Plot-Twists & Punchlines
Plot-Twists & Punchlines is a comedy podcast hosted by best friends Steph and Mel. We started this show because the world feels heavy — and we wanted to create a soft place to land with laughter, comfort, and chaotic conversations.
Each week, we talk life, books, pop culture, and unhinged thoughts and once a month, we review a popular BookTok book so you don’t have to (but you probably still will).
Grab your drink, your blanket, your emotional support book boyfriend and let’s get into it.

Hi besties, welcome to Plot Twists and Punchlines, the podcast where we bring you laughs, comfort, and questionable takes.
SPEAKER_02I'm Steph.
SPEAKER_01And I'm Mel.
SPEAKER_02Two best friends here to distract you from the world and talk about life books and everything in between.
SPEAKER_01So grab your blanket, your drink, and your emotional support book boyfriend.
SPEAKER_02And let's get into today's episode.
SPEAKER_01I just want to say, um, I looked at that that entire time. It is so blurry. I cannot re read a single word. So all of that was from memory, and there was no reason for me to watch that.
SPEAKER_02That was beautiful.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. So proud. I kept waiting for the words to just like unblur themselves, like that was gonna happen. So I kept like following along. Yeah. Um, and I did it without hesitation. And I am proud of myself because I didn't realize I had that memorized.
SPEAKER_02That sounded great.
SPEAKER_01Last week I did it.
unknownI know.
SPEAKER_01And I haven't read it so I know.
SPEAKER_02It's when push comes to shove, osmosis. You got it.
SPEAKER_01Just say osmosis. That reminds me of that meme. Where it's like sometimes I just use the big words and I photosynthesize somebody who doesn't realize what I'm saying. It was exactly like that.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01So exciting news dropped this week for all of our book girlies. All of our, hold on, up to deshevel myself. I don't know if you can see that on camera, but um, I'm wearing my thread of glass sweatshirt. It says from the 13 from darkness. Nope, from now until darkness claims. I'll just get all that.
SPEAKER_02Um Akatar six and seven.
SPEAKER_01Woo! Acatar 6 is coming out in October, and Akitar 7 is coming out in January. So which coincides perfectly with her um bridal shower, which is in October, and her wedding, which is in January.
SPEAKER_02We did, actually. She's in my DM.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I'll I'll make that work. But we are so freaking excited. We are so excited. So excited.
SPEAKER_02I can't wait. I think, I mean, we have to we have to review it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Right? Um, so I think for I think we should do like a giant review for February. Okay. Actually, it might have to be. Are you gonna be able to read all of that during your wedding? Should we do it uh March?
SPEAKER_02Do you know what month we're in right now?
SPEAKER_01Next March. Obviously. It comes out in January. We obviously can't do it this month.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01The new books aren't even out yet. Are we gonna read it?
SPEAKER_02I can do it.
unknownOkay, I'll read it.
SPEAKER_01When it gets closer, we will decide. But next March, when the books are actually out, yes, um, we will probably do a big review of the entire Avatar series, including obviously six and seven.
SPEAKER_02That'll be so fun.
SPEAKER_01I my theory is it's going to connect to Throne of Glass.
SPEAKER_02I've heard that theory a lot. A lot on social media.
SPEAKER_01I think it's because she said that she's revisiting a world that's not Crescent City, and the she only has three worlds. And if it's not Crescent City and it's not Avatar, it has to be Throne of Glass, which is my favorite of the three, because it's the best of the three. Don't fight me. That being said, I haven't read Crescent City yet.
SPEAKER_02I haven't either.
SPEAKER_01Um but there's no way I I haven't heard the greatest things about Crescent City. So I'm pretty solid in my opinion that Throne of Glass is the best.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No, Akatar is like that series that you read to get into fantasy.
SPEAKER_01It took me how many times did you did you make me read it before I finally finished it?
SPEAKER_02I think like three or four. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I I couldn't get past, I want to say like the first three chapters. Uh then every time she was like, read it, you gotta finish it. And then I did finish it, and I really liked most of it. Yeah. I liked a lot of it. I didn't really the further you got into it, the more smut it became. And I don't like smut. Yeah, me neither. Not that there's anything wrong with it, like if that's what you like, I'm not gonna yuck your yum. Right. It's just reading the words that they use to describe body parts, it like it, it kicks me out of it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I don't like it either. I like tasteful.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Like, I think it's called closed door. Okay. Yeah, and that's what throwing of glass is. Like, you know that they're doing it, but it's not like your appendage is entering my climax. I hate it. Yeah, I don't like it either. I'm gonna cut that out, I think. Cringy and ick. Yes. And then the second part of uh Avatar is just that. I think the last book is 90% that. Oh, for sure. And I just I couldn't, and then like Faira completely changes as soon as she gets with I wasn't gonna say it, that's why I stopped talking, because that's a spoiler. Oh I'm gonna cut that. Um, or believe that, I don't know, I'll do something with that. But as soon as she she basically completely changes, and I hate when fem when girls do that. I don't I think she's a girl, she's not tech I mean technically she's a female. Yeah, they call their other species females, but I don't like calling women females. That's why I hesitated.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she does she does do a big character change from like one chapter to the next.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't even like a subtle change, it was like a I hate you, and then like a okay, I'm yours completely, forever, whatever. You could do whatever you want to me. I don't care. Like from one chapter to the next. I I hate when that happens. Like because you get a man doesn't mean you completely change. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, and some people will argue like she was stepping into her, like no, but the feminine era.
SPEAKER_01Oh god, yeah, anyways. I I agree. In Throne of Glass, that doesn't happen. Like, no female immediately changes because they find their partner, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Just personal growth, yeah.
SPEAKER_01A lot of personal growth and a lot of personal setbacks, which is great. It's like so realistic.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so um but Avatar Six and Seven, I cannot wait. Can't wait. I have theories about what it'll be about, but we won't talk about that. Well, who do you think it's gonna be about?
SPEAKER_01So I feel like you already know my theory of what it's gonna be about. I think it's gonna be gonna be about um more and Nesta and the Valkyries, and I think more is going to I don't think this is a spoiler. I think more is gonna be like is gonna join the Valkyries. I also think Elaine is gonna be in it, and I think Elaine is gonna be evil, and I think the Valkyries are gonna have to fight Elaine.
SPEAKER_02My theory is I don't know if it's necessarily a theory, but I would love to have more Azreel. More and Azreel?
SPEAKER_01Yes, I would like gay.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, no, no, no. More on Azreel. I want to know.
SPEAKER_01I thought you said more and Azreel, and I was like, baby.
SPEAKER_02No, no, I wouldn't know. Wrong body part. No, I just want to know about like his background. I want to know where he came from, and I think that Azreel and Elaine are gonna hook up if they haven't already.
SPEAKER_01Well, they already kissed in the bonus episodes. I also think that's why Elaine kind of likes Azreel. I think Azreel had like his shadow. I think Azreel and Ryzand are Valve or a part Valve.
SPEAKER_02Really?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I was thinking about that when I was reading last night because there's so many connections. Yes. It's crazy. Okay, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So this just became like a SJMS world review. I heard that there's a lot more that connects everything in Crescent Cities. I need to start reading those books.
SPEAKER_02It's just a finished Throne of Glass and then read Crescent City before October 27th.
SPEAKER_01Well, my problem is like here, when does the new Crescent City book come out? Because I know she announced that. I don't remember.
SPEAKER_02Anything about Crescent City.
SPEAKER_01Me either. Well, I didn't want to I hate unfinished series because of this. Because I do and and they say you have to read Crescent City before you read the two new ones. My problem is with us reading this, I I you know me. I have to read them back to back because if I read something in between, I'm gonna forget. Right.
SPEAKER_02We might have to take a month off of book reviews just so I can sit here and write those. Have you started reading Song of Achilles?
SPEAKER_01No, I kind of liked how I did it before where I like read it right before because then I remembered everything.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And it was helpful for me too because I was so I'm half done.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I read, I opened it, and then I was like, no, I want this to be like the last thing I do, so it's like fresh in my mind when we read it.
SPEAKER_02You definitely can do that too with this book. Again, it's it's last letter-esque in the way that like you can read it really fast.
SPEAKER_01Okay. I mean, I couldn't read anything really fast if I push myself.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01That wasn't like a flex on you. It's just I'm a fast reader. That's fine.
SPEAKER_02Um so what I want to talk about this week is I have seen so much on TikTok recently about um like people asking for medical advice and it being very helpful. Like it's so weird that we're in this age of like with our collective experiences, we uh just post them on TikTok and then it ends up helping people better than doctors sometimes.
SPEAKER_01I remember this one TikTok where this guy was just like it wasn't him asking for medical advice, he was just making a TikTok and he swallowed in it, and there was like a lump when he swallowed. People diagnosed him from him just swallowing that lump. Yeah, and then he went to the doctor and that ended up being cancer. That's insane. Yeah, everyone was like, hey, that lump is not normal, like go get and he did. He like listened to the comments and he ended up it saved his life, probably.
