Hello. Welcome. Welcome back to In Good Faith Podcast. I'm Amber and I'm Alyssa. And we're glad to have you. Happy Friday. I feel like my voice sounds weird today. Does it sound different? I feel weird. It feels like it sounds like really husky and like gorgeous. Like, you know, whenever you're sick and you go hoarse. No, I never go hoarse, so I never get that luxury. That's like, I feel like such a cool girl whenever my voice goes hoarse. I think everybody does. What what what does that like mean? What is that? Some sort of illness, I'm sure. Yeah, some sort of weird ailment. Well, we're glad you're here. We're glad you're listening. I have to take off these headphones. It's not working for me today. I thought you were avid into that's not even right. An ad phone or avid headphone user. I was, but I have my glasses on today. Did you notice? I did. They are grimy as grimy. Every time we record, I wear my glasses, and then I take them off because they bug me, and then I can't see you the entire time. Yeah, I was tempted, and but I just went cross-eyed. So today we're have a fun topic, which we'll obviously get into it. You just wait. You guys just wait. So do you have any fun things that you've done this past week that deserves a spot on the pod? Well, we had a nice little vacation. Yeah. Mini vacation. That was wonderful. We just had a few days up in Howie in the Hills. It was so much fun. Like at this little resort. It was like a very low-key resort. It was like a golf resort. Absolutely what I needed. It was. It was the perfect little vacation. Like, I feel like that's where we thrive. Like just like a little bit. I just want a package. Yes. Like sitting by the the oceans. What ocean? Sitting by the pool. Sees a salad. Oh my word. Like shaky. A book. The pool. Girl, don't even get on that book. Oh, that book. I took a picture of that book and it looked like I read it. Little do they know. I was three pages in for the entire weekend. I have no focus. Whenever I'm sitting like in public, it's very hard for me to focus. Because everyone is so entertaining around me. I want to watch them in the world. It's also hard to focus at home, too. So I don't know what that means. But I tried and I tried actually I brought the book with me. I think I'm on page like 14. That's it. Yeah. Most people like can finish a book in two days. I just devoured that book. I've never devoured a book. I devoured the first 35. Oh. The only book I've read in like one day was The Summer I Turned Pretty. Yeah. That was before it was even a thing. Yeah. It was good. I there was oh, the one book I devoured in one day was that Chip and Joanna Gaines book. Really? Was that good? No. It wasn't that good. It it was just short. And I was in the car and I needed something. Oh heavens. I don't know how I didn't get car sick, but I read it. I think I like started it. Remember, we went down to Pompeo for Christmas. Started it like, I don't know, sometime whenever I got the gift. It was like right after Christmas or New Year's or something. And I started it there and then I finished it whenever I got home, which was like a day and a half. So smarty pants. So smart. But yeah, we laid by the pool. I had my brought my hand embroidery kit. So I was just embroidering away at the I keep saying at the beach. At the ocean. We were at the swimming pool in central Florida. But it was really nice because the whole, it's called Mission Resort and Spa. Shout out. Shout out. M R. Mission Resort. It's Mission N. Oh. Resort and Club or something. It doesn't matter. I R plus C. We're already messing up. We're going off on weird tangents already. But it was like very Spanish vibes. We can't the whole time we were like, oh, this is just giving Greece vibes. It was like wholeheartedly not, but to us, we haven't gone on a nice vacation in a little bit, so it was everything. It was genuinely a very, very pretty spot, and I highly recommend it. Close to Mount Dora. It was just so cute. Very cute. They have pickleball. We rode bikes. Yeah. So that's our main update. Yeah. I would say that's one step up. Two steps up from mediocre. Yeah. That was above average. Yeah. For sure. Above average. It goes mediocre, average, above average. I feel like that falls in that category. For life updates. I don't really have a life update, but I saw a post today that Taylor Swift made. And it was like. Did you follow her? No. It like popped up on my Facebook. And I don't know, she like revealed something that she's gonna be on like Toy Toy Story or something. Toy Day Toy. Toy Toy. She's having a song on Toy