Uh, my name's Emma. My name is Meredith. And this is the season! Um, we are on episode three already of Young Royals, which is crazy. I said last week that I wanted to watch the next one, but I never did because um I forgot to log into your Netflix and also I didn't have your Wi-Fi because they have the Wi-Fi sharing. Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I gave you my whole password and everything. I didn't I didn't think I needed the Wi-Fi, but then I forgot because you were at work a lot, and so I was just like, I'm not gonna bother her right now. So sorry. It's okay. So sorry. I'm glad I'm glad I waited because it was it was eventful. But uh, do you have any news updates for this week? Uh work was rough. Yeah. It was a ro it was a rough week. I'm not gonna get into it, but it was pretty rough. And uh it's okay. Yeah, then getting my voice back. I I lost my voice there a little bit, so sorry if I sound a little rough today. Oh my god. Speaking about voice issues, so I found out my ass has silent reflux, which is acid reflux, but it doesn't have the normal symptoms. It is it is silent, yeah. And uh, because for a while, like I've been having burning in my throat, like around my vocal cords and stuff. Um, and I'm a singer, so obviously I like I'm freaking out. I'm like, oh my god, I have nodes. Um, I don't have nodes, so I just started medication for that. Hopefully, it says it takes one to four days to finally start kicking in. So hopefully that works because this shit is annoying as hell. So I'm gonna have to do vocal rest from singing for the next couple days until it starts kicking in, so I don't do anything further. Um, but I'm glad I like figured out the issue. Yeah, because for a while I was like, oh my god, it's from me snoring. It's not from me snoring. So yeah, hopefully, hopefully it works itself out fine. It feels okay right now. It like I woke up this morning and I could tell it wasn't from my singing because even when I wake up, I can feel the burning in my throat. So I I know it's not from me singing, but I still was like, wow, I have nodes, I'm fucked, I'm gonna have to give up my career, not your whole career. I know, but you're okay. I won't have to do that. Yes. Um, also, I don't think I ever shared the story on here, but it's about heated rivalry. So I was at my parents' house and we were trying to find a movie to watch, and we were on HBO, which that's where heated rivalry is on, yes. And we were browsing through on my mom suggested it was heated rivalry, and I was like, Why is that suggested for you? She goes, Oh, I don't know. She goes, I don't even know what that show is. I was like, oh, okay. And then my dad, he was like, Wait, is that that gay hockey show? And I was like, How the fuck do you know about the gay hockey show? And I was like, Are you serious? He goes, Yeah, I think uh I think my brother texted me about it one night. Mind you, my dad's brother, or I guess my uncle, he's like in his 60s, yeah, straight man, just I whatever. So my my dad was like, Yeah, he texted me about it. And I was like, What? So my dad pulls up this whole text, and it's a whole text of from my uncle to him one night raving about he didn't writing watch the whole thing. Oh my god, he watched he also live, he also lives by himself, like he's just a single straight man in his 60s. I mean, pop off, honestly. No, literally, and I was like, wait, what? And my dad read this text, and my uncle was describing it. He's like, it's such a beautiful story. He's like, it got really steamy at some parts, but he's texting your dad's texting my dad this, yes, and my dad was just like, What? And my uncle's just saying, like, that it got really steamy, but that it was really beautiful and it was really meaningful, and you know, it was just about a relationship between two people, and you know, love is love. And my dad was just like, Alright, man, like cool. But when my dad told me that my uncle watched it, I said, the fuck? I mean, watch what you want, but also what the way no, the fact that he texted my dad about it and my dad showed me it was all huge ass text, like it was long as hell. We didn't even do that to each other or watching the show. No, my uncle just randomly texted him this one night. So they're probably my parents probably won't watch that, but they do know what it is.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

So there is that. Wow. Well, the fact that my dad knew what it was and my mom didn't kill me. Yeah. I feel like it'd be the other way around if anything. I know, because it was suggested on her yeah, HBO account. She's like, oh, I don't know what that is. And she was being like genuine, like she genuinely didn't know what it was. That's crazy. Anyways, I just wanted to share that because I don't think I shared that when we were talking about how you did. I wouldn't I would have remembered that. I would have remember that. Oh my god. Anyways, now we should jump into Young Royals. Let's get into the episode. Episode three. Last episode we finished with them kissing for the first time. We had our first kiss. Um so yeah, walking into this next episode, we're starting off in school. Yeah. And immediately, uh, Simone is playing the piano very badly. Oh in this room. Pretty pretty badly. Like pretty bad. He's just plucking notes. Plucking out notes. And uh he goes to the door and he's like peeking in. The way he's just looking and staring. Like he just wants to encompass the moment of him just being there at the piano and just looking at him. He just like looks like looking at him. He just looks at him. He loves it. He likes soaks it in. Even if he doesn't realize why he feels like that right now, like he just knows he sees him, I'm happy. Exactly. Like, whatever that is, he's like, I don't fucking know, but I just know I'm happy when I see him. I'm miserable right now, but I'm happy when I see him. Exactly. And he goes in and he's like, you know, you're not even playing the right line. Aren't you aren't you a tenor? And he's like, You're playing the Soprano line. Like, what are you doing? And Simone is just like, Oh, uh and then Wilhelm like gauges, he's like, You don't know music. He's like, You don't know how to read music. Yeah, and Smone's like, Well, uh I I'm trying to learn, you know. Yeah, I'm I'm trying to learn. And for me, that's the first moment for them specifically. I mean, we've seen other instances already, but like this is where you can really see the class difference. Yeah. Where it's like someone really loves music and clearly he's really good at singing, and Wilhelm has no desire to do any of that, but he knows music. Yeah. Probably because his parents put him in lessons. Correct. Like, he has no desire for it whatsoever, but knows a bunch about music. Like, they're their families definitely put them in all the sports, all the arts that they possibly can be in. So, and like someone never got that growing up. No. Couldn't afford it, you know, whether it be like lessons or just an instrument or anything in general. Exactly. Can't afford it. How how do you know? But like, he can play by ear. Yeah. So he's which is a talent in its own. He's got musical talent. So in him, he's like, Well, you know, I can play by ear. And so Villam is like, well, let me let me show you, yeah, like how to do it, and then you can listen and you can repeat