SPEAKER_00

Hey everybody, welcome back to Full Strength Podcast. New episode. Welcome back for another great week. Um, we've got uh we had some MVP MMA going on. Um got the NBA playoffs going on, we've got the Stanley Cup semifinals wrapped up going on. We've got our picks for the conference finals. Who is going to the Stanley Cup final? And we've got some really great series coming up. Um, a lot of news, too. We've got some NFL news, we've got a little bit of uh hockey news outside of the Stan Cup playoffs. Um, huge news from the PWHL. Also, the Walter Cup is in full swing. Um, and we'll get through some uh other stuff. Just a lot of good, uh great busy sports week, essentially. Um but uh yeah, we'll start it off. Steve, how was your week? It was good, it was um easy actually.

SPEAKER_03

It was kind of nice.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't a lot going on this week. Yeah, there wasn't a lot going on. Oh, not busy. Yeah, that's always a good thing. God, I wish there was nothing going on some weeks. Brandon, how's your week?

SPEAKER_05

My week was good too, like Steve's. Mine was nice and quiet, just enjoyed a nice weekend home. Nothing special.

SPEAKER_02

This is right on, man. Nick, how's your week? You guys got it all got off easy. Uh, my week, I had a birthday party that I had to take my kids to, axe throwing, laser tag, bike rides, and my kids have found Foursquare to be a semi-Olympic sport that they would like to uh get coached in. So we've been playing Foursquare about two hours every day. Uh but been having uh it's been great. Uh been loving watching the wrap up of the second round of the NHL and ready to talk about it.

SPEAKER_00

Awesome. Yeah, I did a crazy trip last night. Um, I left work, I'm working down in West Virginia right now. That's a whole experience in itself. Um, and I drove, I left work at like 11 a.m., drove all the way up to Buffalo, went to game seven against the Canadians, and then got about four hours of sleep and drove back down here and went to work today. So it's about a four and a half, five hour drive. But yeah, it's I'm after this, I'm going straight to bed. So anyway, still pretty good.

SPEAKER_03

Four and a half hour drive? What's that? From West Virginia to Buffalo.

SPEAKER_00

Well, the Buffalo, it's about six.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, that's okay.

SPEAKER_00

So but uh yeah, anyway, so uh we got big news, big news, big, big, big news out of the PWHL. So we were talking about it, and there was all rumors going around. So it turns out the PWHL is expanding into four new cities. They will be playing in San Jose, they will share the Shark Tank SAP Center with the San Jose Sharks. Uh PWHL will be coming to Las Vegas, they will play at T Mobile Arena. Um, Hamilton, Ontario will play at uh out of a TD Coliseum and Detroit of the inaugural mission. It doesn't really say where they're gonna be playing exactly.

SPEAKER_02

Actually, it says Little Caesars in my research that they will be at Little Caesars.

SPEAKER_00

I would imagine it's gonna be Little Little Caesars Arena. So yeah. Um great great news. That league is I I mean, in my opinion, that league is killing it. Um, you got a great Walter Cup final going on right now. Um, if anybody's watching, every single one of these games is has insane finishes. Like Ottawa last night, uh down one to nothing, five and a half minutes left in the third, ties it, and then with 56 seconds, Ottawa wins it at home to stave off elimination. They only do five game series right now in the PWHL. I imagine they're expanding as fast as they are. Two teams this year, you had Vancouver and Seattle, and now you've got San Jose, Las Vegas, Detroit, and Hamilton. So they're going to 12 teams now. They're selling out buildings, too. I mean, it's like it's it's it's wild. Steve, what do you think, man?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and a side note to that, whoever designs their website needs to get that fixed. It's just not very user-friendly.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's not great. I know, but how do you feel about the expansion?

SPEAKER_03

I think it'll be great for them. Uh, you know, it's again, it's an up-and-coming league. I mean, it's gonna be interesting. Uh, we talked, I think we talked about it a couple weeks. We thought there was only two. Now there's four. So, I mean, they must be doing something right if they're expanding four teams in one year.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I think there's gonna be more cities to come. Honestly, I could see Denver does really well. Like, they've played some exhibition games in Denver um at the Pepsi Center and they sell it out. So, um, you know, you're already in some big markets now, so I don't see why maybe you wouldn't see like LA, maybe. Um, I could see LA. Um, you got other, you know, cities up in Canada that I think will be, you know, good, but again, I'm sure they're I'm sure they're doing their research. They're gonna put the teams where they're gonna succeed. Um, you know, they're already making money is the biggest thing. Like they're making money, something that WMPA has never done.

SPEAKER_05

So um, Brandon, what do you think? I think it's great. And no, they're gonna be successful here. And I mean, like, the there's already like uh the league for the girls, you know, school-aged girls, that's been incredibly successful here. So I know it'll just continue with this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I yeah, girls' hockey is huge in a lot of a lot of areas. It's it's one of the best, it's uh it's a growing sport in the United States alone. But like, yeah, I know every single organization in Western New York, they've got they've got girls' teams. A lot of them start like at the higher end elite levels at like 12 or 13, but yeah, it's doing well. Um, Nick, what do you think? Detroit's getting a team. You're a big Detroit fan.

SPEAKER_02

No, I'm I love that. Um, and it was like you were talking about earlier how they've been doing those um neutral site uh games. Yeah. Uh they sold out the Pepsi Center, and that's why Detroit, I mean, multiple times the last couple years, they've had neutral sites in Detroit, and that's why Detroit got one. Yep. Um, I was I know Brandon, you really don't care about these team colors, but they've announced all these team colors, and I really want to see the San Jose is listed as orange, blue, and white, uh, inspired by the San Jose City flag. I think that I'd like to see what that jersey is gonna look like. And then the Detroit team is black silver with red accent. I think these, I think these uh have a really cool chance of being really good looking jerseys. Cool. I like me jerseys, but no, uh, I'm excited. It's cool to see. I mean, we have even the team the team announced in Vegas that that's the first time that they're gonna be in the southwest, which is closer to me. So that's always nice.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, you're I mean, being in Flagstaff, it's not what is it, three and a half hours to Vegas? Four? Yeah. To the strip. I mean, yeah, that's I mean, that's not bad. No, I mean to go make a weekend.

