Hi everyone, welcome back to Florent with Nicole, the series that takes you from absolute beginner to floon in Cantonese. In today's lesson, we are going to continue practicing what we have learned about sentence structure. Do you remember the sentence structure for yes or no question?

Subject verb mm verb object. How do you say are you going to the supermarket? Ne ho m ho chu si let's break it down.

Ne means you that's the subject. Ho m hoy or not going? Chu si supermarket. That's the object. Please repeat after me.

Ne ho m ho chre going to the supermarket? Let's try another one. How do you say are you eating breakfast? Ne sick m sick.

Let's break it down. Nei means you. That's the subject. Sig m sick. Eating or not eating? Jothan means breakfast. That's the object. Please repeat after me.

Ne se m sick. Are you eating breakfast? Now let's practice Yao Mo. Do you remember the sentence structure? Subject Yao Mo Object. Do you remember how to use Yao Mo? It is used to ask did you, is there or A there question. How should you say is there a bathroom here? Ni do Yao Mo Ti so let's break it down.

Ni do means here. That's the subject. Yao Mo means is there. Si so means washroom. That's the object. Please repeat after me.

Ni do Yao Mo Ti Sa a bathroom here? Let's try another example. How should you say did you eat breakfast? Ne Yao Mo Sig Cho Tan Let's break it down.

Ne Yao Mo means did you? Sig means to eat. That's the verb. Cho Chan means breakfast. That's the object. Please repeat after me.

When you are asking a yes or no question, the sentence structure is subject, verb mm verb object. Please remember that when you are answering a yes or no question, you should answer with the verb. When you want to ask a is there or are there question, the sentence structure is subject yao mo object. When you want to ask did you, the sentence structure should be subject yao mo verb object. Now let's recap the sentences we learned today.