Story. He almost did it again. I can't say that. Toy Toy. Tool Story. But then the comments are like, oh my gosh, I knew it. The TS and then the 13 clouds on the poster. And I don't know what they're talking about. I had to look it up. But it seems really fun to be a Swifty. And I think I might start. So she leaves so many like fun Easter eggs for people to like and clues for people to figure out. Doesn't TS stand for Toy Story on the post? That's what they thought. Right. Okay, yeah. But the 13 clouds, because 13 is her lucky number. Some crap like that. That's dumb. I don't know. I'm not really a Taylor Swift fan. But I'd like to start trying. Just to figure out some clues. Yeah. It seems fun. Clue! Yeah, I see. I love John Mayer. He is my Taylor Swift, but he doesn't do anything cool like that. No. They're enemies. Yeah. Can you like John Mayer anymore? I'll like John Mayer over Ten Taylor Swift. Well, hmm. What else do I have? I always look through my camera roll to see like what I did over the last couple days. Because honestly, my life is so uninteresting. No, it's not. I want to buy an old F-250. You already talked about this. On the podcast. Oh yeah. But look, I just pulled up that picture. Isn't that cute? Sorry. I didn't realize. You in a truck. Nah. I think I could make it work. No. Yeah, we want vacation. Ben's like, Amber. I told you to write a list. Sorry, Ben. Vacation. Amber wants a truck again. Oh, 250 though? Isn't that big? Yo boy. No, I'm just kidding. I don't know. That's just what I see written on the back. I it doesn't look that big to me. Okay, yesterday I went to Walmart after work because I needed some band-aids. I wouldn't disclose. Yeah, I wouldn't disclose why I needed band-aids. It's a little graphic. Let's just say it has something to do with our half marathon. And my toenail. But I went to Walmart for band-aids and went in for that, came out with three new clothing items. Did I tell you what I bought? Uh yeah. Oh. Dang it. I was working though, and I only heard one of the things. Oh, yeah. That phone call was void because you didn't hear a thing I said. Literally, I was so offended. I was like, yo, I just said that. And like she asked, oh, but did you find that? Like, I just said that. I was trying, but I was emailing people and I was trying to do both and I couldn't hear what you're saying. Well, I uh went to Walmart because well, I already said why, but TikTok has been influencing me. That's why I need to get back off of that thing. I know that. I know. Sabrina and Katie, listen up. Pretty soon your girl's not gonna be on there. And it's gonna I I've I've I've lost all my tokens. Like going on TikTok, like honestly, it's just you th you s tail as old as time. I know. I don't know where to post content. Oh, but I have to figure out what the trends are. Yeah. And then you're just watching TikToks. But I have been seeing TikToks about Walmart, and I was telling you about that bandana bag, or you were laying with me. We're we were having a sleepover and we're watching TikTok. That sounds so weird, baby. But they have this really cute bandana bag. It was $24 though, and I that's big money at Walmart. It should be like $6 at Walmart. I think so too. I spent $60 on these earrings at wherever we were. I'm like, that's super reasonable because we're in like a jewelry shop. I go to Walmart, I saw an $8 necklace. I said, are they out of their minds? $8.97. What do you think it should have costed? $3.3.97 is a couple of things. They're not $2. You guys, I used to get these huggy earrings from Walmart religiously. They're like $2 in some. And at this point, I think they're like five or six dollars. That's like insane. Like, you know how people like pay attention to like gas prices? Like that's how you know like the economy, whatever. Mine is that pair of earrings at Walmart. Inflation needs to calm down because I need my huggy hoops. Anyways, off on a tangent again, I saw the bandana bag. So cute. And I think I'll be going back for it. There was a lot of them there, and I swear if I go back and there's none there, I'm gonna be mad. You didn't get it? I thought you said you did. No, I told you twice that I didn't get it. And then they have like all of these cute necklaces, which I will say our Walmart was very limited on the necklaces. What else did they have? The hair clips, so cute. They're like really cute for like summer. It makes me want to go to Nantucket. Are they like sturdy? I think so. For my hair. Yeah, they're like really cute. And then all of the clothes, I thought that I was shopping somewhere