SPEAKER_02

I can go look, I can go stay with the stuff for a couple days and go see a game. Yeah, it'd be bad right here.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I that sounded yeah, that sounded like some kind of invitation to something else, but cool.

SPEAKER_05

Hey man, hey, however, he wants to take it, I'm cool.

SPEAKER_00

However, he wants to take it. Yeah, this is going south really quick. Um P Tells. So moving on from the you know, PWHL again, uh, Walter Cups just, I mean, it's it's it's fun. You can watch it. I I like the physicality of it. The girls have said, you know, they a couple years ago, I remember they were like, why are we, you know, stop babying the girls? Stop babying them, let them play the game. I know that was a big push point for me, is like let them play hockey the way they want to play hockey. They want to play hockey the way it's meant to be played. So there's physicality now, there's a lot of hitting. Um, they still aren't allowed to hit like open ice, you know. If it's a if it's a legal hit, let them hit. Um, I think the next thing is gonna be the cages coming off at the pro level. Um, I agree with it. So, you know, I think I think there'll still be some good changes, all for positive. And I think the yeah, I think the league is just gonna get more and more successful. So pretty excited about it. Um, in other news, we had uh outside of hockey. So um, we're starting to see some of the stuff. Vancouver has fired, well, it fired everybody. GM head coach. Uh that organization's kind of going. So we're starting to see some movement from uh you know head coaches and things like that being fired. Um and then one other thing, so the Las Vegas Golden Knights Day was it? John Tortorella doesn't like doesn't like talking to the media. I remember some of my favorite interviews was when he was head coach of Philadelphia and then also the New York Rangers. He doesn't give a shit. And I dealing with the sports media in some of these markets is just it's it's pay it's gotta be painful. I mean, absolutely painful. Some of the questions that I hear just getting asked, and I'm not gonna repeat them or anything, but it's like what I would definitely get fined. I mean, wholeheartedly. I mean, I would try not to, but it's like I would just some if I was you know in the wrong mood, I would just look at these guys like, are you are you dumb? Why would you ask me that question? And that's what John Tortorella kind of is. So he got fined $100,000 and it cost Las Vegas this year's second round draft pick. So um they tried to they tried to appeal it, and NHL said, nope. Nope, everything stands.

SPEAKER_03

That just got losing a draft pick, isn't that kind of steep for not just talking to the media?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm in my opinion, yeah. But it rules are rules, it's in everybody's, it's in it's in your contract. It's it's in everybody's contract, man.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, have they been in trouble though before for media issues? Because 100,000 hundred thousand dollar fine, that's the max financial penalty for the coach to face. Is that like and to to go max if this was his first his first time, you know, not opening up the dressing room to the media. I just was curious why they went so severe.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he's he felt that the players didn't want to talk to the media, or he didn't think that they needed to talk to the media, so it's like, yeah, and the media is overly sensitive all the time.

SPEAKER_05

So you know that yeah, I think the draft pick penalty is a little unfair considering that Tortarella is only still contracted till the end of the playoffs.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he's yeah, whether he gets re signed or not is another story. He's a good coach, it would be a good signing. Um, but yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I was just looking it up, and they they they have not made an official response to it either, and it says they won't.

SPEAKER_00

No, they I gotta they I was on NHL.com earlier. They said that yeah, they're the the fine and everything's being upheld. It's not it's not going anywhere.

SPEAKER_03

No, I mean I mean the comments about like them like the coach or the players commenting on the fine or you know, losing they literally literally says we put out a statement for the organization. That's we have no comment, and that's that's all they've said.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's great. Yeah, no comment. Basically, you guys remember Middlefinger?

SPEAKER_02

I love it. You guys remember when Beast Mode had got in trouble for at a Super Bowl for not doing like media day or whatever, he just sat there for 30 minutes eating Skittles, saying yes or no answers to all the questions until his time limit was, then he's like, peace him out. Um it sucks because the media does interfere with the understanding of the game, trying to bring in outside things like what you know, like what did this make you feel like seeing this in the news yesterday? Mike, what are you talking about? I just played hockey or whatever it is, it's just a waste.

SPEAKER_00

I wouldn't deal with it, though. I wouldn't deal with it well. Uh Rashid Wallace, like his team, the Portland Trailblazers, was literally getting fined because he kept he refused to talk to the media. And then he had a moment just like Marshawn Lynch did in the Super Bowl. This was years prior, but he was just like the guy, the the the boys did great, or the guys did great. That was his response to every question, and they the NBA fined him for that, and they started finding the team. Some people just don't like to talk to the media. I mean, I don't see anything wrong with that. No, it's it, yeah, it's it's I don't know. It's just like whatever, dude. Like, come on, like stop. The media is yeah, they're and you have cities like Toronto. I like I don't I I wouldn't play, I wouldn't play in Toronto just because of the media and a close second to fans there. I mean, it's like, and not all the fans, but you know, it's the loud ones, yeah. Um, again, so real quick in other news, anybody see the Chiefs, Rasheed Rice is gonna serve a 30-day jail sentence per weed. He was convicted, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So and that's not including that the league hasn't even come down with whether he's gonna be suspended for any games yet or not. I like because that's just for the OTAs in preseason, right? So they haven't even talked about the regular season yet, which he'd probably be suspended for at least one or two games for violating the substance.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's like protocols. I don't know. Whatever. I mean, it's like, yeah, there's rules you gotta follow them. You know, it's like one of those things, you can dislike them all you want, but it's like it is what it is, whether you agree with them or not. If you can compete, unfortunately what's that?

SPEAKER_05

If you can compete at that level while still high, I think you should get a bonus. You heard it here first, folks.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean that's a good way to look at it.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, if you think about it, yeah, bonuses for players. Yeah, and I get what Brandon's saying, though. It's we're talking about, you know, I don't know, whatever your stance is on marijuana. It's like what are we talking about? It's not like they're out doing crack or you know, what was it? The penguins Kevin Stevens. Remember that guy? Remember, he got busted. He was and this guy was incredible. He was a hundred a point year guy, uh year guy, a player. He played next to Mario Lemieux and Yarmer Yager when they won their back to backs. Like Kevin Stevens was amazing. Came out a prostitute and drug addict called Kevin Stevens. You have crack heads, she said, but he's a crack monster. It's one of the greatest quotes. It was in a sports illustrated.

