Young Royals: Episode 5 (S1E5)

Welcome back to another week of 'Tis the Season. This week, we are of course discussing the fifth episode of Young Royals. 

Listen as we dive into more tender moments between Simon and Wilhelm, the consequences of the party, and the blooming friendship between Felice and Sara. It always seems like there is one problem after another, and there are only more to come when August decides to do something reckless (per usual).

So try and relax as we talk about the good, the bad, and the somewhat ugly situations these characters find themselves in.

My name's Emma. I'm Meredith. And this is to season! Whoa, whoa. We kind of harmonized on that, actually. Why didn't we kind of like pop off? Either that eight or it sounded like shit. I don't know which. Well, I'm when I listen back to it, I I will determine if it sounds good or not. But it sounded like we kind of had like a harmony moment, you know? I love it. It was so good. Um, so welcome back, everyone. Um, we're a day late. Sorry about that. Yeah. We messed up our schedule. I messed up the schedule. It's actually a lot just happened last week, and yeah, next thing you know, it the days are just gone. You're also working quite a bit. Yeah. So it it's okay. Everything's chill. So we're getting the episode out today. Exactly. But that's all that's all we can do. So happy Friday. Yeah, happy Friday. I'm so glad it's Friday. Um, I'm like on a high this week, honestly, because I just got done with my one job that was stressing me out to the max. Um, oh my god. Kona just watched it in here with the toy. He's so fucking cute. I'm sorry. That was the clearest thing I've ever seen. Yeah, it's so he's laid it down and then it's like one of those lamb toys who just brought it in and now it's just sitting there and he just laid on the couch. That was so cute. I literally can't erase that from my head. That was so adorable. What the fuck? Okay. Anyway, so I I feel like a whole weight has lifted off my shoulders. And now I just teach private lessons. So and it's so fun. It's so easy. You're a whole new person now. I am. And I found out it was not incorrect technique with my voice last week. I'm a dumbass. And I was like, oh, well, my voice is starting to feel better if I if I do this. Yeah, because you're taking the medicine, you idiot. So then I stopped taking the medicine and then it came back, and I was like, oh my god, I'm so stupid. So now I'm back on my um acid reflux medicine, and my voice feels so good. I almost cried yesterday because I sung for about 45 minutes, because I haven't sung in two weeks. Because I was trying to rest it because it was swollen. But I was I made it to 45 minutes, no burning at all. And I felt so awesome. Everybody applaud. Literally applaud because this is I don't I don't even know. Like she was trying to give up coffee, and I said, girl, you're not gonna be able to do that. I still have to. Still? Mm-hmm. Can't you drink it a little bit? We'll sit. I could have I have I could have a little bit here and there, but I would have to take medicine before it. Like I'd have to drink. Yeah, but maybe maybe I'll do that. But I've been doing okay without caffeine. Um I've been getting headaches, but you know, what can you do? Nothing, really. Just gotta get off that. I know. Uh thing called uh caffeine. Exactly. I feel like I'm like completely sober now. I'm just like, damn, this is the real world, I guess. Real world is crazy. Because I haven't had alcohol in almost two months. Um I had I had one drink at this um bridal luncheon I went to. But I feel like it was like a tiny little thing of um champagne. A little sofuel. So if it's something like that, I'm allowing myself, but I refuse to go out just for the purpose of getting drinks. I refuse to have alcohol in my house. Um, it's been going pretty good. At first it was really hard, but here we are, almost two months in. Doing great. Exactly, exactly. Um, yeah, so that's going on. I just feel really good, and I still have some mucus in my throat from the acid reflux, so my voice still kind of sounds like me. But it feels good. It feels good. So everything's chill. Everything's chill. Okay, anyways, Emma, do you have any updates? No, my life is shit. No, let's not.

It's been like all of April was a shit show. And it's fine, I can't get into it, obviously, but I work in the medical field. For those who work in the medical field, are a nurse, doctor, nurse practitioner, a tech, whatever you know you understand. Um it's been terrible. And I work on a trauma floor. Ooh. That'll get you. Woo wee!

Woo weep! But, anyways, getting into Young Royals without further episode five. Episode five. I like how they just title it episode five. Yeah, that's why I title my page every single time. Same the next episode, episode five. So we left off on um Wilhelm and Simone in Wilhelm's room. Yes, and August taking a video.

So we just know it's gonna be a crazy episode, which definitely was.

Did not disappoint. It did not disappoint at all. But we start off with them in the room. Yeah. In Wilhelm's room.