it. And so he sits next to him on the bench and they're so close, and they're like staring at each other. It's just the glances back and forth, back and forth, as they're playing different notes and playing together. And I'm like, oh my god. And the again, it's just you can see it all in the eyes. It's all in the eyes. They barely say anything. I know. Or in episode three, and barely they've said uh they've said nothing to each other barely, up up the couple sentences. Right. Like they they know that they're drawn to each other. Yes. And again, they haven't really had any like long conversations with one another. Um, I think like one of the longest ones was probably in the first episode when they he was hiding at the party. Will was hiding at the party, yeah, and Simone was there and they were talking. I think that's like the longest conversation they've had. And that wasn't even a couple sentences back and forth. So hasn't been a lot. So the fact that they have this much like chemistry with each other is so like surreal. No, it's so like I can feel it through the screen. Like I can feel it right now, and I'm not even watching it. I'm just thinking, I'm just thinking about it. Oh yeah. And then someone has to bring up Friday, which of course you need to, obviously. Yeah, they need to talk about it. They need to talk about it. Um, it was something that was new for one person. You know? Um it was just so awkward. It wasn't uh Will was just like that's let's just not like that, let's just forget about it. Yeah, like I I just I just want to be friends. And you could just tell, like, Simone was just over it. He's like Which he's just probably had this happen to him so many times before. Probably, yeah. But yeah, Simone's probably just had this happen to him so many other times before. And he's just like over it. He's just like so fast. He's like, okay, cool, you're the prince, you're still treating me the same, but bye, you know? Like he I feel like he's not surprised. He's just like, Alright, yeah, I'm gonna head out. Yeah, he's like, Alright, well, I gotta go to class. So and like the connection between them is instantly like cut off wall because someone puts up that wall, he's like, Alright, well, it was good while it lasted. Yeah. And he's just like, I'm I'm I'm about to head out. Yeah. So so that's over. Um show's done. Bye-bye. Um, but yeah, so it's just the fact that he's like, I still want to be friends, he still wants to be near him, but it's like no. He can't he doesn't I I don't know if it's that he doesn't want to recognize what is happening, or if he's just unfamiliar and he's uneasy about it, but he's I think it strictly just has to do with the fact that he knows he's in like a royal family and he just can't be unfortunate. That's gonna that was gonna be my third. Like I think that's strictly just his reasoning. Cause I feel like he really just knows, like, yeah, I think I'm attracted to this person, but I just can't. Yeah. Like whether it has to do with himself or family or whatever reasons, I think it's just him being like, Oh, I know this, and I want to still be around him, I just can't be like, well, because he's always in the public eye. Exactly. Like ever there's always eyes on him. So always can't be. Whether even if it was a girl, he would have the same situation be able to. Exactly. Like it's like, hey, you can't date her. Because you can't you can't be with that person because you're in this family. So if they're not within good background, has money, blah blah blah. You know, like if it still wouldn't be good. If it was someone of high status, I think that would be more acceptable. Which is why Fois is always thrown in there. Which is why they want them together, because they're very from a very rich background, uh-huh. Family names, all that kind of stuff. Exactly. So that's like the only person you could throw out there that they'd be like, okay, yes, pictures, pictures. Do you love do you think it would be different if Simone was also from a rich family? Yes, but no. Okay. Like, I still obviously think there would be the struggle of the fact that it's a man and a man. That's true. But I don't think it would have been as I I don't think it would be as bad because they'd be like, oh well, he at least has a has a good name, exactly. Good background, not taboo. Yes. Yeah. So I I do think there would be a difference. I think it would still be hard, but I think it would be better. I think it'd be easier. Well, because even if someone was a girl and like still with that background, yes, it would still be seen as like just dirty, not non-trachy, and yeah, like it like I just put that in there sometimes where I'm like comparison. I'm like, well, it'd still be somewhat of the same. Yeah just because of how their societies are. That's so real. So I just wanted to I just wanted to hear your opinion. Because I was just like, I mean, that's what this whole podcast is. Exactly. I'm just throwing stuff back at my voice is not letting me do anything. I've got to do that either. I need to chill out. But then we get to good old Felice and Sarah. They're uh riding the horse. Felice is clearly still having problems with her horse. Yeah, she's just scared. Like she is scared. Full on scared. Because even the uh guy that his her trainer, yeah. He's like, you're being too tense. He's anxious because you're just so tense and won't relax. Also, because she's anxious about it too, though. She's not giving him direction, yeah, and that's making the horse anxious. Yeah, because the horse needs direction, he's not just gonna jump to do it. Like he doesn't have that direction to do what he's supposed to be doing, and it's not even very high jumps, like it's like very basic training. Yeah, it's like the one-two poles that are very low. Yeah, so I mean, I get it, because I I like horses, I love horses actually, I think they're so cool. Um but they're also like big, like they're kind of scary at the same time. You know what I'm saying? I mean, yeah. Like they're they're so beautiful. I love horses, and I I mean I've ridden quite a few, and it was I thought it was really fun. But like as long as you like just give control, they're gonna- You just have to know what you're doing. Exactly. Like, you just have to be very we're doing this, this, this, and this. Like, you have to lay it out for the horse. Because if you don't know, they don't know. Exactly. So, and they can't read your mind. I mean, they're an air. They're they're a horse. It's a horse. It's a horse. You're not ri Okay, never mind. I'm gonna say it. What are you gonna say? I was gonna say you're not writing a person. Okay, wow. Wow. Alright, we need a we need a quarter, a quarter in the pervert jar or something. Oh my god, I should. You and Teresa, bro. Bro, it just popped into my head. Actually, it's mostly Teresa. She's it's mostly Teresa. Okay, anyway, so we're we're in we're in the stable, and Felice gets off the horse. And she said I was talking about this parent day that's gonna be happening. Yeah, with Sarah. And she's like, Oh, like your parents coming or whatever, and Sarah's like, Well, not my dad, you know? Like, my mom is coming, but not my dad. And Felice is like, well, why not your dad? Yeah, like why don't you have contact with him? And Sarah's just like, Well He's just a bad person. He's a bad person. Like, honestly, I was so shocked at the moment that she didn't just fall and tell him everything or tell her everything.