Good evening, everybody. Welcome to Full Strength Podcast. We are back again, episode number 27. It is I, Brandon Michael, here to bring you lots of news, lots of good stuff, along with Steve, Nick, and the stuff. So, with that said, Steve, how was your week, sir?

It was good. It's a busy week. It's just me and my son. Everybody else is on vacation, so in Chicago. Oh, fun. Good city. Yeah, they went to a concert. Cool. What concert? I have no idea. Something Trinity likes.

So Nick, how was your week? Week was good, busy weekend, a lot of a lot of sports. Had some friends over to watch the UFC fight. And that was awesome and sucked all at the same time. We'll talk about that later, I'm sure. Uh, but no, it was a great weekend. Ready to go. Right on. Brandon, how was your week?

A little bit sad. A colleague of mine passed away, so just been dealing with that. It sucks. Otherwise, been normal here.

Good. Right on. Well, with that, we'll dive right into it. Um, let's get into MLB. One of the top stories. We had the all-star, not really weekend, kind of all-star beginning of the week. Um, started off with the home run derby. Um, Barnon, the best home run derby I've ever seen. So um the home run derby, they went away from the clock, right? So they went away from the clock. No time limit. Each in the first round, every player had 20 swings, no matter what. And you can take your time, kind of admire the home run. It also gives the fans a chance to check out that home run where it used to be just these the the your pitcher was just slinging them in at you, and you had to hit as many as you could, and it it's exhausting either way, but now these guys have a chance. Hit the home run, we can watch it go. Some of these were just absolutely majestic shots, and uh, and then you can move on. Then it goes to 15. The top four make it. If there's a tie in the first round, it goes based on distance, and it was just uh it was absolutely incredible. So um what you saw was the first couple of uh I'm trying to get the exact standings here. Here we go. And uh the first round had Contreras Schwarber beat out Bryce Harper. They kind of were like going, they you know, Philly fans were great, they were funny. If a player was playing Schwarber Harbor, they would boo home runs and cheer for outs. It was kind of funny, but uh yeah, Schwarber made it. And then uh I got it's I'm trying to say his name. That's why I'm looking up how to say his name. It's Camonero, I think, from Tampa Bay. This dude was sending nukes, man. So the top five longest home runs after the first round, four of them were this kid's like 497, 495, 493, and 490. I mean, he's just sending absolute bars. All these guys were, but there was also some guys doing some really strong, just making contact.

So um they actually have time to actually set up their stance 100, Steve.

Yeah, they can they can't take there's no timeouts, but because it's slower, you have a chance, you can step out of the box and like fix your bat, put some pine tar on it, some chalk, whatever you need to do. But um it it it was it was absolutely um insane. Jordan Walker. Okay, let me line this up. For those of you that watched it, you know what happened. But for those of you that didn't and follow this podcast for your sports news, which we have a few that do that now. Jordan Walker gets in, and then um he's facing uh, let's see, his longest home run, by the way, was 455 feet. His average home run distance was 429. This guy, just nice smooth swing. He's obviously super talented. Um, but Jordan Walker wasn't like an all-star before. He really worked on his swing, so he really worked on some hard stuff. Anyway, Schwarber gets in. Philadelphia fans are losing their minds because he's a Philadelphia Philly. For those that don't know. Schwarber hits 11 bombs, 15 at bats, right? Now, your last swing cannot end on a home run. So if you hit one out, you get to keep going. Schwarber hits. Kind of like the go ahead.

Oh, I just kind of kind of like that the last round of bowling, like how you get, you know, if you get a strike, you get to keep going. Sure. I like I really like that, yeah.

So anyway, so Schwarber, the last ball was like this magenta ball, so it has a different look to it. When you're used to seeing white and the red stripe, the red laces, it's different, it messes with your mind. So only one home run on the magenta ball going into the final round. Schwarber hits like two or three, ends with 11, okay. Jordan Walker is down to his last two balls, and he has to hit five straight home runs to win it. So Philadelphia fans are losing their mind. What does Jordan Walker do?

