So….it’s the last week of Emma and Meredith talking about Heated Rivalry on ‘Tis the Season. We know, everyone is just so sad. But alas, this week we are discussing Episode 6: The Cottage.

Join us as we discuss all of the insanely cute moments that Shane and Ilya have been dying to have with one another. Listen as we dive into all of the domestic moments from them role-playing with one another, cuddling next to the fire, and swimming in the lake. It is everything we have all been waiting for. But when someone’s dad discovers these two love birds’ secret relationship, what will he do? What happens when Shane comes out to his parents?

It was a really sweet speech, too. And like it also just shows how important it is for young people to have people to role models to look up to and seeing themselves in these role models, especially when it comes to LGBTQ stuff. And just the sports community. Exactly, especially for hockey, because hockey is very conservative, um, unfortunately. And you know, there's a lot of young kids that are playing sports like this or other sports that are still conservative about players being gay. I mean, I remember in high school someone someone had their panties in a twist because there was a football player who was gay.

And that's another good thing about him coming out because not only did it prompt Shane and Ilya to like, but it prompted so many other people. Exactly. And Ilya, oh my god, when you see him in the rearview mirror, oh my god, he looks so good with a backwards hat. I said, Ah! He really said, is yeah, and he's also very nervous because when he gets in the car, if you notice, he he can't buckle his seatbelt. He's like struggling, he does it like four or five times to try and get it in there, and he's just like, Oh, what kind of car is this a Jeep?

And they're just making that small talk. After after they like it closes to the thing where it says he did rivalry, the loon call. I said, Oh, I see. Yeah. We're starting, we're starting early with the loon. The loon. Yes. Um, my shirt from The Rave, it has a loon on it. And my girlfriend, Teresa, was like, Oh, I like your shirt. I like the duck. Uh, first of all, it's a fucking loon. Yeah, get it together. It's not a duck. She did say she would watch it though. So I think I'm gonna watch it with her. I'm kind of scared. She's been saying that for weeks though. I know, but I'm kind of scared. Because she's probably gonna watch it, and I don't know. A hater. I'm a little scared. Maybe she won't be a hater. But going back to the car, it's it's kind of awkward at first because they're both kind of like, is this real? Like, is this actually happening? Yes, and they're just they don't know what to say at first, they're just kind of sitting there, like, but then the way they're just so soft-spoken with each other.

Oh my gosh, the hand holding and Shane being like, Well, I bought enough food so we don't have to really go out, and I thought this and this and this, and Ilya Ilya interrupts him and he's like, Thank you for inviting me. Like he had to get it out. Yeah, like it was just bottled up, he's like, Thank you for inviting me. And after that, it kind of they kind of relaxed a little bit because they start talking about his quote unquote silent retreat, Shane's silent retreat, and Ilya finds that to be the funniest thing ever. It's because it is, it's and it's because it is, except it's believable because it's Shane. Like that's so believable. And I think after that, because they start giggling, that's when they kind of relax.

Because that's what we do on this fucking show. That's all we do is yap. Talk. I love talking. Yeah. Honestly, I love yapping and I love talking. It's my favorite pastime. It's your favorite present time. It is. It really is. So that's because that's what we're doing presently.

I quite literally said they're starving for each other. They are is what I wrote. Exactly. And this next part kind of kills me, like in a funny way. And Shane has the biggest smile, which is so cute because he looked like a little puppy.

And this this is a parallel from the first episode of them like this. Yeah. Because in the hotel room, he's also has his head down and his arm kind of up, but now it's in the daylight because now they can be gay and it out and open with these. No, now they're in Shane's favorite place and just in the daylight. Just shows the big difference. It does. And they're comfortable being out like that because Shane's on his quote unquote silent retreat.

And then this entire time they didn't I I noted this because they didn't show them having sex. Yeah. And you know they obviously did.

And Ilya is asking Shane about his parents because he's interested. He's like, you know, like tell me about your parents. I don't know anything about them. And he's like, mom's got your good looks. Like that's where your good looks from. That's why you're boring. Uh the way the way Shane's like, yeah, half of them. Babes.

He does a little nose thing, which tells me to him it does matter.