SPEAKER_02I know, isn't that isn't that so insane? Yeah, like and there's always comments in those in those videos like um hey, pick up the doctor or pick up the phone and go to the doctor. But sometimes they it I don't know.
SPEAKER_01On the same end of that though, sometimes um TikTok is bad medical advice.
SPEAKER_02Um like these weird health bats I've been seeing a lot of lately.
SPEAKER_01Like what I had just seen, like really recently, is this girl. She's a oh, I think she I don't know if she's a single mom, but I know she's definitely a mom of like two really young kids. And she just got diagnosed with I think breast cancer. And she saw online of a way to cure it that doesn't use any radiation or chemo. Yeah. So she's taking like horse tranquilizer. Uh uh. And like everybody in the comments are like, no, this is stupid, don't do that, you're gonna die. And she's like, Don't worry, guys, I've done all my research. And yeah, like, so there's good to TikTok medicine, and then there's people like that. Yes. Well, and the And I try not to be judgmental, but if you have two small kids and there's a clear path to saving your life, and you're gonna listen to people with no medical right qualifications, right? I'm I'm gonna judge.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there are things that like you can try out. Like, for example, what I've been seeing recently is people are like, oh, you need to get more fiber in your diet. People are literally just drinking metamusle, which is something that I thought was for old people to help them go to the bathroom. Metamucil, isn't that it's fiber off medicine?
SPEAKER_01No. What am I thinking of? Robotussin? No, there's one that starts with an M. With the mucus?
SPEAKER_02Musinex. Nope, never mind. No, I did not know that. Yeah, because mucinex, like, it loosens all of your body's mucus, not just your snot, but your like cervical mucus. It makes it thinner.
SPEAKER_01Ew.
SPEAKER_02Helps you get pregnant. Yeah, a lot of people I learned that on TikTok.
SPEAKER_01Well, there you go.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_01Medical advice from TikTok over here. No, you wanna get pregnant. I don't start found in the cough syrup.
SPEAKER_02I don't I don't discredit science medicine at all. Like that's I believe in that, but like this metamusle versus because you could also just eat vegetables, you know? Yeah. So if people are drinking metamucle like every day, and uh the thing about that is that it's also not straight fiber, it has like orange coloring in it, and it has other things that are not just fiber. So there's better options out there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but also vegetables can be a little expensive. So for some people that's true, for some people who can't like afford to eat healthy metamusle could be a good alternative. I don't know how expensive metamucil is because obviously I don't even know what it is. I thought it was cough syrup until five minutes ago.
SPEAKER_02So it usually comes and this is I think I'm sure it comes in smaller bottles, but it every person that I've seen using it, it comes in like this big, like family-sized bottle. It is expensive, but I would imagine that that lasts a lot longer than vegetables. Probably. And you I mean you don't have to worry about it spoiling. So it's better than nothing. That's true, right? I'm not I'm not judging people who do this. I just thought it was a weird thing because I've been seeing a lot of it.
SPEAKER_01I think if you can afford vegetables, it probably makes more sense and is healthier to eat vegetables because I can't imagine um drinking that every day. I mean, it might be healthy. I don't know. I'm just some dumb bitch on the internet who knows nothing. You said that last week, too. I'm gonna say it every day while I say things out of my ass. I'm gonna say things with conviction, but I'm gonna tell you I did zero research on it. It's all about confidence. Exactly. I'm gonna say I'm gonna be like, it's not healthy to drink metamucle, but I also have zero idea what metamucil is, so maybe it is cough medicine. It is cough medicine with that green blob on the commercials.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_01Um then I just I feel like vegetables are natural, they have to be healthier than whatever metabusil is.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, and the other thing too is like there's other fiber supplements rather than metabusil. So like I know benefits. Flintstone gummies. Yep.
unknownFlintstone.
SPEAKER_02I were yours gummies? Flintstone gummies, yeah. Flintstone mine were like chalk.
SPEAKER_01Oh. I mean they have gummies too, but they also do have those like those are the ones I think. I used to take those when I was a kid. Yeah, maybe they didn't have gummies when we were kids.
SPEAKER_02No, yeah. I don't know. I don't know.
SPEAKER_0120 decades ago. No.
SPEAKER_02Um two decades ago.
unknownTwenty decades.
SPEAKER_02Another thing that I saw I've been seeing, and I had to look this up was something called water fasting. And I was like, what the actual hell does that even mean? It's just fasting.
SPEAKER_01But you're allowed to drink water?
SPEAKER_02Yes. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like fasting, you don't drink anything.
SPEAKER_02That's not true. You drink water. Like if you go for a blood straw and you're fasting, you can drink water.
SPEAKER_01That would be a water fast. Um, but like actual fasting, you don't eat or drink. Like during Ramadan, with when Muslims fast, they don't eat, they don't drink, they don't chew gum, they don't do anything like that. That's what a real fast is.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Well, I had to look it up, and um uh I guess that makes more sense now, but I was like, why don't they just call it fasting? You're just drinking water until it's time to eat. Intermittent fasting.
SPEAKER_01Which I think intermittent fasting, you can drink water. Like that type of fasting you can, but like a legit fast. You're not supposed to put anything in your stomach or your mouth.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01I feel like that's a great way to get dehydrated.
SPEAKER_02That's a great way to lose water weight. Yeah. Oh, that's true. That's true. I man, I don't know what's going on in my throat. Um, so intermittent fasting is actually great unintentionally how I lost a lot of weight. Probably like six or seven months before I met Jason, I was almost 300 pounds. And then I uh started working at Big B again, and I was on my feet a lot, so I was like more active. But I also would like I would get up at 5 a.m. to go onto my ship for 5 30, and then I would work until 11, 12, 1 and then most days my first meal was not until like 2 o'clock PM, other than coffee. So, and then when I did eat, it was just something fast that I picked up on my way home because I was also poor. So I would use whatever tips that I got, whatever tips I got that day to just get like I don't know, McDonald's or taco bowl, something fast, and then I would just go home and eat that, and then I also used to smoke a lot of wheat.
SPEAKER_01Okay, it's legal here, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Be proud. I would do that and then I would just go to sleep. So I lost weight, and that's not healthy. No, that is not a healthy way to lose weight.
SPEAKER_03Perfect.
SPEAKER_02Okay, we're back.
SPEAKER_01So I I will say that I went to the doctor after I had lost weight, so uh, in that entire time, sorry guys, we're laughing because we just paused uh because she kept hitting the screen thing. So we removed those immediately after she started hitting something else.
SPEAKER_02I talk with my hands. Um, so in that time span, I I lost almost 50 pounds. Awesome. Yeah, and right, that's what you would think. Again, not healthy, not do it that way. So I went to the house. It's just how my life was at that point in time. So I I went to the doctor after losing all that weight, and the first thing that she said to me, I always expected it to be like, Oh, congratulations, like you know, you lost all this weight, but the first thing she said was, Is everything okay? And I was like, that is like a the that's not what doctors would normally say, right? So I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I think a good doctor would say that if you lost an unhealthy amount of weight really quickly.
SPEAKER_02And that's that's what I would expect a doctor to say, but like what she said? No, no, no, that is what she said. It's what I would expect a doctor to say, but it's also what I know that doctors often don't say, yeah, in this point in time. But mine did.
SPEAKER_01A lot of doctors care more about the number on the scale than how you got there. Absolutely. And then until it becomes a problem. Did you know that again trigger warning for eating disorders? Because we just keep going back to that. Oh my god. Did you know that with um anorexia, you can't be diagnosed with anorexia unless you're underweight? No. So like if you're obese and you develop anorexia while trying to lose weight, you don't get that diagnosis until you hit until you're a certain weight. Yeah. Until you um are underweight. That's silly. Yeah, uh, they have a different word for it. Um, it's like atypical anorexia, I think it's called. Okay. Or they won't say that you have an eating disorder. They say you have disorder to eating. Like you don't get that diagnosis until you hit a certain weight.
SPEAKER_02I don't like that.
SPEAKER_01Me either. I learned that recently.
SPEAKER_02This episode is not gonna be eating disorders. It just happened to come up, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01We'll we'll behave this episode. We won't go down the dark path. That just the way like that just reminded me of that. And I think that is horrible and should be fixed. And it might be fixed. I don't know. I'm just a dumb bitch who says things.
SPEAKER_02That's gonna be your tagline. And when we have merch, it's going on a sweatshirt. So some of the other things that I saw just looking at random health things on TikTok, these are these are more fun.
SPEAKER_01These are not I'm gonna Google it while you look that up. Okay. Yep. Play. I was correct. I am a dumb bitch, but I wasn't a dumb bitch about that. You do have to be underweight to be um diagnosed with anorexia according to the DS. Um the mental health book that I just forgot the letters of ten seconds ago. Is it five? Yeah, I think so. Something like that. Dumb bitch. Anyway. But yes, you do have to be underweight, which is again stupid.
