In this episode, Anna is joined by Lindsey Wise for a heart-opening conversation on rest, sound, birth, death, and the sacredness of everyday life. Through Lindsey’s powerful story and wisdom, this episode invites you to reflect on the heart as a bridge between worlds and deepen your relationship with presence, reciprocity, and reverence.

About Lindsey Wise:

Following the birth of her first child, Lindsey bled to death and had a profound near-death experience in which she found herself surrounded by multitudes of light beings. During this experience, she was initiated into the world of subtle energies and healing vibrations. Afterward, she realized that all beings create their own unique vibration, or their soul song that is an inevitable part of the great Choir of Life.

Lindsey’s work is to awaken humanity to the healing power of their unique sound. She has traveled the world and the astral realms, cultivating healing techniques to help people awaken to the power of their own voice and to the healer within. Through this work, she blends ritual, breathwork, guided journeys, sound healing, yoga and community song. She calls this Ceremonial Energy Medicine.

And yet, once we really unify and the masses are doing our work and coming into that type of balance and union within our own being, it ripples out into our children and our families, our loved ones, our communities. When we're healing the wars that we have within ourselves and within others, then it ripples out on the greater scale.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to Weaving Resident, where intuition, energy, and embodiment in real life. I'm again an international intuitive psychic and intuitive development coach. After conducting everyone, intuitive and developing intuition. Let's get started. Okay, hello everyone, and welcome. Um, and a big, big welcome. I am truly honored, excited to be welcoming our guest for today, who I met a few months ago in New Mexico, um, Lindsay Wise. Lindsay, thank you so much for being here. It's truly an honor.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And Lindsay and I got to talk a little bit um before we just hit record, and we're we're both looking forward to connecting and sharing uh Lindsay's story and some definite wisdom that she has to bring here. Uh, I've shared a little bit so far um with who I've recorded in the past that I really want this podcast to be a space where we can open a container together and that all of us can have an experience of what it feels like to open a container from all different people from different lineages from different walks of life, uh, so that this can be a space that's not just kind of passive listening, but what I think of um active witnessing or active experiencing. So Lindsay has so graciously offered to open our container for today. Um, so I would love, Lindsay, however it feels right for you to open this space, we are here and listening.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you so much, Anna. I would love everyone to bring a hand to your heart and a hand to your belly, and just simply roll your shoulders back and anchor yourself into wherever you're sitting, into the here and the now. As you allow your breath to get longer and deeper, wider and stronger, allowing yourself to come back into this moment. You might even feel how when you inhale, you receive, and when you exhale, you simply surrender and let go. Let's take a big deep breath where we inhale and tighten and contract the muscles, and then exhale and sigh and let it all out. Feel your roots grounding into the earth below you. Your muladhara, your root chakra grounds and connects you deep into the earth, so that you may even feel the cord of gravity that connects you into the core of the earth and anchors you. Allow yourself to melt and relax into that sensation of being held no matter what, just as you are. And giving thanks to the earth for all of the medicine of your favorite animals, crystals, plants, nature medicine, your home, the trees, the rocks that share all of the same DNA as you. We give thanks. And allowing that sensation of Mother Earth holding you from below, breathe awareness up into your crown, and perhaps you may also feel a connection up to your north star. In the Taoist wisdom, it's so close you could reach up and touch your north star. And if you've been trying and seeking and praying to know where you're supposed to be and what you're supposed to be doing, this is your invitation to relax because you're being guided no matter what, and you are exactly where you are meant to be. And through this crown connection to your star, feeling into being held by the earth as well as the sky, as you feel into the strength of the sun, the moon, and the stars, and all of the ancestors who have come before you, those who are yet to come, whose medicine is activated in your DNA. And then come into your heart, this precious heart, and feel how your heart is surrounded by support, no matter what, from all of the cells of our ancestors, and also from pillars and protections, guardians from the east, south, north, and west, feeling the protection all around you from the elemental energies of the fire, water, air, earth, and ether, feeling all of these elementals weaving and creating who you are in this moment, offering you love no matter who you've ever been, no matter who you're yet to be, just as you are. And for this coming into our hearts, let's come into our hearts with the moment of gratitude. Allowing gratitude to be a prayer, a meditation, to give thanks for all of the multitudes of blessings, the miracles and the magic that life is bestowing upon all of us in this moment. Breathe it in deep, in through the nose, and out through your mouth, as you hold your heart and you feel that anchor of your heart beat. Feeling into your intention and most importantly, your gratitude in this moment. This is a container for wisdom transmissions and aha moments, remembrances, anything that I'm sharing is already something that is inside of you. Those with ears to hear will hear. Those with eyes to see will see. And so let out a sound or a hum or a breath to give your conscious permission to open up a portal of remembrance, and let's do that together.

