Hey, what's going on, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Talkin' Soups. I'm Ed from Ways of the Sith. And I'm Andy Gotcha. What's going on? What's going on? We're back for another week. Um, this week, man, first and foremost, we're recording this on May the 4th. So happy May the 4th to everybody that celebrates all the Star Wars fans out there. Uh Andy's got his shirt on. We got our we got our Burger King meals uh in hand here.
SPEAKER_02And I got I got I got the blue I got the blue uh milkshake for the blue milk. So I thought I might do like a quick reaction to it real quick. Go ahead. Go ahead. Tell us. Tell us.
SPEAKER_00And we got our I got my collect collectible cut with Zab on the front. So pretty pretty damn cool. Was your Burger King packed? Because mine mine was. Mine was loaded with people getting this meal today, which I was impressed by.
SPEAKER_02So Saturday night, I left my friend's house who lives right around the block from that Burger King. And it was around like 12 o'clock. And I looked to my left because the light was there, and I see the line to the Burger King, and I'm like, damn, everybody's in that motherfucker. What's going on over there? So then I thought about it, and I remember the meal was out, but I didn't I didn't think it didn't come out till today for May the 4th. So I was like, nah, I can't be the because of the meal. But then I looked back and seen that this started actually April 28th. So I was like, oh, did it? And that was for the meal. Okay. See, I didn't know that.
SPEAKER_00I thought it came out today. I thought today was the like release date for it or whatever you want to call it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So yeah, but other than that, the so for my reaction of this, uh, it basically tastes like a sugar cookie and like a vanilla milkshake.
SPEAKER_00Uh sugar cookie and vanilla milkshake. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I'm still here for it because it's blue milk and it's great.
SPEAKER_00I bought I bought the bull the blue milk when it came out last year with True Moo, and it was so sugary, dude. I had to, I like I bought what I bought two bottles of it thinking like, oh yeah, I'm gonna house this. This is gonna be great. I drank like one cup, and I was like, man, I gotta get rid of this. This is disgusting.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna have to do it. I also had the one have you ever had the one that's over there in Galaxy's Edge?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the Galaxy's Edge one's like legit. It's frozen, it's it's a little bit better. Um, but the the one that they did through True Moo was like Yeah. Diabetes in a bottom.
SPEAKER_02I think they have this other one of uh who's the dude from Star Wars who has like the the long elephant nose and like uh and like the wings that he flies. Oh uh Watto. Yeah, I so they came out with a milk for him, and it wasn't like all yellow. I don't know if this was real now, but the dude pulled it out. He had the Truman on and everything, and he tried it. He said his shit was disgusting.
SPEAKER_00I would assume it would probably be. I don't know, I don't even remember seeing that, so that's that's kind of crazy. Yeah, I gotta send that to you. But we got our fix of Star Wars this morning, and uh you know I'm gonna say it. Go run back the clip, go run back the clip from from our preview at my boys over on Children of the Watch always say, I guarantee we're gonna get Darth Vader in this show.
SPEAKER_02Um that's a big that's a big regular speculation, but I like it.
SPEAKER_00I guarantee we got Darth Vader, and he showed the fuck up. And did he show the fuck up? He showed up like Michael fucking Myers on this show, and I loved it. Um six people died in this episode. Six people in the finale. Like, can you fucking believe it? Well, actually, I should say more than six, because there was about six Mandalorians that died too, but we lost Rookcast, RIP to Rookcast. She's she got killed by Vader. Uh, two of the Mandalorians with her got killed by Vader.
SPEAKER_02Um Master, I had to run that back because I I I forgot I had to run that back because I forgot like where she went because there was so much going on, especially with the fight scenes and everything. Yeah that that that I totally forgot where she went. So I had to rewatch that I had to rewatch that part because I was like, she is she really dead or no?
SPEAKER_00So so her her and uh these other Mandalorians like go out into the woods to go get the docking bay, and then all of a sudden you just hear blaster fire and you see her running back, and she's like, Sir, there's something out in the and you she drops to the ground and gets force pulled back, and then you just hear the lightsaber, and like I was like, Oh, I thought you maybe crushed her bones because I could have sworn that sounded like a button. He might have crushed her big. Because like it does happen off screen, you don't see it actually happen. She gets like dragged into the mist when it when it takes place. Um Little Vario fucking survived. Uh Icarus burned, which which I figured some sort, some way he was gonna burn because of his name being Icarus. Like Dave Faloni doesn't name characters lightly, so if he's naming the character specifically, then more than likely that's that's why. You know what I mean? So we saw Icarus uh basically sacrifice himself, um, Ico Dicky Daka. The guy we keep Master Dockey.
SPEAKER_02Master Dockey. Um even in that before he before he died, I was there was still so many moments where we had I had a hot uh time machine for him, but I was just like, when is this gonna happen? Oh, I knew it was coming in that he got the honorable Yeah, he he got an honorable death with with with it being by Vader, so yeah, for sure. I guess he went out gratefully.
SPEAKER_00And like and like stood his own, but it was really Maul who like fucked him over. Like that was kind of the scenario that the way it played out. Like Maul force pushes him in front of Vader, if you notice, and then and then Maul just skates out of it.
SPEAKER_02I was like, no way, is he about to like play him right now?
SPEAKER_00No, now I did have an issue with this a little bit. So Ahsoka stands her own toe-to-toe with Vader in Star Wars Rebel. She cuts off half of his mask, talks to him as Anakin, so forth. Ezra kinda holds his own against Vader for the little bit that he he faces him. Obi-Wan Kenobi stands his own against Vader. Maul really didn't get that moment of like him by himself with Vader and like take a limb, take a hand, take something. Like I damage Vader to some extent. Like I that was my only gripe about the whole entire episode. Was just that. Was just that we didn't get Maul basically like holding his own for at least a bit against Anakin. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, I didn't see him like knock anything out. I think Master Dockey was the only one who like actually hit him like on that shoulder before you know he passed away.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, somebody slashed him, I think somebody got him in the shoulder and somebody got him around the leg, I think. Or maybe it was the the crow that I'm thinking about that got sliced in the leg. Um but yeah. I I agree with you. Dockey was the one that got the got the um, you know, got the blow on him at least.
SPEAKER_02Right. That's the thing though too, like um they they did the same thing with uh with Devin and she stood on her own against the Inquisitors. So I thought that was really insane.
SPEAKER_00I I would have liked a little bit more of that too, I think, um in that moment. Like I I would have liked to see her, you know, like like we had said originally, I I would have liked to see her kill Maroc in that moment. It but they had her against the crow. You couldn't kill the crow because he dies in Tales of the Jedi. So you you needed to to keep that. And the crow just kind of gets bested and and leaves. But I I do like the moment of when Maul when Maul starts creeping, he watches, you know, he comes around the back part of the cavern and he's watching her against the crow. And he's watching how her anger and her rage starts to build as she's screaming. And props to Gideon Adelon. Um fantastic job is Devin Azara. Like, I really hope you win Best Supporting Actress Award at Emmys this year for this role. Because the voice acting, the passion, the intensity in these moments that she had to be, she nailed it every time. And you got to see some cool backs uh behind the scenes footage of her and Sam Whitware like being in the booth recording with one another, which I think I think really like it Sam insisted at a certain point that they were recording everything together because of how intense these moments were and how they needed to play off each other, and they they definitely did. So it was it was really cool.
