SPEAKER_03Welcome to the regime report. I'm Citrin. I am Drew. And I'm Raymond. And welcome to episode where I think we figured out it's it's eight, right? We're doing eight. We think it's episode eight. Episode eight.
SPEAKER_04We think it's eight.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna do this semi-episode, semi-episode eight. Let's let's do that.
SPEAKER_04Until further notice.
SPEAKER_03Until further notice. Depend on depend on the title. We haven't uh we haven't got together in a little bit. Well, we did the skit. Google check mark. Go check it out if you have not. Uh very entertaining. And it's just us go getting into our our sketch comedy, I guess you could say, right? Skin, sketch comedy, tomato, potato. Yeah, yeah. But we have a couple things to talk about today. Let's start off with Dark Nation Anaheim all day. You know? Now we got the Knicks against uh versus played against whoever you want to call it. They fought against the Spurs. Well fought game. Um go ahead, Knicks fan. Knicks fans, where you at? Where you at? Where you at, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. All right. So the Knicks are in the NBA finals. Oh my god. It's been a long time. It's been a long time coming. There's no turning back now. This is what makes me. This is what I am. A Knicks fan.
SPEAKER_01Until next year, I'm just gonna game one.
SPEAKER_02Oh man. So uh look, it's it's they're playing against the San Antonio Spurs. It's uh it's the best of seven series. The Knicks um do not have home court advantage, so they had to uh win a game on the road uh to ensure that the scale can tip in their favor. And they won game one on the road against the San Antonio Spurs. It was an excellent game. Uh the Knicks fought really uh hard um throughout the whole uh game. And the first half of the game, I kid you not, uh they had no calls. It's kind of hard to win a game when you had no calls on your side. I was screaming at the TV like a like a maniac, man. It's not even an exaggeration. Um there was a specific foul where they uh said Carl Anthony Towns uh committed an offensive foul on Wemby. I I can argue about this every day. The guy contested the shot in the restricted zone. Since when we call in offensive fouls in the restricted zone, I never heard that before. So let's let's let's let's pack it up. They lost. Okay. Uh Jalen Brunson, they were pulling his shirt all game. All game. He had a yell at um the the ref to call and blow the whistle uh at one point. He he got hit in his knee. Okay, understandable. Um, but then somebody stepped on his ankle. You know, what were they doing? They they weren't doing anything for the Knicks, they were pulling everything in fair for the Spurs. It wasn't until the second half of the game where they were actually making um fair calls at that point. And to be honest, the Knicks only went to the free throw line once at the half, uh leading up to the half. The Spurs was like eight times, uh eight to eleven times. And I kid you not, if it was uh uh if it was, and you know, I'm kind of excited at this point, if it was um caught evenly and a little bit more fairly, the Knicks probably would have been up at the half leading uh into the second half of the of the series, or well the game one of the series. And with with that being said, I always said something from very beginning. Um, you know, as far as how they how it goes with the NBA, you know, that I know there's wide speculation um that uh referees or the league is uh working on if not rigging or uh tipping the scale in favor of another team. Uh I felt that that was evident in the first six minutes of the game when they gave Josh Hart two fouls, they took him out, and then they gave Josh Hart a third foul in the second quarter. He didn't even play the first half of the he didn't even really really play the first half of the game, ended up getting 15 rounds, uh 15 rebounds by the end of um uh the fourth quarter. So he was a major, major uh contributor to their success by helping out and um distributing the basketball evenly to his teammates. Jalen Brunson ended the game 30 points. Uh 30 points he had to fight hard for. It wasn't an easy uh game between the Knicks or the Spurs. The Spurs is definitely a threat. It is literally and figuratively a David versus Goliath um type of uh excuse my excuse me David type David Goliath uh type of battle simply because Wemby is a tall, 7'4 basketball player who can catch up to you on defense, block the ball, also shoot the ball. And the Knicks are figuring out ways how to stop him. Uh they do have something figured out with Carl Anthony Towns. They have a couple more um options that I firmly believe that they can execute uh to play in their favor. Again, I'm a Knicks fan. Sorry if you listen from San Antonio. Uh, but to your to San Antonio's credit, they have five championships, and the Knicks are trying to fight for their third championship in franchise history. So I'm gonna just leave it at that. I'm really happy about game one. Game two uh is also gonna be played in San Antonio. We're gonna see how this goes. But the Knicks, uh, by winning that game, game one, they're on a 12-game winning streak in the playoffs. In franchise history of the Knicks, that has not ever happened. Uh, this team is something special, and I see it when they were playing against the other teams um leading into the NBA finals, they're all playing, firing on all cylinders, and as long as they keep playing like this, I firmly believe the Knicks will win the championship.
SPEAKER_03Well said.
unknownWell said.
SPEAKER_03So you got anything on this?
SPEAKER_04Um, yeah, I mean, uh I had the game on. I'm not gonna say I was engaged the whole time. I've said it previously. Basketball is just kind of not really my thing as much. Um, but I am, you know, I I also said I'm not a Knicks fan, you know, but I I am super excited that the Knicks are in the finals. Um, I think it's electric for this this part of the country right now. I mean, New York, New Jersey, I mean, it's kind of as real as against right now. Um yeah, I mean, I thought, you know, first off, if you looked, you know, if you watch the first half of that game, you would think, you know, the Knicks really had no business even being in that game, just the way that it started off. You got Brunson leaving early in the first half. Um, you know, I was glad he was able to come back. Um Town showed up, which was which was a big deal. Um, he showed up big, um, you know, especially when Brunson was out. I'm not saying he he was able to really close the gap so much necessarily, but he was at least able to kind of keep the game within reach. I mean, I and you know, in reach is you know, figuratively speaking, because it was a pretty big deficit getting towards the first half. Um, but I'm glad Brunson came back. Um and he didn't just come back. I mean, he he was on fire. I mean, just watching him get into the paint, find a way to get to the basket. I mean, some of them layups, I mean, I don't even know how he was spinning it on the angles he was getting, to be honest with you. I mean, just pure talent. Um, I think the Knicks definitely walked up in there, stole game one. I don't think they were supposed to win that game, but I think that that's a big deal that they walked in for that game. Um I don't personally think they're gonna get game two. I think the Spurs got to come in and handle business at home for game two. Um, but then I think what we got three back at home at the garden, right? After that, three at home and then two back back there, right? Is that how that works? Depends how it is.
SPEAKER_02That's not the that was the format at one point, um, but that's not the format. The format is two, one, one, two, then two in the garden, then one, one, one. Yeah. All right, yeah. I I think game three though. I know the NBA did that, and that was a ridiculous thing that they did, but it's literally two, two, one, one, one.