SPEAKER_02

Wow. All I can say is that just imagine if every moment was open like that. Like every every moment in our existence was open like that. It would be a very different world, I think. I'm just so grateful. And I I couldn't share with the um share in the making of sound, you know, because of my microphone. But I could feel all my cells making the sound from within. And that was so beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, wow. And I I do just want to share, you know, this is what everyone just experienced with Lindsay and just her profound way of being in communion. Like that's that's the way I feel when I'm around you, is I feel like I'm in communion with not just you, but with everything. And when I met you in New Mexico in November, that was something that really stuck out to me was just the the way that you walked as a full heart. And it's interesting to me because I people always tell me that um, you know, whenever they're around me, they start to cry. And I feel that way about you.

SPEAKER_01

Like when I'm around you, I'm like, oh, I feel like I'm just gonna start crying. And I finally get, you know, that sensation that people have said um to me about me. And I'm like, oh, that's how I feel about Lindsay. I feel like I'm just gonna cry because my heart feels so open, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Um so thank you again. And, you know, just to begin this space, I I'd love if you can take us into, you know, this is the Lindsay that we just got to experience right now. And if you could guide us back through that thread of where you come from, where where you were born, you know, how how this life started out and how it led you to this moment right here.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, thank you so much for this invitation. And that was such a gift to get to meet and connect with you. And I've had a lot of beloveds tell me that it's a superpower, that I'm really good at helping people to cry. And uh I always know that it's in a good way, right? That we do that. And so much of our world needs more water, and I truly believe that uh dear elder spoke that a lot of the water that we need is just inside everyone, and so uh my prayer is that we can all keep on opening up our hearts and letting it flow. I was born in a little town in South Carolina called Traveler's Rest. Oh, actually, I take it back. I was born in Oakmolge, Oklahoma, and when I was two, we moved to Traveler's Rest, but that's where I grew up. And I loved being in Traveler's Rest, and I was under a mountain uh called Paris Mountain, and I didn't have a television, and I would climb the mountain and have bare feet and go swim and be in nature a lot. That was my medicine. And when I was 11, we moved to Utah, and my mom is one of 17 children. I've got 104 first cousins. We have a giant Mormon family, and so it was very different to be in South Carolina and be in a very diverse culture with friends of all colors and natures, and then to move somewhere that was very different, and um also to be told how to pray, how to walk. Um, I was a ballerina, I was even being told how to dance, and when I was 16, I left home. I decided, don't tell me how to dance, don't tell me how to pray. And I started traveling, and it was such a gift to travel the world in my youth because instead of going to university in uh college, um, my parents weren't able to offer me anything. And so I decided that instead of going in debt monetarily, I would just work and travel and find teachers. And uh I got to, you know, learn Reiki and Cranial Sacral and shamanic healing arts. And I began a plant medicine path when I was just a young girl that started when I was about 12 and really into 14, uh, starting to work with more psychedelic plant medicines and holding others in those experiences. So it felt very natural for me. And that was part of why I left home at 16, because that was so taboo. And what was really beautiful was um, I'll dive right into it, something that you said about when you couldn't use your microphone to sing, and yet you could feel all of your cells activated and singing. I will fast forward across many, many magical years of adventuring and traveling all around the world into the most profound adventure, which is coming into motherhood. And when I was giving birth to my daughter, who's now 19, um, we didn't know, but she was meant to be twins. And there was a little village in France where I was living with my beautiful husband, Josh. And uh when we were there, there was this little old uh doctor's office with this like ancient ultrasound machine, and they checked me out and they didn't realize that it was twins. And so it wasn't until uh we were in our little cabin in the woods up above Santa Cruz, California, in a little town, Saratoga, and I'd been in labor for 18 hours, and the midwife wasn't there. She had talked to my husband and she'd have him hold the phone up to me so that she could hear how much I was progressing in my labor. And she was like, Oh, she's fine. Like, she's got a while to go. Well, it turns out I was just breathing very low and deep and putting all the energy down and into the earth and getting this like primordial magic going. And so suddenly I'm like, Oh, I can feel the baby's head. It's time. And so when my husband called the midwife, she said, Tell Lindsay not to push. And Josh was like, You tell Lindsay not to push. And turns out I actually I never pushed any of my three water home birth babies. I allowed nature to do that. I just relaxed the more I would relax. Uh, I could feel after the contraction that there was that release. And our beautiful daughter was born, and the midwife got there like five minutes before. And it was a good thing she got there because I actually started hemorrhaging bowl after bowl of blood. And the midwife was able to um call a paramedic to come, but I'm I'm a little stubborn. And I was like, you know, I'm having a home birth, I'm not going to a hospital, I'm gonna visualize my uterus is contracting, I'm fine. And I signed a consent that if I were to die, my husband couldn't sue the paramedics, and I carried on in my home birth, and lo and behold, not very long later, I had the most profound near-death experience. And I literally bled to death. And I was surrounded by multitudes of light beings that were rainbow luminescents that were all singing me home. And the way that I have come to believe what this was was just like you were talking about all your cells were singing, the multitudes of the light beings are always all around and singing and a part of our communion. And I was so thankful I was able to witness a beloved who had passed on in a car accident in the center, who everyone always said he looked just like Jesus. And uh Seth, he morphed into who I knew to be Jesus. And when we hugged all of those multitudes and I, we all became one. And it was like just bright as the sun. It was so profound. And the midwife, bless you, Yelena. She was an ayahuasca, a beautiful, uh, incredible soul that knew how to command me back in my body. And she did so by slapping me. Apparently, my husband said, harder than he's ever seen anyone slapped before. And she literally commanded me back in my body. And when I came in, I said, Oh, I was dreaming, I'm having the most beautiful dream. And they were like, Don't close your eyes again. There's a second paramedic coming. And when I got back in, actually, I'll never forget seeing my husband and my daughter. And as I waved goodbye, I felt like I'd see them again in just a little moment. And what I really wanted was to go back into that beautiful realm. And instead, I was taken into a space of this deep silence. I was like a crystal, a pearl in the bottom of the ocean, held in the most profound, deep rest. And I felt like I was there for eons until I got pulled back into this body, and they used electric resuscitation to bring me back. When I was receiving the five units of blood that I needed, which is a lot of blood, they brought me back in. And I was really shown that there is no separation of male, female, religion, uh, even our ancestral medicine is all one. And I saw that the blood is just pure love. And I also was getting all the wisdom of all of the people who had donated and given life force for me. And I just got filled up with this essence of love. And a big part of being back in my body is uh, you'd asked where I'm from. And I really got shown um this archetype of my over soul that is uh I usually just share in ceremonial spaces. It's anakosha, and that's anakosha mama. And I got shown this, and I really saw little Lindsay more in this human life and how short this life is, and how grand the universe is. And yet, my real medicine has been to give all of the blessings into this human life, this precious human life that we're asked to be in, to really anchor and celebrate and do human uh healing and being here because it's easier for me to be in the grand scale of the universe. Um, when I'm doing my plant medicine journeys, it's easy to connect with all the everything. And yet I see the medicine of the gift of being human and right here and right now. So that's where I'm coming from, and that's what I feel like I'm always harmonizing with are all of yourselves and my cells. And really uh I'm excited to be here in a time when everyone is. Waking up to the wisdom that they already are. And so I think where I'm coming from is also where I'm going. So thank you for that deep question.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. You know, something that's striking me about your story that I'd love to kind of get your your insight on is I I had listened to a podcast that you shared with me that you were on, and you had said that you and your partner bought a sanctuary called, I believe it was Roots and Wings. Is that correct?

