She was on the can, cans, however you say it, can, um uh panel, and she was talking about a time where Whitney Houston was on her show, and Whitney had been clean for a long time. And on this specific episode, which was one of the last ones that she did on her show, she had fallen on stage. Right. Oprah sounded initially like she was coming from a place of, oh no, we gotta protect Whitney. She begged the crowd to delete their pictures and do it for her, and they honored that. And this has been an untold story for this whole time.

Now, why she chose to bring it up on a national stage when no one knew about it, yeah, and it's in now a social media world where these clips go viral and you don't get them back, I do not know.

And I what I loved about her story, the initial part was that she had the power, influence, and ability to keep it undercover. It's Oprah. Right. Yeah. But you were the one that surfaced this. Nobody would have known that story. Nobody's talking about Whitney from that perspective right now. If anything, we talked about like the Olympics, we talked about the NFL playoffs, and we've been comparing those people to her singing the national anthem, right? That that's been the posity of talking about Whitney.

So I really don't understand what her intentions were in any capacity that that would have come up and she would have thought that that was the appropriate story to tell.

In this case, she's out of touch. Yeah. Oprah's done so many fantastic things for our community, for other communities, for herself. Like she she's done great things, and there's a lot that we should be proud about when we see someone like her doing well, but she's not helping herself where others feel like she's a sellout or an opportunist. Um, moments like these don't don't really help that.

Right. Anyway, speaking of people talking, more around social media. Okay, keep going. Woo child. So there's two viral clips of women changing their tires and their men being with them. So the first one that I saw was a woman. It was raining, she was on the ground changing her tire. Her significant other, don't know who he was, brother, boyfriend, whomever.

Somebody, a male, was standing over her as she was kneeled down, changing the tire. She was holding an umbrella and trying to change the tire, and that person got back in the car as she was changing the tire. That was the first video I saw. The second video I saw was of a guy telling his own story around catching a flat tire with his girl. And he said, This was my girl. Neither of them knew how to change a tire, so they called AAA. And as they called AAA, uh a gentleman in a banging car drives up and he says, Do you need some help changing your tire? And he was like, Nah, man, we good. And they waited 45 more minutes for Triple A to come because he ain't want this man changing the tire and he didn't know how to change it himself. It wasn't as much of well, it was some of the pride part of it, but he was like, the way he described this man was like, nah, man, you too good to be up here making me look bad, versus thinking about the benefit of getting on with your business with your girl and getting out of there. Don't get me wrong, I don't know how to change a tire. I would call triple A. But I'm not gonna do is sit in my car or have someone offer to help and not take it, or worse, I'm gonna be the one changing the tire and you looking at me. You ain't holding the umbrella, you ain't walking me through it like YouTube University learning on the spot or something in the moment. So, question for you Is Chiveree dead?

It's a hard question to ask because there are a lot of men in our age bracket who I would say no. Yeah, but we haven't been teaching these younger generations how to do things, right? So I learned how to change a tire by getting a flat with our father, getting out and watching him and him explaining it to me. So good and actually putting it into practice when I got a flat tire myself. So I always wanted to make sure that I was independent, I wasn't helpless, that I can change my tire and get on the road. Because a lot of times these triple A type services, they take an hour or two to get to you. Yeah. I want to get on with my life. So if if there are safe conditions, I would love to change my own tire and keep it moving.

Um if your man was in the car with you though? That is what makes the difference. Yeah. If there are two of us, either both of us are gonna be out changing the tire or you're gonna be out changing the tire. If you don't know how to do it, get out and help me. You're not I'm not gonna be out in the rain and you're not holding the umbrella over the two of us so I can change the tire. Do something. Why are you not participating in this? What makes you think that you get to sit in the car like a princess?

I don't think there's enough mentoring going on with men. I would agree. And that's why, like, there has to be some male in your life that comes along and teaches you how to tie a tie, how to change a tire, how to treat a a lady. Like, we we need more male mentors. Funny story though. Yeah. I was pregnant and uh I hit something and it blew out two of my tires. I just knew I was like, I'm gonna change this tire real quick. The Lord knew to give me two flats because I would have changed that tire pregnant.