SPEAKER_04

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Kevin Stevens had you know problems with drugs, and he's good today, but it was like, yeah, it it was it's a great article. The quote is amazing, it's one of the funniest. And she was like, I've seen crackheads, but he was a crack monster. So it's like, listen, there's still people, they still make mistakes. It's like, and then you know, people want to hold them over the coals. It you look at I just because I've been seeing this and the derogatory comments from the again, there's certain type of person out there that is just about worthless. But um, Carter Hart is killing it right now in net for Vegas. It's like they finally have a goalie, and it's like it next year is gonna be really interesting, and it it's and again, they're still in the playoffs, but yeah, there's still people out there that are like if you get accused of something, it doesn't matter what it is, if you get accused of something, there's a certain type of person out there that is just can't let it go, and it's like the dude didn't do anything.

SPEAKER_03

Accusation is enough for some people, yeah. Especially if it's a woman saying it, then then you you're supposed to you have to believe him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know. And in his situation, the girl came out and she was like, No, I never said no, no, I I'm the one that approached them. It's like I wanted to get by four dudes or whatever it was. You read the transcripts from the from the from the trial, and I'm sitting there and I'm like, why did this idiot prosecutor even bring this to trial? High profile. I guess make a name for herself? I don't know. The judge was kind of just like, yeah, we're done here. Not in so many words, but anyway, it's just yeah. So but uh anyway, yeah, that's all I got. Um, uh one of the things, so hockey worlds is going on right now. Um, real big deal for Team Canada. I don't know if you guys saw this, but Macklin Cellebrini was named captain over Sidney Crosby. And I want to point this out, Sydney Crosby was kind of like, it's time, like he pushed for it. Um, you know, he was kind of like, you know, Macklin is the future of the league, and this, that, and the other. And so for the first time since 2008, Sidney Crosby is not the captain of Team Canada. Wow.

SPEAKER_03

What do you think? How does Canada feel about it? I mean, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Good. Good, very supportive. It's just it's an end of an era.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he's passing the baton.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Crosby's still wearing an A. But yeah, it's the first time. And yeah, Celebrini's absolutely killing it in the world in the world championship. So yeah. There was an insane display earlier from Porter Matrone, who just joined the team and made this ridiculous no-look pass to Macklin. Goalie didn't have a shot. So, but again, big big deal, end of an era. You know, how many more years does Crosby really have? So it's gonna be interesting. The penguins are gonna have to probably it's gonna be soon, they're gonna have to look at a rebuild. So, you know. Anyway, any thoughts?

SPEAKER_02

I have a question about the worlds. Do they use NHL rules or Olympic rules?

SPEAKER_00

No, it's international rules. International rules.

SPEAKER_02

I guess that makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

Hence, hence the the the world. Name of the competition. So no fighting? And and the fact that they are playing countries.

SPEAKER_03

So that means no fighting, right?

SPEAKER_00

You know, I there are, yeah, I mean no official fightings where you can throw money. You are likely to get a game misconduct for a fight, yes. Okay, Olympic rules, essentially, international rules. So it's it's different than the four nations, if that's what you mean. You know what I mean? Like you can't just, yeah, they're not gonna go out and just start lambasting each other. It's you know, it's it is what it is. So um, NHL draft also is only oh, I guess it's never mind, only it's a month away. Never mind. Too soon. Too soon. A little bit. Nothing going on in the MLB. Anybody uh, what do you guys think? Baseball is actually kind of like teams are kind of falling into, I don't know, they're kind of like starting to fall in line at where they're gonna start struggling or where they're gonna be in the standings. So it's like the standings are kind of established. We're almost two months in, or we're pretty close to two months in. You got the better teams that are starting to stretch out and look like they're coming into form. It's like, you know, there's teams struggling. Um, I was looking at something we covered. Remember that we a couple weeks ago we talked about the pirates and how they're they had like a bunch of bullpen guys that pitched that game and they went they had a perfect game and then just completely lost it. Dude, so their bullpen, their starters have left the game 11 times with a lead and they've lost those 11 games. Ugh. Yeah, I brought that up pirate. That's a horrible statistic. That's brutal, dude.

SPEAKER_03

Those relief pitchers, man, that's gotta be that's hard.

SPEAKER_00

That's uh that's I mean, I'm just saying, that is a hard stat. That cannot, like what I'm saying, like guys, that can't continue for that team the whole year. Otherwise, yeah, they'll be looking at a uh at a high draft pick.

SPEAKER_03

That's when the coach starts thinking, should I just throw a starter in there after my starter?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I mean, I that's kind of where we're that's where that's headed, right? Like, I don't know. I was just looking at it, I'm just like, man, that's brutal. The one team I I'm surprised by Tampa. Bay. You guys seen Tampa Bay? 31 and 15. What's that, Brandon? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, three above the Yankees.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, they're the only 30-win team for the American League.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. The AL Central doesn't look great. Cleveland's leading at 27 and 22. But again, it's it's no longer, we're no longer able to say, like, okay, yeah, we're, you know, it's they're just they're getting warmed up. It's like, yeah, we're almost 50 games in, so it's like that division looks a little rough. And then the AL West, the first place athletics are 23 and 24, one game below 500.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, otherwise, like the NL looks good. It's like you've got your teams on top, like Atlanta, Chicago, Chicago, and Milwaukee. Um, you've got San Diego and LA. It's like, and then you got the rest of the teams like below. Um, Giants have shown a little bit of sign of life lately. Um, Arizona, I Arizona's, I think, a like a little bit of a sleeper, to be honest with you. Um, and also, I forgot all about St. Louis. So, anybody have any takes? Nick?

SPEAKER_02

Uh, I mean, I don't know about a hot take or anything, but it's it's interesting, and it's it's still early for me to be like to dive head in. I'm gonna wait probably another week until the uh NHL Stanley Cup's over, and then I can only have one sport to focus on. Um but it's really neat to watch. I've been watching a lot of the uh NL Central games, and they're all they're all really good, and it's it's funny watching them attack these.