SPEAKER_01

Roots and Wings.

SPEAKER_02

Same as it's Earth and Sky.

SPEAKER_01

But I love Roots and Wings and Sky. I don't know where that came from.

SPEAKER_02

Earth and Sky. And then, you know, you've been um, you've been a birth dula and you've been a death dula. And I'm curious about what do you believe lies between these places, between earth and sky, between birth and death. And because I sense, oh, I just hit my mic. I sense that you're you work between in that middle space, but understand almost the benchmarks or the bookmarks of either one and how to go beyond them. So I'm curious what this middle space means to you, and especially through all the work that you've done, what does it mean to be here in this middle space? And what are you, how are you working through that and helping people work through it as well?

SPEAKER_00

I love that there's this middle space, and it's the bridge between the roots and the wings, the bridge of the earth and sky. And I believe that that is the heart. And also I love uh feeling into breathing into the back of the heart and entering into it as the kingdom of heaven. So it's also this ability to be able to live in the here and the now of heaven on earth, and that's the bridge right there. And when we open up and we put our hand on our heart and we hear the pulsation, the reverberation uh in our souls, and we have our heart beating in this beautiful harmonic frequency. I also love to think of that as our heart and how connected we all are as all of these cells in this beautiful universe that are pulsing, and I really believe that we are one, and that's where this heart is. So we have our unique soul essence, and yet when we tap in together into the heart realm, into this frequency, that's where I really believe so much of our true essence and magic lives in the here and the now and in the heart.

SPEAKER_01

I love that, and I I totally agree, I totally agree that the heart is the space between.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, you know, as someone who is very uh, as you shared, it's very easy for you to kind of travel in between realms, right? To kind of go into these different spaces and to travel other people through them as well. And I'm curious when the word integration, right, gets kind of thrown out there, what does it mean to you? Like how do you personally integrate everything that you see, sense, feel, know in terms of our cosmic interconnectionness, right? And how we move through our day-to-day life here on earth. And one of the things that I heard you say in the podcast that I actually written down was that you treat every day like a ceremony. And I was like, oh, that's interesting. So I don't know if this is kind of wrapped into that of how we integrate, but I'd love to hear, you know, as a mother, as a partner, as you know, someone here, a human being on planet Earth right now, how are you integrating these higher frequencies? I guess we could use as a word, right? These different plants and beings into right now.