Are you crazy? And but the fact that you merely think that that's appropriate to do and you need it to do.

And I think that is the issue. Thinking to myself, I have to be that independent that I have to change tires myself while pregnant. And it is a level of comfort that women are not feeling anymore. That we don't feel like we can depend on men. We don't feel like we can call then they'll come and help. That's a societal change that's happened recently. That has not always been the case.

No, I agree. So I'm gonna call triple A and I'ma wait. And I'm probably gonna call Sean, but he's gonna tell me by the time I get there, call triple A.

Right. Yeah, but it just it depends. If Sean is with you, Sean ain't gonna sit in the car.

No, I can tell you, he ain't gonna let me get out and go change no tires. No. Not only because he knows I can, but like he's that's just not that level of uh masculinity. It's it goes kind of back to the last question around pecking order in your relationship, right? You can't want to be first and be seen as leader and be seen as the king and be seen as the person that you go to and you don't show up that way in moments of reflection and need. So for me, I do my pecking order is my husband first. It's going to be that, and I expect you to lead in the moments where you have opportunities to do that. Agreed. And that's how you keep the respect that's there, and the marriage continues to flourish in that way.

Key point. Is he, right? I'm not gonna be like, yeah, yeah, come on over. I'm gonna let him take the lead on it. Now, if he chooses not to, and he goes in a different direction. It ain't that he ain't gonna hear my mouth. Um, but I can't imagine he'd be like, Yeah, let's just be stuck out here. Like we like if we're in the car, we're going somewhere.

Right? One, he's a New Yorker, he knows how to change a tire. Yeah, but two, if he didn't, I just can't see him being like, nah, we'll figure it out, keep it pushing, bruh.

Like it was his ego. I think it was he was embarrassed that he didn't know how. And here comes somebody who clearly looks better, has a better vehicle, and is coming to be a hero. He was like, nah, not on my watch. Not on my watch. Now, what I'd love to know is, are they still together? And he was immature enough to make this video about the situation, showing his face and like almost boasting around what he did. So if the girl is still with them, shame on you.

Like the girl we talked about at brunch where she was filming herself screaming at the guy for not paying, this guy filming himself, not allowing another man to change the tire. Wow. Well, what is funny is that there's enough people who are haters that you always find someone who's an ally and they catch up on that one little comment and forget the thousand other where they sound crazy. Yeah, that's true. That's funny. Yeah.

More around the social media world. So I'm having a conversation with some girlfriends and we're talking about Target. You know, Target is Target. Surprisingly, some split thoughts around still shopping there, which I'm really surprised about, but you know, to each their own. It is something that you stand on or you don't stand on, and you know, it is what it is. So frustrated in the moment, but the same token. What am I arguing with you for? Your coins, right? Your coins, and you be disrespected and deal with it. Oh uh but anyway, I know I obviously feel strongly. But anyway, so then we started talking about Jay-Z. And if you don't know, Jay-Z has an exclusive partnership, keyword exclusive partnership, where he is re-releasing Reasonable Doubt album after 30 years with Target. And we then got on this conversation around is he being an opportunist? Is he trying to do what he did with the NFL and bridge a gap that you know brings back the community but yet helps himself in the business? Like, what's what's the motivation here? I will say, um, we were split. Um, not only it's still going to Target, but two, like, that's a I mean, for the culture, Reasonable Doubt was a good album.

And so, you know, it's introducing it to people who've never heard it before.

True. There's a whole new market of people who weren't even born, haven't heard it, or if they've heard it, it's not the same as getting a re-released album. So, one, is he being an opportunist? Is this something that is a great opportunity for him that he's taken advantage of? Do you think that he's actually trying to bridge a gap and do something that uh allows for the culture to come back? Like what do you think his motivations are?

