In this episode of Friday Is My Monday, we’re having a real conversation about the excuses we tell ourselves—and why they have to stop. If you’ve ever felt like you’re behind, stuck, or like it’s “too late” to make a move… this is your wake-up call.
Sometimes growth doesn’t come from motivation—it comes from being called out, getting honest, and deciding you’re done standing in your own way.
We’re talking about ownership, embracing change, and why the people you surround yourself with can either accelerate your life… or keep you exactly where you are.
No fluff. No sugarcoating. Just the truth:
👉 Nobody is coming to save you
👉 Nobody is holding you back
👉 It’s on YOU
And the best part?
It’s NEVER too late to change everything.
Well, hey y'all. Happy rainy Friday, which is going to be my rainy Monday. If you've been here for a while, you know that Friday is my Monday. So this is what we're gonna talk about today. If you've ever told yourself that it's too late, this video is for you. So don't scroll, stick around. This week we went to see Mel Robbins in person. It's been our second time to see her. We also saw her with Tony Robbins the first time. But you come home after seeing her a slightly different person, as you should, okay? If you've never been to one of her events, here's what she does: she gives you a notebook and some pen and a pen, and she does not let you off the hook. She literally, she's not gonna whisper like sweet little affirmations in your ear. She's gonna call you out on your BS slightly more lovingly than I would, but firmly. And she will say that you've been avoiding hearing from yourself, like say, like say the things that you've been avoiding hearing from yourself for like 10 years. And the wild part is that you leave grateful. I know, right? The other thing about the night was that I ran into some people that I haven't seen in forever. And some people I see all the time, some were colleagues, but we are all in the same room. We all ended up in the same place because it was all something we all needed to hear. That was not an accident. That's the universe doing a group text saying it's time for change. So the next day I was talking to one of those friends and she said something that resonated with me. She said, it was so clear after listening to Mel Robbins that it is never, ever too late to do something amazing or different in your life. Okay. And what I mean by that is it doesn't have to be monetary, it doesn't have to be a job. Age is not a barrier. Age is a rite of passage. Nobody can stop you. And you have total control of what you put into it. And you have nobody to blame but yourself at the same time. You literally have a hundred percent of that control. Not your age, not the year you were born, not what you've already done or haven't done, not the thing that you started and didn't finish, not the dream that you put on the shelf because life got loud. It's not too late for any of it. So I remember when we were making some career changes and Mike was getting responses back from some different places, and they were like, Oh, I'm so sorry, sir, but you're way overqualified. And he kind of took that as, am I too old for this job? Um, I really am, too, you know, overqualified, but I want to work here and I want to do my best for you. Um, but the employer had different views when they were looking at his credentials. So we went on another journey and decided to start our own business instead, actually, a couple of them, which turned out all right. But what you learn is that he wasn't necessarily overqualified. It meant that the world was protecting him from getting stuck in a place that he didn't really fit in. And it probably wouldn't have fulfilled him. Um and another reason this kind of hit us so hard is because we're about to make some major changes with our team because real estate is constantly moving. Big ones, like big changes. And you'll hear more on that soon. So just stay tuned for that. But we're walking into it with let them. Let them say what they will, do what they will, because change is good, and we are going in there with all that good energy. Um, because partnering with the right people in your life, whether it's friends, co-workers, families, companies, it matters. Y'all, real estate is change. Every single client we work with is in the middle of a chapter change: a new city, empty nest, growing family, downsizing, upsizing, starting over, starting fresh. And so many people sit on it. They wait and tell themselves interest rates are too high. Uh it's too late for me to move. I am comfortable here. I don't want to declutter. Um, and y'all, it's never too late for that either, either. Especially with us in your corner, because we're here to partner with you. We're going to be with you every step of the way, and we're not just gonna leave you out there to flail and figure it out on your own. So whether you're ready to list or ready to look or you've just been thinking about it, or you've got all these moving parts to try to figure it out, we're here for you. We're not here to pressure you, we're here to walk you through the change because change is good. And we we believe it can be if you have the right people in your corner. All right, y'all. So that's it from me today. I hope this resonated. I know it was kind of short and sweet, but if you know me, Friday is my Monday and we are running a hundred miles a minute. Um, so I'll keep you updated on the rest of our fun weekend.
