🎙️ Episode 19: Living with Vitality, Joy & Masters Energy with Leigh Miller
Welcome to Episode 19 of The Less Stress, More Magic Podcast ✨
I’m your host, Erin Wallen, and I’m so glad you’re here.
This podcast is for capable, caring women who are doing all the “right” things—yet still feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck in stress. If you’ve ever tried to “think more positively” or reframe your mindset and wondered why it didn’t stick, this episode is for you.
In This Episode
This is a special episode because it’s my very first guest interview on the podcast! 🎉
Today I’m joined by my client and friend, Leigh Miller, who is living proof that vitality, joy, and meaningful success don't have to diminish with age—they can actually grow.
Leigh shares her journey from years of operating in hustle and high-achieving "go-go-go" energy to creating a life filled with more presence, ease, connection, and what she calls "Masters Energy."
Together, we explore how nervous system regulation has transformed not only her business, but also her relationships, confidence, health, and overall experience of life.
We'll Talk About:
• Why nervous system regulation became a missing piece in Leigh's wellness journey
• The difference between hustle energy and "Masters Energy"
• How regulation helped her build deeper relationships with her children and granddaughter
• The surprising shift that happened in her business when she stopped forcing outcomes
• Why feeling safe creates natural confidence, abundance, and ease
• Practical ways to begin supporting your nervous system today
Why This Matters
Many of us believe success comes from pushing harder, doing more, and constantly striving for the next thing.
But what if the energy you're bringing into your life and business matters more than the strategy?
Leigh's story beautifully illustrates what becomes possible when we move from pressure into presence, from need into abundance, and from hustle into a nervous system that truly feels safe.
The result isn't less success.
It's often more.
More joy.
More connection.
More opportunities.
More magic.
And perhaps most importantly—more capacity to fully enjoy the life you're creating.

Welcome to the Less Stress, More Magic Podcast. I'm your host, Erin Wallen, stress freedom coach, intuitive strategist, and former clinical pharmacist. This show is for busy, capable women with big goals who are ready to stop living with so much stress and are ready for a more ease-based, effective way of living and working. Here, we explore how stress is a survival response, not a success strategy, and how regulating your nervous system leads to more clarity, better decisions, and everyday magic. I can't wait to share with you. Let's dive in. Welcome back to the Less Stress, More Magic podcast. I am your host, Erin, and today we have a really special episode. We have our first guest episode on the podcast, and I have someone so special to share with you. Her name is Lee Miller. She has been one of my clients for the past few years, and she is just such a shining star. So I can't wait for you to hear about her and her journey and her journey with working with her own nervous system. So welcome, Lee. Thank you for being here. Well, I am so honored that I'm your first.
SPEAKER_01I didn't realize that. I I thank you very much.
SPEAKER_00That I really consider this a great honor. Oh, we are starting strong with an amazing guest, and everyone who's listening is gonna see why. I'm gonna read Lee's bio so you just get a little taste about who she is. Then she's gonna talk a little bit more about that. Um, but Lee began her own health journey, not because it was a super cool space to be in, but because she faced serious challenges with her own health. Now her mission is to share what she has learned over the past 26 years, empowering others to take ownership of their health through simple, sustainable habits that support long-term vitality. She helps individuals cut through the noise of modern wellness and focus on what really works nourishing the body, building resilience, and aligning with intention. Her goal is to make vibrant health feel both achievable and enjoyable. And she lives this. She is just living this incredible life. And it's a strong body project, right? That you have. So yeah, tell everyone a little bit about you and your journey. And yeah, they're gonna be love to hear this.