else. It was really cute. I thought that I was an HM and Zara for a second. Then I had to like blink twice and looked around. Yeah, then I heard the checkout beeping. But I got this little red baby doll dress is really cute. And then I got oh, a pair of shorts, and they're really long. They're like those trendy girl shorts. I almost got those, but I don't know if like I have the right height. I don't have the right any body part for that. Like I feel like you need to be like tall. Yeah, nothing that I have is working for those. I look like Adam Sandler. I do miniature version. I look like Adam Sandler's skinny version. Like it's a really bad my calves are not doing me any favors. The chicken legs popping out of the jean jorts, or I guess the jorts, like it's kind of bad. But I'm gonna roll with it for the summer. I feel like a little pair of like kitten heels and like a little tank could potentially look okay. I want to try them on. Yeah, there is a white pair that I want to get too. But do you notice this whenever you try on a pair of jeans and you try on a pair of like that same jean but in white or a different color? Those ones are always bigger and the jean ones always fit better. Hmm. Different fabric. That's like the third time that's happened to me in a store. What's the science behind it? Well, different fabrics. I guess. I suppose. I guess. Yeah, that's pretty much all I have. That's it. You guys. Yeah. Oh, topic reveal. Topic review. Okay. Today we're talking about women of the Bible and who's invited to Girls' Night. This is let's is there helicopters flying? What's going on here? Maybe a lawnmower. It doesn't matter. So yeah, we're talking about the different women of the Bible that we feel like me personally and Alyssa personally, like that we would feel that we we would be friends with and like how they'd fit into our friend group and whether or not they're invited to girl tonight. So let's get into it, guys. Would you like to start? Well, first off, I think Martha. She would be the one hosting. Yeah. Oh, that's true. I didn't even think about like who was gonna host it. I was just saying, like, if I hosted it, I totally agree that Martha was hosting. This is our friend group, and yeah, we would have girls' name at Martha's. Okay. I feel like she's the mom of the group. Yeah. 1000%. She's type A queen. Yeah. And I think, like, okay, so say you did a dinner party, she's the one hosting, she has a garden that she's harvested all the food, and she hand makes everything from scratch from her garden. She's giving Martha Stewart. I think that's where that came from. Yeah. But I feel like she, Martha gets annoyed. I feel like, I don't know if annoyed is the right word. Hold on. I wrote it down. Oh, she gets overwhelmed and can harbor resentment, I feel, as she did a little bit towards Mary, like, hello, why aren't you helping me do this and that to prepare? But I feel like we all just need to tell Martha to be like, hey, it's okay. Like, we're all friends here. Like, you don't have to have it perfect. Like, we're just having fun. Speaking of Mary, she would have to be invited too. So there's a little sister dynamic. Martha's like, can I just have my own friends? I feel like me and Mary would be friends. And you and Martha would be friends. Oh, okay. If we're going on a trip, Martha is putting the the passports in her bag. So she's putting the Airbnb on her card. She's booking the Airbnb. You're just describing yourself. No, I'm I'm I'm writing down what I wrote. I know. She has a full itinerary to a T. She's trip maxing. She's organization maxing. Is that what the cool kids say? I think so. I've been seeing like something maxing. Looks maxing. Yeah. I I yeah, I'm pretty sure actually that's exactly what I saw the other day. Looks maxing. I'm I'm not on TikTok, but I'm on Rails. I'll see it in a few days. Martha's my emergency contact. Yeah. She's just responsible. You can trust her. Like she's just the mom of the group. She is. Also, say the say we were all getting together to host the dinner. Like, say we just like had thoughts of hosting the dinner. I feel like she would raise her hand first before anyone else did. So she can have it at her house. Because number one, that's her love language. And number two, or I don't know if it's her love language, but I feel like I don't know her like that if we're being honest. Like acts of service, I feel like is like her thing. But it's like I feel like she would be internally screaming possibly if someone else offered to host. Yeah. And not us, just like slandering Martha. Yeah. No, I