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because I feel like she does that a lot. She does. She just blabs, like she just blurts it out. Yes, like she has no filter. Yes, and in that moment she really holds back, which says a lot. It does, because she's like, oh she he's just not a good person. Like he he hurts people around him. Like that's all that's all she went into. And then we get a moment of oh, what's the word I'm looking for? Not intimacy, but vulnerability, because then Felice says something about her dad. Yes, she's like, Well, you know, I my dad only cares about me if I get good grades, yeah. And I was like, Oh, damn. Yep. And you're just like, okay, so you might have a father, but he kind of sucks. Like that one. Like, but I I think that's a really nice moment because she's starting to open up more to Sarah. And you can kind of see that even in the past like two episodes, like she's really mean to her. Then she's like saying thank you, then she's like doing this, trying to make conversation again, trying to make conversations. Right, and she initiated this conversation. So you could tell that she's trying. She's trying, yeah, to and Felice is one of those Felice is one of those characters, which we can talk about it a little bit later. Yes. But I feel like Felice and August are very much in the same like wavelength of things. Yeah, I I agree. Like very close, very similar. Different situations are happening, but it's the same type of thing that's going on. Yeah. And they're both these very just like gray characters. Yeah. Yes. And so part of it is just how they were raised. Right. Like, I mean, obviously, Felice is trying now to see Sarah as an equal, but they're raised to think that they're superior because they have all the money. Yep. So I think it speaks volumes that Felice is trying to get herself out of this little hole that's been dug for her. You know, well, and Sarah is a really genuine person. Yeah. And I feel like a lot of these people at the school are not very genuine. Like they're all they're all about the party, they're all about the money, they're all about like surface level stuff. Yes. But Sarah is different. And I think Felice likes that because she can actually trust her. Yeah. So no, I I agree with that for sure. Yeah. Um we then get to the lacqueroon. Yes. Yeah. The lacqueroon. I mean, nothing really crazy happens in life. No, he just stares. Like, oh my god. Literally. Volum is staring so hard. Like, it's just so bad. Like, he's just like, I just want you. It is literally the most intense, like, I want you right now stare. Yeah. Because they're both shirtless, sweaty, yeah. You know, taking showers. Like, okay. Like it, like, it is just such a hard, like piercing stare. Yeah. Right at Simone. I'm just like, oh my god. And it's not even he doesn't even hide it. He's just like out in the open. Yeah, it's not very it's not like he's looking down and then looks up, looks up like that. He's just kind of like staring. Like it is full-on staring. Like if you were to walk in, you would immediately see that he's staring right at Simone. Like it is not secret. And even Simone's just sitting there, like, Simone's just like, whoa, whoa, whoa. And he kind of looks away and he's like, whoa, like. Yeah, and he's the one that's like looking down, like looking away, and then looking back. He's like, Are you what are you doing? Yeah. Like out in the open like that. Ugh. But you could just tell, like, Wilhelm just wants to talk to him so bad. He just wants to be around him and talk to him. Interaction. Like, but like Simone just keeps disregarding him, walking away, not wanting to say hi to him. Yeah. And everything. And the fact that like Wilhelm is like, yeah, just always looking at him, tossing and turning, cannot sleep, scrolling. Scrolling his social media. To see what he's up to. Like he's he's down bad. So bad. So down bad. I I know when the first when the series first came out and it was like a huge discussion, and people are like, oh well, like who fell first? You know, who likes so-and-so like more, blah blah blah. Everybody always said Simone, and I said no. Oh. I think it's Willem. Oh, 1000%. But everybody always says it was like Simon. And I'm like, no, I disagree with that. And and and the discussion came in too of you know, like they talk about who fell first and then who fell harder. This is where the real discussion came into play. Everybody was like, oh well, yeah, Willem fell first, but Simon fell harder. And I was like, no, no, no. It was Wilhelm that fell first and fell harder. I agree with that. I agree. I agree with that. Every single time. I don't care what anybody says. I think it's also because he feels like he can't have it. Yes. And so it makes it even more desirable. The eagerness and just everything is that much stronger. Yes. Yes. Like it is like so amped up. And that's not to say that Simon doesn't like him. He clearly does. And he would have gone through all this struggle if it wasn't. No, he clearly likes him. Like, don't get me wrong. That's not what I'm saying at all. Okay. It's just like, no, Willana's just down bad. Like so so bad. It's down so bad from the beginning. Like, even when he pulled up to the school and he saw him singing, he said, okay. He said, Oh, look at that little cutie bitch. Exactly. But we get to the after-team workout, like they're working out in the, I guess, the gym or something, and they're packing up, and Willem sees Simone putting stuff away. The way he gets up so fast to try and catch him before he leaves. Because at this point, in in my head, when I'm watching this, Willem's just kind of given up. He's like, I tried being away. I'm literally going crazy. I just hasn't even been that much time. I bet you anything has been one evening. It's probably been like one or two days, maybe. Probably. And he's probably just like, damn, can't do it. Can't do it. Don't do it. He would never survive in heated rivalry. No. If that was eight years, nah. He couldn't even survive eight days. Bro, I'm saying uh crazy. She said, nah. But he catches Simone and he's trying to talk to him. Simone's just like not really responding. No. He's just kind of like doing his own thing. He's just trying to get out of there. And Villem is just like. So this weekend is the parents' weekend. And he starts explaining the entire situation. With the entire situation. Parents. The entire schedule. And someone's just like, thanks for explaining the schedule to me. Literally, one of my favorite lines from him in the entire story. Like, yeah, thanks for explaining that to me. The whole schedule, like, like the greatest part of you. And Volon's like, no, no, no, no. Like that's not what I mean. Yeah. He's trying to get it out, but doesn't know how to say it. He doesn't know how to say it. So he finally is like, so usually after the first night, the parents take all their kids home. So then there's usually no one here. And Son's like, okay. Like get two way. Like get to the point. And Volum is like, so I was thinking that since no one's really here with me. Keep me company. Just us. Oh. But Simone's very cautious. He is. He's like, okay, I'm I like what you're saying, but like But like what what what happened to the forget about