SPEAKER_01

Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Full Strength Podcast. Thank you for joining us. This is episode number 15. Uh, we are back. It is full-blown Stanley Cup playoffs going on. Uh, we've got also the NBA playoffs going on. Uh, we had all kinds of fun stuff happen. We had the WWE WrestleMania, um, NFL Draft Guys, one week away. Here we go. Draft week. Um, and then MLB is rolling right along. So we're gonna start it off with Steve. How was your week, buddy?

SPEAKER_03

It was a good week. I got sick, but it was a good week. I enjoyed watching the NHL, watching the Canes win their first game. It was a good week.

SPEAKER_01

I enjoyed it. A lot going on. Caes canes look good, man. They're they're cruising right along. It's a long series, but man, they look good. They I mean, auto is gonna be tough. So, auto is gonna be really tough. Those are gonna be low-scoring games, is you know, so but uh started that game. Brandon the stuffed trainer. How was your week, buddy?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, it's an exhausting week. Finally got the bike up and running.

SPEAKER_01

Sweet.

SPEAKER_04

WrestleMania going on, and hockey is just crazy week going on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, awesome, man. Well, another week in the books. Nick, how was your week, bud?

SPEAKER_06

Uh, just getting over getting I was I got sick this weekend, uh, allergies and then something else. But you know what? It's been a great week. Took the kids outside, it's been beautiful here in Flagstaff. Uh, got to watch a bunch of hockey, which is always fun. Got to watch a bunch of Cubs games on the uh while I was while I was working. Uh so it's been a lot of sports, a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_01

Ready to go. Awesome, dude. Love to hear it. So, with that, let's get into it. Uh, Brandon, you were at uh WWE's WrestleMania, man. What'd you uh how was it? I I knew you were a little disappointed.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, I was a lot disappointed. Yeah, you I'll just give the very brief summary, but if you want the full experience, just watch my little YouTube video I made about it.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, get on YouTube, folks. Go uh subscribe to our YouTube channel, and yeah, Brandon's got his whole videos on there. Sorry, buddy, go ahead.

SPEAKER_04

I mean to sum it up, man. It was just a four-hour event with about came out to equal about one hour and twenty minutes of actual wrestling.

SPEAKER_01

A lot of show, huh?

SPEAKER_04

There's there was just the ad breaks that they do now are longer than the matches.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I I don't I don't I I don't get it. Like, why are there ad breaks when it's a pay-per-view event?

SPEAKER_04

It's no it's no longer a pay-per-view event, it's now a premium live event.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, sorry, that's my fault.

SPEAKER_04

That's what they call it now. Ever since their deal with Netflix.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I know at a UFC pay-per-view event, like I've been to a UFC God, it's been a while. It was 220 was the last one I went to. And it like there's always pauses, and there's you know, there's there's time in between the the the matches, right? The fights. In your case, the matches, whatever. It's like, why are we it's ad breaks really longer than the matches? That's just bad. I feel like that's bad for business. You can't be the only fan that was disappointed.

SPEAKER_04

There's just no way. Everybody was annoyed because you want you want to see him go out there and wrestle. It's supposed to be the big like culmination of everything at WrestleMania, and then yeah, right. Yeah, the main event between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton that made no sense whatsoever. Everybody hated because Pat McAfee got inserted into it.

SPEAKER_01

Gotcha. People don't like Pat McAfee, Pat McFarland.

SPEAKER_04

Well, it made no sense why he was involved in it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I got you. That's sad. That's unfortunate. I remember I I like again, I'm not a huge WWE guy, but um, I was uh a friend of mine down in Arizona, her brother was coming into town, and so um we were hanging out a lot at the time, and so it was like, yeah, we went. I was like, yeah, let's go. I'll go to WrestleMania, let's go check it out. And I gotta tell you, it was such an awesome production. I was so impressed with the production of WrestleMania, and that was at uh State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. So just absolutely unbelievable. So it's sad to see that that's gone downhill, or it did this year.

SPEAKER_04

So I know that there was other complaints too, but yeah, it's been going that way ever since you know the merger into TKO. Okay, with the way it's been running.

SPEAKER_01

That's unfortunate, man.

SPEAKER_04

But Sunday was supposed to be at least a little bit better from what I heard, just because the main event between Roman Reigns and CM Punk was supposed to have been an amazing match. Okay, but outside of that that everything else was like short matches again.

SPEAKER_01

Again, that's well, that's unfortunate, dude. I'm sorry to hear that, but yeah. Anyway, so uh, but moving on, we are uh we are we're getting into draft week. Um, whoa, sorry, one more thing. Again, if you want to go check out Brandon's uh has some great coverage on our YouTube channel, so go over, check out Brandon's uh YouTube videos, his shorts, and uh on the WWE WrestleMania. And uh yeah, leave a comment. Let us know what you think. So uh, but yeah, again, moving on, we get into the NFL draft week. This is the week, it is coming to Pittsburgh, it is gonna be on Sunday. They even uh rearranged the uh Penn's and Philadelphia Flyers uh series because of it. They're getting two days off, so because of the uh draft, you don't want a Stanley Cup playoff hockey game and the NFL draft going on um at the same time. So but uh Steve, anything do you think there's gonna be any big moves? The 49ers did just extend uh Trent Williams to two years, 50 million. He's now signed for next season and 2027. I'm guessing that's gonna be the end of his career. But do you guys think any big moves coming this week? Is any team gonna try to move up, say we're good, move down out of the first, anything? Steve, what do you got? I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, my feeling with this year's draft, it's kind of flat at the top. Like there's not a lot of QBs out there to grab. We kind of know what everybody backs out there to grab. Yeah, I just it feels like it's gonna be kind of flattened out through like the whole first and second rounds. Here's my thing. I think it could get pretty interesting, especially in the first, you know, between like 10 and 10 and 20, the picks. That's because it's okay.

SPEAKER_01

So that's what I was gonna say. Uh outside of like the top seven, I think we have a pretty good idea who's going where. But like I agree with you. I think like 10 and even all the way down to the bottom of the first, I think there's gonna be some movement because, like you said, there's nothing that's like I feel clear-cut, even looking at all the mock drafts.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean, there's not like five quarterbacks are gonna be taken within the first, you know, 10 picks.

SPEAKER_01

And I feel like even I was gonna say like 15 down, some of those teams are pretty well set up. They've got to get some, you know, little things, offensive linemen, maybe maybe a defensive back to be replaced. But and there's also a lot of teams that have multiple picks in this draft. So it'll be interesting to see those teams that have multiple picks, see how they feel where they sit, and see if they trade up or trade out. So I agree with you though. I think the bottom end of the draft, I think, is gonna be a lot of movement. It's just a feeling I've got it, you know. Brandon, what do you think?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's hard to predict some of these picks, what exactly some of these teams are thinking, but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Dallas, who's currently at the 12th pick, try and get somewhere up more towards five or six. Really? I wouldn't be surprised with just the way that ownership is.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, sure. I know, and it listen, Jerry Jones said they're spending money too. So I don't know if he's gonna do that in free agency. He said it's gonna be different. Um, I know a lot of Dallas fans aren't like super uh optimistic, but I he said they're gonna spend a ton of money. Maybe that includes trying to move up in the draft. That's very possible. I again, Jerry Jones has said he's gonna be active, so it'll be interesting. I think it'll be fun to watch. I'm always excited. Um Nick, what do you think? What are the Bears gonna do? Say what? What are the Bears gonna do? Are they gonna draft a quarterback? Maybe the guy from Alabama?