SPEAKER_02Stupid. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Continue. So in in the like on my for you page and all of the weird health things, I don't know how I started getting this stuff, but I have to It's because last week we sat here and talked about this stuff for an hour and now my entire the reason I learned about this is because my entire 4U page is just about eating disorders now.
SPEAKER_02Oh man. Okay, the government is listening.
SPEAKER_01So that's been super fun for my confidence. It's not that I wanna look like stick thin, but you know, yeah, and it wasn't.
SPEAKER_02It's not a healthy thing to be seeing everything. So but I think another reason that I'm seeing it is because of these viral ground beef bowls.
SPEAKER_00Those look so good though.
SPEAKER_02They are. I have to subscribe to that. So what I do is uh I do sweet potatoes, I do ground turkey because red meat, I can eat it, but there's um like colon cancer runs in my mom's side of the family, so I try not to eat it. Yeah, so I try not to eat a whole lot of red meat, but I love a steak. Um so sweet potato, ground turkey, um, I do cottage cheese and avocado.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I'm not gonna lie, yours sounds gross. Yeah, and um, I don't like cottage cheese. I don't like avocado, and I don't like sweet potatoes. I have loved beef with sweet potatoes.
SPEAKER_02I feel like beef your beef of the week.
SPEAKER_01It should be. It's not this week, but it should be. I don't think sweet potatoes should be called potatoes because they are nothing like potatoes and they are disgusting. Okay. They are sweet. Potatoes are not sweet, okay? They are more but they're sweet sweet potatoes. Anyways, I I don't like sweet potatoes or yams or whatever.
SPEAKER_02Sweet potato.
SPEAKER_01Um so good. But I don't like yams, isn't that weird? They're the same thing. Really? You don't like yams, but you like sweet potatoes aren't they the like same thing?
SPEAKER_02Literally the same thing. Well, I don't maybe it's just how they're prepared.
SPEAKER_01Maybe it's how they're prepared. That which wouldn't make sense why you like one and not the other. Okay, I'm gonna take back my judgment. Sorry about that.
unknownThank you.
SPEAKER_01If you judge somebody and you're incorrect, you should always take it back and apologize. Be the growth you want to see in the world.
SPEAKER_02So I feel like cottage cheese is a it's a it's a like you either love it or you don't. I love it.
SPEAKER_01I've tried to like it because it is healthy. Um, I just can't I can't get past it. I think it's a texture thing. I don't like the yucky.
SPEAKER_02That's how it is for a lot of people, I think. I was that way with avocado. I forced myself to like avocado. And I will not eat avocado plain. I can't have something in it.
SPEAKER_01The only way I will eat um avocado is in guacamole. And the only way I will eat guacamole is in a seven-layer dip. Or sushi. I will eat avocado and sushi, like a California roll. Uh, it's mixed. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So yeah. But I love the ground beef bowls, they're good. And you could do them anyway.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I've seen so many, and they all look so good. I've been seeing a lot of the ground beef bowls with um shrimp instead of ground beef, and that is more my I love shrimp. I just awesome shrimp. We can make shrimp bowls. I love shrimp. I feel like I have everything we need to make shrimp balls.
SPEAKER_02Yum.
SPEAKER_01Instead of you buying we should do that because I have to go get my nails done because one of them broke.
SPEAKER_02Yes. It's naked.
SPEAKER_01Crazy glue on nails. It works perfectly. These have been here for two weeks now, I think. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah. Don't use crazy glue on your nails. Don't be like me. I am lazy and I am a piece of trash.
SPEAKER_02Do you know what I learned about acrylic? Speaking of nails, I won't stay on this for too long. But um, remember how last week I was like, it's cement. And they put it on you. So I learned actually cement. It's not actually cement, but we were talking about how it's really bad for your real nails. Yeah. It's not actually the acrylic that's bad for your nails, it's the technique that the person who does your nails uses. Oh. Yeah, so if they're like filing your nail down and sanding it.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, I think I'm allergic to my makeup. It makes my nose run. My nose only runs when I have makeup on.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, maybe you are.
SPEAKER_01But I'd rather die. Sorry guys. I just laughed at people me out for wiping my nose, and I I I only have a runny nose when I have makeup on my face.
SPEAKER_02That's so weird. Yeah. Sorry. That's okay. Technique. Um yeah, so the technique that they use is what's bad for your nails. So it's like, yeah. So that's it. Okay. That's all I wanted to say. So ground beef balls.
SPEAKER_01So chaotic this episode.
SPEAKER_02I know. It's I was just thinking it's gonna be so interesting to see how you edit this because I wonder how much of that is actually gonna make it.
SPEAKER_01We will try to stay focused.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Um ground beef bowls, and then I saw people um are putting like the flavored water packets on like cucumbers or fruit, mixing it around, and then eating it. I haven't seen that. Yeah. That sounds I don't know how that's like the one that the one specifically that I saw was cucumbers, and then it was a sour apple Jolly Rancher water packet, and they mixed it together and ate it. And they said it was really good. I could see how that could be good for some people. Yeah. And then this one was really weird. I saw bananas with ground beef and cinnamon.
SPEAKER_01None of I'm ground beef and cinnamon are good. Yeah. Um bananas and ground beef sound gross. I hate bananas. Bananas and cinnamon sound good. No, I don't like bananas.
SPEAKER_02They give me heartburn.
SPEAKER_01Um, and banana's also a good source of fiber. No, that's potassium. Potassium.
SPEAKER_02They probably have some fiber.
SPEAKER_01I'm just a dumb bitch who says things. I feel like they have fiber.
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. I'm sure they have fiber because they're fruit. Always record this early.
SPEAKER_01Guys, we started recording so early. We decided to have a we decided to do a good thing and record before my daughter woke up. Yeah. And this is how we are in the morning.
SPEAKER_02But with the time change, like it's really supposed to be 8 a.m.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and she's been here since 7, which would have been like 6 a.m. yesterday.
SPEAKER_02Right. So it's different. Things are things are happening.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and we are not those people. Well, at least I'm not. I don't know if you are. I'm a morning person for sure. I'm a morning person, but like I'm not the person who like wakes up extra early to like work out or do anything. I try to wake up as late as possible. I I crave my sleep. So waking up this early was just yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It was extra hard today.
SPEAKER_01But it's okay. But it's we're here and we're insane.
SPEAKER_02So all of the TikTok medical advice is just like it has been wild lately. Did you have to make that noise?
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. I said burb, like what we used to say in Nicole's office.
SPEAKER_01When we used to work together, um, it was the four of us. It was me, Stephanie, Jeremy, who you guys have met in episode three. I think. I don't know. Four. I don't know. Um, one of those. It was three because four was the review. Oh, yeah. Um the one where our other friend. Well, that's because he talks so freaking loud. He doesn't watch these, so I don't care. Yeah. And even if he did, he talks so freaking loud. He does. He echoed on both of our microphones.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And obviously, I mean, you hear how loud we talk. So but our microphones are like noise canceling.
SPEAKER_01So he has had his noise canceling on. He was just loud. Yeah. And anyway, if we ever invite him back, which we will probably want. Actually, we're inviting him back for uh St. St. Patrick's Day. But we are gonna make him sit over there. Yes, he will not be up here in the room because he's loud. Um, anyway, what was I talking about? Burb. Oh yeah. So we used to work in the office together, and it was us three, and then our other friend Casey. And anytime any of us walked away from our computer, we'd just go burb, burb for BRB. So I just did that when I bent down.
SPEAKER_02And she did that in my office now because there's so many of us.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was great when it was just like the four of us in our tiny office.
SPEAKER_02That is the the perk of working where for the company that I did work for for a couple years was that it was always just one office. And um, like even when I moved away from the one that we worked at and went to my other one, it was still it was just me and two other people.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So that'll be nice. Yeah. And six months when I have my own, well, like six months to a year, I'll probably have it nice and small like that. Because that was fun, and that was just like such a great environment to work with. I know, and I'm gonna take Casey and Jeremy back. Oh, my goodness.
SPEAKER_02That I do love from TikTok though, is clean girl era. I I love the clean girl era girl TikTok. I will say that most of what I put in the notes this week was only to talk about my experience this week of having a mental breakdown. Okay, okay. It wasn't a true mental breakdown because I didn't like I wasn't psychotic, right?
SPEAKER_01So this it's a little dramatic, but you guys are gonna be just as surprised by me because I didn't do any topics this week. I left that all to Stephanie and I didn't read through them.
SPEAKER_02So And we're gonna talk about mental breakdowns and then some other fun things. So on Thursday, I wasn't really feeling good. I went to work for the first part of the day, and then I get went home for lunch, and then I was like, I don't feel good. So I stayed home for the rest of the day.
