Good morning and welcome to our Curl Let's Pray Ministries. We're gonna take a moment to listen to a little bit of this song. Call him Jesus. Amen. Before we get into our topic today. Amen. Amen. Amen. Nobody but Jesus. Nobody but Jesus. I'm very grateful that you all tuned in this morning. I'm so grateful that you all are here with me once again. Today is June 21st, as I stated on this glorious Sunday. Our devotional topic today is pray for others. Amen. And I want to take a moment to just think about how we can pray for others. Amen. How can we serve others? Amen. I want us to be able to connect with people. First Timothy 2 and 1 states, I exhort therefore that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men. Amen. May the Lord have a blessing to the hearing and the reading and the doing of his word. What Paul is saying right here, he's reminding us that prayer is not the last resort, it is the first response. First of all is what he said, amen. Before assumptions, before frustrations, before judgment, before trying to figure everything out ourselves, we got to pray. Pray, pray, pray, pray, pray, child. And there is something deeply beautiful about that because prayer shifts our focus and moves us from worry to trust, from control to surrender, from helplessness to partnership with God. Amen. There's a song that says, I know what prayer can do. I know what prayer can do. I know what prayer can do. I know what prayer can do. I'm telling you, I know what prayer can do. It heals the sick, it raises the dead. I remember, I remember all the prayers that was prayed for me that I knew about. I don't know about all the prayers that was prayed for me outside of my acknowledgement, but I do know that I thank God for everybody who done prayed for me. There's another song that says, Somebody prayed for me, had me on their mind, took the time to pray for me. I'm so glad that they prayed. I'm very grateful that God gives us praying mothers and praying grandmothers and grandfathers and fathers and cousins and aunties and uncles and sisters and brothers. You know what I'm saying? The list goes on and on and on. But I want you to know when you pray for others, you are not just speaking words into the air, you are inviting heaven into their situations. Glory be to God for that. Let me say this one more time. You can pin that somewhere. Like my pastor said, that's a tweetable. When you pray for others, you are not just speaking words into the air, you are inviting heaven into their situation. You are asking God to do what only He can do. And sometimes we forget how powerful that really is. I want you to know that prayer can soften hearts, prayer can open doors, prayer can bring peace into chaos, prayer can reach places we would never physically go. And even when we don't see immediate results, prayer is still working, amen. And I want you to know God can place anybody on our hearts, on our path, just in the nick of time, so we can pray for them. It might be a distant friend we ain't seen in years, it might be a family member going through some things and ain't told nobody, and God said, hey, go ahead, go ahead and call them real quick. You know what I'm saying? Our stranger who's crossing your mind unexpectedly, because you're walking down the street or you in the grocery store, and all of a sudden it was like, man, that person out ate. It's like I gotta speak to them. You know, I done been there before. I done went to, it's so funny, because I love the smell of cologne. Oh my God, I love it. I love it, I love it, I love it. And I was at um Kroger's and this man was stocking the shells. And I had walked past, and I ain't lying, he smelled good. He was an older young, young man. And I said, sir, I don't mean to bother you now, and I don't mean no harm. But can you tell me what cologne you got on? He'd like, oh yeah, baby, I got on. I said, I ain't hitting on you in any kind of way, but I just want you to know that you smell good. And he just started grinning from ear to ear, and he was like, Well, thank you, baby. I said, I once again, I ain't hitting on you. I see you got a wedding ring on, all of that, but I just wanted to let you know that you smell good today. I said, I don't know you, I don't see you every day, but I just want you to know you caught my attention. He said, Well, girl, you knew you doing all right. That's all right. I'm glad you said it. And it he literally lit up all because I said, What cologne you got on, you smell good. And this little old man, young man, I'ma call him, he literally lit up at everything. And we had a small little conversation. And I want you to know this is why I'm saying God could put people along our path, and we don't even know these people. And God be like, hey, befriend them, say something to them to start a conversation so you can pray with them, right? I want you to know, before we pray, I want you to know that when we truly minimize ourselves to focus on others, that is showing God's love. I want you to know that prayer doesn't mean you have to be articulate. It doesn't mean you have to be so holier than thou. It means you gotta have faith and inviting God into the prayer before you pray, amen. And say, God, send your Holy Spirit so I can know what to pray. Send your Holy Spirit so I can follow your word. Send your Holy Spirit so I can make sure that I'm praying the prayer that you will have me pray over this person. I want you to know that when we pray, our hearts become soft, our hearts come in the nail, and we begin, majority of us, become more compassionate toward other people. Amen. Because we're meeting them where they are, and our hearts can be so sincere of what they're going through that we're we're in it with them, even when we don't even know who they are. And then we're just praying, praying, praying for them, right? So I want you to remember this: that we truly have to know that everyone has a story, everyone has a struggle, everybody has a life, and life can be life in, right? And this is why we need to pray, not out of obligation, but out of love. We talked about love the other day, right? Remember that. We have to be able to pray out of love, pray out of our care, and pray with the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen. I'm also once before we start to pray, I'm starting to sound like my past. We say you're gonna close out and he ain't closed out nothing yet. But I want to say this before we truly pray out. I want to say this. Your voice truly does matter. Your voice, just speaking to someone, makes a difference. Your voice holds weight, holds power, and holds the love of God, right? So I want you to know that it might look small, but it's something huge in God's eyes. You have power. So let us go to the Lord in prayer. Honey Father, in the precious name, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before you with thanksgiving in our hearts saying, Thank you, oh God. Lord, we thank you for the gift of prayer. We thank you, oh God, for allowing us to be prayer warriors. Holy Father, that's a gift that we pray that you illuminate times 10 in our life, Heavenly Father. God, I'm praying that you allow us to be in your presence. Allow us to feel your touch when we're praying for other people, Holy Father. Holy Father, we thank you that you hear us when we do pray. You see us when we pray, and you care deeply for everyone that we lift up, Holy Father. And today we ask you to place people on our hearts so we may pray for them consistently, Holy Father. Help us not to overlook the promptings you place within us, oh God. Teach us to be sensitive to your Holy Spirit, to your voice, so that when someone comes to mind, we pause and we pray. Holy Father, we pray that right now that doors will be open to the ones who's listening on the other side of this microphone. God, we're praying that doors are closed, that you choose to close, Helena Father. God, we're praying for healing and peace and strength and hope and a deeper relationship with you, oh God. God, we praying that you touch every listener to draw closer to you. Honey Father, we pray that every listener will fall into your word, that every listener will fall into your worship, that every listener will look to the heels which cometh their help, Honey Father. God, I pray that you would teach us to trust your timing, teach us to trust in your word. Honey Father, give us more of your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Honey Father, I pray that you give us a spirit to love this world as you have loved us. Help us to see the good in all that we do, Honey Father. You said in your word, for God so loved the world that you gave your only begotten Son. And God, we thank you for that. We glorify you, Holy Father, and we praise you for your Son Jesus Christ. Amen, amen, amen. Thank you all for tuning in this morning on this glorious Sunday. I hope you all, it seemed like this was kind of quick today, but I don't think it was. But I just want to thank you all for tuning in once again. If you're local and you're listening, come out to our church and support 1810 Appleton Lane, Lowell, Kentucky, 402-16.
