Hey guys, this is Major Henry Hastings, and welcome to the SMC podcast: Restoring Biblical Masculinity by Raising Up Modern Day Minute Men in the natural and spiritual realms. This is where we tackle real issues men face from leadership and purity to history, spiritual warfare, and discerning the times at hand like the sons of Issachar. So you can stand in the gap at a moment's notice. Let's get into it. All right, guys, our scriptural anchor for today is Nehemiah 414. Fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes. God never called you to build ministry and neglect your marriage. Your first assignment is your household. You're not just raising a family, you're training a kingdom unit, a fire team. Nehemiah told the people fight for your families because family isn't just emotional, it's missional. Every member plays a vital role. Your wife is your co-commander, your children are your legacy carriers, and you set the rhythm of prayer. You establish the language of honor, you decide whether your home is a refuge or a battlefield. Make your house a base camp where faith gets fueled and love gets practiced. So here's an assignment. If you haven't already done this, take the initiative and develop your family core values. First connect with your co-commander, your wife, and come up with a list of 10 or so values with definitions for the kids in you to choose from. Present it to the kids and facilitate a discussion on which top four or five core values you want to make your own family values. These are values to honor and live out. This will engage your kids. This is what spiritual leadership looks like from a godly man and husband. Father, align our homes with heaven and make our families unified in purpose and strong in love.