think it's a good thing. If I'm sick, Martha's dropping off her homemade chicken noodle soup and Vicks to my porch. We need to be, I need to get some characteristics of Martha in my life. I think like what I was saying before about like the resentment. I said she can get overwhelmed and harbor resentment behind the scenes. And she is the sweet but blunt friend. Like just how she like called out her sister. Like I feel like she can be blunt and like put in a nice way. You know. Okay. Alright. So Martha, you're invited. You made it. You can bring your little sister, I guess. The next person I have is my girl Esther. Yeah, of course. I love my queen. Yeah. Queen. I said she's the it girl. Yeah. Without even trying. Exactly. Effortless it girl. Lookenuinely the it girl. Yeah. I wish I was like Esther. Yeah. Esther's a girl that I want to be like because she doesn't even try. No. And everyone's got it like that. Like I feel like she's magnetic and she eludes. Is that a word? Eludes, I think, is what I meant to say. She is eluding. She eludes just. How do I what am I trying to say? Like people want to be around her. Kindness and love. No, but I said like if Esther's not there, it's like kind of not as fun. Like I kind like I really don't know. But I feel like Esther is a little bit more chill. Like she's not like life of the party. No, no, no. She's a quiet confidence. Exactly. I'm not saying she's clowning around clown town central up on tables dancing. You're saying Jezebel. No. This is she's just that girl that you always want to be with. Yeah. Like she is like confident but quiet luxury. Clean girl. Clean girl. Clean girl maxing. If we went out to a restaurant and we couldn't get if Martha like couldn't get reservations, for example, I feel like Esther could like walk up and be like, oh, are you sure you don't have any more tables? For you, Queen, for sure. I feel like Esther's securing a table. Yeah. I just, I don't know. I really like Esther. Also, she has a game plan. I feel like she's very like methodical in her thinking. True. She's smart. Very smart. And she sits back like until the right time. Like, so say a friend is like say we're out at the club. I'm just kidding. Say I've never been to a club in my life. So say we were out somewhere and there's just I don't know. I'm trying to think of an example on the fly, but like, say there's like a guy or something who's bothering one of Esther's friends. I feel like Esther would come in gracefully and help us out of that predicament and like whisk us away. And like she'd have like this game plan of what she's gonna say and how she was gonna do it at the right time. So it looks natural and doesn't hurt his feelings. Does that make sense? Yeah. Very specific, but yeah, I I don't know. I just made that up, but she is a really good secret keeper. She'll keep your secrets and you can trust her with your life. Oh, and kind of touching back, I feel like Esther uses her like natural. Charm and wit to protect like her friends and the people in her circle. Yeah. She makes everybody feel important and included, which is important when you're the it girl. Okay? Yes. We don't like it girls who make other girls feel bad. Anyway. Anywho. Who do you have next? Um, this might be controversial, but I want to talk to Eve. Ooh. That is kind of controversial. I'd be like, I got a bone to pick with you. Eve, come over here. Sit down with me. Go ahead and log out for me on earth. What's the deal? What's your problem? Okay. No, I think Eve has a good heart at the end of the day. And she just she's the problem child a little bit. And people don't want to hang out with her because of what she did. She's the weird girl. Yeah. She's the weird girl that ruined the world. Destroyed the world. No. But I just want to hear her out. Yeah. I think she's a chill girl. Maybe. I think she just means well, but she makes mistakes out of her curiosity. Yes. And like she's not the type that you can that will take your advice. She has to do it to learn her lesson. But I don't know if she even learned her lesson, but I'm sure she did. I'm just curious. She had that first baby. True. Yeah. I would just like to talk to her and ask her kindly to just maybe don't take the fruit. Hey girl. Please don't eat that. This would be a lot easier for everyone if you just put the fruit down back away slowly. But you know what? It all happened. Because it was meant to happen. Yeah. Uh yeah, I would just be curious. I would like to sit down and talk with her. My next one is Vashti, like Queen Vashti from Esther. I feel like she's not