We are excited, we are pumped, we love it, we appreciate your support. Busy week in sports. We had the uh NC2A men's tournament, suite 16 and Elite Eight. Um, the women's tournament is also gearing up. Um, headed into the final four almost. They're in the Elite Eight right now. Um, hockey, the NC2A uh men's hockey tournament is also in full swing. Uh the D3 tournament ended. Um baseball opening day. First full week is now complete. Um, we also have the NHL is really, really, really, really, really on fire. A little bit in the NFL, some surprises. Um, also some surprises in the NHL with a coach getting fired. Stay tuned for the episode, and we will cover it all. Um, first, Steve, how was your week, man?
SPEAKER_03My week was good. It's been uh spring or yeah, spring break going on here in North Carolina. So I've had the kids around a lot more. It's been good.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot. Hold on, yeah, maybe the 20-year-old. Yeah, Trent isn't going to like Cancun or anything.
SPEAKER_03Uh, she went to New Orleans, she went to um Urban Street. Right.
SPEAKER_00Okay, cool. All right, well, hopefully uh she comes back. Um Nick, how was your week?
SPEAKER_02My week was good. We got a uh we got a new puppy in our house, a little teacup poodle. His name's Jack. He's like four pounds, a teacup poodle. He's about this big. What's what is a teacup? Teacup poodle is because it's it's a poodle, and uh my wife is allergic to dogs, so it's got to be a poodle or some size poodle. Hey, it's better than a cat. Let's see what else what it's better than a cat. Always um my son wrapped up his 6U hockey, his first year playing ice hockey. He's walked away with a trophy. He's I've I think he's still smiling. Uh and it was so nice in Flagstaff this weekend. I mowed my win. Sorry, what did he win? He won a runner-up trophy, but still. Cool. They played there was a runner-up trophy.
SPEAKER_03Participation trophy.
SPEAKER_02No, no, run-up trophy.
SPEAKER_00No, we don't mow my grass this weekend. Participation trophy leagues. Neither is Nick. That's awesome, dude. That's so cool. I'm glad you guys made it through your first season. Um, definitely, does he like it? Gonna go back again?
SPEAKER_02He wants to go back. We got um they have a big summer tournament or big summer camp that they do here. Awesome called Shots Tots. I want to get him into that because they get uh like full gear and shit, so much fun stuff. So it should be awesome.
SPEAKER_00Good, good, good, good, man. Keep him in the sport, and just right now, you should be having fun and like, yeah, trying to get better at little stuff, but really just developing a love for the game. You know what I mean? It's uh, you know, my opinion on the whole thing with youth hockey is brutal, man. But it's like honestly, it's like unless you're playing tier one triple A, it's like really we don't we don't need this really even until really 13U. Or even like you could make arguments for Pee-Wee Major, where my son's at now. But it's yeah, man, right now, have fun. The ADM program, the American development model is fantastic. Um, that's what Hudson went through, and it was absolutely fantastic, man. Great, great, great programs. If you're in the in in the ADM, it's like their whole theory is like instead of full ice, it's like give these kids like zone games, and that way they're touching the puck. And really, what it's also doing in my mind is it's it teaches them the speed, right? Because even though they're not maybe that fast, they they have very, very little room to make a decision, so it's like picking up their decision making. It's it's it's awesome. So love it, man. I'm glad uh I'm glad he made it through the first year, and I'm excited you guys are gonna do camps. That's awesome. So stoked. Um the stuff. How was your week, buddy?
SPEAKER_01A little rough, was fighting illness all week. Lost my voice for a little bit there, but finally came around just in time for today, so I'm good to go.
SPEAKER_00Awesome. Yeah, no excuses play like a champion, right?
SPEAKER_05We don't get sick.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm just kidding. That's good, man. I'm glad you're feeling better, honestly. So um diving right into it. Um, so a little bit of news, a little bit of news in the NFL this week. Um, not really much, honestly. So it's kind of like we're gearing up, getting ready for the draft. Uh, I did see the location for the draft. I think I kind of covered this uh last week. I'm gonna just touch on it again. The the whole thing with the Pittsburgh draft is gonna be really interesting. So I just want to cover it, hit on it every week, like what they're doing. I still can't believe they're putting guys in boats, taking them across the river. I still I can't wait for that to happen. But uh, I'm sure teams are really, really, really, really getting getting all their ducks in order here, and hopefully they've you know they've got it ready to go.
SPEAKER_01So um I did see uh what's that, Brandon? I have a question for you about that. Yeah, yeah. Is that that river that they're gonna go across? Is that regularly used by other boats or anything?
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. There's I mean, there's ships that go down it, honestly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I was sure it's shipping the disruption that's gonna cause.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't so again, it's right at the point, right, where the three rivers meet, you know, the Ohio, the Susquehanna, and I'm drawing a blank on the third one right now, which is terrible for me. But um, anyway, there's it's it's a very large area, and I'm sure there's gonna be, I'm sure there's everything set up. They probably put out schedules that are like, hey, you know, for three hours on this night, there's gonna be no movement through that area. I don't know. I'm not really sure, but that's that's a that's a great question. I mean, it's a great point. I mean, honestly. So yeah. Um, anyway, uh, so we were gonna go into um there was a really cool story, okay? There was a 16-year-old kid. I don't know if you guys uh saw or heard about this, but the record for the bracket, bracketology, right, is like 49 straight picks was done by a guy uh a little while. I think they said 2018. Anyway, there was a young kid, and this is for the women's bracket, he got to 40 48. He finally lost, and uh the first game of the Sweet 16, but man, 48 picks, and they they interviewed him and they were kind of like, you know, are you you know, did you you know, pulling up chat GPT and like going through all this stuff? But uh it ended up that he just kind of was like, I've just wung it, I I was winging it. So um, yeah, I do how does your guys' brackets do? Horrible, horrible, horrible bracket, fair enough. Like, I god me, I did two, and I had one we had Duke winning. Uh, we'll get into what happened to Duke. Um, also check out our videos on TikTok. Um, like, follow, subscribe. Um, and then uh I had Arizona going all the way in the other, which is still going, but I I gotta be honest with you, dude. Michigan looks really tough. But anyway, we'll get back into that. But anyway, did you guys see the story though, or anything? It was great. I read the story that yeah, I think you sent it to us.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I saw it. Did you see it? Awesome. Like, I mean, that's just crazy to even go that far.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's I'm telling you though, it all this is always with all those weird games and weird wins and losses. Yeah, it's kind of absurd. Um Texas in the first round was sort of he's an eighth grader from Pennsylvania, so um, I think it's just I it's just a cool story, though. I just I think it's great when people because it's always that person. I always tell people like they're like, I don't know anything about sports, I don't want to, you know, do it. And I'm like, dude, telling you the people that win these things are people like you.
SPEAKER_03Well, I mean, I don't know, you know, people that work in offices, like I used to, you know, work in collections plates, and we used to do brackets like that, and the girls would do it off of what you know team logo they liked the best, and they would actually but see that's what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_00Like that is that not cool though, like um, it's just yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, come on, it'd be like, no, the lion would beat the bird, and then that's so they're gonna pick the lion, and that's they would do their brackets that way.
SPEAKER_01And there's an episode of Cheers all about that, where Sam's getting mad at the end because she keeps doing her bets that way and she keeps winning.
SPEAKER_00I like I know exactly I loved that show. Um, I just re-watched it like four years ago, too. And yeah, I know that episode, it's great. Sam gets pissed off. So um there was also another story, just so everybody knows, okay. The San Francisco 49ers, there's been all these conspiracy theories and all this stuff, and it's like, okay, you guys know how I feel about conspiracy theorists. Um there has been like multiple studies done about this whole electromagnetic field. Guys, there's not it's not that, okay. Bad luck.
SPEAKER_02And then the that's can we just say that the 49ers shouldn't have been the people to come out and say that there's nothing wrong with the 49ers?
SPEAKER_00It's a cover up. It's a cover studies done. It's oh my god.
SPEAKER_01It's a cover.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's a cover.
SPEAKER_01There's an independent investigation.
SPEAKER_00Independent investigation is nothing, mind you. So anyway, so that I wanted to throw in there. Um anything you guys got as far as like fun stories or anything going on this week.
SPEAKER_01There's some interesting local football news here in Las Vegas. Oh, cool. Let's hear it. 30 high schools have pulled out of their division and are playing independent.
SPEAKER_00You're talking about Bishop Gorman?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I listen, if you don't like it, yeah, don't play. Bishop Gorman, here's the thing. I feel Bishop Gorman doesn't need the other schools. They're good. They can make a schedule, they're fine. So, yeah, they're fine. It I remember this uh going on, Steve. You probably remember this, De La Salle. Remember their long run. They had schools that were in their so-called conference that they were like, Oh, we don't want to play them. De La Salle was like, Cool, see ya, we'll play nationally, we're good. And so it's like, okay. I feel like they think they did something, but it's like, you didn't. You didn't. People are kids are kids are still gonna want to come to Bishop Gorman because they're funded, because they have a great program. It's always like the I I don't know. I feel like it's jealousy, man. It's it's a great story, Brandon. Good thing to bring up.
SPEAKER_01I don't know about jealousy. I think it's just you know, trying to get yeah, fair competition. You got these smaller schools, smaller public schools that get scheduled against them, they just don't get a chance, you know, they're gonna lose every time.