SPEAKER_06

Uh the Bears are in a very predict, very ridiculous we're calm entering the draft because we had a good year and we're everyone's happy with people that are in play, so we're just trying to add. Um, it's weird because we're not panic panicking like we've seen in the past. Um, do you guys know? So have we already talked about Dexter Lawrence getting traded? To since we were no for a 10th round pick, um the 10th overall pick.

SPEAKER_01

They tenth over rock. We were gonna bring that up after we kind of no, no, no. We were kind of jumping the gun. I was gonna bring up the moves that have been made except for Trent Williams. I kind of jumped the gun there. But yeah, go ahead, bring it up. Let's talk about it.

SPEAKER_06

I was just gonna say that because we have uh the Giants are are sent Pro Bowl defensive tackle, Dexter Lawrence to Cincinnati for the number 10 overall pick, giving the New York two top 10 selections for the first time in like four years. Uh the Colts also acquired the New York Giants. Huh?

SPEAKER_01

Is that a shot at the New York Giants?

SPEAKER_06

A little bit. Um the Jets also acquired the 16th pick and a 2027 first pick, first round pick, yeah, and a wide receiver for Sauce Gardner. Yeah. So we have like five or six teams, depending on where all these things find uh final out. But we have like five or six teams in the NFL draft that have no first round picks.

SPEAKER_01

No first round picks, correct. So we were gonna bring up those moves. You already did. I love it. Um, listen, here's the thing. I is Sauce Gardner worth that much? He used to be. I I know he used to be, but is this a situation where like we're we're paying for what he used to be? It's like I I get it, but it happens all the time. Guys get a contract because of how they play, and those contracts don't always hold their value. I think that's a lot for Sauce Gardner. That's just my opinion. And uh again, this defensive lineman is great, but I also tenth overall pick. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

What just just next year's draft pick? You said that was a 27, too, right?

SPEAKER_01

Well, that'll be determined, obviously, with their oh, it's a two-to be determined. Okay, that was between the Colts, the Colts and the Jets.

SPEAKER_05

But it's still a first round, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

First round, 27. We just don't know where they're gonna be because that's all based on record, obviously, and you know how you finish the season. But it yeah, I do we know. Do you have a list of the teams that actually aren't even good? They they're not even getting a first-round draft pick. But again, I have if you're good, you're good. If you don't need your draft pick, then it's like, why not trade for a player? I I get it. That it'll make an immediate impact.

SPEAKER_06

So well, and you you know you're picking up a player that is experienced that you've seen it play, as opposed to someone who play college that hasn't made that transition to the pros.

SPEAKER_01

You don't ever you don't know how these guys are ever gonna end up. That's absolutely true.

SPEAKER_06

But yeah, so so far what we have as far as my don't have a 2026 first-round pick, they are the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, uh, Denver Broncos, and the Atlanta Falcons.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Atlanta Falcons definitely need it. Some of the other teams, they've already, you know, they've kind of they're playoff teams, so it's you know they're fingers.

SPEAKER_04

I'm kind of surprised about that one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's I well, here's the thing though, Brandon. With with I feel like the Bengals, yeah, they had a terrible year last year. They got absolutely molliwed by the injury bug. They're a playoff team, they're still a playoff team. I'm just I I everybody should agree with that. Like they're gonna be a playoff team again. They just got hit with a really bad season last year. So uh Cincinnati not being in the first round, they'll get something in the second. So I I I think they're still a playoff team. That's just my opinion, but anybody disagree?

SPEAKER_03

Uh the Bengals being a playoff team? Absolutely not.

SPEAKER_01

Next year? Why would they not? I'm not the I'm that's what I mean.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he doesn't disagree.

SPEAKER_01

I don't disagree with you. I was like, man, I was like, really? Why Kyler Murray is an all-pro quarterback, Steve?

SPEAKER_02

Go ahead, let me have it.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, he he was a good quarterback. I know you I know we've we've had this argument. You always for about two years, and then you're like, yeah, he is not a good quarterback. I'm like, okay, well, yeah, he's had some moments. He's all right. You're like, no, no. Steve, I'll I'll give this to Steve about Kyler Murray. He was he was set in stone. I was kind of like, I like how he's mobile, but he doesn't take off and run and take off and panic. You know what I mean? Like, he'll run, but he'll just give himself time. He doesn't really take off, he doesn't run for yards, he runs to get himself available to make a throw, and he's got such a big arm. So anyway, Steve never liked Kyler Murray, though. He's stuck to his gut. That's fair, man. I like it. So anyway, so yeah, NFL draft coming up uh this Sunday, correct? And uh it's gonna be in Pittsburgh. Uh the draft picks again are going to take a boat to the stage, um, which is gonna be really, really interesting. The players are gonna be hanging out at that point park. It's a really pretty area there uh in Pittsburgh at uh where the three rivers meet. Very, very cool. Um, but anyway. The draft starts. Look forward to it. Oh, real quick, does anybody else gonna watch draft day the night before the draft?

SPEAKER_06

Always I've done it for the last three years. It's awesome. Every year.

SPEAKER_01

I've I've draft starts on the 23rd, by the way.

SPEAKER_03

What's that? The draft starts on the 23rd to the 25th, which is Thursday through Saturday.

SPEAKER_01

The coverage. When is the first round?

SPEAKER_03

Thursday.

SPEAKER_01

Thursday night is the first round. Okay, sorry. Thank you. I got the dates. Dates all messed up, so that's my fault. Thank you, Steve. So yeah, the draft will be Thursday night, April 23rd. I believe it starts the first round, like it starts at 8 p.m. Or is it later than that? It might be later.

SPEAKER_03

Let's find out because uh 8 p.m. Yeah, Thursday at 8 p.m.

SPEAKER_01

Being on the east coast sucks sometimes, dude.

SPEAKER_03

Five o'clock on here for your west coasters.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know. I know. We love everybody. Anyway, so that's right. Steve confirmed it. It is the first round is Thursday, April 23rd at 8 p.m. on ESPN. So enjoy. Here we go.

SPEAKER_03

The Raiders are on the clock.

SPEAKER_01

The Raiders are on the clock, they are, aren't they? Um, okay, so uh nothing big in in baseball again this week. So um we do have the NBA playoffs have begun. Um anybody, anybody really tried to watch the Suns and the Thunder. It's it's tough even in the playoffs. I'm just it's been, I don't know. It's been brutal, dude.

SPEAKER_03

I have it's just like we talked about, it's just there was so much of people taking three steps forward and then one step back just so they can hit that three-point line and shoot the ball. I just I saw maybe a handful of people actually driving for a layup through other people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like I was saying the Pistons, I thought the Pistons were frauds all year. Um, I saw a game where they just got beat just because they couldn't hit threes that night, and they just got beat by one of the worst teams of the league in Washington. So I I just don't I don't see the entertainment value anymore. It's like you go to a playoff hockey game and the atmosphere is absolutely insane. So it just yeah, and to prove it, the magic have already gone up 1-0 at Detroit. So it's like I like I think Detroit will be out. I think they'll get beat by the Magic in the first round. I don't know. Cool.

SPEAKER_03

So they're playing like they have been, they're gonna lose the round the series very easily.

SPEAKER_01

It's just shooting, it's just based on three-point shooting. It's there's no it doesn't even seem like there's really that much strategy. And then on top of it, let me just and I'm not bashing the NBA, I'm not trying to here, guys. 28 timeouts per game between the two teams, 14 timeouts a half.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, you know, that's another thing I noticed. Like, do you have you ever even noticed that by the end, you mean by the middle of the you know end of the game, yeah, they're not even winded anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's because they got a timeout every couple of minutes.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, they look like they're fresh coming off the bench. It's it's right. Honestly, it's getting out of hand.

