they're him and his son are both very much important. And I could see a scenario where Lawson gets killed or something happens to him, and Riley is part of Maul's plan with Devin. Like, you know, the Jedi are taught not to have attachments. I could see Maul encouraging her having an attachment with Riley and you know pushing that relationship on her as another way to like continue to to fuel what he's doing. And then we we get to probably the most epic thing. Um, well, one thing before that, before we get to that, did you notice the whole thing with Rook Cass and the rest of the Mandalorians? The rest of the Mandalorians, now that the Empire's here, they want to go, they want to get the fuck out of here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And and Rooks Rook's trying to rein them in, but I think Rook is starting to feel like them too. So I'm wondering if as this season's gonna go on and and we start to see, you know, Maul thinks he has it all together, but if he loses if he loses the Mandalorians and he loses Rook, and then slowly like things, you know, he gets defeated here. Does Vader show up? You know, all of these things that could start to eat at Maul and like make everything fall apart, I I think that's where we're going. I think like we could easily see the Mandalorians disperse and like leave him and just kind of leave him stranded. And he's got the pikes, he's got Crimson Dawn still that he'll eventually take over and become the leader for. But I'm wondering if like we're seeing these seeds already of the Mandalorians are becoming disgruntled, they don't really want to follow Ma unless there's money involved, and if there's no money involved, they kind of want to bail and go do their own thing.

SPEAKER_03

And Rook tells him, like, you this is the person that you're trying to go after, but she's in some shit. Like, we should get out of here. And he's like annoyed with what Rook has to say, and he's really annoyed.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because when he's getting his leg fixed, which I thought was interesting too, because he feels the pain while scorn and and uh is working on his leg. Um he k when Rook opens the door, he kicks the fucking whatever he had his foot on at her, like and like is annoyed. Well, what do you want? And and she tells him, you know, but then it he he puts it together, oh, this is the perfect opportunity. She's gonna be on the run, Maroc's gonna be pursuing her, and I'll come in like the hero and save her. And that's exactly what he did. And that scene was fucking epic on the train, that whole fight sequence. And then when where is Maul? I'm right here, and he just has this fucking Batman moment, just standing on the side of the train, like, dude, I was like, fuck yes, and then that duel back and forth of Maul going at him and and Maul blocking the blade from Devin, and then Devin realizing like what Maul's doing, and her instinctively jumping in between and them going back and forth with Maroc. Absolute that Martin Scorsese fucking thing, absolute fucking cinema. Yeah, take my money, I am sold.

SPEAKER_03

Yo, but you know what's so crazy? It's just a coincidence though that Maul is always there for Devin in the most important times. Well, because times when jockey, when jockey is there, he just kind of plays like like as a babysitter to her. But the parts, the moments in jo in Devin's life as of right now, he's there for like the like he's making what he says sound so true. And I love that jockey tells her like you you're sounding like him, but you but you're but you shouldn't you shouldn't listen to to the speaking is you're it's it's your words you're speaking, but it's Maul's words coming out of your mouth.

SPEAKER_00

That's what he says to her. And Dockey, Dockey really is is trying his hardest to rein her in, and then even has the whole moment with with Lawson, as we see. Like him and Lawson are are you know fucking kicking all these stormtroopers' ass. And then Maul and her take on Maroc. And I love the now you've seen the face of your true enemy, but the camera pans back on Maul, and she's got the saber to Maul's throat, and Maul just kind of looks at her and just disignites his fucking saber and turns. And you see her like look at him for a minute with the saber still out, but then she disignites her. And follows him. So like it's working. It's all setting up here. And we saw at the very end of the episode, Maroc goes into the hologram, and and my guess is is speaking to Lord Vader. Oh, you think it's Vader?

SPEAKER_03

I think I thought it was Pal Palpatine.

SPEAKER_00

It looks like a hoodie. It did kind of look like a hood. He said my lord, though, when he when he when he was like, Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_03

That's the thing that fucks me up. But then what I see visually, it looks like a hoodie.