Obviously, gets up there and it's five.

Hits one, and then it's down to the magenta ball where he hits four straight bombs, guys, and walks them off. So every single time he's hitting a Philly uh home run, Philly fans are like silent, but there's his mom and dad and grandma losing their minds. It's so great. The video. You can go to Netflix and watch it because that's who did it. Uh, absolutely incredible job on by Netflix. Um, but it it just like I mean, Jordan Walker, you want to talk about clutch? This isn't easy, guys. I mean, I know these guys are pro ball players, but I don't give a shit. This is hard. And it was with that magenta ball. Uh greatest home run derby I've ever seen. Uh, me and my wife, Ashley, we've been to uh we've been to one, and it's it's a great event no matter what, but that was incredible. Jordan Walker, hats off, buddy. Great win. Absolutely incredible. So, what do you guys think?

No, I like the fact that they changed it to where it's not timed anymore. Because like you, like I said, it that was one of the problems is they they hit the ball and then there's they don't even have time. Sometimes they like fall over because they don't have time to pull their swing around.

Absolutely. Is the is the ending on not being able to end on a home run is that new also for this year?

I mean, no, not really. I mean, it's you know, in the old one, even with the clock. I mean, well, you're racing the clock, but yeah, I mean, technically, yeah, because it's a whole new no-clock format.

So yeah, I think it's I would have thought it was a great addition. Really, really, really liked it.

Yeah, it just absolutely incredible. Like I said, I it's and we I've seen some we've seen some great. I remember Josh Hamilton and at Yankee Stadium, that was insane, and um John Carlo Stanton's put on a couple of great shows, and I I mean, just going back, the pregame crew was great. You had Barry Bonds, Albert Pools, and Anthony Rizzo did the whole pre-game show. Those guys were what what great job. I'm bond Barry Bonds. We need to get him on TV. He was amazing. And uh yeah, I it was it was just a great event, a lot of fun to watch. If you haven't seen it, listen, go go go check it out. It's on Netflix. You can re-watch it, watch it from the beginning. It's I know we've given away the ending, but it's it's worth the watch just to see the way Jordan Walker walked that off in Philadelphia, where they were hoping Schwarber to win. And they were celebrating, guys.

Yes, dude. They would like they would pan to the fans, and it was just like, oh, it's great, dude. I was I was loving it. I'm watching. I gotta watch it.

He already hit three of them, and you can see it like he's gonna walk us off. He's gonna walk us off, and even Schwarver's like he was so impressed because these guys are just having fun, and oh, also, it's a million-dollar prize now.

Yeah, and the posting with his grandma and his mom and dad. Um, very you can just tell, very, very intelligent people. They're you know, very well versed, just great, great people. And they were they were joking around. His dad was even they were like, What are you gonna get with the million bucks? Like, yes, you know, it's my son's money. It's like, you know, and his grandma, I think, said something joking around like, I like cars. It was awesome, dude. I it just great, great, couldn't have gone to a better dude with a better family, man. It it was great. So, anyway, yeah, it was it was awesome. And then uh the all-star game had the AL shut out the NL. NL only had three hits, guys, in the all-star game. So um Dylan Cease got the win from uh Toronto, and the loss went to Christopher Sanchez, um, who plays for the Philadelphia Phillies. So, yeah. Um any anyway, any other thoughts? Um with that, it's kind of like let's get into it's time for the dog days of summer, boys. I mean, any uh we did some predictions on baseball, but it's like uh everybody ready for baseball to get going now. It's like what do you guys think?

Sorry, my son's in the background, it's hard for me to hear you at times. Um, no, yeah. I mean, this is the best time of well, not the best time, right a couple weeks before the playoffs is the best time.

But um it's important though.

This is right now, this is where everybody starts kind of uh coming down the end of the lanes and figuring out who's gonna be on top.

And it's the dog days of summer make or break you. They do it to teams every year.