The problem is he's not speaking. Right. So tell us what your motivations are. Tell us why you're doing this. You know you are very, very well versed in what's going on in the country, specifically around economics. Very, very bright person. Right. You know that there is a target boycott that even though Jamal Bryan said it was over, it's not over for a lot of Americans.

Yeah. So why would you do this and not say something? Right. And I think that's the part that I'm waiting for. I'm waiting for you to say why you are deciding to go with Target. And if you're trying to bridge a gap, that does make good sense. But for the people who are boycotting, why would we go support you if there's nothing in it for any of us? It's all for you.

I mean, not not only do I not care that much about his music that it would make me break what my true mission is, but where it is is just it's a it's a non-starter. Right. But let me shout out to Target, because that is genius. Somebody is working at Target. Now it ain't gonna work. But it was genius. It is genius because you already got some community who still go there. Right. And this is how I know that people know better. Because one of the one of the people who told me in in my girl circle that they go, they said that sometimes they'll see someone else there and they'll be like looking at each other like, what you doing here? What you doing here? So you know you ain't supposed to be in there. Right. But nonetheless, people are still in there, and if they have a reason to go there because it's something that they exclusively want, they're gonna go.

I I love Jay-Z. Uh, you know, the only other woman that could have gotten him from me was Beyoncé. So, you know, the better woman won. But uh a little bit of respect in the situation. Yeah, I just I don't love him enough to go buy an album from Target, especially if he's not telling us the why behind what he did. With the NFL made good sense. And it the benefit of seeing the representation and inclusivity of his deal with the NFL, that benefits everyone.

I mean, look at today. This last Super Bowl was like had people on fire. Yeah. It had people on fire on fire for years. Yeah, and that was definitely because Jay-Z's influence and um partnerships that he created through there. So this could be a beautiful thing. Why not leverage it and tell us? Otherwise, it is capitalism at its best and go do you, but it also comes with a consequence. And I think Target and him better learn that our money is our power, and we've learned that more than anything in the last year.

Yeah. More to come, I guess. Speaking of power, one more thing around social media. So again, scrolling. So there was this dad who was traveling with his two sweet little girls, and they stopped off at a quick trip, QT, in Florida, and um, they needed to go to the restroom. So he decided to check to see if anyone was in the women's restroom, and he took his two little girls into the women's restroom. Well, here comes Captain Save him, uh, some guy, and he sees two other women who need to go to the bathroom. And I don't know if they were relatives or they were just two women. One of them was in a wheelchair, and they said a man is in the restroom. So he goes in there and he does see a man in the restroom, and he's saying, You're not supposed to be in here. The guy says, Hey, I'm with my two daughters, they needed to go to the bathroom. I'm not taking them to the men's room. No, they're washing their hands, we're almost done. The guy proceeds to not only continue to tell him to get out, but calls the police on him so that the police can get him out of there. And as he's describing it, it's getting worse. There's a man with his two little girls in the women's bathroom using the women's bathroom. The manager comes over from QT and she clearly doesn't agree with this guy being aggressive towards him. He's getting the girls are washing their hands, he's filming at this point. The manager is standing at the door between the man and them. She's handing a paper towel to the girls, and then she finally, I guess, has had it, and she's closed the door on this man so that they can finish doing what you do in the bathroom and get out of it.

Well, the guy doesn't stop. The dude comes out the bathroom, and the girls come out the bathroom, and he is still going at them. And he touches the man, and all of this is on camera. So, my question is if you're traveling and you're with your son or you're with your daughter of the opposite sex, and they have to go to the bathroom, you don't have another means of taking them. Do you take them into your own bathroom? Do you go into the opposite? What do you do? Like, what is the right thing to do in those situations?

My children are young. They're coming in the ladies' room, period. Now, it's very clear that both of my sons like girls.

