SPEAKER_02Six weeks ago, three-time champion Joey Logano found himself in the 20th position in points. After his win in Richmond, he now sits in ninth. Here is Logano on picking up that second victory of the season.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was a fun, fun battle. Great race car, uh great race team. It took everybody to make it happen, just like every other race. But when it comes down to uh you know the strategy there, DM, making sure we hit that right. Also making sure we execute um the pit stop, right? There's a lot of pressure on the boys to do a good stop. They did a great job. And then uh, you know, executing the last run. Um I kind of thought I was gonna take off from the 19 after the way the end of the run before that was going, and then uh all of a sudden he was kind of hanging and reeled me back in. I was like, oh, that wasn't the plan. Uh so just trying to play the cat mouse of saving tires for the long haul because you know you're on that, but uh also you know trying to keep that track position and not let him get too close.
SPEAKER_02And the runner-up position was JGR driver Chase Briscoe, who duked it out all night with Joey Logano and said that he was very surprised to have such a stellar performance at Richmond.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it felt great from that standpoint. You know, truthfully, yeah. I probably started thinking about it a little too early, like 80-90 to go. I was like, man, I might have win at my best or my worst racetrack here. So I thought about it a little bit too early, probably, and then obviously came back to bite me at the end. But yeah, it was um still a lot to be proud of. You know, to come to one of your worst racetracks and to leave that many laps and be competitive is um something I can definitely you know go to bed tonight and be happy about.