SPEAKER_01Which is good. And if you are having mental health issues, you should give yourself a break. Um, I know that's not possible for everybody because some people have horrible bosses and work for horrible companies who don't allow you to take care of your mental health first. But if you do have that option, you should take it.
SPEAKER_02Agreed. So yeah, I just decided to stay home for the rest of the day. I took a nap. I ended up waking up feeling worse. Um, and I don't know, um, for people who have been on like mental health medication, like I take anxiety medication, and one of the side effects for a lot of these medications is something called brain zaps. So it it feels exactly how it sounds, but a lot less scary. So it well, not really. It's kinda it's a scary feeling. It just like it feels like your brain like jumps for a minute. So I started having those, and uh I don't usually have those unless I forget to take medication. So I was like, what the heck is going on?
SPEAKER_01I I was on and off um like antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications for years, and I've never had this. I didn't know it was a side effect.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it happens. Well, I mean, I've heard of it happening with happening with things like Zoloft. It never happened to me when I was on Zoloft, but I do have a friend that it happens to if she forgets to take it on Zoloft. Anyway, so I was having those and I was like, what the heck is going on with me? And then Jason came home and I just absolutely broke down. I was like, and let me tell you, I I'm gonna end this story with recommending you have a breakdown uh every like once a month or whenever you feel like you need it, because uh it it was just great. So and but it can't be pretty, but it has to be like I was sobbing, like gasping for air. That's not like you know, it has to be ugly. And then the next day I woke up and the clarity that I felt was incredible. I woke up and I like suddenly knew exactly what I needed to do to make myself feel better. I knew exactly what I was missing, I knew exactly, and that's where I came into clean girl era. Like I woke up and I suddenly didn't want to put as much product on my face. I didn't want to like I wanted to exfoliate and I wanted to feel like clean and I even changed my shampoo.
SPEAKER_01I always get that way, like right after my mental breakdown. I'm just like, I need to just reset cleanse, yeah, it's like all of that energy just needs to be gone.
SPEAKER_02And I think that that ultimately is why I had brain taps. I think my body was just in a fight response for so long. Ever since we started doing this podcast, I'm not gonna lie, I've been stressed, and it's not because of the podcast, it's just because I'm not used to doing so much and you know, committing myself to so much and uh all of the issues we ran into and like the long days and the you know, everything that coupled with uh being stressed at work, trying to do my best, being still pretty new at the office and wanting to, you know, prove myself, and then planning a wedding, and then managing a social life, and like it just it's so much, it is you know, it is so much, and everybody has their own limits, right? Yeah, so I don't know. It was a good mental breakdown.
SPEAKER_01I like to have my mental breakdowns in the shower for that reason. Oh, yeah, that's a good idea.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so that that was the whole point of most of my notes, was and it will tie into I'm gonna talk about the blood moon next, but um yeah, clean girl TikTok is like my favorite thing.
SPEAKER_01I I like clean girl tick tock. I like I like um like those TikToks where they teach you how to clean. Like I don't judge me before I didn't know you were supposed to mop your walls until TikTok. I didn't either. Yeah. And it's it changed my life. It smells so good when I do that. And then I started lighting candles after I cleaned, and I just I don't know. I I like the tips I get from TikTok, from clean girl tick tock. I feel like I wish TikTok was better at being universal though, because I feel like when I'm in clean girl TikTok, that's all I see. When I'm in Epstein TikTok, that's all I see. Now I'm on eating disorder tick tock trigger warning. That's all I'm getting. Like I wish it would show me little bits of everything I like, not that I liked that stuff. Yeah, like I hope that I keep scrolling past it and it'll just like realize. But I don't want to do that to them.
SPEAKER_02Oh you're so nice.
SPEAKER_01Like, I don't want to hide their contact because there's probably girls who it would benefit, and I don't want to make TikTok think that that's not like something that easily shown. Okay, so I just scroll past it and let them know that's not something I'm interested in. That's good. That's but yeah, I wish uh TikTok would just be like would show you little bits of everything every day rather than you being bombarded with just like one type of thing. All at once. Yeah. Yeah, I agree with that.
SPEAKER_02My um I haven't seen a cleaning video in a long time. Hopefully, my TikTok, after the research I did last night, hopefully it'll be more astrology and witchy stuff. Because that's my next topic.
SPEAKER_01Nice. I tried to get into astrology for a long time, but I just have never been into it. Um, like that one of my New Year's resol uh resolutions I told you this was to become more spiritual. That hasn't worked. I've made zero changes. It's kind of hard to get into. Um I've like followed witchy girls. Um but I just I and I followed them, but they never show up on my for you page, so I kind of forget about it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I wouldn't say that I'm like so astrology is just like a level of of what I'm interested in. I'm more interested in spirituality. Crystals are my thing. I like those.
SPEAKER_01Um I want to be more introverted. I read tarot cards, like I have my tarot cards right next to me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I used to do readings for people.
SPEAKER_01They're under my dog food.
SPEAKER_02People paid me to do tarot readings.
SPEAKER_01Under my dog food. I have a bag of dog treats on them, which I didn't mean to do, but they are there. I just noticed that when I looked over.
SPEAKER_02Puppy life. Always gotta have treats.
SPEAKER_01Everywhere. So can you scroll?
SPEAKER_02But you said the people used to pay you to do tarot? People did used to pay me to do tarot readings, yeah. And I uh so I haven't really been into it recently, so I'm probably not I'm a little rusty, probably.
SPEAKER_01Do you remember? Sorry, I don't mean to cut you off. But do you remember when we used to have um that guy? I'm not gonna say his name, although he doesn't watch us, so it doesn't matter. Um the guy who used to work with us, that 18-year-old. Oh, I know. I knew who you were talking about. And he was very was he Catholic?
SPEAKER_02I think so. I think so.
SPEAKER_01He was very, very Catholic, very religious. Um, you know exactly the type that we're talking about, and he used to be very against hero, he used to be very against anything that wasn't Catholic, including women, anybody of color. Um so at the office, it was at that point, because Jeremy left at that point. Yeah, so it was just three girls and him. It was me, Stephanie, Casey, and him.
SPEAKER_02And then eventually it was just you, me, and him.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because Casey left while he was there before he left. Oh interesting. And he made a lot of not so great comments and didn't listen to us when we told him why his comments were not so great. Yeah, and we were never saying like you're wrong about your religion because we are we would just be like, hey, what you're saying is racist, or hey, what you're saying is misogynistic. Let's say it in a different way that's you know not hateful. And he would just argue and say that what he was saying wasn't hateful, it was just what he believed, which um then you can believe that, but not in a professional setting with women. But the what he was saying had nothing to do with religion, true, he would just say awful things. True.
SPEAKER_02This is true.
SPEAKER_01So we were a little mean and we had a tarot party where because me, Stephanie, and Casey all had tarot cards. We all brought our tarot cards in and just did readings on each other, and he had to leave the building.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry, he deserved it though.
SPEAKER_01He did, he did.
SPEAKER_02It's not like he was a good person, right?
SPEAKER_01Like he like when we say, because I don't want you guys to think we were bullying this 18-year-old. No, no, no. We had a um, we live not lived, we worked by a university, and our university had a lot of foreign exchange students. So there were people from all over the world who would come to our office for insurance. Um, and what I'm thinking about specifically is this one Asian lady who came in, she couldn't really speak English. She was probably the same age as him. She was probably like 18, 19, here for college, trying to get renter's insurance for her apartment that she was renting. Happens all the time. Yeah. Every day. Um, and she was like, she needed him to explain to him like what coverage he was getting, and he would just be like, You give us little money, we give you lots of money when you break things. Like, I had to get up and I had to be like, I I picked her up and took her to my desk because it was so insensitive. And like it would be that thing. And then when I would be like, You can't talk to people like that, he'd be like, Well, she just didn't know what I was talking about.
SPEAKER_02I was just trying to help her understand.
SPEAKER_01It's like, okay, no, you weren't. You were. Talking to her like a child. And first of all, what you were saying wasn't even correct.
SPEAKER_02Like that's not how it works. We don't even understand the coverage.
SPEAKER_00He thinks it's not even covered.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, anyway, we had a tarot party. So that just reminded me of when we had the tarot party and scared him out of the building. Yes. He like didn't even just leave our office. He left the entire building. Like the vicinity. Yeah, and then like got in his car and drove away because he didn't want it to bring the bad Jew Ju. That was funny. We did a lot of mean things to him. Only after he started doing that stuff, and our boss wouldn't fire him. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, that's the other thing is like we didn't just, you know, go untattletale. Like we definitely brought our concerns to the to mean.