SPEAKER_02So, like, and I I love seeing her turn, right? But my only thing is that is she really a Sif though? Because not really, she's really just yeah, because she's just enraged because uh because of Vader and what he did, and and I understand how sometimes like seeing seeing Mole's ways and then um like and he she was agreeing with a lot of the stuff that he was telling her, but like because because of that, does that like really make her a part of the dark side?
SPEAKER_00No, it's it's more so her need for revenge at this point. They they both are gonna share the common ground of revenge, and now he wants revenge on Sidious, and she's gonna want revenge on Vader, and that's where we're going with this. Now they're gonna have Crimson Dawn at their back. We we we now know that pretty much Spy Bot too. Rest in peace, Spy Bot, man. You didn't deserve it. I wanted I wanted to see you live and and continue on, but then he he he got cut in half, he screams, master, and then falls into the acid and just.
SPEAKER_02Out of anybody, all his other Mandalorians were knocked out, and when he seen him, he said, he went, he went in more.
SPEAKER_00And see, now this makes so much sense as to why the Darksaber is just on Dathomir in Maul's cave. Like he has no use for it at this point anymore, because of the fact that there's really no Mandalorians that are following him anymore. Like he he lost his his general and pretty much all of her, you know, her troops at this point, and now he's gonna go with Dryden Voss and Crimson Dawn, and he's gonna become the head of Crimson Dawn Syndicate. Dryden Voss is gonna be the the figurehead working for him, and you know, you can very easily see where this is going for episode for season two. We're probably gonna watch that whole scenario through solo, but I'm I'm so interested to find out what happens with Devin in this process. Does does him and Devin go face Palpatine Invader at some point and Devin dies, or does Devin end up leaving or they get split or whatever, and then he goes to Kira as as his next option? Because like we already know that's that's the only unfortunate thing about this show is we do already know like the events of the timeline and where this goes. So at some point he's gonna recruit Kira, he's gonna train Kira to be his apprentice and to be his failsafe in case something happens to him. Eventually, he's gonna find out about the weapon in the temple on Malachor, which he does in Rebels, and get there. That's that's really where I could see her him and Devin splitting, because like if he fails going against Sidious or she fails at going against Vader, the next step would be finding this ultimate weapon, is which they find on Malachor. So I I could very easily see a scenario of like Devon's the reason why he stranded on Malachor in the Rebels episode, and then somehow, somehow, Yoda is involved in all this too, because Yoda's the one who tells Ezra basically to go to Malachor, and he does it begrudgingly, like he knows Maul's on Malachor and Maul's there, and he's like, Alright, Malachor, you'll find like what you're looking for. And then when he gets there, Maul's just happy to find Ezra because he knows he needs two people to open the temple, and then he uses Ezra to open the temple, and you know, the everything that takes place takes place at that point. So at some point, we're gonna see Crimson Dawn like basically not go away because Crimson Dawn does go all the way through according to the comics. Now we're talking about um they go all the way through until Return of the Jedi, pretty much. Is that Crimson Dawn is still a thing uh up until between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi? And Kira enacts her plan during that point when when Han is captured, and then Kira is shown still alive at the end of uh uh Return of the Jedi in the comics. She's sho s shown sitting at the bar watching the Death Star blow up for the second time. So she's she's still a player that's involved in all this, you know what I mean? Right. Um and I'm wondering if we're gonna see her. I'm wondering if Amelia Clark is gonna come back to play her, if we're gonna we're gonna see that play out, you know.
SPEAKER_02At least voice do the voice acting. Yeah, at least do the voice act. Um, what was the planet they were on where they were facing Vader?
SPEAKER_00Were they in this episode? Yeah. Uh Janic still. They were still on Janix.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that was Janics, okay.
SPEAKER_00No, they they never leave.
SPEAKER_02It turned like yeah, it turned like all like jungly and stuff. So I was like, this is a part of Janics though.
SPEAKER_00Basically, they worked their way outside of the city, and then that's that's basically was the whole entire plan was the Crow and Maroc were trying to draw them out of the city, and they did. Um basically, you know, Maroc Maroc calls in and he's like, They're on, they're on their way to you. And as soon as he said it, I knew we were getting baited. As soon as he said it. I was just like, here we go.
SPEAKER_02So when when they were so throughout the whole episode, there were some really amazing fight scenes, right? Uh incredible. The the one the one scene when Devin is um in like that little hallway or whatever, and she's fighting, I think, the crow, whatever, and she's trying to get away from him, and that's when Ma he's just like sneaking around or whatever. And out of nowhere, she turns the corner and he just comes out like slashing the fuck out of them. And she's like on the floor, like almost about to die. Yeah before uh he hands her his lightsaber, and she's like kind of like that.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's the moment that's the moment I was working and talking about, like him creeping and watching, and that moment of her her rage. And you you saw it as soon as as soon as Dockey died, she she lost it. She really just kind of caved in and gave in. And then Maul took it, Maul took advantage of the opportunity in that moment. Oh my god, she lost her saber just holds it up to her and she looks at him and and just force grabs it, and then you watch her flip up, she starts going crazy with the saber and fighting the crow, and then that's when she she wounds the crow, and the crow's like, I'm getting the fuck out of here before I get killed. And and like so I'm surprised Vader didn't kill the crow in that moment. Like, I that's kind of you know what I mean, for just leaving. Like, he had the opportunity to keep fighting her and take her out or do whatever, and yeah, that was that was it.
SPEAKER_02So that this episode was insane. Oh, also before we go, one of my the most important parts for me of this episode, wrestling peace to the homie Lawson, man, and Riley now having to deal with the no dad anymore.
SPEAKER_00Like, and and I knew it was coming in that moment too, where he was just like sucking at the gun, and he's just like, I gotta make the decision here, what am I gonna do? And then you know you saw it coming of like, oh shit, he's gonna do it. And then the gun just gives out, and it was almost like a remote.
SPEAKER_02That was the last thing I would have thought was gonna happen. I thought he was gonna have an epic ass moment with that gun.
SPEAKER_00It was almost like a Paz Visla moment from Mandalorian, because like Paz, it's the same thing. Paz goes out with the big Gatling gun and his overheats and stops working. But for Lawson, like Lawson knew that the gun, you know, was only gonna be temporary. And then like he gets he takes a couple blasts and then he pulls out his gun and starts still blasting. And like, yeah, now what happens to Riley and Two Boots? He he commissioned two boots with with bringing Riley to his mother. His mother is as we know works for the Empire and now is gonna be on high alert. Like, Riley's a wanted fugitive at this point. So that's that's what I'm saying about next season. I could very easily see a scenario of like where two boots and Riley are involved in whatever's going on with Devin and Crimson Dawn, and maybe maybe Riley is the reason that like I could see their relationship growing closer together, and eventually maybe that that being a point of why Devin, you know, because like for some, we're gonna have to get somewhere where Devin is not with Maul. Like, whether that comes when they go to Malachor or it's before that, you know what I mean? Like, we're we're gonna have to get to that point because it's what we that's the unfortunate thing, is like we already know what is gonna happen at some point.