Yes, day after, you know? And Wilhelm's just looking at someone, like he's just looking at him, kind of like touching him, like very delicate.

They're like kind of ghosting above his skin. Like they're he's like, Is this real? Is this real? I don't want to wake him up. Yeah, and then he comes around and kind of starts like touching his face a little bit, like with the backside of his hand. It's just all very it's all just very cute and very so tender. Yeah, he's just like, oh man, he's here, he's real. Um like this is this really happened. Like, I love it so much. Yes, like so, so much. It is so cute. I couldn't stop smiling when I was writing it down. I was like, oh my god. Yeah, and then um someone wakes up, yeah, and they just you know say their good mornings, hi's, whatever, and then someone was just like, Your breast stinks. He's like, You have horrible morning breath. So then they start like fighting, like play fighting. Yeah, because one of them just starts breathing in his face. He's like blowing his face, and I'm like, okay. Like, oh, I don't know if I would do that, but you know, it's each their own. If someone told me I had bad morning breath and like we had just started like dating, I'd be like, damn. They're like, let me like leave, I guess. I'd be like, damn, and I'd get up and brush my teeth and feel really ashamed. Yeah. I'd be embarrassed. I'd be like, oh! I'm uh I'm sorry. You'd be like, thanks, I guess. Thanks, I guess. But they start play fighting and then they start kissing again. And then all of a sudden we get a little knock-knock knock on the door. Yeah, from his who's his bodyguard security or whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she's like, Yeah, you only have five minutes left of breakfast. And so he's like, Well, okay. I guess I gotta go. So he he tells Simone, like, leave after we leave, and then it it should be fine, like, if you just leave after us. Just make sure, like, no one sees you. And the entire time Simon just sit in there still just like naked and stuff under the Yeah, and he's like, he's just all like rolling around. He's like, Oh my god, my bed! My bed. That's what he feels like. I fear. Like, not even I fear, like, I just think that's what he feels like. That's exactly what he felt like. I was just like, Oh yeah, oh he's so adorable. And Villum goes to breakfast, and we see him packing up some breakfast food for Simone.

He makes a little sandwich.

He does, because Simone's like, well, don't I get breakfast? He's like, I'm hungry. He's like, I'm hungry. And Wilhelm's like, nah, bro, you don't get anything. He's like, he's like, nah, you should have brought your own sandwich. And then he's like, I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding. So he makes this little breakfast sandwich for him, and he's gonna go, yeah, he's gonna go give it to him. And of course, August is there, ruins he ruins the moment over every fucking thing. I mean, count. He's always there. Always. He's there and for what? I'm like, what are you doing here? Literally go away. Like, he has no sole purpose in my head. I literally wrote down that he always just he's ruining the moment. He is so truly, I I truly Ug. Ug Ug Ug. But I'm like, they're just trying to have a nice, calm, cool moment outside, doing this kind of cute flirty thing from a distance, and then he has to interrupt, and he just wants to give him a sandwich. Like, damn. Well, because Simone even motioned Villem over to down and he was gonna go. He was gonna go down and talk to him, and then August ruins it. Per usual. Like, I have nothing nice to say about him whatsoever. Like, he pisses me off every single fucking time. Every single time. Like, I I I I have no words.

And then we get to the classroom and you can just see that Wilhelm just kind of keeps like looking behind everything.

Yeah, but he like slides the sandwich to someone. Yeah, he like slides him real fast before he sits down. And then you can just see Sarah being like clocking it all over again. Like the wheels are turning in her head, and she's like, So you where were you? Yeah. I tried answering your phone. Or you're like, yeah, I tried calling you or texting you, and he's like, My phone died. And she was like, You didn't spend the night at home though. And he was like, Yeah. He's like, No, I didn't, you're right. And and then she sees them kind of looking at each other and like she just smells. And she's like, Yeah, I she's like the stupid hoe. Yeah, basically. Basically, she's like, Bro, this is not real. I also I just have to point out I was really confused. Like, remember uh Wilhelm used to sit next to him, but like in the desk nest and now he's up a seat, and I'm like, what's that about? I don't know, because in the class, like later, I don't know if it was that exact moment, but they were doing presentations. So I wonder if they just changed seats to sit next to their like presentation partner or something. I guess, maybe that was really weird to me. I was like, wait, why?

Wait, I was like, he usually sits next to him.

Yeah, I wonder if the teacher or something had the move seats for like the presentation. That would make sense, I guess. Because then they could work at the same table and do the work together.