It's yeah, it's a good stretch of five weeks of baseball.

Yeah, well, especially the next five, because that's uh it's more I think it's more like six or seven, but to get to the end of August, I mean, Steve. But yeah, it's it's time to it's time to make or break here. So and we said like Brandon brought up, you know, like the AL, like central, it's tight. It's like there's a couple divisions like that. Like it's it's gonna be fun to watch these watch these teams get into some.

There's not many teams that are out of the running, potentially. Like it's it's who gets hot when, you know, like we talked about with hockey in the playoffs. You if now is the time to get hot.

Well, yeah, but Brandon, like I he said there was two divisions that the last place team is only 10 games out. So, you know, the NL Central and I think the AL West are like that, where it's like, you know, and it's anybody's game still, so we'll see, we'll definitely see what happens. So I'm I'm excited for it, guys.

So I think it's I think I think it'll still be fun, but it'll be interesting to see any types of roster changes that happen in regards to like sending guys down, bringing guys up.

We Brandon, you bring up a good point. We do have the trade deadline end of July. That is coming up. Um I I think it's still a little too early to see maybe and take guesses on who's gonna be moved, but I you know, there's gonna be a couple of teams. There's you know, sometimes like you have you have years with the trade deadline where sometimes it's like, man, I really thought that team was gonna go for it. Like, who's gonna be buyers? Who's gonna be sellers? In fact, you know, Brandon and I are both Giants fans. The are the Giants gonna be sellers? I think no. I think there's a lot more just you know, BS in the media, and a lot of times that's the case, but they need to do something though. But do they this season's done, right? It's not necessarily done done, but it's like, listen, they're rebuilding and they're developing a lot of guys. The MLB draft just happened. The Giants did phenomenal in the draft. But it's, you know, there's just I think it'll be interesting. We'll see in the next couple weeks. If a team gets hot, like Brandon had said in those couple of divisions, maybe one of those teams is like, hey, you know what? We're not out of it.

No, then the the National West is kind of that's a rough go for those last two, the Giants and the Rockies. That's they're almost 20 games out.

You're not gonna I mean that's the whole month worth of wins.

You're not going for the playoffs at this point, but it's like the Giants are yeah, they signed some big name players. Um, Luis Arez says said he wants to stay in San Francisco, which is great. And I think they'll keep him. But the thing is, is it's like they've got so many great players developing. The Giants have one of the best farm clubs um or one of the best farm systems in baseball, and there's other teams that are like that. They're just not in a hurry. So I'm not really worried about that, but it'll be really interesting to see who does make a move, Steve. I mean, they might be looking for somebody, you know, like teams might be looking for guys, somebody maybe is simple. It could be a um an ethics thing, you know what I mean? Like maybe this guy doesn't eat hot dives at baseball games. We don't want to say that could be, you never know. So it's like maybe he thinks Caleb Williams is a top 10 quarterback. I mean, that just shows a lack of intelligence altogether, all around. So um, anyway, so with that said, we will uh let's get into uh the UFC. Um one of the biggest, biggest uh hyped fights in a long time, UFC 329 was this last week. Um, first and foremost, uh Sophie Cunningham. Wow, Sophie Cunningham. She should definitely be a ringside girl full time, but uh anyway, some great fights. Um go away. Yeah, man. We'll just talk about it right off the bat. Uh absolutely just I really felt bad for Connor McDavid. He went with that client kick, the way that he landed was just you saw it too. And then I remember watching it, I'm like, he kept falling down, and then I'm like, man, he's got no traction on that on that leg. Like he kept falling. And then I knew something was wrong when you know his opponent, who is an absolute class, but he also you can just tell he was like, this guy can't fight anymore. No, he knew, but he said that McGregor was like, nah, just go, just go, just keep going. I'm good. And then he he realized that he wasn't, and it was just kind of heartbreaking to see something like that happen.

Oh man, it was before Max won.

I like Max winning, but ugh.