SPEAKER_00

Because like if he was talking to the emperor, he would say it was emperor, I think. Like it wouldn't be my lord. I don't think. I I my lord is usually Vader. Like they don't even call they don't even call the Grand Inquisitor my Lord. So that's what I was like, because he's Lord Vader to them. So that's why I thought it was Vader. It's a possibility it could be Palpatine. Um we know we know the Crow's gonna show up now in probably the next batch of episodes, and they'll there'll be two inquisitors on the planet hunting. Um but and we do see from the trailers that there's another duel with Maul and and both the Inquisitors, Maul taking on both Maroc and the Crow. Um I still think Dockey is more than likely gonna be killed by Maroc in in the next couple episodes. Um I don't again, I I don't think Maul's gonna be the one to do it, only because he can't do it. He needs he needs something that else to somebody else to do it to remove Doki out of her life, but it can't be him because if he does it, it'll push her away. And I think if if it's Maroc, it'll allow Devin the opportunity to kill Maroc and really feed into her vengeance, and that'll be the moment where we see her actually let go and j and use the dark side. And we saw in this episode, she is very powerful. And and she does some stuff that like she does the Ahsoka move when she rips dude out of the cockpit, and you see the the aggressiveness to her. And shout out to Gideon Adelon, she is absolutely phenomenal in this in this. She also just debuted in you in the new season of Euphoria as well, so she's got two things out right now. Um, she looks fantastic in the in Euphoria, by the way. Um, but yeah, she's she's becoming one of my favorite characters, and I love the fact that we're in her position as an audience. We're listening to all of the things that Maul's saying to her, and we're getting the same treatment she is, where these things sound believable to us as an audience member. You're feeling like she does, where you know what? He's like we said a couple weeks ago, like he's out of line, but he's fucking right. Like and then you get the.

SPEAKER_03

And he keeps proving himself coincidentally. Like it's like, why are you right? I hate that you're fucking right. Oh, I hate that he's over.

SPEAKER_00

You're the bad for me when I hear you're right, yeah. And you're you're there. So I love where this is going. Um, I'm interested to see how Riley now is gonna play into all of this now that you know Devin pretty much has him safeguarded, I guess. Um yeah, I I think we're gonna see their relationship grow a little bit more. Like I said, I think Maul could influence that relationship a little bit more and push it on her as another way to like make her forsake the ways of the Jedi. Um, so yeah, I think all of these things are gonna come into play, and I'm so interested to see for next week. Like, I I can't wait. Um everybody Yeah, I think every No go ahead. Everybody's only seen up to the the next two episodes. So the the final two episodes no one has gotten. Um, but everyone has said from that that got the you know, got these episodes ahead of time that from episode four on it was all gas, no breaks, and and so far we've seen that, especially with these episodes five and six. Like this just was all ex all pedaled to the metal the whole entire way through, and and I loved it. I thought it was fantastic.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, right in time for May the 4th and and so much more, so I I can't wait.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and and I'm I'm really, really interested to see how overall this this season's gonna end and how we're gonna get to next season. Like, you know, if there's gonna be a time jump involved, uh how we're gonna leave all these characters, and then how we're gonna, you know, how does Lawson factor in? How does his son factor in? How does you know, all these characters that we've been introduced, and and I'm loving this whole entire cast. Like everybody who's part of this cast is playing their role so well, and you really care about every one of these characters now at this point by you know episode six in the show. Like I'm sold on all of them, and and I just can't wait to see, you know, how the dominoes fall, what with as it continues.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, my my number one other thing is that I'm I'm kind of starting to get tired of jockey be just because of the fact that he he he doesn't he's he's he's not there for for her the way he should be, and he just keeps showing it. And I feel like he's holding her back in a way, and I know she has that attachment to him, but I'm kinda like I want him, I want to I want this part this the relationship stuff to move on. I really thought he was gonna die this episode for real, for real. Um I think it's I think it's next week.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, my my guess would be once Marak shows up, I I just think that's the easiest play, is you have Maroc kill kill Dockey in in a fight, and then you have Devon lose her shit and kill Maroc, and that would be the the the breaking point. That would be Maul pushing her to the edge and allowing it to happen, being the bystander and not being the one to to push her. You know what I mean? Like allow her own actions and her own anger. And I love that thing that he says to Rook. Brooke's like, she tried to kill you, and Maul's like, yeah, she did. She'd make a fantastic fucking apprentice because that's what us fucking darksiders do. We have to try to kill our master. Like, that doesn't make you a good you're not a good apprentice if you haven't tried to kill your master at least once. Like, yeah, I love that. And and I I thought like you're seeing that split between him and Rook, and and I think you know, Devin joining Maul and becoming aligned with Maul is gonna be that final thing that maybe breaks him apart from the Mandalorians. And you know, Maul is Maul is in still possession of the Darksaber, so technically he he is their ruler still by law and and by tradition. Um but we we we know the darksaber is on Dathomir.