SPEAKER_01

It's a they're so soft, it's just like, what are we doing? Like, honestly, I between TV timeouts and then you have seven timeouts per per half, each team gets seven timeouts. Oh my god, have you ever tried to watch the last like two minutes of a basketball game?

SPEAKER_04

That's the worst part for crazy. Yeah, why do they why do they need so many timeouts?

SPEAKER_01

I I don't, Brandon. I've I stopped asking that question because people that uh that are basketball purists just get mad. They just get mad. So it's like I used to be a basketball purist back, you know, back in the 90s and the early 2000s, but it's just the games like the Lakers and the Blazers, the Bulls and the Pistons, the Bulls and the Knicks. I those the Bulls, the Celtics, the Celtics, I mean all the people. The Lakers. Yeah, I mean those I remember those series between the Lakers and the Blazers were were phenomenal. Oh god, Rashid Wallace. You had I remember the Suns and the Glide. Yeah, Clyde the Glide. That was a little bit before the series we're talking about, but yes, Clyde Drexler, dude, in the room. You played in the 90s. It just it it's it's it's over. I I it's basketball and not basketball, the NBA.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because I mean what you're watching, you know, the March Madness was was was like watching phenomenal old school NBA.

SPEAKER_01

Steve spot on, yeah, absolutely. It really, really was so it was but uh anyway.

SPEAKER_06

We did see that we did see that Wemby got his defensive player of the year's rookie season. So congrats to him. Yeah, Weminyama.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he was a rookie last year.

SPEAKER_06

I thought he was oh oh he got defensive player of the year though, this year. Sorry. Yeah, I thought it was just rookie year still.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, just defensive player of the year, yeah. Yep. Yeah, congratulations to Web and Yama, great. Uh it's nice to see that players still play defense in the NBA. That's awesome. Round of applause. Anyway, uh moving on. So an interesting thing happened. Okay, so I, as you guys know, go to a lot of sporting events. I use vivid seats almost exclusively. Okay, so with that said, I also have all apps, Stub Hub, Game Time, again, vivid, Ticketmaster, Ticket Exchange. All these apps where you buy tickets on the secondary market. What that means is the team sells their tickets to season ticket holders, um, any other you know, single game seats, whatever, okay, directly from the team. Those people can then take those tickets and they can post them onto those apps in order to sell them on the secondary market. There is no cap, doesn't matter what you sell them for. You know, you can look at the market, whatever you sow decide. Okay. So, with that said, when this was published, when I put it out, I had got sent a picture of all the averages of what Teams fans were selling tickets for on the secondary market. And I looked at it and I was like, okay, I'm like, yeah, this is absurd. And I went around to all four of the apps, and at the time, these were dead, dead nuts, they were right on the money, um, for you know what the ticket prices were at the time. Okay, so these are all the playoff teams. Utah Mammoth, cheapest was one eighty-two, Colorado ninety two, Dallas 83, Minnesota Wild, 171, Las Vegas, $76, Edmonton was 167 at the time, Anaheim 110. And these are all for their Game One home games. LA 102. Buffalo 406. Oh, sorry. That was later. Buffalo initially was $730. At the time of this, $464. Tampa, $122, Montreal, $292, Carolina 98. Pittsburgh $112. Or sorry, $212. Philadelphia was $310. Boston $183. And Ottawa $115. Okay, this is the first time.

SPEAKER_03

Buffalo was almost charging 100% more than any other team.

SPEAKER_01

Then the next closest at the time. Correct. Through all four of these. But people will post on multiple. So I posted, and because I think it's absolutely ridiculous, dude. Okay, listen, I got a lot of hateful comments. Uh loved them all. As you guys know, I do. I really enjoy this kind of stuff. So, but the point was whether you think it's right or not, yeah, it's yes, I get it. It's you know, free market, all this, you know, fun capitalism stuff, and it's it is, it's great. I love that people can do this, and some people make money at it, and that's nothing wrong with that, right? To use the excuse that oh, the fan base is thirsty and this, that, and the other is just bullshit. That's absolute bullshit. So you you gotta I for me, it's like just take a look around and see what other teams charge and like figure it out. But you can hate what I'm saying all you want, but it it's true, it's a fact. These these are seasoned ticket holders, these are fans of these people, they know that you're getting charged $137 for lower level seats.

SPEAKER_03

Honestly, if it was supply and demand, though, I mean I was looking for lower Carolina.

SPEAKER_01

I know supply and demand. I get that.

SPEAKER_03

No, if but if it was only supply and demand, that's the prices just don't make sense because I mean the Carolina game, there was less than two percent left, and they were still only charging $110 per ticket.

SPEAKER_01

And that's a Stanley Cup contender, and Buffalo is a Stanley Cup contender, they are a wagon, dude. But okay, so that's it's and you know what? I get it. If people pay it, that's fine, but these people don't know any better because they haven't been in the playoffs forever and they don't know what teams are charging, and that's not a dig to them.

SPEAKER_03

I think that's the crutch of it, is they just haven't been there for so long, they weren't used to what the price tests.

SPEAKER_01

No, and it was like, you know, they say people were, you know, and people were paying it. I watched all the way up until the game started. Some tickets dropped all the way down to like 200 bucks because people were like, Yeah, nobody's gonna pay this, but you know, people were paying it. Okay, that's fine. Let them pay it. No big deal. I you guys know I've paid some pretty absurd prices for tickets in the past, so it has nothing to do with the affordability or like whether or not I've spent $1,500, $1,600 on a ticket. It's just it's like it's round one, game one.

SPEAKER_03

Like what are the prices looking at right now? I wonder. I'm gonna look that up.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I could I can get you right now. I've got it right here.

SPEAKER_03

Um I wonder if they've gone down.

SPEAKER_01

You're talking about Buffalo?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Hang on one second. Um like I'm already looking, I'm gonna go to I'm hoping Philadelphia and Pittsburgh make it because I'll be at game seven of that, and I'll probably pay four or five hundred a ticket, and that's fine. But let's see, game two. Let's go two tickets. We're 361. So it's like, okay, we're coming back down to Earth just a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

60 bucks. Huh? 60 bucks. I mean, that's probably it'll probably go down in even more the next game, the next home game.

SPEAKER_01

360. Yeah, you said it was 400 and yeah, that's what at the time of that I posted that, reposted that picture. Yeah, it was it was 464, I think. When I first looked, it was 733 dollars, cheapest upper level. Row 22, row Q or something. Some new alphabet letter. I like dude. I'm just like, what are what are you guys doing? What are we doing? Like, this is ridiculous. So, and again, people you know took all kinds of shots at me, and it was great. I was loving every minute of it. Dude, it was so great. I was literally loving it. One, my favorite was without saying the actual words was F off Brandon in all caps. I was like, Yes, this is actually happening. Let's go. Oh, I was so pumped, dude. I was like, please let this, please let this continue. And then it kind of went back and forth, but you know, again, some people were very confused and they thought this was like the sabres. And I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I talked to some season ticket holders. One season ticket holder has good seats in the lower level, they paid 167 a ticket. Face value, but and that person's section, $1,300. Stop. Stop. What are we doing?

SPEAKER_03

A ticket to man, that's dumb!

SPEAKER_00

It's game one.

SPEAKER_01

Anyway. So yeah, with that said, it's just, and you can go through and it's like, so I'm looking at, like I said, I'm if this game is uh if the pens get if this game series gets to game seven, which I still believe it will. I think Pittsburgh's gonna rebound, even though Philadelphia looks good again tonight. Um, sorry, wrong one. You can still get tickets to tonight's game. Let's see. 119. But there's 642 left in the upper level row A is still somebody just is messing around at this point. Um there's game five, game seven. Okay. Game seven right now, 366 a ticket.

