The Future is Here. But What Does God Say About It?
We are living through one of the most significant technological revolutions in human history, from artificial intelligence and gene editing to digital identity systems and space colonization. But while the world focuses on what technology allows us to do, the real question is: what does God say about who we are?.
Welcome to the Season 5 premiere! Today, we are connecting the ancient texts of Genesis 3, 6, and 11 to the modern ambitions of AI, SpaceX, Mars colonization, and the Kardashev scale. We examine how the original temptation of Eden—to pursue power, knowledge, and autonomy apart from God—is the exact same temptation driving today's transhumanist movements.
It is time to rise up like the Sons of Issachar: men who understand the times and know exactly what God's people ought to do.
In This Episode, We Cover:
- The profound spiritual implications hidden inside the SpaceX IPO prospectus and its mission to extend consciousness to the stars.
- How the massive energy demands of AI data centers are physically reshaping our world and pushing us toward space-based solar energy.
- The "protoevangelium" of Genesis 3:15 and the unbroken, ancient war between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent.
- The corruption of the human genome in Genesis 6 and how modern CRISPR technology mirrors this ancient boundary-crossing.
- Why the Tower of Babel wasn't just about architecture, but an unauthorized attempt to access the heavenly realm—and how we are repeating it today.
- The ultimate calling for Christian men to view innovation not through fear or conspiracy, but through biblical discernment.

Men are going back to their families alive and on fire for Jesus. Totally equipped to walk. Period. Welcome to the SMC Podcast. All right, guys. Welcome to the SMC Podcast. Today is the first episode in season five, and it is about discerning the times, technology, transhumanism, and the ancient war for humanity. So we're living through one of the most significant technological revolutions in human history: artificial intelligence, gene editing, human enhancement technologies, digital identity systems, space colonization, autonomous robots, nanotechnology. The pace of change is accelerating faster than most people can keep up with. And every week it seems like another breakthrough is announced, another boundary is crossed, another technological barrier falls. And many people are asking, where is all this going? What does it mean? How should Christians think about these things? Should we embrace them? Should we fear them? Should we resist them? And today I want to challenge you to think differently because I don't believe the most important question is what does technology allow us to do? The most important question is what does God say about who we are as his creation? Because every generation eventually faces the same temptation. The temptation to pursue power, knowledge, autonomy, and transcendence apart from God. The technology changes. The temptation remains the same. And that's why I believe the answers to today's questions begin thousands of years ago in the book of Genesis. Today we're going to connect Genesis chapter three, Genesis chapter six, Genesis 11, artificial intelligence, transhumanism, SpaceX, Mars colonization, the Kardashev scale, and the calling of the sons of Issachar, not through the lens of fear, nor through the lens of conspiracy land, but through the lens of biblical discernment by the Holy Spirit. Because men who understand the times know what God's people ought to do. So let's begin. When this war began in Genesis chapter 3, verse 15. So before we even get there, I want to go over some things that came up. The day before the IPO, initial public offering of SpaceX, I saw on my phone that there was an IPO for SpaceX. And I thought, this is crazy. I need to check this out. So before you can do an IPO, you have to submit a prospectus, which gives everything about the company. It talks about their mission statements, what their plans are, what their goals are. And so as I looked up the SpaceX prospectus, I began to read and was kind of blown away. I'm just going to go through a few things here. And as I go through them, just start thinking because we're going to cover some things here from a supernatural biblical worldview. It says here on page one of their prospectus: our mission is to build the systems and technologies necessary to make life multiplanetary, to understand the true nature of the universe, and to extend the light of consciousness to the stars. I mean, just think about that for a minute. They're going to make life multiplanetary. In other words, to establish colonies on other planets. To do this, we have formed the most ambitious, vertically integrated innovation engine on and off Earth with unmatched capabilities to rapidly manufacture and launch space-based communications that connect the world to harness the sun to power a truth-seeking artificial intelligence that advances scientific discovery and ultimately to build a base on the moon and cities on other planets. Now, I mean, this is a pretty aggressive mission statement. And it continues on. We are rapidly constructing AI compute infrastructure, starting on Earth with the goal of extending to space. Now, I will tell you, you have to have these data centers in order to have the compute power to be able to be mission successful here. And that's why these AI dentists' data centers are just coming in very quickly. And there are governors who are proving these things against the people's will. And it's really interesting to see here because they have to have this AI compute infrastructure on Earth so that they can actually develop it off planet as well. And they need power to do that. One