SPEAKER_00Neither does neither does Alcorn State when they play Ohio State. So I mean it's like I happens, yeah. Scheme better? I don't know. You know, go into a weaker division. I I you know, I I don't know. It's it's like those we deal with it too. And I remember uh my kids' hockey team scheduled a game against a mole team. Okay, the mole teams reach out, um, for those that don't know mole, it's mohl, it's modified house leagues. Okay, so they look for games, and for whatever reason, and they try to just get games where they can, which is cool, awesome. But it's like, why are you scheduling games against a double A or AAA team? And so it's like I remember my my kids' team was beating this team like 17 to nothing, and it was like they started just skating and passing and like passing it to them, and by the like with like five minutes left in the third, they were literally trying to teach the kids how to how to play. It turned into a cool moment on the ice, the parents up in the stands are screaming like that's a penalty. No, it wasn't a penalty. Your kid just can't skate. Your kid ran into our kid and fell down. That's not that's roughing. It's like I'm sitting here looking at this guy like oh my god, this guy's an idiot. Anyway, don't schedule those games if you you you don't if you don't know what's gonna it's like you don't know what's gonna happen. No, oh go ahead, Brennan. Sorry.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's a learning No those 30 teams are like meeting to figure out a new schedule to play just amongst themselves, but yeah, it's and that's great.
SPEAKER_00Do it. Yeah, because like I s like you think Gorman, who's like usually ranked in the top ten across the United States, isn't gonna have a hard time getting games. They're not, they're good.
SPEAKER_01No, they'll still they'll be fine.
SPEAKER_02All these schools are the same size.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's uh they're all public schools. Bishop Gorman's a private school, private Catholic school.
SPEAKER_00Is that right? Sorry, Brent, is that right? Yeah. Catholic. Yeah, yep. Yeah, like we have so many private schools here, and so it's like you got prep hockey and stuff. So it's you know, remember I was telling you that was one of the things with like Nichols School, like you had a Amherst team that was that was ranked 35th in the nation. This was my son's age, which is the 2014s, and they were ranked 35th in the country, but they like tried to become Nichols School, so it's like the kids are gonna go to Nichols school, and it's like, I don't know, it's not terrible, it's like 29,000 is the tuition a year, which I feel like isn't bad for a private school. I I don't know though, and so but anyway, it just caused a lot of grief. But that's you have like these different divisions up here, you know what I mean? Like, that's that's kind of the difference, I guess. I don't know, but Bishop Gorman's yeah, they're a powerhouse. Think yeah, I I I would want to play them. I'd want my kids to sack up and play these kids. Like, let's go get a dub, go beat him, go upset them, get on ESPN.
SPEAKER_03If they have a team to beat them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, sure. And I guess. Otherwise, you don't want to go and play and get humiliated. Well, it's also a good like thing. It's a good lesson. Okay, this is how good we are, this is how bad we are. True. I don't know. I can look at it from both angles, but great story, Brandon. Thanks for bringing that up. That's a good story. Yeah, that's great news. So um, all right, so let's get into it. First, we'll start with NC2A hockey. Um what a great we got a great frozen four. Okay, so we've got it is going to be Denver University surprise, surprise against Michigan. That is gonna be an absolutely amazing game, and then again, you've got Wisconsin that is going to play UND, North Dakota, the UND Sue. Um, all these guys are absolutely storied hockey programs, all of them. So um yeah, these are all like Denver University, I think has uh the most national championships between the four schools, probably followed by Michigan, then UND in Wisconsin. Um I mean DU is uh they're just a unit. So um let's see. So DU beat uh Cornell uh five to nothing. Then they went on to beat Western Michigan 6-2 to get into the frozen four. Um they beat Western Michigan, who beat uh Minnesota State 3-1, and then of course lost to DU. Uh Michigan's road went like this. Michigan beat Bentley 5-1, and then um underneath them was Minnesota Duluth beat Penn State. I I was kind of surprised by that. I thought Penn State might, I thought they should have beat him, but again, Minnesota Duluth is also a great school. Michigan went on to beat Minnesota Duluth 4-3 in an absolutely amazing game, and that is how Michigan reached the frozen four. Um, Wisconsin, Wisconsin beat Dartmouth 5-1, who played Michigan State, who beat Yukon 2-1 in a great game. Um, Wisconsin then went on to beat Michigan State 4-3. Um overtime. Yes, Steve, thank you. It was an overtime. Uh, that was a great game. I watched the highlights of that one. And then uh UND's road went like this. Uh UND beat uh Merrimack. Great school, had a great season. They beat them three to nothing. Um they went on to play uh Quinepiac five to two, who just won a national championship, I think, two years ago, the year before last. Um North Dakota UND Sue went on to beat them five to nothing. So UND has not given up a goal. What? In their last two, yeah, two games. They have not given up a goal yet, and they will face Wisconsin, and then of course you got Michigan and D U. Listen, I my personal opinion on this one is I one D U is still a wagon, dude. Like they, I don't, I don't know. Uh Michigan's a great school, great team. Um boy, buddy. I I I don't know. I really don't. I think I just think du, I got a feeling about DU. Also, I like uh UND, but at the same time, it's like Wisconsin, the way that they're kind of winning some games. It's like, ooh boy. So it sounds like you have no idea who's gonna win. I I'm taking no, I'm taking UND and uh DU in the uh national championship game.
SPEAKER_03Okay, and then who do you think is gonna win those two?
SPEAKER_00I think it'll be DU again. You think yeah, blowout or close? I what's that? No, I think it'll be close. I I I think all these games are gonna be somewhat close. I'd be surprised if there's a blowout. They're all great teams. They're I mean, listen, it here's the thing with this too. I feel like it could go either way, guys. Steve, what do you think?
SPEAKER_03Uh I mean, I I would go with NDU on this one, but uh from one of the from what I have seen of it, yeah, I I would go with them to take it all the way. Um, but your university you are absolutely correct. It could be Denver. I mean, it you know, okay. Um, but I I'm gonna go with NDU on that one.
SPEAKER_00You wait UND, you mean North Dakota. UND, University of North Dakota. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew what you meant, but yeah, the the fighting too, it'd be great to see them raise a banner again. So uh Nick, Brandon, you guys got anything?
SPEAKER_02I lived in Denver, oh outside of Denver for shit, 10 years. Um, DU hockey is a lot of fun, and their fan base is statewide. Um 100%. Yeah. I would have to root for DU just because I live there. Uh I think it's gonna be a great game, regardless. I don't think I think there's gonna be a blow, one more blowout left in these last three games. I don't know which one. Really? Somebody's gonna get blown out. Yep. You think so? One blowout, two close games. Man.
SPEAKER_00I like oh like I I like the I like the passion, but I disagree. I just don't I think they're gonna be close. But at the same time, you're probably right. Stuff, what do you think, man?
SPEAKER_01I think, yeah, I think you know, Denver's gonna take it all. But I think they're taking it all. Yeah, I think they're gonna play Wisconsin in the finals.
SPEAKER_00You think it'll be Wisconsin, though. That's what I meant like with my prediction or my my pick. It could eat I'm not surprised if it's wrong. Like, yeah, Wisconsin, absolutely. I'm pretty I'm pretty positive about my pick with Denver, but UND and Wisconsin, I think that's gonna be a great hockey game. Definitely. So I'm I'm excited to uh I'm excited to watch it. It'll it'll it'll be one I'm gonna try to get here. So um but yeah, great picks. Um, I like I said, I really like I I just like DU. I don't know, but like Steve said everybody's picks, they anybody, anybody can win this thing. They're all great hockey teams. Um I'm excited about it. So I seem to be the one man out on this, though, on who they're picking. That's okay. Steve, you're probably that means you're probably gonna be right.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh Brent, real quick, or uh Nick, sorry, have you ever been have you been to their arena? Like du has their own hockey arena, so it's like a yeah, and it's seats like only like what 6,000 or 7,000 or something like that, and it's it's it's great, it's fun to watch.
SPEAKER_02So I have I've been inside the building, but not during a game. Um, I've only ever we they used to have gatherings at like locals bars, you know, and it was and you would go to the local bar and it was cool. Everyone was in jerseys, every television was to the get that game. If you wanted a different Like, oh, can we watch the you know the players championship with PGA on this TV? They're like, Yeah, absolutely. Tomorrow leave. Um that's awesome.
SPEAKER_00I love it. I just love that kind of stuff. That's great. Awesome. So um, anyway, with that said, we're gonna keep it in the in college, we're gonna keep it in college, and let's get into the elite eight. NC2A men's basketball, elite eight is complete. We have the sweet 16, then the elite eight. Um, I I'm just gonna dive right into this. Um, we have a video up on TikTok about it. Listen, I Connecticut. Almost a buzzer beater to beat Duke. Duke had a 19-point lead, everybody. Dude. At the half. So, online was is this the biggest comeback, most historic comeback in Elite Eight history to get into the Final Four, or is this the worst, most embarrassing collapse?
SPEAKER_03I don't like the word embarrassed because it would be the best comeback because honestly, Duke, if you watch them from the beginning from when the tournament started, they outshot him. They outshot them though, percentage-wise. That's what's crazy.
SPEAKER_00Duke was just looking like they were gonna lose eventually in a game. That's that's what it I feel the same way. They there was way too many times that they were behind shots, Steve.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I don't know. I just felt like they were gonna lose eventually. I thought they were gonna lose to St. John's when I was watching the game.
SPEAKER_00That's we did talk about that. Like, there's been a couple of games where it was like, oh man, dude, their first game. Yeah, right. Yeah, Brandon's shaking his head. He's like, Yeah, their first game.
SPEAKER_03It just didn't feel very dominant this year, when especially when they were playing, uh, and their their field goal percentage was was just not good.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I think look at it though, and it's like Duke outshot them what four 53, I think, to 48 percent, right? But if you look at the shots, like how many they took, Duke took like 20 something less shots, I think, but they had 13 turnovers to Yukon's only four. I feel like there's that's where it's at, and like Yukon's defense was just dude, it was insane. Look at that. You can see it on that last play.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you can see it on that last play. I mean, why they didn't why they were felt so pressured to get that ball across half. I mean, I know you got what eight seconds to get it across, but 10 seconds, I think.
SPEAKER_00It's a half back.