SPEAKER_00

Hmm, that's the depth, that's the roots, and it's such beautiful work because I love that one of my teachers speaks that you know, the the ceremony, the medicine, the magic, the big um, the big hurrah that everybody is often chasing is 1%, and that 99% of the work is the integration. And it's so true, like how to be in the here and the now. Um, I love the aspect of integration that is being witnessed and being real, being, I think you called it like, you know, a walking heart, and being like really present and authentic is a big part of the integration process. Also, uh, something that's really important to me is like you said, living each day as a ceremony and not chasing the highs, but being okay with what might be seen as the mundane and as the day-to-day, and finding the medicine in that. I believe uh for integration. For me personally, I love practicing yoga and energy medicine and being in nature and sunshine, and oh, I'm definitely a tropical mermaid. I love being in the water, I love getting to hear the sounds of the river and the sea and to be with those elemental frequencies. So I feel like these are all part of the integration process. And I will admit that it wasn't easy for me coming back into my body because as soon as I'd been exposed to that near-death experience, as I said, I wanted to go right back to that space. And I was taken into such a deep space of rest and recuperation that literally felt like eons. And when I'm in my meditation practice, um, yes, I'm a 44-year-old woman coming into perimenopause who's not had ever any hormones or anything. And so I do wake up sometimes in the wee hours, and I love that that could be my meditation and my practice where I'm listening deeply and where I'm integrating, where I'm writing in my journal, where I'm being witnessed by all of creation that is inside of me, and allowing myself to land and have just as much of a connection with the roots as I do with my wings, and to really come in between and to be okay with that. So that's a big part of integration for me. And I absolutely love that uh in any of my ceremonial work and offerings, we always offer spaciousness of integration for everyone that's there and in the circle. And I can literally feel everyone's nervous systems uh just unwinding and relaxing in the space where they get to just be and not having to try and prove who they are or go somewhere or do something, but just to be, I think is a huge part of integration that our world is finally beginning to accept because we all have such a unique paradigm, a whole universe within us, and it's easy to have someone else tell us how it is from their perspective. And so I think another part of integration is learning to love and accept exactly where you're at without always needing to strive or make yourself better. You know, obviously there's there's room for that, that's what life is, if we're still here, and yet there's so much medicine in allowing yourself to just be as you are, and I think that that's a big key that everybody's already holding for integration.

SPEAKER_02

Well, you know, I I'm seeing like this common thread, and I don't know if it's my intuition, um, but it probably is because so for me, I tend to link a lot of intuition with pattern recognition. I feel they're they're very closely tied. And I keep seeing this pattern with you with this word rest, because you said that, you know, you were in South Carolina, travelers rest, right? And then when you were giving birth, you didn't push, you the contractions and expansions happened, but you were in a deep state of rest. And then you went into a near life-death experience, and where you landed in is to this deep rest. And when you were talking about integration, you said, you know, people's nervous systems, you could feel them rest. I'm like, wow, there's so much here. And what I what I keep hearing too is this idea of like active rest, because you're not necessarily saying passive rest, you're saying being intentional with kind of being in a restful state while also sensing and feeling what is moving through, but not pushing against it. And it's making me feel uh and sense into this um concept that I was sharing with you before we hit record that I really wanted to, I felt drawn to talk to you about the mother, about what it means to be kind of like a matriarch and what's the difference between what we see as patriarchy and matriarchy. And you had a beautiful thing about kind of finding the union between those two. And for some reason, that feels linked to me with this rest idea of like how to rest when there's contraction and expansion. So I'd love for you to touch on, you know, what you're seeing, especially right now with everyone, at least it seems to me, talking about the patriarchy and also what you found, you know, personally, and with your connection to the medicine, because I sense that, you know, grandma Aya might have a lot to teach all of us about what it means to be a matriarch, right? And and why that also matters, why that thread matters too. So anything that's coming up for you, I'd love to hear your insight on that.

SPEAKER_00

Sure. Well, because you spoke of grandmother Aya, I think it's so important to acknowledge that actually the divine union of the medicine of ayahuasca is getting to work with the vine, which is known as the more so feminine component of the medicine. And if you have just the divine, you're not activating the DMT molecule that is present in birth and death and dream time until you actually combine it with the chakruna, which is known as the more masculine component, the leaf. You have to combine the vine, the aya, and the chakruna to activate the DMT. That's where the magic is, is in the divine union. One of my dear teachers actually very strongly acknowledges that there are many cultures that don't see it as grandmother. They might see that medicine is more masculine, and many believe that these master plant teachers are androgynous and that they are a balanced union. And so as you're speaking about how patriarchy is a hot topic right now, I see water bottles that say smash patriarchy, and there are a lot of people that are really ready for a movement, and yet oftentimes, if it's that full matriarchy, there's also some out-of-alignment components. And so I see that just like with these uh plant medicines and uh these master plant teachers and the guidance of the universe is that the real medicine is alchemy. You know, what would it be like if we only had nighttime and only the moon? What would it be like if we only had daytime and only the sun? How beautiful that we have the sun and the moon. What would it be like if we only had the earth and not the sky? If we only had roots and not wings. For me, that is the medicine of the balance that our world is really waking up to is the masculine and the feminine and coming into also the inner union, which is also known as Hirosgamos. It's that inner divine union, and so above, so below, so within is without. So a big part of our work is coming inside and balancing our masculine and feminine frequencies. Obviously, it's going to be amazing if the world leaders and the powers that be could get on board that train. And yet, once we really unify and the masses are doing our work and coming into that type of balance and union within our own being, it ripples out into our children and our families, our loved ones, our communities. Um, when we're healing the wars that we have within ourselves and within others, then it ripples out on the greater scale. So that is, you know, something really big right now. And um, I've been married now, I just had my 20th anniversary with my beloved Joshua West. And he really has spoken about you know how important it is for men to come home and to feel safe to come home. We have this epidemic of you know, fathers that aren't staying with the with the mother, they're not staying with their children, they're going on and having multiple partners, many babies. And so um, we've got a bit of this imbalance as well in the home concept that I feel like there's a need for the maternal to really come into union so that we can both help each other to feel safe in our own home, and that's the home of the world that we're living in. So uh there's a lot of healing that's happening, and um when we want to smash and break down you know the other half, the other aspect, this component that would bring this union, I feel like that's a part of the imbalance. And so a real healing of our world is coming together and hearing and allowing the integration for both sides, for all parties to communicate, to be witnessed, to express, and to grow in love back to the heart.

