SPEAKER_03Welcome back to SDK Wednesdays with your girl Ash. Today I will be talking about the aftermath once the wife called. So after she called, and I threw all his stuff in the trash, what happened after? I ended up getting a new car because the first time I met his wife, she told me he let her drive my car a few times. So this guy was letting her drive my car, telling her it was his car. And she also did mention that he kept the glove compartment locked because, of course, it had all of my information on it. This is a kind of a side note to that. On the day I went to buy the car, which was a month before I had our daughter, we were at the dealership for hours. So of course, after I finally purchased it, I just wanted to go home and relax. Tell me why he dropped me off at home. And I can't remember exactly where he said he was going. But it turns out he went straight to see his wife and let her drive my car and was telling her he was thinking about giving it to her. SDK fam, just why. A couple months ago, my daughter did start asking where her dad was and why he doesn't want to come around, which kind of broke my heart. I knew eventually she would ask about him, but I wasn't quite sure how I would answer. I had to tell her when she gets older, if she wants to try and find him, she can, but she hasn't really asked about him since then. So I guess we'll see how that goes. Let's see. My dating life after there hasn't been one. You know how when you're single and some days you wish you were in a relationship. Like sometimes my daughter, once she goes to sleep, I wish I had somebody to cuddle with and watch movies. But then I'll see stuff on TV or social media, and I'll be like, ooh, I'm glad I'm single. If I do date again, I just want someone who will protect my heart. It's just so simple. I'm such an easy-going person. I don't need the fancy things, I just want loyalty. But that seems awful hard to find these days. Another big thing with dating is my daughter. So he would be her father figure. So I definitely have to make sure I choose wisely and whoever I do pick. When I met my daughter's dad, I was at the point where I just wanted to settle down and find like a husband. A few months before I met her dad, I had met this other guy while I was out and about, and he approached me and asked for my number. And up giving him my number. And first date we met up, and you could obviously tell he was doing very well for himself. He pulled up in a new Lamborghini. He was an engineer at Lockheed Martin, which is a very big company here. And when I tell y'all, the first one of the first things he told me was he was only looking for friends. I was looking for a husband, so that was our one and only date. But I did respect the honesty where he gave me the choice. Like, if I wanted to be with him, like I'm not gonna be the only person. So I did respect that, but no, I had to pass on that. I am in a good headspace right now, and my daughter telling me she loves me every day. I cannot complain with anything in life. I did want to get in a couple of the stories that were sent to me. So let's go ahead and get into SDK story time.

SPEAKER_03Okay, this story was sent to me. It says, I had been with him for six years. We lived together, shared bills, built a whole life. Then one day I got a message request. I ignored it, then another one came, and another. Finally I opened it. It said, hey, I think we're dating the same man. My stomach dropped. She told me to check Instagram, TikTok, everything. And that's when I realized she wasn't just another girlfriend. She was his wife. The worst part, she said she already knew about me. When I confronted him, he didn't even deny it. And when I spoke to her again, she said, if you were better, maybe he wouldn't cheat. I told her she could have him, but if I'm still being honest, I still cry about it. Now, how is the wife saying if you were better, he wouldn't cheat? Wouldn't it be like saying that to her? If she was better, then he wouldn't cheat. I don't know, that's crazy. Let's see another one. He started acting distant, but I thought maybe he was planning something. A friend even hinted at it. You're gonna love the surprise he has planned. I really thought he was gonna propose. I was excited, nervous, hopeful. Then I found out the truth. He was planning something. A wedding. Just not with me. He had been engaged to someone the entire time we were together, and I was the only one who didn't know. Wow. That is scary. Uh let's see. I'll do one more. Looking back, the signs were there. He was always unavailable on holidays. Thanksgiving, family trip. Christmas, out of town. Valentine's Day, working late. I believed him every time until one year I decided to surprise him. I showed up at his place unannounced, knocked on the door, and another woman answered. She looked at me like I wasn't the one who didn't belong. And then she said, Can I help you? That's when I knew I wasn't the girlfriend. She was. Wow. Thank you for sending me those stories. I really do appreciate it. And if you want to send me a story, she didn't know podcasts at gmail.com. SPEAKER_03All right. So the question I have, do you think your relationship with your dad plays a role in the men you'd have dated? I 100% do think that. Since I was not around, uh I will say a good role model as a as a man, I think that definitely plays a role. But I will say I have dated good men. I don't think I was emotionally ready for it. Um, but I think having a good male role model definitely can shape the way that you see men. And until next time, my SDK fam, I will catch you later.