SPEAKER_02That's a long time. Still, like I agree. You take a timeout, you take the foul, they're gonna foul you. You're winning, like you know what I mean. Like they were up at that point. Take the foul, bro.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so UConn's shooting, they only shot 43, guys. Duke shot 52, they shot 40 from three, yukon 21 percent. So you look at the stats, assist 17-16 for Duke, rebounds 30-26 for Duke, offensive rebounds 11-8 for UConn Steals 7-4 UConn blocks 8-6 UConn turnovers 13-4. Duke. Listen to this. Duke took a total of 48 shots. Okay, UConn 64. 64.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_00Duke just what an underwhelming performance is kind of what it comes down to. I mean, it really was. Yeah. And then a great video came out. Um a great video of uh Braylon Mullins who hit the final shot. And it's absolutely great. If you can look it up, look up uh, you know, Braylon Mullins, you know, almost Buzzerbeater's mom's reaction in the stance. It's it's pretty great. So um anyway, what I I just think what a game, though. I mean, it's like you talk about a tail of two halves, and it's just like, oh my god, this was insane. And it's been a great tournament, guys. Like it I feel like it's been a great tournament. Um, Michigan, again, steamrolled an opponent in the Elite Eight. Um, Arizona, same thing. One by 15. They're steamrolling right through this. And and then you got Illinois uh knocking out the Cinderella, Iowa. So I gotta tell you, man, uh my two picks in my two brackets was Duke and Arizona. I I don't obviously Duke's done. I don't know if I think Michigan is I anybody if if I don't see Michigan losing.
SPEAKER_03I me neither. I mean, well, I mean, when you yeah, I don't see him losing. I mean, they could this could very easily come down to uh Illinois and Michigan.
SPEAKER_00I man, I'm telling you, I and I what about Yukon? You don't think Yukon's gonna beat Illinois? No, I don't. Okay, all right. So Steve has made his stand.
SPEAKER_03Well, now that Duke's out, I mean I gotta go figure out what where the bracket goes from here. I know it's completely championship game, Steve.
SPEAKER_00Sorry, Brandon. What do you think?
SPEAKER_01As far as that first game talked about, I think I think Duke just outplayed themselves. I think they came out with hot with a lot of energy, and then they just burned themselves out in the second half. It just underwhelming, right?
SPEAKER_00Like, and the turnovers. I mean, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, just the opposite of what they did the first two games before that, where they were they came out sluggish and then finally picked it up in the second half, right? I wonder what the points off turnovers were.
SPEAKER_02Oh man, I that's but regardless.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, yeah. I absolutely I'll I can I can dive into that real quick.
SPEAKER_01Um brackets toast. So at this point, between Arizona and Michigan, right? Um I'm leaning towards Arizona, really. Over Michigan?
SPEAKER_00Yep. You think it's gonna be okay.
SPEAKER_01Any reason, or are you gonna have a fair? I think it'll be Arizona and Yukon.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03Now I don't know how accurate this is because this is according to the AI. 20 to 7 on turnover.
SPEAKER_00I just got the same thing, Steve. So I if you think about it, that right there almost eliminates their their lead. Yeah. Okay, so you got that, but yeah, I got the same thing. 20 to 7 off turnovers.
SPEAKER_02So I mean that's a you can't play you can't play that sloppy of basketball this late in the tournament and expect anything good to happen.
SPEAKER_00The lack of shots, like Yukon's just firing it. And uh granted, it shot choice. I I understand is a whole analytic and very important, and I get that, but I'm like, it's just kind of man, like just lackluster, right? Like Steve said. So, yeah. So, Brandon, you know Yukon and Arizona. Yeah, I think it's gonna be Michigan and Yukon. Steve's got Illinois, Michigan, and Michigan.
SPEAKER_02Okay, Nick. Um I think Michigan has the best defense in the nation, and they show it every game. Like 100%. It's incredible. And we've talked we've said this before, and it's a known uh statement that defense wins championships. Um, I think it's going to be Michigan and Yukon, and it's Michigan's game to lose.
SPEAKER_00It's Michigan, okay.
SPEAKER_02Um, but I would also like to point out how good the Big Ten looked in this tournament this year. You still got Michigan, you still got Illinois, you used to have Iowa. Um, Big Ten had a pretty good showing in basketball this year, and that's not usually the case.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we do we should ask Ohio State how they feel about two Michigan teams being in the uh final four and frozen four. Oh man. Good times. Um I know a lot of Ohio State fans. They're all I love all the Ohio State fans I know. What's that?
SPEAKER_02I said for all our Ohio fans, oh H. You're an idiot.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm just gonna. Oh, yo, I was now they do do that everywhere you go. It's just like uh what's another what's another oh god, Buffalo. Hey, wherever you are, and you'll hear somebody go, hey, hey, hey, they go back and forth. It's like Buffalo has a thing.
SPEAKER_02Um, there's gotta be it's like shaving a haircut on Roger Rabbit.
SPEAKER_00Shape and a haircut for you. Yes. Oh my gosh, Roger Rabbit. What a great movie! Oh my god, we could do a whole other podcast on movies. Ask Brandon.
SPEAKER_01You have no idea, just on Roger Rabbit, the way it was made. You have no idea.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Steve and I or uh Brandon and I did that for all like hours, hours and hours and hours and hours and hours. So, anyway, all right, so Final Four set. You got our picks. Let us know what yours are. Don't forget to like, follow, and subscribe. Um, we love all the support that we've been getting. We like the comments. More comments, man. Let us know how we're doing, let us know what you think, let us know what you want us to cover, um, so on and so forth. Like, uh, today we are gonna start our top five at the end of this uh broadcast. We are gonna do um a new series of top fives. Um, tonight is gonna be top five worst fan bases. So um judging them on overall, like uh fan behavior, um, how many arrests are in the fan base, um, kind of going down that type of criteria.
SPEAKER_03Um that was a rough one to do, too.
SPEAKER_00It it was not easy, man. Like, I really struggled. I had to keep it to the uh the four majors here in the United States because uh it you start going out and you just see, and it's like so many fan bases here in America I've I've witnessed and multiple times with the amount of sporting events that I've gone to. Um, it's and it's hard. It's hard. And when you know, I know so many people, I've met so many people in my travels um around this country, and so it's like that also you know is hard. It's like, man, yeah, that fan base sucks, but it's like I have so many friends that are involved with it. But anyway, um moving on, like I said, there wasn't much in the NFL. Uh they're just kind of getting getting stuff together for the draft.
SPEAKER_02It's like uh we had a coach firing, didn't we?
SPEAKER_00What's that? Did we have a coach firing in the NHL we did, which we were gonna cover next. Oh, okay. What was I thinking of? Never mind. As you were, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03As you were, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, if you guys have something on the NFL, great. Let's bring it up. Um, no, I thought I had something. No, I'm I'm thinking old last week. You know, it's again, teams are still, I think at this point it's it's it's just slow. They're getting ready for the draft. It's you know, I've been looking at some mock drafts.
SPEAKER_03That's about have you? How do they look the lot most of them haven't changed since about a month and a half ago? Um, except for one in the top five, which was now a lot of people are predicting the Cardinals to pick a quarterback instead of an offensive lineman. That's changed on a lot of brackets.
SPEAKER_00You know, oh it's just not who they want to take. Uh kid out of Alabama, Ty. Yeah, Ty Simpson. Yeah. I it's not a bad choice. No, because when you have a great combine like he did, he had a freaking amazing combine. He looked great. It's gonna raise your draft stock, but it's like I just don't want to see these teams. Like, I I still don't disagree with the Raiders getting rid of Geno Smith. I think it's stupid to throw this kid in right off the bat. Um, and I hope they don't with what they've picked up. I I really do. Um yeah, I feel like Kubiak's smarter than that, but anyway, that's I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm a bullet I'm a firm firm believer that they quarter the rookie quarterback should sit at least a year or two. I yeah, just to follow behind somebody in the end, you know, that's been in the NFL for a while.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, and let your let the develop the rest of your team while that's happening. It's not like he's not getting reps. Okay, he's getting reps every day. He's getting reps, getting reps, getting reps, learning the systems, going through the offense that that coach has. That's the other thing is the continuity with the coach. You gotta that coach has to stay. Don't just there's too many owners that just get rid of coaches. Ah, two years, fuck this guy, he's out. It's like what are we doing? Like, give him a chance to develop the kid, you know, and build a team. I think every coach should get at least five years, get a draft, a couple of drafts, especially when they're rebuilding, is what I mean. Okay, let him go, let them build something.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean it's been two-year stuff and then firing a coach is it's one year, two years.
SPEAKER_02It's just it's it's an emotional reaction, and it's and it's bad. Especially when the coach isn't like I don't know how many times, and this is again speaking from my fan base, the Bears. I don't know how many times a coach is there and then they fire or they trade off their quarterback and then they draft a quarterback the following draft, and it's like they still don't have any of the pieces in place to make that quarterback successful. And then they fire the coach, like sorry, you're gone. I'm like, but it's not his fault, Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_00Look what he's working with, and that's the problem sometimes with with bad ownership, and they get impatient and they get emotional, and it's like, well, now you just now you just look like another idiot fan that is you know what I mean. It's like stop, like let the guy go, let him let him go. Yeah, let him go. Let him, it's you're gonna lose for a couple of years. That's just a fact. I think that's one of the reasons why the rebuild, like in San Jose in hockey, has gone so well. It's why the Golden State Warriors in the NBA were able to build a championship team because the owners were like, do your thing. You've got years.
SPEAKER_05Yes, yep, you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_00That's how the Bulls were built, the Chicago Bulls back in the day. That's how they were built. One GM, the Boston Red Sox. You could just go on and on, anyway. Um, getting off track, but uh yeah. So um excited to see what the draft's gonna bring. It's gonna that's gonna be a fun week. So, Brandon, you have anything else to add?