of the very interesting things that I read recently is that the people around Lake Tahoe, Nevada, there were several hundred homes who were alerted by the local electrical company, the local power company, that after a year and a half, they needed to be autonomous or on their own power because they're shutting the power off to this group of homes because of the power requirement that the data center is going to require for compute power. So that's where we're going with this. It continues on. So we're rapidly constructing AI compute infrastructure starting on Earth with the goal of extending to space. And then it says Grok is designed as a truth-seeking AI model. So we know that that's obviously Elon's AI model right now. A lot of people are using Grok, asking Grok questions, et cetera, and getting some pretty, pretty solid answers. I mean, that's not a bad thing. But continuing on here, it says we define truth seeking as the active, relentless pursuit of what is objectively true about reality and grounded in evidence, logic, empirical data, and first principles thinking. So this is a reliance on our own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 comes to mind automatically. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path. This path is being forged by relying on our own understanding apart from God. There is no acknowledgement of God in this whole thing. In fact, that third part of the mission statement was to understand the true nature of the universe. Well, who understands the true nature of the universe? The creator, the one who founded it, the one who spoke it into existence. He's the only one who understands the true nature of the universe. Man will never be able to do that. And so the other one is to extend the light of consciousness to the stars. So this you're starting to see a religion, a religion being formed here in the mission statement. So continuing on here, we believe that space represents the largest economic frontier in human history. Connectivity, infrastructure in space is designed to help everyone on earth have access to education, healthcare, entertainment, and communications, and to enable people to overcome many traditional limits such as physical and political borders. Now, I'm going to tell you, God established borders in Genesis chapter 11. And this right here is a push for a one-world system, a one-world government. And to have that, you have to have a one-world centralized digital currency. So this is really interesting to see how these things all connect. We believe AI infrastructure in space can utilize the virtually limitless power of the sun and thereby enable the use of AI as a transformative force for understanding the universe and improving the daily lives of all humans. Right there, you have the substitution of AI for our creator, Yahweh Elohim, the God most high. And there is none like him. And so now we're starting to see just in the simple first couple pages of the Space Act's perspective that this is the beginning of a religion. This is the foundation of this. It continues on. We believe the convergence of these areas will enable an unprecedented expansion of the global economy. Now we've got a global economy. And then it says here our innovations and technological advancements are redefining industries on Earth while we aim to create new ones on the moon, Mars, and beyond. We are truly building the infrastructure of the future. We have on page three and four. For the entirety of its existence, human civilization has lived on a single celestial body, the earth. I wonder why. Because God created us from the dust of the earth, and he put us on this earth and gave us a dominion mandate. He gave us authority, he has given the earth to the sons of man. The word of God says, This is our authority, this is our birthright. And so, what this is setting up is taking man outside of that boundary where he does not have authority and he has not been given authority by the creator of the universe. And so the current paradigm in which human civilization is confined to one planet exposes humanity to existential threats. All right. Think about it for a minute, guys. What are existential threats? Pandemics, war, all of these different things. So we ensure, I'm quoting here, species level redundancy, and that the light of consciousness will not be tied to a single planet, subject to the inevitable hazards of a harsh and vast universe. We do not want humans to have the same fate as the dinosaurs. This is a completely godless statement. And then it continues on with the prospect that we are entering an age of abundance and an endlessly prosperous and exciting future. So there's going to be promises made to people where they're not going to have to work by the sweat of their brow, a principle that God established in the garden, having clean hands and a pure heart, and they're going to basically be able to do nothing and receive blessing. And it doesn't work that way. Because it completely violates one of the principles God put in place that we reap what we sow. And when we reap to the whirlwind, we sow it. When we um reap good things, we we have blessing. And so this is this is even a violation of that. Continuing on here, because this is where it gets really interesting. AI's ability to revolutionize human potential is directly dependent on meeting exponentially increasing resource demands. On Earth, the massive expansion of data center capacity to support growing compute demand is significantly outpacing electricity generation. That's why those people around Lake Tahoe received uh notice from the power company that they're gonna have to be, you know, off-grid. They need this compute demand. Despite the recent increase in electricity demand from all data centers, electricity generation