SPEAKER_01

Good afternoon, and welcome to Healing Stream Waters Daily Doses. Thanking God for another day, another opportunity to share his word with you. I'm going to be reading today from Hebrews, the fourth chapter, and the first and the second verse. And it states, Let us therefore fear lest a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them. But the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. And the topic that I want to leave with you today is the main ingredient. And so we know from this scripture, it's talking about the word of God and how, you know, everybody at one time or another have heard, thus say the Lord. Whether it's his written word or whether it's his rhyming word, which is the alive right now word, the word that is due season. But the Bible says they didn't mix it with faith. My mother used to make rolls, and in um her making rolls, she had all the ingredients that she needed to make the roll. But it was one main ingredient that she needed in order for the rolls to rise, and that was called yeast. Some are all purpose flowers, but then there are some flowers that the um it's written on there self-rising flour. Now that flour you don't use to fry chicken, to fry pork chop or to make gravy because why I say make gravy, my mother used to, when she wanted gravy and the thickness of it, she'll add a little flour to her water or the stock at the bottom of the pan to make it thick until you have thick gravy. You don't need self-rising flour to do that. You will use self-rising flour if you was making uh baking a cake or something that needed to rise, and that's that portion was in that yeast because that's what made her rolls rise. She would knead it with her hands, but and let it sit. It'll start off, it didn't look like what it did when it finished, but after so long a time, that uh that ingredients would rise because of the yeast. When she put it in the pan, it was flat. But once she let it sit after she got finished mixing, that yeast rolled. And then she was able to take out piece by piece and roll it into a round uh pattern, and that will become her rolls, and she will put them in a pan, um, in her baking pan. And it's the same way with the word, you can have scriptures, you can have I won't even say knowledge, because knowledge and information is two different things, so you can have all this information of what you need to make some roles. However, if you don't put the main ingredient in it, it will not rise. And so even with the word of God, you can have the word, you can find faith. Faith is what makes the word work. The scripture in Hebrews 4 says they all heard the word, they heard it, we heard it, but they didn't mix it in them. You can hear a good sermon, you can even enjoy the good sermon, being cited against uh with the sermon, you can even have in your mind of what you're going to do after the sermon is over. But my sisters and my brothers, let me tell you, if you don't mix the word with faith, you will not, as the Bible says, you won't enter into the rest that God has prepared for those that love him. It's a work that's required. No, you can't work upon salvation. Salvation is given. Salvation was an exchange that God, uh, because he so loved us, he gave his only begotten son. That if we believe on him, we won't perish, but will have everlasting life. That was the great exchange. But for us, because he has given us salvation and faith through his name, that means we have to put the work in. If we believe we're gonna behave you uh and faith is provoked by love, and we know that without faith, it's impossible to please God because we that come to God must believe first that he is God and that he is rewarder of those that diligently seek him. The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ, but the gospel didn't come without works, he gave that's an action verb. He gave his only begotten son, and he, although he was a sacrifice, he could have made a choice that I'm not gonna do this, but he didn't, he didn't come off the cross, he didn't stop all that was done to him. The Bible says he could have called a legion of angels, but because he was intentional, because he was purposeful, because he was manifested to the destroyed works of the devil, not for him, but for us. And the same word, his same testimony, we ought to remember. That's why when we take communion, it says, as often as we do it, do it in remembrance of him. Remembrance of what that he came, he he was born, he died, he went to the cross and was rose again, but that was all in the process and the uh the purpose of why he came. He came to redeem us back to where we had fell from what original intent of God from here for human mankind to have. He said in Genesis, be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth. Have dominion. But we know what happened in the garden. However, Jesus came and he took on sin, he knew no sin, but because of us, he took on sin and became sin so that he can curse it on the cross. The word says, uh, curse is every man that hangs on a cross, but he, because it was a perfect sacrifice, he took on what was supposed to be ours and belief in him, in his name, in the work of the cross. That's why we have to mix it with faith. We cannot just know why he came or the story, the whole story of him coming. We have to believe in the story that he done it for you and I, and that there is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved, but the name of Jesus. So faith, mix it with the word. Yeah, everybody can tell of their own account of the Lord, but you have to mix it with faith. And how we mix it with faith, he said, love your enemy, pray for them that spitefully use you, bless them that curse you. The 12th chapter Romans say, If your enemy hunger, feed him, if he thirst, give him drink, because in so doing, you will heap coals of fire on his head. That's the work part, that's the main ingredient. Knowing that I've got to believe, I've got to believe, I got to have faith in the finished work of the cross. He was like a dumb sheep before her chairs. He opened not his mouth, he didn't have anything to prove, he just needed to redeem, he just needed to settle it, and that he did. I know. He said, No man take my life. I got power to lay it down, and I got power to take it up again. I know what I came for, I'm determined, I'm focused, I'm I'm laid focused, I'm set on the prompt, the promises, and the purpose that I came to earth to do because this earth is not my home. I'm going back where I came from. I just came to set the record straight, he said. The devil don't, yes, he the prince of the of the world, but God owns everything, it's nothing that was made that wasn't made by him, and then we just believe that if we mix it, put the main ingredient in it, make sure we have love, we have faith, but let it be provoked by love, the love of God, because you can have different kinds of love, but only the love of God will get you through the things that you need to go through. Love hoping for, love believing all, love endures all, it's not puffed up, it doesn't rejoice in the iniquity, it rejoices in the truth. So when we put all those ingredients together, but at the end of the day, we must have faith in Jesus Christ. You can have faith in a lot of things, a lot you can have faith in the chair that you sit in, you can have faith in well, some of us take. We don't question, we just sit and be comfortable. But faith in Jesus Christ, the author and the finisher of our faith. Don't forget, you get that spoon and you you stir all your ingredients up: love, patience, long suffering, joy, faith, goodness. Don't forget to stir it. And out of all that getting, get an understanding, mix it with faith. You can hear the word, but you got to do something about it. Again, this is healing stream waters with your daily dosage. Get the main ingredient. God loves you, I love you, and there's nothing you can do about it.
