Hello, I'm Kid Freedom. Kid for Freedom is a podcast for kids about what's happening in America now. I explain it in the right way for kids to understand. Welcome back to Kid for Freedom, the show where we break down what's happening in America in a way for kids to understand. We'll talk about the biggest news stories in America, politics from a conservative perspective, the latest sports news, what's going on with the economy, and our Bible verse of the week. Grab your cereal, buckle up in the car, or put your headphones on. Let's get started. Top story America and Iran. One of the biggest stories this week involves the United States and Iran. The US launched military strikes against Iranian targets after attacks involving American forces in the Middle East. Iran responded with attacks of its own, and leaders have been trying to prevent conflict from becoming a much larger war. What conservatives are saying? Many conservatives believe one of the government's most important jobs is protecting Americans and showing strength against countries that threaten US interests. They argue that being strong can discourage enemies from attacking. Others worry about getting involved in another long overseas conflict and want clear goals before military action continues. So the kid version of that is imagine a school playground. If someone keeps pushing your friends around, some people think you have to stand up firmly so the bully can back down. Others say you should be careful not to let a fight get bigger than it needs to. What's happening with the economy? Inflation has been rising again. Inflation means prices go up, groceries, gas, shoes, and video games. Everything costs a little more. Recent reports showed inflation reaching its highest level in several years. Conservative perspective. Many conservatives believe government spending should be controlled carefully because too much spending can contribute to higher prices. They often support lower taxes, smaller government, and encouraging businesses to grow. They argue that when businesses succeed, families benefit. Election season is heating up. Even though the presidential election isn't this year, Americans are already paying attention to politics. Candidates are running for Senate seats, governor positions, house races. And uh these elections help determine who writes laws and influences America's future. Conservative perspective. Many conservatives encourage people to learn the issues, respect others, vote when they're old enough, stay informed instead of simply following social media trends. Supreme Court Watch. The Supreme Court is expected to release several important decisions before summer break. Issues being discussed nationally include the powers of federal government, immigration questions, gun rights, questions involving schools and athletics. Why this matters? Supreme Court decisions can affect America for decades. Conservative perspective. Many conservatives support interpreting the Constitution according to its original meaning and believe judges should avoid creating new laws from the bench. Alright, sports talk. Now it's time for Kid for Freedom Sports Report The Knicks are the champions. After waiting fifty three years, the New York Knicks won the NBA championship. Led by Jalen Bronson, the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs and brought a title back to New York City. Fans celebrated all over the city. Kids take never give up. Some Knicks fans waited their entire lives to see this happen. Persistence Matters. NFL talk. Football season is getting closer, training camps are around the corner and fans everywhere are debating which teams improved, which rookies will shine, and who might make a Super Bowl run. If you're an NFL fan, this is the season of hope. Every team is undefeated right now. Even if your team had a rough year last season, this could be their year. MLB update. Get it? Full swing. Teams are battling through the long season trying to position themselves for playoff races. The Cleveland Guardians picked up a big win recently, while several other contenders continue fighting for the first place. What does it mean to love America? Being patriotic doesn't mean believing America is perfect. It means being thankful for our freedom. Wanting America to improve, respecting the people who serve our country, and appreciating those who came before us. Conservatives often emphasize gratitude towards the Constitution, free speech, religious liberty, family values, and personal responsibility. Family Corner. Here's our challenge this week. Ask your parents or grandparents what was America like when you were my age. You might hear stories about riding bikes until sunset, Saturday morning cartoons, their favorite sports heroes, and how much candy used to cost. Listening to older generations teaches wisdom. Character lesson of the week. Conservatives often talk about personal responsibility. That means owning your mistakes, doing chores even when you don't want to. Studying for tests, keeping promises, showing up on time, character matters, and little habits becoming big habits. Bible Verse of the Week. This week's verse is be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1 9. What it means Sometimes the news can sound scary. Wars, politics, arguments, but God reminds us that we don't have to live in fear. We can be courageous. We can trust Him. And we can choose kindness and wisdom even when the world feels uncertain. Short prayer. Pray with me. Dear God, thank you for our families, our friends, and the freedoms we enjoy. Give wisdom to our leaders. Protect the people serving our country. Help us work hard to tell the truth and teach others' wisdoms with kindness. Help us be brave and trust you no matter what happens around us. In Jesus' name. Amen. Thank you for joining us on Kid for Freedom. Remember, stay informed, enjoy the games, keep learning, and keep your eyes on God. And never forget, you don't have to be old to make a difference. You can be courageous, responsible, and faithful right now. We'll see you next week for more news, sports, and encouragements on Kid for Freedom. Remember, you are you. Your parents, teachers, friends, or government can't tell you what to believe in. Be brave and stand for freedom. New podcasts come out every Sunday. I'm Kid Freedom signing off.