SPEAKER_01Well, as many of your guests, um, maybe aren't quite as far down the path of life as I am, but it goes really fast, newsflash. And I realized I'm turning 70 next week, and and I'll be in Italy actually, in the Dolomite Mountains hiking. So very excited to spend my birthday there. But I realized that I wanted to make sure that I was aging with vitality and um joy and community and just all the things that that really light me up, and that I really needed to take care of myself if I wanted to do that. And so I have been on a journey where, as you mentioned in my bio, um, I found myself with some really serious um intestinal issues, gut, gut issues, and that was reflected back in the day. We didn't know that it my skin was terrible and I was always sick. And when I got lucky and fixed my gut, not knowing that that's what I was fixing, then everything else um uh improved as well. And it just the light bulb just kept going off about wow, look what's happening when I'm making different um food choices, nutrition choices, and lifestyle choices and how it all works together. And it's oh my gosh, such an exciting area. And then um, so I I think of myself as the the lucky gut lady because I I just kind of fell on this and and didn't you know really know what I was doing. And it it has a big impact. And then, of course, meeting you is my other lucky thing to to really feel like I'm healthy in every regard.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh, that's so amazing. I mean, I've I've known you for about three years, and to me, you've always just been this picture of strong health, strong body. So to really hear where you were to where you come from, I mean, definitely you're my model of how I want to be at 70, traveling the world. I mean, you can share your bringing your 96-year-old dad with you, right? And I'm I I just love the life that you live. And we really need our bodies to be able to support us in our dreams. So you have been such a good example of that. And yeah, you know, the nervous system is definitely a part. So I have loved supporting you in that part while you're doing so many other amazing things to support yourself. So I am curious to ask you, you know, over the past three years, you've really been introduced to nervous system work. And I'm curious why has prioritizing the nervous system become important to you?
SPEAKER_01Well, if I look, reflect back, um, there's a joke in my family that my energy level has always been very high. Um, I was going through a job interview um back in my 20s, and they did a personality test, and the I did not get hired by that company. They said I was like a truck going down a hill without brakes. And I've always been, you know, on the the, I've learned with you, that scale of one to ten and team hyper is my is my home away from home, but that's basically, or that's probably not my home. That's that is my home, or it was no longer. I'm very happy to say. And so um, so looking back, knowing how my natural personality is, this has been a chance to say, oh, it doesn't have to be that way. And how much nicer it is for me and everybody around me to be, you know, more, as I know now, regulated. Um, what an impact it's made on pretty much everything. Um I hired you, I I started working with you to help me with my business, and it has helped me greatly with my business, but also with my personal life. So that's been, I mean, just and the two go hand in hand, but um, and I'm I want my business to grow and thrive, but I want myself to grow and thrive even more. So it's been great.
SPEAKER_00Oh, thank you so much for sharing. And yeah, to our listeners, I've talked a little bit about your nervous system and team hyper, but to give a little more context to what Lee's um explaining, and it's something I go deeper in my program, but we all, our nervous systems are always flexing in and out of different states. And we, in our most regulated state, we feel grounded even amidst high or low energy. So we can be joyful, but we're still grounded when we're regulated, or we can feel sad or angry, but we still are anchored in feeling like we are in control of how we choose to act. But sometimes we get kind of thrown into a place of stress and overwhelm where those emotions take us out of the grounded feeling, or it can go low, like just feeling really depleted, like we don't have enough energy, and we call that team hypo. So we joke in the program about we all have this home away from home. Um, Lee likes to say that she's in team hyper. I am also someone who tends to run a little bit high if I'm not intentional about my grounding. So it's been really fun because she has the best energy, and you're probably already feeling that. I'm sure by the end of the episode, you're gonna feel this from her. And she gets told this in life all the time. And it's so true, but we need that grounded, regulated part of us to match our energy wherever we're at, in order to draw people in. So it's been really fun to watch her. Um, you've talked about this a little bit, but could you give a few examples about like from three years ago to now, maybe what's different in your life or in how you feel in your own body or in your business? Anything that you want to share with our listeners?