SPEAKER_03

I can see that for game seven, though.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, 100%. I'll pay it all day long.

SPEAKER_04

Between those two teams, definitely.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, Brandon also knows. Um, game five here in Pittsburgh, 184. I like this is this is what normal people do. People that have been in the playoffs for a while. Um let's go back. You know, Philadelphia, you can look at. No, no. Oh my goodness gracious. I want just the Philadelphia Flyers. Let's just watch this. I have so many things like in the memory now that it's like, holy cow. Pittsburgh Penguins. At Pittsburgh Penguins. What is going on? I am old. There we go. Their first home game is 250. I in Philadelphia is 250 for a cheap ticket. That to me, again, game three, that's not bad. It's not bad at all. Game four. 203. So again, it's just like, let's, you know, let's just use our brains here. It's, you know, again, and I I know people get all up in arms and they're like, supply and demand, supply and demand. It's like, okay, whatever. So anyway, moving on. Anything else? What do you guys think?

SPEAKER_04

No, I just the three that stuck out to me were the were the Buffalo prices compared to LA, which you know the cost of living there is insane, but their tickets were only a hundred bucks.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_04

And then you have Montreal, which was 200, which that is supply and demand because that's a rabid fan base, right?

SPEAKER_01

And they those we even went up. Those were those, I think, before the game last night I saw even at one point they were up to 560, but I think that's because tickets just were going, you know, they were selling out.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's that's a selling supply and demand team right there.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, never mind, because game three. So, no, what was I thinking of? Dang it. I was thinking of another game. Sorry, Brennan. But yeah, you're absolutely right. We looked at I looked at so many series last night.

SPEAKER_04

The Buffalo one, that's just people trying to take advantage of the fact that they're back in the playoffs and just trying to see how much they can get for it.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, you can get two tickets to or one ticket to the Cardinal game, I mean not Cardinal, Carolina game right now for $141. Yeah. Which is just now starting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Is that lower level too?

SPEAKER_03

No, that's upper level.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. That's still I great. They're actually selling standing only. Yeah, SROs. Oh, yeah. Every team's got SROs.

SPEAKER_06

That game that uh Brandon, you and I went to with uh Coyote's Red Wings, they had standing room only.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, there was SROs right above us, Nick, at that game seven, actually. Like at the top of that stadium, there was, yeah, all those, you know, they have those where you can set your drink. They all and it was you and I were like way up behind the net for that game seven beatdown. Felt so good. It was like the last time the Red Wings were in the middle. Was it like seven to one or something, dude?

SPEAKER_06

Like all seven to one, six. Yeah, it was it was huge.

SPEAKER_01

I just remember Pavel Datsuk almost had a hat trick, or he did, or something, but yep, Red Wings Yotes. That was a whiteout night, too. Remember, we got those three white t-shirts. I have a picture of you in the parking lot downing some moonshine before you strapped another thing of moonshine to your inner leg, and in we went. Um, adult decisions were made that game, and I'm not I I regret none of them. You shouldn't. That was a great night. I don't know what we we did something afterwards. It was fun. Yeah, that was a good time. Game sevens are always the best, folks. Always the best. If you have a chance to go to a game seven, I recommend it. I've been to a ton now, and I love them all. So, anyway, with that moving on, let's get into the playoffs, let's get into reactions. Um, I'm gonna go through real quick and just say that all these series, for the most part, have been fired. That game in Buffalo, let's talk about game one in Buffalo. I'm just gonna start off with a bang. Because it the Sabres dominated that game from start to finish, start to finish, that that game one. And it it just for them to keep, they never looked panicked, they didn't really look frustrated, they were just doing the normal, you know, face wash, get off my goalie type stuff in front of the net. And then it once they get when when Tage Thompson got that one, you could just see the the frustration from the night to that point just coming out of him, like he was pumped. And then they get the second and tie it, and then to take the lead 50 some odd seconds later, that place. I guarantee that was the loudest building in in hockey. Like, like in the first round so far. Guarantee that place was you could hear it. The announcers were having a shout. So the atmosphere at that point looks fire because it was like you could tell eight and a half minutes left in the in the third, it was like the crowd was just kind of like, oh boy, they were kind of stunned at that point because they had been loud all night, but it was kind of getting down to the nitty-gritty where they were like, Oh man, no way this is happening. So, what'd you think, Steve?

SPEAKER_03

Um, my favorite game was actually the Tampa the Lightning and the Montreal game, even though I'm a Carolina fan. I mean, I love that game too, but that the back and forth between the Canadians and the Lightning, it was just and the overtime there. I mean, even though it only lasted a minute and something, but right.

SPEAKER_01

And it's this these series are only gonna get better, and we're gonna get further and further into it. It's I'm just glad we got to see a few games, um, and then we'll you know do another episode. It's dude, yeah. I mean, listen, the Tampa game was great. They just got a dumb penalty at the end of the end of the third period, and that's it. Montreal's power play right now, they are feeling it. So, brand of the stuff. Um, you went to game one, Utah and Vegas. Uh, what was your take there?

SPEAKER_04

Wild and fun atmosphere. Good amount of Utah fans there. They really turned out for their team.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it's close, a couple hours. Yep.

SPEAKER_04

That is a great team, but like I said, I think something happened to the previous outing because man, these teams came out swinging and hitting hard. They did not like each other, and the game ended in a scuffle between multiple players.

SPEAKER_01

But that was you're gonna have that's gonna be another series that I think was kind of unexpected with the physicality, but it's still the it's the same like a playoffs. I'm not surprised.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, earlier today, one of the Utah players just got fined five thousand dollars, I think it was for a headbutt. So, and then Dowd said, like, towards the end of the game to Cooley, uh, next game, he's looking for him and he's gonna effing kill him.

SPEAKER_01

So wow, yeah, I didn't hear about that yet. Yeah, holy smokes, and I've been reading news all day.

SPEAKER_04

Um, yeah, so this is gonna be a wild series between the two teams.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this is gonna be great. The other um, my so far, I think my favorite is still like as far as hype and like everything that's gonna happen is gonna be Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Nick, what do you think?

SPEAKER_06

Excuse me. Uh I'll be honest, the way to start the NHL playoffs is the way the Hurricanes and Senators started their game. That's how every team should start their game. Yeah, are you ready?

SPEAKER_01

Leave it to Kachuk and stall to start it off that way, too, dude.

SPEAKER_06

Like that's the term of the game. I know the senators didn't pull out the win, but they were it was a great game. Um, but my most fun game to watch for the entirety was game one and game two of the Pittsburgh Penguins. It's these guys hate each other.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I they Porta Matron, or oh man, am I saying that name right? Um, is a rookie, won the game, and I feel like he knows what to do in this series. He's been causing issues. We're watching it right, it's on the TV right here. I it's again, it's a great first period so far. We're nothing, nothing. It's again, this is just gonna keep going, guys. I I know this series is gonna be fire. I already am I made plans to go to game seven in Pittsburgh if this gets to game seven. If game seven was in Philly, folks, I'd be going to Philly. So I will not miss that. I'm also gonna take the fam. They have not somehow my wife has somehow not experienced playoff hockey. So yeah, I know. That is a marital crime, yeah. And of course, my son has been chomping at the bit to go to you know playoffs, and it's you know, I I I I get it. I get it. I get it. So but um on top of that, it it's I still think I you know our predictions, you know, we're gonna find out. It's still very early in the playoffs. Um, I think we're gonna go forward and just I I have I'm not gonna change anything. Does anybody have any second thoughts based on you know anything? Um how about Dallas, Steve?