But we're going into the bathroom. We'll we're gonna go into the family restroom if it's available. Yes. But if it's not available, we're going in the women's room. Period. I do not trust that they will go into the men's room, do what they need to do appropriately, and come out on their own. I need to see you wash hands. I need to make sure that you're not sitting your raw butt on the toilet. Like I need to make sure that the conditions are really okay for you to use the restaurant. As a male, I would prefer you take your daughters into the women's room because what woman, what child do you want to walk into the men's room with the urinals?

So you want two little girls to walk into the men's room with the urinals and men standing there at the urinals. Yes, you're gonna take them into the stall, but that's what you want the little girls to see? Like and and I don't I cannot live in a society. It it just doesn't make good sense to me. Where you are so concerned with what other people do. Yeah. Like if it isn't bothering you and it isn't affecting you, keep it push, mind your mother business.

I don't get it. For the life of me, I don't get it. Why do you think the police need to get involved? And not to mention perpetrators, right? And so, like you're talking about just the general normal activity of doing it. What about people who have bad intentions for your kids? It takes two seconds to harm someone if given the opportunity. And your little sweet boys walking in there, or these girls were little, they were adorably little. Heck no. And men are no different from women, there are predators all around. Everywhere. So, yes, I would have done the same thing as him. Now, if there were a whole bunch of women in there and he walked in there, you know, maybe wait until they clear or figure something out. Tell the manager, you know. But the reality is nobody was in there. And on top of that, the manager was okay with it.

And I guess maybe I'm a little bit more sensitive to it because we're two, we were two girls. We traveled with our father all the time. Yes, we're 13 months apart, and if we had to go to the bathroom, daddy would have had to figure it out. Right. So, what do you expect this man to do?

Well, whatever decision he would have made would have been wrong in this guy's eyes.

So he just wanted to be in somebody else's business. He just wanted to have his say. And again, I I firmly believe the calling of the police is wrong in non emergency situations. They have enough things going on where they need to their attention that you don't call them over a man taking his children to the restaurant.

Yes. And it's okay to disagree. It's the how they go about it that we're talking about. You're not breaking the law in the sense that you need to call the police from real injustice to come over there to watch you actually assault this man on camera because you touched him. That's the crime.

And that just, you know, leads me into our what the Florida because fun. You can't get enough of the madness in our state. Yes. Tell me more. What the Florida? Well, I'm gonna read this so you can hear it the way that I read it. Because this one is ridiculous. Here we go. Dash cam video shows Cop accidentally shooting fellow officer during horseplay. The shooting happened in inside a Pasadena police parking garage last September, but the video was just released on Wednesday. What in the world? A patrol car can be seen in the video pulling up behind two officers who were standing by another vehicle. One of the officers standing outside drew his gun and pointed it at an officer inside a patrol car before putting it back into the holster.

The officer inside the car then drew his gun and it discharged with a bullet going through the windshield and striking the standing officer in the shoulder. Oh my God. That's not funny, but that is funny. Pasadena police chief said the injured officer has since recovered and disciplinary action was taken in what is described as a horseplay incident. What in the world? I don't understand. With all the crime going on. Y'all out here playing in the parking lot. And I watched the video, and he shoots the man, and the guy is like, he he fell out like he was probably even shocked. He was he he knew he was a gauntner. Oh my god. And this is the part that is so crazy to me. They were all playing, and once they realized it got serious, once they realized it got serious, nobody moved. Because they didn't know what to do. Nobody moved. They were stunned. The officer, the two that were standing outside, the one that was in the car, he shot him. He didn't even get out of the car. I didn't see anywhere in the dashboard cam footage where he got out of the car to help him. The other guy kind of multiple people out there. Yes. So he could have shot the other guy. He could have shot him. He he it two two inches closer and it could have shot him in the in the chest and really done some damage. But the other guy kind of watched him stumble to the ground. Both of them were shocked. And then the officer that was standing outside with him, he finally walked over to him. I don't remember seeing them radio for help. I don't remember seeing anybody go. The officer that was in the car never got out the car. But do you think that he thought he was playing?