SPEAKER_01So I think a little bit after the tarot party is when Casey left, and then I became the office manager. And then when I was the manager, I was like, this kid needs to leave.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like he sucks. We didn't even want to hire him. We yeah, we said from the very beginning he wouldn't fit in, but our boss was, I wouldn't say in love with him. He's gonna be a prodigy. But she was infatuated with him. Yeah. Um yeah, and we kept telling her all of this stuff that we didn't like him, that we wanted him gone. And when I was the office manager, I kept telling her all the things that I would see and say, and Casey would too when she was the office manager. But when I then it became my responsibility to teach him how to be a decent person. I just when you're not a decent person and you've been raised that what you believe is true and that woman and then what women say isn't as important as valued as what a man says, it's like talking to a brick wall. Nothing you say matters. Like I'm a person of color and I'm a woman. I was so far beneath him in his mind that it didn't matter what I said. Yeah. And it it like even when what I was saying was just like be decent, yeah, be nice, yeah. Don't talk about me and your co-workers the way you do. Right. Don't be racist. And then and he knew he wouldn't get in trouble for it because our boss backed him up, who was a woman, by the way. So it was it was just not a fun he was only there for a few months, but it was not a fun few months.
SPEAKER_02No, it was it was not not fun at all. I was just thinking about how interesting it is that we're doing this podcast because when we worked together, I mean, we got along for the most part, but there would be times where, like, I mean, me in particular, I would be like, why are you talking to me this way? Like, you were my manager, right? So you were just being a manager, but there were some days at that office where I was just like, I'm doing my job, and that is the minimum.
SPEAKER_00But it wasn't the minimum.
SPEAKER_02With I understand that. Hindsight is 2020.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02I understand that now. But it's just I get it.
SPEAKER_01I'm glad that we that's why I'm not hiring you when I get my new office.
SPEAKER_02I don't think that's why.
SPEAKER_01What?
SPEAKER_02I don't think that's all the reason why.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's because we are working together. Yeah. Like I and I didn't mean your job performers, you were a good worker. I just meant like, I don't think we'd be able to do this podcast together if I was your boss. Yeah, there's too much. And that is the reason why. Yes. I sorry, I that sounded bad.
SPEAKER_02We don't have to air that if you don't want to, but I don't care.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't care either. But that would be why, because I don't think we'd be able to do this podcast while I work with you. We're both very sensitive. And when and when I talk to you about things as a manager, you would take it to heart because we're friends. Because we're friends, yeah. Exactly. Like if I was just a manager, I knew you wouldn't react the way you do. Right. Um, and then the way you would respond to me telling you what to do as a manager was responding to that way to a friend. A friend, yeah, which isn't okay.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_01Because there'd be times where you yelled at me, and then I would I knew why you were doing it because again, we were best friends. Right, right. But then everyone in the office would be like, Oh, she just talked to you, and I'd be like, Oh, I have to be a manager right now and represent her, even though I know why like it would be just well, and also like We knew the way we knew what we were saying to you.
SPEAKER_02Most of the time I would like it would be 10 minutes, and then I would come in and I would be like, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like we knew what we were doing and what what we were saying, but we also had to act professionally in a way, and for one of us, it was a little bit harder than the other person. Okay, because one of us is a little bit more sensitive than the other person when it comes to that, yes. So that just yeah, don't be friends with your manager, is what we're saying. It worked for us because that only happened a little bit because we knew how to talk to each other, but there were just days where one of us was overwhelmed, yeah, and then when even the smallest correction just felt like an attack to them, and then they would go on the attack back, yes, which again I would understand when she did that, but when it usually happened, we were a very small office and we didn't have offices, like I had my own office because I was the manager, but my I always left my door open, right? So anything that happened between us was just public, it was air, it was it was out there open tea, yes. So whereas I didn't take it personally, we were all very close in the office, so people would take it personally for me. Yeah, so then I was like handling other people and my job and her, and it was just fun.
SPEAKER_02It was fun, it was awesome, it was also coming towards the end of me working at that office too, and by the end of us working there, like again.
SPEAKER_01No hate towards your old boss. I love her. I love her. Um, there was just some issues by the end. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Where just so much had happened.
SPEAKER_01It was all good that we all laughed. Yes. Yes. Is the thing is the way I'm gonna say it. Yes.
SPEAKER_02So, anyway, spiders on Mars. I saw that. What the hell does that mean? Okay, so it's a little misleading. I put that in there on purpose for you to be like, there's spiders on Mars.
SPEAKER_01So that's how I am. I know. Did you know on Neptune it rains diamonds? Yes. That became my favorite planet when I said that. Sorry, continue.
SPEAKER_02That's okay. So NASA just released a photo of their like web-like structures on Mars.
SPEAKER_01And I'm gonna Google it. I'm back, and I have Googled these pictures, and I gotta say, I am not impressed. I was expecting more by web-like your um by your teaser. Well, yeah, that's why it's a teaser. So it kind of looks like you zoomed really close on dirt. Like if you had just showed me the picture that she's about to talk about, it would I would I would just believe it was dirt on Mars. And that's basically what it is.
SPEAKER_02So oh, they released it as kind of like a teaser too. So um it's not caused by giant Martian spiders. Basically, what it is is um back like billions of years ago when Mars had water. It's evidence that there was water on Mars. Oh it's it was um they're created by the water flowing, and the um thought is that there was so much like sulfates in it that it created these um web-like structures. And those are also that's like a flattened version, those are like three to six miles high, so they're mountains.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I did not realize that. Yeah, the way it was like circled and it looked like it was like zoomed really close in.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Those are like mountains. So I I thought that was kind of fun, but it also brought me back to-I know they're like six and seven feet tall.
SPEAKER_01I am a lot more impressed by them. Yeah, I thought they were like inches.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_02So that brought me into um that's what brought me into the uh astrology and like the blood moon, because the blood moon eclipse happened this week, this past week. Oh darn. The second and third.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02I wish you'd told me.
SPEAKER_01I would have fallen asleep before I looked at it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was coming home from your house on Tuesday night, and you saw it? I saw it. Yeah, it didn't look red or anything like that because it was just starting, but it was it was a full moon.
SPEAKER_01So I didn't really pay attention to the moon and that kind of stuff. I bought I love the moon. Every time I see her, I say, Hi, beautiful. No, I didn't buy my daughter. Somebody bought my daughter a telescope for her Oh, that's cool. For a holiday for her birthday. For so and we have used it exactly one time, and that was to set it up during the day, and we just never used it since then.
SPEAKER_03Perfect.
SPEAKER_01I thought it would be really cool because I thought, hey, I would love to look at that kind of stuff, and then we just never did that's always how it goes.
SPEAKER_02You're like, this would be so cool, and then you buy the thing and then you never use it. Yeah. Just a human experience. But that brought me into my astrology TikTok because I uh read something also this week about like what it means to be on your cycle during the blood moon, and I happen to be on my cycle during the blood moon. I don't have a cycle.
SPEAKER_01So I mean, I know I have one, I just don't since I don't bleed, I don't care. Right, right, right. So I just know if I'm crying, I'm probably on it.
SPEAKER_02Right. We used to have hormonal fluctuations, exactly.
SPEAKER_01That's why I'm like, if I'm crying, I'm probably on it.
SPEAKER_02Right, yeah, right. So um the first thing that I saw before that though was like how it affects each sign.
SPEAKER_01What is your sign?
SPEAKER_02Cancer. Cancer. That makes sense. Like, yeah, it does. I cry a lot. Say as I know nothing about any sign. You're Sag, right? No. Are you still Scorpio? No. Are you Capricorn?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02What? Oh, you're at the end end of December. I am the day before the last day. December 30th. Okay. That makes sense. Capricorn. And my friend Mary's birthday is the 22nd. She's Capricorn too. Okay, that makes a lot more sense because last night when I was reading these, I was like, Mouse is Sagittarius, but that doesn't make sense to me.
SPEAKER_01So my daughter is a Taurus.
SPEAKER_02Is that how you pronounce it? Yes. Okay. Taurus, really.
SPEAKER_01April 22nd. I mean, she's only six. She is six, so I don't think any of it matters for her.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Maybe it does. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I mean, there's a dumb bitch who says things. So this blood moon, in case y'all are curious, for Virgos and Capricorns or Earth signs, we have practical shifts in routines, health, and career structures. That's what you're gonna notice. Okay. For air and fire signs, so Gemini, Sagittarius. Does that mean I'm gonna have a shift in routine health or careers? Yes. So that's what this blood moon is going to bring for you the next month. So is it this month? No, or like the month coming up. This, so from March 2nd and 3rd until April 2nd and 3rd.
SPEAKER_01Oh, well, I did have a career shift. Yeah, look at that. And a routine sh not really. I guess a routine shift. I will have one when I start my new job. Right. Hopefully.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I need money.
SPEAKER_02Um so Gemini and Sagittarius, sudden insights, communication breakthroughs, and travel opportunities. You're right, that doesn't fit me. And that right. And then water signs, so cancer, Pisces, Scorpio, emotional releases, spiritual awakenings, and psychic sensitivity. That's you every day. Yes, but remember that I had a mental breakdown this week. Emotional releases, yes. And then Taurus, fixed Earth, um, financial revelations, relationship stability, and value realignment.