SPEAKER_03

I'm I'm just hoping Dallas had a bad game.

SPEAKER_01

Um maybe they agree, you know, they're a little it's brutal.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, man, though Minnesota, they just dominated them that pretty much that whole game. I don't I'm not gonna take it back. I think Dallas, I think I picked did pick Dallas uh to to win the series.

SPEAKER_01

I think they still just because they had the home the you know home ice advantage, but it yeah, we're talking about Minnesota, who's uh who's a wagon too. I mean, they are a good team. They are a good team, good wagon to jump on. But oh sorry. I just yeah, man, I still feel like we hear you, Dylan.

SPEAKER_03

Ottawa almost scored.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I still feel that I don't, man. I I think Dallas will still pull it together. Remember, Dallas did this last year, too, if I remember correctly. Right? It's true. No, I think they did. And I believe they lost five to one or six to one as well. So maybe this is just a team that needs that wake-up call.

SPEAKER_03

That definitely was a that will be a wake-up call for them if it's anything.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Nick, how do you feel about that? Brandon, how do you feel about that, buddy?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I feel like Minnesota is still gonna beat him down, especially after that game, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Which do you think come back? I like Minnesota is a better team than they faced last year. So I, you know. It's gonna be tough. I I think Dallas can do it. So Nick, any thoughts?

SPEAKER_06

Uh I think all I'm trying to remember which team I said was gonna lose in four straight, and if I can still win that. Um but no, it's been I I do think that the Dallas Stars are gonna come out on top of that. They just have to, but the wild came out hungry.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I in Dallas, I feel like they're I I just feel like they're too good of a team to not come back and just I think they're gonna. I think it's personally, I think it'll be a statement style win against Minnesota in game two. I really do. I just I just do. And I know, I know Minnesota, again, is an absolutely just insane, you know, team, but until we're all watching a game somewhere. Yeah, but it's just anyway, it it it's I think it's gonna be a great, I think it's gonna be a great I I like Dallas again in that in that uh game two. So um as far as Ottawa and the hurricanes go, I I I think I feel like Ottawa's gonna come back and win a game or two, but it's god, they're so good defensively, but Jesus man, they had five shots on goal through in in game one, they had five shots on goal through through two periods.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That is absolutely brutal.

SPEAKER_03

So the way that I see it is Ottawa tries because they play very similar to the Carolina, their their play style. And I think that the problem that they're gonna have is they're gonna try to outplay Carolina with their own style, and I don't think it's gonna work for them. No, because Carolina likes to go fast and hit hard at the defensive line, and I don't think Ottawa can do can keep up with that through the whole game.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, all right, that's fair. I got you. So, with that said, uh, again, we are early in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Um, our predictions still hold true. Um, Steve, any last thoughts on the playoffs? Where do you think they're gonna go? Uh, real quick question Do you still think Boston's gonna beat Buffalo?

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I do. I mean, okay. I mean, I understand that they had a that you know, Buffalo did uh pretty much, you know, dominate them. But again, I think it's again it's only the first game. Okay, and we got you know six more to go, we got up to six more to go. I think that there's some the Bruins, they they have experience in it, so yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You say so. Brand Brand did the stuff in. What do you got, buddy?

SPEAKER_04

I got two call-outs to make for this.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I like it. Here we go.

SPEAKER_04

First, I gotta call out fanatics because the Utah because of the Utah playoff shirts that they sent out to their fans that ordered them had Utah spelled UA T H.

SPEAKER_00

No my Go on. No way.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Wow. Spell checkers existed for 40 years. No excuses, guys.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Wow. Well, I did get made fun of because I spelled savers wrong. It's R-E-S, not ERS. And then I just loved it. I left it that way. So um anyway. Carolina just got a power flaggle. What's your next one, buddy?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, shout out to a kid sitting next to me. I forgot his name. He's a 20-year-old guy. And there was a person in the section next to us that can just one of those people that just keep yelling, shoot the puck, shoot the puck, shoot the puck.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

And he finally yelled back at him. The puck's in the corner, dumbass. He finally shut up.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I love when fans get called out for being dumb. Nick knows. We've been to so many games together, and I cannot say like you'll be sitting there, and it'll be like guy just gets boarded into the boards and he's down. And they call him for a five-minute major on boarding, and the fans are like, What are you talking about? And it's like, hey, dipshit. Did you not open your eyes through the magic of sight and see that obvious penalty?

SPEAKER_00

Or a trip where the guy obviously gets tripped, and it's like, ow, you ref, buddy. You're an idiot. Always booing. I always I'm like, what are you booing at?

SPEAKER_01

You nitwits. Yeah. Anyway, Nick, go ahead. Brandon, love that story. That's awesome, dude. I freaking love it.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh. I think you should start any fan interaction at a hockey game with, can you explain to me the rules of offsides? And if they can, then you can have an interaction with that fan.

SPEAKER_01

If they can't, or icing. Or icing, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But explain to me icing before I have this argument with you. Yeah. Uh no, I just as far as this first these first couple games, I'm really looking forward to the tonight game. Uh I want to see these Islanders and Ducks go at it. Okay. Um I I am rooting for the for the for the Oilers. I just I like seeing that jersey in the postseason, and I I I do hope that they make a deep run this year. We'll see. They what? Um, I mean, I don't know how much how much longer Connor's got at this level. So hopefully they can hopefully uh they have a good season coming or a good series coming up. We'll see.

SPEAKER_01

All right. I like it. Um anyway. So with that said, guys, hope you're enjoying the Stanley Cup playoffs. Uh, please do so safely. Um, if you go to games, remember this, guys. You are not on the ice, you are not playing in the game, you do not need to fight or treat other opposing fans like trash. All right, that's just all it does is make you and your fan base look like trash. All right, take a deep breath, okay? Treat fans as you would want to be treated if you were there trying to enjoy a playoff game in another team's venue. Okay, act like adults, okay? Not like criminals. Okay? Come on. Let's let's be grown-ups here. Put on your big boy pants, act like an adult, not a ri-ri. I'm trying not to say the word anymore. Okay, so with that said, let's move on to this week's top five. Before we do so, go subscribe, like, follow, share, go subscribe to this podcast. We appreciate the support that we get on TikTok. Uh, please subscribe to our YouTube channel. And uh, yeah, again, go go follow, go subscribe to the uh podcast. We are on iHeart, radio, Apple, Android, all platforms. Please go follow us. We appreciate your support. So, again, with that, we are gonna move into our top five. This week's top five is best fan player or fan type interactions. So, with that said, number five, I'm gonna jump right into it. Okay, I'm gonna start it off big here. As a San Francisco Giants fan, I am gonna go with um Mr. Kemp, Dodgers former outfielder, who while in San Francisco walks up to a disabled fan in the Bay Area. This dude literally takes off his cleats, and you're like, oh man, what a cool player. Uh-uh. Didn't stop there. Takes off his jersey, signs the jersey to the fan, okay, then doesn't stop there. He takes off his pants. The pants, the the uniform pants that he wore in the game and signed them. He gave him his whole uniform, took off his hat, signed the hat, gave him whole uniform from head to toe. Hat, jersey, pants, cleats. Yep. I was like, yo, that is a real one. That dude is a real one.

SPEAKER_03

That's going the extra mile right there.

SPEAKER_01

I do not care in that moment about any giant Dodger rivalry. That's a good human being. Is that a player? That's a professional athlete who gets it. Is that Joshua Jones? Yeah, Kemp Joshua Jones. No, I don't know. This was a long, long time ago. So, anyway, shout out to Kemp. Thank you, Kemp, for being such a good ball player and a human being that gets it. Steve, what is your number five?