afraid to set boundaries. She's gonna be the one that sets the boundaries, tells it like it is, calls people out. And it's okay to say no. It's like just like the king, he asked her. He asked her. I don't even know what it was to like basically go strut around in front of like all of these men. And she said no. And some notes that I wrote. She's the friend that brings me back down to earth, lets me know that it's okay to say no. Calls things out. She's big on mental health. She would be the friend to like plan a retreat for a rejuvenating weekend. Exactly. Like we're prioritizing self-worth with her. She is big on setting those boundaries. She keeps her phone on Do Not Disturb at all times. She's like I said, setting those boundaries. If I if I had a boyfriend, she would help me send him a breakup text. If I had a break a boyfriend that I wanted to break up with, that is. Who do you have next? Of course, my girl Ruth. She is a doll. She she's just the trustworthy friend. She is loyal. She's kind. I feel like she'd be my best friend personally. Yes. Like it'd be like me and Ruth chilling. That's exactly what I thought. Like, she's getting there early to help you set. Like if you were hosting a dinner party, she's getting there early. She's also stu texting you, stopping. Hey, or asking if she can stop. Hey girl, I'm on my way. I know I'm early, but I was just gonna come help you. Is there anything you need to stop by Walmart and get you? Did you want that jewelry that you're talking about? She wants them them huggy earrings. Yeah. Yeah, she would stop, pick up those Kaiser rolls, and then she would stay after to help me clean up. 1000%. Yeah. Sure. She's my ride or die. It's me and Ruth out there. No, she's a good supporter. She's who I would call if I needed someone to like drop or pick me up from the airport. And she would do it. No, for sure. 1000%. I've said 1000%, like now four times. But she also helps me see the bright side of things. Like I feel like she's kind of gone through some hard things, but she's kind of just like chugged along, quiet confidence, very loyal as she was to Naomi. And she's just someone that you want in your corner. Like she's just level-headed. And she's been through a lot. So it's like she has a lot of wisdom, also. Yeah, I feel like you know how you want to like debrief after a good get together and just like talk about everything that happened, whatever. She's who I would want to do that debrief with. I would want her to stay the night after the girls' night. If she would be so kind. Ask her about if you could spend the night. Next, I have, of course, Hannah. I feel like I'm obsessed with Hannah. I talk about her so I feel like you and Hannah would be on the couch in the corner, like that's exactly what I wrote down. You'd be like in a separate, like literally, I said, Oh my gosh, hold on. That's so funny. She's the guest at the dinner party who creates a safe space for all the guests. Like, she's like asking people, like, okay, so what do you do? She asks like cool questions. Yes, like very deep questions. It's like she genuinely cares. And I said, You'll find her in a quiet corner, deep in genuine conversations. That's so funny. Like, I just feel like she's the girl who's who's real. Like, she has gone through the waiting, the hard like times when you just feel distant from God and you feel like you're not getting like what you've prayed for. I feel like, and she could one be the best to like give advice, and she just genuinely cares about everyone's own like walk, and she wants to ask those questions, yeah, get to know you. She's the one who like I'm trying to think of like an example in my life, but like I feel like I know a Hannah and I just can't put my finger on it. Like she makes eye contact with you whenever she talks. And like you can tell that she is so into what you're saying. She does take a little bit to respond. I feel like if you text her, because she's probably like praying for somebody or like in prayer time or something, like she takes a little bit to respond, but she's loyal. I said that she's also the friend that keeps me anchored. Speaking of praying for you, I said when you ask Hannah to pray for you, she actually will. Yeah. So write it in her book and like go in her prayer closet and pray for you. Yes, like you know that you are being prayed for hard with Hannah. Like she's going to the trenches for you. She's like, I feel like that's who she is. Like, she wants to like do the hard things like with you. She's a friend I can lean on when I'm at my lowest because she's