SPEAKER_00

Last place is 500. That's a good division, honestly. This year, it's not a bad division. It's like years past, yeah. It's been kind of like NL Central's kind of an afterthought, but it's like they that's I uh right now I'm I can go back and look, but I'm pretty sure it's the best division in baseball.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean, you have three teams above 25.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I it is.

SPEAKER_02

Um it's it's fun. Uh, I was gonna see if you guys had seen that uh that poor gentleman on the Mets broke his leg who broke his fibula, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because uh I think it was a hundred and something mile an hour rebound off of the comeback on that and snapped it. Yeah. Not completely. I mean a fraction didn't go at least wasn't a clean break, but damn, that's gotta be brutal.

SPEAKER_00

Six to eight weeks, I will tell you, just like medical standpoint, like it's like that is the smaller of the two bones, so it's like that is just a little bit of positive there.

SPEAKER_02

They're saying six to eight weeks to let the bone heal, and then another six, uh, four to six to build it back up.

SPEAKER_00

I'll I'll bet you he's back sooner, though. I mean, it's you know what I mean. I it was a hundred and eleven mile an hour comeback. Yeah, remember the ball leaves the bat faster than the pitchers pitching it, so it's like you always forget about that. Those comebackers of the mound are not friendly. No, yeah, I wouldn't want to. I think pitchers like I I don't know if I would want to pitch, you know what I mean? It's like meh. Hard pass, no.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, and that's Brutal. Apparently, he was the most consistent starter for the uh for the year, too.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he was the he was the best starter, and he's out for months. Yeah, yeah. That's gonna hurt.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I you think quite literally, right? Quite literally, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, what's going on with the Cubs there? Uh Nick, they're they went for three for seven in the last 10 games.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know. I saw a more um but we've been playing like the Cardinals last week the Cardinals.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the Cubs. The Cubs are nine and one in the last ten.

SPEAKER_03

That's why I brought it up because we talked about it last time.

SPEAKER_02

It was nine and one. Now it's three seconds. Aren't gonna let me be like forget that I was a cub schnob last week, and now I'm like, no.

SPEAKER_00

Speaking of baseball, speaking of baseball. Steve, you've been to a game lately and had a hot dog?

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god, no. I do plan on I I'm this summer I'm going to go to a couple Durham games, though. Some bowl games. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

We've heard it two months ago.

SPEAKER_02

I'm excited for you to go have a hot dog and learn how to use social media at the same time. Oh, yeah, that probably won't be me, though.

SPEAKER_03

That'll probably be my daughter using the social media.

SPEAKER_00

She's gonna feed you the hot dog too. Um, I probably won't have one.

SPEAKER_03

Probably have nachos.

SPEAKER_00

No, Brandon. You still have minor league baseball in Vegas, they're building the new stadium in Vegas. Like, do you go to any of those games?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I alcohol once you know my summer starts.

SPEAKER_00

I still remember when it was the stars.

SPEAKER_05

Many moons ago.

SPEAKER_00

And then it was the 51s. Yeah. Oh, oh my god. What was that supposed to? What was that? What's the 51s? Area 51.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, oh my god. The National State? No, I get it now. That's funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I used to know guys that worked for the National Test Site Fire Department.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that was such an awful bar ballpark.

SPEAKER_00

The old one? Cashman. It was a cashman field, it wasn't that bad. I you and I were at a game, and remember what was it? Like a foul bunt that just kind of comes floating over to the back screen, and I caught it. It was that was funny. Everybody started cheering. I stood back up and held up the ball.

SPEAKER_02

Like you won the game.

SPEAKER_00

No, I was actually, I didn't want to do it. I was like, it was a bunt foul ball. Like anybody could have caught this ball. Like settle down. But anyway, yeah, it's I there's nothing nothing big. I just I don't know. It's uh I'm trying to think of like who's kind of disappointing right now. Actually, you know, I'm kind of surprised the Nats are 23 and 25. Like, they're not they're not horrible, you know what I mean? Like they're kind of coming out of their rebuild, they've gotten some young talent as of late. It's but yeah, it's interesting. You got St. Louis at 27 and 19, Milwaukee 27 and 18, and then the Cubs uh 29 and 19. I'm sure they'll be 500 soon enough. Um, with the way that they're going.

SPEAKER_03

At least the Braves have pulled back on their dominance a little bit. They've kind of given up a little bit of uh a little bit of room.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, they're just letting them get caught up a little bit, making it more interesting. Yeah, they'll take off. They'll be like psych bitches.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know. Phillies have won the last five games, so yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Phillies, listen, remember, we talked about I I think a couple of us agreed that the Phillies are gonna get hot. They still have a good team, like they're they're gonna get hot, they're gonna get rolling, and it's just gonna be like, yeah. I could still see them, they're gonna compete for the division. I know they're seven and a half back right now, but it's just you know, middle of May.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, I what's that? No, I said the Phillies are hot too. They've been they're eight and two over the last ten. They they've definitely been doing some climbing in their division.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I yeah, they're gonna they're gonna be alright. Yeah. Anyway. Um, all right, so let's dive into NHL, NHL playoffs. Um series are done, boys. Um, I got a chance to um again, I was there. I went went to game seven last night. Pretty like the the atmosphere was awesome. Um, if you're not subscribed to our YouTube, at least go check out the new video. I posted a vlog. Um, I did the one like uh I did the little wheeling one in uh here in near in Wheeling, West Virginia. That was a fun game. Um I did a game video vlog, vlog, sorry, uh, for the penguins and flyers. And so last night I had a chance to go to game seven, sabers and canadiens. Great, what an atmosphere. It was great, it was a lot of fun. And you know, what we did. We I bought a team t-shirt and went and you know, just rooted for the home team, but uh it it was it was pumping. Decibel meter got up to 124.4 last night. That actually surpassed Carolina, which was a very loud barn. Um, really got up there when they tied. That was uh the eruption of the crowd, and it sustained it 123, 124 and a half for a couple of minutes, actually. Like it was deafening, and it was right after Dallen scored in the third to make it 2-2, and it was just what an atmosphere. It let's a fantastic game, yeah. Great game, went to overtime. I'm sitting here thinking I gotta drive, and I'm like, of course it's gonna go to overtime. Of course, hey, at least it wasn't a double overtime. Stanley Cup playoffs game seven, of course, it's gotta go to overtime, right? It's it's the whole thing. So um, absolutely incredible. It was my son Hudson's uh first um NHL playoff game, and then it was the wife's yeah, first like game seven experience. They had a blast, dude. The whole thing is it's always fun to go to a game seven, it's always intense. Um so again, it the savers need goaltending. I'm just gonna throw that out there. Like Luke and he played well last night, but that last goal. I'm I'm sorry, I just don't see a lot of other elite goalies letting that one get by them. Good shot. No, it was a good shot. Unfortunately, it was on a turnover. Um, in their uh in the Buffalo was in the offensive zone and they turned it over. It it over time, they just came out really bad the first six minutes. They looked flat, yeah, very flat.