And the girls were like, capital punishment for or against. We are for. And I was like, I was like, this this reminds me of the first episode when they were comparing, like, is murder worse than this and this and this? And we even talked about it, and it's like you can't really compare when things are so different. Like, situationally, like I like e even even then, like it's just they're just like, oh yeah, murder's worse than you know uh rape or worse than child whatever profiles.

Yeah, and I'm like, you can't put them next to each other and they're not in the same category of I don't know.

Like they're both bad. They're both terrible. Like, I don't so you can't really like compare them. I don't think it's all I think it's just bad. That was just really funny. I was like, bro, what's it? So then this being like capital punishment for or against like, um Alright y'all. Like, they're just I feel like they're very out of touch with reality. Oh, they definitely are. Like they're just in their own world. They for sure are. And then the whole scene with Felice and the choir and the girls like pointing and stuff. I literally, mind you, I've watched it several times. I was like, I was like, why did it even have that scene? I don't know. I didn't I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know what was going on either. Like it was just like a simple like there was no context. No, and they were just trying to show they didn't say anything before, so I was like, what are they doing? So they were just showing their phone and it was just a picture of her. Yes, I was like, okay. And she was even like, What are you talking about? Like, yeah, because like from her point of view, it probably just was like one of her selfies she posted online or something. Yeah. And so she was just like, I'm like, as the watcher, I didn't even know what was going on. And then as Felice, I would also be like, What the fuck is that? I'd be like, What are you doing? And they were trying to motion her out of class, and she's like, nah, man, you know, I'm practicing.

And then it was, and then it jumped over to the whole uh Alexander like suspension thing. My god.

Which this whole thing pisses me off to a T. And when I tell you I'm pissed, I'm pissed off at everybody. Like every single party involved. Literally. I'm mad at August, I'm mad at Simon, I'm mad at Wilhelm, I'm mad at literally all the other guys a part of this entire group.

No offense except for Alexander. Nope. No one is getting blamed. They literally treat him like a guinea pig. Yeah. Or like a little servant, because he's a first year. And I'm like, you guys are horrible. Like, like, you last time you wouldn't even let him participate in anything, and now he's in trouble because none of you let him back in. Mm-hmm. And he got caught with all the drugs that you guys wanted. Right. From Simone's dad. Uh-huh. Make it make sense. Right. You know, like I I it's just a whole fucking mess because why I I I don't have any words, honestly.

That's all because there's just too much going on. But we'll we'll get into it a little bit more, but Yeah.

Then we get to the stables with Sarah's dad.

She's uh he's texting her. Yeah, exactly.

Like all of a sudden he's like really t he's like, she's like, I don't understand. I've told him I don't want him to talk to me. I don't get why he's talking to me all of a sudden. Right. And Felice is like, Well, you know, you don't ever want to see him again? And she's like, No, I don't. And Felice is like, well, you know, your your feelings matter more than what he's doing. Exactly. And I was like, oh my gosh, like your feelings matter first. And the fact that Sarah just said thank you, I feel like she doesn't get that from anybody else. I feel like she doesn't either. I feel like she really needed that. And especially coming from Felice, because going even going back to the first episode, their dynamic is completely different. Like they are the best friends. They are actual friends now. And so Felice having her back like that and supporting her, Sarah probably is like, wow, this is the first time I've kind of experienced that, especially at this school.

So for Felice to make her feel seen and heard is really important.

But I I'm really glad that she's supporting Sarah with that. But then she's like, oh, also, do you want to stay the weekend?

And Sarah's like, well, why? And Felice's like, well, that's what friends do.

Yeah. And I was like, oh my god.

Like she's like, well, why would I ever do that? Why would I want to do that, you know? And the it's just the fact that she's never really had friends. I know.

At least not good ones. Or just kind of good acquaintances, maybe.

Probably. Yeah. But it it's just it's so it's just so best friend, best friend coded, and so it's like the definition of girlhood. I was thinking of girlhood. Like just supporting each other, and she's like, you know, it's just a it's just a sleepover. And just having a fun night. Yeah, and we'll see that towards yeah, the end of episode two. Oh my god. Like their friendship has completely blossomed. I love it. I thought you were gonna talk next. Oh, sorry. No. Oh my my bad, my bad. Yeah, sorry. We get to the lake though. We do someone. They're walking around the lake, and of course, stupid bodyguards have to be around. Bro, they're always there and they definitely know what's going on. They just they're just paid to be there. They don't give a fact that like they just start talking about the lake. And then he's like, Man, the lake's cold. And then he yells out to the guard, he's like, Man, the lake's really cold today. The water's very cold today. And I'm like, shut up. No, because he was like, What do you think they think that we're talking about? And someone's probably like, I don't know, probably that the lake is really cold. So he shouts that and they're like, Yeah. Wilhelm really confuses me as a character because I feel like he doesn't care. Yeah. All of a sudden, but all but like at the same time cares so much. Like he he like contradicts himself.