SPEAKER_04I think that's just for marketing purposes, and they can yeah, but that's fine. I think game three, like I said, I think game two, I think the Spurs gotta go, and I think they handle business. I think it's still gonna be a close game, but I think they handle business. I think coming back to the garden though, game three, first time in what 25 years, that place's gonna be rocking. I don't see how anybody could walk up in the garden and and beat the Knicks in game three. Honestly. Um, you know, I think I think maybe the Knicks handle game four as well. And then I think maybe the Spurs take game five. I got the Knicks and six. I think the Knicks are electric right now. I think coming back to the garden right now, yeah. I don't think there, like I said, I don't think there's a team right now that could walk up in the garden and and and really hand, you know, make the Knicks look dumb at this point. Um, I'm I'm excited. This is this has been a long time coming. Um yeah, man. I think the Knicks are gonna handle business. I think this is a big deal. Absolutely. What you think, Drew?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, definitely a big deal, man. I'm really excited. Oh, sorry, sorry. No, no, no, no. Listen, you're passionate about it. You're the fan. You're the fan. Yeah, bro. I'm passionate, yeah. Yeah. It's been 27 years since the uh the New York Knicks were uh in the NBA finals. And when they were in the NBA finals in 1999, they were the eighth seed. The Knicks were the Knicks are not the eighth seed. You know, they're really um they they're really uh putting in that work when it comes to uh playing the games. When they were shutting out the other teams, they were smacking them by 30 plus points, which is unheard of. They're making it very clear that we have a statement to make, we're here to stay. And this is probably, you know, and I'm a realist also, this is probably their one and only shot that they have of getting a championship because that Spurs team is a very young team, and they're gonna figure it out. They're gonna figure it out. And if they don't figure it out this year, they're gonna figure it out next year. That's a young team, average age is 25 years old. Wemby's only 22. Um, and all he needs to do is probably gain like 30 more pounds of muscle, and there he's gonna be a problem for everybody. And the same thing with Shaq. Once Shaq had that muscle, he was a problem for everybody, and they had to write different rules around you know to to accommodate other players because of how he played. It can also be like that um if Wemby continues to dominate uh at uh the level that he's playing right now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, uh, like you said, San Antonio, definitely young younger team. Uh they have they have chances. Uh this is the Knicks uh time right now. This is Knicks' time, and I do believe they're gonna get it. I'll give you my predictions before I think the Knicks are taking next game. Here's how it's gonna go. If the Knicks are taking next game, they will lose a game the first game of the garden, but then they're taking it all. That is my prediction. If they uh lose next game, then they're just taking it all.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_03They got one loss in them.
SPEAKER_02They got one loss in them, and then they're gonna just lose So you guys you're saying Nixon five, uh uh Sitron and I are gonna say Nixon six. Now I gotta say something. June 13th will be game six. That's the same time as the World Cup, man. It is going to be crowded in the tri-state area. Yeah, it is going to be a mess. Oh my god. If the Knicks win, game six will be in the garden if they take it that far to game six. And you win the man.
SPEAKER_04If the Knicks win it at home in the garden, like it's one thing to win it, and that's that's big. Oh my god, that's a big deal. People are gonna be crying. If the Knicks actually win it in the garden, bro, I don't want to be nowhere near Manhattan at that point, honestly. That shit that is gonna be crazy, crazy, crazy. Have you looked at tickets to get into the MSG for the finals? Have you seen what the ticket prices are going for? The nosebleed seats is five grand. The nosebleed seats right now, I looked earlier today. They are $7,200 for nosebleed. Oh, quartzide, quartzide, you look at when I checked it was five grand. You looking like like first like like section like hundreds, right? You're looking at like 76k, right? For for courtside scene, you're looking at 100 or 200k for a seat quartzide. It's just crazy. It's crazy, it's crazy. If I had the money, I would do it, but it's crazy. It's nuts. You know what I'm saying? Like to be part of that would be nuts. No, and I get you, bro. I almost want to go to the box parties because it's just dope. You know what I mean? Like, oh yeah. You just think about that too.
SPEAKER_03I was thinking about going, but I don't know, guys.
SPEAKER_02If they win, it it has to happen. We gotta go to like a party or something for that. Yeah, no, we will. We will win the pod there. Yeah, definitely, definitely.
SPEAKER_03We'll just shoot a video. Shoot a video. We're having pod.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna shoot a video. Now, one thing that always kills me is why is there always like somebody who's supporting the other team in New York? Like, I saw a video, this kid got chased down the block. He was wearing a Tim Duncan jersey. Why are you doing that in New York, especially in New York? Yeah, it's it's it's it's crazy. I saw another one. This guy got knocked out. I'm like, what why are people doing this in the first place? They're putting themselves in positions where it's just gonna be confrontational, and I'm like, bro, not the guys are knocking people out for wearing a jersey, right?
SPEAKER_03They're okay. I mean, no, I get it. I get it. Like you just knocked out the nice. That's not a good thing. No your surroundings. No, no, your surroundings, but yeah.
SPEAKER_04I like the sportsmanship, but you come you coming into the heart of New York like that. Come on, man. We handle business. Come on, we handle business. No.
SPEAKER_02I bet you you come into the heart of New York and you're not stressed about the people around you. You get the police department stressed about what's going on.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna shoot me uh early and looking for a jersey. You're me for a jersey, you better get ready. Um that's you what your life costs for a jersey. That's that's gonna be your life right there. The same.
SPEAKER_04You better get the same signed and like notarized and all that shit, because that's it. That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_03That's that's that's I want yeah. I'm gonna make sure I put the Knicks jersey on your on your casket on the way out.
SPEAKER_02But um, I mean, at the same time, they got Knicks fans that are showing up. Uh no, it's Antonio. And I like that. So I like that. I like that.
SPEAKER_01That's fine.
SPEAKER_04That's okay. Yeah. New York shows up everywhere. That's okay.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Right now, Citron, you mentioned um the price of the nosebleed seeds, $7,200. I actually saw a video yesterday. Somebody took the price of the tickets from um San Antonio, then they took the price of the tickets from Madison Square Garden, and they literally said, You can book a vacation on well, they use $5,000 as as a you know, as a as pretty much the money you can work with. But you could book a vacation for $7,200, get tickets to the game in San Antonio, and still have money left over. Flights included in everything. Well, that's what New York baby Square Garden. Welcome to New York.
SPEAKER_04Welcome to New York, welcome to New Jersey. That's what it is up here. That's it.
SPEAKER_03And here's my thing. Let's let's talk about these. There weren't that many Knicks fans a couple couple years ago. I just want to say that. I want to crack that out. I want to point that out.
SPEAKER_04They were Knicks fans. They were upset, bro. They were just upset. They were in hiding.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, no, no, no. We're not gonna do that. We're in hiding. No, no, they weren't even like bro. They were hiding.
SPEAKER_04New York fans, they show up. They they show up even in losing seasons. They show up to every game, bro. They show up. The true ones, yeah.
SPEAKER_03The true ones, yeah. But there's a lot more than before.