SPEAKER_02

As strong as they were at the end of the third, like just like what happened?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they dominated the second and the third.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I mean, dominated, and it was just yeah, because they weren't looking good during the first period. By the end of the first period, I figured I looked like Milwaukee was gonna run away with it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they it was but that's what Buffalo's done this playoffs. They come out in the second and third and just they're really good. Um, and it hats off to Dobish last night, man. That goaltender, like if you watch some of the saves that that kid made, he's why Montreal won. For sure. There was many times I watched him flash in the leather, just oh man, and even if he didn't catch it, just like laying flat on his belly, he made that one save. I think it was Taj Thompson in tight, and then the rebound was right to a winger, and it was oh my god, just incredible, incredible, incredible saves last night. Several times on the breakaway, everywhere. Like he was just on point last night. The goal that Dolen tied it on, that was a hell of a passing shot. So it it's yeah, it just it is what it is. You hate to see the home team lose in a game seven, but remember this too. Buffalo lost three out of four guys at home in that series.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, that's crazy. They were they were set to go. I mean, I thought they were gonna win. I think we all did, didn't we?

SPEAKER_00

I lot. I think we did. I mean, that the mood in the arena was we're winning this game.

SPEAKER_03

Now it comes to Carolina and the Canadians. That's gonna be uh I was looking at this. It looks like they've gone game seven, both their first and second round. Yeah, guys. Now they're gonna be going up against the uh Carolina, which is swept their last two.

SPEAKER_00

Both game seven on the road. Both game sevens on the road, both games in overtime. Against one and two. In that division, and two and three, technically, I think, in the league. Brandon, what did you say? Sorry.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, Montreal's played 14 games so far in this playoffs. Carolina's played eight. Yeah. If Carolina sweeps this series, they will still have only played 12.

SPEAKER_00

It uh yeah, it's gonna be dopish that's gonna keep Montreal in games. I I as good as Carolina is defensively, I I don't I didn't see a path for either Montreal or Buffalo.

SPEAKER_03

No, and we've we've talked about this before. I think it's really gonna come down to how to Anderson comes back from this long break on how well he does when he gets back, starts playing again on Thursday.

SPEAKER_00

But remember, they're they're playing, they're playing full-on scrimmages, they're playing game-like situations.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, absolutely, but it's a lot different when you're just sure you know, your own team is throwing the puck at you versus somebody that's actually really wants to get that in the back of the net.

SPEAKER_00

Sure. But at the same time, it's like Montreal's definitely a little beat up right now. You know, there's players that have injuries that aren't being disclosed, and reasonably so. Like guys, guys aren't gonna quit either. I mean, it's so, and I I still, you know what? I take that back. I don't think Montreal is actually dealing with a ton. They look pretty healthy, you know. You can kind of see like I think Taj Thompson is dealing with something right now from Buffalo, just watching him skate last night in the last couple games. Like you can tell, you can tell something was wrong with McDavid. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So that was obvious.

SPEAKER_00

But anyway, I'll just pick it now. I I got Carolina and five. Wow. I I match, I don't see.

SPEAKER_02

Which one do they drop? Are they gonna drop the first game and then win the next four?

SPEAKER_00

Uh Montreal, I think will I think Montreal might take one in uh in Carolina. Okay. I like it. Honestly, it could be game one or two, and then that's it.

SPEAKER_03

So I think that if if if Carolina wins the first game, I think they can sweep the Canadians. If they if they're able to take that first game coming back, I think they're gonna win the next, they're gonna win all four. Yeah. They're gonna sweep them.

SPEAKER_00

And again, it's gonna come down to Dobish. I think a lot of these games, I don't think a single, I don't think a game goes over four goals in this series, potentially. Uh you know, it's oh man, no way. I the both like Dobish is playing well, but Carolina has proved they only need three goals a game. That's it. Yep. Yeah, Brandon.

SPEAKER_05

I got uh Carolina winning it in six, and I'm on the same point. I think all these games are gonna be very low scoring, like one goal to two goals or two goals to three goals at most.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, I agree, Nick. I'm kind of in the same boat, Steve. Is I know that I I know what you say in regards to that they're still on the ice every day and that that's they're not cooling off, but when you're hot and then you have to take a break from being hot to just practice with your friends and your and your teammates. I'm gonna say that if the Carolina Hurricanes can win game one, they sweep. If they lose game one, they will win in five.

SPEAKER_00

Remember, we did have this conversation last round, and Carolina swept. Okay. Yeah. So I know. And then uh okay, next series we've got Colorado and Vegas. Okay, so sorry, Brandon. Colorado lost one in in the last series, right? And then so um, but I I think Vegas is a better team. I think Mitch Marner's playing great hockey. Um, Icel's not playing bad, but I think the real difference here is Carter Hart in net for Las Vegas. The kid is legit, he's always been legit, and I yeah, I think Vegas gets two, and I think got Colorado and six.

SPEAKER_03

Brent, uh Steve at the beginning of the playoffs, I didn't think the Knights were even gonna make it out of the first round. So um, but they're playing really well. Uh I yeah, yeah, I I don't know. I'm I want to say Colorado is only gonna only gonna lose one, and it's probably gonna be one at in Vegas.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm gonna say Colorado and five. All right, Colorado and five, Brandon.

SPEAKER_05

Um taking Colorado and six, and I think it's gonna be different than the other series. I think there's gonna be a lot of goals in this one because I don't think Colorado is quite as good at defense. And I think so. I think Marner then will get quite a few goals in.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I yeah, I like I like six. I really do. Um, Nick.