I know. I I like Max Holloway, but it's I mean, a win is a win, but he doesn't want to, he didn't want to because McGregor won the first one, for those of you that don't know. And so it's that was a little bit more than that.

That was before that was before his chest had to. Yeah, yeah, that's that's right. They were both they were both children, but yeah, Connor did win the first one.

And then the uh the one before that was also uh, you know, it's a great thing. He just got overconfident, and Patty the baddie, dude called it. He said he was going to do this and choked him out. So a very, very big mistake for that guy. And uh it was also an absolute monster. I'm sure we'll see a rematch of that fight, but uh anyway, go Steve. What do you got, man? What do you think?

Um, well, you know, I did watch it. Um, well, at least part of it. Uh one I was a very disappointed with the very first one, the featherweight. It was like the the first round. I mean, there was like what five shots on each other. Otherwise, the one guy was just dancing around them. Yeah. And I was getting, it was just like, why are you this isn't boxing?

It's like they're just going for the technical side of it. I a lot of people don't. I know all fight fans, boxing, mixed martial arts, uh, you know, King of the Cage, kickboxing. They don't like the dancing stuff. I get it.

He was dancing back and forth, he would go in with a kick and then dance back and then back in. And it was, I was just like, okay, is there gonna be actually any fighting going on here in this one? It was a bad way to start off the the rounds.

No, I was just um when Patty won against Benoit Saint Denis, it took him 52 seconds. Yep, and it was a it was quick, a hybrid choke between a DARS and a Peruvian necktie, and it has been renamed the pad tie. I love the name.

Instead of necktie, pad tie, like who named it? Well, Patty Pad Thai, P A D pack Patty to Patty. So it's I'm assuming the pad tie is a little nod to the guy who first pulled it off to win a rop to win a match. Yeah, but just a cool name. Um, great move. Like, and he could when you watch the replay, he told I forget who was the ref in the room. He told he's like, he's out, and that's when he picked his arm up and went back down.

He looked, yeah, you could see him look over at him like he's he's out, man. Like, let's let's end this thing. What was impressive to me was this is what happens when a professional athlete runs tape and looks and does their research. Not his team. Patty said that he told his team, like, if he does this move, I'm gonna choke him out. And he did. That to me is more impressive than the quick win.

When you call that and you do enough research and you're well prepared, uh you deserve to I it's well the other thing too is that you have Patty the Batty who took I'm just gonna say zero damage, and you also have uh Max Holliday, who took zero damage. Or Holloway, thank you. Um that you can't compare that one though. That's no no no, I'm not, but I'm saying both of those fighters who are huge fighters in the UFC are going to fight again in like very few, like not very long.

You're saying that because they're not, yeah, neither of them took any damage, neither of them had a very long fight, they're both gonna be back in the ring for another UFC. I I'd love to see them fight each other.

So the the Nevada gaming or not Nevada Gaming Commission, the athl Nevada Athletic, uh, the Athletic Commission, if you take certain amount of damage, yeah, you're not allowed to fight for like six months sometimes. It's like you have to let uh like cuts on your face, especially if you don't allow them to heal in a proper amount of time, it's gonna open right back up. There's you know, not just you can like people see all that cut's healed, it's good, but there's a lot that goes on underneath. Sure. You know, just with your body to heal. So it's like, but that's a good point. Yeah, they're they're they could they're good to go right now. Dude, I'd love to see them fight each other. Give them that'd be a great fight. Yeah, I think Patty's trying to climb that rankings and get a title shot, which I think I think it's I think it's time. So uh Brandon, what do you got, bud? What do you think?

Oh yeah, time to check out the main event. I always think it's foolish just to come running out flying like that, and always leads it can lead to so many bad things. And if your opponent scouts you, it's an easy counterattack.

He's won two fights that way, though, doing those flying elbows and kicks. Like he that's how he beat the uh what's his name? Real popular fighter. Came out with that flying elbow. So it I get why he does it. It's been successful for him, you know.

You know what else is interesting is that Connor still has one more fight on his contract for the UFC. Yeah, I'm sure it would be hard.