SPEAKER_01Saying um, going off of that, you know, you hire a coach, let him give him a chance to do his thing, let him give him a chance to build it. You can't do it in one year.
SPEAKER_00No, it's it's just can't do it in two years. Honestly, it's it it's a freaking like four to six year process, guys. If you want to do it right, again, I you know, right now I'm just using the sharks because like look at what they're doing. They're I mean, they're a year ahead. They weren't expected to go back to the playoffs until really next year, and they still probably won't, but it's like they're letting Mike Greer and God, I swear that GM does not miss. Um, Montreal's doing a great job. It's like, you know, all you've got uh Columbus is doing a great job, a little bit slower. Um Buffalo is finally realizing their that's been a playoff team, honestly, for three years now. They just they haven't gelled for whatever reason. It was just like almost just really slow. But that GM, the well, can't really say that with Buffalo because they've gone through a few GMs.
SPEAKER_02But anyway, it'd be fun to watch the Rangers rebuild. Yep, that's after their garage sale of players.
SPEAKER_00And it's I have a feeling it's gonna go into next season, but we'll get into that once we hit NHL. Um, with that, we've had our first week, first complete week, major league baseball. Sorry, give me um first week in Major League Baseball. Pretty some good baseball, some bad baseball, some rough pitching. Rough pitching. Um it just shows you, listen, these starting pitchers, they are not ready coming out of spring training. They still are loosening up, teams are still getting, you know, kind of loose and into gear. But you know, you look at like Logan Webb, Paul Skeens, they just got lambasted. Paul Skeens didn't even make it out of the first first inning, etc. So um, what do you guys think after the first week of baseball? First full week. I have a surprising reaction to the abs.
SPEAKER_03I kind of like it. Throw something different into the game. The all those where they where the the um the catcher can yeah uh challenge the the there's been a lot of them where it's like they do it a lot now, and it's most of the time it comes out and into the catcher's favor.
SPEAKER_00Did you see the one um in Cincinnati? Uh I don't know. Oh god, how did you not see this? This um both sides was wrong. One at bat, three challenges, lost them all.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you know, I did say that it was that they were pitching down low.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and then the catcher challenges it, loses. Then this batter checks his swing, all he's asking is to check down at first, check, you know, rings him up or safe, no, no swing. You know what I mean? Like that's all they're asking is just look down to first base, ask the ump at first. That's all we're asking. And he refused to do it and threw the guy out. His ego, I think, got a little hurt there. And when these guys' egos get hurt, they get emotional, and I think that um's gonna get uh he's gonna get fined. I mean, it's like why it and the reason is is it looks like I I think I think he held up. I don't think he went. If you look at the video, look it up. I encourage you to look it up and leave an opinion on it. Um, we're gonna a lot of these short clips will be on TikTok. Let us know or go to YouTube and let us know. I you know, I I think it was a b I think I don't think he swung and he rung him up, and the guy wanted him to ask.
SPEAKER_03It's it's a these umpires are taking as a personal offense to him instead of as a challenge. Not all of them, don't not all no, not all of them, but some of them on there they really are. I mean, instead of it just going, you know, going with the game and and taking it as a challenge to get these pros right, they some of them are just taking it as a personal challenge.
SPEAKER_00He was having a really bad night. And it's what's funny too, Steve. I'll tell you this the Reds broadcast predicted it. No way literally said in the pregame with this um, um, they predicted it. And so it's like, oh, this guy's got a reputation. And so it's like, this isn't this isn't good. This is like Angel Hernandez from a couple years ago. Nick, what do you what do you got, buddy?
SPEAKER_02Uh I was just gonna talk about Paul Skeens, how he went oh his current ERA 67.5.
SPEAKER_00That's what happens when you only have one outing, buddy.
SPEAKER_02I know, I know, I know. But I mean he only threw 37 pitches. Yeah, you had his horrible start. Uh the Cubs started Matthew Boyd, who was supposed to be who was an all-star, and he made uh six wait. Oh, yeah, he went three or four innings and his allowed six runs, just bad pitching from big names in the league to start. But we also had uh, did you see some of the rookies? We had uh I I highlighted four rookies that uh like Carson Benge of the Mets, Homered in his first MLB hit, added two walks and two stolen bases. Um Kevin that's a good game.
SPEAKER_00That's a great game for anybody, but it's a it's a fun, it's a really fun first. Wasn't there a note our series? His parents were in the stands, it was awesome. I know, yeah. What Nick's talking about was great. His his parents are in the stands, and it's like they're crying. It's like what a moment.
SPEAKER_02Dude, for your first hit to be a dinger, like that that's something that not a lot of people can do. First at bat, first hit.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Um, Will Clark, the San Francisco Giants did it against Nolan Ryan.
SPEAKER_02Okay, that's bigger.
SPEAKER_00And it was a grand slam. Really? In Houston on the road, in the Astrodome. Will Clark. Wow. San Francisco Giants hit a grand slam in his first at bat off of Nolan Ryan. Jeez. That's a great one. And there's been a few of these. There's been a few that have done this, but it it's every time, I don't care how many of them there have been. It's it's an incredible moment, Nick. It's yeah, it was a great one. Keep going.
SPEAKER_02What else did you have? We got Kevin uh Kevin McGovern. Of the Tigers, four hits in his MLB debut, only the 25th player in baseball history to do it. Justin Crawford of the Phillies, two hits in his first two at bats. And then Cardinals have uh JJ Weatherholt. Yeah. He was the leadoff hitter for the Cardinals in his debut. First Cardinal rookie to do, first Cardinal rookie to bat leadoff in since 1949, Annie Homer.
SPEAKER_00Annie Homered, yeah. I remember reading that one. That umpire was CB Buckner. Um six of his strike calls were overturned. Um also overturned two strikeout calls on consecutive pitches. Yeah. So eight. Eight total calls challenged in all. Yeah, anyway. So the ABS system is I I'm a big fan of it. I always always have it. Brandon, you and I talked about it, right? Yeah. So I we we were we were talking about it in the offseason, and I think it it's it's a great thing. What do you think, Brandon, of the whole the whole week, first week? Great week of baseball. I mean, there was a lot of great stuff.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think it's always fun. Like one of my my personal highlight was the game a game between the Yankees and the Giants. Yeah, the Giants or uh Yankees. I forgot what player it was, hit a home run and dented an ambulance.
SPEAKER_00Oh, out in uh yeah, it's out in uh left field. Yeah. Uh Giants, whatever truck for uh whatever ambulance company that comes in. Yeah, yeah, just nailed the roof. Back in that door right there because it goes right out into the embarkator or yeah, whatever that road is now.
SPEAKER_01So but going back to the umpire thing, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like baseball has always been the one where always uh the only one with the issue of uh umpires taking things personally compared to other sports.
SPEAKER_00It yeah, I mean it it's weird that I'm trying to think of like other issues. I I I mean I know I've seen NBA refs flip out on people on on players, same in the NHL. Like NHL refs just basically tell them, you know, shut the bleep up and go. Yeah, it's happening, but like I think it's more prevalent in baseball. But it's more more egos in baseball, right? Like that's what you're saying. It's like you know, I'm not wrong, you're wrong. It's like the arguing that happens is also different in Major League Baseball. Like, they give those the the managers have a lot of leeway, don't they?
SPEAKER_01Like, I mean, that's always fun to see the manager out there yelling. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00I remember um I think it was '94 when the when they remember when they first started doing interleague baseball, how cool it was. Um, I went to a game against the Seattle Mariners at Candlestick Park in San Francisco um with my dad, brother, and sister. Um, place was packed. Back then they played, you know, in multi-purpose stadiums, so there's like 60,000 people there. Griffey was playing. Randy Johnson was on the mound. Rich Aurelia hit a bomb off of uh Randy Johnson. Place went nuts. Um, I remember Ken Griffey Jr. during a pitching change. There's these two huge white dudes with like just giant bellies and their shirts off. And Ken Griffey Jr. was always great at this. He's pointing to him and being like, you know, heads and you know, he's like, work out, you guys need to work out. And so he's giving them a hard time, right? And they are Alex Alex Cora. Oh, yeah, they're of course they're drinking their hands. That's their workout. We sat out, you sat bleacher bum, bleacher seats were always awesome. Me and my buddies, we used to go and uh Steve was part of this. We'd go get five dollar bleacher tickets, five bucks anyway. Um, but anyway, so Alex Cora for Seattle is having an amazing night. He's three for three or four for four at this point, something like that. Anyway, he hits a ground ball, gets thrown out at first, right? Here comes Lupinella.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, I haven't heard that name in so long.