SPEAKER_03

I forgot to mention this before, but uh when they put Lawson in the interrogation room and I saw the holograph of Maul, I first thought that Maul was uh like he ended up somehow controlling the freaking empire. But then when they turned around and then you seen that it was the Inquisitor, I was like, oh shit, it's the Inquisitor. Yeah. But then that was a good one. In that case, that was a good, that was a good, that was a good um introduction.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and and like you know, you're watching everything play out exactly the way Maul told him it was gonna play out. Like, hey, if if things continue to go this way, the empire is gonna show up, and then we're all fucked. And then now you're watching it. And you're getting a lot of shades of Andor with this show as well, with this whole situation, because we saw this same scenario happen in Andor where the Empire shows up to a planet, they take over, and immediately, like there was no time wasted. They immediately dispersed all kinds of troops all over this planet, stopped all the ships from taking off, locked the whole planet down, and even Vario's like, what good is my fucking cartel at this point? Because now I I can't even do anything. He's like, I might as well fucking stay with you. What does it matter? Like, I'm I'm a dead man either way, pretty much. Like, if my business is shot, and if I leave you, I I have no protection, so might it's better to stay with you than it is to go on my own. So yeah, I I I can't wait to see the next two episodes um and and you know where we're heading towards for those final two. Because if if there's a reason that that final episode does not have a title released yet, and that they have not shown those final two episodes to anybody just leaves me to believe like we're gonna see something fucking epic in in those final two episodes. Well, yeah, I can't wait. And uh, we got a new episode of Daredevil and I have to eat crow on this podcast because I said there was no fucking way Vanessa was gonna still be alive. No fucking way, because what was the fucking point? What would be the point of keeping her alive after all of that? And to my dismay, they brought her fucking back alive for a good ten minutes to have this scene with the Kingpin just to have a stroke and die again.

SPEAKER_03

Um But that was a little bit more cinematic, and it felt more real to me that let me know that she actually was she's done this time and gave her justice for dying, I guess, this time. Did they? I mean, I I do because you know it you could you we got to see Kingpin emotion mo the most emotional that we've ever seen him for. He's you know, when he tells them to get the fucking pineapple juice and don't tell anybody about it, and he'll do whatever for her. Um and and then like uh, you know, instead of her just dying off of bullseye, just popping her in her head, we got to see like how they met and which I felt like we learned though in the original show.

SPEAKER_00

Didn't we learn all about that painting in the original show? In like the Netflix version of the show.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but they didn't show you the the like the the scene of like how they actually met, more of her personality. It was always just him talking about why he loved the painting and stuff like that. Um so yeah, I I I thought it did justice cinematically. I felt the emotion from it and what they were trying to give off there. Um and yeah, the go ahead. I I'll talk more about the episode, but do you have anything else to say?

SPEAKER_00

Um, for me, again, bullseye is the absolute standout of of this episode again. Um I'm I'm more riveted with his story than anything else. Um, and especially Matt bringing him back at the end. He was gonna leave him for dead in the church, and then he went back for him because he remembered what Faki said. And then Karen's reaction when Matt walks in with him. Karen's like, you gotta be fucking kidding me. Like, this guy killed our best friend, and here you are dragging his sorry ass into in here. I'm caring.

SPEAKER_03

I'm caring in this situation. As much as I know he's supposed to give her mercy, and then they show you the flashback of what would Foggy do. I don't know. I just something about me that just doesn't fucking feel right about it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I um for me Bullseye's the only character I care about in this show. Everybody else, I so yeah, it's great that he still has to play a role for you. I love Kingpin, I love Vincent D'Anafrio. His his performance alone goes without saying. But um, out of all of these characters, Bullseye is the most interesting story for me in this whole show. And then the other thing I keep asking myself is where the fuck is Jessica Jones?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, she's coming next one for sure. I just saw the trailer for the next episode tomorrow. They're definitely bringing her next to this one.

SPEAKER_00

They keep acting like she's such a big part of this season, and here we are almost at the end of the season, and she still hasn't fucking shown up yet. And to me, that that's the other, like, even she doesn't make me more excited. Like, I'm not when I see Jessica Jones, I'm my excitement level for this show isn't gonna change. It's still the same. It's just like you build her as being a big part of this season, and she's not. She's gonna show up at the end of this season and then be part of the next season, which is kind of a bait and switch thing that you know we we we talked about earlier, even with the cinema con stuff. I feel like the Marvel camp is is in this in this boat right now of like we're gonna tell you one thing and then we're gonna do something totally different.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, um I I I'm ready to see her next episode. Um this the the thing about this season, this episode the most I really enjoyed was the foggy stuff, um, the flashback stuff that we got to see of him. Um just get him back inside just to see him again and like acting was was great. Um learning about the the the the dude that he grew up with on the street. And although the guy that he grew up with, what he did compared to what Bullside did is like is not the same thing because it's like the dude he was like just known in the streets to be like a bully and just riled a couple people. Or he was working for Gold. Yeah, this dude fucking killed Vanessa, killed killed you killed Foggy, like I don't know. That's why I mean like it don't it don't match to me.