SPEAKER_03

All right. So mine, because I haven't, I mean, I've been to a lot of baseball games, but I am, you know, it's hard to say. I had a hard time picking out.

SPEAKER_01

Steve, have you ever had a hot dog at a baseball game?

SPEAKER_03

Shut up. I you know, it was hard to pick out an you know individual specific incidents. So uh, you know, um for number five for me would it be when outpla outfielders uh play catch with the fans, either in between yeah, shout out, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Innings or yeah, before the game.

SPEAKER_01

I love that. Okay, that's a yeah, fantastic. That's a good one. I like that. Uh, you see a lot of players. That's uh Steve, not no specific player. You're saying just in general, when players do that with the kids, it's a big deal. It's a huge deal to the kids.

SPEAKER_03

For those kids, I mean that's talk about remembering that game forever.

SPEAKER_01

It's just that's that's a core memory. Those players get it, they're doing the right thing. So great number five, Steve. Brandon, the stuffed trainer. Give us your number five, Buckaroo.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, any of this, I must say this was a very tough list to figure out the order for.

SPEAKER_01

Sure.

SPEAKER_04

I think I think I could have put these uh in different order on a different day.

SPEAKER_01

Honestly, man, to me, they're all number ones. I'm just going down a list. Yep. Go ahead, buddy.

SPEAKER_04

So my number five is from 1997, the WWF King of the Ring event. Okay between Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin. When a guy with uh Down syndrome, whose favorite wrestler Shawn Michaels gets upset that he's getting beaten. He gets over the barricade and comes to ringside to try and help Sean. Oh that's awesome. The security is trying to get him away, but they're being a little rough with him. And so Sean gets out of the ring, gets with the kid, he's helping him out, trying to, you know, just get him away from the ring, talking to him. Yeah, they find finds his uh guardian, and they take him backstage, and later on they he did stuff with him and gave him some autographs and stuff, and it's just like a great example of helping somebody like that.

SPEAKER_01

Awesome. All right, that's a great number five.

SPEAKER_06

Nick Brown, number five. Um, since I am in the last position, and this is usually where Brandon goes, the stuff. Um, I'm gonna start my list off with a WWE. Um Daniel Bryan and Connor the Crusher. Uh, I'm sure the stuff is familiar, yeah, but in so a WWE wrestler Daniel Bryan um formed a close relationship with an eight-year-old fan, uh Connor the Crusher. Uh Malikek? I can't say his last name. Um, who was battling cancer. Uh Brian dedicated his WrestleMania 30 victory, giving him a hug in the ring, and then later honored him um after he passed to cancer during his WWE Hall of Fame inductee speech, uh, making everybody in the crowd and listening around the world cry. Uh, just a great way to humanize humans and just, I don't know. I just I love that story.

SPEAKER_01

That's okay. Awesome. Thank you for the number five. All right, moving on to number four. My number four is going to be Ichiro Suzuki. Um, Ichiro Suzuki had a moment where he ran, caught a foul ball, and just bumped into a girl that was down the left field line. She literally went viral because she lost her mind. It was like this whole fan losing their minds. He just touched me. Oh my god, it's like you can just see here. The video went viral. Uh, people listening have probably hurt or seen this video. Um, especially if you're a Seattle Mariners fan, um, or and just anybody else in general. So it didn't end there. So she goes viral, the whole thing gets out in the public, and they decide to bring her in and they do like an interview with her. And sure enough, Ichiro decides after he had retired, guys. This is like afterwards, shows back up and does a whole dance, does the dance, does the thing, meets her, uh, signs some autographs and some other stuff. So it was just a really great moment for Ichiro to come back and give her that moment was uh was pretty special. Uh that one always stuck with me, so that is my number four. Uh Steve, what is your number four, buddy?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Brandon hit it on the you know, it's hard to put these in an order, but um mine number four would have been it's for uh Carson Wentz, NFL. Oh in 2017 when he gave his game ball to Lucas Custer. Okay, I was reading about that story, and apparently the kid had cancer, and he was wearing the kid's bracelet for a few games, and he ended up giving him the game ball out the day before the kid died from cancer. Oh wow.

SPEAKER_01

Oof, that's a that's a heart-wrenching one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so apparently, you know, it's just one of those where you know he was friends with the kid wearing his bracelets, and then you know, ends up giving the game ball a few days before the kid passes away.

SPEAKER_01

So that's a great, great story, Steve. Thanks for sharing that. That's a great one at number four. Again, folks, these uh these ones are this is kind of a special thing that we decided to do because some of the posts were kind of negative when it comes to fans. So we're bringing back players with fans and bringing back a positive, positive thing here. So okay, Brandon the stuff trainer, number four.

SPEAKER_04

Going to 2013 Cincinnati Reds, uh player Todd uh farmer, uh Todd Fraser. Sorry, think it was someone else. Uh he uh and their bat boy had Down syndrome in one game. Uh he asked uh Todd to hit a home run for him. He went right out there and he hit that home run. Rounds those spaces, comes back home. You see the two like celebrating in the dugout, he's got them up in his arms. Cool. It was just like a heart-wrenching moment, and it was wonderful to see.

SPEAKER_01

Sure, that's great. Thank you for sharing. Dying.

SPEAKER_06

Dying. Um, I couldn't find the video again, but it was a video, excuse me, of a kid at I believe a preseason game, and he had like four different types of packs of baseball cards, and he got the attention of one of the coaches.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know that's incident.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, which card like you want to open cards with me? You like baseball cards? And the coach is like, oh my god, yeah. So the coach came over, they opened up a pack of cards. They call it a break. Yeah, that would have been awesome already. Yeah, um, but after he opened, after this coach opened the pack of cards with this kid, he realized that some of the cards in this pack were players on the field from both teams, and he just went out in the field and got these guys to sign this kid's baseball cards. It was cool, and then brought them back to the kids.

SPEAKER_01

Great story, great video. Yep, it was awesome. That was uh the Mets, I believe. But uh yeah, uh just incredible. Great story. Yeah, great story, Nick. Thanks for bringing that one up. That was a great, great moment. So this was more of kind of an emergency. Baseball went out the window in this situation. There was an incident in Washington, D.C. at Nationals Park. If you've ever been to Nationals Park, you know that beyond the center field fence and left field, more left field, is pre-game, they have a huge block party, absolutely incredible, a ton of fun, really great stadium. It's Ashley's, one of Ashley's favorite stadiums, if not her favorite baseball stadium. But yeah, so you walk in, it's they call it a block party. You go in through the left field fence as you're walking up, you see the whole stadium backdrop. Really incredible. However, Nationals Park, guys, is in a tough, tough neighborhood. It's in a really tough neighborhood of DC. So a lot of violence, a lot of shootings, a lot of gang activity. So unfortunately, on a night during a baseball game, there was a massive gunfight. Nobody knew what was going on, where the gunfire was coming from. The players start running off the field. There's fans kind of just kind of panicking, they don't know what's going on. Not everybody reacts the way you're supposed to in an emergency situation, and that's stay calm, move, you know, peacefully. It's like people like myself and Nick who've been in the fire service, and it's you, you, you not everybody reacts. Nobody reacts the way you want them to in a situation like that. The players had the foresight from both teams separately without talking to each other. They start grabbing fans and open, they're like, get in the dugout, get in the dugout, get in the dugout. They push them in to the clubhouses. These players became rescuers. Yeah. Like that. Blink of an eye. Didn't matter. These guys were firemen, these guys were cops, these guys were EMS, just in a blink of a hat, grabbing fans and bringing them into the dugout and pushing them down the hallways into the clubhouse and where the batting cages are and those areas, and basically helping these fans find a safe place just in case this could this was a lot worse. They didn't know if it was an active shooter in the stadium somehow. They didn't know, but it was just a great moment at Nationals Park between those two ball clubs. Kudos, applause. So uh that's my number three. Steve, what is your number three? Great fan interactions.

