Alex Bowman: All Of My Race Trophies Sit On The Floor... Here's Why

Alex Bowman joins the show to talk about a certain superstition that he believes has a direct correlation to how he runs on the track... trophies sitting on the floor. For most, it's bad luck. But as you'll hear, Alex Bowman begs to differ.

Alex Bowman won and made history at Dover in 2021, leading a Hendrick Brigade of a 1, 2, 3, 4 finish. The first time in organization history. David Stiles of Garage Pass talked to Alex Bowman leading up to the All-Star race at Dover this weekend and asked, where does Bowman keep his trophy? Turns out it's a pretty complicated question. You also have a Miles of Monster trophy. Is it still sitting on the floor in the shop at ABR or did it finally get put up on a shelf somewhere?

So we had people come into my shop and say that the trophies on the floor were bad luck. And then they showed up later with like tables to put the trophies on. We managed to run the worst we've ever run with the tables and the trophies on the tables. So we have since gotten rid of the tables, the trophies back on the floor, and magically we ran better. So um an actual trophy case has been on the list of to-do things, but I don't win enough to uh justify that at the moment. So um if we get if we get a couple more, we'll have to build a real trophy case. But um it's chilling in the shop. Um definitely a really cool trophy. I love Dover. Dover is probably uh my favorite racetrack. Obviously, statistically, we're always really good there. We've only won once, but we've been capable of winning probably five or six of those things. So yeah, really enjoy racing there and excited to get there.