SPEAKER_02And my other thing is like, how how how do they not know where they are when they have two boots on them? Because you know, he reports to the program, and that was funny when he was like, We should report Yeah, we should report to and then he's like, wait, no, no, maybe, maybe I'm a I'm gonna wanna fugitive. All four of them looked at them like, I dare you to freaking report this time. Yeah, but yeah, like how do they not have him tracked?
SPEAKER_00I I don't I don't know. I I really don't. I I I really don't. I just um I I I love these two episodes. I I I wish we would have got a little bit more at the ending. Um, because it did feel kind of like a little bit abrupt. Like I love yeah, I I do I do love that they're playing up the leg and that the leg again became another issue with Maul, and you're seeing him now with the limp. Because again, as we get to Rebels, he's got a cane as his light, like, and he's walking with a cane and a limp, and like that's kind of part of his aesthetic at that point. Um he is gonna encounter another, like, so he gave Devin his original piece of his lightsaber. That's the original piece that he had from uh Phantom Menace. So that is that is the original half that Obi-Wan cut in half, and like that he's built back together now to this saber. So Devin has that saber. We know in Rebels Maul has a totally new saber that's made out of an Inquisitor saber. So he's gonna kill an Inquisitor at some point probably next season. I I just don't know which one it's gonna be because so far a lot of the Inquisitor deaths are kind of mapped out and we know like when they take place. So it just might be a new Inquisitor that they include in in season two or whatever the case may be, maybe they make some changes and like you know, have it be somebody somebody, you know, change somebody's canon essentially. But um yeah, I I'm just I'm very interested to see how like all of these pieces start to gel together and how we get to to that point eventually. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's it's gonna be amazing. Um just wanna say like overall with the show, like this this the the way they sho they showcased uh Maul's um different styles of fighting, I thought was really amazing because uh growing up I always thought he was just you know what the with the staff saber or whatever. And then seeing him in this show, like taking it apart, using it dual saber, then using like we talked about before with like the dooku style. Like I think they added so much more talent to what he can really do as far as his fighting style is and uh how his ways when it comes to like Sith Lore and just just the saber technique in general.
SPEAKER_00And and there was two interesting things. So, like I know we had talked about it a couple weeks ago, like when we saw him doing that, like so. After he gets his legs legs fixed again, he has that training scene where he's like it's just him and the saber. Somebody put like an Instagram reel up and it shows like the breakdown. It is all seven forms of saber combat that he does in that little training set. It looked like it he literally switches from one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and then the last one he does the the flip and catches it behind his back, and like that's so I was like, that is so cool because he does at one point he puts his hand behind his back and it's the Dooku style, and then you know, like the the Anakin style of the the forcefulness, and so like it's yeah, I thought that was really cool. And there's also a really, really cool Easter egg for fans of the Force Unleashed when Maul splits his lightsaber uh into two pieces and starts fighting at that point. He takes a pose and takes the stance of Sam Whitwer from Force Unleashed. I thought so with the two sabers, two sabres underhanded backwards, and he's looking back at the camera. That's exactly what I thought about. That's it. That was really cool that they did that and included that in the show. I thought that was so much fun um to have that be, you know, in there like that. That sounds really cool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Star Trek, the almost OP fucking Star Wars character ever.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. So um I I love that. I thought that was great. Um I I just I love this show so much. I'm gonna go back and watch the other two episodes. I just didn't get a chance to to re-watch them again for a second time. I watched them bright and early though this morning before I left. Um, and as we talked about off-screen, I I had a really good day to start and then it kind of went downhill. But um I um I I really I really love this show so much, and um, I'm just I'm happy that we got it. I'm happy that we're getting another season of it. Hopefully, there's you know, from what you and me have heard already that there's plans for three seasons, that's kind of the the the gist of the show. But um I wouldn't be opposed to seeing them drag this out even more if if they wanted to. You know what I mean? It wouldn't be a bad thing.
SPEAKER_02For me at all? Not at all. Say because do as many seasons, whatever you want. You guys, you guys, my you guys got my wallet.
SPEAKER_00And um, like like I said, Sam, uh, Gideon, the the whole casting crew, David W. Collins on mixing, all of them, all their hard work, all their efforts, they deserve to be applauded for this show. Um, it was by far one of the best Star Wars things that's ever been done so far, and I'm hoping we can keep this momentum rolling into season two, because I I'm I'm really I and I also hope that we don't have to wait like multiple years before we get season two. I I hope that they're already working on this show and that it's you know they're gonna plan to at least a year to to have season two.
SPEAKER_02Do you think we can get uh not necessarily a Clone Wars TV show, but uh another animated Lucasfil show that is not a mall pop mall mall based, but just Star Wars based in this style again?
SPEAKER_00Um, so I I do think there's plans for another Tails season that's gonna be coming. I I don't know if it's gonna be this year or if it's gonna be next year. Um Star Wars celebration is at the beginning of of next year, so I could very easily see them like holding off uh tails until then, because we do still have Ahsoka and we have the Mandalorian movie for this year, so I could very easily see a scenario where you know they're they're gonna hold the tails stuff and then whatever it's gonna be. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a mall tales, like uh at least three episode, like little short arc, if you want to jump around and and touch on some of the things that you highlighted in the show. Also, something interesting Sam Whitworth said, which made me like go back, rewatch the episode. Um, so remember last week we were talking about like all the things Maul was seeing in the cave and and those visions. So the origin the original canon was that Savage and Maul never knew each other, that like they they didn't know about each other because Maul was taken as a as a child, like an infant. Um that that was the original canon. I was just under the impression that they had changed things around, you know, with this show. But Sam made the interesting point of not everything you see is true in that in that scene. So it made me think of Maul as Joker. Um there's a famous Joker quote where Joker says, Um, you know, sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes I remember it another. Uh, what's the point of having a past if it can't be multiple choice? And basically how you remember it and and though how you associate with it is how you project it. Um, and and that's kind of Joker's philosophy of um, you know, and Heath Ledger plays on that in Dark Knight with the you want to know how I got these scars, and he tells three different stories on how he got the scars. It's it's it's whatever they want to believe. And so Sam almost hinted at the fact that like Maul's Maul's righteousness in that moment about saving, you know, his younger self and and seeing these visions of Savage, that it's not necessarily true. It's just the way Maul is is putting it in his head. Like, these this is the relationship I could have had with my brother. This is the things that could have done had I not gone with Sidious, but it's it's he's so deranged with his hate and his anger that now it's become his actual story in his head. Like that's how he envisions it almost. So I thought that was a really, really like interesting way of framing it and and you know, having that comparison to Joker in that sense. I thought it was something something different.
SPEAKER_02And almost kind of like how um how like Moon Knight's uh like brain works, where he, you know, he has the Mr. Mr. The Mr. Negative. I'm I'm saying Yeah, Mr. Knight, yeah. Mr. Knight, and then there's Moonlight. And like, you know, they like kind of like take over whenever his personality is changed or whatever, but you know, he could be doing one thing and then it'd be true in the other one, could be with true with the other person. So it's however you you saw it in that situation. So yeah, it's very, very, very similar.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I just I thought that was a really great, you know, framing on the show. Um right, it was. I I I really like I said, I can't say enough good things about this show. I could sit here for hours and and just talk about this show, but another show we have to talk about is Daredevil. Um so we got another episode. We did. How did you how did you feel about this episode? Let's you let you start positive with this and and then uh we'll go into how I felt watching this episode.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say, I'm gonna I'm gonna say this. I think last episode we spoke a little too loud because and then they came back on us at this one?