He really does. And I think that's why he gets so angry and frustrated with himself. Because he doesn't I think it's like he doesn't want to care about things and doesn't care about things, but then has to care about things.

Exactly. At the same time, he's just like, Well, I have to care about it. Yeah, it's more of a have to, but it just confuses me as a character for him because I'm just like because most of the time he's just like, Oh, I don't care. Yeah, like he's already done so many things that his brother would have never done led him to be at the school in the first place. Exactly. And so we obviously know that he is doing whatever he wants, truly. But at the same time, he cares so much, yeah. Cause he knows now it all relies on him. So it's just he he really contradicts himself. It's very back and forth.

Yeah, so like the whole just like yelling out to the guard thing, like but the leg thing or like it's just very much more him for sure, but it's just weird because then like you see later in the episode he's very different.

Yeah. But we go to Felice's room and Sarah's like checking out stuff in her room. Bro, I don't remember this at all. I looked at Meredith when we were watching this. I said, What? She's literally what walking into her room, going over to her window, and there's a picture. It's like it's a Polaroid. A Polaro- Yeah, where where is that from? I don't even know. I don't know, and it's like the derpiest fucking picture. Yes, and it's not like it's a group photo, it's not like it's a photo of both of them together for some reason. It's a selfie, like so this guy took a Polaroid camera, turned it around on himself, and took a selfie. And she has it, and I don't know from where. I don't know either. I I forgot that we that was even a thing. In my head, I'm like, is this like from the party or something? But then it would have been dark outside. I know everything, and it was like white and sunny and Yeah, it was like he was in his room and it was like daytime or something. And it's weird as hell. And I don't I don't know. I don't know either. It took me by surprise. I was like, wait, what the fuck? And then she picks it up and was just looking at it, and I'm like, Like, what? What?

And watching that made me feel like I was in a felice situation because Felice was so all about like Wilhelm scrolling all the time, doing all that kind of stuff.

Sarah having that picture there, I think she liked August. That's like I think she liked him. Felice? No, no, I think Sarah liked uh August.

That's why I said it was a Felice situation, because Felice is all about Wilhelm looking at pictures. Oh, that's what I'm saying. And then Sarah has this picture of August. I feel like she looks at it a lot clearly because it's right at her desk out the window.

Yeah. Well it's isn't it at Felice's desk? Was it Felice's desk? I thought Sarah's desk. Well, Sarah doesn't room there. It was in Felice's room. Damn, I'm so stupid. You're not stupid. That's I was so confused. I was like, what? Bro, I thought it was at her house. It was in Felice's dorm. Yeah. Because then right after that, they bring that bed in, the mattress for her to sleep on.

It is, because Felice doesn't really like him that much.

So you know what? It's fine. But they like bring in this makeshift bed for Sarah to sleep on. And they're like, oh, what are you wearing for dinner? And she finds out that they like dress up for dinner on Saturday nights. And she's like, Oh, I don't I don't have anything. So Felice's like, oh well, you can borrow something of mine. Yeah. She's like, you can just have it. Just wear it. And I was like, stop. And then she does her makeup. Give her her hair clips that we see her wear all the time. Yeah, like she does her hair, she does her makeup, and they're like just giggling, having fun. There's other girls in there. She's really good. I don't really see that. No, we don't. And we haven't really seen that up until this point. And again, I feel like she finally feels seen with these girls. Because again, I don't really think she's had really close friendships before. Like you mentioned that. So it was just really cute. It was so sentimental. And it reminded me of like getting ready for like prom or getting ready for homecoming with my friends. Yeah. Or just having sleepovers. I have not had a sleepover in so fucking long. We should have one. You literally live downstairs for me. Yeah. So we should have one. But it's like you have we have a sleepover like every night. I mean, yeah, but no, it's not the same. It's not the same. Are you saying you want to sleep in my bed? No. Do you want me in your bed? Yeah. No. Oh! Teresa don't listen to this. I don't know if Pum will allow that. No, he wouldn't. He would kick you out. Ugh. He would kick you out really fast. No, but like, you know, like, you know how like air mattresses, popcorn on the ground, just like watching movies on the floor. We would always I would always do like potions. I would make potions. From online, or I'd try and do like a spell on myself.