SPEAKER_00Alex Cora is up in the umpire's face. You've got 52,000 Giants fans just going, like, you know, booing him, and like it's very it's getting loud. It's like the place is going nuts. Alex Cora, you're gone, throws him out. Place goes nuts. Lou Pinella's like halfway out. He's at like the pitcher's mound when Alex Cora gets thrown out of the game. Lou Piniella's path goes backward. Just going nuts. Umpire throws him out of the game. See, a crowd loses their minds. This place goes nuts. It is always electric, like Brandon said, when that happens, right? Yeah, it's a it's absolutely amazing. So um, yeah, it's great. Great part of baseball. But at the same time, Brandon's right, it's their egos get hurt worse than any other sport, as far as refs go. I agree, bud. Anyway, sorry about the theatrics. So, anyway, with that, uh what's that seat? It was a good story. Yeah, it's it's it was a fun game. The experience was amazing. We were sitting in the right field bleachers, which uh back then they called the family pavilion. So it was like alcohol free, but anyway, they were also always cheap seats, and it was I always I like sitting in the bleachers. Steve, you and I sat what like second row down the first baseline. That one yeah, the giant scan. That was a double, it was a double header, right? Double header, yeah. Yeah, daytime double header. Yeah, it's when we went to go see your dad in the city. Yeah, I remember I wonder what team I can't remember, but anyway. Um, with that, we'll move on from baseball. We'll get into hockey. Let's get into the meat and potatoes, guys. Here we go. Another week in the books. Boy, did we have some teams get on a slide and go. Um listen, I I'm gonna say right now, I listen, I grew up, always been a sharks fan. Um, they're they're they're not done. I know they're not done, but man, they slid hard. Um LA is still is somehow in this thing. Um, the bottom of the Western Conference is so weak. I mean, I don't know if it's necessarily weak because they're great teams, but it's like, dude, it's just not. They're just there's some teams that are just rough. So um Nashville Predators were doing really well, and then now this last week they've they're they were sliding. Yeah, now they've lost three in a row. They they climbed up though. What were they like? They were in like seventh, I think, and then boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, they climbed up. That's one thing about the West, guys, is it's so wide open. Um, you've got Vancouver's done. Chicago, they're five games out with eight to play. They're done. Let's just call it what it is. Calgary, Calgary, they've got nine games and they're at 70 points, which puts them three and a half games back. I think they're done. Yeah. Um, St. Louis, I think, is still in it. They've won four in a row. They're only four points out, um, which is two games, two wins. San Jose, they finally won one. If they get hot, they gotta they just have to win. I'm telling you right now, San Jose's only shot is if they really win out. They're gonna have to win what, six of well, here's what they sorry, let me take this back. They have 11 games. They've got two and three games in hand and all on almost everybody, so they've got that going for them. Yeah, um, Winnipeg, I think, is is gonna I would say the most capable team out of all these is probably Winnipeg. You know, they've got Connor Hellenbuck, they've got a playoff for Hoster, really.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't know. Um, I would take the Blues over Winnipeg, though. I mean, on chances of still making it.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, okay. I mean, it's uh the blue I think the blues are just a stronger team. I've they're finally after that after their after the trades, yeah. After their trade, they're finally starting to click.
SPEAKER_00I you know what? I don't hate that pick. You're you're right. They're yeah, they're not they're win, they've won four in a row as of now, and we're recording everybody. This will come out on in a couple days, but it's and they've won seven out of their last ten games. Edmonton's finally winning. Um, and real quick, let's just touch on the fact Vegas has lost three in a row, but holy shit, they fired Bruce Cassidy. I mean, let's let's get into this real quick, okay.
SPEAKER_01Brandon, go all right, and we're in Brandon Michael just disappeared. Now, welcome to the stuff show. All right. Now he's back. Okay, so Vegas has lost the last six of their last seven games.
SPEAKER_00Didn't they fire their coach?
SPEAKER_01No, but I'm saying I'm going to reasons why. Oh so they've lost six of their last seven games. They've gone from first in the Pacific to third now. Something had to be done.
SPEAKER_02I and so dude, this close, this close to playoffs with starting with. I think it's the stupidest thing.
SPEAKER_01I it's crazy with only they only have eight games left, so it's pretty crazy. Something else happened.
SPEAKER_02That's it makes it makes you think, doesn't it? It really does make you think that something else had to had to have.
SPEAKER_00Well, they had an argument.
SPEAKER_03There was something that yeah, there had to be something going on in the the the office because that is just too close to the playoffs to be firing somebody.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's something else there. Uh probably won't ever know, and that's fine. I you guys know I feel about stuff like that. It's uh it's not the media's business, it's not the fan base's business. It is if that stays in-house, that stays in-house. It's a great thing about hockey. It's like yeah, sorry, but your opinion doesn't matter. We handled this in-house, it's done. We get to talk about it. It's just I yeah, eight games before the playoffs, and oh John John Tortorella. Or who's the coach? Isn't it Tortorella?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's how they hired. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I'm sure Mitch Martner is pumped. There's just I I that's that's a heck of a pick. I a decision, you know. John Tortorella is is a great coach, but in acquired taste. Yeah, I mean I love torts.
SPEAKER_01Now, this time of year, I mean, it's not like you're gonna have many people to pick from. No, but Brandon But he did, he was an assistant on the USA men's hockey team this year.
SPEAKER_00That's great. I'm still, but I'm saying, like, why not go with like just your assistant coach? Something that the players know. That's my thing. Yeah, I mean, there had to have been talks prior to the firing with this dude. Here's the thing, too, is like you talk about chemistry, right? On the ice, on the court, on the field, whatever. Same thing with coaches, dude. Like, this is this is professional level, you got egos. It's not as bad in hockey by far. But here's the thing: you gotta have chemistry with the coach as well. That's that's what good teams do, right? The good teams can get behind this coach. Tortorella is a very, very acquired taste and a great coach. Never won a cup. No, no, he didn't.
SPEAKER_02Huh? He won a cup with Tampa in 04. Tortorella did?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's one of the toxins because there he's bringing an actual Stanley Cup to the win.
SPEAKER_00Oh, 04. Sorry, man. Yeah, my fine. Um I didn't know that. I recently. Oh, thank you for the correction. Yeah, I yep. Yeah, I just looked him up. And it was just funny because you know they had to be a few. They beat Calgary in 04, I believe, right? Yeah, that's when they beat Calgary because I remember San Jose lost in that conference final. Um yeah, okay. But here's the thing either way, man, I I still am like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01No, it's also weird just that they didn't go with an assistant because they only hired him until the end of this season.
SPEAKER_02It's literally it's an eight-game contract, or well, eight-game playoffs contract.
SPEAKER_01It's the eight games and the playoffs.
SPEAKER_02So when it's such a win or LTC, Vegas.
SPEAKER_00I'm taking Vegas in a first round loss.
SPEAKER_03Um what happens if they don't make the playoffs, though? Can you imagine that that how that off that front office is gonna look explode?
SPEAKER_00Here's the funny thing. Here, here's the funny thing is that's a possibility.
SPEAKER_03It is, yeah, and if that happens, it's gonna be an implosion in that front office.
SPEAKER_01It'll only be the second year they didn't make the playoffs.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_02Was Cassidy the first coach of the Vegas Niners?
SPEAKER_00No, it's like the fourth.
SPEAKER_02He was the third. Third? Yeah, we'll see. Like, I'm have you ever seen a coach fired that won a Stanley Cup three years ago?
SPEAKER_00I haven't. Not in this situation. This is crazy, right? Like, that's why I'm saying it's like there's gotta be something else behind the scenes that happened at some point. It's like this, I think something years down the road will come out. This is yeah, guys, this is crazy.
SPEAKER_01He writes a book or something, we'll find out. Who knows?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Anyway, moving to the Eastern Conference, real quick. Let's just look at take a quick look here. Um, Buffalo also went on a little slide here, guys. Uh, Tampa still has one game in hand, they are tied at 98 points. Um, Carolina.
SPEAKER_03Canadians have the hurricanes number, man. Last two times the Canadians have played Carolina, they've beat their ass.
SPEAKER_00Uh, dude, the Habs are a wagon right now. Look at them. They've won five straight, buddy. They like they're not out of the top seed. Like, they're they're winning games. They still have nine left. They're only four points behind the three-way tie at 98. Um, yeah, I think it's it's you got Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Montreal is coming on hot at the right time of year. Remember, we always talk about that. In hockey, the right time of year, you get hot, you roll, you go flying into the playoffs. Let's go. So um uh the Isles have won a couple in a row, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um that eastern that eastern wildcard race is still so tight.
SPEAKER_00That's great. And they're that you got really good teams in there. I mean, it's you've even got Washington that's that's won a couple of games. They're trying to make a push. Philadelphia's won three straight, but then now you've got Ottawa that's lost two in a row. You've got Detroit that's lost a game. It's like Columbus has lost three in a row. They're another team that's starting to slide at the wrong time. So I I'll I'm gonna ask the question, Steve. Who's how do you think what's what is gonna change now in the next week? We've got one more week, then we go into the final like four days.
SPEAKER_03I still think Ottawa is gonna make it into the playoffs. I think the Senators are gonna beat the um Columbus out, and uh I think Boston's gonna make it, and I think that's gonna be I think it's gonna be Boston and Ottawa.
SPEAKER_00Um I could say hot take. I'm gonna say that Pittsburgh doesn't make playoffs.
SPEAKER_02See, that's what I was thinking. I was thinking that I think it's going to be the Senators and the Wings as the wildcard teams.
SPEAKER_00Fair enough. I like it.
SPEAKER_02I'm seeing uh yeah. Just a complete slide from the Penguins out of the out of playoffs completely.
SPEAKER_00They've only won six games this month. They've won six games this month, dude. Listen, they're great I'm Crosby and Malkin and uh Chris Letang, so on and so forth, have done there in Pittsburgh. It's great. Dynasty's over, boys. It's it is, it's over. Malkin's done. Letang's probably done. It's like this is just it's great run, but I I could easily see these guys falling out and not making the playoffs. I think next week, next week's episode is gonna be like, oh, well, yeah, they're done. We'll see. I mean you've got Columbus and Ottawa and Detroit, they're all young teams, and I'm not taking anything away from Crosby again. It's just buddy, it's 37, 38. Yeah, it's just still great, you know what I mean? Still capable playing in the NHL. I mean, you're still that good, but I just feel like I think honestly, I'm gonna take I think Detroit, Ottawa, I think they get in. I think Boston, I think Pittsburgh gets knocked down initially to a wild card team, and then I don't think they I don't just don't think they get in. Yep. I'm also looking at their schedule. You've got they're going, they're playing right now, they're playing against the Isles. Isles have won a couple in a row, they're playing in New York, they're playing on the island. Then you go, then immediately tomorrow night, you're going, you can come back home to play Detroit. Then you're going at Tampa Bay, back to backs at Florida. Yeah, they do have a rough schedule. Or at home, they're at home, but both games back to backs against Florida at New Jersey, then against Washington, a home and home, and then finish out against St. Louis. Buddy, that's that's a gauntlet. That really is. I know Florida's not playing well, so maybe maybe not Florida, but either way, it's just like you're looking at these teams like I'm not I I I what do you think, Brandon?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean I could easily see Pittsburgh going into that wild card spot. They're 4-4-2 in their last 10.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Having a rough time, and I still see Ottawa getting in there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I I agree. Like Steve said, I I'm still on Ottawa. I know they've lost a couple of games, but I feel like it like it's going to be real quick here in the next couple of days, like they need to get it together.