SPEAKER_02I mean, they were making the playoffs for some time. Now they have like not a title contenders, and everybody's like, well, that's what that's on me.
SPEAKER_03That's what I mean. Everybody's on everybody's backed up now. It's like good. I love seeing the city. I love seeing the city win. I love seeing the city win. Fun.
SPEAKER_04Well, I'm just saying they're they're they're cautious fans, you know. Like every every time something looks good or or it seems like things are going good, right? Nobody wants to say anything. Because that one thing when you say, like, oh, the Knicks kind of look good this year, boom, they tank. It's the same thing with the Jets, bro. But he's like, yo, the Jets, they might they might be kind of scrappy this year. Three and whatever, two and whatever. That's the same thing with Knicks fans, man.
SPEAKER_03My jiu jitsu coach, my jiu-jitsu coach disagrees today. He's like, the Knicks disappointed me. I'm still a fan, but the Knicks disappointed me so many times that it's whatever. So he's like, it's like uh Star weather's nice, you know. I mean, he's like, are they winning? No, all right, I'm going back inside.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, maybe you're the moment while he still can't.
SPEAKER_03We might not get this chance for listen, they're taking it. I know they're taking it. The team, and this this is what I want to say. The team is just so dynamic. Like just a team. It's been a while since we've seen uh like a full set team like this. You know what I'm saying? Again, you got your main players here, this, that, and the third. Like, uh, you know, but this is an actual team that plays together. The biggest name there, though, I I say the the biggest, like the nice pick was Carl Anthony Towns going there. You know what I'm saying? But everything. Yeah, but even uh him in there, he's playing with these guys. He's not like, oh, give me the ball, you know what I mean? Like, no, he's playing with these guys. St. Joe's Jersey uh dude right there, by the way. Um but yeah, it it's definitely cool to see. It's definitely a fresh team to see. Like you said, it might be the last on only chance for quite some time. So I got faith in him. I know that he's gonna take it, it's gonna be good. And you know, we're gonna wild out.
SPEAKER_04Hey, also, I just wanted to mention you know the Almer Matter for uh Anthony Towns, you know where he played high school basketball, St. Joe's. I'm just saying, rep in Jersey. You wanna go Matouchin?
SPEAKER_03That's where we're gonna touch and wild out. That's what I'm saying. You wanna go Matouchin and Wall out? I'm pretty sure Matouch can be bugging. I'm just saying. We can go with Matouchin while out. I'm just saying. Gotta read it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and then we rep jersey when we can rep it, is all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. That's true.
SPEAKER_03That's it. We gotta work on that next uh next skit idea. Fair. We'll talk all fun about that one. Uh any any uh more news on the Knicks guys? I don't know. We could talk about this for a minute. I know that. Yeah, we've been talking about the Knicks for a minute.
SPEAKER_02So you can't one thing for sure when it comes to the Knicks, I don't know another organization in which their fan base will actually actively boo the team while the team is playing. If the Knicks were playing bad, that would have been I'm not talking about now, but I'm talking about back then. There used to be a point where the Knicks would play so bad that the fans that bought tickets would boo them because that's how bad they were. So trust me, the fans are passionate. Um more uh crazy than ever, probably because of social media and all the hype and stuff like that, but you know, as I mentioned before, this is a chance we'll probably never get again. We'll probably never get to see for quite some time. And um they're fighting on every uh possession, they're fighting uh tough. They did win like the the in-tournament cup. That was also against San Antonio. Um, also, I don't I don't know if anybody remembered this. When Jalen Brunson scored 61 points, Wemby took the ball, threw it in the crowd. That was his that was his career high. Usually the player wants to keep the ball. Nah, he just threw it in the crowd, which is kind of fucked up.
SPEAKER_04Some extra motivation, perhaps. Also just for the colour. Extra motivation, necessary motivation. Yankees will also boo the team while they're playing. I'm just I'm just saying. I've been there for a lot of that. But that that's that's a whole different thing. But I just wanted to point that out.
SPEAKER_03So when we threw when we Wemby threw runs in the ball.
SPEAKER_04Into the crowd. Like into the stands after the game. It was in third grade? Well, what the fuck? That's what I'm saying. You and you won't let somebody like that do that. That's what you rooted, bro.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man. Um was that game in New York or was it in San Antonio? Excellent thing.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, it could have been in San Antonio. It was in San Antonio. I'm just checking. Okay. I think it's San Antonio. That's what I'm saying. If that was in New York, that's some fighting shit, is all I'm saying. But that's just I was just asking. All right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. And then, you know, on another note, um, this is the first season that Mike Brown is uh coaching the team. You can see he made the adjustments uh compared to Tim uh to Thibodeau. Uh Tibbs, he got the Knicks as far as he could get um them to, and he was doing great, and and hats off to him. Uh, however, uh I think it's quite evident his coaching style needs some type of adjustment because when you're running a six-man rotation into the playoffs, that's where everybody started burning out. And right now, uh the the Knicks are running a 10-man rotation, uh, which is helping everybody uh play with much more solid effort, uh trusting one in one uh trusting everybody's teammates. And um if I think if Tibbs would have taken that approach and you know, playing more players throughout the season, having a better rotation of you know, at least nine uh men, I think they probably would have had a bit a little bit more success last season. They fell short against the Indiana Pacers. And um Halliburton uh sprained his ankle. Not sprained his ankle, pulled his Achilles in the um in the NBA finals. So Pacers are out of the question. The um the Celtics, uh, they had Jason Tatum. Jason Tatum pulled his Achilles, and you know, he he really didn't play and try to play in the playoffs. They got bumped. So like everything was falling in line for the Knicks. Uh that they're just capitalizing, which is why I'm I'm really emphasizing this is like their only shot uh to actually get the championship. I'm pretty sure, you know, granted that they win, people are gonna say, well, can you do can you do this again? I am more than confident they're gonna put um everything that they have uh into every game that they play to try to repeat, granted that they uh that they won a championship this year.
SPEAKER_03Don't get it twisted. Do not get it twisted at all. They might just sweep them, they might just keep this thing going. They might just be how many games in a row? Yeah, 12? They're at 12.
SPEAKER_04So tomorrow if they win, bro, a game 14. My math is correct and MSG.
SPEAKER_03Yo, it's possible. They're on momentum, they're all momentum. Absolutely possible. So I'm I'm I'm not taking that out of my um my prediction, but I do think Sonia's gonna get one.
SPEAKER_02We have to go to a parade if they have a parade. I hate parades, bro.
SPEAKER_04I hate them too, but I'll go. I don't know if I'm gonna go to what it was in my lifetime. Let's go to Yankee. I never after the Giants. Let's go to Monday one. I never watched the one.
SPEAKER_03We'll go to Newcompara and we can watch the parade.
