This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Hello and welcome to Shine. I'm your host, Nicole Florence, and poof I've had quite the week, but I am so thankful that I've been able to still sit here with you and try to understand what it is that we need to learn, what we need to focus on when the ones we love are brokenhearted or crushed in spirit, because I know through God there is goodness in everything. And if even some of that goodness is for some of you to hear my voice, to go through some of this with me, which I know many of you have reached out, and I appreciate your thoughts, your prayers, but it is also my hope that I can provide you some strength, some focus, some guidance if you yourself find that you are in a very similar situation with those that you love. So my thankful thought, of course, is to all of you who have been such a oh I don't even know how to describe it, so incredibly um loving, supporting my prayer warriors out there. And somebody asked me, how do you stay so calm? And I'll be honest, um it is sometimes very difficult, but I know that our circumstances are one that we cannot become dysregulated in the chaos around us. I think that is one of the greatest examples that Jesus did show us, that we can't allow the world to be so chaotic and unforgiven and unkind or not sympathetic, that it changes who we are through him. So as I thought about how I stayed so kind of calm and peaceful, you know, I always think about the the storm, the boat on the storm, when everyone was going kind of crazy, yeah yeah, that the storm was going to harm them, uh prevent them from getting them to their destination, and and even could have been deadly. But I couldn't imagine being on that boat and looking at our savior, just calmly stop the winds and the water. And so that's where I am looking my eyes to, because I know that he will do that. And so staying in prayer and song has been a huge, um, huge way that I have been able to do that, which I think has also helped the ones that I love. Uh so many of you have sent out songs, and I love, love, love a good song. So I've been adding to my playlist um all these wonderful hymnals, um, songs of praise, songs that will continue to guide my spirit and allow wisdom and discernment throughout this difficult walk in the wilderness with my loved one. You hear the train? Yeah, I've got lots of birds and trains this morning. But I think about um first off Philippians chapter four, where we need to understand that in all times the need to pray. And in Philippians um chapter four, verse six, the Lord is near. Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. And I believe it is that peace which honestly at times I don't understand, which I know many of you have said, I can't even comprehend the level of peace, but that is where I can say, through our Lord and Savior, his peace is with me and with the ones I love. As I was going through the last few days, I will say there has been one particular song that has been on repeat for me, and y'all know it has to be CeC Winens. Um, but I think of the song The Goodness of God, and I literally played this on repeat probably, I don't know, a good 30 minutes at one point this weekend. So I am gonna put the link to this on the show notes if you want to add it to your playlist. I am not gonna sing it, but I wanted to leave you with some of the lyrics. I love you, Lord. Your mercy never fails me. All my days I've been held in your hands. From the moment that I wake up until I lay my head, I will sing of the goodness of God. I love your voice, you have led me through the fire, and in darkest night you are close like no other. I've known you as a father, I've known you as a friend, and I have lived in the goodness of God. And all my life you have been faithful, and all my life you have been so, so good. With every breath that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God. Because your goodness is running after, it is running after me. Your goodness is running after. It's running after me. With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now. I give you everything. I pray that you all find peace and comfort through him, especially if you yourself are in the wilderness or if you are walking with someone you love. Let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine.