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'd be happy to. Um, I'm I have a network marketing business, and along with that, I'm in a bunch of different networking groups and that sort of thing. And there can be a little bit of um hustle, if for lack of a better word, but that actually is a very good word. And I've realized that when I'm in that kind of energy or mood, nothing very good comes from it. But when I I flip it and get into a regulated state and a um uh kind of detached energy where I really care. I care greatly and I care deeply, but I'm detached from the outcome, which I've learned from you, then it completely flips my energy. There was one networking group that I was thinking, oh, I'm just gonna drop out of this, nothing good is happening. And then I thought, oh, I'm gonna try it the other way. And and now I just got an award in this, in this networking group and you know, and just you know, the that kind of thing. And it's been incredible for my business when I've just come from a serving and detached kind of thing. I've got, I think, the best product in the world. And if you're interested in it, great. It's a gift I'm giving you. If you choose to open the gift, I'm delighted. If you choose not to, I'll take it back and take it somewhere else. And and when you have that attitude, people are kind of curious, like, what, what's like I like hanging out with her. There's, you know, there's no pressure. It's just gonna be, I know I'm gonna laugh. It's gonna be fun. And it's so that I'm calling it my my zippity-doo-dah kind of, you know, I'm just gonna skip along and and I'm finding that other people are skipping along with me because it's it's just it's fun.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. Oh, and I love that. We have so much fun. Like, and Lee's just saying the zippy zippity-doo-da. It's like life, sometimes we just take it so serious, like and it's so heavy. And when we can have more fun and play with it, life tends to meet us in that energy. And she mentioned this being detached. And I just want to speak a little bit about that because when we are regulated and everyone has moments of being regulated, even if wherever you are in your journey, you're feeling like you're not there as often as you'd like. That doesn't have to always be the case. But when we are regulated, we feel like we have everything that we need. We feel like we are taken care of, we're supported, we're safe, we're okay. So maybe you can just think about a moment that you feel that way. And then when we are dysregulated, we are in, we need something, right? We're in survival mode to some extent. So what happens, because everything is energy, is we are sending that cue out. So if we are running our businesses from stress and dysregulation, we're running it from lack and not having enough. People feel that. People don't like feeling like you need something from them. So once you get regulated, you naturally feel like you have everything you need. And people are drawn to you. Kind of reminds me of that quote about it's kind of related, but like if you love someone, let them go. If they come back, it's yours. Because it is that sense of like, I'm full. Like you're welcome here, but I don't need you. And that's when people are drawn in. So it's been so fun. And it really makes me want to ask you to share about um your master's energy because Lee has been so lucky to attend the masters in Augusta year after year. And just like hearing her talk about it, you're gonna feel the energy. And she really used how she felt so full and so regulated at that experience to take that into a business conference that she had and maybe how things shifted, using that as her anchor point of energy. Do you mind talking about that? No, not at all.
SPEAKER_01And I'm actually in Augusta, Georgia right now. It's a very cool place to have as a hometown. And the Masters is magical. Whether you like golf or not, um, there's just they're really their their little tagline is there's no place like it, and there really isn't. And it's the integrity that this whole tournament is run with, the, the perfection, but in a very elegant, casual way. You don't see all the the hours and hours and hours that go into making the course completely pristine and the training that goes into the even the staff in the restrooms are are pleasant. Like it's just it's just a remarkable thing. And I I had this conference to go to, and I really wasn't very excited about going, honestly. And then we we had had a call, and and Aaron challenged me to think about going to this thing like I go to the master's every year, and just that like my stomach gets all excited, you know, thinking about it right now. Um and so the it this conference ended up being absolutely fabulous. I loved it with it just that little tweak of changing how I was approaching it and um and pivoting my mindset to this is just a great opportunity. And the company that I'm aligned with is sort of the the Augusta National or Masters in this network marketing field. I mean, they did a superb job of this particular conference. And I think um people coming in with that energy, then we reflected back on each other, and it turned out to just be, you know, pretty, pretty magical, actually.
SPEAKER_00I love that. And I know um maybe you can share too, like moments that you've stepped into master's energy or a version of this, how just surprising connections have happened in your life. Like, yeah, maybe you could just talk about a few moments where that has happened.