SPEAKER_04I went to a Yankee one once. It wasn't it wasn't as fun as it sounds, I'm just saying. It just wasn't.
SPEAKER_03But you're just standing there. They're having fun.
SPEAKER_04They're just going. They're living it up, and you're like, who is that? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Yo, it's like uh what do you call it? Oh, like the the dropping of the ball for New Year's Eve. I always thought that shit was like, uh I don't know.
SPEAKER_02When I was younger, it did seem it seemed cool to do, but then as you grew up, you're like, man, you're sitting in the core for 14 hours. You gotta take a piss, you know what I mean? Yeah, grown people wearing ducks out there.
SPEAKER_04What are you doing? You can't you can't leave. You go literally right there. I would do it one time just to say I did it. I'm good. Maybe I wouldn't. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Hey, maybe I'd happens when we what happens if we go to the rooftop bar and watch it.
SPEAKER_01That would be so much an option.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think the rooftop bar is gonna be a thing for free's upcoming uh winter.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you're still there, you're just not, you know.
SPEAKER_03Oh, winter, we're talking about summer. But yeah, for New Year's, yeah. Okay. There's no bad. You know. There is there is not. There is nothing.
SPEAKER_02Especially in New York, there's nothing to a rooftop bar. Maybe when it rains. Nah, because you know what?
SPEAKER_04I think they're not open. Some of them are open. Being closed. Some of them are open. In Orlando, some of them are open, yeah. In Orlando, they were open.
SPEAKER_03It's Orlando, dog.
SPEAKER_04I'm just saying, though. It was open. If it rained, that would have sucked.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they're open.
SPEAKER_04You know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That's a throwback trip. Throwback trip.
SPEAKER_04Well, we we're talking about throwbacks though. So I think that's a good thing. I had to bring it up because that's where that track came from. That literally, that root top bar. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03So just saying. Well, yeah, we got another throwback with uh the roots picnic in Philly. And guess who came out to play? Guess who came out with the whole Fort Mount New York? We're talking about I made I made the Yankee hat more famous than the Yankee King. Ray. Yeah, that's true. Which is kind of surprising. Top top ten.
SPEAKER_02Is it actually factual?
SPEAKER_03You know what it might be? I ain't gonna front.
SPEAKER_02I made the Yankee hat more famous than the Yankee game.
SPEAKER_03Did you say Yankee game or Yankee King? It's a Yankee game. Oh, they told me I thought you were talking about Derek Jeter. I made the Yankee Game more famous than the Yankee King.
SPEAKER_04Oh.
SPEAKER_03Oh shit.
SPEAKER_04I don't yeah, I don't think he said that. We could pull up the lyrics. We should pull up the lyrics.
SPEAKER_03Look it up.
SPEAKER_04I actually I actually don't know. No, I'll pull it up on him. I'll pull it up. Didn't he say you can make the Yankee hat more famous than the Yankee can? Or was it actually game?
SPEAKER_03No. He said he said I made a Yankee hat more famous than the Yankee whatever. All right. Surveys.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. No. He said I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can. Not Yankee King. Oh. But not game than you.
SPEAKER_04This and the team regardless, man.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_03Alright. Well, I was closer, kinda. How were you closer, right? I hit him right on the head, didn't he?
SPEAKER_02Oh no, he did. I'm talking about Ray. Oh, okay. Shit, I made the Yankee hat more famous than the Yankee Ken. Okay.
SPEAKER_03So yeah. So Mr. Jay-Z, Mr. Uh Hov. He's actually performing at the Yankee Stadium. Yeah. He did. He did a freestyle. He did a freestyle coming at a couple people. Um did you guys hear it? I heard it. I I heard it and then I had to try to break it down. Then I actually had to try to find something to help me break it down with things that I missed. Which there were some. There were some I missed.
SPEAKER_02A lot of people.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. No, no, he did a lot. He just a lot of people. Um I think. Did he do Soschino? Was that the stuttering dude? The dude still stuttering. Or was that to Dame Dash still?
SPEAKER_02He does. I think that was Dane Dash. I heard it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because it's the same line as the teeth. Dame Dash, Drake, Nikki, his lawyer, this the lawyer dude that tried to get him. Um, I think it's Hubert or something, Humber. I don't know. Who cares?
SPEAKER_02Okay, so he he diss Drake, he dis Nikki. He does Dane, he dis Tori. He did Jaguar Wright, Tori Lane. And then um yeah, he did Tory lanes.
SPEAKER_03I'll say this.
SPEAKER_02Let me see if I can find the lyrics. I'll just recite.
SPEAKER_03Take it out, yeah. Check it out. So while he's found the lyrics, I will say apparently a lot of people who redist this is more like a rebuttal. This is not him poking any bear. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's not him starting anything. He this is from the rebuttal. And I know we talked about the the Drake's sit, right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but but but not not just Drake now. Now now now there's other people. No, no, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No, word, word, word. He responded to Drake. So uh on Drake's Iceman album, I heard the album. He you know, Kendrick said, I don't like when he acts tough. He was dissing everybody. I kind of like that he dissed everybody, man, to be honest. I don't like tough. And it's just like a gold Iceman, everything to say. Just hear the songs, bro. So he's going at a song.
SPEAKER_03That's a thing. You have no opinion. No opinion is valid.
SPEAKER_02So no, no, but um, he kind of caught he he he called out Jay. He called out Jay. He was just pretty much saying, um, I can't learn anything from y'all. I'll take the 500k. I can't learn anything from y'all. So everybody knows about would you have dinner with Jay-Z or would you take the 500,000? And I'm like, even Jay-Z said I'll take the 500,000.
SPEAKER_03That's what Jay Z certainly's like, I'm I'm canceling the brunches. Like, I'm done giving y'all a game. Like, that's it. Like, all right, I'm canceling the brunches.
SPEAKER_02I'm not gonna lie, when he said the freestyle, do look like Easy E spitting a freestyle like that. Like, he's like a San Andreas character.
SPEAKER_03I didn't like his I didn't like his outfit choice right in the front.
SPEAKER_02All right, so I don't want to read the whole thing. I'm just gonna like point out certain things. The rock's not crumbling, these leprechauns have magically run out of pranks. He's talking about Victory Lane's. Your son in a federal jail line mumbling, stumbling about having too much of his drink. You know how dumb that is? Another one fumbled his. Wonder how to get this blame. Teeth is tumbling out their mouth. Somehow, I'm the one who done it. There's a murder mystery game. I don't know why people thought of Scooby-Doo. Murder mystery gang. I was like, So pretty much you went at Tori, and then he called out Damon Dash because Damon Dash's teeth fell out. Yeah. Which is kind of funny because like now he's not kind of known for that. Do you know the rebuttal that Damon Dash had the next day?
SPEAKER_03Nah, I didn't see this video.