Or one thing I used to do is I would my friends and I would like try and come up with a new perfume smell. And so we'd pour a bunch of stuff in a what? Are you serious right now? You've never done that? No. Oh, we'd pour a bunch of stuff in a bottle and you chose to like shake it up and then we'd smell each other's quote unquote perfume that we came up with. It was nasty. I was about to say, and I don't think that would be pretty. Because I was like, oh my gosh, what if we created one? It was so good and we got rich. It wasn't. Not if you're rich. No. We are not. Obviously. Oh my god. That's crazy. Anyways, it was super cute. So yeah. Then we go to Simone's house and Villam is there with his bodyguard. He's over for dinner. Yeah. And it's so cute. It is. And Simone's mom welcomes him in. She's like, it's so good that you're here. Like, you're always welcome here. I'm really glad. And Simone's just like, okay, we're gonna be in my room playing video games. Yeah.

I'm sure you're gonna play a lot of video games, bro. My favorite moment in this entire room is when they're talking about the fish. Yes. Yes. So they go to Simone's room and Villa's just kind of looking around, like just taking out his little knickknacks and whatnot. And then he's like, Oh, you ha fish.

And he's like, Yeah, they're all just kind of the same. They all look the same, but they have names, you know.

And he starts listing them. I wrote them down.

Oh, you have them written down? Yeah, what are they? Ollie, Osu, and Philly. Yeah, I didn't get that. I was paying too much attention to Wilhelm coming up behind him and starting to like kiss his neck. I only wrote them because these are like really important. Oh for season two. Oh shit. Yeah.

Okay, I'll keep that in. I'll keep that in mind because I didn't even know that. Oh yeah. That's my bee. Anyway, that's what I'm here for. But um Phyllum is like behind him, hugging him and like being all cute. Yeah. Everything about it is just a cute little moment. And he's like kind of distracting small small. And he's like, uh that that fish is uh uh and uh and uh and uh I'm like bruh I'm like okay. So they they oh my god Oh girl, not the yawn. I didn't have coffee this morning, me either. Um but anyways, they're kissing and everything, and then some monster's like, nah, bruh. And then he turns on a video game, which honestly made me jump because it was so loud. It was so loud. I was like, oh my god. And Villan was like, why'd you turn that on? We're playing video games, obviously. Obviously, so he's like, I don't want them to hear. And Volum's like, does this turn you on or something? He's like, he's like, shh. They're so cute. I didn't know it does. They're so cute. It probably does turn them on, probably, but then we go back to Felice's place, and again, just girlhood, having fun, all that kind of stuff. Yeah, and Sarah's like, I need to tell you something, which is so proud of her for this. I know, because she's like, I need to tell you something about August because August texted Felice and was like, hey, come over. And she was like, Oh, I'll just tell him I can't because you're here, like to Sarah. And Sarah's like, I need to tell you something. She's like, I didn't know if I should tell you at first because I thought it was not important or whatever. And she's like, he kissed me at the stables, and Felice was just like, damn, what an asshole. Yeah. And Sarah's like, You're not upset? And she's like, No, I'm not in love with him. She's like, if I was in love with him, I'd be upset, but I don't care. And so then they post a picture online with their middle fingers up, and she's like, when your ex tries to kiss your best friend or something, and August sees it and he's like, he throws his phone and he's like, like, maybe it was a beautiful moment. Like, maybe don't do that then.

Like, I feel like that's self-inflicted, and I don't have any pity for that. Yeah. And then after that, August is like, we need a meeting right now. We need a mandatory meeting, and we need to protect the crown um over the whole drug incident thing with Alexander.

And he's basically just like, yeah, well, Alexander basically told us or told me if we put all the blame on him that he's gonna tattletale.

Or or it was uh they said if they couldn't get him back into the school, that's what it was. Yes. And so they're trying to come up with a plan, and August is like, well, why don't we just blame it on Simone? Because blame the person that actually gave the drugs. Because he's the one that brought the drugs in the first place. And this is when you see Volum kind of like, What? Yeah, he's like taken back. He's just confused because I guess he He doesn't know at this point. Yeah, he doesn't know at this point. He doesn't know anything, and he's just like, What the hell? And at that point, he's just like, Okay, like what am I supposed to do? Yeah. Because he's conflicted because at one side he cannot be caught with drugs. Yes. Well, and the same fact too is August is saying these things about someone, but he doesn't actually know if they're true, right?

Because like I feel like he knows August to the point where it's like he says things sometimes and you're just like, okay, well, that actually happened, or we're just trying to blame somebody else.