SPEAKER_02

And what do you have an example of what that looks like in your personal life, like with your partner or with your partner and your kids? Is there an example that you would say like a something that you intentionally do to support that unity and like seeing having awareness around it? Story or example.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, it sounds very simple, but every night before we go to bed, we do a ritual called roses and thorns. We've added in buds and petals, and so we share like what our roses are, our highlights, we share the thorns, challenges, we share the buds, what we're looking forward to, and we share petals of recognition and gratitude, and we just come together and share that as a family. And I love to travel, and I'm not always at home. Um, my husband happens to be traveling right now, and so we have the gift of technology that even if we're gone, you know, our daughter's now in university. Um, thank heavens for technology, she can call in, or we do um, we pretend to be the family member that's gone if they're not there. Uh we even have a voice for our little dog, Willow, and everybody gets to share. And so I think that that's even a part of the integration medicine that you were speaking to is letting everybody be witnessed and that it's not just roses. We have thorns, we have challenges, and we can speak about some of those things with our children and help them to integrate what's going on in the inner and outer planes in the world. And that's been a ritual that we've done for many years, and I really love it.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you for sharing that. Uh another thing that's that's kind of coming to my memory is you know, when I when I met you in November, you were with your husband and you were with your son, who I believe is eight or ten. What how old is your earliest?

SPEAKER_01

Not right in between. Look at that.

SPEAKER_02

And it was so incredible to watch you, all three of you, coming together to sing and ceremony. Not just you, not just you and your husband, but you and your son as well. And I'm curious how you know, sound, how singing is or why it is such an important piece of what you do. Like even when you open the ceremony, right? The sounds that were coming in were such an important aspect of creating the experience. So, how and why is that a big experience in in even your family unit?

SPEAKER_00

Hmm. I love the wisdom. Um, there's been different people that have tried to claim this quote, but we don't know exactly where it comes from. But it's deep wisdom that if someone was unwell and they went uh for a medicine man or woman to support with healing, they would ask them, when did you stop singing? When did you stop dancing? And so I also believe a lot of people feel more comfortable with dance medicine. A lot of people they love to sing. Um, a part of my life's mission has actually been after my near-death experience, this modality that's come through that is called soul song revival. And I love helping people to sing and express themselves and move freely because most people that I've encountered have a story that happened before they were seven that has suppressed their ability to freely sing and dance, and yet I think that another part of the medicine is um how healthy activism is and making big transformation in the world, and also there's certain times where we need to allow higher powers and everyone to really like know their role and to do their job, like uh as a community and a hive of bees, everybody's doing what we're supposed to be doing, and if we all lose it and freak out about what's not happening or what is happening, we get this big burnout, and there's not the honey, you know. Like in the bees, everybody has their job, everybody's um humming, harmonizing, singing, creating that frequency that creates that beautifully sweet nectar. And so my medicine is definitely singing and song. I love to dance and weave those together, and when we're singing, there's actually not so much space to be like worried. It allows us to be in this space of flow and in trusting this higher power that is helping the sun to rise, the moon to rise, it's helping all of the waves in the ocean to flow, this higher power and frequency that I really love to surrender to. And so, in a way, that's what I think that singing can be is harmonizing with the most high, with this frequency and. And allowing the other people that we live with to be able to share their songs, their wisdom. And you mentioned that I got to sing there at the event. It was called Guardians of the Sacred. And I loved getting to sing with my husband and my son. And I was just in Hawaii at the Mana Fest, and it was so beautiful because my elder son came and he joined as well. And that son, Jasper, has had a big healing journey. When he was 10, he was diagnosed with leukemia. And we were living in Bali for eight years. And I had three days to give away everything and move back to California and be at Stanford. And uh he's thriving now. He's he cleared it in one month to the millionth of a cell. He cleared out, and we worked with the power of um the Western medicine and augmenting with all of the alternative practices and prayer and music, and we were singing and dancing and bringing all of this medicine in. And so that's another part of the medicine, and the singing that has cracked my heart open is um getting to be with my family and sharing that medicine because we know the power in song. And for me, singing is a way to pray, it's a way to cry, it's a way to release, and it's a way to connect with everyone else's frequency. And so um, what I love most about singing is harmonizing and getting others to sing and to share that harmonic field, like the bees that buzz, and that's what I reckon is creating all this honey that our world is longing for, and it's here.