SPEAKER_00That's what you're saying.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and then they yeah, and then they came and was like, oh, you enjoy that? You're not gonna like this show now anymore. So let me just take what you like for that way you can still just continue to shit on us. So I was like, okay. That's what they did. So what I'm talking about, ladies and gentlemen, we have the the the the the fucking initiate initiation of Buck dying, or Daniel dying, sorry.
SPEAKER_00Daniel.
SPEAKER_02Um for why Buck had to do this, I really don't understand till this day, but it was it it is what it is. Um just before we go before I dive deeper into that, uh overall episode though, I mean, if if there was anything in this episode that added added any type of risk or like aha moment, that was probably the most thing that did it. Oh, yeah, for sure. For sure. But because because other than that, this episode was already looking like the last episode. Um but besides that too, my other favorite part of this episode was when um Karen and Daredevil's ex, the lawyer, they get into that tit for tat in the court in the little courtroom or whatever, in the in the jail cell. I thought that was really nice, and that was that was spicy. Um to see her get slapped like that, I was like, oh wow.
SPEAKER_00I'm waiting for her to like go over the edge and like put the mask on at this point. Like, go go go be muse and go go get it over with. Because like she's she's already gone that way in the show, as as you know, we've been going through the show, like she's slowly turning into that type of person, and it's just like, oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02And it's and it's we see where it's going to be in that scene. And no, and then in that scene, it was it was a little it was a little scary because whenever they do show like she's getting like hints of of of muse, or she's getting traumatized of muse, he he's always in the frame in a creepy way, like on the corner of the screen, or like on the on like through a rearview mirror or something. And in that scene, you see him there, like as if he's on the other side of the interrogation room window. And I was like, Dang, this is a little creepy right now. Like, I'm a little scared myself. You know what I mean? I'm not the movie, I'm not the scary movie guy, so like little things like that could get to me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, um so I I I love the Daniel Buck stuff, obviously. Um I didn't understand why Daniel was initially going through with it at first, like him setting up BB and and doing the whole like hey, we're gonna go to a safe house thing. And then like I knew it once he texts Buck, and then Buck was like, Oh, it seems like he's you know he's pulling his weight. I was like, Oh shit, like here we go. Like he's he's yeah, setting up to die. Because I I knew he wasn't gonna be able to turn her in. Like he he loved her, he he cared about her.
SPEAKER_02And you know, like I just but it's now it's just gonna be an an ever it's gonna be like a domino effect because he's gonna come to the city. Now everyone's now yeah, and then he's gonna kill his mom and everybody else.
SPEAKER_00No, I don't even I don't even think it's gonna be that. Like, I I think I don't know if Buck's gonna get past this. Um during that moment, like Daniel fucking told him, like, you know, I I dare you to pull the trigger, like just go and go ahead and fucking do it. And Buck didn't want to, like, you saw the hesitation because Buck actually like really grew to like the kid. And if you watch the the little recap that they did at the beginning of the episode, like you see that moment of like Buck telling, you know, that that he he did actually like start to become fond of Daniel and like actually liked him. So I just again 10 minutes of Daredevil in this whole episode, right?
SPEAKER_02Like, but how did you feel about I mean not at all Bullseye killing about the yeah, killing the lady the of um like the other mayor, I think that was from like Albany or something like that.
SPEAKER_00Well, whoever it was it was somebody trying to kill the the governor of the state, basically. Uh somebody was in in there trying to kill her. And and Matt basically told him, like, this is what I need you to go do. I need you to protect her because I know this is what they're gonna go do. And Bullseye basically said, like, he, you know, Matt told him, I don't forgive you for foggy, like I'm never gonna forgive you for foggy. But at this point, like the enemy of the enemy is my friend, and you know, either you help or you don't. And Bullseye straight up told him, like, I can't make any promises on this whatsoever, but I'm gonna try. And that's what he did. And you know, so it it's unfortunate because I I I'm happy that Bullseye did what he did. Um, I'm I'm I'm happy that that this is how we're framing him going forward, uh, as more of like an anti-hero to Matt. I'm I'm assuming when this all comes to a head against the vigilante task force, Bullseye's gonna be involved in all this and and like take a role in helping Matt. Um, I I don't see it going any other way. Maybe there's a scenario like where he dips out and saves himself at one point, but you know, I I just I I I think there'll be something along those lines, obviously.
SPEAKER_02Right, right. Um, we also in this episode get the reveal of um the detective from the Netflix series that used to help them out back in the days.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and and they didn't they didn't like do a good job of like making her remember who he was. It was just like oh I was like, oh, he looks familiar. I was like, oh yeah, that's Karen's friend. Like and then and then yeah, he comes into the frame and like gets her out to go talk to Matt. And so like we found out that he got promoted and he's in charge of the precinct now. And so he was able to to get her out to to talk to Matt. That's pretty much what it was.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yep. Um, other than that, I mean, we got that Jessica Jones part again where she I think she was talking to um what's his name?
SPEAKER_00Uh I know you uh Matt Lillard's character. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Well, when she tells him about this stuff and basically saying, like, you know, where where's Luke? And he's like, Oh, he's over he's overseas doing it.
SPEAKER_00So so that was that was an important tidbit is basically you you came to find out that all of them were working for Val. And basically Luke Luke, as a way to protect Jess and to protect his daughter, Luke ended up being the one to take the job and go do the mission. So he left Harlem and he's running whatever missions he's running for Val, you know, behind closed doors, and and I guess to try to protect his wife and try to protect his daughter, but you know, that and I I'm assuming maybe Iron Fist is with him, so we'll probably see Danny like be involved in that too. I I would assume, but I I don't know. I I thought that was an interesting tidbit. Um, him knowing about like her powers not really working and and her having issues with them was was interesting. Um I just I didn't know, you know, the the context there was a little little vague as to like how they actually, you know, or what the relationship was.
SPEAKER_02How they actually met, yeah. Yeah, you're right. Um, but yeah, I mean, another episode of Daredevil. I think tomorrow is our last episode. Is it the last episode already? I I I believe so, because we should because based off of if this was the last episode of Maul, and that was the one before that. This might be the last one that we might get the Punisher one shot right after that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because we only got uh March is uh May is a short month, isn't it? Um so yeah, we got the No I I want to say Daredevil. I want to say we got a couple more weeks at Daredevil, at least maybe two episodes. Cause it goes what's this what's look up the release date for Spider-Man because then that'll tell us. Because it it it basically goes Daredevil, Daredevil, Punisher one shot, Spider-Man, if if I'm correct. I I'm pretty sure.
SPEAKER_02Spider-Man brand new day comes out July 31st. Um Spider uh the so for your Daredevil. Daredevil born again What was the release date on Spider-Man?