SPEAKER_00

Like it's not the same thing, but is it is it odd that I that I almost wish they killed Karen instead of Foggy?

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. Um I get why because you know like she dies. I just think her character in general is even in the books in in this, like I I she's just annoying. So I guess I feel like that for you for I feel like that wouldn't be a bad thing to me.

SPEAKER_00

And so I I love Deborah Ann Wolf. Like, don't get me wrong. I I loved her in True Blood, um, I've loved her in other stuff I've seen her in. I was excited that she was coming back for for you know Born Again when it was announced. This season though, like I could totally do without her. Like her whole storyline is just becoming like a a bogged down version of something that like I just don't care about. Like, give me the Matt and Bullseye stuff, give me the kingpin stuff, let's get this to a culmination now and and wrap this up because it's it's we're we're past that point. They've dragged this out now for a whole season when I I don't really feel like it needed to be. I would yeah. And and get to season three, whatever your plot line for season three is gonna be involving Luke Cage and Iron Fist and Jessica Jones, reunite them and get us to Secret Wars. You know, like that that's where we're headed. Um I just I I I I I don't think this show's gonna do anything groundbreaking other than him showing up in Spider-Man. Like if if he is in fact part of the Spider-Man, the whole hand situation and and the stuff in the in the prison has to do with with Matt being involved, I'll be more excited for that. But as far as the Daredevil show, like I could take it or leave it at this point. Like I'm not excited to watch it. It's it's literally like the last thing I go to watch at before we do the show. Like I watch everything else. I watch Rooster before it, like I watch all of these other shows, and then I finally get around to watching the Daredevil episode, and I'm just like, okay, like and and like I said, maybe it's me. I I I see people that are having these like incredible reactions to it and love it every week. And like you I know you love this show.

SPEAKER_02

Like I do.

SPEAKER_00

I just I I wish I had that same excitement for it because I just don't. I I'm just like I watch it and I'm just like, okay, like next episode next week.

SPEAKER_03

Like I just love the I've been a character of a fan of Daredevil for for forever though. So that's that's that's just where it comes from for me. But the thing too, for me is like um damn, I just lost my train of thought. Fuck. Um it is fan of Daredevil, you were saying.

SPEAKER_00

You're saying you're a fan of Daredevil, and the thing for you about this show is is because you're a fan of Daredevil.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Mm-hmm. Yeah, that that's the that's a plot of what I was gonna say. Um, we were talking about Karen. Oh man, I just talked about it.

SPEAKER_00

Jessica Jones and and all these other characters. We've been on here for two hours. It's it's alright that your brain your brain's going after after talking about all this stuff for two hours. Um they'll come back to you. I'm I'm ready for this show to like get to its climax, get to the end, and let's get to the next season. Uh get me to the Spider-Man movie and see if he's actually involved in that, and then go from there. Um I I think I would have a different viewpoint. Like, if he does show up in the Spider-Man movie and and we get all that, and we know, like, alright, Peter is assembling his team for Secret Wars, and and this is who it's gonna be. I think I'm way more excited at that point. But as of right now, watching the show week to week, I'm I'd I'd rather this dropped all at once and just binge the whole thing and be done with it and then not have to keep coming back to this every week. Because for me, it's not it's not that type of show.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that was I remember what I was gonna say. It this episode for sure was probably one of the least favorite of uh of all the episodes because of the fact that it was such a V of a um of a flashback episode, and I I did get a sense of like, okay, we still haven't gotten Jessica Jones yet. Hopefully we we should get her tomorrow, uh, as of what we're as when we're recording. Um and and like it's just like where where else are we going here right now? Because it's just like the plan was to take down Fisk. Um, obviously now Fisk is gonna be really upset now that his wife is dead, so he he we better come with a vengeance. And but you know, like I mean, uh well the next thing that we can see is just Matt going straight at him and probably doesn't succeed, and Jessica Jones, like we said, and everybody else, we'll see in season three.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but I they're gonna have to wrap up this this kingpin thing at the end of this season. Like, Kingpin's gotta be removed out of office as mayor. Mayor Rivera has to be in place because you see her in Spider-Man. So, like, this whole Kingpin thing has to be wrapped up by this season. So then this is the first time.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I think it's just gonna be the Kingpin. I think of Kingpin being mayor thing is gonna be wrapped up. I feel like maybe the girl who's the mayor from Albany or wherever that is, that the the Vanessa wants to talk to, is probably gonna she's probably gonna do something so fucked up that she's gonna say you gotta step down or uh Vanessa not Vanessa um uh thunderbolts. I think Kingpin's gonna do something.