it. Yeah. Then he instantly says, I take that back. Like so fast. So fast, I take that back. Like this that oh, no time. I said, Oh. Okay. Like this is this is also what makes me think, in my opinion, that Willem fell first and harder. Because he is like making this making this stuff happen. Because listen, in any other like book or TV show you might read, when they're like, it never happened, it takes episodes. Episodes. Episodes. Pages and pages to get to the point where it's I take it back. This no, instantly. Instantly. Also, and it's not a short show. No. Like it's a long, it's got a decent three seasons. Yeah. So I'm just like the fact that he just like clocked it real fast that okay, yeah. No, I take that back. Actually, I take that back and I I actually do want to hang out with you. You're just like, oh, okay, yeah. And Simone smiled after you said that and he's like, oh, yes. Okay. Because now he's like, oh, okay, okay. So we're we're getting somewhere, we're getting somewhere. Uh-huh. Because they're so cute. They both they both know that they're like interested in each other. That's very clear. And I think that makes them even more giddy. Plus, like, I think the whole like secrecy thing is also making them giddy. Like, eventually that's gonna get old. Yeah. Because you don't want to be kept a secret. But because it's like just starting out, yeah. They're like, oh, you know, we're gonna we're gonna sneak around. Yeah. Because as much as like obviously like someone would like it to be out in public, he even knows, like, this is the prince. Like, like he he knows this is at this moment, he's like, I can't just say anything. Right, like this is royal family. Yes. So can't be can't be doing too much. Yeah, can't be telling everybody. But we get to someone's house, oh gosh, and Sarah and her their mom are in the what is it, the dining room? Yeah, they're like trying to. First off, why are we doing our hair at the at the table? I don't know. Maybe it's just me. I'm just weird with hair in general. Babes, I literally gave you a haircut at our dining room table yesterday. But it wasn't like at the table. It was in a chair. She was in a chair though, at the at the table. Uh-oh. Like, I don't like it when there's hair around food. Oh no. Of course not. We weren't eating. No. That's what I was trying to say. Oh, yeah. I was like, um So I know we just literally did that yesterday. But like the fact that they're sitting there eating cereal, whatever, and she's sitting there like brushing her hair with her hairbrush and doing all this. I'm like, girl, what? Like your hair's probably flying around in the air right now. Yeah, and I'm like, I can't. I just got the biggest ick. I I get really done. I don't like that either. I get what you're saying now. So I was just like, I don't know what. So honestly, when I first ever watched it, I think I was so much more focused on that than I don't know what someone was even doing. I I just don't even remember what happened when I first watched it. Yeah, well, he's just, you know, opening his letter for the first time. And it's the tutoring. The bill. The bill. And it's a little it's a hefty, hefty amount. And we we know from the last couple episodes August owes him money. Still got nothing. Piggy bang dry. Like he literally has got nothing. Nothing to his not a single cent from August. And again, this bill is it's a big bill, and they're not they don't have a lot of money. Yeah. I mean, it's a single mom with two kids at a boarding school. Yeah. Like I'm surprised they're even able to go to boarding school. I bet you they have to have scholarships. Probably. I feel like they would have to have it. Because when they were talking about their other school, they're talking about how they all like straight A students. Yeah. And then Sarah was like, Oh, you gotta work harder here because everything's harder, basically. Basically, unless you have money. Yeah. So I think they did get in probably scholarship-wise. That's true. Because they probably have really good grades and whatnot at their other school. That is that's the same thing. That's my that's my theory. I don't know because they never say. But that's true. But I think I think your theory's right. And that's why they live at home, because it's expensive, obviously. To stay it's like it's like college, right? Stay at home versus a dorm. Right? You're saving like $10,000. No, literally, the dorms are so fucking expensive. Is it worth it? Because you get the life experience, yeah. But like now I'm in debt, so always in debt. Never gone. I will always be in debt, I fear. I fear I will be too. Which is fine. I'm just the way the world is right now, you can't even afford a house. You're telling me I'm gonna pay off all my debt and then afford a house? Okay, I literally Are you kidding me? I am literally am gonna have no money to my name. Tell me how I am basically living paycheck to paycheck, and then I'm paying almost $2k in fucking taxes. Yes. They said I'm gonna have $20 left in my account. I have no money. How is that? How is that no process? What's that cake? Uh it's from Pregnant Prejudice. It's got it's uh I'm 20, I think it's I'm 29 years old. Or no, 20, is it 27? I don't remember. It's like I'm 27 years old, I have no prospects, no money, no whatever. And I'm like, Okay, yeah, I'm not married, I have no prospects, I have no money, I have no whatever. Literally, like, damn, take all my damn money. Yeah, so them arguing about their money, wanting money, valid. I think it's so valid. Um, yeah, so like when when Simone's approaching August and he's just like, bro, I want my money. And and August just keeps blowing him off. Yeah, he's August is trying to prepare for like the parents' day. He has so much other stuff on his mind that like giving money back to this loser in his head literally is the last thing. That's the last thing he's worried about. And not that we're calling Simone a loser, but yes, that's what August thinks of him is. In his head, he's like, Man, loser, I I don't got time for you, bro. Literally, and also he's he has to worry about his tuition not even being paid himself. Yeah, he's got his own problems, but something's going on with his finances. Yes, and so in his mind, he's just like, I'm just gonna blow this guy off, and eventually, you know, he's just gonna leave it back alone. But you know, Simone is broke as hell. He needs his money, yeah. I mean, they're if I if I like it's the same as like loaning somebody money. Like if you came to me and you're like, hey, can I borrow a thousand dollars? I would do it for you, but then I would also expect it back at some point. Yeah, like you know what I mean? Like, it's just like one of those things where it's like, yeah, yeah, I'll give it to you, but like, that's a lot of money. That is, and you know, someone's just like like I I need this money, I have my tutoring bill, you know, I can't let my mom see this. Yeah. And August is just like, you know, you really shouldn't be spending money you don't have. Fuck you, bro. You just you're doing the exact same thing. You're doing the exact same fucking thing, you little hypocrite. Like, let me fuck you. Well, I mean, to be fair, to be fair in August's case, he didn't know. That is true. Because remember in the last episode when she was like, hey, so you have no money like to pay your tuition, he's