How to Build Unshakeable Faith
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
James 2:17 says "faith without works is dead because faith results in action." So, what is faith?
It means trust or dependance. It means to let go of your need for understanding and control. This way of living makes no sense to the world, but it is essential for our soul to find peace and guidance.
This is why we are called to condemn the ways of the world and become heirs of righteousness, lead by faith and reverence of the King.
We know that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains, so from this we must gather that it is not the size of our faith, but the object of it. ⛰️

Hey guys, this is Major Henry Hastings, and welcome to the SMC podcast: Restoring Biblical Masculinity by Raising Up Modern Day Minutemen in the natural and spiritual realms. This is where we tackle real issues men face from leadership and purity to history, spiritual warfare, and discerning the times at hand like the sons of Issachar. So you can stand in the gap at a moment's notice. Let's get into it. All right, guys, our spiritual anchor today is out of Hebrews chapter 11, verse 1. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is actually an activator, it produces fruit. James says, faith without works is dead because faith results in action. So what is faith? It's pesto in the Greek, which means trust or dependence. And a mustard seed of faith can actually move mountains. God puts faith to the test for it to grow, like muscle. The more we exercise it and nourish it, the more it's going to grow. The Bible says the righteous shall walk by faith. This is not trusting in your own understanding, because it makes no sense to the world when you do start walking by faith. The book of Hebrews has an entire chapter on battle-ready faith. In chapter 11, verse 5, it says, By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken, he was commended as having pleased God. And without faith it's impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. And verse seven, by faith Noah being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of righteousness that comes by faith. And then in verse eight, by faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance, and he went out not knowing where he was going. I mean, Abraham packed up and left Ur of the Chaldees, not knowing where he was going. That's faith. That's trust, that's dependence, and faith produced action. And that's why he left in verse 32. And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barack and Samson and Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets. And then verse 33, who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. That is the battle ready, faith. Faith builds discipline, hear the word, speak the word, stand on the word. Every time you choose faith over fear, you fortify your spirit. Fear sees giants, but faith says, hey, they're gonna be our food. It's not about how much faith you need because everything lies in the object of our faith, the one with whom all things are possible. Father, strengthen our faith for the fight. Train us to trust you when we can't see you. Let our confidence in you be our shield and our song. In Jesus' name. Amen.