SPEAKER_01Um well, I use that like I think about it a lot. Um, and it's um I'm single and I I'm so I've started this the whole dating thing. And the difference in how I approach um even someone that I'm meeting is um just this this um joyful excellence, maybe is the way to kind of and to to um not be, oh, I hope he likes me. It's more, oh, I hope I like him because I know I'm I'm the masters here. And it's just uh uh self-confidence and and then it just uh make it just is it's really fun. And so dating wise, that's had a nice impact. But also I'm meeting people now that are just like, oh, I'm interested in joining your business. Um, oh, I'm interested in your product. And just again, by kind of I I'm now almost thinking, well, of course they are. I mean, that's just what happens to me. It's just, you know, every everywhere I go, everyone I meet, it's um, it's people are interested. So it's it's it's just like Christmas Eve for me every night. And I just think, okay, what what surprises are waiting for me the next day? And just it's it's a very, it's just a lovely way to live. And then it's also that calmness. I'm a grandmother for the first time, and how much fun I'm having supporting my kids with what I'm learning. My daughter was married, um, both my kids got married in 2024, and we had a little bit of drama, potentially, over my daughter's wedding dress. And because what I had learned there, I with you, Erin, I was able to calm down and and just put um trust marbles in the jar with my daughter and say, okay, I think you're absolutely out of your mind with what you're thinking right now, but I did not say that. We went through the like, what's bothering you? Well, what's really bothering you? Well, let's let's peel the onion. And then we got to the point, you know, she told me what she didn't like about the dress that I just paid for and picked up. And and thankfully they let me return it. So I said, okay, that you don't like it? That's it. So I took the dress back and I said, I'll take care of it. And she was looking at me like, oh my gosh, I thought this was gonna be, you know, a much different um situation. And uh, and so any rate, it it's it was one of the the most trust building things I have ever done with my daughter because of how calm I was in in that situation. And and it's it really has deepened our relationship. It's it's it's just been a joyful thing. And I noticed, like, oh, she's really feeding off of my energy. So because I'm calm, instead of freaking out over this dress, and the you know, there's a bunch of like it was a it was a little bit stressful, honestly. Um, but I chose to say, we're gonna deal with it. It's gonna be okay. The important thing is she is marrying the man of her dreams, and they're a perfect pair, and we'll get through the dress. And we did, and it it's it's just made my relationship with her even deeper.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. I I have I loved watching you walk through that season of both your kids getting married months apart, right? Yeah. Yeah. Something it's like things that can be really joyful and filling us up can still be stressful, right? And add a lot. And it's like in those moments when we notice these, this little like micro moments that we put into regulate and heal our nervous system, we really get the payoff to say, wow, my capacity shifted. Because can you imagine? I'm curious, like going through that wedding experience with your daughter, if you had not done any nervous system work and your daughter had said she wanted didn't like the dress that you had purchased. What do you think maybe your response would have been without any of the nervous system work?
SPEAKER_01Oh, it just I can't even imagine. Like I would have been, what do you mean you don't like this dress? You we went to every bridal shop in, you know, in Denver, and you know, and it's this dress is beautiful. And, you know, I would have tried to talk her into it. Um, and I would have not asked the the next questions to understand what it was about the dress that, and is it as we like I never in a million years would have dreamed what she didn't like about the dress, is it reminded her of a bridesmaid dress she wore at um her half-sister's wedding that and she so she said, I feel like I'm a 13-year-old girl and a bridesmaid instead of a woman marrying the love of my life. And so we never would have gotten to that. And I don't know that she would have been able to articulate it had, and when we got to that point, it's like, okay, I get it. I let's, we are gonna, if we have to sell this dress on Facebook Marketplace, we are getting you a new dress. And so that it it was just it it just made it so much nicer for both of us. And then I think she knew that I was gonna be there for her through the whole thing. The, you know, the other funny little things that that happened that could have um damp or just um just not enhanced the the whole wedding um weekend. And instead it was just it was just remarkable how calm and happy everybody was, even when it snowed and that we didn't expect snow and you know, the whole thing. So yeah. Yeah, it was great.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I like I said, I I absolutely loved watching you walk through that season with your daughter, and I noticed such increased capacity. And I always say, like, working on our nervous systems is a gift to everyone's life that we touch. Our nervous systems are constantly communicating below the level of conscious awareness. So if I am stressed, other people are picking up those cues. So if I can come in with a regulated nervous system, it also helps people anchor into their regulation. So wherever you are, we all have moments where we react from stress, but working in your nervous system doesn't mean you are never gonna get stressed or never gonna have a reaction, but it increases how much stressors you can take before you tip over. And when you're dysregulated, we are not in connection mode. We naturally go to like, life is dangerous. I need to take care of myself. And again, we're not thinking this logically, but it is it is such a gift to start to do that work so you can support yourself through moments, life moments of stress, even great moments, like your kids getting married, and you know, then you had your first grandbaby. So so many good changes happening and it helps other people going through natural life stressors too. So what an absolute gift. I also wanted to ask you you mentioned how, you know, just things in your business and how kind of like your natural mindset of like, of course they're interested and people like this because it's of course it's the best product. And it's just so natural now. But I'm curious, like three years ago, how did you think about your business and growing your business? What were maybe the default mindset thought patterns at that point, if you remember?
