A temperate deciduous forest is a habitat with four distinct seasons and many trees that lose their leaves in the fall. In their podcast, students shared what they learned about this forest environment and the specific animals they researched, explaining how those animals survive through different types of weather.
Hello, welcome to the Maple Cat Chat. Today we are here with some first graders to talk about the rainforest.
SPEAKER_01We are so glad you are here.
SPEAKER_00Every habitat is special. Let's get the habitat scoop to find out why this home is just right for the plants and animals who lived here.
SPEAKER_01It rains all year. It has lots of trees in the rainforest. In the rainforest, there's a lot of bushes. The rainforest is warm all the time. There are two cans in the rainforest.
SPEAKER_00Great job, team. It sounds like the rainforest is just right for the plants and animals that live there. It has food, water, and plenty of shelter. This just in, we have some amazing animals to tell you about. Squeak, roar, and splash. Here come the facts.
SPEAKER_01A jaguar is the top predator in the rainforest. Scrum monkeys stay in trees from us at the time. Chickens throw their food and they eat it. The Bob and Stickle can eat stuff that is bigger than the mouse. Jaguars are the third largest cats in the world.
SPEAKER_00Wow, those are some amazing animals. Before we go, let's remember the three things animals need to survive in their habitats.
SPEAKER_01Food, water, and shelter.
SPEAKER_00Would you like to live in the rainforest?
SPEAKER_01Yes. Thanks for joining us for the Maple Catholics.