SPEAKER_02That shit was funny as fuck. So Damon Dash goes, you know, Jay's breath always stank. Yo, then he would shoot big red gum. He smelled like cinnamon doo-doo. And I was Yeah, man. Why do you say cinnamon doo-doo?
SPEAKER_03Like Daniel, Damien Dash is just at this point, you know, and it's sad to see, yo, because like he was the man at one point, right? An innovator, uh, entrepreneur, and just the way he's moving now is is weird. You know what I'm saying? It's just very childish, I think. I think he's just trying to stay relevant. And I do agree with this because I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. I do agree with that. That's why Cam had the falling out. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I do agree that um he he stood relevant for a while talking about Jay-Z. He didn't. That's what I kept him relevant. That's what kept him relevant. All the any interview he went to, he always like either he was asked about Jay-Z or he brought it up himself. Oh, when this happened, this happened, when Jay-Z got hit in the elevator by the by his sister-in-law. He was like, Man, if that was the when we if The Rock was there, man, it would be crazy. We'll just laugh about it, be joking, ha ha. You know what I mean? I'm like, bro, you you're not. You know, I mean it's over. It's it's over, Dane. It's over.
SPEAKER_02So um, back to the the Jay-Z verse. Um, he just disregarded me. He's like, let's get back to the verse. Sorry.
SPEAKER_04He he called out yeah, Dame is good, but let's keep it line.
SPEAKER_02He called out Nikki, and then he I think he also called out Kanye because he mentioned like MAGA Republicans, because Kanye was wearing the MAGA hat. Is he still? I don't even know at this point. But he was at a I don't even think he's he lives in the U.S. at this point.
SPEAKER_03He was at a dinner though, Jay-Z with like a Republican dinner. Jay-Z was at a Republican dinner? Yeah, it was from some type of event. Some type of event? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03We can look it up. You can look it up, but you know what? Uh I'm looking up real quick.
SPEAKER_04So what uh prior to this, right? When was the last time Jay came out with a track? Either a freestyle or a track or something like that. Quite some time. Okay. So that's what I thought.
SPEAKER_02The last song he had was like God did. He has he spit like a four-minute verse. That was like the last time he actually really spit something, and people were like, Oh, look at the double entendres here and stuff like that. Okay. But the last project was 444, and then he did the uh collaboration album with his wife. Um, I think it's called Meet the Carters or something like that. Okay. Or okay.
SPEAKER_04I really didn't even know about this album until y'all told me about it, right? All right, so so we got J fucking Z, right? He hasn't dropped something in a minute, right? In a minute, okay? I'm just saying, we haven't heard anything from him in a minute, okay? So he gets up on stage and drops a freestyle dissing Drake, Nikki, and Tori Lanes. Bro, sit the fuck down. What the shit fine, fine. But you dissing those three rappers, you are J fucking Z. You're in most people, especially people that come from the New York area, you're in their top three, at least top five of most people's best rappers ever. What the fuck are you dissing these rappers for? Who the fuck cares? First off, who is Tori Lanez at this point? He's nobody. Second, who is Nikki Minaj? We'll get to this list. I disagree. She's a nobody, and you're dissing fucking Drake. And you're dissing Drake. You're dissing Drake when Cole just came out with a whole fucking album that I didn't even hear you fucking support or endorse. And you're you're getting up here dissing Drake. Like, what are we doing, bro? Like, you you are J fucking Z. I don't want to hear this shit from you. If this is what you're gonna do in the music realm, stay in your business lane. I don't want you to come back. I don't want to hear you spit anything. I don't want to hear a diss on these three rappers. We can fucking diss these three rappers. I don't need J fucking Z coming up here and saying shit like that. That's not my idea of hey, I haven't heard you in a while. Let me see what you're about to spit. It's bullshit to me. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to fucking hear it. That's just how I feel. You are literally one of the best ever from where I'm from. And you're distant no-name rappers at this point. I mean, okay, Drake, maybe not so much a no-name rapper. He's a no-name to me, not to everybody. Fine. These are trash rappers. Why are you even giving them the time of day? And then not, I'm not gonna lie. I I had this conversation with a friend earlier today, actually, who knows I'm a big M fan who used the whole well M went at MGK, and MGK was kind of like a no-name rapper. And I agree with that, but it's a little bit different, right? Because MGK mentions MM's daughter. So that's why M even went in him at all, right? There is no reason for Jay to be of the status that Jay is at to even entertain any type of these disses or dissing any type of these rappers. I just don't understand it. Well, you just you're trying to be relevant because people be listening to these rappers. Like last time I checked, you're Jay fucking Z. You drop a track, you're gonna get a million views in an hour. You're gonna get more than a million listens in an hour. What do you what are you dissing these people? That's just how I feel.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04No, right?
SPEAKER_03I do like that you brought up there, bro. That's animated already. I got you.
SPEAKER_02I do like that you brought up he doesn't ever support Cole. Like he never brings up Cole.
SPEAKER_04He never like, you know, he mentioned Drake. He's mentioned Cole now, and Cole just dropped a dope fucking album. And he's not even mentioned. He's gonna diss Drake. Why? Because Drake mentioned him on a song. Who cares? Drake needs to mention you on a song. He's Drake. You're Jay-Z.
SPEAKER_03Shut up, bruh. For real. Why? Well, I mean, facts is facts. One's one is legendary. One one is big in the eyes of people. Let's not be that. Let's not be close-minded in that. I'm able to see that. People like Drake. But Drake nominated? Like both? No, no, no, no. Exactly. One is stardom, but one is legendary. You know what I'm saying? And that's where I get I get you. Like, yeah, man, you should just. But that's Jay-Z fashion, though. He always he's always gonna pick at something. Like if he hears something, he's gonna pick it. He's gonna be like, all right, why? So I heard he's like, I'm done talking to y'all then. I'm canceling a bunch of then.