SPEAKER_02

Uh just to be different, because I don't think this is gonna be a sweep. I think Colorado wins this, but I think they're gonna I think it's I think Vegas is gonna be uh pleasantly surprising and make this go seven. Okay. And then then the Avs will win this back home at the Pepsi Center or whatever it's called now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't know. G Shock Ben Gay dot net on a rapid belt XL arena. I don't know what they say.

SPEAKER_03

On a personal level, I would love to see Colorado lose. Because that means Carolina will get the home field advantage for the home home field ice home field, home field. I love Steve. I threw that in there for you.

SPEAKER_00

Just this just in, folks. Uh this just in now at every ice arena. We are growing Kentucky 5 bluegrass. That's right. This will now be these players will now skate on frozen fields. That'd be well.

SPEAKER_02

We just have to get Steve to start covering field the ladies' field hockey. That's all. There we go.

SPEAKER_00

He is single, ladies.

SPEAKER_05

So we're all predicting and I like being fine.

SPEAKER_00

I saw the eye roll. You bag of shit. Yeah, what do we say? What's that?

SPEAKER_02

Sorry. No, I like how we all picked Colorado to win, but one of us picked four games, five games, six games, and seven games. So one of us will be likely correct.

SPEAKER_05

Unless Vegas wins. Yeah. Then we're all laughing.

SPEAKER_00

Unless Vegas wins the whole thing. So that would just be comical. Okay, so I just wanted to say, let's let's a little something for the ladies. Okay. So we're gonna talk. So we're going hockey this week, okay. So ladies, if you feel if you're sitting there and you don't and you feel like you don't know what your man is talking about, or perhaps you want to join the conversation, there is a way. Learn hockey slang terms, and um, we've we've uh we've got you here. So I think uh a common hockey term, um I don't want to go with like little things here like backhand body check, things like that. Okay. Um lettuce. If your boyfriend or you say or you come out and you're watching the warmups, this is a perfect example. Girls love to watch the warmups, the boys do weird stretches, things like that. If a guy has really, really good hair, it's called his lettuce. Nice lettuce, Steve. You've got nice lettuce. Brandon, Brandon still has a cold-de-sac. Nick, you have nice lettuce. Brandon has good side lettuce, ladies. Side lettuce. So you could tell your boyfriend, man, he's got really nice lettuce. I hope his bucket doesn't ruin it. Look at Steve's face. He's like, What are you talking about? So this is a player.

SPEAKER_02

So we got bucket, which is a helmet, and lettuce.

SPEAKER_00

It's two for one. Two for one. This is the guy's hair. So if you're watching the game or you're watching warmups at the game, you can tell your look over at your boyfriend, and you want to get a fun reaction. I know I would just start laughing. I'd be like, let's go get a beer, let's go get a drink. I gotta buy you something. That was great. At least that's how I am. But yeah, if you look at your boyfriend, husband, whatever, even maybe your son, maybe hockey mom's out there, and just be like, Man, that kid's got really or that guy, it could be a kid, 18, 19 years old, but man, that player's got really great lettuce. His bucket's really gonna mess it up. So go ahead and throw that one at him. It's just a funny one, it's quirky. I don't know, it is different, but um, we can go through some stuff though if you like. Um, one thing I so I got given this one. Um, for check. You'll hear your boyfriend, husband, anybody, player, whatever they are. Um, you'll hear that. Them say for check. Okay. The actual definition. I'm going to give you the actual written definition, then I'm going to tell you what they're talking about and what it is. It's like keeping opponents at their end of the rink while attempting to regain possession of the puck. Okay. When you see the team you're rooting for skate out of the zone, and you still see a player sometimes too staying in the zone, sticking their stick out, trying to disrupt a pass, or they're able to a really good team, a really good forechecker is in the corners and keeps the puck in the offensive zone. That's what they're trying to do. If they have a strong forecheck, that means that a team is really good at either getting the puck back or keeping the puck or taking the puck from the opponent before they had gained possession while in their defensive zone. So that's what that player down there is trying to do. When you see the player, one player, maybe two, while the rest of the team maybe changes or does something else. That's a forecheck. That is a good forecheck. Is maybe a player or two is able to regain possession by putting pressure on the defensive team trying to get the puck up and out of the zone. Okay. So that's a forecheck. That's a good one this week, and we'll do another one next week. We'll talk about some more. But uh, we're gonna help you out here, ladies. And uh go over icing next time.

SPEAKER_03

Help I've had to explain that to my daughters a lot about icing. So, like, how does that icing? Why is that icing? Why isn't and then they're like they always ask, you know, when they're on a power play that it's not icing, and they're like, why is it not icing anymore? And so should talk about icing next time.

SPEAKER_00

I'll tell you what, we will do a whole thing on icing at the end of next episode, okay? I'll happily explain it. I I it's a necessary rule, but it's yeah, it is what it is. So, anyway, with that, we're gonna move into this week's top five and close out this great episode of Full Strength Podcast. Again, we remind you to go like, follow, and subscribe. Um, you can subscribe to our podcast and have fun with us. Like, tell us what we're doing wrong, tell us what we're doing right. We love comments, we're on YouTube and TikTok. Um, go subscribe to our YouTube channel and check out all of our videos. Um, one more thing. Before we get into the top five, we are going to do something that has been talked about on several episodes, and we're gonna go ahead and we have a measurement of oh yes. So, what's better, voice? Nick takes out his thing.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I have offered to make this a little bit more incentivized. Whoever has the largest head wins between the stuff and myself, and the loser has to buy a hat, a fitted hat for the winner. Does it matter what team? It's the loser's discretion, but it should be a hat that the winner would actually wear.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's a the winner's choice, right?

SPEAKER_02

Like, no, no, of course not. No, the loser. I'm gonna get if I lose, I already know which hat I'm gonna get him. It's awesome and it's hilarious.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so the winner actually loses in the long run, as well as something like so. All right, so what we're doing here is we are these two guys, Nick and the stuff, Brandon Trainer. Uh, they have abnormally large heads. I mean, it's like you should see before we start recording an episode. Brandon, every time his camera comes on, he's so close to the camera, his head doesn't look like a head, it looks like a globe.

SPEAKER_05

I'm actually 20 feet away from the camera. That's how big it is.