SPEAKER_01Well, hopefully she does have some value realignment. We are working currently on that right now. Oh my gosh. And the financial reevaluations, hopefully she can start pulling her weight around here.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's so funny. So this blood moon is in the house of Virgo, um, which is really trying to does that mean people who are Virgo feel it more? Yes. Okay.
SPEAKER_01I those are genuine questions.
SPEAKER_02I don't know anything. Virgos are very like no nonsense, very structured. Uh my sister's a Virgo, so she makes a lot of lists. Um maybe we should put her in charge. Oh, yeah. She as soon as I got engaged, she was like, tell me when I need to start making lists. She's maid of honor. So oh, is that gonna be your beef of the week?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, in case you guys were wondering, I am not her maid of honor or a bridesmaid.
SPEAKER_02Listen, I'm not having uh bridesmaids in my wedding party. Okay. I have a maid of honor, and then Jason has a best man, and Jason's best man has a wife. So that is not me. Anyway.
SPEAKER_01I'm just joking.
SPEAKER_02I'm just giving her shit. I uh if you I mean, listen, you're not technically a bridemaid, but if you want to show up and you happen to be wearing the same color dress as no, I'm not gonna make your wedding about me.
SPEAKER_01I will be there, I will happily be sitting at my singles table. It is okay.
SPEAKER_02I just like to mess with her, guys. Sorry. It's so easy to because again, I take things for a squeeze.
SPEAKER_01And I don't ever, so it's just kind of like I'm just over here like, no, you are valuable.
SPEAKER_02Like, I know, bitch. I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_01The way I talk to Stephanie and the way I talk to Jeremy are just so funny because Jeremy understands that he could say things back to me and I won't take it personally. And then Stephanie's over here like, no, it's okay.
SPEAKER_02I'm a cancer. What can I say? So as far as the like bleeding cycles, I went on to I went on to learn that there are actually like and none of this is science-based, right? This is just like if you follow astrology, isn't science-based? Astrology is sort of it's mathematical, which makes it a little scientific, but I almost said scientifical. Makes it a little scientific, but it's not like there's no merit, right? So a red witch cycle is if you are on your menstrual cycle during a full moon, um, which signifies heightened intuition, emotional fortitude, and a call to serve others.
SPEAKER_01I'm surprised that all women don't get their period during the full moon.
SPEAKER_02I just feel like that that aligns perfectly. Yeah. Well, that's actually why I find this so interesting because uh I work in an office full of women. Like there are no men except for the producers that work there. Oh and I mean we have female producers too, but the only people who are working service are female. And uh this past week, I am not even kidding you. I would bet half of us were synced up.
SPEAKER_01I hear that happens. I hear your vagina smell each other and synced up. I'm just a dumb bitch who smells like a dog. Like what's what I heard. I I remember learning about this when I was in high school because me and my friends would go like, oh, let's smell each other and get single. I love that for you.
SPEAKER_00I can't believe I this is my favorite part of a podcast. Remember that happening. Yes.
SPEAKER_01I didn't know research to see if that was true or not. I'm just a dumb bitch who says things, but I do remember rubbing my vagina on other people trying to get it to smell them.
SPEAKER_02So hilarious. What an experience it is to be a girl. So the white witch cycle is bleeding during a new moon, okay. Um, which emphasizes nurturing, strategic intention setting, and birthing new ideas. And then the blood moon eclipse amplifies transformation, shadow work, and alignment with cosmic cycles. So I just thought that that was interesting.
SPEAKER_01I have zero idea what any of those words mean.
SPEAKER_02Transformation.
SPEAKER_01Uh blood moon eclipse, white witch, red witch.
SPEAKER_02Okay, those are just the names. Forget the names, uh, except Blood Moon. Blood Moon eclipse is when That's the Blood Moon that we just had.
SPEAKER_01So, but an eclipse is when the moon goes in front of the sun.
SPEAKER_02Yes. So in this instance, the sun goes in front of the moon and it illuminates it red. Oh, cool. Okay. Yeah, so that's what the the blood moon is. A new moon is when there's like no moon.
SPEAKER_01That's not a name of a Twilight book, sorry.
SPEAKER_02New moon?
SPEAKER_01It is. No blood moon. Oh I thought for a second I was like, Blood Moon Eclipse, that sounds so familiar. And I just went through all of the Twilight books. That is not any of them. Eclipses, right? Eclipses, new moon is um, and then one of them has the word blood, but I don't remember which one. Uh, I mean, I know which one it was um Edward's book, but I can't remember what it's called. I have them all right there. But can you see Midnight Sun? It was not called blood. It is not called blood. My bad, guys.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, I just thought that would be an interesting thing if people want to look up, like, you know, what what moon phase it is when you're on your cycle. This one's for the girls.
SPEAKER_01And let us know what your sign is, and we will do your oh, you know what? Let us know what your sign is, and next week we'll read your horoscope.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. That would be so fun. That would be so fun. Yes, you can comment on any of our posts. Yeah. Or email us. I can put our email on our TikTok. Okay. Yeah, you can email us too. That'd be so fun. I know for a fact, well, I hope one person is gonna do it. We have we have a consistent listener. Shout out Marina. I went to high school with her. Oh yeah. Oh, is she the one who texted you the other day? Yeah, she messaged me and told me her Valentine or not necessarily Valentine's, but she told me her like dating horror story.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh, we should have read it today. Yeah, we should have. I bet after everything we cut, we have time.
SPEAKER_02I'm sure we do. If if you give me my phone, I'll read it.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Um so I just thought it would be fun to to share that. I am into astrological things. I think it's interesting.
SPEAKER_01I want to become more in tune with it. So if you guys start doing that, that would help me too. Yeah. Like if you guys start sending your horoscopes and stuff.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that'd be so fun. And I could even like I could pull a tarot card every day. Ooh. That could be um a Patreon thing. It could. It could be a Patreon thing. Pay us five dollars a month, and I will give you a reading. I'll give you a past, present, future.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that could be fun. Yeah. For five dollars.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Cool. I will add that to the Patreon. We can even use my pretty tarot. No, last time you gave me a reading on my own tarot cards, they were so mean to me. I don't think it matters what tarot deck you use. The spirits and my tarot were on something that day that you read me. It's true. But they're so mean to me. They were like, you're gonna die alone. I think they literally told me that. One time. That was two years ago, and I'm still singles, though. So I'm not wrong yet.
SPEAKER_02You're not run, yeah. One time um I did a tarot reading for like a group. Um, so I did one for one of my friends at Big B, and then she was like, You have to come do it for like all of my family. I read like 10 different people in this. I was so scared because I still like even though I'm into it and I do believe in it, it still freaks me out sometimes. Yeah. When I'm right. So I did this tarot reading on this woman, and I have never experienced This since I as soon as I started reading her, I got so sad, like I started crying. Oh, and I was like, I'm so sorry that I'm so emotional. But whatever you have been through is something that nobody should have to feel. And I'm so sorry. And that was before I even started the reading. And so I did the reading and it was all about like it was very much about grief and grieving and um moving on from that and learning how to continue after such a huge loss. And I didn't learn until a few days later that she her daughter passed away. And that it still gives me chills thinking about it because I felt it. Like it was so sad. Um, but also towards the end of it, I could feel like the the transformation and the moving forward, and yeah, it was crazy. And then a not so deep one, I also read for a couple of my friends, and I was like, these people never wanted to have kids. Okay. So the reading that I did for them, I was like, I'm so sorry to tell you this. Y'all are gonna have a kid, like you, you guys are gonna have a baby. Did they have one? Literally a year later, they had a son.
unknownAww.
SPEAKER_01So hopefully they were happy about it. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, okay. Yes. He is here and beautiful and yay! Yes.
SPEAKER_01I've never done a reading for strangers. I do them um for like friends and family, and I haven't been wrong yet, but I also don't do them often, and if I don't feel it, I won't do like I'm not gonna force myself to do it. Yeah, because I feel like that's just messing with things and inviting yes things in.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So if I feel it, I'll do it, but I don't do them very often, and I've never been paid to do them. Yeah. But what I have done has always been like scary, accurate. Yeah. And and because of that, I don't like doing them. I know because I'm I'm like one so far, thank goodness, it's all been like pretty okay. But I know one day I'm gonna get a bad reading, and I don't wanna be the person who says it.
SPEAKER_02So mostly I just do readings on myself. Yeah. Well, here's the thing is reading tarot is mostly intuition. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it's getting into a place I mean you both have like really good intuition. Yes, yes, and it it's except for men I date.
SPEAKER_02It's about getting into a space where you feel everything except yourself, yeah. You know, which is hard because you're a person with feelings, and that's why I was so afraid to do this group reading because I did not know these people. Yeah. Uh when I do readings on my friends, there is, no matter what you say, there is a little bit of bias behind it because you know the person, right?