SPEAKER_00July 31st. Oh, July. Oh okay. So yeah, maybe we do have a lot more of Daredevil.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean it only s it's only showing episode eight, which is tomorrow's. Um oh here we go. Um season two oh eight, yeah. Eight episodes? I believe so, yeah. Well, the last season had nine, so if anything, there might be one more, but I feel like that nine is the is the Daredevil, I mean the the the Punisher one shot.
SPEAKER_00But I I feel like based off the schedule we saw originally, like it was supposed to be Daredevil all the way through, and then the Punisher one shot, and then the Spider-Man movie the following week. I thought I thought that was the way it was listed, but maybe I'm wrong. Um so that'll be interesting. I I'm looking forward to Spider-Man. Um, we got some Spider-Man news that we're gonna get into a little bit later. Um, but I'm looking forward to it. We'll we'll see what happens with the Punisher one shot and how this Daredevil season wraps up. Um, because I'm still in the camp of the writing for me this season is really like holding me back on like really enjoying this season. Um and the fact that like we're not seeing Matt a lot. Like Matt is literally in each episode for like 10 minutes.
SPEAKER_02And you know what? The since we had that conversation last week um on the pod, I talked to some other people about it too, and they were like, Well, at least I know I'm not the only one who's like this. And I was like, Wow. I've heard other people I thought we were the only thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, I've heard I've heard a lot of people that like so I've heard some people that like just are in love with this show and just like gush about it all the time. And then I've heard other people that feel the way you and me feel, where like it's it's okay, like we watch it, we're watching it week to week, but it's it's not necessarily the show that like we're like clamoring about like we are with Maul. Like when Maul comes on, we're both like, oh my god, this is fucking epic. And then you know, with Daredevil, we're just kind of like okay, yeah, with another episode.
SPEAKER_02It's so they're two different mediums, though. That's the thing, and like I don't know, the the emotional integrity between Maul and freaking Daredevil are not the same uh whatsoever. So that's why this week is gonna be a little bit sad because we might have more Daredevil and then come around the next week and we don't have a mall on one day anymore.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm gonna be I'm gonna be missing Maul. Um I I need season two like immediately of Maul. Um, but yeah, I will be missing that show tremendously. Thanks. Uh, we also got our look a couple weeks ago. It's during the Cinemacon stuff. We talked about the Resident Evil Zach Zack Kregger movie. We got an official trailer released for this movie now. Um, what were your thoughts seeing this trailer? Did it did it do anything for you? It it did something for me. Uh I'll tell you that.
SPEAKER_02So I like I like the the theme of the movie. Just my only problem is that like it just feels like virtually like a zombie movie that they just threw the Resident Evil sign on uh the Resident Evil titles on that's essentially what it is. Yeah, because I don't see anything that has to do with I mean it's granted, I'm not uh it's cool that you have uh a character that has nothing to do with the giving video games, but I was still expecting to see like uh like Nemesis or like something, you know, some of the familiar zombies that we fight in the game. I still think we will or like the doll, the dog the zombie dogs, like I didn't see anything like that.
SPEAKER_00I I so like um from what I gather from Zach Krager's interview, um this is basically just him taking the IP of Resident Evil and making his own movie with it. Um so so it it isn't connected to anything else Resident Evil that we've seen before. It's not connected to the video games, it's its own standalone thing. And I'm wondering if it's gonna be connected to to weapons because the the guy who is in the main role was in weapons, he played the junkie. Um so I'm I'm wondering like if this is all gonna be part of the weapons barbarian universe, and it's just Resident Evil with that junky same junkie character from weapons now, like in this that would be the most mindfuck universe of of all time. Well, like so far, like barbarian and weapons are connected. You see Justin Long, and yeah, like you know, there's a lot of little things. There's even a cool shot that I saw somebody do where like there's the shot of the front door, and you get the the house from barbarian, the house from weapons, and then you have the house here with the the zombies like arms crawling out of the the the doors, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm I'm interested to see like if that's essentially what this is, and this is just gonna be that same character from weapons in a diff, you know, in this survival movie of like him stumbling upon this zombie town, and now you know he's he's trying to deal with all this. I'm not sure. Like it it it's very possible knowing that like he's gonna be.
SPEAKER_02It's very possible knowing the director and how yeah, he likes to connect things like that. But it but it is essentially him just taking the IP. Yeah, yeah, like it's not your it's not an original thing. So why are you why would you why are you mixing that? What this is not I know it's not final and it's not of official, but just saying, like, if he does that, like that's gonna be so weird to me, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm assuming though, like it's it's more so like I said, just like an open IP thing. Like, hey, I'm gonna collab with you, we're gonna call it Resident Evil, I'll throw in some of the stuff. And and from what it looks like, he studied a lot of the gameplay and like the one-on-one scenario of like one person against this army of of evil shit. And that's very much the premise of this movie. Like, that's kind of what he's rolling with. So I don't know. Again, I I I would wouldn't be surprised to see this be like the exact same junkie character, just maybe he's clean, maybe things have changed since weapons, and you know, he just kind of stumbles upon this this other town, then he ends up in in this. Like it I'm here for it if that's the case. Um, I like the Zack Krager movies. Um, so I'll definitely be checking this out. I just I don't know if it'll be a movie theater one. I might be something like I just wait for streaming and watch it when it comes out.
SPEAKER_02No, I'm gonna watch another trailer whenever the another official trailer comes out, and then after that, I'm still probably gonna see the movie because it's Resident Evil and I'm just a diehard. But uh I'm just I just wanted to see I want to see more references. This is the only thing. Like the movie looks good. I I like the way it looks visually and all that. I just I want to see more references. Like uh I I think the only reference that I can maybe tip my tip on is um there's a scene in in the one part where you see like this really like it looks like a like like the really fat zombie that's from Red East.
SPEAKER_00It looks like uh the Harkinin from Doom. It looks like like um like uh what's his name's character?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. But there's a part of zombie like that in Resident Evil in Resident Evil 7, I think that is.
