Welcome back to Ashes to Beauty, Beauty to Ashes, Alba Father. Today we talk about love. What is love? What is our view take on love? And what does the Bible say that love is? Now, initially, when I was preparing for this particular episode and I began to reflect on what I thought love love was, I couldn't do anything but kind of shake my head. There were moments where I laughed. There were moments when I felt sad. There were moments when I felt disappointed. Not necessarily at a particular situation, but just the way that I re that the way that I viewed love, what I thought was love. And I think that this particular topic is so important because I am sure that there are others who viewed love the exact same way that I did. And what I had to learn is love without Christ is not love. And I say that because we can think that we love something or someone or we are in love, but it can actually be the opposite of that, which is lust. And so the way that I um initially viewed love was having a companion. I viewed love as being able to freely express yourself. I viewed love as being caring and supportive and loyal to people and also expecting for those exact same things to be reciprocated. And it wasn't until not too long ago that I realized that I did not know exactly what love was. I thought I knew, but it wasn't until I came into a relationship with Jesus Christ. It wasn't until I began to fellowship with the Lord and fellowship with the Holy Spirit that I realized that what I thought was love was actually lust. I realized that anything that is the opposite of what God's word says does not come from God. And it's not anything that we need to complicate because God's word does not contradict itself. Okay. And so anything that is the opposite of what God's word states does not come from God. And so when I begin to look into God's word and look at what is love, the Bible describes love in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verses four through eight. And I love it because the Bible describes love as being patient and kind, rejoices with the truth, always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. And it's funny because what I called love and what I experienced was the complete opposite of this. I experience the opposite of what God outlines as love, but yet I called it love. So not only does it tell me what love is, it outlines what love is not. Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil. Love does not delight in evil. And it amazes me how I got what real love is supposed to be entangled with the complete opposite. I love that God's love does not operate off of conditions. Or I love you because if you do this, I love you. No, God's love is unconditional, it's extended, it never fails. Never. Then I realized I had never experienced love. Although the stone was rejected, although the cornerstone although the although the stone was rejected, it became the cornerstone. And that's Psalm 118 verses 22. And I want to make sure that I I read that. And so I'm going to I'm gonna read it again. Because you never want to misquote God's word, but Psalm 118 and 22 says the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone, the chief cornerstone known as Jesus. And the beauty of it all is that his love endures forever. I am so thankful that God's love is unconditional. I am so thankful that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. I am so thankful that his love is eternal. It's forever. His love does not waver, his love does not change. His love is our strength. I'm so thankful. So so thankful that he goes before me. He makes all crooked paths straight. I'm so thankful for salvation. So so so so thankful. Psalm 118 and 17 says, I will not die, but live and proclaim what the Lord has done. So I am thankful that God is so, so good. And I am thankful that his love endures forever. That his love is faithful and true, that his love is patient and kind. That his love protects. I am so thankful that I now understand what love is. Thank you, Alba Father. Amen.