SPEAKER_00

Like he literally is gonna ruin his whole reputation now because he's gonna go after Bullseye and and Daredevil. Like he's gonna want Bullseye dead. And I don't know, I don't know if he's gonna succeed with that. I I kind of hope that we get Matt and Bullseye teaming up against Kingpin for the final fight, but who who knows what we're what it's gonna actually be and it's task force. I do still find Gandolfini's story though to be another interesting thing. Like I'm more invested in his character and the whole Buck situation of him thinking that Buck was gonna kill him. Buck went into the the had him stop at the store, comes out with the the comes out with the saw, comes out with the shovel, and then pulls up. He you know, he ridicules him the whole way. Buck almost uh, you know, Gandolfini's character almost almost shit his pants and admitted to what he was doing almost. And then, you know, he's like, which what do you want, the saw or the shovel, and shows the body in the back of the trunk that they've been driving around this whole entire game.

SPEAKER_03

Is that a is that a sopranos reference at all? I kept feeling like that was something. Just him showing him like what do you want, the saw, the shovel, and showing him the the body in the back. Is that a is that a soprano reference?

SPEAKER_00

That that is a soprano reference. That's from uh that's from from when Paulie and uh the other one go to the go out and and bury the body. And he's like, What do you want, the shovel or the saw? And so yeah, it is a it is a callback to find it. Okay. And like I I really like Gandolfini. Like I don't know if it's my attachment to his father and just seeing like bits of that, you know, in in the kid.

SPEAKER_03

He is a spinning image of his dad. Like, it's a big thing.

SPEAKER_00

And like he played his dad in the Sopranos prequel, you know, that they did on HBO. Um so it's I I'm I'm I'd like to see I'd like to see more of him in other stuff, honestly. Um I I I like him in this show, I like where this storyline is heading, and I'm interested to see if like he's gonna have to intervene or Buck's gonna be the one to put down his girlfriend. You know what I mean? Like his girlfriend's the one leaking the information. It's only a matter of time before somebody puts that together and and or Buck and he's gonna snitch his Yeah, he's gonna snitch somewhere or another because he almost did it this episode.

SPEAKER_03

I I just I just feel like that's isn't in his character, just it's he's gonna snitch.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so um uh again, I I want to see this show kind of wrap itself up now at this point. I'm I'm past that point. Like, if this show would have dropped all at once, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot better. But the week to week on Daredevil is is not it for me. At least with Maul, we're getting two episodes a week, so you kind of get like a resolution every week. With Daredevil, it's just kind of been like, all right, I have to wait for next week, and then I wait for next week and then nothing kind of happens.

SPEAKER_03

I've only felt like the same as you after this episode. Because this episode really made me say, Yeah, alright. When I see flashback episodes like this, I always feel like they they didn't know what to write in the story here, so they threw a flashback episode in there to to to save time in the story. So like well after seeing this, I'm like, Alright, I'm ready to see what happens. You know, and another thing, honestly, Mike, you fucked it up for me because now I know what's gonna happen. So now I'm more anticipated to see what's gonna happen. So that's another reason why I'm ready to see the end of this because you're talking about Mike Colton. Yeah, you you ruined the surprise for me, but like honestly. So like now I just read I'm ready to see where we get at the end of this.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, I mean, uh obviously we know Matt's going to jail. That's that's how this is gonna end. So um I'm guessing everyone everyone's gonna know Matt Matt Murdock is is their devil when it's when it's all said and done. And and for me, like I said, like even with that major spoiler, it's just like, okay, so that's where we're going with it. And it's just like that's what I've invested week to week on. My payoff isn't really worth it, in in my opinion. Yeah, um, I I know you didn't watch the boys episode three, um, but this show just continues to be phenomenal. Um they are ramping up. Soldier boy and Janson Eccles is is really like he's such a dick, but he's so likable in this show that like he's still my pick to play Batman. Like for DCU Batman, I still think he is the best choice for it. Um even though he is older, um, I I just think he can pull it off so well, and this show just continues to prove it. I'm really looking forward to seeing the soldier boy spin-off that we're gonna get from this. Um, but yeah, so far this season of the boys is is fucking phenomenal. I can't wait for the next episode. Um, and nobody is safe. Nobody's off limits in this show at all, especially because it is the final season. So anybody could die at any point, and and I think that really ups the stakes for you know this this whole entire series so far. Uh, what do you got for comics of the week? Because we've been here for two hours already. I'm sure people are tired of listening to us talk.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so for me, um obviously it's absolute batman. Uh we get the introduction of um of Robin, but also the introduction of Scarecrow as well. That's true in this. Um yeah, and um it's it's really good. This is uh just like a normal mention, but my real comic of the week was the new Nightwing, the bridge. Um I didn't read the first issue, but I mean going into this, it kind of tells its own story in a way. So um this was a shot in the dark for me. I wasn't expecting to really like this one, but I love the grittiness of it. I love the story of it. It's uh you get Batman in this as well. Yeah, I picked it up too. And um, and I'm trying to get more into the uh trying to join the wave of the Nightwing stuff, so to kind of get a sense of what everybody loves about this guy so much. And um, especially this, especially this this writer.