SPEAKER_00He apparently spent a lot of time at their studio and like ran through the games, did a whole bunch of playthroughs, did all this kinds of stuff. So, like I'm I'm not gonna be surprised to see the dogs. I'm not gonna be surprised if we see like other things from Resident Evil incorporated in this. I just know for a fact, like, this has no tie into like the video games or anything else. This is like a standalone movie with him using the Resident Evil name as as IP, essentially. So it it could be could be very successful, it it might not be. I guess we'll we'll wait and see. So far, his movies like I don't I know weapons did well at the the box office. Um I don't think Barbarian did, but Barbarian like did well on streaming where people were watching that a lot. Like that was in the top movies a lot of times. So um I I wouldn't wouldn't be surprised to see this like become another cold classic like that, just because his his name seems to garner, you know, the interest. Right. Um So this week on the boys was a phenomenal episode. Um I I need you to go get caught up on this show, please, because this was so much fun. Um so if you really get if you're a supernatural Yeah, if you're if you're a supernatural fan like I was, Eric Kripke, who's the show showrunner for the boys, was the showrunner for Supernatural. That was his show. Um and he found a way to incorporate, you know, Jensen Eccles being soldier boy in this season, being a main character. He found a way to get Jared Patalecki, who plays uh, you know, his brother on the show, and Misha Collins, who plays Castiel on the show, to basically be involved in this season. Um Jared Patalecki played Mr. Marathon, who was basically like A-Train. A Train replaced him on the seven. Uh A-Train beat him in a race, and and you know, we saw that happen in one of the other seasons of the show. We just never saw who Mr. Miracle or Mr. Marathon was, but now we find out it's Patalecki. And then um Castille, uh Misha Collins played uh this guy who had like uh like breath that could knock somebody out or whatever. But the the funny part, the funny part was so Mr. Marathon, since he's no longer part of the seven, and he's basically just like a rich still superhero celebrity, he's a drug dealer. So he's he's the fat like he can run to Mexico, go grab whatever and come back. And so like that was a funny bit. Uh him and Soldier Boy like blow lines together and like fucking, you know, he's like, Oh, I just ran up, ran I ran to uh Columbia and got this specifically for you because I I knew you would like it. He's like, You deserve the good stuff, and so that scene was really cool. Seeing just the two of them like blowing lines of coke and like being so fucking opposite from supernatural. Um, that was just hilarious. And then like Misha Collins being involved in the scene too. There's a like a really cool shot of all three of them like together in the scene. Um but the the funniest part was that they basically had Jared's character since he wasn't part of the seven anymore, he was still like a famous celebrity superhero, but he worked for the Sony universe. So there's so like he talks about like, oh, I'm a movie star, and then Homelander's like, yeah, for the bootleg company. And and he's like, hey man, he's like, hey man, I know we're not part of the VCU and we can't mention it, and this, that, and so like basically acknowledging the Sony universe, and then he says, he says, Yeah, I'm part of the Sony universe. And like you see all the posters, and they're spoofs of all of the Craven movie, and there's a spoof of Madame Webb, and there's a spoof of Venom, and you know, all of the so that shit was fucking hilarious. It had me rolling. Um, I could not stop laughing when I when I was seeing this, and just the whole interaction with them, and they basically try to fuck like they fuck around and try to take down Homelander like while Soldier Boy's there, and Soldier Boy is Homelander's father. So like the whole episode revolves around that, and then you have Seth Rogan and um uh Craig Robinson and Michael Sarah and a whole bunch of like characters like from those like that group of people, and they're all like playing a poker game at Mr. Marathon's house, and like it was just fucking chaos ensues. It was fucking crazy, it was a crazy ass episode, but I just loved it. I love it.
SPEAKER_02Seth Milgan is like in every superhero thing now.
SPEAKER_00Well, like he's he's an executive producer on a lot of the stuff. Um, so like Preacher, he was an executive producer. Him and Evan Goldberg and their production too. Well, yeah, and and him and Evan Goldberg, like their company is is producing a lot of different superhero stuff that's like more indie stuff. So uh he's really involved, yeah, yeah. Still doing the turtles. They're they're coming back for a second one. So yeah, it's um it was a fantastic episode. I just I love getting to see that. Um, but you definitely got to get caught up on the boys. And they they did announce uh some more stuff. I know we talked about Gen V getting canceled. Um they they did say that like there is gonna be some payoff with that. So I'm not sure if we're gonna see Marie in in this season at all or what, but um, she was billed up, you know, from Gen V as being like the counter to Homelander and being like the one suit that could actually take him out. So um really cool. You're getting to see how this all plays out and and kind of seeing everybody's angles. Um, and spoiler alert for you, uh Firecracker ends up going in this episode, and the way she goes out was fucking brutal um with Homelander. So it was it was it was really, really intense and uh just another fantastic week. Um we found out about the Odyssey. Uh Christopher Nolan did speak uh in an interview and basically said the runtime for the Odyssey is gonna be under three hours. He said so far, all uh IMAX, the the longest IMAX that has ever been done was Oppenheimer, and that was just three hours. So apparently there is a limitation to the IMAX and how much you can cut together like for one projection, like where they wouldn't have to switch it over into something different. Um so Christopher Nolan did say that the Odyssey will be under that three-hour mark just because of the IMAX specifications. So I don't know what that entails for like the overall movie or you know how things are gonna go from there, but um I'm still very much looking forward to the to seeing the Odyssey. Like that just looks phenomenal.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, however, which way we gotta do it, I'll be there on day one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it just um so I I'm I I I have it being one of the top movies of the year. I don't think I'm gonna be disappointed about that, but we shall see.
SPEAKER_02I mean, other than Doomsday and Dune, I mean, what else do we have to be out there? I I think this Odyssey Toy Story.
SPEAKER_00I know Toy Story, like Toy Story Five, and and I have Toy Stories 5 is gonna be better than the I didn't put it on the list, but the reviews for Toy Story 5 have been phenomenal so far. Everybody who saw the early screenings of Toy Story 5 say it's it's fantastic, top to bottom. So I I have that being the like I have that beating out everything else this year. I I have if Toy Story 5 is a good movie, I can guarantee it it it beats out pretty much all these other movies box office number wise, at least. Well that's what I mean. And and you're gonna you know it it's Toy Story spans so many generations, so like you have you know people younger than us that grew up with a Toy Story, people older than us that grew up with a Toy Story, like it's it spans so many generations that I feel like you're reaching a totally different type of audience with that movie as opposed to like a straight up superhero movie or or MCU, you know, like so we'll we'll see what happens. Uh Spider-Man did have some screenings as well, and the reviews for Spider-Man brand new day were were the same. Uh a lot of a lot of great reviews from everybody who saw the screenings. So, like we were saying earlier, I'm very excited to see this movie and see you know what what takes place in it.
SPEAKER_02The they also I don't know if we talked about this last spot, but I mean you sent it to me, but you know, the the leaks of the the Incredible Hulk uh action figure came out. Yeah, yeah. So I mean, and then I seen another one from uh the another toy company. Um trying to think of their name, some S. Um they usually do a lot of anime stuff too. And I know they got a story in 42nd Street. Um I can't think of their name right now. But, anyways, it's another toy company, and they released it on their actual Instagram page. Um, and you know, seeing that tells me that okay, we got the screening, good reviews, we're getting this, so we might get another trailer, and possibly in that trailer we'll get the reveal for the Hulk. So when that happens, he'll not watch that trailer.
SPEAKER_00He looks brutal in the action figure form. Like, I don't know what they did to him, but he almost looks more like Frankenstein than he looks like Hulk. So I'm hoping I'm hoping it's it's different like when we see him on screen, but like he looked brutal on that action figure that they they released from Hasbro. Um I looked at that and I immediately like screenshot it and sent it to you because I was just like, yo, what did they do to your boy? Like they massacred your boy. Like, so I I don't know. I I'm interested to see, you know, if if that's gonna be the design or if they, you know, just making the figure kind of kind of made him look that way.
SPEAKER_02I'm just happy to see that we have a original Hulk. Like, it's not no Mr. Scientist's Hulk, no Mr. Uh, you know, talking Hulk, the but as a big thing. As far as we know.
SPEAKER_00Like as far as we know.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, from what they're showing here and the way that they're posing him, and he has his clothes ripped, like it's like it's you know, the Hulk number one.
SPEAKER_00It's banner turning into the Hulk again. Yeah, yeah. It's not it's not smart Hulk that scene can't do nothing.
