This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Welcome to Shine. I am your host, Nicole Florence, and today's thankful thought is about my grandson. So, as I've talked about before, and as many of you know, my daughter, her husband, and their son, Camden, with a K have been living with us since they moved to town, and they're trying to find a house, and you know, they're expecting another baby. I'm gonna say this, I hope they don't move too soon because we love having them here, and my grandson is my absolute joy. And he calls me Gaga. And as he's gotten older and his speech has gotten better, he will run up to me and he will put his arms up and he'll say, Gaga, pick me up, gaga, pick me up. And I love and adore it. And we do a lot of music in our house, and it reminded me of that Dave Matthews band song called Every Day. And that song is just about I am here to pick you up. All you need, all you want is love. And there's a beautiful part in the words where it says, What you got, lay it down on me. And I love that he feels that, he sees that, and he wants that from us, right? He runs to me, I'm hoping just for love, for joy, for support. And yes, he sometimes wants something, right? He loves to make banana pudding with me in the mixer, or he may want a cup of water or ice, what have you. But he just loves to be picked up and nurtured and loved and cuddled and hugged. And that song now has new meaning for me when I hear it. And I think about the way that our Savior wants us to be the same with him. He wants us to look at him and say, pick me up, pick me up. All I want is love and peace and joy and to be nurtured in a way that only you can give to me. And when I think about the part of that song that says, What you got, lay it down on me. Y'all, with Easter season, we know that only our Savior who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us has the true ability to do that. To say, whatever your affliction, your burden, your sin, your fear, your anxieties, what you got, lay it down on me. Because he's already done that. It's already done. So as we get prepared for Easter, and if you get to listen to that song, I will put the link in the comments. I pray and I hope that as many of you may have your own children, your grandchildren, people who you love, friends. I mean, I'm gonna include even our dog babies, right? Um, all they want is attention and love. Think about how that makes you feel. And I pray that you are in a relationship with our Savior that you can look to him in the same way. Where you can say every day, pick me up, love. What you got, lay it down on me. Thank you all for continuing to listen and support this podcast. I appreciate you.