SPEAKER_01But I think that's not necessarily a bad thing either. Because when you pull a card, a card could have so many different meanings, and you knowing this person like helps you know which meaning applies to them. Yes. That's true.
SPEAKER_02That's true. Yeah, you always offer a different perspective, make me think different things.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02So, yeah, that would be fun. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_01All right, look at that. Um, I will probably not do terror readings for you guys just because again, I don't like I I'm not the type of person who can give you bad news. Um, she's a lot more sensitive than me. I will tell you how it is and then cry about it later.
SPEAKER_02I'll give you bad news if this is.
SPEAKER_01And she'll cry about you with you. Yes. I will tell you straight up because I don't like to sugarcoat things because I've had people sugarcoat things my entire life, and I hate it when I find out like what it actually is. Like, I want to be hit with the bad news all at once. I don't want to be like, it's like this, and then like it's actually kind of more like this, and then it's actually kind of more like like I just I don't like that either. Because you it's like getting bad news over and over and over again. Like, just tell me how it is. So that's how I tell people, and I know some people don't like that, but I'm very much like uh treat me how I would treat you. Yeah, and I do that, so I treat you how I would want you to treat me. I know some like I know with her, she's more like a kind of sugar coated. So I do tell her things, but I still tell you the way it is, but like a little yeah, yeah. Since I don't know how you guys are, I'm not giving you guys bad news. I'll let her do it because she's sensitive. Yeah, and I got this. Yes, I got this. So she'll do it. I'll just sit quietly with my pretty tarot cards. People bring them out, they're so pretty. Hold on. People used to um I was giving myself a rating the other day. That's why they're right next to me.
SPEAKER_02And they do people still do. They're so pretty. They are pretty.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01They are really pretty.
SPEAKER_02Do you have are there big ones too?
SPEAKER_01What do you mean by one? Oh no, that's the book. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Which I still use because I've been doing these. Which one did you pull? The star. This is my my signal card. Look at that! Like whenever I do a reading, this is the star is the card that I always look for to see if I'm on the right track. Crazy! You are crazy.
SPEAKER_01See, tarot helps everyone.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's also what I was gonna say is that it doesn't necessarily matter if it's real or not. Sometimes it's about just someone hearing you and understanding you.
SPEAKER_01I feel like that is all faith is, not to like downplay um religion, but everybody thinks their religion is like the one true religion. Nobody really knows what it is till after it's too late to do anything about it. Right. Um, but it makes you feel comforted, it makes you feel safe to have it. Some people have God, some people have Allah, some people have Buddhist, some people have tarot. And we shouldn't yuck anybody's yum. And not saying that if you have tarot, you don't have the other things because you can be religious and also use tarot cards. Yes. I know a lot of religious people who read tarot. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I there's nothing wrong with that. I think it's it's all at the end of the day, it's the same thing. It's just giving someone, it's giving people something to believe in.
SPEAKER_01I feel like everybody should have faith in something, whether it be God, whether it be spirituality, whether it be that we Okay, sorry, my phone ran out of memory. Um what are we talking about?
SPEAKER_02Um, we were talking about geez, tarot, spirituality, just having something to believe in.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01That it's really important to have something to believe in so you don't feel so alone in a world that is so horrible sometimes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Which is also why we did this podcast. Yeah. And speaking of that, I think it would be really fun. We said earlier in the podcast that it would be awesome if you guys like share your sign, and then we can do like a little we can read your um horoscope and tarot. Yeah um well, you were gonna do the tarot for Patreon. And then if you just send us what your sign is, we'll we'll read your horoscope.
SPEAKER_01We'll read your horoscope. Ooh, it would be really funny if I read it because I have nothing to do with it, and then you can actually tell me what all of it means.
SPEAKER_02I'll decipher it.
SPEAKER_01Yes, okay, that's what we will do.
SPEAKER_02So uh I think it would just be fun in general uh to start like a little segment of like if if you guys have a story or reaction to something that we've said in the episodes, send it to us because I got a message from one of our listeners. She's listened to every episode. Um I want to shout out Marina. Yes, Marina. We did. So I just messaged her and asked her if I could share what story she sent to me. So it was after the Valentine's episode, which was our episode number two. Yes. So go back and listen if you have two girls, one Valentine. Yes. So she messaged me and she said, I love the pod. I listen on my drive to work, and it's like chatting with my besties. Eloh currently cracking up at the pickup lines. One time at the bar, a guy asked, Can I take you out for sex and pizza? And I said, No, obviously. And he goes, Oh, you don't like pizza? She said, I still didn't go out with him, but it was funny. So I thought that was so fun and awesome because that's exactly what we did this podcast for.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we we I don't know if we ever talked about why we actually started the podcast.
SPEAKER_02We did a little bit in the first episode, but really it was just for that exact reason we want you guys to feel like you're just talking to your besties on the way to work, or if you're just sitting in your room, or we both were kind of in like a dark time because something that we talked about like last week, how it was kind of bad news after bad news in the world, and there was no way for us to get away from it because our entire for you page is about it. You literally can't get away from it, it's everywhere, no matter what social media you're on.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. And so we were like, we want to the only like bright place that we had was each other, and we're like, well, we want other people to have this bright place.
SPEAKER_02Not that we're like amazing, but but we're kind of funny and we make light.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and we make light of dark situations. Um, and some people just which is fine. Like, there's some people who don't know how to not talk about what's going on in the world, and I have that issue too, as you guys have seen, where like bad things are happening and it they deserve to be talked about and they should be talked about, but that's also not what you want your in like 24 hours of your brain to be just like thrown at, thrown with, whatever the phrase is. Right. So we decided to do this just as like a place for you guys to get away from the darkness, yeah. Before you get back into the darkness, because it's still very important to stay informed, to stay vocal about all of the bad things that you see to try to put a stop to it. But it's just like an hour break from the world. Yeah. Hopefully, you guys feel that with us too. Yes.
SPEAKER_02So thank you. Thanks, Marina, for sharing that.
SPEAKER_01And like I said, we've had a couple of people now have said that they listen to us, and it just feels like bestie's talking to them.
SPEAKER_02So that makes me so happy. Yeah. Even what we wanted. Even if this only ever reaches the 100 people that it has.
SPEAKER_01We are at 120. No, 131 as of yesterday. Oh my gosh. My phone is over there, and I'm the one who tracks it. That's so exciting. Yes, 131. So ooh, I have a giant hole in these pants. Oh, I forgot I just felt my not felt myself, but felt my hole in my pants when I shoved my hand in my thighs. Like I said, I'm a trash person.
SPEAKER_02I don't know what to tell you guys. Um, so yeah, comment um on any of our social media. You can email us. Um, you're gonna post the link.
SPEAKER_01We don't really have that many DMs right now. Um, so you guys, so instead of commenting, if you guys don't want it to be that public, just DM us on Instagram, TikTok. I'm gonna put our um well, it will be there by the time this plays. Our email will be in our TikTok bio. Okay. So you can DM us or email us and tell us.
SPEAKER_02And if you don't want, I mean, we'll share your story and not your name. So if you don't want your name shared, just tell us. Just tell us what you want.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, tell us what name we want shared. If you don't want a name, just say anonymous. Um, give us your pronouns and we'll read your stories. We'll read it. If your name is more like my name than like Stephanie's name, give us a pronunciation guide. Pronunciation guide. Yes, please. Thank you. And then if we pronounce your name wrong, which it could be easy and we'll still pronounce it wrong, DM us back and let me know, and then I will correct it in the next episode. Yes.
SPEAKER_02That'd be so fun. I'm so excited. I hope people do it.
SPEAKER_01I hope so too. Um, my beef of the week just changed this morning. My beef of the week as of this morning is earrings. So while I was getting ready for this podcast, forgetting that we wear giant headphones and it I've been in pain this entire episode because my ear, the back of my earring has been stabbing me. But this is the second pair of earrings I put in this morning because my first pair, when I was putting in the back of it, I I don't know what I did, but I like scared myself. You know how sometimes you feel your hair on your arm and you think it's a spider? Yes. I did that while putting my earring in and it snapped. So the front, not the back of it, the front of my earring fell off in my hand while it was still in my ear. What the heck? So I had just the stick inside my ear and then the back of it on my ear. So I couldn't get it out because the front had like it, like the metal broke off. So there was like a up and down stick, and then the stick, so I couldn't pull it out from this end, but I had nothing to hold onto this and to take the back off. Hey guys, we are back again. My phone ran out of memory again, so that's fun. Um hopefully one day we will make enough money doing this that we can buy a phone just for this so it doesn't run out of memory. Or a camera. Or a camera that would be smarter, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So you spent a lot of time trying to get that post out of your ear.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So it happened like 10 minutes after you said that you were on your way, and I was like, oh, thank goodness she'll be here to help. And I like couldn't grab onto it because it was only like a small portion of it that was in the front, and then like the whole back, but the back thing was pressed up against my knee, my ear, so I had no leverage, and I had no leverage on the front either because it was tiny. Right. And then I thought, and I was like, no, your nails are even longer than mine, you're not gonna have to be leverage either. Yeah, and then I remembered that tweezers existed, yeah, and not only do they exist, but I had one two feet away from me because I was in the bathroom when this was happening. You always forget what you have like when you're in panic mode. Yes, yeah, yeah. So after 20 minutes of like crying and figuring it out, I was able to get the earring out of my ear. It is in the trash now, but that did scare me because I thought I was gonna have you take me to the hospital to get an earring out of my ear, which would have been so embarrassing.