in the U.S. has grown at an annual rate of less than 3% between 2023 and 2025. While electricity generation in China has grown at approximately twice that rate in the same time period, you're going to see quite a few talking heads talk about how important it is for us to stay ahead of China. And there's the fear bait, because they have to bait you with fear in order for you to buy into this. The supply and demand imbalance is already imposing unsustainable strains on terrestrial power grids. Think about that for a minute. They shut the power off and say they have issues with demand. And so you start getting desperate and you don't have power for three days, four days, a week, three weeks. What's that gonna do? So it puts strains on power grids, supply chains, and the environment. The sun contains approximately 99.8% of the solar system's energy. And as a result, we believe it is the only truly scalable solution to terrestrial energy constraints in the age of AI. Harnessing this energy in space is considerably more efficient than on land. Space-based solar arrays can generate more than five times the energy per unit area of terrestrial solar due to continuous illumination, lack of atmospheric interference, and optimal orientation. What they're gonna do is they're going to launch enough satellites into space to basically uh form a grid or a blanket in space to harness or farm the energy from the sun. SpaceX is well positioned to capture the space-based solar energy through our ability to rapidly access sun synchronous orbit through our satellite manufacturing scale and launch capability. It goes on. But here's one of the things that will just blow your mind because I don't know if you guys know what the Kardashev scale is, but we're going to talk about it in a little bit. Our goal of establishing a lunar presence will enable terawatt scale annual AI compute growth, support deeper space exploration and industrialization, and serve as a stepping stone to establishing a civilization on Mars. We believe the next paradigm shift for humanity is the creation of a resilient, perpetually expanding space fearing or spacefaring civilization that drives continuous innovation across new frontiers, ultimately propelling us to Kardashev type two status. Well, uh Kardashev is a a Russian uh guy and and very brilliant. And he came up with um three levels, and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. Let's roll into this war and link Genesis three, Genesis six, and Genesis 11. In Genesis 3.15, you have what theologians call the proto-Yuangellion. It's the first gospel, it's the first mention of Jesus in the Bible. So Genesis 3.15 says, and I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. Notice here that you have enmity, okay, strife, tension, war between the woman's seed, okay, and the serpent's seed. So notice the serpent has progeny or offspring, and so does the woman. And then it says, he, a reference to the woman's seed, shall bruise your head. Now that's a fatal wound. So this is God prophesying the destruction of the serpent, and you shall bruise his heel. So it won't be without incurring injury, obviously. But a bruise to the heel is not fatal. So many Christians read this passage and move on. But this verse establishes one of the most important themes in all of scripture: a war, a conflict, a battle between two kingdoms, the territory ruled by the serpent, and the territory ruled by God. The seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. Human history is not random. It is the unfolding story of God's redemptive plan and Satan's attempt to oppose it. The enemy's strategy has always been the same: deception, corruption, rebellion to steal, kill, and destroy counterfeit solutions. The battle begins in Genesis and it continues throughout history. When you look at Genesis chapter three and you move into Cain killing Abel, it's really interesting because Cain is the firstborn, and then Abel is the secondborn. The firstborn is supposed to receive the blessing and the privilege and the inheritance. What happens here is sin crouches at the firstborn's door and he succumbs to it and murders his brother, Abel? Do you think that that just happened out of nowhere? In light of this prophecy, do you think the serpent just laid down? Or do you think he started setting traps to destroy the seed? Did he know the seed was going to be Cain? Did he know the seed was going to be Abel? Who is the seed? Well, he doesn't know. We know because we're looking back on this thousands of years. But I believe that the serpent put that in Cain to destroy the seed. And why would Abel be considered the seed? Because he was the one bringing the sacrifice that was pleasing to God. And Cain did not. And so think about that. If the serpent is able to remove the seed from the earth, then what God has said and who he's promised this to is. Is not going to be fulfilled. And he wins this battle. So as we see the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, in this case, Cain, kill the seed of the woman, Abel, it's an attempt to remove the seed and block the fulfillment of Genesis 315. So the battle begins in Genesis and continues throughout history. Look at the temptation in Eden. The serpent said, You will be like God. The issue wasn't fruit, the issue was autonomy, the desire to obtain knowledge and power apart from submission to God. Think about that in light of the Space X prospectus. Humanity has pursued that same path ever since. The temptation wasn't, you know, trust God. The temptation was become your own God, define your own truth, determine your own destiny. And that temptation remains alive today, especially as we just read the perspective on SpaceX. So technology is not inherently evil, but technology often becomes the