SPEAKER_02

It's it's making me, I'm definitely one of those people that has a story before seven that made me stop singing.

SPEAKER_01

Like when you said that, I was like, uh-huh, raising my hand.

SPEAKER_02

Um, and it hasn't been until this last year, last two years. I feel like two years ago, maybe I started to kind of get the inkling, like the intuitive hit that I need to start singing and using sound, which is something that I've very much been just it's been over there, you know. And I didn't even dance until I was 30. It took me to 30. Yeah, I remember on my 30th birthday, I was like, wait, I don't want to spend another moment not just be feeling like I can dance. I I always was so scared of what I looked like, so I'm not, you know, considered any kind of good dancer or whatever, but I'm a free dancer, you know. I I just dance now because it feels good and I can connect with that. But singing has only been this past year. I've been singing, and my daughter, who's 10, um, she has the most beautiful voice. Like she came out of the womb just knowing how to sing, like how to hit certain things. And it's been so beautiful because as her mother, it something awoke in me that I was like, oh no, I need to sing, I need to show her that even though I feel very vulnerable in that space, that that everyone's voice matters, that every sound matters, you know, kind of like you were saying with the bee in the in the hive and the honey that comes. And it's a piece of what I see even with this podcast of weaving resonance, right? Like you were saying it through sound, through our voice, through the singing. I see it as we are constantly weaving energies within us and then together, you know. Um, so I have two more things that I that I'd like to touch on before we wrap up. And one of them is when I met you in November, you had shared a story with everyone about your husband's mother and how you had taken her in when she was passing to, you know, be a death doula for her, to kind of care for her. And since then, uh I was reading a book, and the the title of the book is falling out of my head right now as happens, but it was about um kind of the the history of Native Americans, and one of the kind of nuggets that came through that book is that one of the Native Americans that was speaking in the book was saying that in their culture their the elders are so important, and they were speaking to that in our current society right now, that's a huge piece that is missing of like taking care of the elders and having the elders as a real fabric in this because they've kind of been pushed out of the fabric. So I love to hear the story, how that occurred, the conversation between you and your husband to kind of decide and and what happened during that whole experience. Because I believe you said it was over a year, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, and actually it was even more depth in the sense that it was not my husband's mother, it was my husband's grandmother. She was nine.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_00