SPEAKER_01Um just the like I that need um someone that I needed, oh, I need uh to close this deal. I need um to make my my you know my goals, and I needed teammates to do the same thing. Um, and so I'm so they could feel that energy of, you know, um just not coming from the servant kind of thing, rather the numbers and building up the numbers, which um I don't rarely do I even I I hate maybe I shouldn't admit this, but I I rarely look at my numbers and every month as my paycheck just keeps on coming and it's all good. So I think it's it's just it's just more fun now. It's more it's more it's just it just flows instead of trying to force it, I guess. As um you know trying to force um my business to to you know have to meet my goal. So and sometimes I make my goal and sometimes I don't but meanwhile I I make every month I'm like, oh look at that I just you know just um whatever the money comes in that I didn't expect all the time. And it's um so I can pay my bills every month. I don't have any debt and I'm traveling to really great places and I buy what I want and life is good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. And I think too like it's just important also to mention, you know, the mindset shifts for you and certainly for me too have not come from intentionally working on my mindset at the at this, you know, the forefront. I totally believe in mindset work. It was where I started but when we work with our nervous systems our mindsets naturally follow. So if we are dysregulated and thinking like I need and then we're trying to shift it into no like I don't need I'm good. It's kind of like a band-aid approach, right? And you might be able to feel this anyone who's listening when we try to shift our mindset when we are dysregulated it's almost like effortful and we have to force it versus when we get regulated, it is just a natural belief. And when we naturally believe something with our whole body it fuels how we feel interaction. So I just want to invite you to get to the deeper root, try some regulation practices, um you know, listen to the podcast I share stuff on Instagram. There's free resources in my programs and you can really do it anywhere. It doesn't have to be through me. I just believe like regulation has been the best gift that I've given myself and I love seeing it ripple out to my clients. I think I just want to kind of wrap up with a couple last few questions but like I think people who are listening to this podcast are people in all different stages of their journey. They might be people who have been prioritizing their nervous system or just getting curious and getting started. And I would love for you to speak to that person, maybe someone who has not started their nervous system journey or just started really slowly and what would you want them to know? Or maybe what would you want yourself to know three years ago before really getting started?
SPEAKER_01Oh gosh yeah to to know what I to know then what I know now like you know but that'll drive you crazy thinking about that. So I'm just grateful that I know it now. And for the rest of you, learn it now. It's it really is um a game changer. I every morning I have my little routine and before I even get out of bed I do a body scan and say, okay, am I safe? And sometimes if I haven't slept well or something's you know rattling around I think and I go through what I've learned about where do I feel stress and am I safe? And then I think okay I tell my yep I'm safe and but if I feel some stress then I I know how this cat cow um you know the cat stretch is one of my very favorite things. And Aaron's always teaching me new things to do and some work better than others but um there was one I learned yesterday that I was thinking oh my gosh if I'm stressed out in the Charles de Gaulle airport this could this could create quite a a scene um doing this particular the bone the bone one. But any rate you'll have to work with Aaron to find out what that is. But it's it's really a whole new frontier of learning how our body works and it it's it makes so much sense but I wouldn't have ever come up with this on my own. So that and it's it's just a whole new frontier that has a real impact on life.
SPEAKER_00So I'm so glad that I've taken this journey well I am glad that you've been on this journey and yeah I do I love that you said you know some of the tools you've learned work better better than others and I think this is such an important point because we have to be careful of just like nervous system hacks and trying things that you know that's almost become a buzzboard like a nervous system hack on social media maybe it's just my algorithm that I see it all the time. But our nervous systems are as unique as a fingerprint. So Lee's nervous system is different than mine is different than every single one of you listening so no tool is going to work universally for every single person. So one of the most important parts of nervous system work is starting to understand your own unique nervous system and starting to like figure out what actually works for you and not just trusting they say this helps my nervous system it must help mine. So I love that you said that because that is such an important part and I, you know it's been interesting running group programs because we get to see that in real time. Some tools work amazing for some people and others work actually poor poorly or more neutral and we can do different modifications, but it's it's just an important reminder that you are unique, you are the authority over your own self and really to tap in and there's ways that you can build up understanding how these tools work for you too. All right well you do an amazing work in the world your energy is fantastic. So I'm gonna put all of your information how people can reach you in the show notes but I would love for you just to tell them how they can reach out to you, what you do and yeah just please share with our listeners.