SPEAKER_02Yes, so it seems like we're getting uh a real Hulk again. So I'm hoping, you know, that's that's that's that's the case.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. No, I'm I'm I'm I'm hoping it's a good movie. Like I said, I feel like it's a lot packed into this movie, but if it delivers, it'll it'll deliver. Um otherwise, we'll see. Um Wonder Man, uh, we have confirmation that they had no plans on doing season two. It wasn't something that any of the actors, any of the cast uh was was planning. And uh Yaya has Man on Fire that just dropped on Netflix. I I haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet. It's the remake of the old Denzel Washington movie with uh Alf with uh um Dakota fanning. Um so I have not gotten a chance to watch that yet, but he spoke about it on his press tour and basically said that like yes, they are coming back, but there's no scripts, there's no anything pre-production yet for the for Wonderman season two. So I wouldn't expect it till maybe 2028, maybe after Secret Wars, there's a possibility like this this could be held off until after Secret Wars.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I also seen that he was on the pivot podcast, and he was talking about the time when Marvel asked him about Wonderman, and he was saying that like he wasn't he he he he only had one shot of getting into the into an MCU film or movie, so he always wanted to make sure it was gonna be something big or something good. So when Kevin when Kevin Feige, when Marvel called him, he's like, I need to get the call from Kevin to know if this is real or not. And then Kevin called him and was like, We're gonna do something really big with this, and he wanted to make sure it was something with more longevity and not just a one-shot or something, and Kevin was like, I got you in that sense.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think there I think there was plans to like obviously utilize both both characters going forward, but um the the the season two was what was really unexpected for all of them. Is like they I think they thought like, oh, this'll go to Secret Wars and whatever, and they'll be involved in that, which they still might very well be. Um but now it seems that that you know the the plan is gonna be kind of after or before, maybe, but they they do have some work to do. There's there's no scripts, there's no nothing written for season two yet. So that that's all something that they're gonna have to do.
SPEAKER_02No, they gotta this show was uh a gem hidden in the rough. Like it was it was great.
SPEAKER_00And speaking of Avengers, um to to my dismay, we have confirmation that uh and it doesn't it comes from the most comeback? It it comes from the most random uh thing, too. It was it wasn't it was wasn't Amon Velani who spoiled this, it was Andy Circus. So Andy Circus and Amon Velani are on a press tour right now for for some movie that that she's in that he directed. And Andy Circus on the press tour basically confirmed that Kamala Khan is in Doomsday. Um apparently it's not a big role from from what I heard. It's her, Cassie Lang, and Kate Bishop that like appear in the movie. Um in like one scene, Cassie Lang does have a part of this movie because like she's in the trailer that we saw at Cinemacon. Um but it seems like the other two and and her idea of like building up the team with with you know who she was trying to track down with the champions or whatever they're gonna call it. I don't think they're gonna call it young Avengers, I think it'd be champions at this point. So there is a possibility that we see them in in Secret Wars as well, if that's like what they're trying to set up. But I I'm I'm just like fuck. What do you think?
SPEAKER_02She wasn't gonna come back.
SPEAKER_00I did not want to see her come back.
SPEAKER_02No, they threw her in season one of Daredevil Born Again. Yeah, yeah. They threw her in freaking uh what was it was it in uh Hawkeye or was it in her show where K Bishop showed up and was like It was Hawkeye, yeah, it was Hawkeye at the end, yeah. So yeah, so it was they had her in Hawkeye even that. They're just always bringing her up here and there. Then we talk about all the time how the comics always are throwing her into like the mutant universe. She's gonna be.
SPEAKER_00To me, I don't think Young Avengers or Champions is anything successful. Like I don't understand doing a movie for that. I don't understand even doing a Disney Plus show revolving around that at this point. Um I kind of just feel like you have your hands full with what you have going on now. Move to Secret Wars and let's move on and let's you know reboot the universe or do whatever you're gonna do and go from there. But yeah, I I wasn't crazy about this when I heard.
SPEAKER_02Yo, you know what I was just thinking about? This is this just pondered upon me. As a Jersey guy, why do you hate Uncalamala Khan? I just don't like her. She's from Jersey City. Yeah, she's from Jersey City.
SPEAKER_00Um, I just I don't like her character.
SPEAKER_02Your B side. Like, uh at least she's from Jersey. Like, okay, you're okay.
SPEAKER_00It's it's I I would be fine with her, I think, if they didn't put her force her into X-Men books and make her like the most important character in these X-Men books now, all of a sudden. It's like she's not an X-Men, she never was an X-Men. Like, you could do whatever you want and change her in the MCU and make her a mutant, but like yeah, she didn't need to be in this whole crossover that they did where they inserted her into every big moment of mutant history, and now like Kamala Khan's a staple of the X-Men. Like, mm-mm. I don't need that. Like, let Kamala Khan be successful as Kamala Khan, Miss Marvel, whatever. Her book doesn't sell on her own, so that's why they're trying to like put her in other stuff and try to get her featured more. But for me, it's just like keep her over there. I don't need her in my X-Men stuff. And and and once they started doing like it was cool the one time they did it. Um, I liked her as a supporting character in Spider-Man, like she was a supporting character in the previous Spider-Man run where she's basically working with Peter at Oscorp and as Kamala Khan. And yeah, yeah, yeah. So to me, that was a a much better role for her being involved like with you know the street level heroes and and just being you know involved in what was going on with Norman and and everything else, like that was fine for me. But yeah, once they once they went the whole other direction where they started putting her on all the X-Men books, I was I was done at that point. I was just like, I I don't I don't need this. Okay. Um we also we also got uh uh trailer or shots at least from the adventures of Superman. I've never watched this show. You said you have. Yes, so I've seen it excited for this. I've seen it obviously on HBO. Um I just haven't checked it out because it it does kind of give me that anime vibe to it, and I've just been like, I don't know if I want to dive into this.
SPEAKER_02Um yeah, so we did get the um the the shot for that. Um and it looks like um they're playing on uh like um I don't know I'm not I'm not the biggest Superman dude, but but I know.
SPEAKER_00Cyborg Superman. Yeah, Cyborg Superman and Jessica Jones, uh not Jessica Jones, Jessica Um Cruz, the Green Laner, is gonna be featured in this. Um, okay. I didn't read that, but that's good. There's a backdoor pilot in this season, apparently, that's gonna lead to a Jessica Cruz spin-off show, uh, My Adventures with Green Lantern. That's I guess the plan coming out of this season.