SPEAKER_00

So without further ado, go ahead, boys. Like, let's they got we should make bubble heads on measuring tape, but you've got Nick going right now. All right, all right, no squeezing, it's gotta be legit.

SPEAKER_05

But yeah, you have uh two finger lengths between your eyebrow and the tape.

SPEAKER_00

Can anybody see what size that is? Hold on, I'm getting there. Move my microphone.

SPEAKER_05

Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

Get a haircut.

SPEAKER_05

It's like just un like 23.

SPEAKER_03

20, yeah. A little bit better than 23 and a quarter?

SPEAKER_02

Like 20 23 and almost three quarters.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. 23 and three quarters. What do you got?

SPEAKER_02

That's a big dome. I'm excited for my new hat.

SPEAKER_03

I was gonna say, I I think Nick's gonna take this.

SPEAKER_00

No, Brandon's head's like 27. What's this? I don't think it's gonna do anything. He can't even get the tape around. I told you.

SPEAKER_02

Now zoom in.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, he's twenty almost twenty-five inches. Shut up.

SPEAKER_03

Whoa, that's twenty-four and a half. What the dude? Nick. That's a small dude.

SPEAKER_01

And Nick, Nick's a size eight-bitted hat. That means Brandon is like an eight and or a nine. I don't even know how to get him a hat. Good luck.

SPEAKER_00

Shit. I'm gonna have to special order you a hat. 24 and a half, Nick. Is what you need to tell them. That's the that's his circumference. What are you, Brandon? Me?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, in a fitted hat. Um seven and a four.

SPEAKER_03

I measured mine yesterday when we were talking about Sunday when we were talking. I'm 22 and a half.

SPEAKER_00

I'm seven and an eighth.

SPEAKER_01

Seven and an eighth? It's so cute.

SPEAKER_00

Isn't that bigger? No, that's not bigger than seven. So I can also wear seven and a quarter.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Yeah. Tinky. Right now. Good stuff. I bow to you as the largest head in this podcast.

SPEAKER_00

That's great.

SPEAKER_02

Damn it. There you go.

SPEAKER_00

I could have told you that was that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I look forward to this hat.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so that'll be fun. We'll see what the hat is and what it says. So I'll wear it on the podcast.

SPEAKER_05

Don't worry.

SPEAKER_00

With that, we're gonna move into this week's top five. We are gonna go with hockey. We haven't uh done a we're gonna do movies, top five best hockey movies, in our opinion, of all time. All right, Steve Wood. Number five.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I put this one in there for Brandon because I grew up on this one, but I put number five as the Mighty Ducks. The Mighty Ducks, original Mighty Ducks. All right, Steve. The original number the first one. I don't really care for any of the other ones, but the first one. Yeah, sure. Got it all started. You got it, buddy.

SPEAKER_00

Number five. You see how quickly he moved along from that? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Going on me already?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Number five for me, the Mystery Alaska.

SPEAKER_00

Mystery Alaska is an absolutely incredible, incredible hockey movie. So Nick Brown.

SPEAKER_02

Coming in with a classic and a must-watch for all hockey fans. Number five, Slapshot.

SPEAKER_00

Nope. Okay. Uh, mine was also Mystery Alaska at number five.

SPEAKER_03

That's my number four.

SPEAKER_00

All right. So Steve is number four, Mystery Alaska. Listen, this is a great movie if you haven't seen it. Uh, about a pond hockey group of guys in a small town called Mystery Alaska. And the whole premise of the movie is a guy that used to live in town now lives in New York and convinces a a publicity stunt and gets the New York Rangers to fly up um and play them in a game of pawn hockey. Very, very fun movie. Go check it out.

SPEAKER_03

Very feel-good movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's a fun, it's a fun movie. So, but yeah, fun movie. Mystery Alaska. If you haven't seen it, go check it out. Uh, Brandon, the stuff. What is your number four?

SPEAKER_05

My number four, this might be only on my list. It's a documentary called Red Army about the US about the um Russia.

SPEAKER_00

The old Soviet team. Yeah. Yep. Right on. That's a good one. Outside the box. I like it. Um, Nick, Nick Brown, number four.

SPEAKER_02

Number four, although not everyone on this panel will agree with me, it is a hockey movie. Uh, number four for me was the cutting edge about a hockey player who has to become a figure skating pairs partner. Great movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes. There is four minutes of hockey in that movie about figure skating. Um, my number four. Um, it it's it's a funny movie, but it's a true story. That's why it's on my list, and that's Goon. Um, Goon is a true story. It's got Sean Williams Scott in it about a player who really picked up hockey later in life but could fight. Um, the movie's great. It's got Sean Scott in it. It's a fun movie, it's a true story. If you haven't seen it, go check it out. Um, this does not include Goon 2. Do not go watch that movie. Once you're done with Goon, that's the end of the series. Steve, number three. Number three was Goon. Number three was Goon. Again, great movie, true story. Um just a good movie.

SPEAKER_03

I mean it's not a fun movie to watch.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, if you haven't, if you like Goon, go check out the documentary Ice Guardians. Brandon, the stuff, number three.

SPEAKER_05

My number three would be Miracle.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. That's yep, that's your movie. Yeah, that's his number three. Nick, number three. Easy, miracle. Okay. Um, again, miracle. Uh number three for me is actually gonna be slapshot. It's a Colt classic. Just yeah. Great, great, great, great, great, great movie.

SPEAKER_02

And again, that movie franchise ends with Slapshot, not Slapshot 2, and definitely not Slapshot 3.

SPEAKER_05

Never heard of those other movies you talked about.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly the right answer.

SPEAKER_00

You know, yeah, it yeah.

unknown

Yeah. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

All right, Steve, number two.

SPEAKER_03

I actually had the Red Army also at number two. That was a really good. I know it's not a movie, but it's a great documentary. And it kind of also rolls into the the 80s where it uh they talk about how they were literally isolated their own little village. And they were taken away from their family and literally brought up from our young age to just to play hockey. If you haven't seen it, it's a good it's a good documentary to watch.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. Brandon, number two.

SPEAKER_05

Number two for me would be Goon. Sean William Scott's one of my favorite actors. I always thought he was underrated, and I just love that movie.