SPEAKER_01So I've been thinking something we never we've never touched on so far. What happened to Florida this year? They're the two time defending standing out champions.
SPEAKER_00I know injuries were a big part of it.
SPEAKER_03Actually, Ottawa has a tough schedule coming up. I yeah. They got a game against Buffalo, a game against Minnesota, a game against Carolina, Tampa Bay.
SPEAKER_00Um they got a match, and I mean they're all home games.
SPEAKER_03That's a rough schedule.
SPEAKER_00Brandon, you have you've got Sam Reinhart's out, you've got Sam Bennett, Anton Lundell, Evan Rodriguez. These are all key guys.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then, of course, you had uh Barkoff. Didn't even make it out of training camp with the torn ACL. And it's just one of those years that just it's just injuries, man. And then they didn't play their best hockey at times. So it's one of those years where it's like it I guarantee you they're back in the playoffs next year. You know what I mean? Like, it's just they just got the injury bug and it just destroyed them. Yeah, that's just what I that's how I feel about it.
SPEAKER_01It's you know, it wasn't just a bug, it was a virus for them.
SPEAKER_00True, it was, and it's it's all it's a lot of players are hurt, yeah. So it's that's what happened. That's just that's the only reason they are what they are, and again, it's not the only, but it's a big part of it. So, yep.
SPEAKER_02Did you guys take a look at the blue jackets remaining schedule? Since we're still talking about this Eastern wildcard race, yeah, it's time. They have like man, hurricanes, wings, sabres, canadians, Bruins, every single team is on this, like on the playoff watch list or above them.
SPEAKER_00So which is only gonna benefit them. You run a gauntlet like that and then go right into the playoffs. It's like this listen, I I'm telling you, every single one of these teams right now, you're in the locker room, it's this is a playoff game. They're treating this as playoff hockey. That's how they're going into each one of these games. Um, that's what Ottawa's gonna do, Detroit's gonna do, Columbus, Boston, even Pittsburgh should be. None of these teams are comfortable. None of them. I promise you, not even Boston. Boston is a good thing. No, I'm looking at Boston's right now. They're done. So it's like, this is all this is playoff. This is just this is playoff hockey. You know what I mean? It was like the Islanders a couple years ago. We were working in basically living in New York City, and it was like we went out to the island for like six straight games. It was awesome. It was awesome. We were getting tickets for like 40 bucks. $37. Oh my god. Like we were just, yeah. And it was that arena, by the way, UBS is is oh my god, one of the nicest I've been to. And anyway, they that's where I got that amazing hot dog. The pulled pork hot dog. Yeah. That's oh, you told us. Yeah, I'd go back there right now just for a hot dog. Um, but anyway, it's they it's playoff hockey, man. That's how it, that's how it was a few years ago, and that's how a lot of these teams are treating this. I guarantee it. You're down to eight, eight games, nine games. So yeah, it's time. It's like you gotta go to work.
SPEAKER_03On some side news uh for hockey, the Carolina just approved of a three billion dollar refit of their stadium. A what they're they're gonna read, they just rep uh we're approved for a three billion dollar remodel of the stadium. Three billion dollars. That's supposed to start next year.
SPEAKER_00That should be it's so are they building them a new stadium? No, same spot, but I mean I mean that it's gonna be an almost complete rebuild. That's gotta be a new stadium for three billion dollars. That's crazy. Like the Bills stadium costs 2.1 billion.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, this is like 2.8 billion dollars, is it was what it was approved for. Billion with a B.
SPEAKER_00With a B, yeah. Well, yeah, but your bills stadium. That's gotta be a new stadium. That's a new stadium. That's insane for hockey, too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they want it to be in uh international, is what they said. Inter the stadium area. Something I don't know, it was I read about it, something weird.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we'll look it up. That's cool. That's awesome. That's yeah, their stadium is. I mean, it's old, it needs to be. I mean, it's you know, it was NC State's basketball stadium, and then PNC. And that's part of it too. It's gonna be a multi-use, yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's gonna be a multi-use development. So I look they might look like they might be redoing the NC State football stadium.
SPEAKER_00It's gotta be the whole thing, Steve. It's got for 2.8 billion. It's like that's probably they're gonna put in shops. There's gonna be like a cool area there. It's yeah, it's probably gonna be a really neat project. That's probably gonna be awesome. Yeah, that's awesome. Good deal. But yeah, it's uh anyway. Um, and then back, let's just get back into the West real quick. So we got Colorado and Dallas, it's still clinched. Um, Dallas also has been on a slide, but they're already in. Um, Minnesota, they uh they've got such a big lead, but they haven't been playing the best hockey either. I mean, they've I don't know, yeah, very, very underwhelming.
SPEAKER_02All three of those teams are are with a loss.
SPEAKER_00One, two, three, four, five. Yeah, dude. I mean, Minnesota's only won six games in March. They lost one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. They went six and eight. So it's like Minnesota didn't have a great March. It's some of these teams, they gotta pick it up. It's like, who's gonna do it? You know what I mean? Edmonton's finally winning, they've won three in a row as of now. Um Utah did finally pick up a win. They were on a little bit of a slide. So it's like you got Utah and Nashville, they've only got eight games left. LA's at nine, Seattle's got ten, Winnipeg nine, San Jose 11. St. Louis ten. And then you get Calgary, Chicago, and Vancouver, who are done. So yeah. Who do you guys got getting in, getting out? Who's gonna slide? Who's gonna make it? Are you still staying true? Steve, do you still feel like San Jose is gonna get in? No. No, not anymore. Brandon like San Jose is still gonna get in.
SPEAKER_03They've definitely dropped out of that race.
SPEAKER_00Well, they're they're not, though. That's the thing. They're four games out, four, four points out.
SPEAKER_03No, they're not not with what who they have left over. They're not gonna, they're not gonna be making it. Uh I mean, they got they they still got like Edmonton, uh, Vancouver. Well, not Vancouver, but uh they've got too many Anaheim. They got they're not gonna make it into the playoffs.
SPEAKER_00They're just not yeah, they lost they lost nine of eleven at one point here in the month of March. They've got St. Louis, Anaheim, Toronto, Nashville, Chicago, Edmonton, all at home. And then at Anaheim, at home against Vancouver, then at Nashville, Chicago, and Winnipeg.
SPEAKER_02Man, I think it's gonna be the Kraken and the Mammoth.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02For those last two wildcard spots? For the last two wildcard spots, I I don't know how much is gonna really change up above that.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. St. Louis is is on they are on a heater, but again, here's what we have to remember too is like this changes at at at week to week right now. It's like you'll have a team. San Jose goes in and rattles off five straight wins. It's like all of a sudden, it's like, holy shit. You know what I mean? Vegas loses another three, they're completely out of this. And so it's it is listen, it's wild. I I don't even know in the West. Like, I'm holding all predictions.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, there's what one, two, there's five, six teams within five points of that last wild card spot.
SPEAKER_00Yep, it's it that's what I'm talking about. It's like I think it's like we're just sitting here, like, I don't even know. In the West.
SPEAKER_02Well, you got wildcard spots that are that are gonna go up and take possible positions on the top three of their division as opposed to wildcard spots. And also, it's like still so out there, like the golden egg.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of the playoffs, folks, go and check out the TikTok on our TikTok page talking about what an absolutely dumb playoff format the NHL currently has. Go check out our video, it's got over 50,000 views now. So go leave a comment. Let me know what you think. Um, anyway. So there it is. That's the NHL. What a week. It was a great week. Uh crazy firing uh in Vegas with uh another with the hiring. It's just I I mean it's crazy. So absolutely insane. Um, Brennan, give me one second.
SPEAKER_01Okay, that was one second.
SPEAKER_02Perfect. Oh, all right. Did you uh did either of you guys watch the UFC event?
SPEAKER_03I did. I watched part of it. Um I didn't actually watch the part where that girl got joked out, though, and I saw I heard it on the on the news, but that girl that went to the hospital.
SPEAKER_04Okay, everybody ready for the top five?
SPEAKER_03Alexa Grosser and whoever. I actually didn't see that. So apparently this girl got knocked down the big fight and she fell, and then the girl came and choked her out at the second time when she was clearly already uh passed out, and they didn't stop the fight. And apparently she's in a hospital and they had to induce a coma because she has brain swelling. Jesus.
SPEAKER_02You don't like to hear that. No, ever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, those those referees they need to be on the top of that right away when as soon as somebody goes down and defenseless.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah, you can just see it in her eyes. She was just like they were like glazed over when she fell. Oh, like the doll eyes. Yeah, she wasn't. You can tell she was not there when she was falling. Okay, that's fine. All right, you ready?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, let's do this. All right, I'll go right back into it real quick and then we'll just go. And it's like, okay. And all right. So with that said, uh, that's the NHL. That's what we're doing. Let us know. Give us a like, uh, drop a comment, let us know what you think. How's this going? How who's gonna make it, who's in, who's out, even though there's still a couple of weeks left. So um, with that, we will go into this week's top five. Here we go. It's a new series, everybody. We are going into top five fan everything. We are gonna cover a whole bunch of stuff over the next six, seven episodes. So, why not jump right into it head first, and go with our top five worst fan bases? Okay, what are we talking about? We talk about worst fan bases, like how do we pick it? I had a hard time doing this one, delusion and overconfidence, claiming championships are intimate despite poor performance. Um, the fan base's arrogance or entitlement, um, rowdiness, toxicity, fan arrests, violent behavior, um, crime statistics at stadiums, things like that, and of course, bandwagoning. I don't really go with bandwagoning, but uh definitely some of the other ones above is what makes uh to me just a sh you know garbage fan base. Um I've witnessed and seen so much in person.