vehicle through which humanity attempts to transcend its God-given limitations. The question is not whether knowledge is good, the question is whether we seek knowledge under God's authority or apart from it. So let's move into Genesis chapter six and the attempt to corrupt humanity. Genesis six introduces another escalation in the conflict. So let's take a look at Genesis six, one through four. It says here in the ESV I'm reading from, when man began to multiply on the face of the earth or land, and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive, and they took as their wives any they chose. Then the Lord said, My spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh, and his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. This is another thing that's interesting that we'll get into, but with uh some of the advancements in gene splicing and CRISPR technology, you're looking at expanding man's years well beyond a hundred and twenty. And you think like, who wouldn't want that? I mean, is that not a temptation that most people who are undiscerning would fall into if you think about it? Verse four, the Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came into the daughters of man, and they bore children to them, these were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. And the Lord God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually, and the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, I will blot out man, whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals, and creeping things, and birds of heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them, but Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Long story short, and we'll get into this in this season, but Noah's genome was not corrupted. Noah and his three sons, Shem, Ham and Japhetha, had pure genomes. But these Beneha Elohim, the sons of God in Genesis six, when they intermarried, when they they produced a hybrid race, half angelic and half human. And it was a corruption of the human genome. And it led to all sorts of evil on the face of the earth. And I believe that actually, when you think about God even destroying the animal kingdom, I believe that the corruption of the animals' genome was also affected because there was mating with animals as well. So humanity became corrupted. Violence filled the earth. The boundaries God established were totally violated, and the result was judgment. Throughout scripture, we see reoccurring attempts to corrupt what God created. The enemy hates the image of God in mankind. And when you corrupt the human genome, you corrupt the image of God. Why? Because man was created to represent God's authority on the earth. And so when we take a look at like Satan, our adversary, the devil, he had a pre-fall glory in Ezekiel chapter 28. And it discusses his pre-fall glory. In fact, if we if we go there, um matter of fact, I'll I'll do it quicker by by uh whipping in here in Bible Gateway. Let's see. All right, in in verse 11, it says, moreover, Ezekiel 28, verse 11, moreover, the word of the Lord came to me saying, Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre and say to him, Thus says the Lord God. Now, this is targeted because it's you can tell it's not directed to a human being. It's directed to Nakash, okay, or the seed of the serpent who is empowering the king. And so he says here, you were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and beauty, perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God. Okay. Who did we find in Eden in the Garden of God? We found the serpent. Okay. That was in his post-fall state, though. But pre-fall state, he was in the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering, the Sardius, topaz, and diamond, burl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes, those are musical instruments, was prepared for you on the day you were created. Now, when you factor in Colossians chapter one, and you see that all things were created by and for the Son, Jesus Christ, you see who Satan's creator is. And just think about that for a minute. When Satan came to Jesus in Matthew chapter four, and he tempted him. Right? One of Jesus' responses in the last one was, You shall worship the Lord thy God. Who was standing in front of Satan when Satan said, Bow down and worship me? The very one who created him. And Satan knew who he was. He's trying to get the creator to worship him. I mean, this is crazy when you think about all things were created by Jesus and for Jesus in Colossians 1, and take a look at this in Ezekiel 28, and you compare scripture with scripture, and it says, you were the anointed cherub. That's a class of angel who covers. I established you. You were on the holy mountain of God. The holy mountain of God is Mount Zion. That's the seat of God's government. You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in all your ways from the day you were created till iniquity was found in you. By the abundance of your trading, you became filled with violence within, and you sinned. Therefore, I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground or earth. I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you. You defiled your sanctuaries. Notice he had sanctuaries, okay, places of worship, by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading or trafficking. Therefore, I brought fire from your midst, it devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth, in the sight of all who saw you. All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you. You have become a horror and shall be no more forever. This is a panoramic prophecy that spans thousands of years. It has multiple layers of fulfillment within it. And when you read Revelation chapter 12, verse 4, you see that Satan was cast down to