SPEAKER_02I'm done listening. I heard that this whole Jay-Z Drake thing, this whole conflict that they had really started when um Drake decided not to endorse uh the title uh streaming app that Jay had. Like that that was definitely from what I heard, the start of it. Pretty much pretty much a breakdown the timeline. Do you remember when Meek Mills called him out with the Ghost Rider? He got charged up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Prior to that, Jay-Z um was looking for artists to uh support his streaming platform, bring about ownership and stuff like that. Drake was one of those people who decided not to do it. That's why he took the Apple deal, which was a 20 million check and stuff like that. That's why if you heard the charged up verse, he says, Uh, I I gotta deal with Apple, but I still feel entitled. It was like, oh, okay, well, you know. But then, yeah, yeah, yeah. That that was a sneak bar. That was a sneak disc from the beginning. And then who signed under Rock Nation? Meek Mills. So you remember when Eminem got a um got a MGK was just like, oh, you got the Diddy okay? Me called the J OK. And then what happened? Couldn't stop that? Then what happens later on? Um okay, they still make a music, it seems like it's cordial, whatever. But, you know, with the whole Kendrick Lamar beef, like it surprised me he had the Super Bowl event because I it seemed like they just got it just as uh get at uh get at Drake. Because I'm just like, wait a minute. And then when we see the the Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl performance, it was all about Drake. I'm like, dude, you could have had a better performance, but you made it all about Drake. So this is this is the crazy thing. Like, and it's I'm not sound like I'm like I'm riding the coattail, but when people mention this guy, they get substantial views, they get substantial recognition. People, you know, it brings eyes to them. Maybe that's why Kendrick would do that. But who was in charge of the Super Bowl performances and gave the green light? Jay-Z gave the green light for Kendrick Lamar to perform at the Super Bowl. So they're playing like this hidden chess game, and then it got to the point where you know Drake said what he said on the album. He dissed a lot of people, which is funny. There it but then Jay had his rebuttal. But there's actually one funny song. I laugh when I hear it. Um, there's a song called Burning Bridges, and he pretty much is dissing ASAP Rocky. And he says, I put you through the ringer, you get embodied by his singing. I take no L like like Chris Kringle, no L, Kris Kringle, whatever. But then he goes, Your baby mom ain't post a single. Where she at? Where she at? And the baby mom is Rihanna and she didn't post the singles. It was out there, show us. She didn't post a single to his music. Rihanna, biggest artist in the world, one of the biggest. She doesn't even make music anymore at this point. She's having kids with the guy, you know. And then it's like, hmm. Why didn't you post a single? Yeah, happily in love, right? And then if she finally posts something, it's like, ah, he got him. He got him. What did she post something? Finally did something. I don't know if she did. But if if she ever does, that's gonna be brought up now. Now think of all these aspiring rappers with baby mamas.
SPEAKER_03Why why why why is Drake still stalking on Rihanna's page, though?
SPEAKER_02Bro, I I gotta admit, I think he should just leave it alone. But the controversy sells, and that could be a reason why they're doing this. Um, but I just thought it was funny. He just called it out like that. Now think of all these other rappers. That is funny. No, that is that is pretty hilarious. Think of all these other rappers, aspiring rappers, and they're gonna be like, yo, baby, I'll make post a single.
SPEAKER_04He shouldn't just leave Rihanna alone. At this point, he should really just leave music alone, but that's a whole other thing.
SPEAKER_03So he should leave Rihanna alone. I promise you. And and and and I promise you, you he he wouldn't want to say that in front of uh ASAP Rocky.
SPEAKER_01He wouldn't want to say any of that in front of anybody.
SPEAKER_03No, but especially ASAP Rocky. You know what I mean? Like No, I get it. He bought that. Yeah, I get it. He bought that light, bro. But whatever. Whatever. I'm just I'm just here.
SPEAKER_02I want to see him say that in front of ASAP Rocky.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_02I want to see him say that because to be honest, he's an actor. He's he's an actor now. I'm talking about ASAP Rocky, and he's a model. You saw him, you saw him in Calvin Klein? No. Yeah, he'd be he be dressing Calvin Klein. Like, what the hell, bro? Spit some bars. You you modeling Calvin Klein.
SPEAKER_04He just dropped the album, bro. He just dropped his album.
SPEAKER_02So I know, but it took forever to make the album. That's the point, man.
SPEAKER_04He did. Yeah, he did.
SPEAKER_03Look at us.
SPEAKER_02It was a good album, man. I like listening to Face Sab Rocky.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it was decent.
SPEAKER_03You know. Said, look at us. It's been a minute since we dropped something.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I haven't dropped anything like that.
SPEAKER_02That J Freestyle. He he said some clubbers shit snapping at Nikki. Um, I gotta find the lyrics because it was like a triple entendre. But can you one second?
SPEAKER_01I'm not denying that to the database.
SPEAKER_03I'm just saying it's who it's about is like no, no, no, no, but you know what? And in my opinion, and this is why I had to keep on like trying to find the hidden gems behind it, because overall, at first glance, I didn't think that was I don't think it was that whatever at first glance, right? It was clever. But even even I said, like, even with the sneak this is and everything like that, I'll still give it in a scale of one to ten. I'm giving it like a maybe a six, seven. I don't even think it was not remarkable. It was not like he's coming over there and like Jay. I feel like Jay picks his moments. He picks his moments when he wants to be with the in crowd. Yeah, right. He picks his moments when he wants to be a businessman, and he picks a moment when he wants to be at the roots picnic, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04But also, like you just said you would give it like a six or a seven, like it was eh. You're talking about an eh thing on trash ass rappers. So, like, what did this really do? Like, why even? You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Like it just put it, yeah, it just put his name up and but that's it though.
SPEAKER_04But like he could have done that in a million different ways, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Like he don't have to that way, and this is why Nas will always be the GOAT, because Nas is actually hip hop. Nas is actually hip hop. Jay, he's rap, he's industry, right? He's a legend in his own right, and a lot of quota, like he's bars and everything like that, yes. But Nas is hip hop. Nas could go to a rock the bells, you know. Mean now I said go to um a roots picnic they like nothing like nothing look um supporting A Z on his album which is dope album by the way um Do I die three A Z Gotta hear it? Uh maybe we should speak on that maybe next next time or something, just uh a little bit. But I found a later I listened to it twice already and I'm like okay this is A Z man. He's just he still got it. A Z still got it, but that's who now I heard the album, I liked it. Yeah, that was the album I heard it I liked it.
SPEAKER_04I need to I need to listen to it again, but the first pass, yeah, it was it was pretty good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah I feel like it was a little bit too short. My only my only um real hiccup on it. I would like to hear more and more diverse tracks, right? I felt like he kind of stood with the same AZ cool, you know what I mean? Talk about life in a couple of them, um, and everything like that, but yeah, just a little bit a little bit more diverse. But other than that, it's easy.
SPEAKER_04I think it was good. Real real quick before we segue away from the whole Jay thing though, Ray, what what was the lyric that you found?
SPEAKER_02So the lyric that the direct shot at Nicki Minaj um was the lady on the stuff, she sounds like she in love with him. Her ken can't even take their kids, enough of them. So pretty much I don't know if anybody knows this, but the woman that Nicki Minaj is is is apparently married to, he's a registered sex offender. Yeah. So he can't even take the kids nowhere. So he's like, enough of them. She on that stuff, he's insinuating that she, you know, probably be on drugs and stuff like that. And plus, you know, um, a lot of what Jay was doing, he was just taking throwing shots back at well, that sounds crazy. He was uh he was firing back at uh people who were coming at him, and Nicki Minaj was one of them. Uh and I'm pretty pretty sure she was mad about the fact that she was she wasn't getting the same recognition that she was getting back then in like uh the 2010s. Um, but that's just how the game is, man. And revolving door, you know, yep.