like, What? He's like, he's like, excuse me. So I will give him that. He he definitely didn't know what's going on, but still, yeah, to say that after he finds that out. No, it's crazy. I'm just like, alright, yeah. Like, you're you're one to talk, Brad. But then everybody just talking about everybody's money, all the parents showing up, they're rich asses, they're so shady, fucking they're so plenty to each other, and not in like a sleigh way, they're just like, Oh, oh, did you hear that? And I'm just like, oh, it's basically like Aren't they the ones that went bankrupt? It's like bam! Like when you go to church. And everybody would always be talking shit. They'd be like, Did you hear about so-and-so? I'm like, isn't it supposed to be church? Yeah, like I'd be like, what the like what is this? It was the same way. I said, Oh, and we finally meet August's mom. Mm-hmm. And her uh plaything. Yeah. Her friends with benefit? Her little boy. Her boy toy. Her boy toy, her boyfriend, whatever the fuck you want to call it. Yeah, and it's really awkward between him and August. And they like shake hands, and August is just like, uh, she's like, Yay, buddy. Yay, you're here. You're welcome to a family that has no money. Woo! Uh-oh. Welcome. Yeah, like nothing. Woo-boo. Um we get to the singing again. Not the anthem, but like the you know they're a gospel. Yeah, the singing in the church. And Wilhelm and Simone are looking at each other as they're singing, and they're just like smiling at each other. They're so giddy. No words are being spoken, not a single thing. There's in the moment, all of a sudden, Sarah Miss Sarah clock in her eyes. She went. She said, Oh, I see this. They're staring at each other. She's always at the scene of the crime. She is. She literally said, Oh. I feel like she doesn't have a choice. She's just there and she's like, God damn it. Like, I feel like the- She's just like, God damn it. Yeah, she's like, Why the fuck am I in this right now? You know, I I agree, but she clocks it so fast. And we after that, we see the parents like mingling around again, and it's just like a I guess like a not a common hour, but they're all just kind of like speaking to each other. Yeah. Like having wine and talking to the headmasters and whatnot. And the headmistress, she's like talking to August's mom, she's like, Hey, I need to I need to speak to you later. Yep. And she's just like, oh, okay. Ah, not thinking anything of it. No. And she's crazy. I also wanted to say, sorry, Felice's mom is so cunty. She is. I just hate her though so much. Did you did you notice what she said to her when she gave her clothes? Yeah! You literally, she could have said, hey, like, she could have worded it any other way. She basically fat shamed her dogs. She's like, so she was like, uh, these are just way too big for me, so here you go. But like these will probably fit you. It'll look really cute. Damn! Just say, hey, I finally like I have these for you. Yes, that's all literally all you had to say. Mind you, she's not even fat. No. She just got big ass boobs. I can relate. I she that's yeah. That whole part made me that made me so angry. I said, just the fact that she's like, oh yeah, here you go. No, and then she sits on the bed. She doesn't even ask how her daughter is, she's like, so how um yeah, how's that going? How's how is he? Is he okay? Um, what about your daughter? Yeah. Like, what How about you just ask about her? How about you ask if she's doing okay? And she's like, so is there anything going on there? And she's like, oh yeah, a little bit. Little bit, you know, like glances and stuff. She's like, oh okay. And her mom's like, oh yeah, I know all about that stuff. Like, okay, bitch. Like, I hated every moment about that entire conversation. Her model pisses me off. Like, they're just so devoid of emotion and they're so detached from their children. Yes. Like, it's sad. And then, like, even like August just being outside grabbing Wilhelm, being like, We're taking pictures together and everything. He's like, Yeah, he's like, pretend to talk to me, say something. And then he does, and then he walks away. No, literally. It's so stupid. I'm like, what? Like, why would we need pictures? Also, August trying to make Simone and Sarah feel bad by being like, oh, well, this is not for like non-reds. Non-reds. This is only for bored, like yeah, people who are boarding here. Like, there's no seats for you, but you know what? I'll be nice today. And I'll make sure you're in the mind you, he saw them there before when he was setting everything up. Like, he just wanted to make them feel bad. Yes. Like he's a little bitch. I'm like, what an asshole, bro. Like, what? Really? And all they had to do was just slide in like a table leaf. That's all they had to do. Because we saw them doing it, and that's all I had to do. It literally took two seconds. Crazy. And he's acting like the biggest favor in the world. Uh-huh. My guy. And then uh we get to Eric and Willem FaceTiming. Yeah, because Willem is like, uh, I don't want to be out there. I don't like ever I don't like all these rich people. Yeah. But this part just breaks my heart because it's like, he's like, uh, I'll see you this weekend and everything. And Willem's like, no, I won't see you. I'm gonna just stay here. Yeah. And everything. And you're just like, damn. Damn. Alright. Cool, brother. No, for real. And he's like, oh, so you found someone, like you've met someone. And Willem's like kind of smiles and he's like He's like, yeah. And he's like so giddy and he's blushing. And his brother's just like, Oh, I you don't have to explain anything. Yeah, he's like, he's like, but you gotta crush. And Willem's just like, well, I don't think it's a crush. He's like, I don't know what it is. And his brother's like, yeah, okay. Whatever. Like stupid. But he eventually hangs up, and because you know, he's gonna he's gotta at least make some kind of appearance. Yeah. And he shows up into the dining area. And August has a whole seat. Oh my gosh. She looks like a little kid on Christmas. Like, he's like, I got a seat for ya. He goes, so excited, and he's like, You and Patty this chair. Yes, I'm like, oh dear guy. The villain's like, nah. And he goes and sits at the table with Simone and Felice and Sarah and their mom. Yeah. I'm like, oh, and he meets the mom. Her name's Linda. Yes. Is that it? Yes. So he meets her mom, their mom, and it's just a really cute moment. And then Sarah fucking ruins it. But with the horse talk. Yeah, because they're asking Felice about the horse. Yeah, they're like, oh, how is that going? Like. You know, and she's not really saying much. She's like, oh well, it's good. And I forget how this even occurred. I I think she's basically like, yeah, like I'm taking really I think she was saying how like she was taking really good care of him. Yeah. All that kind of stuff. It's Sarah's like bullshit, basically. She's like, Sarah's like, I'm taking care of him. She's like, so I've been riding him every day. I feed him, water him, brush him, do all this kind of stuff. Felice is just kind of scared of him. And you're just like And you're like, oh, and her and her parents are like, What? What do you mean? Yeah. What why are you riding her horse? Yes. And she's like, because Felice doesn't want to. And you're just like, okay. And they're like, what? And