SPEAKER_00

You know. Okay, yeah. I yeah. It what's great about it is the premise of the real guy's life. And it's just yeah, it's just the true story of it and the way he scores the goal off of his face really happens. And so it's to me, it's just one of those things where you're like, my god, like that dude really was a goon. He could be they say he could barely skate, but like the way they made that in the movie is not true. The guy can skate, otherwise, he wouldn't have played, you know, professional, any professional level, I don't know, of hockey, but yeah, great movie. Just just uh it's a good one. If you haven't seen it, folks, go see it.

SPEAKER_02

Nick. My number two is also Goon. So short and sweet. It has one of my favorite movie quotes of all time that I used to use all the time when I worked in an ambulance. About there's two rules don't touch my flipping percocets. And do you have any flipping percocets?

SPEAKER_00

Do you have any percocets? I I I love it. That's that's great. Um, all right, so my number two is I went back and forth. This wasn't even on my like list initially, and then I dove into it, and it was like, it's such a corny movie, but it's it's actually one of the most watched hockey movies of all time. Um, and that's Youngblood. If you haven't seen this movie, it's just a very, very goofy movie. It's got an all-star cast, and that was one of the other reasons I put it on there. It was also because it this launched a lot of guys' careers. Um, I had it originally at six, and then I went to four, and then I was like, you know what? It's got hockey historical, like just everything in it.

SPEAKER_03

So anyway, Stop Low definitely got better at acting after that movie.

SPEAKER_00

I know that's it's so corny. It's like the goon, though. It's like it's just it's yeah, miracle that might be. Okay, number one, Brandon. Number one. Yeah, I we'll talk about it here in a second.

SPEAKER_05

Brandon. No, my number one, uh good old-fashioned old-time hockey. It's always been my number one slapshot. Love it. Yeah, it's Paul Newman, one of my favorite actors of all time. Hanson, yeah. Love the love the atmosphere. I miss, you know, you have the organ playing in the arena, something you don't have anymore.

SPEAKER_00

No, and the lunacy of that movie is just like, yeah, it's gotta be on your list. It's just again, the lunacy of that movie. The three guys, uh, one thing about Slapshot, too, that I didn't bring up, Brandon, was the fact that the Hansen brothers played professional hockey. If you notice when they're on the ice how much bigger they are than the actors, yeah, of course. Absolutely awesome.

SPEAKER_05

My dad watched it all the time.

SPEAKER_00

So that's great. All right, Nick, you're number one, buddy. This was a tough call.

SPEAKER_02

It was between two great hockey movies. Uh I ended up giving me a number six spot went to sudden death, John-Claude Van Dam. And my number one is actually Mystery Alaska, because I love that movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, it's it's a uh it is. It's a classic, it's a great movie. It really is. It's a great story. It's just fun.

SPEAKER_02

When the again when the new when they have the New York Rangers come out onto the pond to play their exhibition game or whatever, and the entire town is sitting there just reading the paper, so you can't like quiet. When they come out for the game, yeah. Yeah, when they come out for the game, and that's like that's the way that they're taunting them, is that everybody just holds the paper up and no one cheers, no one even looks at the Rangers.

SPEAKER_00

They have little Richard, they have little Richard sing like the seven-minute national anthem. No, that was the best. That's hysterical.

SPEAKER_02

Because New York guys were too cold.

SPEAKER_00

Mike, so Mike Myers is also in that movie. That's another one that you know some people might not like. I don't know why, but it's got an all-star cast. When Mike Myers looks over at the guy, he doesn't cuss at all. He's like Donnie Do Wright.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, hey, fella, where can the guy get a rub and a tug?

SPEAKER_00

When they're in a commercial break, and it's just like they're done as dog doo-doo. I'm sorry to say it. And the next period, I want to have them as kids. I want, I'm gonna adopt them all. Yeah, it's it's a great movie. So uh my number one is Miracle. Um, it's just, you know, Team USA, Kurt Russell absolutely nails Herb Brooks. When you hear the other players like that, you know, whether it's uh Mikey Rusioni or Jim Craig, um, any of them, honestly, talk about how how well Kurt Russell did with Herb Brooks, it's really neat. It's just really cool. It's a great movie, it's a great story. It was a big deal. Country was in squalor at the time, and um, yeah, it's just what a great, what a great story. Brought the country together at the time. I think that's a cool thing, I think that's important. So, yeah, that was my number one was Miracle. So all great movies. Um, if you haven't seen any of these, go check them out. Some of them really are corny, and they're fun, funny to watch. So, um, yeah. And you know, to all the figure skaters out there, go check out cutting edge, it's also a great movie. So that might be a trip on the horizon. Some tailgating. They make it to the Stanley Cup final. Uh, Brandon, the stuffed trainer, any last thoughts?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, just you know, like they say in hockey, let's do that hockey.

SPEAKER_00

Nick, any last thoughts?

SPEAKER_02

Um, just real quick, I wanted to touch on uh you brought it up at the beginning, and then I don't think we got to it about the MVP MMA um event. Uh, I just want to give props to Rhonda Rousey who defeated Gina Carano by arm bar in 17 seconds. Yeah, uh no surprise there. Um, you had Mike Perry who got a doctor stoppage TKO uh for bleeding against Nate Diaz at the end of the second round.

SPEAKER_00

Nate Diaz is the one that got medically DQ'd, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Go ahead, yeah. I say that funny. Um, but yeah, so Perry Perry got the win. Um, but if you know Nate Diaz, like he's the toughest MF for around and he bleeds like a stuck pig because he has so much scar tissue on his face.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, yeah. It's like if he got scared by his girl, it looks like he got shot in the face. So yeah, I'm sure it's he's a monster, dude. He's a Hall of Famer. Love, love you, Nate Diaz. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But uh, but it was a great fight. Um, and then the other one that was really good was Francis and Francis Nganu defeated Felipe Linz with a series of body blows. That was like watching a seven-foot-tall UFC fighter beat up on Brandon Michael, like it was not even fair. Probably had it go down. But it was, you know, it was a pretty good uh Netflix event, and I would stick around and watch. I like how they cut they brought back a bunch of some people say past their prime champions, but they brought back a bunch of people that I missed seeing in the UFC. So it was kind of nice. It was cool to see.

SPEAKER_00