SPEAKER_00

Like the this run has has been uh I think it's Dan Waters, if I'm not mistaken. I don't have it in front of me. Um but his run of Nightwing essentially has been has been really, really good so far. So yeah, that was that was a solid book this week. That's all you got?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, those were my yeah, that's those one of my two. I did get some other stuff. It was just it was not that mentioned. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So, like you said, absolute Batman, we got the debut of uh Absolute Deathstroke, which we come to find out is basically the general for Joker. Um, Joker has stepped up his presence now in public and is being seen all over the place after being like an elusive guy. Uh he has Deathstroke basically unveil the Robins, and you come to find out that the Robins were trained all by Deathstroke and raised by Joker. They're it's all the Robins that we know and love, uh just basically raised by Joker since they were orphans and and bred as soldiers. So we're gonna see them in mech suits. Uh, I don't know how that's gonna go, but it's uh crazy as shit. And the debut of Absolute Scarecrow was also in this issue, and he was fucking awesome. Like that scene with him and the farmers was pretty fucking cool.

SPEAKER_03

Um I had to reread the page again to see if I've really read read and seen what I just saw. I was like, oh shit, it's like that.

SPEAKER_00

And they're using like the crows and his cigarette smoke as like the the cigarette smoke is the fear toxin that he like breathes out into the air, and fucking you see the the big thing in this issue was the death of of Gordon. Um they they they killed Jim Gordon, and Bruce tries to save him as he as he jumps off the fucking cliff, and he gives Bruce all the information though about his mom and the corda owls and basically tells him you don't want to know what you're about to find out and and goes to jump and fucking Bruce thinks he got him and then doesn't have him and Gordon's smack dead on the pavement. So now the whole the whole city of Gotham Spider-Man to him. Yeah, the whole city of Gotham thinks that Bruce killed Gordon and now is is on the hunt for for Batman. Um so definitely an interesting story. I'm interested to see where this is gonna go. Um this book I I really continue to love is Deathstroke, uh issue number two. This story, I did get that too. Yeah. Just just keeps getting better and better. The Terminator. Um, we're gonna see Rose Wilson pop up his daughter in the next couple issues. Uh so yeah, this just balls to the wall action. Uh, this is a guy's guys book, really. Um it's just it's it's like full-on like action hero from start to finish, and and it's just fucking phenomenal if you like those types of books. Um New Titans for me. Uh, we're talking about Nightwing. New Titans for me is is really pretty awesome. So we come to find out that after the events of DCKO, Cyborg and Vic actually have split into two separate people. So Cyborg is now basically trying to safeguard his friends inadvertently, and Vic and the rest of the Titans are basically going after like full Cyborg. So interesting flip on the story. Um, I know this whole cast is gonna eventually change over to the new, the, you know, the newer Titans with Stephanie Brown and and you know the rest of the cast that's been introduced with Jonathan Kent and stuff, but so far I'm really liking this. I I don't know, you know, when that tr when that changeover is gonna happen. And uh last but not least, Wonder Woman, uh, the continuation of the the matriarchs and this story with um I'm loving this. I hope I saw so many people complaining about this. This is part two of the story, and uh Wonder Woman and Trinity go basically to break out Superman in in a prison, um, and you come to find out that Steve Trevor is locked up in that same prison with Clark, and Steve Trevor is the father of Trinity.

SPEAKER_03

So really cool is that that David Elmanami um variant?