SPEAKER_02Good stuff, even more on the good stuff. Yeah, no, I love the la the last two seasons. They were just like they took a different take on Brainiac that I thought was really interesting, and um it was it was really it was really fun to watch. Um story-wise, um it does play out like an anime in a way, the way the story goes, but but overall it doesn't it doesn't like you know make that its identity, like it still is a superhero Superman show at the at the end of the day. Um and they do play he they do show him becoming super like he's he's been Superman for a little bit, but he's still hiding it, so it's not like you know, so uh sort of uh a ground zero origin story type thing. Um but yeah, this show this show was great. I I'm I was I didn't know if we were gonna get another one because this was pre-gun production going on. Yeah, yeah. This was a pre-gun um production, and plus now with like we like what's going on right now with with Warner Brothers. So this came out, this just showed up on my timeline so randomly, and I was just like, What? Like, okay, let's go. So I I I can't wait. And I think it comes out in June, so that's like right around the corner. So I'm very excited.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and this this wasn't on our rundown, but I did see a photo of Adriana Adonah sharing herself working out in the gym, um, looking looking very Wonder Woman-ish. I I don't know if if she is in fact gonna be playing Wonder Woman, but she she sure looks like she's putting on the muscle and and to to to play the role. Um James Gunn also did say that the Paradise Lost show, his words, not mine, extreme development, whatever that means. Um so I don't know if this is like they're rushing now to to do the Paradise Lost show with Themisera and you know the backstory of Wonder Woman, because that was kind of the plan of like showing uh like the the older Amazons and Diana being a young girl before she comes here. Um so whatever extreme development means, apparently that's where we're at. You know what I mean? So take that for what it's worth. I don't know if that can that confirms that Adriana Arjona is gonna be playing our Wonder Woman, um, but I guess we'll have to wait and see for Amanda tomorrow. Um Comics of the Week, what do you got for this week?
SPEAKER_02So for this week, we got uh issue number 10 of Captain America by Dub Zadarski. Okay, okay. This is getting towards we're gearing up slowly but surely for uh the big R armor getting event that's coming out soon. Um and um right now, you know, he is versing what's his name? Uh I forgot this guy's name. Um Red Uh it's Red Something, but anyways, he's play he's playing as like a fake Doom right now because they're in uh Laveria.
SPEAKER_00Um the origin boxes like play a role in this too, or is that Wolverine?
SPEAKER_02That's in the Wolverine one, yeah. Okay, so um yeah, it's been great. Um we we get we're getting we get a lot of like back and forth with um Nick Fury and um General Ross because he plays the also a really big role in this as well. Um because they both have their own agendas and um yeah it's been really good read. It's uh just the the story has just been progressively getting better and better each time. So uh I definitely recommend it. And then because this was um new comic book day this uh last weekend, um I did pick up the I did pick up both. I got the Spider-Man one and this one, but I really enjoy this one the most, mainly because it is another Gips Gadarski uh run and it's a setup.
SPEAKER_00I got it right here in front of me too, because I there's gonna be one of mine. Um it is the setup for the Armageddon event. This is this is basically giving you all you need to know to go into the event for summertime. So definitely uh if your shop still has copies available, I know a lot of shops sold out of these, but um, some shops might still have some copies available. So if you weren't able to get out to your comic book shop this past uh free comic book day, make sure to pick up this issue because it was very good. Did you like the X-Men one? Um yes and no. Um I'm not excited about that crossover that's coming with Fantastic Four. Um, whatever they're gonna set up, whatever they're gonna do, I'm really not interested in it. Um I'm right by it. I'm liking what's going on in Gail's book still, but I'm starting to have my feel of this era. Um I I'm ready for something more, I'm ready for them to move forward with something more. So yeah, I I uh I wasn't crazy about the the backup story that that was included in there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was I was I was I went right by it, bro.
SPEAKER_00The the other one I got here is the the Energon Universe special from Free Comic Book Day. Um this is setting up a lot. Mask is coming into play now into the Energon universe. It was set up in G.I. Joe. Um, I'm too young for Mask. I don't remember it, but it is something that just got reissued as as uh in the in like toy form. Uh it was apparently like an old toy line that like went with G.I. Joe and stuff like that, and now it's being like re-released. Um now they are officially part of the Enterjone universe. So we're gonna have Transformers, G.I. Joe, Masks, and um uh void rivals or void knights, whatever the other one is. So it it's really shaping up. Uh I'm interested to see how like things are gonna get crazy once this all starts to take off a little bit more. Um and you know, they start really interconnecting because it seems the story that they're setting up now is like the the Transformers and the Joes now are on the same side. Um how do these other factions like play into it? And it seems like Mask is gonna be one of the other factions that are gonna be involved in this hunt for the Anner John.
SPEAKER_02So should be cool. Yeah. Um, did you get anything else?
SPEAKER_00Or that was just that was that was that was it for me for this week. I I couldn't what happened was I put my comics away from this week and I don't remember what actually came out. Um so I I tried to look real quick and was like, yeah, I don't remember like I know I didn't have a lot this week. It was a late week, and there wasn't really anything that like stood out to me where that I was like, oh, I love this issue. I did, I think X-Men was this week, um, Uncanny. And and that continued the story. It got a little weirder. I'm not really sure what's going on, but it it does have to do with Inmate X, and I guess we're gonna eventually gonna finally find out who Inmate X is. Um, and we did see Monet in this issue finally. I've been waiting to see what they're gonna do with her, and like she's supposed to join this team, her and Quicksilver. Um, so it does seem like we're getting closer to that, and and that's really what I want to see is like them be part of of this team because I I love her and Quicksilver as a couple. Uh, she became a huge character in Krikoa, so to see her kind of be shelved for this long in this era is a travesty. Um, yeah, I'm I'm really looking forward to seeing that. Uh, do you have anything that you were watching this week?
SPEAKER_02Um so this week I caught up on a lot of anime.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um, so in that case, right now I'm watching uh let me just put it up right here because I have a list for y'all. Um so we caught up on wait, this is not my list. Witch Hat Ultra. There's actually a new episode that I have to watch. Um but also really good. Um it has a lot, it has a lot to do with witches and magic and stuff like that. Death there and stuff like that, yeah. Um so I've been watching that. Um and then I've also trying to been catching up on uh Chainsaw Man as well as um uh I've started watching another anime called Desmonds of the Shadow Realm. Um my my playbook from Clubhouse bringing on today.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what any of this stuff is. Yeah, yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_02No, I no, I know. I'm just I'm just saying it for the viewers out there who like the anime, just they can they can check in and watch it if they want. Yeah, no, honestly, we know you you we know you don't like the anime.
SPEAKER_00We know I don't I I don't know anything about it. I don't know you know what it entails, anything like that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but uh um but yeah, so I've been catching up on a lot of anime this this weekend. Um okay, so you were biding all that.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, I don't I I don't have anything off the top of my head that I can think of that I that I watched this past week um that was like anything noteworthy or something that we haven't already covered in this show. Um Right, right. So yeah, I Rooster is still going. I'm still loving Rooster. Um I don't know how many episodes that is gonna be, and and I'm still not sure how it's actually gonna like wrap up because Yeah. It's kind of like a sitcom now at this point. Like that's almost what it seems. So like I am interested to see like how they're gonna wrap up this season and like where it's all gonna go because it just kind of seems like it's week after week it just keeps going. So I I don't know. I don't know what the plan is for that, but um I I'm still enjoying that show very much. Thanks. But uh, I guess that will do it for this week and this episode of Talkin' Soups. SPEAKER_02Yeah, so if you're watching this for all my Star Wars people, or you're watching this on Revenge of the Sixth. Yes. So happy Revenge of the Sixth, everybody.
SPEAKER_00And that's what it should be. Everybody says Revenge of the Fifth, and Revenge of the Fifth is cool, but Revenge of the S, you know, uh May May the 6th, May the Sith. It it's a very easy kind of thing. So I agree it should be the sixth. Um, so yeah, happy, happy Sith day to all of you from from me at Ways of the Sith and Day. And uh yeah, thank you guys so much for tuning in. We'll see you next week.