Felice is like, fuck. So she leaves and she's like crying. And I and I feel bad. Yeah. Because she's trying to impress her parents. Like they don't really care unless she's doing something like Remarkable. Remarkable. Like getting straight A's. Yeah. Or like being this great equestrian writer, you know. And so she's on the hallway and Villain like follows her because he just wants to make sure. Like Yeah. I mean, like he they've known each other for a long time. You know, he's just he's a good friend. Exactly. He views her as someone that's just a just a friend. Friend. Just a friend. Just a friend, Felice. Just a friend. Just a friend. And here she goes. And he's like, so you know, everyone thinks you're perfect. Like, you know, you're you're not a failure. And she's like, Well, do you think I'm perfect? And he's like, he's like, Well, yeah, of course. And she fucking kisses him. And my girls. The way he didn't even do anything back, he just sat there and she's like, Oh, uh, I didn't know that. And then she's like and then she's like, fuck. And then again, she's so upset. I think in that moment for her, she realizes there's nothing ever gonna happen. No, I don't know. Ever. She's like, well, he just called me perfect, so obviously he likes me. And then she kisses him and he's like, nah. I didn't mean it like that, bitch. It's not a single thing. No, and she's like, well, fuck. Yeah. Then we get back out to this back and forth of uh August and Simone. They're now fighting again. Oh they're beefing hellas in this episode. Yes. And it's basically like fire fighting with fire because they're both pissed off. Mm-hmm. Right? Like August just had this whole thing with his mom that he had to talk about. And his mom basically told him he has to liquidate his assets from you know something that's been in the family for a long time. Yep. And it it's obviously very significant to August because it was his dad's. Yes. And his dad isn't there anymore. Right. And so he wants to continue that family legacy, but now he's basically being told, you can't have that. You have to liquidate it. And I feel like that's the last connection he really feels to his dad. So and I think it's hard for him too. This is why, like, again, I feel bad for him. His mom clearly just wants to like forget he even existed. Exactly. Like she's just so like it's not a big deal. Yeah. And at first I was thinking, like, oh well, maybe she just really misses him, whatever. I don't think she misses him at all. I don't think she does. I think she doesn't give a fuck. Yes. Because he didn't have any money. Yep. Like when he died. Yeah. So she's just like, eh, you know, whatever. It's like, okay, yeah, he left us like that. So I I feel like August just has a huge disconnect with his mom. And he doesn't have his dad. Yep. There for him. He's very much alone. He is very much alone. Yeah. And so he's just going through it when they're beefing. Yeah. And he like starts like kicking dirt at Simone. Simone's just like, damn. So Simone calls his friends and he's like, yo. They succeed. I don't know. He's just like backup, I guess. I don't know. He's just like, I need backup or something. And so they're talking, and I guess they're trying to come up with like some kind of plan. I I guess to like figure out how they're gonna talk to him. And he's like, I need he's like, I need August to know I'm serious. And then August ends up walking by after he's done at the gym or something, and then they another fight breaks out. They're beefing again. And then this is when August finally like loses it. He's like, My family's broke. I have no money, I got no prospect, I got I got nothing. Literally, because well Simone fucking attacks him. He fell on the bear and he like pushes him to the ground and he's like on top of him, like, give me my money, give me my money. Which at this point, like truly, when I watch this for the first time, it felt so out of character for him. I thought it was. I said, What the fuck? But also at the same time, it's how expert he is. I at the same time, I understand why he crashed out. Yeah. Like he is owed a bunch of money. Yeah. It's bad. He has not seen a single cent. And that's when August is like, Bro, I'm fucking broke. Yes. Like, if I had the money, I would have given it to you already. Yes. And then, but I love someone's friends calling him out. Mm-hmm. They're like, you're no better than him. No, literally, because you attacked him. Yes. And you're wanting all this money. Mind you, you're wanting all this money that's not even yours to begin with. Exactly. Because you just stole stuff. Yes, it's not even his money. It was never your money to begin with. You just won it because he owes you something. Yeah, he owes you because you did a thing, but you shouldn't have never done that thing. Exactly, because you stole it from your dad. Exactly. You stole all this from your dad. So it's just like, yeah, you could feel bad for him for not getting his money, but also you literally did a terrible thing. Like he got himself into this situation. Yes. And then he got dug himself even further by doing tutoring. Yeah. Not telling his mom. Yes. And now he owes a bunch of money. Yes. Like I'm like, yeah, you could blame August, because it's easy to blame him. But like he won't give him his money. It's literally good. But he dug his own grave. Also, it's not even your money, bro. Yes. It belongs to your money. If it was his money, I'll be totally different about the entire situation. Exactly. But that's a little like drug money that you got from your dad. Like, bro, stealing from him. Fucking for real. Like, I I I can see why Simone is very panicked, and I can understand that. But at the same time, babes. You that you got yourself into this hole and you need to get yourself into the phone. That's why, like, even his friends, you could tell they didn't really they didn't feel bad for him. Like No, they didn't. They're just like They're just like, you did that? Like, I feel like they didn't even recognize him. That's why I said it was very out of character, because they didn't even recognize him. They were like, What are you doing? Like No, they because like even before his friend drove away like on their motorcycles, she was just like, You're just as bad as him. Yeah. And then she just drove away. And then he tries to say like sorry to his other friend, his other friend's just like, it's okay, and then just drives off. Yeah. Like they they did not want to entertain it at all. No. They were just like, not even a little bit. And I like I said, I don't I don't blame them. But I don't blame him either because they're like, dude, you literally put this situation upon yourself. Yeah. Like I I don't know what to tell you. Basically. Like and again, I feel bad for him, but at the same time, yeah. You can only be sorry for somebody for so long, whatever. So But he gets home, Sarah's casually chilling on his bed. And she's like, So were you with Willem? And he's just like It's like uh First off, no, actually. I was tackling his cousin. Basically, but uh he was like, no. And she's like, Well, I see the way you guys look at each other. And she's just like, You like him, don't you? And he's like, What? And she's like, you do and like in this whole thing. Reminds me of the SpongeBob episode where Squirt is like Krabby Patties and he wants to keep it