the earth. So you have a in the pre-Adamic age, before Adam was created, Satan was created. Lucifer. He was the anointed cherub who covers. He was in the garden of God. And so now you have the enemy, his prefall glory in Ezekiel 28. We see that he's been cast down to earth, and we have this war that's happening. So let's fast forward to Genesis chapter 11. We have the Tower of Babel, humanity united under Nimrod's rule and reign. One language, one purpose, one centralized government system. And what was their motivation? Let us make a name for ourselves. Notice the pattern. Unity apart from God, power apart from God, technology apart from God, a desire to reach the heavens apart from God. And let me tell you, when they built the Tower of Babel, which in Akkadian Babel means gate of the gods, God did not come down and destroy the Tower of Babel because of its height. That's ridiculous. That doesn't threaten God. I mean, look at some of the skyscrapers in Abu Dhabi. Look at the tall buildings in some of our major cities in the United States. Those are far higher than the Tower of Babel. And God has not destroyed them. What it was was an attempt to recover pre-flood wisdom, knowledge, and mysteries that the sons of God introduced to the human race back in Genesis six. It's unauthorized access into the heavenly realm for knowledge. And that goes right back to Eve in the garden. So many scholars believe that the Tower of Babel was a ziggurat, a sacred structure or temple designed to connect heaven and earth. So the issue wasn't architecture, it was rebellion. Humanity attempting to establish civilization on its own terms. So the Babel pattern has repeated itself throughout history. Whether man seeks power without God, Babel reappears. So when you think about SpaceX, Mars, recolonization, and human destiny, today many of the world's brightest minds are discussing humanity's future among the stars. SpaceX has inspired millions with the vision of becoming a multiplanetary species. The engineering achievements are absolutely remarkable. We have to admit that. The innovation is extraordinary, but Christian men should ask deeper questions. Why do we want to go? What story are we telling ourselves? What vision of humanity is driving these ambitions? Is our hope ultimately in technology or in the kingdom of God? Again, technology itself is not the enemy. The issue is our worldview. So let's talk about the Kardashev scale because, in the perspective, it states right here that the next paradigm shift for humanity is the creation of a resilient, perpetually expanding, spacefaring civilization that drives continuous innovation across new frontiers, ultimately propelling us to Kardashev type two status. Type two. There's type one, two, and three. It's called the Kardashev scale. Russian astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev, a brilliant man, proposed a scale for measuring civilizations based on energy consumption. So a type one civilization harnesses the energy of their planet. A type two civilization harnesses the energy of a star. And a type three civilization harnesses the energy of a galaxy. So many futurists see humanity moving toward these milestones. The question is: as our power increases, does our wisdom increase? As our capabilities increase, does our character increase? Because history teaches us that power without righteousness becomes dangerous, extremely dangerous. So let's talk about transhumanism here and the future of man. Perhaps no movement raises more profound questions than transhumanism. Transhumanism seeks to use technology to enhance human capabilities, artificial intelligence, genetic engineering, CRISPR, CRISPR. It's gene editing technology that allows scientists to cut, remove, and replace or insert DNA at specific locations within an organism's genome. A simple way to explain it is it's essentially a biological find and replace tool for DNA. And then you have brain computer interfaces, life extension technologies, human enhancement. Again, the question isn't whether technology can do these things. The question is, what does it mean to be human? Scripture teaches us that mankind is created in the image of God, according to Genesis 1:26 through 28. In the image of likeness of God, he created them. Male and female. So as sons of Issachar today, from 1 Chronicles chapter 12, verse 32, of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do. This is the calling. Not fear, not ignorance, not blind acceptance, discernment. The sons of Issachar understood the times. They understood culture. They understood what God was doing. And they knew how God's people should respond. So, gentlemen, we need sons of Issachar today. Men who understand the Word of God, men who understand technology, men who understand culture, men who understand spiritual warfare and know the spirit's ways with them. Men who understand the times. So technology is not the enemy. Artificial intelligence is not the enemy. Space exploration is not the enemy. Innovation is not the enemy. But every generation faces the temptation to pursue power and knowledge apart from God. That temptation began in Eden, it resurfaced before the flood, and it reappeared at Babel. And it remains with us today. Our hope, our trust is not in AI. It is not in colonizing Mars. Our hope is not in transhumanism. Our hope is not in technology. Our hope is in Jesus Christ and his kingdom. So the question before us is very simple. Will we allow culture to disciple us, or will we allow scripture to disciple us? And like the sons of Issachar, may we become men who understand the times and know what God's people should do. Because the days ahead will require wisdom, discernment, courage, faithfulness, and men who refuse to compromise. I'll see you in episode two.