SPEAKER_03

Um, my number three is actually because I kind of crap on him a lot for LeBron, but LeBron James is really good with his fans. I mean, that guy's always giving out something to a fan, almost all the time. I mean, all the time. If not every game, every other game, we're giving something to somebody. So it just him in general, his fan interactions. Awesome.

SPEAKER_01

Great. Thanks for sharing, Steve. Great appreciate it.

SPEAKER_06

Sorry, I just like your backhanded compliment. If it fits his near with it, it hates me so much right now.

SPEAKER_04

Bring the stuff trainer. What's your number three? My number three in 2014 soccer star, Clint Dempsey. Going off to the sideline, finding a young young fan, talking with him. Young fan offers him some of his popcorn. Yeah, Dempsey takes a handful of popcorn, eats it, and in exchange, he gives him the jersey off his back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I yeah. Great, great, great, great one, man. Absolutely great one. I absolutely love that. Um, Nick Brown, what is your number three?

SPEAKER_06

Uh, my number three, I'm pretty sure, is the same as your number five. It's Matt Kemp and a kid named Joshua Jones back in 2013. Um, like you said, he gave uh the Dodgers outfielder gave him the signball, his whole uniform, literally all of it, and a hat and cleats off his back. But what you didn't say is that Kemp later flew Jones and his whole family to a game in LA for a VIP experience shortly after that. I hope that's the same thing.

SPEAKER_01

I I really do.

SPEAKER_06

That's I think it sounds like the same thing, or he is or he has a huge allowance for pants.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we know he has a huge allowance for all of that at the time, especially because he was like a yeah, making like the middle of the year. I yeah, again, I hope I hope that's I hope that is. Real quick, second period 1820 to go. Philadelphia Pittsburgh. The shots are five two. Anyway, great uh great number two, great number three, Nick. Thank you for sharing that. That was honestly uh absolutely fantastic. I mean, that's that's great. Love it. I love the story. I hope that is the same thing. I'm imagining it is, because how often does that happen? His great as uh Kenpoint. I he was always a great, great just person in general. I love listening to his interviews. You know, people put too much emphasis on these rivalries, especially the fans. The Giants Dodger rivalry. I love the rivalry. I will never ever let a Dodger fan get assaulted, get beer thrown at them in any way, shape, or form. I will take care of my own fans if that happens. Which leads me to my number two. This is the response that is correct in the stance. At a game, Giants won in Philly, okay? It was a big game. It was the NLCS in 2010, okay? Getting harassed. Me and my buddies, Giants win. We are celebrating. The Giants are going back to World Series first time since 02. And what happens next is a guy throws a beer. It doesn't really hit us, but the cup hits some Philly fans in the front who are watching the Giants celebrate on the field. This fan behind us, by the way, was running his mouth all night. And we knew it's Philadelphia, dude. We're in the upper level, we're down the right field line, bro. For crying out loud. Like we are not in great seats. They weren't cheap, you know what I mean? It was playoffs. It was the Phillies were at their height. If you guys remember 2010, they had already won a World Series, then lost one, I believe. And so they were trying to get back to go to another World Series and possibly try to win. So the Phillies were an absolute wagon. This was Jimmy Rollins, Jimmy, our days. This was a good team. So anyway, this fan turns around, looks at us, and I'm like, oh my god, we're about to get into a fight with these lunatics.

SPEAKER_00

This fan goes right past me, up to that fan, boom, knocks this dude clean out. His face explodes, blood everywhere.

SPEAKER_01

The Philly fan knocked out the other fan and then walked back past us, gives us all nuts, and says, best luck in the series, boys. Great job. Like we had one. Lease your own, baby. Amazing. At least your own.

SPEAKER_03

There you go.

SPEAKER_01

Least your own. Mad respect for that Philly fan and that Philadelphia sports fan. That's how you handle garbage people. That's my number two, boys. Steve, what is your number two? I don't want to do number two after that. Well, after number three, it's okay, buddy.

SPEAKER_03

All right. So my number two is it looks like back in 2012, um, Elliot Johnson for the Tampa Bay Blue Jays responded to a tweet. Tampa Bay Blue Jays? Double racing? Double race, sorry. Okay. Double race. Yeah. Um responded to a tweet and um joined a bunch of fans out in the parking lot and warmed up with them. Playing catch, you know, stretching, all that kind of good stuff.

SPEAKER_01

That's cool. I love that. That's a great one. That's so neat, dude. Right on. Great number two, Steve. That's a good one. That's a good one. Yeah, but that really redeems you for your number three.

SPEAKER_03

All right, Brandon the stuff.

SPEAKER_00

What's your number two?

SPEAKER_04

My number two hates me. My number two is a relationship between Michigan State Star Adrian Payne and Lacey Holdsworth. Where Lacey was a cancer patient, child's cancer patient. Basically had it her whole life. You know, doing research. And okay, next thing you know, she was basically family to him, bringing him to games, involving him in all kinds of stuff, and he was helping her with all kinds of stuff. It was just that's that's how you use the platform making heartwarming story.

SPEAKER_01

That's awesome.

SPEAKER_04

I suggest watching it.

SPEAKER_01

Folks, if you if you caught that, Brandon, spell the name.

SPEAKER_04

Uh the player is Adrian Payne from Michigan State, and the Adrian Payne. The girl is Lacey Hallsworth.

SPEAKER_01

Lacey Hallsworth. Check it out on YouTube. Look it up, everybody. Go check it out. Check out the story. Brandon, thanks for sharing your number two. Nick Brown, what is your number two, my friend?

SPEAKER_06

Couldn't get in this list without involving some of my favorite teams. So we're gonna go to the Cubs. Um, okay. 2017, Addison Russell, the Nacho replacement. Um after inadvertently knocking Bardo or something. Anyway, after he uh dove into Addison Russell dove into the fan um the fans to try to get a foul ball and knocking over a Cubs fan's nachos all over. Um I see. He then personally brought back through the field a tray a new tray of nachos and stopped to pose for a selfie and have a short chat to say sorry for spilling your nachos. How cool would that be to get food delivered to you by a professional ball player to say, I'm sorry, I ruined your belt, your food.

SPEAKER_01

Like a hot dog.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe I would have had one if they somebody did.