SPEAKER_04That's how it was. I'm just saying. Like she wasn't that great back then, she just had the backing. She's definitely not great now. Just saying. That's my own opinion. Yeah, just saying. You definitely have the backing, that is she's gonna be.
SPEAKER_03She was holding down female MC, she was holding down back then. Um, but like you said, even I still put Lauren Hill uh ahead of her. You know what I mean? I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I put it Kim ahead of her too. Are you kidding me?
SPEAKER_02Oh, so you were siding with Little Kim when they um she was dissing Little Kim? Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_03What happened? Pink Friday or Black What was it? Black Friday, Pink Friday?
SPEAKER_02So Pink Friday was Nicki Minaj. Black Friday was a response from Little Kim. Yeah. But to be honest, it's like you see, it came, it seemed like this diss came out of nowhere from Nicki Minaj to defer, you know, her fan base and take her fans. Like, I had no, like, like, okay, she dissed them, she openly admitted, yeah, I dissed them. Like, I got dissed her and stuff like that, because she's talking shit about me. But then Nicky, uh, but then Lil' Kim was just like, no, she just be acting obnoxious and shit. Which reminds me, I don't know if you remember, but there was an altercation at the VMAs with Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. Yeah, because Cardi B was like, don't you fucking talk shit about me? And what happened? Nicki Min uh not Nicki Minaj, Cardi B ended up with some fucking shit upside her head, but it's like, why is trouble following this individual? It's like, come on. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03I like Hardy B just because her authenticness for Oh yeah, me too. Yeah, like she's real. I'm not saying for that reason. I'm not I'm not saying as an artist. I mean he has to be real, but like No, no, but again, she's not playing like politics. Like she she is who she is. Yeah, I guess. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, no, that's what I'm she's probably her when she was in the club back in the day, and this is her now, and she really didn't change up now. She's just she's hid nothing.
SPEAKER_04She's hid nothing. She no no cares at all about telling us about what she used to do, so there's that.
SPEAKER_03Um that's fair.
SPEAKER_04It's what it is. It's fair.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but yeah.
SPEAKER_03But like I was doing like this before, because I was saying a revolving door, right? Because hey, you have little Kim, you have Nikki, now you have um not now, but uh then you had Cardi, and then somebody else popping up. Like there's always there's always gonna be something. Why is there always just one female rapper? I don't know, but that's different, yeah. Like there's always been one.
SPEAKER_02There was never a time where there's like more than one female rapper with a presence. Not really. I can't I can't think of one. Like, I'll give you a perfect example. We had Lil Kim, right? Um, and then the next female rapper I could think of after Little Kim. Well, I mean, I don't want to really want to count Lauren Hill in that regard because she was because Lil' Kim was early, but Lil' Kim had a presence that lasted into the early 2000s. Yeah, it was Eve. Eve, she was a dope rapper, like she could she part of Rough Riders, you know, she spit that hard shit, and then you know, she spit the shit for the ladies and stuff like that. And after her, who was the next female rapper after her? I can't even think of that. Maybe after that was Nick McNaj, because there was like a drop after that.
SPEAKER_03Would you put Remy Mom? Oh Remy Mom.
SPEAKER_04Remy, Remy, Remy Digger, uh Remy. You got Trina, I did uh uh uh Trina was I don't know if you count Trina as like the same thing, but she was there. Um she was rapping. Yeah, count uh I mean that's really not like the topic of the total.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like you weren't like thinking about like the she was on tracks with like the hottest rappers at the time, though.
SPEAKER_04I mean Luda was doing his thing back then, and she you know, she made sure she was on that and some other stuff. I can't I can't think of any of the other stuff at right now, but I know she was on some stuff.
SPEAKER_03Trina, Trina, that was um Luda's girl, right? His artist?
SPEAKER_04That was Wayne's girl. No, no, he was on he was on a bunch, uh she was on a I think a couple of his tracks, uh Luda's girl.
SPEAKER_03Describing the piece, right? Yeah, she she comes from distributing the piece, right?
SPEAKER_04I believe so. I believe DTP, yeah. Honestly, I don't know. Yeah, I believe so. Because I think she was she was on uh I think she was he was um she was on uh Chingy track also and Chingy was DTP, wasn't he? I just remembered something.
SPEAKER_02How could we forget Missy Elliott?
SPEAKER_04Oh Missy Elliott, that's like the biggest one. I totally forgot about Missy Elliott.
SPEAKER_02She was one of the better rappers, yeah. Um actually wanted probably top tier, but she never sold herself as a sex symbol. All the other ones sold themselves as a sex symbol. That's a good point. You would view Missy Elliott as a sex symbol? I'm not trying to take a shot, but you would view her as a sex symbol. She lost the weight, that's great for her.
SPEAKER_03Trina was not on disturbing piece, but I know somebody was on disturbing piece, though. Really? Who was the female? Was it Shauna? Shauna.
SPEAKER_04That's like me going way back, like way back.
SPEAKER_03Yep, Shauna. Was it Shauna?
SPEAKER_04Okay. I think it was one of the two. I got them confused. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Going back to Missy Elliott. Um, no, I again I don't she wasn't a sex symbol, but what she talked about, but it was talking about like fucking. She made good club music, man. She bro, what was um she made iconic tracks. No, she did iconic tracks with Aliyah and Timberland. That was the group. Right, that was that was the crew right there, but her content was still like sexualized. Some of it was, yeah, some of it was.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that is true.
SPEAKER_03I wouldn't see it as a bigger one. But she was portraying herself like that. And I know I think her and Lil' Kim had a beef too.
SPEAKER_02Really?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm hearing this for the first time. Hold up, because I was young. You know when she's in the the black, the black uh like what video was it? She's in the black, like oh, um yeah, like a shining.
SPEAKER_02I can't say in the rain.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Let me see. I think Lil' Kim or whoever dissed her, and they had like a plastic bag like floating in the yo, I was like, I don't know why.
SPEAKER_01It sounded familiar to me.
SPEAKER_03One second. Let's see. Uh versus Lil' Kim. Lil'Kin figure. No, what was it? Am I bugging?
SPEAKER_02Alright, it's the rain, super duper fly. Super duper fly. So she I'm just gonna name some of her uh songs. Uh so we got the rain, super duper fly, soccer to me. Um She's a Bitch, uh, Get Your Freak On, uh, One Minute Man, that's supposed Trina and Ludacris. That one also had Trina. That was a dope record. Um Work It. Um Work It, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I must be bugging it.
SPEAKER_04That was with Sierra, right? Lose Control? Yeah, that was dope. Lose Control and Fab Man Control. He was on uh she was on a track with Fab also, and she I think she was also on um wasn't she also on Cole's debut album? I think she did a track with him on Yeah, Nobody's Perfect. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So she yeah, she's Nobody's Perfect.
