Hello, I'm Kid Freedom. Kid for Freedom is a podcast for kids about what's happening in America now. I explain it in the right way for kids to understand. Hey everybody, welcome back to Kid for Freedom. Today we're talking about some of the biggest stories happening in America this week. We'll cover politics, world news, UFO stories, the economy, science and technology, and some fun history too. Let's jump in. Segment one. What's happening in US politics? One of the biggest topics this week has been President Donald Trump and rising tensions in the Middle East. The United States has been watching conflicts involving Iran very closely. Government leaders are worried about safety in the region, oil shipping routes, and possible military conflicts. President Trump said the US wants peace, but also warned that America is prepared to protect its allies and military forces if needed. Meanwhile, lawmakers in Congress continue debating immigration, border security, taxes, and government spending. Another big political topic is the upcoming 2026 midterms election. Both Republicans and Democrats are already preparing campaigns to try to win more seats in Congress. Segment two Security Concerns in Washington. This week there were also increased security concerns in Washington, DC. Authorities responded to a dangerous incident near a high security government area connected to events involving national leaders. Security teams reacted quickly, and officials said they were working to keep everyone safe. Whenever events like this happened, law enforcement agencies like the Secret Service, FBI, and local police work together to investigate what happened and prevent future threats. Segment 3. The UFOs stories everyone is talking about. Now let's get to one of the most talked about stories online right now. UFOs and aliens. Recently the government released more information about what they now call UAPs. That stands for unidentified anomalous phenomena. Basically things seen in the sky that people cannot immediately explain. Some reports came from Navy pilots, radar systems, military cameras, and trained observers. Pilots described glowing lights, strange movements, and objects moving in unusual ways. The Pentagon says there is no confirmed proof of aliens visiting Earth. But they also admit that some sightings remain unexplained. That's why people are fascinated. The government wants to know are these drones secret technology, camera problems, weather events, or something else? And online, people are going crazy with theories. Some people believe aliens are real. Others think it's military technology, and many scientists say we need more evidence. That's a smart way to think about it. Segment four Why People Love Space Humans have always worried, are we alone in this universe? Scientists say space is unbelievably gigantic. There are billions of stars, billions of planets, and huge galaxies far beyond our solar system. NASA continues searching for signs of life in space. Some planets discovered by astronomers may even have water, atmospheres, or temperature that could support life. But right now, there is still no confirmed evidence that aliens have ever visited Earth. Still, the mystery keeps people interested. People who helped make alien stories super popular too. Some famous sci-fi movies include ET The Extraterrestrial, Men in Black, Star Wars and Independence Day. Segment five The Economy Another major topic this week has been the economy. People are watching gas prices, grocery prices, inflation, and interest rates. Inflation means prices for everything rise over time. When inflation is high, food costs more, gas costs more, and families sometimes have to budget carefully. Experts are also watching how world events could affect oil prices and shipping. Technology is another huge topic. Artificial intelligence, also called AI, keeps growing fast. Companies are racing to build smarter computers and tools. Some people are excited about AI helping medicine, education, and science. Others worry about job changing privacy and missing fortune online. Government leaders are debating how AI should be regulated safely. Segment three, Memorial Day. And here's NewsKid. I don't think you'll be hearing from him next week. I'm gonna fire him. Segment six, Memorial Day. I'm pretty sure you already said that, but I don't care. Maybe I'm gonna fire him instead. The weekend of America celebrates Memorial Day. Oh, sorry. Memorial Day honors American soldiers who died serving this country. Many families visit cemeteries, memorials, or parades. People often place flags and flowers on graves to show respect. The holiday also remains reminds Americans about the s sacrifices made during wars throughout US history. Many people also gather with family and friends for cookouts and outdoor events during the long weekend. Man, that guy got so many words wrong. Alright, I'm gonna fire him. Segment seven A Little History. Did you know America is getting close to a big birthday? Next year will mark nearly 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. That document announced that American colonies wanted freedom from Britain. Some important historical figures include George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin. Many cities are already planning celebrations and historical events for the next year. Segment eight Science and Space Facts Before I finish, here are some awesome science facts. Humans landed on the moon during Apollo 11 moon landing. We already know that. Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the moon. More than one million Earths could fit inside the Sun. Saturn could float in water because it's mostly made of gas. Scientists discover new planets outside our solar system all the time. And who knows? Maybe one day humans really will discover life somewhere else in space. I think they're kind of like they're like us. They look the exact same as us. Cause God made us in his p perspective. Or we're his greatest creation. So I'm pretty sure they're like us. Final thoughts. So what did we learn today? America's dealing with important political debates. World tensions continue in the Middle East. UFO stories are getting huge attention online. Scientists still want more evidence about claiming aliens exist. Memorial Day honors brave soldiers who serve the country. The economy and technology continue changing quickly. The world can sometimes feel complicated, but learning about current events helps us better understand what's happening around us. And remember, it's okay to ask questions, stay curious, and think carefully about what you hear online. That's how smart people will learn. Thanks for listening, everybody. If you enjoyed this episode, share it with a friend, talk about it with your family, or use it for learning and discussion. And remember, stay informed, stay curious, and keep exploring the world around you. Remember, you are you. Your parents, teachers, friends, or government can't tell you what to believe in.