SPEAKER_01

Was on the ice and he bumped the glass and knocked over a guy's beer. He had the uh equipment manager. He went up to the equipment manager, he's like, Hey Mud, do you have you got you have a 20 on you? And he's like, he's like, Yeah, why? He says, I'll pay you back. He's like, that fan right there over in the corner. Can you go grab him? Give him 20 bucks for a beer. He's like, I was banging up against the glass, and he's like, I knocked over his beer. It was literally just poured. He was like, just go grab it. He's like, and then if you want my wallets in my stall, go grab 20 bucks out of it. He's like, I think I have cash. I was like, That's dude, that's awesome. Yeah. So anyway, good number two. My number, now we'll go number one. My number one, on August 7th, 1982, Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Jim Rice saved the life of a four-year of four a four-year-old Jonathan Keene at Fenway Park. Rice instantly vaulted into the stands to rescue the boy who was bleeding severely from a fractured skull after being struck by a line drive foul ball. His prompt action, allowing for immediate medical attention, was critical to the child's survival.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

This guy saw, so in the fourth inning of the game, a foul ball off the bat of Dave Stapleton struck Jonathan Keene, who was sitting two rows behind the dugout. The Red Sox dugout. Jim Rice acted instinctively, jumping into the stands, scooping up the unconscious boy, and rushing him through the dugout to waiting medical personnel for the Boston Red Sox. You know he was a smart. So smart. Doctors at Boston Children's Hospital later confirmed that Rice's quick action, taking the child directly to the team doctor rather than waiting for stretcher, stretcher bearers, saved the boy's life. Remember, this is 1982. Paramedics weren't weren't what they are today. Okay? EMS isn't what they are today. Aftermath, Rice returned to the game, returned to the game with a bloodstained uniform. The boy underwent surgery for a fractured skull, made a full recovery, and later reunated reunited with Rice to throw out the first pitch. Dude, that to me is one of the greatest band player interactions of that time. So that is where I will end it. Steve, beat that, LeBron. Um, what is your number?

SPEAKER_03

Can't beat that one. That one's you know that guy was a father, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so mine was just yeah, incredible moment. So go ahead, Steve.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, mine involves golfer Emilio Emiliano Gorilla. Back in 2003, he was looked like he was um waiting for his final round, and he actually invited three kids to practice teeing off with him while he was getting ready for his final round.

SPEAKER_01

Very cool. Very cool. What a great moment for those kids to do that with a PGA tour star. Love it.

SPEAKER_03

He even showed him how to do it. So he was gonna give him lessons.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, free lessons from a PGA player. Who wouldn't want that if you love golf? That's awesome, dude. Brandon the stuff trainer, number Uno.

SPEAKER_04

My number one has already been said twice before. It's the story of Kemp. That's an amazing story, and what put her there for me was uh what Nick said about flying him down to the Dodgers game.

SPEAKER_01

That it's again Kemp was all like I said, I I've already said it all. I I agree, Brandon. It's just he's just such a good dude. Um just overall, just a great person. I just that's a great story. Seeing him do that in the video, I'm just like, Jesus, when is he gonna stop?

SPEAKER_00

Like it was just incredible. What kid? It's it's that would be the best moment of your life. Yeah, I mean, you've been going down all the way into your clean since pants and everything, jerseys, signs and all amazing, dude. Kemp.

SPEAKER_01

Our hats off to you, Buckaroo. Thank you, Ken. That was just it's just amazing. So um, great one, Brandon. Nick Brown, number one.

SPEAKER_06

Send it. We're gonna end this one with the University of Iowa Hawkeye Wave. Uh, I don't know if you guys are all aware. No, yeah, that's a great one. Tradition at University of Iowa football, where 70,000 fans all stop both sides, turn around and wave to all the patients, families, staff at the uh UI Steed Family Children's Hospital that is like part of or right next to the stadium. Yeah, and it's just awesome to see everyone just waving support, giving them a little bit of love.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, it's an incredible event, incredible moment. Every home game they do it. It is yeah, it's it's the best.

SPEAKER_06

It's it's really neat. It just makes me feel all over places that I don't talk about in public.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And with that, final thoughts, Steve, for this week's episode. That's our top five folks. Don't forget to like, follow, subscribe, share. SPEAKER_03

If this uh Hurricane Senators series is gonna be like this game for the rest of them, it's gonna be a good series. I don't know if anybody else is watching this series or this particular game, but this is crazy.

SPEAKER_01

I've got pens in Philly up right now, and it's ridiculous. They're absolutely they just don't like each other. The shots goalie for hurricane 494. This is just block shots. People are putting their bodies on the line. It's not because they're not trying in this one, but people are just putting their body on the line, man. It'll heal. It'll heal. Or you know, a surgeon will fix it.

SPEAKER_04

He's got a nice little smile on his face. Don't know what's happening to him. What's going on? Oh, there you go. There you go.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. What did you last hear?

SPEAKER_04

Just uh putting players putting their bodies on the line blocking shots.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Yep. Yeah, it's Stanley Cup playoffs. Guys are putting their body on the lines. Stanley Cup playoffs. We love it. Let's go. Uh, Brandon the Stuff Trainer, what is your final thought, bud?

SPEAKER_04

Final thought going back to talk about reselling tickets. Never thought about the fact that today's children will never know the term scalping tickets.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Something that's disappeared.

SPEAKER_01

I you know what's funny, real quick, about that. Nick and I, we were talking about that game seven that we went to. God, Nick, do you remember what year that that that was? I'd have to look. Oh nine, I think, is what I think it is. Almost positive it was 2009, Stanley Cup Last. We were walking in, and you at this point, you could now buy tickets on StubHub. And a lot of times uh back then people didn't know. I I already knew because we again travel a lot. Was that ticket scalping at that point was now legal? You could do it. But back then it was like we were walking up, Nick. I don't know if you remember this, but there were two officers, and people selling their tickets had to stand in like a cordon-off area of a smoker, it was like a smoker section, they couldn't leave because that was where it was legal.

SPEAKER_06

You remember that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so it and Brandon, you're right. It's like looking back on man, you they had sting operations when people were trying to sell tickets. I remember there was an episode of cops that covered the Super Bowl. I don't remember which one, so you know, don't ask me what Super Bowl, but the episode literally was cops going around trying to nab people for Super Bowl tickets. I will say this. If you're going to the Super Bowl, the Final Four World Series, anything major, Stanley Cup final, NBA finals. If you're going to an event of that magnitude, get online. And if you're not gonna buy tickets off of vivid or you know, stub hub, like for the Super Bowl, there's no digital tickets. You get you have to go to like a vivid or stub hub, like table that they'll have, or we'll call whatever it may be. But there's a spot that was set up, like for instance in Indianapolis, we had to go to an area, or you would find a scalper that was set they were selling fakes, and the fakes can be pretty impressive. So you look up and you look up number one, what all tickets cost? What are the face value of every level? Because when they hand you those tickets, you can be like section 427 is a is a club level. 600, the face value is 800. Why is this 400 level saying 450? It's a fake. So understand what the face value of the tickets are for events of that magnitude so you can look at the tickets and confirm that. Know as much as you can, knowledge is power. Okay, and again, look online for what fakes are running around. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Brandon's advice for the evening.

SPEAKER_01

Nick, final thoughts.

SPEAKER_06

Uh, final thoughts. You were a year off. We went to game seven April 27th of 2010. 2010. Okay. Um, but no, I just I'm gonna I'm gonna encourage everyone to watch one playoff hockey game before you listen to us again next week. Like and subscribe. Um, because this is like the best part of this entire sport is postseason hockey. I mean, we talk about Olympics, we talk about the um Four Nations tournament, like all the fun stuff that hockey's doing. It's nothing compared to postseason hockey. You guys need to watch a game before you come back and see us next week. If you can afford it, you go to it demerit.

SPEAKER_01

If you can afford it, go to a game depending on what's the absolutely love.

SPEAKER_03

Even if you're not a fan, you don't have to be like a team.

SPEAKER_06

Go to a game. Go go sign up for a fake credit card with some fake number and get a free t-shirt and then go watch a hockey game. Become a fan.

SPEAKER_01

Become a fan. I love it. You will become a fan after going. Yeah, let's go. Absolutely. I took Steve to his first playoff game, and he loves hockey. So, folks, you gotta try it. Do it, follow our lead, go to a game, watch a game. We love it. Thanks, everybody. Don't forget to like, follow, subscribe, share, do all the things. Follow us on YouTube, TikTok. SPEAKER_04