Well, you can't you can't predict that your knee's gonna blow out like that. You know what I mean? It's just it just you just saw the way that oh man, man, when it went, you could just see it in the replay. I was like, oh, that's that's an ACL. And the fact that he kept going, guys, uh it's he's probably gonna have some you know severe, probably meniscus damage. You'll always have that bucket horn that gets that gets damaged when the depending on where the uh the tear in the ACL was, but I hope it's not also as PCL or as LCL. Those are tough, those are tough ligaments as well.

Matter of respect for his opponent, because I know a lot of guys would have just jumped all over and sure.

Yeah, maybe not been so as professional as yeah. Max is a he's he's a first ballot hall of famer in the UFC. This is again my opinion, but I I don't I don't know anybody that would disagree with that. You know, um most fighters have a lot of integrity, you know, always those show butter ones that you know like to injure their uh their opponents, but yeah, like on purpose, and it's like, yeah, there's there's fans out there that have said some pretty ignorant stuff, and it's like you know, those people are just worthless human beings to begin with, but it it's his it just uh folk all class with Max Holloway, you know what I mean? And he even said he's like, I know we talk smack, but he's like, that's part of the thing. And that's why Connor does get such a big following, makes money, is because he's he's crazy with the with the promoting and the smack talk. And it's like, you know, that's uh what Floyd Mayweather said. He was like, dude, this guy's a genius.

Did you see the weigh-ins for the goaway? They were great. They were great. I loved it. How McConnor uh McGregor ripped off.

Oh yeah, he's he's amazing. But anyway, any final takes from the UFC, Steve?

From the UFC? No. I mean, uh, I just was reading something here. It looks like he's under gonna go in surgery, and like uh Nick said, he is gonna do one more fight. Now it makes sense since he's under contract for at least one more.

It's but it's gonna be a year. Uh you gotta, it's gonna be a year before that you know is ready to fight. So I I I hope it. I hope he does. Um, you know, and I'm sure they'll treat him right, so yeah. Nick Brandon, anything else on the UFC?

I was just waiting to see who they're going to when after Connor McGregor is healed, and no one likes to see a fighter go out with a non-contact injury in a contact sport. No, of course. But I'm waiting to see how what the UFC will do for him for his last fight before he changes his top or before he changes his job and becomes Jake Paul's sparring partner.

Jake Paul with the with the the video that he posted was I mean it's it's right it's right in Connor McGregor's like angle, but um yeah, it's we'll see. See what happens. Anyway. Brandon, anything else?

From what I read, uh Sophie Cunningham. She was just attending the event and asked to be a ring girl. So that's how that came together. Yeah, I'm glad she did.

She's an absolute smoke show. Yeah, Dana Dana White went to her WNBA game the next night and sat front row. Right on, like splendid seats available.

That's cool. I'm glad. That's awesome. So right on. So, anyway, so with that, we'll move on to uh a little bit of NHL news. So this is here's the so the Carolina Hurricanes obviously won, and it was the whole thing with names going on the Stanley Cup. So here's the thing with this he wanted to put his entire family on it that have absolutely nothing to do with the team except for being the family that you know owns the team. And it's like, yes, absolutely. The principal owner absolutely goes on that cup. But all seven of your family members, uh no. You saw what happened in 84, 85, the Edmonton Oilers owner put his dad on the cup, and it's now X'ed out, literally with like eight X's. So the the whole thing came up with okay, who gets to go on the cup? It's it's always obvious the owner, the GM, and the people that are immediately part of that team. That is the people that are on the bench every night, the people that take care of this team every night, that travel with the team and go with the team and do all of that. Okay, that's who goes on the cup. Even front office people shouldn't be on there. You know what I mean? You're not traveling with the team. You're not like fucking, like you look at like the equipment managers, for instance. They bag up every piece of equipment, they set it up for those guys. Their sticks are set out, they transport everything, they do everything for those guys and their equipment in between periods, drying their gloves, giving their skates a quick sharpen to make sure they have the right edge. Those guys belong on it. Then you have the training staff. These guys are making sure they're healthy every night. Again, they are on the plane with them, they travel with them, they are a massive part of the success of that team. And then, of course, your coaching staff and players. Outside of that, it's like you're not it just no. Otherwise, what are we talking about? I understand again that front office people do a lot. I get that. You get they get a ring, they do get a ring. But on the Stanley Cup, I'm sorry. It's just not no. While you're part of the organization, you're not part of the team.

