SPEAKER_02Four-time truck series winner Chandler Smith has been rock solid for Front Road Motorsports over the last few seasons, but announced last week that he would not return to the number 38 machine next season. Here is Jerry Freeze, the general manager for Front Row Motorsports, on the parties going their separate ways. Along with Truck Series points leader Lane Riggs and Cup drivers Zayn Smith, Noah Gregson, and our in-season challenge winner, Todd Gilliland, Freeze says that front row has a good problem with a full stable of young talent on their roster.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes you just don't have a place for everybody. And, you know, I think with Chandler, you know, that was that's part of it. He wants to move up in his career. And we talked about trying to get him some cup starts, and he he tried we tried to race Daytona with him next year and missed the show. But he's he's just looking to try to put himself in a position to be able to race on Sundays.
SPEAKER_02It has not been announced where Chandler Smith will land in 2027, but it could cause a ripple effect for the remaining open seats in the Cup Series. This is PRN's garage pass.
