Welcome to the Seeds of Truth podcast, where seeds of biblical truth are planted into the hearts and minds of listeners so they can grow into a relationship with Jesus. I'm your host, Miss Dana. Thank you for joining me today. Let's get started. Hello, friends, and welcome. Today we are going to talk about Jesus' free gift. Jesus is the only way to heaven. So when you are given a gift, if someone is ready to give you a gift, what do you have to do to be able to have it? Do you have to do anything? No. All you have to do is accept it. You have to say, yes, I want to take this gift that you are giving to me. You don't have to do anything to earn a gift. You just accept it. Today we are going to look at five different Bible verses. And we're going to think about how each one of these verses leads us to know about Jesus' gift of salvation. So the first verse we're going to look at is Romans chapter 6, verse 23. And that verse says, When you sin, the pay you get is death. But God gives you the gift of eternal life. That's because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done. So this verse is saying that everyone sins, and the punishment for sin is to be separated from God after we die. But this verse tells us that God will give us eternal life because of what Jesus did. And what did Jesus do? Jesus lived a sinless life. So his gift of eternal life means life forever with Jesus. It never ends. Jesus Christ or Christ is another name for Jesus, and it means chosen one. The next verse is Romans chapter 5, verse 15, and it says, God's gift can't be compared with Adam's sin. Many people died because of the sin of that one man. But it was even more sure that God's grace would also come through one man. That man is Jesus Christ. God's gift of grace was more than enough for the whole world. So remember, Adam's sin was that he and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden when they ate the forbidden fruit. Their disobedience brought sin into the world. Adam's disobedience brought sin into the world, so we are all born into a world of sin because of the sin of that one man. But the Bible tells us here in this verse that God's gift also comes through one man, and that one man is Jesus. The gift that Jesus gave the world is that he offers us to take our sin away. Jesus died on the cross, he was buried, and he rose again back to life. He took the punishment that we deserve for our sins, and he offers us a free gift of eternal life. The third verse we're going to read is Romans chapter 5, verse 16. And it says, the result of God's gift is different from the result of Adam's sin. That one sin brought God's judgment. But after many sins, God's gift made people right with him. So Adam's sin brought judgment on the world. That judgment is separation from God. Before Adam sinned, people were able to be with God. And after sin entered the world, people were not able to be with God. God is perfect and he can't be in the presence of sin. But the gift that God offers us through what Jesus did for us can make us right with God. When we accept the gift that Jesus offers us, we can be with God just like He wanted us to be in the very beginning before Adam sinned. The fourth verse we're going to look at is from the book of Ephesians in chapter 2, verse 8. And it says, God's grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn't come from anything you do, it is God's gift. So salvation or being saved is being rescued from our sin so that we can have a relationship with God. And so we can be with God after we die on this earth. Salvation is being made right with God. Before we are saved, we cannot be with God. But after we are saved, we can live with God forever after our bodies die on this earth. Can we earn the gift of salvation? No, we cannot earn salvation. It is a gift that is given to us by Jesus because of what he did for us when he died on the cross and rose back to life. The word grace has a meaning that is when we get something good that is not deserved. So grace is when we get a gift that is not deserved, or when we get a reward that is not deserved. God gives us the gift of eternal life. This is life forever with Him, even when we don't deserve it. That is grace, getting something good that we don't deserve. We have not done anything and can't do anything to earn the gift of eternal life. It is something that God offers us because He loves us so much. God's gift is what Jesus did for us on the cross. God loves us so much and he wants to have a relationship with us. So he sent Jesus to die on the cross and raise back to life so that we can have life. That is what the Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:1. So faith is having complete trust or confidence in something or someone, even when you can't see it with your eyes. So to receive the free gift of salvation and living with God forever through Jesus, you must have faith in Jesus. You have to believe that he is God and that he came to save you from your sins so that you can have eternal life. And having faith in Jesus means that you have complete trust in him, even though you can't see him with your eyes. So before we read the last Bible verse, I want you to think again about a gift that you have been given. So if someone has a gift for you, what do you have to do to be able to have it? We talked about this before. All you have to do is accept it. You have to say, Yes, I want to take this gift that you are giving to me. You don't have to do anything to earn it, you just accept it. So our last verse that we're going to look at from the Bible is from the book of Ephesians, chapter 4, verse 7. And it says, But each one of us has received a gift of grace. These gifts are given to us by Christ. Remember, grace is receiving a gift or a reward that we do not deserve. Any person who wants the gift of eternal life that Jesus offers can have it for free. Jesus is offering you the free gift of forgiveness for your sins, and all you have to do is accept it. The Bible tells us in the book of Romans, say with your mouth, Jesus is Lord. Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved. With your heart you believe and are made right with God. With your mouth you say what you believe, and so you are saved. That is Romans chapter 10, verses 9 and 10. So this means when you believe in Jesus and you believe that he came to the earth to live a sinless life, you believe that he died on the cross, you believe that he was buried in a tomb, you believe that he was raised again to life on the third day, and you ask him to forgive you and save you from your sins, he will. And then you will have eternal life forever with God. And this is what it means to be born again. Jesus is the only way to heaven. The only way to go to heaven after you die is to trust in Jesus and ask him to save you. Let's pray. Dear God, thank you for the Bible that teaches us all of these truths about you and your love for us. Thank you for sending Jesus to earth to live a sinless life and to die on the cross for our sins. We thank you that you raised him back to life on the third day. Please guide us and help us to make good choices in our lives. Please give us understanding of all of the truths that you teach in the Bible, and please give us boldness to ask questions if we don't understand. We love you and we pray all of these things in Jesus' sweet name. Amen. Thank you for listening today. Until next time, God bless.