SPEAKER_00

That's his cover, yeah. Nakamura. Yeah. Yeah, so uh yeah, I I I'm really liking this this series so far for Wonder Woman and and where that's going. I I love kind of the the take on it and the take on this this character. She's basically an Amazon that was in exile, like exiled from uh Themisera, and she's in the possession of a Legion ring, she's in the possession of a Green Lantern ring. She fucking kills Bane in the fucking issue. You basically see her have have Bane brought in front of her, and she basically just beats the living shit out of Bane until he dies, and then she kisses him on his forehead before she kills him. Um another thing with Flash, she brings Flash to Gorilla Grod and basically just lets Grod and his gorillas rip Fla Barry apart, or Wally, whoever whichever Flash it is. Um so at the same time that she's giving like a public press interview. So like she's having like a sit-down interview with this journalist, and she's recounting all of these things, but she's presenting it in like, oh well, I saved the world from these these dastards, you know. This meanwhile, she's recounting what actually happened in her head, and you're seeing like the the events fall out. And it to me, I really like this story. Like, I I can't get enough of this. Um, so I'm really looking forward to to more of this Wonder Woman story. Um, it's it's just been a lot, a lot of fun. Yeah. I gotta get into you have anything uh that you were watching this week?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so we got um a new episode of um Your Friends and Neighbors. Um I've been really enjoying that a lot. Um we also uh I mean Daredevil was one of them, as we talked about. Um I still haven't got around to finish um the two mains I of um DTLR and the rookie. I I heard DTLR um DTF uh was the ending was nah. Like it was okay.

SPEAKER_00

It was. I I I I keep wanting to talk about it, but I don't want to spoil it for you because you have to watch it. You watch the whole show. So um yeah, the the the finale was unexpected, I guess you could say. Um it didn't go how anybody thought it was gonna go, or basically how the premise of the show was. Um so it was kind of like okay, you watch the events unfold and you get to see like what happens and how he actually died, but it wasn't how anybody thought. Even the police, like you basically watch their reaction to finding out how it all played out and like, oh shit, okay. So we were all wrong, you know, and like in it was one of those situations. Rooster continues to be fucking phenomenal. Um, the new episode I watched last night, I love this show. Um it's it's so it for me, I could find comedy shows, right? I could find comedy shows that like make me laugh, and it's very rare that I can find a comedy show that makes me laugh, but also makes me happy and makes me understand like the scenarios that are playing out on the screen. And and for me, I I think it's a fantastic show. Like I highly recommend everybody watch it.

SPEAKER_03

Um I've always enjoyed that more than DCF too.

SPEAKER_00

So I think it's and Steve Carrell just fucking kills it. Like you come. I have to get a job. I've been spoken online on the social show. So yeah, there's there's some function. You can save it if you want. So do you you remember like the student that he's like mentoring, right? Yes. Like the the big the big guy who like kind of becomes like his friend, but he's he's one of his students. Yeah. Uh-huh. I knew he talked about it. So he's he's been sleeping with the receptionist, you know, the the the Chrysal or whatever her name is. And so like he encourages dude to go back home to his, you know, whatever, you can't live here if you till you get your grades right, whatever. And fucking dude walks into his house, and there's Steve Carrell in his fucking underwear and fucking drinking something out of the carton. And he's like, Rooster, what are you doing here? And you hear his mom scream from the bedroom. Bring some bring some whipped cream. I want to lick it all over you. And and he's just fucking sitting there like, What? Like you're fucking my mom? Like, dude, it was so fucking funny. And then just how it how it all plays out in this next episode was even funnier. Oh shit. He's like, I can't look at you with I can't look at you without seeing your fucking your fucking penis. He's like, how many old people's penises have you seen? He's like, I don't want to talk about it. So it's just a funny show, man, and I'm really enjoying it. And um the guy who plays like the the guy from Scrubs that plays like the the dean of the school, he's fucking hilarious in this in this next you know, new episode. Always in the fucking sauna and shit. Yeah, yeah, and like just his his over like his his lack of personal space and like breaking, you know, doesn't want anybody to leave him. It's it's very funny. So I'm enjoying that a lot. Um I'm trying to think if there's anything else that like I checked out this week. I'm sure there was, I just can't think of it off the top of it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, now that shrinking is done, um I'm catching, I'm doing I'm playing catch up too.

SPEAKER_00

So uh before we go, as we talked about in the beginning of the episode, WrestleMania took place in Las Vegas. Oh, that's what I um I we don't have to run through the whole entire thing because we've been here for a very long time. But overall, like what were your thoughts about this year's WrestleMania? Like, did you enjoy anything? Was there anything that stood out for you, or did you feel like uh this wasn't it?

