Hisbonenus talking points:

The נפש הבהמית, described in Tanya as being in the blood, is not bad—just natural. Just like animals are not bad, my drives are raw energy that need direction, not suppression.

Life is a mixed bag; the same inner forces can either elevate me or pull me down. The עבודה is not to eliminate them, but to guide them toward something higher.

Fire is the only element that naturally rises, and within me this shows up as anger and arrogance. When I feel anger rising, I can recognize it as a movement of ego trying to lift itself up.

As explained in Shaarei Kedusha, arrogance leads to resentment, a desire for honor, and even hatred of those greater than me. When I notice these feelings, I can trace them back to ego and choose a different response.

Hey, good morning. Welcome back after Pesach to our uh Learning Plus is Binding Us. Um has any feedback or thoughts or suggestions on how we can do this better? Uh please share. Okay, we are in Pedagolif. We'll first go through a couple thoughts in Tanya Pedagolif, and then we will do a short section from Kesselman's review on his bionus, guide for his bionus, and then we'll have five minutes of quiet time for his bayonus. So we are in Pedagal of Tanya. We went for the introduction, we're sitting here with the Balatanya, we're sitting here with the Al Tadeba, it's personal, and he's talking to us. And he's introducing to us Rub Kaim Vital's opinion, khidish, that there's two souls, there's two nafsamas inside of us. The nafchalakis and the nafshamas. So we're talking about the nafsha Bahamas, the animal soul, so it's actually pratist. The lesson of the Tanya is midoy to rois, bad midus. So I just wanted to like find out what does the word royce mean? What does bad mean in Hebrew, the origins of the Hebrew word of Royce? So interestingly, so I I think I heard about Y Jacobson. Someone was sending a clip. He said, from the Middle Austrianer, the UAKY unstable. So actually, I I I looked around and and it doesn't I was not able to find Makitus and even in Spadim that that use this term, because they're similar, and it could be there's uh legitimacy to that uh connection, but the Modern Navuch and they're not the the Ram and this Mida um is Halek Gimmel, and BC, he understands their is heather, so it's not in negativity, it's just lacking positive focus. And the the example of Tanya over here is we're dealing with a behema, an animal. Animals are not bad inherently, they're just other, it's like clip, but it's like a shell. It's it's just covering up. The shell's not bad, Aldenabba. The shell is good, it's helping. Um then the Alden bit gets into the first of the four Y Sidus foundations of the physical world, which is Hmai Muffer. And we'll start talking about the first one, H. So interestingly, H is the only Ustoid in this world that doesn't just sit there, it goes up. And that's in the negative. There's also positives to these four elements. The negative in them in the Nefesh is two points the Altadaba makes. Anger and arrogance. And the Altadaba highlights the fire going above as the um component of the fire that we're focusing on. But really, the Debba Dashab and one of his Bamadab points out that the Altadaba is referring when he talks about the going above, that's that's the arrogance, which really that is as well points out, that's like the root arrogance leads to the anger. And the anger is how dare you! Um special person, I'm the smartest guy around, I know everything. How dare you do something to me? So the component of fire that it rises up, that's the arrogance. The heat of the fire, that's costs. We have the heat, and we have which is the arrogance, and we have the which is the anger, the arrogance leads to the resentment. Okay, we'll circle back to some of his minimalist talking points in a minute. A lot to process and reflect on. But just to work on his mindiness from a play with M. Kesselman, putting from the Bashab encounters at Tula, page 12, and he says two points. While we're we call this the boininus gym, where we're practicing how to do his pointness. Really, the ideal time for his botanos is before divining. Various reasons that maybe we'll get into. Um, and the point of his bindingness is not to study the mimer, it's to reflect on the mimer. So we're exercising our skills, which is always a good time to do a spinless, but particularly before divining, it's a it's an extra special time. Okay, I'm gonna share my screen here for some let's say uh his body must talking points. Give me a second. So we mentioned that we're talking about the Nefesha Bahamas. Ra doesn't mean essentially evil as many people would think. Ra can mean just the heather, a lack of Nefesha Bahamas is an animal, animals are not bad. It's teva, it's natural, nefesha tivis. Um, they can be directed towards bad, they can be directed to good, they can be, you know, um it's not it's not inherently bad. The heat of the fire refers to anger. What leads to that is the fire rising up, which is the ego, the arrogance, the self-centeredness. The goal of of connecting Telekus to come more Hashem-centered, other person-centered, not self-centered. Interestingly, in this week's the Kate Taida, Harshas Um Tazidiya, the beautiful mimer. The whole first mimer is about sempha. And as you mentioned, that or one of the first beginning of Petagalf talks about how one should one should um it can't be that a certain Tyra idea will bring to feeling bad and lowly. The whole point of of Taida is is is if there was a champagne. That's that's uh that's a one of the points that makes is that the study of simcha is biddle. So if you work, we work on our becoming less self-centered, it will lead to our our simcha as well, and lots of good things. Um so we want to work on our not viewing ourselves as inherently bad, um and focusing on our arrogance and anger, and how we want to um identify that as not being something which is in line with Kidosha to tame the animal. Okay, I will put on a timer and we will reflect and be misboyne on some of those concepts, and feel free to follow the ideas wherever they take you. Thank you very much for joining us. Have a wonderful service. As I shame, starting next week, um we will be having a a Sedanagunam at one o'clock.
