What do you do when you are juggling everything and one too many balls gets thrown into your hands?
In this episode, I am sharing the most honest update I have given yet. A major career shift, a fundamental pivot in how I talk about my business, a meditation that stopped me in my tracks, and the decision that made me want to cry but I know is the right one.
In this episode:
- why I am flipping my entire business on its head and leading with design instead of inner work
- the juggling metaphor that perfectly captures my last month
- a meditation vision that showed me I am already her
- why the podcast is one of the balls I am choosing to leave on the ground for now
- what is next for Best Her Yet and where I will be showing up
This is the messy middle in real time. No polish, no perfect answers, just me figuring it out out loud.
As a thank you to everyone who has shown up, cheered me on, and helped shape this business, I am offering 50% off any service to podcast listeners. This offer ends August 15th, 2026. Reach out on Instagram, email, or text if you have my number to claim it.
This is not goodbye. It is a see you later.

Welcome to the Best Hair Yet Podcast. I'm your host, Lindsay. This is a space for women navigating change, growth, and next chapters and learning how to fall in love with what's next. Here we explore real tools that support becoming, from internal healing practices to the external supports that shape everyday life, like nourishment, finances, and the spaces we live in. You'll hear from me and from women who've walked through their own transitions and are now living on the other side of them. I'm so glad you're here. Let's begin. Hello and welcome back to the Best Her Yet podcast. It has been a hot minute, I know. This episode is going to be more of life and business updates, I think, more than anything else. If you've been following me along on social media, you'll know that a lot has happened in the last couple weeks with my life. Last week was my last week at my corporate job, and at the moment I'm just trying to go all in with best hair yet and make this my full-time gig. I have a pretty short runway to do so. I have about a month before I need to switch gears and just because of my financial responsibilities, go back to start applying for more of a corporate job again, but I wanted to give myself at least a month to really go all in, really try my best to make this a viable business to support me and my family. With that, I have been doing a lot of soul searching on what this business is. I have intentionally been very open. I think that's been a big part of why I wanted to start this podcast was to kind of show the messy middle, the messy beginning even, of starting a business. I definitely had the nuggets and foundation of what I wanted my business to be, but I didn't fully see the identity of my business clearly as I was starting out. And I've tried a few different things, I've tried a few different angles, and my business is built on the concept of the internal work expressed externally. And this is a newer concept that I'm not seeing be done anywhere else. So I am trying to make up as I go, how do I talk about this in a way that people get it, in a way that people understand and they're like, ah, yes, this makes sense. And over the past few months, as I was starting to get more clear on the offers for my business, I naturally started to go down the route of talking about the internal with this external layer to it. So really being a space to do that internal work. And then essentially the external is almost like an add-on, or like you get a peak of it in some of my offers, but the true expression of that work would be a separate offer that would happen afterwards. And one day I was really just sitting with that and thinking, I love this work, and my heart is in design. I am first and foremost a designer, and I'm not showcasing that like almost at all in what I talk about, in the visuals that I show on social media, my website, all of those things. And it just hit me that I essentially need to flip how I'm talking about my business on its head, where I lean with the external with this additional layer of the internal. And that has meant making a fundamental shift in my business, that it is very design forward rather than inner work forward. And with that, I've had to look at all of my offerings through this lens and really force myself to question what makes sense, what doesn't, in what I'm offering and my marketing approach and all of that. And as I was going through this process, I was talking to some friends and family about it, and I just kept describing it as like, I feel like I'm juggling, and just more and more balls keep getting thrown into my hands, and I'm juggling and juggling and figuring it out. And finally, just one too many balls got thrown into my hands and it all just collapsed. That is kind of the summary of how my past month has gone. And I'm standing there looking at all these balls that dropped and trying to figure out which ones do I pick up and which ones do I leave. And it's funny, just for fun, I got a tarot card reading for the year of 2026, and the way she does it, she breaks it up month by month. And in the month of June, she said there's something that's going to be heart-led that you really enjoy, but it's just a strategic move to drop that from your business. And when I heard that originally, I had a gut feeling that I knew what it was going to be, but I didn't want it to be so because it is heart-led. I do genuinely enjoy it. And because of the circumstances of what is happening career-wise for me right now, I need to be more strategic about the decisions I make. And the podcast seems to be the thing that makes the most sense for me to drop. I feel like I want to cry saying that. And essentially they walked up to each other and said, It's time. It's time for me to hand off the baton. I literally saw like almost like my soul from this current version of me step into the body of this quote unquote future version of me that was represented by this other kind of figure of myself in front of me. And I just stood there inside this body of this new version of me and watched the current or past version of me just walk backwards and say, You're ready. It's time. I don't know fully what that means yet, what that looks like, and it's scary as hell, I'm not gonna lie, but all I know is I am her. I am her, I am now this next version of myself that I have been working towards for the last year or so. I don't know what this is going to look like. All I know is right now, in this moment, I am making a choice to give my all to this business to show up in spaces that I've been afraid to go to before, things like networking events and things like that, and really claim this philosophy that I have been embodying through this business. I am so grateful to everyone who has tuned in and all of the texts and Instagram DMs and everything, all the feedback that I have gotten from you all. I am so grateful. The people listening to this podcast are really the instrumental people who have helped me grow and shape this business. And to show my gratitude, it brings me so much joy to offer 50% off to everyone who is listening to any service that I offer to show gratitude for how you showed up, how you cheered me on, how you helped shape what this business is today. So if you're listening and you're interested, please reach out on Instagram, email, text if you have my number, and we can take it from there. If you want to continue following along, Instagram right now is where I'm going to primarily be showing up. And with this evolution of my business, I have decided me being more vulnerable, open, authentic, confident in the message that I'm sharing, I want to bring that to a much more visible space. And Instagram feels like the right place for me to bring that right now. So some of these more kind of vulnerable insights that I've been sharing on the podcast, I still want to share those with others, but I am challenging myself to bring them to a broader audience and will be doing so on Instagram. So I hope to see you there. And again, thank you everyone for all of your love and support. I appreciate all of you.