SPEAKER_03Um yeah, you've told me a lot of stories about you know the different stadiums and dealing with the different events.
SPEAKER_00So many stadiums, so many events. Um for everybody out there that doesn't know. Um, that's what I've done since I was 18, honestly, when I had free time. Um, some people might do certain things. I would go on stadium trips, stadium trips, uh, been to the Super Bowl, um, seen the World Series clinched in person, uh Stanley Cup NBA finals, and then all the playoffs that go along with that. Um, AHL playoffs, ECHL playoffs, um, been to BCS Bowl games. So it's just again, it's like I've I've got to see a lot as a neutral fan. Um so that's kind of like what we're basing a lot of this on. So it's just overall like what makes a fan base bad. So um listen, there's if we know that people are gonna disagree. I I promise I know people are gonna disagree with these lists. Um, because honestly, where it comes from is an emotional place. This is coming from an unemotional place. It's just this is it is what it is, man. We looked up statistics and things like this. These guys and myself do a whole lot of research, okay? Um, we are not going international. Uh, some of us may have gone international, um, because that is possible. I mean, there's you talking about one what's that? I do have one for the international sport hockey and soccer overseas. Rugby, yeah, cricket. These fans are nuts. So with that said, um, I'm excited. I'm I'm also nervous.
SPEAKER_02I'm just waiting for the stuff's banger. You know he's gonna bring out his top five to be like he's gonna throw something out of left field.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, no hard. He's already excited. No, it's gonna be something ridiculous like a surfing league in Australia down on tonight.
SPEAKER_01Um as soon as I say you're gonna agree with me.
SPEAKER_00Mostly the sharks of a surfing league. Let's see. Yeah, it's uh again, uh, most of mine are coming from um experiences that I've had um in person and uh people that I know also. Um cool. Yeah, I think it's gonna be a uh let's just say it's gonna be interesting, man. Let's run it. All right, so with that said, um, let's start. Uh let's go with Steve, man. Steve, number five.
SPEAKER_03All right, most of mine can be honestly shuffled in any order. So I'm just gonna the one through five was really hard to do, except for like my top three, though. So no, even the top three. I mean, honestly, any of these could go in any spot. I mean, just because of how they they are. So my number five would be the any Eagle of the Eagles fans, the team Eagles.
SPEAKER_00So is it you're saying just Eagles or Philadelphia?
SPEAKER_03Phil well, no, Eagles. Um, I was I was reading up about them as well when I was doing this. And do you know they had a jail at one time underneath their stadium?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, at the vet, and their own judge and and an on-site judge. Yes, would you please stop talking about all my talking points? Sorry.
SPEAKER_00So okay, so Steve's got Philadelphia Eagles specifically, not Philadelphia. Okay. Um, Nick, your number five, please.
SPEAKER_02Uh, number five is all-encompassing football fans, the hooligans. Um, hooliganism, it's a global gang-like following that can ruin the event for both sides. There's like arson and murder, um, all kinds of horribleness. And it's too much, it has to do with too many soccer teams for me to do it individually. So I'm just doing a bulk hooliganism. Yuck.
SPEAKER_00Okay, that's that's interesting. Um, the stuff, what do you got, buddy?
SPEAKER_01My number five is a personal pick. You won't see it on anybody else's list anywhere, but okay. My number five is BYU because I hate it when people bring religion into it.
SPEAKER_00And BYU fans do that. I don't think these lists are supposed to be emotional. I got you, buddy. That's I don't care.
SPEAKER_01My list, I'm my rule. BYU number five.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Fair enough, buddy. All right, so um, number five. Again, this is based on statistics and everything else. And um, I am uh gonna go with uh I was kind of surprised when I really did the research and uh really looked into this, and then you know, I I personally haven't had a bad experience with this fan base, but I've seen a lot of despicable behavior, and that's the Ohio State University. Yeah, I it's you know, nothing personal on my Ohio State fans, but uh yeah, they when you really look into it, and then I started to go to some games and start to see them both um at home and on the road, and I'm like, wow, I'm like, these these rumors are true. So I'm going to Ohio State, the Ohio State University Buckeyes Football at number five. All right, moving on. Steve, let's hear your number four, buddy.
SPEAKER_03Uh, this one is, I think, because my a lot of my family members are fans, but the Dallas Cowboy fans. Okay. They're just all around annoying.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Dallas is on a lot of people's lists and top fives and things like that. Um, they fall under the category, I think, of like false hope, delusion, but you could also say that that's delusion.
SPEAKER_03They always think they're gonna win the Super Bowl every year. I know, buddy.
SPEAKER_00It's worst moniker ever. Here we go. Um, all right, thank you, Steve.
SPEAKER_02Number four for Nick Brown. Number four, turning this up with the City of Boston sport fans. Um, Red Sox Patriots championships have been have repeatedly turned violent. History of people being crushed by crowds, fires, and clashes with PD. Uh, Bruins fans aren't exempt. Um they have a reputation for aggressive, albeit shitty behavior towards visiting fans. Um, Boston PD even has riot gear come out for playoff games um to help prevent more horribleness. So I'm going with all of Boston. All of Boston.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Yeah, that's I mean, that's yeah. Um, statistically, it's it's it's you know, top five almost everything bad. I I I do see it. I I and I understand it. And you know what? The Bruins had, I think, one of maybe the worst homer broadcast guys um uh of all time. I I'm so glad that uh I think Jack, uh I'm forgetting his, I'm slipping his uh last name right now. Um but uh yeah, one of the worst Bruins um homers I've ever heard. You know what I mean? Like a lot of broadcasters can do like nationally televised games um because they're able to not be such a homer, but yeah, it was Drack Jack Edwards, uh one of the worst play-by-play guys I've ever heard. So anyway, uh Brandon, number four, buddy.
SPEAKER_01Um, going off of what Nick said for his number five, hooliganism's one of the worst things out there, and for me, nobody does it worse than Millwall FC over in Merry Old England. They are notorious for their hooliganism.
SPEAKER_02Didn't they start that term with the hooligans?
SPEAKER_01That it is that the I know they have a chant that says nobody likes us, we don't care.
SPEAKER_00That's there's a song, yeah, that that I've I've heard them say, nobody like yeah, they did a documentary on that as well, and it's like you know, Philadelphia fans, I think, have taken on that same that same cheer, like, oh we don't care. Hashtag we don't care. I'm like, okay. I'm like, yeah, throw batteries at late old ladies, like that's cool, anyway. Yeah, it's yeah. So all right, Brandon, number four. That's a great pick. Um, love it. So uh my number four, um, again, this is just based on statistics and everything else, is gonna be the Los Angeles Dodgers. Um that has in years past been one of the most dangerous places for any fan of any road team to go. Um, you've had um fans that have gotten beaten up, put in comas. Um one paramedic almost lost his life um just in the parking lot. It's like, you know, what are we doing? Like so um it's also uh near one of the worst places in Los Angeles, so um there's that too. Um cool stadium, you know, it's up on a hill, it's kind of neat. Um, you know, gorgeous views, but it's like it's shit getting in and out of there. I'll say that. One of the worst traffic patterns. Um, still not worse than like Foxborough or some others, but anyway, um LA Dodgers for me at number four. Steve, what is your number three?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, mine went to was kind of where Brandon, I'm sorry, Nick went prior. It's uh England soccer, football. Yeah, all of it. I mean, they're just they're just some of the they're arrogant and they're just hooligan. I mean, they yeah, I really I think I wouldn't be surprised if it did start there with the hooligan thing because they're some of the craziest fans, and not in a good way.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I got you. Nick, number three.
SPEAKER_02Number three, gonna go north of the border to the Montreal Canadiens. Um they had some major riots following their Stanley Cup series, wins and losses, yeah. Uh, major riots in 50 1955, 1986, 1993, and 2021 most recently. Police cars burned, stores and stores were looted, and like I said, with wins and losses, get your shit together.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's a lot of people. Yeah, one thing about uh Montreal Canadian fans, complete and utter inability to have an objective conversation about their team. I mean, absolutely impossible. They cannot do it, they will not do it, they don't know how to do it. Um, and if it's anything bad about their team, it's like, yeah, they're just it's it's kind of absurd. It makes them kind of sound ignorant at times, but yeah, yeah, there is a total lack of ability to have an objective conversation about their team. So um, yeah, not a bad pick. Uh, Brandon, the stuff, number three.
SPEAKER_01My number three, already mentioned, going with the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. Number three Eagles. All right, you get crazy over there.
SPEAKER_00Fair enough, buddy. Fair enough. Okay. Um, number three for this guy is gonna be uh Pittsburgh. I it it is What it is, man. I I've been to uh quite a few Steeler games, always the same. Um, I've been to some penguin games, and I I and listen, I know some great penguin fans, I really do, but the behavior that I've seen on just a constant basis with that fan base is just so pitiful and embarrassing that yeah, they're in there. I I went to a Steeler game with a kid, and they got granted, they got beat by the Chicago Bears on uh Sunday night football. One of the greatest passes and catches live I've ever seen was at that game with Rothelsberger to a young um Antonio Brown. I I don't know how Ben got the ball there, and I don't know how Antonio Brown caught this ball and got his feet in. Um it look it up. One of the most incredible plays I've ever seen. But the kids that I went with, the dude, the sorry, grown men after the game are like walking down the street, throwing their shoulders into guys. There's two fights over here. It's just like these they're idiots. I I yeah, and I again I know a lot of great Steelers fans, but I'm sorry, but yeah, that's one of the worst fan bases. I I just I can't even deny it. I mean, I don't want to say it because I know so many good ones, but yeah, sorry. Yeah, it's it's it's embarrassing. So that's my number three, Steve. Moving on, number two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm gonna kind of piggyback off of some of yours, but mine is pretty much all LA teams except for the Chargers, so because they're kind of new to the area, so LA. Yeah, LA. Just because I mean, if you talk, they're just violent, especially if something doesn't go their way, they just get violent.