obviously been there and she gets it. Um and she just like sit with you on that. And she's reliable. Just like she gave up Samuel because she said she will, and she was blessed with him, and she gave him up. Next on the guest list, I would like to see Mary Magdalene there. Ooh, I had her and I took her off. Why? Because she was possessed for a few years. She'd have some stories to tell for sure. Yeah. And like she's a little goth. Yeah, a little bit. But she's like coming out of it. Yeah. Oh my goodness. No, I want to hear about like the dark stuff that she was in. Because, like, I don't know anybody who's been possessed in like what that's like, seeing that side of things. Yeah. From that to being like redeeming with Jesus. Literally walking with Jesus. I feel like she's the girl that also like knows the T. Yeah. Like, what was she? Like the first person to what is it? See the tomb? Like empty tomb. See the empty tomb. Okay. I think so. But I feel like she just like knows the T. And she was like very close with Jesus. Imagine being my best friend. You kind of can't say just anything around her. Yeah. So she'll go off on you. And like. Why? Because she has been on the other end of things and now she's like redeemed. Yeah. So she doesn't even want to mess around. Like. Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like you like make a joke about something. Yes. Do not. Yes. I see that. It's like you say a joke. She's like, we do not use those types of words here. Oh my gosh. I died laughing. Yeah. Do not say that. You are living. You are, yeah. Because of the blood of Jesus, you're living. Yeah. I see that. Like she's a sweetheart, but like she does have a pastor. She's got a little bit of zip. Yeah. She's got a little kick to her. Yeah. But a sweetheart nonetheless. I don't have any more. My invites are closed. Well, I don't know if it would be like necessarily for a girl's night, but Jesus, Jesus' mom, Mary. Honorable mention. I would be, she's someone that I'll probably like go to her house and talk to her on her couch. And let her like make you treats. Yes. Ugh. She would take care of me and she'd tell me about growing up with Jesus and like how he was as a kid. And like how I That's actually something, you know those questions that you see on social media? Like if you could have dinner with like one person from the past. I feel like maybe that would be mine. Yeah. Like Jesus obviously would be cool. Yeah. But Jesus' mom, where you can like ask yourself about when he was a baby. Yeah, like I want to see like the human things. Like I want to hear those stories. Like, was he crying and a little bit annoying? Like whenever he was two. I wonder if Jesus was annoying as a toddler. Like that's actually something I hardly think about. Whoa, I said thinked. I think that's wrong. We got it. We're not beating the dumb allegations from last week. We got dumb allegations? I don't know. We didn't get any allegations. Anyways. Um what was I saying? Something you think about. Oh. I never really thought. That's it. I never really thought about like well I have, but not in like super detail because it would just make my head swirl. But like Jesus at two. Jesus at three. Jesus as a Jesus at 14. Jesus at 17. Like he went through puberty and his voice changed. Like that is so adorable. What? That's so cute. Oh my goodness. He was probably such a respectful teenager. He was. I know he was. Well he like what age was he? It's gonna take too long to look up. But I feel I feel like he was a very respectable teenage. We're just this is all made up about the city. I feel like he had to be just a sweet, sweet kid. And then like maybe as like a toddler and stuff, maybe he was a little ornery at times. Do you think? Or do you think like because he was fully visible? I think he was probably a little bit ornery at times. He's so cute. Aw, that is so cute to think about. Baby Jesus. Yeah. Anyways. Well, I think she'd be an interesting one. Well, that is the roundup. That's our friends from the Bible. Girly pops, come to our house. You know, one day when I get to heaven, maybe I'll be able to like bring this all up to them. Dang, that's kind of cool. We could have this girl's day one day. That's gonna make my stomach hurt bad. Yeah, that just gave me a little bit of sorry. I can't talk about that. No, but like we we could. Yeah. Like, hey, queens, do you guys wanna hang out? It'd be fun. Yeah, I'll host at my house unless Martha says I'll host at my mansion in there up in heaven. I can't wait to create that. Well, it's already made, but you heard it here.