Uh, did you see some of the names that were left off the cup? No. Well, so the NHL has a rule, right? Like you have to play in 41 regular season games to qualify to be on the winning team to be have your name put on the cup, which makes sense for like you know, trades and everything else. I get it. Yeah. Um, Joel Nystrom, who played 38, was left off the cup. Uh, granted, he was not at the eligibility threshold, but he was close. Um, but uh, and then they talk about his Tom Dun, is it Dundan, the uh the owner? Is that his name? Tom Dundan.

I mean uh yeah, but and then all of his kids, five of them, none of which worked for the team, all got prime placement in the top two lines. That's it. And then, like you said, like you said, um, the other person left off their longtime equipment manager Bobby Gorman, who's been with the franchise, been with Carolina since 1993, and had his name engraved in 06, was excluded. That's well, because you can only have so many names. That's correct.

See, absolutely. I was just reading, you can only have 52 names. Correct, Max. So that means putting his sons on there, he had to knock off five people that were that should have been yeah. Should have been had their name on there.

I know, but what kind of person makes thinks that, oh, let me put my sons on the Stanley Cup? A lot of we have no idea. No association with this.

Yeah, it's been asked in the past, I guess, a lot as well, and then owners were told, no, this though, these are the rules of the cup. So I uh yeah, I don't know. So how'd they get on there?

I'm sorry, but I'm I'm when I mean who in who does the engraving?

I mean Well, you get a list of names and they put them on, you know. It was again a mistake. Again, this has happened in the past with the Oilers, and then I forget there was another team um in the 21st century that did it as well, and they just didn't know.

I think of all of them, I think those two have the best opportunity to be good quarterbacks.

Uh, I'm trying to think of the highway, but anyway, you can get over into the meadowlands. But if you're like in, let's say, like Astoria, it's like, dude, you gotta come across. You can cut all the way around, but it's like you're gonna end up having to go through the Lincoln Tunnel, come into Midtown, and then take that over, and or you have to go through the Lincoln Tunnel to get over there. It just, dude, it sucks. It sucks just getting into that tunnel. It's like you gotta go through any part of Manhattan. It's like that traffic's gonna be insane. If you are there, just figure out public transportation, do it ahead of time and get over there that way because oh yeah.

What is your number five? This one was a little different from last week's with the soccer to the now box. There's a lot of boxing movies. There's so many boxing. I had a hard time trying to fit five into my top five. I mean, there was there's several that are like six, seven, and eight, but um okay. But my number five is Raging Bull with Robert De Niro. I know it's an older one, but I really liked it, I enjoyed that movie.

My number five is the 1985 classic Rocky Four, where Sylvester Stallone ends the Cold War through the power of boxing. Because if I can change, you can change, we can all change.

I think I think I've got I've got the whole Rocky series it you know in in one. So um anyway, uh my number five is uh Cinderella Man 2005, uh Russell Crow, James Braddock, Craig Bierko, and Max Bear. So that is my number five with Cinderella Man. I think it's it's a cool story. So Steve, what's your number four, buddy?

Yep, great movie. Great movie. Um, my number four is Ollie from 2001. Will um Jamie Foxx uh yeah, Will Smith. This plays Ollie, absolutely incredible. So yeah, great movie. Um also love Jamie Foxx in that movie. I it just yeah, good one. So um, Steve, how about your number three?