So I brought in my children's great-grandmother into our home, and I mentioned we'd lived in Bali for eight years, and they don't have nursing homes in Bali. The elders are revered, they're part of the life. You know, wherever I went, I would see elders, and it was so beautiful. Um, very much so in Hawaiian culture as well, you know, and in these different cultures that I've traveled to around the world, um, also in India and different parts of the world, they don't just stick elders into a nursing home, they revere them. Elder wisdom is a part of the family, and I feel like the elders are not forgotten in a sense. And when we came back from Bali, we needed to be near Stanford Hospital because of my son's often treatments, and after a year, oh, I was so thankful we got to leave the Bay Area. I'm not one for Silicon Valley, I actually needed spaciousness, and we came out to a place in Grass Valley, it's next to Nevada City, it's still in California. There's a beautiful river, lots of nature. And my husband's grandmother had lived up on the ridge here. And when we would visit, I I love visiting um my with my family. I bring them to cemeteries, and you know, we celebrate those who have passed. I bring them to elderly homes. I love to bring them and you know, really celebrate and honor those who've come before and those who, you know, might be passing soon, especially. And so we would come and visit my husband's grandma in her elderly home. And it was the time of COVID, and we saw her go from her own home to getting to be in this nursing home when we came to visit. And it was such an interesting transition to witness her and her, you know, her more her joy and her spunk of life to being in a nursing home. And I'll never forget once when we visited her, and she said, you know, she was having her food brought in, paper bags, morning, noon, and night, no companionship. They'd put her on antidepressants with all of the other elders at the beginning of COVID as like a precaution. They're just like, oh, there you go. You know, let's just numb you all out. And when she was telling me all of this, it almost felt, well, it didn't almost feel, it totally felt like she was being imprisoned. And I said, Would you like to come and live with us? Do you want to come and be in our home? And she looked me right in the eye. She held my hands and she said, I want to come home. And so we brought her in and I asked her if she wanted to live in my healing room because I wasn't doing as much in-person work. I was doing a lot of my healing arts online. And I asked her if she was open to weaning off all of the medicine that she was on. And mind you, when she was in the nursing home, she was going to the emergency room every week for insane pain in her knees and her body. And she loved when my husband, Josh, would be able to come and be with her in the ER. And this was going on for quite some time. And she was willing to wean off all of her meds, and I was augmenting with some microdosing with plant medicine. I'm just going to come out and say it. She was open to it. Um, we're in Grass Valley, California. I was making her chocolates with cannabis butter for the pain and with peanut butter and honey, and they were very yummy. And I got her off of the uh pain medication. She was on really strong pain meds, and I weaned her off everything and was just using all natural medicines and medicines from the earth. And most importantly, we were doing uh massage and helping her to feel witnessed in her experience, listening, asking how she was doing, and spending time doing visualization. And uh, she went from you know being in a wheelchair to, you know, she could get up and go to the restroom, but she started to just keep a walker in her room so that she could like get up and walk over to the restroom, and um, we would bring her outside and get her bare feet and put them on the earth, and just really treated her, I think maybe for the first time in forever, like a queen. And she was with her great-grandchildren and her grandson, and she really thrived so much. It was beautiful to get to witness my mother and father-in-law say that she was, you know, more spiritual and you know, feeling much more loving and enlightened than she had in 50 years. And that was such a gift to also be with her as she passed and transitioned. She was with us for a year. Mind you, a lot of people complain about how hard COVID was. And I had a son, you know, healing from leukemia. I had a two-year-old, and then great-grandma loved dogs, and my daughter was begging for a puppy, so we got a little puppy. I had the whole spectrum, the full enchilada going on, and we made the most of it. And when Gigi passed on, she was in our home, she was covered in rose petals. My family got to tell her all the things they love about her. We did a rose blessing and anointed her and massaged her feet and really just supported her as she transitioned and she breathed a lot. And they say that we work coming into this life and we work going out of this life. And I really saw that with her. And I'd asked if she wanted any morphine, you know, or any, did she want to go to the hospital? And she said, I want to be home. I said, Do you want to go to the hospital or do you want to be home? She's like, I want to be home. So, you know, I said, We, you know, we we're not a hospice, but we're a home. We can take care of you. And she was adamant that she wanted to just be with us. And I actually made some video footage from that precious time uh the day before she was passing when she was breathing and really cultivating all of that chi and life force that some people actually saw the video and said, Oh, she should have been on morphine, she needed a breathing machine, you know, what they would have done in a more medicalized space, but she didn't want that. And actually, she had said that if I felt like it would help others, you know, I'd asked her permission if I could share some of the kind of like the videos and the writing and about the experience with others, because I've had this concept of creating a center called Passing in Peace and supporting elders with natural healing as they transition and you know, not having that separation of birth and death, just coming into that love space. And Gigi said, yes, if there's anything that you feel like could help others, you're welcome to share. So I've actually put on my social media some of those precious moments, and a lot of people said they've never gotten to really witness that before, you know, they saw us offering sound healing and love as she was in that transitioning space, and she was just uh, although breathing and working really hard, so at peace and exactly where she wanted to be. I let her wear her favorite comfy um shirt and pants, you know. I it what it was just like very beautiful and comfortable and authentic. Um, also, I have put uh my third birth on YouTube. It's a 45-second clip of uh a bona fide, an actual orgasmic birth. And it's because I want the world to get to see something that's so taboo, which is, you know, I feel like it's this kind of ecstatic death and going out of the world and also orgasmic birth. And I feel like the world is missing that. Usually when we see birth, it's coming from a more Hollywood perspective or death, and so getting into the roots and that more organic nature of birth and death feels like really good medicine for our time.

SPEAKER_02

Would you be okay if I linked those to this episode? Because I think that that would be really great for people to be able to experience.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yeah, you're welcome to, and that's a part of why they are there. So I enjoy those. And another piece uh that was really beautiful is we have this giant tree on our land here at Earth and Sky. Her name is Okana, and uh we've done some really beautiful offerings where people have brought um some ash from loved ones. One woman had a frozen placenta and she was feeling really stuck in her life. And I said, I feel like we need to do this bone closing ritual and really help you to move on. I helped to do um rituals post-birth, and you know, this was 18 years after her birth, and she said, Oh my gosh, I still have the placenta frozen in my freezer. And I'm like, Well, you've said you feel frozen. So she came and we buried that under Okana, and she's had such a beautiful transition in her life, and so um I'm really utilizing the elemental frequencies and nature in our home to support with both birth and death, and so I'm so thankful for uh GG, Jean Marie, for being a teacher for me. Um, my aunt also invited me into her hospice in Tennessee just before she passed, and I was able to offer ceremony and blessings for her there as well, and I supported others in this process, and I think it's a little bit, maybe not a little bit, it's a lot of the missing link of really supporting people with a healthy death because I feel like it gives them the strength and the courage to move through the birth portal, and I'm really thankful for Western medicine. I wouldn't be here without it. My my son wouldn't be here, uh, even my youngest also had um a bit of a near-death experience when we were living in Bali and needed a blood transfusion, and so I'm so thankful for um the gifts that we have, and also I believe that women have so much more power than the world wants us to realize. I believe men have even more power than they can remember, and so I think in our ability to be able to uh not only honor the physical death of our elders, but also to see so much of our life as being rites of passages, of shedding our skins and of having these deaths, these births and these initiations and not shying away from them is what prepares us to be able to have the greatest death and rebirth of all time. And so I think that there's also something there in the middle to of not just the birth and the death that I've been shown is really important and honoring all of these initiations that everyone's having. And everybody needs to fall down and get taken care of and you know supported when they're down so that they can rise and take care of others when you're up and when you're down, be able to receive the support that we need. Because I feel like just as much as we need that balance of the masculine and the feminine, the key component of that is of the giving and the receiving as well, is being able to give and receive and to do both. And I think that we know a lot of people who are givers and a lot of people who are takers, and we see that the givers have a really hard time receiving. And so it's been my life practice of being able to receive as much as I give. And so I'm also hoping that the people who are really good at taking and asking for what they need can also be just as good at giving and supporting others who might not have the superpower of asking for what they need. And so I was so glad that great grandma asked for what she needed as soon as I said, Do you want to come? And we made that happen. And I hope also that more elders can ask for what they need and more women who are pregnant and birthing and bringing through the next generation can come into the space of being able to receive as much as they need to, and for the mamas to not have to be too overloaded in the masculine that they can relax and feel held and provided for in profound ways.