a secret. And SpongeBob's like, you like Krabby Patties. You don't want to use Squidward. And Squirt's like, Yes! Yes! I am mad at it! I love Krabby Patties! Yeah, that's what it feels like. But their their sibling dynamic is so I don't know, it's very comforting, it's very relaxed. And it was the fact that Sarah was like, hey, we made a pact. We said we wouldn't lie to each other, we said we wouldn't keep secrets. Exactly. And it's the fact that again, like I was kind of saying earlier, like Simon realizes that he's the prince and that this is a huge deal, so much so he didn't even tell his own sister. Yeah. So that also just says a lot. Uh while he's upset that Wilhelm wants to hide things, he's also very much hiding it himself. Yes. Very much so. So I was like, Oh my god, this next scene, dear. God, I forgot this happened. I liter when she when Felice showed up at August's door in his dorm, I said, Oh I said, Oh girl. I forgot too. I forgot this whole scene existed. I forgot this is how this started. Um so we know in the last couple episodes, August is really into Felice. Like he he really likes her. Yes. And he always is wanting to take her to dinner, like he's wanted to take take her on dates, and she really didn't have anything to do with it, but now that she's been rejected by she realizes choice number one's out of the picture. Yeah, choice number two must present itself. And that choice number two is August. I just want to know like what landed her there. Like, I I don't know. I I wonder if she also feels lonely because her parents are basically That's a good point. Her parents are there, but they're not, they're not really there for that. It's like the parallels I said between the two of them. Like they're physically there, but they are not there mentally or emotionally for her at all. And so I I feel like she went there out of just like I don't know, I feel like Pity for herself. Exactly. I feel like I need to be around someone, I need someone, like I don't want to be lonely, and she's just like, Can I come in? And I think August, because he's also lonely, he was like, Okay, yeah, like yeah, sure. Yeah, sure, come in. You know what? This might be a good thing right now. Yeah, and so she just kind of turns around, she goes, So I know you really want me, so here I am. And just stands at, you know, like that meme where she's like arms to the side, alright. Lonely, she's just like there, she's like, Alright, I'm here, babe. Here and he's just like, Oh, okay, okay. Like he's doesn't he doesn't really I feel like he's not processing that this is real and that it's happening because he's into her, yeah. So and she's like repeatedly shut him down, yes, and so now he's just like uh yeah, okay. So you're and she like approaches him and they start kissing, and you know here's the thing. Um, don't laugh. August, his actor is very cute, he's a cute, he's very attractive. But because of the character, the character is ugly, so therefore he is ugly. But then in this moment, I'm like, wow, he looks so good. He looks innocent, he looks like a decent person, and I'm just like, what the fuck? And he looks so like sincere because this person he actually likes is like touching him. Yeah, and you could just tell he's like happy for like the first time it almost He's actually like wow, yeah. Okay, like someone actually wants to be in my life. I don't have to like He's like I didn't have to force them, coerce them, whatever. I don't have to pay them. Yeah, like the person up. Yeah. And so in that moment, he looks completely different to me than how he looks in other parts of the show. Yeah. No, I totally agree with you. Which like I think the same look, he also had that same look when he wanted Willem to sit next to him because he's with these people that are devoid of emotion and at the like dinner table or whatever at the parents' weekend, and they're just asking him all these questions, blah blah blah. Like, I I just think Yeah, I think it's the longing eyes. It is, it's those like, yeah, just he like wants someone to be in his life so badly, but he doesn't know how to I guess achieve that. Yeah. I feel like it's always just been handed to him, friends and everything. Yeah. So in this moment he looks completely different to me. Yeah, and no, I was like, whoa, who is this who who is this right now? But I I liked that. I liked seeing that other part of his character. That's not just like the snobby front that he has. Yeah. No, I totally agree with that. Yeah. But then we get to Simone and he packed his bag to go stay with Villam. Yes. He said, Um, I'm gonna be with my friends, bye mom. And his mom's like, okay. And he pulls up and Villem's like, hey, we gotta talk. Yeah. Because August decides he's gonna stay there that weekend instead of leave because of the fight that he had with his mom with liquidating his assets. And so he decides to stay. Yeah, and Phillom is like, so what do you think about that? Yeah. Because this guy's about to be up my ass all weekend. And again, I think that goes back to August just wants someone to hang out with. He just wants, but he doesn't know how to do it in a healthy manner. No. And so he's just like, Yeah, this guy's gonna be up my ass. Like, what do you think we should do? And I love that, right? Before he just shut him down, right? This time he's like, I'm asking you your thoughts, your opinions. Like, I'm not telling you no, I'm just telling you what's changing, what's different. What what you what would you like to do? What are you comfortable with? Yeah, and someone's like, Well, I don't wanna, I don't think I can stay here. And so then Willem's like, Well, what if I come to your house? Yeah, but I'm with you, and he's like, with me and my mom. He's like, Yeah, he's like, Exactly. I thought your mom was cool. And someone's so happy because he wants to spend time with him at his house. Yes, and like there's no there's no like weird feelings about classes or like anything like that. Villan's just sincerely like, yeah, you know, I'm just gonna go, let's just go. I don't care. So they get ready, get their shoes on, jackets on, walk outside, and and oh my god. Everyone is just staring, staring at Villem. They're like, Do you think you can hear them saying, like, oh, do you think he knows yet? And they're like whispering and they're all looking at their phones. Yeah. And the counselor comes out, and Villem is like very visibly confused. Yeah, he's like, just come with me. And he's just like, Okay. Okay. And so he goes to the counselor's office, and everyone, even on the walk there, they're still like whispering and or like silent and like looking at him. Nobody's saying anything to him. He's like, Am I in trouble? Nothing. They yeah, he's like, Am I in trouble? And they don't even answer him. No, and the they just hand him the phone, like, here you go. And I was like, At least tell him he's not in trouble, like, damn. But like, you can feel the anxiety through the screen, and like him actively like becoming more and more anxious as this is happening, so you feel like you're in the situation with him. Which you were saying that earlier. Um They just captured it so well. I don't know how they did. Like, I don't know if it was the silence and everything along with it. I think that was part of it. You're just like, oh my god, like something terribly. And I think