SPEAKER_00And I could have done that with the Dodgers. I it's the same with the Rams. Honestly, it's LA's fan base, was my you know, I just used some of those, but yeah, it is LA. Yeah, I I agree with you, buddy. It's just there's just violence stabbings, shootings.
SPEAKER_03It's like even even LA fans or any LA fans going to a different place, like for instance, Phoenix, you know, living there and going to one of their games and then playing it, you playing an LA team. If it doesn't go their way, they get violent with you. If you, you know, if you don't talk shit with them, or you do talk shit with them, they get violent. So it's a lose-lose situation with a lot of their fans.
SPEAKER_00I yeah, I completely agree. It's yeah, man. It's it's just like, what are we doing? Look at the players on the field on the ice after the game. They're they're shaking hands, they're hugging, they're trading jerseys, they're praying, whatever they want to do. And it's like you see these fans up in the stands and they're beating people up. Why? Because I'm wearing a Reds jersey, yeah, or whatever, you know what I mean? A Niner jersey or a Bears jersey or whatever. Like, grow up. It's just disgusting and despicable.
SPEAKER_03So you definitely don't want to wear a Bay Area jersey in South California, in Southern California.
SPEAKER_00No, uh that one paramedic, it was uh what was his name? Brian Stowe. I yeah, Brian Stowe. I remember because I was working at AMR at the time in uh Las Vegas, but anyway, yeah, dude, just yeah, embarrassing. So uh Nick, what is your number two?
SPEAKER_02Number two is going with the Oakland slash Vegas, although albeit better in Vegas, Raiders. Um, they've had a decade-long reputation for fights and stabbings in general, parking lot chaos before the game even starts. Um, the black hole, it travels, the black hole traveled to visiting station because I lived in Denver, and when they when the Raiders played the Broncos, there was a black hole at Mile High Stadium. Um, although, like I said, Vegas has towed it down a little bit, but they the reputation still yeah, it follows, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It it was LA, it was Oakland, it was yeah, man. I mean, it's yeah. Yeah, uh, thanks for the pick. The stuff. What's your number two, buddy?
SPEAKER_01Mine's along the same line. My pick was LA Dodgers. It's just LA Dodgers. It's a scary place to be, especially if you're rooting for the other team.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. We have a consensus on LA teams. Oh, yeah, dude. I saw a brewer fan once there. I was at a game with a buddy, and I saw a brewer fan get get literally almost killed, almost stomped out outside of a bathroom. I'm like, what are we doing? And it was just a yeah, anyway. It's just sad, man. It was a bunch of like, they looked like you know, they were bangers, they were throwing up gang signs, and it's like this poor guy's in a brewer's jersey. It's like he's just trying to go to the game, and it's like yeah. So, all right. I guess stuff is just sad to me. It's like, what are we doing? Like, you're you're really so I I guess I just don't understand this level of uh you know ignorance with some of this stuff. So um, number two, and you know, it bothers me to have to say this one, but it it's because I love going to these places, I love going to games at these stadiums, and it's it's uh Boston, and it's just man, they just do it to themselves. You end up on these lists for a reason, and it's like it's you know, what are you what are you so mad about? You've got a great bunch of teams here, and a history of teams. Yeah, you've won so many titles. It's like, why are you such toxic people?
SPEAKER_03It's not like you're Cleveland fans where you haven't won anything.
SPEAKER_00There's a bunch that could have also been on this list, okay? Oh, a lot, yes. Honestly, but it's like again, I go down to numbers and like you know, what I've seen in person. My personal experience, I can wear a jersey in any stadium, and it's like I I've never had an issue, but it and I understand it somehow the way that you react, but it's like, dude, what are we doing? If I'm in a stadium of a team that I root for and I see some of the stuff that I've seen, I'm calling my own fans out. Like, what are you doing? Stop. Yeah, like you're an idiot. What are we doing? So, yeah, it's it saddens me to say it. Some of the great, the great Fenway's awesome. Foxboro, worst stadium to get in and out of that I've ever seen, but great, great place, great tailgate experience, everything, right? Um the garden. One of the coolest arenas in all of hockey and basketball is the garden. And anyway, so that's my number two. Let's get into it. Number one ladies and gentlemen, Steve.
SPEAKER_03Is that your answer? That's my answer. LeBron James fans.
SPEAKER_00Okay, that's different. Um, okay.
SPEAKER_03Any comments? I've known too many of them, and they just they they I don't know how they think that LeBron is better than Michael, but that is the hardest argument that I just don't understand it. And I just do you remember Ricardo? Yes, he was a LeBron James fan. There's so many times I just wanted to smack him. But he's in a wheelchair, man. Well, that's why I didn't smack him.
SPEAKER_02That's the only reason.
SPEAKER_00Steve probably wanted to tip him out of that. He's got cerebral palsy, by the way. Yes. Anyway, all right.
SPEAKER_03And he was my nephew, so I wouldn't actually hit him, so everybody knows.
SPEAKER_00Great kid, awesome kid. All right, Nick Brown, ladies and gentlemen, Nick Brown. What is your number one, sir?
SPEAKER_02It's already been said, Steve. Uh, Philly fans. Uh the only one that have a stadium jail and an on-site judge. They've had issues and fights with players, refs, police horses. Um, Eagles games require extra mounted police. Like, that whole town is they don't know how to act in public. Blueing their own players.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and their mantra is we don't care. It's like, dude, they're yeah, scumbags.
SPEAKER_02Guess what? Neither do I.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Steve, Brandon, the stuff trainer. What is your number one, buddy? Let's hear it. Wait, this is gonna be his good one.
SPEAKER_01My number one is the one I uh person, my worst personal experience I've ever had with. It's less, it's more of an event, I guess you could say. Okay, it's uh Las Vegas NASCAR. When they come to town, it turns to madness. Like, I don't know how they are in Daytona or like in Indianapolis, but when they come to Vegas, it is like drink city. Like I worked security one one time while they were here, and that was like the worst weekend of my life having to deal with all that.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So you're saying NAS NASCAR fans in general. Okay.
SPEAKER_01NASCAR at Las Vegas. I said, I don't know how they are in Indianapolis.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's they're the same everywhere they go. I mean they're chaos, you know. It's yeah, it's they they play. They drink everywhere they go.
SPEAKER_02I have many friends that are huge fans that travel for NASCAR, and they are it's just a it's a key like a concert festival for three days.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I went to I went to school with a guy that's uh yeah, he's a paramedic on their circuit or whatever. So yeah. So all right, well, my number one, it's kind of anticlimatic, but it is Philadelphia. Um, it it listen. I think, and this is again when I come down, when I go with the NFL, it's like I'll say this over and over again. I the NFL is quite literally every fan base has just trash human beings. I mean, it's just I I've been to so many games, almost every single stadium in the NFL. And it's it's like it just is what it is. They're they're all they're all stupid. I was using an example of uh like yeah, the 49ers. There was a guy who is at at a at a pisser, and he looks over at a guy and he's like, Budweiser, huh? And the dude's buddy behind him, forearm shivers him, and explodes his face up against this wall, and then they just they beat this poor guy into a coma. His wife and two kids were in their seats where he went. He ended up in a coma for like six weeks or something. I I can't remember all the details. These guys were uh again, these guys were two bangers and it maybe they had gotten out of prison, uh, if I remember correctly. One of them had just got recently was released out of prison. I it's like that's not an excuse to me, man. I'm like, what are we doing? They probably looked at him wrong. I he just said looked over at him. He was in the other pisser, and he's like, Budweiser, huh? Per all the witnesses that were in the bath. It's like, what the F if there hadn't been people there to break that fight up, they might have killed him. So anyway, it's like you can go down this laundry list of of things, it's you know, it just and then it doesn't stop there. It's the fillies, it's it's it's the flyers, it's the Sixers, it's like it just there's the amount of stories that you can look up about this fan base, and it's just like, dude, grow up, bro. Like, this is pathetic, it's just pathetic behavior.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, 100%. So I find it funny that um none of us had Cleveland, though.
SPEAKER_00So Cleveland was it it's in my top ten.
SPEAKER_03I mean well, because I was doing well, I did a search on it. That's I I I did a search on worst fan moments, and the number one that comes up on the internet is called Malice of the P at the Palace. That was apparently when uh Detroit players actually went into the fan into the fans just started throwing fists at the fans back and forth, and yeah, Ron Artest was one of the big names that did that.
SPEAKER_02Isn't that meta wait who's meta war war and peace or whatever? Meta World Test. Is that is that Ron? All right, yeah. Yep.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, man, there was others that you could throw on there. Honestly, it's almost any NFL team at this point. It just is what it is. Um hockey, it's like, yeah, I had the Habs, Habs were close. Vancouver Canucks are pitiful, like bad dude.
SPEAKER_02Um this would have been top five most ignorant fan bases, I would have put the coyotes in the top three.
SPEAKER_00Arizona as a whole, yeah. Um, anyway, that's our top five, folks. Um, thank you for joining us. Let us know. SPEAKER_00Not making the playoffs. The stuff.
SPEAKER_01Enjoy those last couple of weeks of hockey we got left.
SPEAKER_00Yep, playoffs right around the corner. Nick, I'm just kidding. Cubs apply, man. Anyway, thanks, guys. We appreciate you. We're out of here.