SPEAKER_01

It's time. It's time, exactly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and thank you so much for sharing that story. I mean, I don't know if you could tell, I was trying to kind of keep it hidden, but um when you were sharing about, you know, asking your husband's grandmother if she wanted to come, and she, you know, just so eagerly said yes, it totally brought me to tears. It was so because I truly my my mom has Parkinson's and she lives um alone right now and and has caregivers that come and help out. And I go every Thursday. Today's Thursday when we're recording this, so like right after this, I'm you know, gonna bring her food and tuck her into bed, and um, that's like my my Thursday night ritual with her, which I'm so grateful to have. And I've when you were just sharing about that giving and receiving, I've absolutely seen that with my mom, like asking her questions, and I can sense the answer. But because I'm the youngest of seven, you know, she's had seven kids, and she's very much been a giver her whole life, and that's that's been a kind of a dance, and and I really could hear your words in my body when you said that it's this thing of being able to also be courageous enough to say what you need or say yes to the thing, right? That feels really strong strong for me, especially with um the elderly and what I see with my mom of like having that strength, it's okay to just say what you need. You don't have to be strong in that moment, or you know, that that just felt so strong. So thank you. Um, you know, I could I could literally keep talking to you forever, so I am gonna stop myself. Um I wanted to see, you know, where where could cause I know people are gonna wanna learn more about you and hear more about your stories. So is there anywhere that people can go um to to learn more?

SPEAKER_00

Sure. Well, I'll also ask y'all to help hold the vision of the book that I've been creating um to finish. So you'll be able to stay in tune with that. And Anna can provide the links that she'd mentioned, and you can find me on all music platforms. My newest album is Earth and Sky, and the one before is Walk in Beauty. And um yeah, Anna's gonna link you up. You can find me on Instaland as Shamama Wise, and I love getting to stay connected with community and share, and it's an intention to do a bit more of that I find in this day and age. Uh, in order to keep my peace, I do take these long sabbaticals and I love to go on pilgrimages and be in sacred sites and places deep within that heart. So I love to be in that deep space, but when I come out, I love to connect with you in those spaces, and I'm also offering immersions here at Earth and Sky. And I do session work with people all around the world. So if that resonates for you, I'd love to support you and get to harmonize with you. So thank you. I want to also give thanks because I know that Anna, you said that this is kind of a new uh intention to have this podcast, and I could feel uh that we could be like a catalyst to get this going. So I really want to celebrate many more of these and just your presence and the wisdom that you share. I'm so thankful, and it's such an honor to have these conversations and also to get to be in your field of wisdom and deep love. And I've had some tears in this by being with you as well. So thank you for the depth and lots lots of truths. Yeah. So thank you so much.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you got me crying again. Thank you so much. You're you're such you're just a blessing. Like I feel like you are just a blessing, and I just really appreciate you. So thank you so much for being on until next time. I feel like, you know, hopefully we could do this again sometime. Thank you so much, Lindsay. Appreciate you.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe next time it'll be with my husband, Josh.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I was thinking that. Oh, I saw that.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, me too. Okay, we'll hold the intention.

SPEAKER_02

All right, thank you so much. Right. So, funny thing, Lindsay and I actually just ended the recording, and then we realized, you know, it's really important to be intentional with these spaces. And, you know, she opened such a beautiful container, which we were talking about, and we forgot to officially close it. So I'm gonna hand this over to Lindsay so that she can officially close the container so that we can all feel complete.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. So if you are able to bring a hand to your heart and a hand to your belly, if you're driving, keep holding that steering wheel. And just to take a moment to give thanks to all of the elemental frequencies for the earth below and the sky above for your precious heart, giving thanks to all that you are and everything that is waking up inside of you with every single breath. I just wanted to remind you that you are the medicine, you are the love, and thank you for being right here and right now. And you may wish to make a sound or a breath or a hum to consciously let the universe know that you are sealing the space of this container. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It is done, it is done, it is done. And so it is.