it's also that we found out at the same time as this character as to what is happening. Like, we didn't see anything before he found out. Yes. Which a lot of shows I feel like do that, so then it takes that surprise aspect away. Yeah. But he holds the phone and it's like, hey, it's your mom. And he's just like, um, okay, hi. Like he has no clue what's going on. And the way his mom says it too, she's like, so Eric, he was just driving really fast and he lost control and got in a car accident. Got in a car accident. And Volum's like, okay. She's like, and then she's like, well, I'm like, Eric's dead. And I'm like, Dead? Like, she she was just like, so he's uh Eric is dead. Yeah. Like that that's it. And I was like, and you can tell she's very upset. Oh yeah. Like on the phone. Over the phone, which honestly props to her. Props to her for even being able to say this to him, to Wilhelm. Um, because she is herself just lost her son. Yes. But she and she's trying to go about it in a way to where she can still say it without being overly emotional, yes. But also in a way that's still going to deliver what it needs to. Well, also like for the fact that he's the crown prince. Yeah. So now like all of that political part she has to deal with now. Mm-hmm. So it's like she has one part of just being a mom that she lost her son, but the other part of, well, now I have to figure out this whole heir thing, and I guess figure out my delinquent son. Because he's not the crown prince anymore. He is in that moment, the prince. Yep. Like he now he has to do all the stuff that Eric was doing that Eric was doing. So now he has all this responsibility that is being put on him. Yeah. Yep. So that's where the episode ends. Yeah. Isn't that so good? So peachy. I remember you were saying, you were like, I don't remember it being that early up in the episode. Yeah. I thought it happened later in the show. No, I I remember in my head being later too. I thought it was like episode five or something. That's what I thought too. Like, I I forgot how early on this happened in the show. And so I like I don't I don't even know why. I guess I mean I've only seen it one time. So I don't know, I just thought it was later. Like uh. The timeline can be kind of fishy sometimes, I feel like. Just going through all of it, but I feel like this new path for Wilhelm's gonna be really hard just because Oh yeah. It was already hard for him before not being like the crown prince. And he and he already didn't have the responsibilities, so now he has the responsibilities. So he I just know he's stressed. Oh, gonna be stressed. So yeah. Yeah, but that is episode three. So how do you feel? You know, I don't even know how many times I've watched this show. So I'm just like every single time I feel like I always pick up on something different or pick up on something new. That's true. Which is kind of cool. Um, but I just love these characters all so much. I you know, I've watched so many different shows, just in general, where it's just like you like the main characters, but everybody else is like, eh. You know, but the series, they all kind of like really work together. They do all really make the show, I think, worth it. They do. And just like you're you're invested in everybody's time, which I think is really cool. Even the side characters, yeah, their stuff affects everyone else, and they're just as important. Like, I feel like a lot of times there's shows with the side characters and they're just they have no development. They're just like they're they might be friends with somebody, but like they're not really doing anything to the plot or story. But like this one, they're all intertwined. Yeah, and they're all like equally as important. It gets messy real fast. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. But I love it. So episode three out of the uh c compared to the other two, I feel like this it's just a lot more of a sad episode. It is, yeah. Um, not just with Eric's death, but just the fact that like you see the families and how they are with their own kids and then you start you start understanding why these people are the way that they are. Like, you understand, like people that are really rich, like they did something to get there. Exactly. To get that money. Whether they did that in good faith, bad faith, uh, you know, did terrible things, good things, you don't know. Or like everybody got there in a different way. Did they work really hard? Did they not have to work at all? You know, it's just kind of crazy to see like all this wealth that just encompasses everybody. And mind you, these they're like what, like high school students? Like 16, 17 year old kids. 16, 17-year-old kids, like just trying to figure out what's going on. And I say that I say that as somebody who's about to turn 27, okay? This is a 10-year difference. If I was 16- I'm still figuring out stuff, are you kidding me? No, for real. If I was 16, I had all this shit to deal with, I think I would actually lose my mind. Like, it's so crazy. And like, I I I don't know about you, and this is not a hate to like rich people, but I'm like, this is not a bash, I swear. And I know there's a lot of people that have money are very nice. But I remember this one time when I was out in like Chesterfield and went to like this dinner party. I think I told you about this before. Oh my god. It was in college. I went with this like girl that I knew. Uh-huh. And I remember I was like, oh yeah, like, because at the time I was gonna be like an occupational therapist, work in you know, the medical field. Yeah. And I remember all these like really rich people had like wine in their hand. They're like, oh my gosh, like, what are you what are you getting into? Like, what are you what are you gonna do? And I was like, oh yeah, I'm gonna like I was so proud. I was like, oh yeah, I'm gonna be, I think I'm gonna be an occupational therapist and everything. Mind you, occupational therapists make good money. Yeah. They make like, you know, 80 to 100,000 a year. Yeah. I I feel like that's pretty decent money. That is. And they were just, they were just the responses were just like, uh, you know, it was just very much like, and you're just like, you can tell they look down on you. Yeah, you're like, am I shit right now? Like, is this what it is? And then I remember my uh the girl that I got like went through with everything. They're like, what are you doing? And she was like, Oh yeah, I'm uh doing business, and then I'm doing a minor marketing, blah blah whatever. And they're like, oh my gosh, like that's so good, like, congrats, like all that kind of stuff. And they started talking about different businesses, and I said, I'm in the wrong crowd. Like, I was like, I was like, I am not meant to be here. Yeah, and then they'd be like, Oh, do you know anybody famous? You'd be like, No, and then they'd be like, Okay, they'd be like, Okay, yeah. So, like, when when I think about these moments with like Simon, I'm like Simon, Simone, and uh like just like August and all these other rich people, like while they're like at home and everything, I'm like, I understand the frustrations dealing with these people. Oh yeah, because you're just like they just don't get it, they just don't understand, exactly. So it's like, and for those who do understand, you're doing great, sweetie. Doing great.