SPEAKER_01Oh I'd be delighted to Erin thank you um well I was talking about being lucky when when I had my my gut issues 26 years ago a friend of mine suggested this product it's called Juice Plus we're the most um research product of our kind in the world so we're a global leader in functional plant powdered food and which um is super cool. And now there's in the Juice Plus flagship product it's 30 different fruits, vegetables and berries. And that's now 30 years later what scientists have realized 30 is the different plant is the ideal number for a healthy gut microbiome. And so that's why it worked so well for me long ago I just thought it was fruits and vegetables not knowing how important the gut is it's kind of like the um I didn't know how important the nervous system was just like I didn't know how important the gut was and those two things are both really important in our overall health. And so when when our gut is nourished well, when our nervous system is regulated life is just going to be better. And so I help people with um with lifestyle choices, food choices. We have a um my company is very community oriented and that's I think what I love the most that loneliness is an epidemic and so having a community is one of the best things you can do for your health. So no matter that's my public service announcement no matter you know please eat your fruits and vegetables call me if you're not eating 30 different ones you know a week um ideally every day but call me but regardless join a meetup go go do get involved in your community go out in nature like it's that's the best thing that you can do for your health and drink water um and sleep well and there are a few things but those are those are key ones but we have uh my community a reset program every month where we we teach you guidelines that you can embrace but we go into the why why with these guidelines like why is it important to eat before you um go to sleep and the list goes on and on but it's so education is so powerful and that's what I I really value um educating people so they can feel stronger about making good choices that really have an impact that are sustainable and and that it just they have an impact. So that's what I love to do. I have a lot of things that I'm very happy to share with people.
SPEAKER_00Amazing yeah I think I think that's so important. I mean 30 30 fruits and vegetables that's really hard in our nutrition to actually get from it and I have tried the products they are delicious. My son has had them he'll eat them and he's super picky. So if you have kids it could be a good way just to kind of add in some support into their diet um I was thinking too it's like you know not there's never going to be one thing that helps everything right like it life is this beautiful puzzle and mosaic and we try different things as we go. So for me like nutrition the nutrition piece has act absolutely supported my nervous system work right we can't only our nervous systems can only be as regulated as the support we're fueling our body. So making sure we are fueling with good foods, good sources, something as easy as getting a juice plus gummy that are delicious would be a great you know step to help support you in that way too. I have to ask you something I have not gotten yet, but I'm always so fascinated when you share about your it's called the Tower Garden, right? Can you tell listeners about that?
SPEAKER_01Oh I'd love to well and I live in Colorado and we're in a drought and there the city is saying you can only water twice a day and all that and everybody's freaking out about their gardens and so forth. But the tower garden is an aeroponic growing system. So there's a basin that holds there's two different sizes but it holds I don't know 50 gallons of water something like that that's got plant nutrients in it. And then sitting on top of that basin is a tower and the the they're little cubbies that look kind of like a you may have seen those strawberry pots that have little openings where this so it looks kind of like that and you put a plant in the little opening and the roots grow down inside the tower and there's a pump that pumps the water up through the tower and then it kind of sprinkles through the top there's like a little shower cap with little holes in it and it sprinkles down and it it nourishes the roots but they rest in air not water. So it's aeroponic gardening not hydroponic gardening. So it uses 90% less water than traditional gardening. So anybody that's in a a drought situation or cares about conserving this precious resource that we have it's a wonderful thing. It produce grows faster than traditional gardening and people may have heard about there's a a big berry company I won't say the name but you can Google it and they their their product was reasoned they grow strawberries and all the berries and they their product was found to have all sorts of bad stuff on it and we never have to worry about that. I just go and and eat straight from my tower garden. I don't even wash it because it's you know it's and there's not the truck sending the produce and then the the more vine ripened your produce can be like our juice plus product is all vine ripened the same with the tower garden it's it's at its uh densest nutritionally when it's when you pick it when it's ripe. So when I get home from this trip I was thinking oh my refrigerator's absolutely empty right now but my tower garden is going crazy. So I'm gonna have um a great salad when I get home I know with my beautiful lettuces and I'm growing herbs and microgreens and it's it's really you know it's and then you weigh so much less like how often have you bought a thing of basil and then you know three days later it's slimy the same with lettuce like and then you throw it away not to mention the plastic and oh my gosh. So it's a what and then we have found that kids that are growing on the tower garden are way more likely to try different produce um than when they grow it themselves. So it's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_00That is so cool and yeah microgreens are these nutrient dense are so expensive too. So that would be I didn't even realize you could grow microgreens. So I guess I have a few other questions because I'm like this tower garden definitely interests me.