SPEAKER_03She's been on some stuff, yeah. No, yeah, no. She she's I I feel like she's a legend in her own right. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I can't believe I didn't think about it. I would have I would put her, I would put her above Nicki Minaj. 100%. Missy Elliott? 100%.
SPEAKER_02100%, yeah. Not even close, not even a thought. Yeah, Missy Elliott's like a she's at that level where you influence people. Like And that's where Jay-Z should be. He is until he starts, you know, just like Jay Z's already rappers and then he's just like, I gotta remind y'all who I am.
SPEAKER_04And not just that, but which video?
SPEAKER_02The one that didn't uncle, man. He's just talking about his heyday. That's my that's unc, bro. He be bugging, you know him, man. He wilding out. Talking about I get on the skin. Ask on, I really get on the skin. It's like, bro, that was like 20 something years ago, bro.
SPEAKER_03Like, who's gonna remember that? Like, I you know what I mean? Like, we're the generation that remember that. You know what I mean? Like, I don't think anybody behind us.
SPEAKER_02It is pretty, for like a better better words, it's actually pretty impressive that um he can still rap the way he does at his age, and I'm not that's not like a shot at him, but it's pretty good that he doesn't sound dated.
SPEAKER_01Because you know how it's like we can't do both just be hold game, bro.
SPEAKER_03I got no no the uh looking glass everywhere. The fat five, the fat five, yo, you know, stacks yo stacks sent me that. He's like, Yo, when I get back in the booth, I'm gonna I'm gonna be like this. I got one hand on my um the uh the rope in my bucket. In the luck.
SPEAKER_02There's a there's a video where somebody was rapping like that in all I know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, that's it. That's it. Oh, that was oh man. I got the one on my nun the up in my bucket. Uh um ready to look it.
SPEAKER_02So now now that you mentioning old school stuff, have you ever noticed how they dressed? They were dressing like fucking androgynous rock stars. What the fuck is that about, man?
SPEAKER_03Bro, hey, our generation dressing long ass extra L S T's, bro. So I mean, everybody has their own. I I don't even talk about fashion no more, bro, because everybody has their own thing, own generation.
SPEAKER_02Bro, some of the shit they be wearing back then, man. They look back now and be like, what the fuck were we thinking, man?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That's that's how it is. Like, oh, that was style. Like that photo of G Unit with the leather jackets. Yeah. And then somebody like his photo looks like you think the outfits look like Burlington Cofac.
SPEAKER_03Got the E Rex, bro. Oh man. Damn, bro. Oh my goodness. That is something. I got one hit my po another in my Oh man.
SPEAKER_02He can't stop laughing. No, he can't.
SPEAKER_03Stop bending the bucket. You know, he's serving time right now, I think, for life. Yeah. Yeah, he was yeah, he became a security guard. I forgot to do his name, but he became a security guard. And um I think the dude like called him like homosexual or something like that. It was something like that. And then he stabbed him. And I think the guy died.
SPEAKER_02Damn. That's kind of crazy because back then all them bars were sus as fuck anyway. It's like yo, what the fuck, man?
SPEAKER_01We're all doing it.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, somebody because they called you gay, but yeah, all them bars back then were sus as fuck anyway.
SPEAKER_01Oh man. Oh man.
SPEAKER_03They're all fucking weird. I'm gonna send that to you, and you guys, if you don't piss yourself, I know, bro. I know the video, man.
SPEAKER_02It is pretty funny. On a positive note, the cadence was there, which is impressive. Oh no.
SPEAKER_03And you know what? And it's when I kept going back, I was like, why do I like this so much, bro? Just the cadence.
SPEAKER_01It's just like the old um.
SPEAKER_03I'm not good for nothing, but I'm never bad for nothing.
SPEAKER_01That's how we ended it.
SPEAKER_03I'm not good for nothing, but I'm never bad for nothing. Oh snap.
SPEAKER_02Then the middle of little Italy, little with the thing of it is if pun said it in that cadence. I wonder how that would that would be.
SPEAKER_03Little that we know that we riddle to middle bit didn't do diddly. Yo, what? That should be one right there. What what uh lyrics can stand the test of time? If you said it back then to now. Dead in the middle of little italy, little did you know that we riddle to the or didn't do did.
SPEAKER_02Like, you know what I'm talking about like I feel like that's that that lyric is such like a it's such a difficult lyric to recite, but I don't think any a lot of people remember that at this point.
SPEAKER_03But even just like you know what I'm talking about, like let's let's go like K KRS one saying it, right? From this example, like imagine.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I got my favorite KRS line.
SPEAKER_03But you know what I'm saying? Like, imagine like uh damn, how would he say it? Um Dead in the middle of little it did we know that we riddle to middle men didn't do diddly. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Like Well, first thing first things first, KRS doesn't rap like that.
SPEAKER_03No, I'm trying to remember his cadence. How do you rap? Go ahead.
SPEAKER_02Uh he has a he has a bar that I really like. What uh okay. He goes, he said, he said first of all, and I'm like, all right, Citrin, I know you have to say that. Oh, I was just saying. No, go ahead.
SPEAKER_03Go ahead, sit. What do you gotta say? Go ahead. I got nothing to say. What do you gotta say, sir? I got nothing to say. Go ahead. I want to hear it. You know you gotta say it, bro. You know you gotta say. I got one in my pocket.
SPEAKER_02He goes, I'm not saying I'm number one. Oh, sorry, I lied. I'm number one, two, three, four, and five. That was a dope bar. I'm like, oh, that's pretty dope. That's pretty dope. Oh, la de di daddy, di daddy day. Oh, you sucker MC try to come on a play.
SPEAKER_03That was a dope bar. Okay, but yeah, you see his cadence. Yeah. But that's like actually like dropped that. I'd say Daddy Yankee. Big Daddy Kane and Rock, Rock Kim was my my he was my go. Like that's of the old school era, but then I started listening to Kane as well. I'm like, oh damn, Kane got some syllables, too. I like K R S one, but he was almost like Ice Cube where the two Yeah, that was his that was his style.
SPEAKER_02That was his style when he made the music. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean that was his approach. I'm not a I'd rather you know the lyrics. You know what I mean? Not lyrics, but you know what I mean like the flow. The flow.
SPEAKER_02So he he actually has a good flow in when he makes the music. Um, but I think you're just looking for more intricate, you know, more intricate rhymes. More uh compressed syllables, I guess you could say. That's Rock Him, that's Rock Him Launter. Exactly. That's Rock Him Launter.
SPEAKER_03Um, you know, he did a versus um I don't know if it's Rock Him. Fun Hobby dropping these muckabrees, lyrically before more bromberies, flee with the lottery, possibly despot me. Battle Scar show good. I told you more.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna let that go. Good.
SPEAKER_03Was that two? Oh man. I'm gonna just let it go. Oh, snap. Well, guys, you know what? It is my bedtime. I'm gonna have to cut this short because I have to wake up in four hours.