SPEAKER_02I would have gotten like some pliers or something. We would have figured it out.
SPEAKER_01Our asses would have used pliers instead of tweezers. Yep. If I hadn't seen them, because they were like on the top of my sink, which is why I saw them and I was like, oh yeah, tweezers. That's funny. If they hadn't been there, I would have forgotten they existed. And we probably would have used actually we wouldn't have used pliers because I have no idea.
unknownYeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, wait, I have mini ones on um, I have like a Swiss Army knife, but with tools. Oh yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like a multi-tool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Cool. My beef of the week is people who get in the fast lane and still drive slow. In my opinion, the fast lane on the highway is for people who want to do crime. Like actual crime. Like I'm talking 80 plus.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02You do not get in the fast lane and choose to stay in that lane. If you're just passing a truck, that's fine. Yeah. But you get back over so that the rest of us can continue our crime laden lives. Because I'm trying to get places, okay? And I'm on the highway, I want to go fast. Yeah. I don't when I I used to use drive safe and safe, which um, because I have insurance through State Farm. So I used to use drive safe and safe, and you can only go like seven miles over without the speed limit. I did learn that. I read the rules. But I don't use that anymore.
SPEAKER_01So I Now you're like to hell with it. I am going to speed. Oh, that's Kirken. I don't even care anymore. Whatever.
SPEAKER_02I genuinely I drive like 84. Nice. That's how I get here so fast. It should take me like 50 minutes, but I can get here in a half an hour.
SPEAKER_01Whatever gets you here faster.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So that's my beef. I uh and it has happened so frequently this week specifically. I don't know if it's just because I've been driving more, because I've been here three times now this week. Unless you count Sunday as the first day of the week, then I've only been here once. But you haven't been here that many times this week, have you? Well, I was here on Sunday and then Tuesday and now again on Sunday. Why are you here Tuesday? Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah. So I don't know if it's just I've been in traffic for this week, but man.
SPEAKER_01Plus, I have that like roundabout where nobody knows how to drive over there. So it's my beef of every single week is those damn roundabouts. Beef of every day.
SPEAKER_02Specifically the ones next to my house. I don't know how they do it in like Europe where they have it's just continuous roundabout. I don't know how they don't hit each other. It's crazy.
SPEAKER_01I think it's because we went from having no roundabouts to having roundabouts everywhere. So we didn't really like learn how to use them. They were just there. But not only are they there, they're like two, three lanes, and they don't there's no science to tell you how to do it. So you just kind of hope for the best. The three-lane roundabouts are they should be illegal. Okay, nobody knows how to use those. No, that doesn't matter. You have people who are trying to go in the middle and merge onto things while three other cars are trying it's it's not safe. It's so unsafe. I hate those. I am so defensive. I will not merge onto one of those two or three lanes unless there's like no cars in the middle because I know somebody's gonna hit me. I know how to use them, but they don't know how to use them.
SPEAKER_02I am not a defensive driver. I will literally I she'd be the one who hit me. She's the reason I wait. Because I know that I'm in the right. Like if it's my turn to yield, I will yield. She's the one in the right.
SPEAKER_01Do you remember when you almost hit that pedestrian crossing the road? There's a human. We were driving to Taco Bell, and somebody was crossing the road, and she was just going, and I was like, there's a human in the road.
SPEAKER_02Okay, in my defense, and then in that defense.
SPEAKER_01Same exact drive when we were at the Taco Bell that we were driving to. She ran over a curb. She ran over a curb going in the wrong way.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I have grown since then. I also was driving a different vehicle that I didn't necessarily care that much about. I mean, I cared about having a vehicle, but like just not things inside of it.
SPEAKER_01Nope, not you. So yeah, I I am a defensive driver because I don't want to die in a car. Or anybody I'm with to die in a car.
SPEAKER_02I don't want that either, but my thing, don't look at me like that. My thing is that if it happens, I know that it wasn't my fault.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, if you ran down that guy walking across the street, that would not have been your fault. You're right, you're right.
SPEAKER_02Retract that moment from my record.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02And curbs are just like they're there for the hot girls to hit. All right. Hot girls have hit a curb in my day. Many a curbs in my day. Yeah. Yeah. I'm a good driver. I've never had a ticket. I have gotten out of a lot of tickets. I've never gotten a ticket, except a parking ticket.
SPEAKER_01I have only been pulled over twice in my life. And one of them was my fault. Um, somebody, uh a cop pulled me over when I was three streets down from my house back when I was living in Ohio. Um, and then called back up and then came to me with his gun drawn, and he was like, Why does your license plate not match your car? And I was like, I don't know. Like this is my car. My dad is um my dad owns a car dealership and I got it from him.
SPEAKER_00I was like, I can call the owner of the car dealership to prove that this is my car.
SPEAKER_01And then it turns out he put in my driver's license number, my license plate wrong. So it didn't match. He just did it wrong and he almost shot me. And it was inclusive. When the whole BLM movement was going on because so many people of color were getting shot, and he it was a white cop. I'm like a person of color, and he has his gun on me with like three other cops behind him, and my mom is like on my lawn, like, why are they stopping you? And I was like, they think I stole my car.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, that's crazy. That's insane. That could be my beef of every day. I got pulled over once because I was speeding. Yeah, actually, twice now because I I was speeding. My other Which checks out, but I didn't get a ticket for it.
SPEAKER_01The other time I was pulled over was because I did I made a right turn in a construction zone where you Usually you can make the right turn, but because it was during construction, you couldn't, and I didn't see the sign that said you couldn't. So I that I did deserve that because I should have been ready reading the signs that were next time.
SPEAKER_02For sure I deserved to get pulled over. I was speeding. I was breaking the law. That's fine. So but one time I got pulled over just because I think a cop was suspicious of me. I think he just wanted I think he just wanted some excitement because it was when I first moved um in with Jason. I was bringing home bringing some of my stuff back um from my old apartment. And I uh didn't have insurance at the time. My insurance had lapsed, so I was driving really carefully. I was paranoid about wherever the cops were, and I live right next to like a state police department. So um, so I was driving back and uh I actually was on a phone call with my friend at the time, and I was like, Oh, there's a cop behind me. I'm gonna like just turn into the subdivision and pull around so that he's not behind me. So I'm not sure. Were you like talking on your phone like that? No, okay, nope, because let's say that's probably why I pulled you.
SPEAKER_01I know I know it's illegal. Um it is in Michigan. Yes, um that's a new law. It's of like two years ago.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's like hands-off law or something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're not allowed to even be talking on the phone anymore.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So I uh changed lanes, turned my blinker on, pulled into the subdivision, and this cop followed me. And he finally he he pulled me over and he was like, Hey, uh, do you know why I pulled you over today? And I was like, No, because I hadn't done anything wrong. And he was like, Well, you didn't use your turn signal to merge lanes. And I was like, Okay, I did. But but I think that I mean, it's more suspicious when there's a cop behind you to like divert your Yeah, he definitely pulled you over because he said diverted. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He knew that I was trying to avoid him, and so he like ran my information. He was like, you know, license registration insurance. Luckily, I had insurance paperwork from when the last time that I had reinstated my insurance. So I was like, I'm so sorry, officer. I can't find my proof of insurance, but I have all this paperwork like showing that I have insurance. And so he came back and he was like, Okay, um, you know, I just you know, remember to use your insurance signal, and also you might want to call your insurance agent because it's saying that you don't have insurance, but I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt. And I was like, Thank you. And then I went home and reinstated my insurance. White privilege. Literally, oh my god. No, I won't even.
SPEAKER_00She doesn't have insurance, and it's just I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt. He puts in my license plate wrong, and I get a gun pulled on me. This isn't right here. I'm so sorry. Literally breaks the law on me, doesn't do anything wrong and has a gun in my face.
SPEAKER_02I'm so sorry that that happened to you.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, it's not funny.
SPEAKER_02Okay, it's funny. Oh my gosh. So anyway, my beef of the week is bad driver's day, even though apparently I have been one a time or two in my day.
SPEAKER_01My new beef of the week again, please. This just reminded me that they're my beefs still.
SPEAKER_02That's so funny.
SPEAKER_00I think that's it. I think that was it. I think we ended it on a good point.
SPEAKER_02I think we did.
unknownThat's funny.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. That's your only note in this entire episode. Earrings.
unknownOkay.