SPEAKER_01How many different uh produce are on there on your one tower garden the one that I have has 36 different um plants growing so I grow on the bottom of it the heavier things are on the bottom and so I'm I'm from the south so I like collard greens and you can't always get collard greens and they're so nutritious. So I grow collard greens on the bottom and then different um oh beautiful lettuces like sometimes I'll pick magenta bib leaf just because it's so pretty. So my tower garden's like it's just absolutely beautiful. And you can get really creative with different designs and you can grow anything that grows above ground. So you can't grow potatoes kind of thing but you could grow a watermelon. You can grow um fabulous strawberries and tomatoes um if you have mine I live in a high rise condo so I grow mine inside um but you can there's a a version that can be outside and inside or it can go back and forth. So um there's one that's a little the towers a so it's between 16 and 32.
SPEAKER_00Wow oh my gosh and I guess the other question will be like how much work is it? Because you're gone over two weeks. I know you're in Augusta now and then you're gonna go to Europe for two weeks. So what is the maintenance? Can you leave it for a few weeks?
SPEAKER_01Oh absolutely so I I just make sure that the basin is completely filled with water and I leave. So my daughter has a key to my place so I said hey if you run out of anything just go help yourself and I have a friend that's gonna come stay there and I told her to help herself so um but uh but I can absolutely leave it for a a month would probably be as long as I would leave it without someone checking the water. But yeah it's it's pretty and you know I look at it to make sure no little bugs find it and that kind of thing but um it's pretty pretty simple.
SPEAKER_00Oh my oh well you are just fun it's such a fun a gift to have you share about your journey and these incredible products and I can't wait for our listeners to hear this episode. So thank you so much, Lee, for being here. Oh I loved it.
SPEAKER_01Can I tell one more little thing please think about this. Well this new grandbaby I have the other grandmother lives in town as well so and there's no competition. The other grandmother is absolutely fabulous. I adore her but I was very touched when my grand my daughter in law said you know she loves her mother but every time her mother comes the baby gets all wound up and doesn't sleep. And when I come she's she they call me the nap whisperer so when I'm holding this baby she just I rock her and she just goes to sleep and she just and so my daughter-in-law said I I like you babysitting her more than I do my own mother because you make her calm my mother makes her crazy so at any rate it's no competition but that was that really touched me that my daughter in law loves me to babysit my granddaughter.
SPEAKER_00Oh I love do you think that's her nervous system at play?
SPEAKER_01Oh there's no question about it. There's no there's no question about it. I really do. It's you know I just breathe deeply when I'm with her and and I'm more present with everybody. That's that's kind of the other thing. It's just this whole work has slowed me down. Um I am no longer a truck going downhill without brakes. I feel like I'm a hot little Porsche going around the curves really well.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, yes. Uh presence is such a gift too because there's so much that we miss when we're not present. And I I only wish I had known this when my son was little he was a terrible sleeper and I'm sure I was sending cues of stress that I didn't know but we can't do better until we know better. So it's definitely a journey that we want to just give ourselves so much compassion. But if you're listening in may this be your signal that maybe it's time to do something. Take a breath check out the products that Lee talked about grab a free resource but yes today can shift your entire life so thank you so much for being here. I know Lee's about to catch a flight to Europe but it has been such a pleasure thank you so much.