SPEAKER_03

Um, so first things first I want to say to WWE, I know you guys are getting all this money and life is straight. But we gotta stick to one fucking sp platform because I gave you one I gave you your platform for WrestleMania one year and the next year you're going somewhere else. We gotta stop doing that because not everybody in the world has every fucking uh streaming platform. So because of that, I was not able to see a lot of the the the matches in full. I saw a lot of the clips. Um from but from what I seen in clips, um night one with uh well that would be I guess that would be night well, I'm just talking about Saturday and Sunday. So for Saturday, it seemed like the Cody Rhodes um and um uh um Randy Orton Fight was was okay. Um and it seemed like the rant the the CM Punk and Ray Roman one was the one that most people talked about. As it should, because Sunday night usually is the big one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But um overall, um it it it just seemed like like a normal like like a regular match. Like I although these matches were hyped up and big matches, there's nothing that was so crazy that that happened. Um yeah, it wasn't a good card at all. And and if and as far as like um like even clips-wise, I've only seen real really the only clips I seen was of the the two main matches. Which what which was the you know, the Roman one and the Cody one. And um, but on a good half though, I did love um Brad Daniels, I think his name is his demon um uh suit or whatever his persona because that's that's Finn Balor. You're talking about Finn Balor, I meant, yes. Brad Daniels. That's who you said Brad Daniels.

SPEAKER_00

Who the fuck is Brad Daniels? I so I I love Finn. Um I I I have a bunch of his clothing brand, uh smile its peak stuff. Um for me, I hate the the way they gimmick the demon. It's not supposed to be a gimmick. It was something that he did in Japan where whenever it was a big show, he would just paint himself. And it was just it wasn't to be like a new character, it wasn't to be a gimmick. It was like for one of the big Wrestle Kingdoms, he did like a venom paint, and then for one of the other big ones, he did like a Joker paint. And that's kind of it's just like a almost like a a war thing. Like you you he paints up before the big matches, and like WWE. Yeah, and WWE made it into like this weird fucking gimmicky thing that like I hate. So like I was hoping that they were gonna get away from that with this when they they announced that like he was gonna be wrestling as the demon because it had been so long, and then he just came out and did the same shtick. It was cool that he won.

SPEAKER_02

Um the moment for get up though, it's sick to me.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's the two big moments for me was um Soraya Page coming back to win the tag team title. Um that was the highlight of night one for me. I I didn't expect her to come back. I did hear rumors that she would. Um, but for everything that she's encountered and everything that she's gone through to having to retire from wrestling, to now being able to come back to WWE um and win the tag team title with one of the Bella twins, I thought that was a fantastic moment. And then night two was the Danhausen moment. Danhausen and John Cena being together and and Danhausen getting that cosign. Uh Danhausen, I've seen him at indie shows. I've been a fan of his for a long time to watch him work his ass off to get to WWE and to to see how they're using him as opposed to how AEW used him and how he was used in other companies. Like WWE's shot him to the moon, and I couldn't be happier for Dan Housen. So um, those were the two highlights for me. The rest of the card and the rest of the matches, I really didn't care. Um, I thought it was pretty bad show all around. Um, there were a couple good moments. Oba Femi beating Brock Lesnar. Looks like Oba Femi's gonna get pushed to the moon and gonna get that match with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam for the title. So it seems like they're already like anointing him as like the next guy that they want to push.

SPEAKER_03

How'd you feel about the Hall of Fame stuff?

SPEAKER_00

I didn't watch it. Um I I caught clips of Stephanie's uh speech, but that was about it. I didn't watch anything else or or or you know, tune in for it.

SPEAKER_03

I I don't like I just didn't like how she was introducing herself and then she did it herself at in the in the Hill version. I don't know. It's just something about that was just kind of corny to me. I just probably should have talked her out.

SPEAKER_00

I like her podcast. Um she's got a really cool podcast on on YouTube, and they this week because she was being inducted, they flipped it around and had Triple H come on and interview her, and I thought that was a lot of fun. Uh okay. So it was it was cool to see her like talk about her coming up in the business and you know how she got into like wrestling and and you know, just the whole story of everything, how they met, everything. So it was it was interesting. Uh I'm happy for Stephanie McMahon. I'm I've always like liked her as a person over the rest of her family. I did notice though that Shane Shane McMahon was nowhere to be found for any of this, which I I found interesting. Um he wasn't he wasn't at the Hall of Fame, he wasn't shown on TV, like nothing. So I'm guessing there's still bad blood over everything that took place, you know, from from his end. And uh and his son's getting ready to be like a pro football player, like his son's in a division one school and and you know is a standout player, so I'm sure his attention's there rather than you know with a company that he no longer has a stake in. So but overall I I I I think it was forgettable. I think it it wasn't something that that people are gonna talk about for years to come like a lot of the other WrestleMania's. So uh yeah, but we've been here for two hours and twenty minutes. I thank every single one of you that have tuned in for that entire time.