Right on. Uh, my number three is 2010, Mark Wahlberg's the fighter. Um, again, it is it's a true story, uh, based on a true story, but um, I like the end where they actually talk to the two guys that uh like Christian Bale and and uh and mark walberg um i also um i liked the actress that played charlene in it um i'm not seeing her name anyway yeah great great movie um i like the the the all the sisters mark walbert sisters where they go over to fight and it's like you're one of those oh dear you're one of those mtv girls and like the the you know the long island axe oh dear what do we got here what is he doing he's with one of those mtv girls oh dear she's just not for you honey anyway steve what is your number two uh the hurricane the hurricane okay that's no washington such a good movie right on okay also based on a true story number two yes uh number two um i'm gonna stick with that 2010 classic The Fighter it was so good right on yeah it's again great movie great great movie if you haven't seen it go see it well can't go see it but anyway Brandon number two my number two is Cinderella man you know say about I think people miss when watching it is at the end after the big fight between Braddock and Bear yeah quick little moment where you can see them being pleasant with each other after all the build up and hatred between them all they just shake hands and yeah good fight you know right on it's a nice little moment right on uh my number two is the entire creed franchise it's you know kind of part of the Rocky movies but they go off that it it's so well written and yeah so that's my number two is the Creed franchise uh I actually don't like all the creeds okay I yeah I thought they were all fantastic I mean the first one was was was good but I don't know it just feels like they didn't stick with the the heart of the boxing after the first one yes it was more family oriented and more less boxing okay okay but for my number one it has to be the Rocky just the one that makes boxing movies boxing movies yeah I it's that's also gonna be my number one obviously is the entire Rocky franchise but real quick it there's a movie that is coming out um and it's about Sylvester Stallone and how the very first Rocky came about um I will get into that after we get through all of our number ones. Nick, what is your number one?

Creed okay yep very good Brandon number one my number one is Raging Bulls okay Robert De Niro and it's just also most important movies in the history of filmmaking.

Okay all right um again my number one was the Rocky you know series um the movie that is coming out uh this summer is about Sylvester Stallone's just getting that movie made Sylvester Stallone was broke he was trying to be an actor but people didn't like the way he talked said that he talked like he had rocks in his mouth and so this this the a girl like I forget who it was his girlfriend or somebody at the time that was close to him said write a movie that you can star in and so he did write this movie in three and a half days the first Rocky was written he wrote a screenplay and they loved it they were like oh my gosh we could get like uh you know Clint Eastwood at the time or uh James Brolin at the time we can get these guys to star in this movie and he was like well no I he's like I play Rocky and they were like no so they offered him 25 000 and then they offered him 50 000 and then they offered him a hundred thousand then they offered him two hundred thousand and he stuck so he stuck with it huh he said you can give me a million dollars I'm going to say no and there's nothing that they could do about it they wanted to make this movie right big studios but he was like me no and his agent at the time was like what are you doing you're living in your car you're parking cars and working as a short order cook you're barely surviving he was homeless at one point kept saying no I make and so when they gave him the opportunity they basically said you make one mistake get off schedule anything you're done like he I don't know if you guys know this but he broke his hand remember the scene where he's hitting frozen meat those big slabs he busted his hand during that and so um like he had boxing training and knew how to box and this that and the other and he just he stuck with it and stayed on schedule and the rest is history it's it's it's it's an incredible story how it happened man it's just so I I can't wait for this movie to come out I'm excited the guy that they got to play him is perfect he is going to be he's amazing I've already seen some uh teasers and some and a couple of trailers and it's this is gonna be a great movie and it's a story that everybody needs to know because Hollywood hated him they hated him during this process so but they they knew it was like there was some executives I think that knew it was going to be a big movie. Anyway that's I play Rocky is what it's called yeah there you go I play Rocky so it because yeah he kept telling them I'm I play Rocky that's the whole thing yeah and he fought and he fought and he fought I knew um I knew about the story a long long time ago and but it's like that they're making a movie about it is awesome and I guarantee Sylvester Stallone wrote it and probably directing it.
