If It's The Lord's Will

Good afternoon and welcome to Healing Stream Waters Daily Doses. I pray all is well with you and yours. I want to read in your hearing today the fourth chapter of James, starting at the 13th verse to the 15th. And it reads as such, Go to now ye say that today or tomorrow we will go into such a city and continue there a year and buy and sell and get gain. Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow, for what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. For that ye ought to say, if the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that. And the topic that I want to leave with you today is if it's the Lord's will is all in God's hand, I will do this or that. I was often told um make your plans but hold them loosely because we know life is only a vapor. You're here today. We used to say gone tomorrow, but you can be gone this very day. You don't know what you're going to encounter, even what when you step out your door each morning. Things can change within a very small amount of time. So it's imperative that we put in our vocabulary that if it's the Lord's will, we'll do this or that. Are you ready for whatever the this or that is? Are you prepared? Life is full of swift transitions, and the songwriter saying, So build your hopes on things eternal. Hold to God's unchanging head. Everything must change, will change. The only thing that doesn't change is God and the things that God put in order. Do you have your life in order? Do you have your inferiors in order? If you leave out today or tomorrow, it's no guarantee that you would return. And so that's part of preparation. Doing it before time, doing it ahead of time. Um there's no guarantees in life, but we should say, if it's the Lord's will, I want to do this, I want to go here, as the Bible says, you want to go to another town and start over and live and get gain, and you know, all this that's in our minds, but it's only if it's the Lord's will. He has control of life, he has control of breath, he can speak man live, he can speak man die. And so we ought to live each day as it is our last. Because we really don't know. It's a viper, your life is a vapor, here today, gone today, and so preparing even if you have loved ones left behind, even if you have children, have your things in order. The Bible says God gives us everything that pertains to life and godliness. He gives us the know-how, he gives us the empowerment, he equips us for whatever we need to handle in a day. And when you prepare, sometimes we're preparing for events, or we're preparing for challenges. Are you prepared for your detours? Or will your detour shake you? Will it catch you off guard? Will it cause you to go into an area mentally that you're not prepared for? Preparation is mentally and time houses in order. I'm not talking about your physical house, I'm talking about your affairs mentally, um, spiritually. Do you know where you will spend eternity? Um, will it be life with Jesus eternally, or will you spend it eternally in damnation? Because whether we believe it or not, there is a heaven and a hell. Some of us are living in hell now with the things that we're going through, and it's not because uh, as some believers would think, that it's just the devil is sometimes just for lack of preparation. Take each day as it comes, focus on one part of your life, your mind. The Negro College fun, the theme says a mind is terrible, um thing to waste, and it is, especially when you have things in front of you. You may not know it. We often say there's no dumb question. So even if it's something that you don't know, ask somebody. Don't let your pride get in the way. Be open, be honest. If you don't know how to do it, just raise your hand and say, I don't know how. Is it something that you don't know? Just raise your other hand, I don't know. Somebody somewhere knows something about what you don't know, and mainly God. He knows something about everything, and he can handle it. He's near to us, he's near to our tongue, he's near to the brokenhearted. It's nothing that God won't help you in. I'm a firm believer, I'm an eyewitness, I'm a not only and my eyewitness, I've experienced some things. You don't know have to know everything, but know somebody that do, and that's God. And with your fellowship, your network, it's your net worth. He didn't he didn't make us to be idols, he didn't make us to stand alone. In a multitude of counselors, there is safety. You can find safety amongst people. Get amongst people, let your pride go and ask for help. In a multitude of counselors, there is safety. What you don't know, somebody else might do. Two is better than one any day, because if one falls down, the other can lift them up. Life is a favor, and it's God's will. If it's God's will, I'm gonna do this and that or that. My life, our life is in God's hand. The rain came, the wind blew, but my house was built on you. I'm safe with you, God, and I'm gonna make it through. Why? Because Christ is my firm foundation, my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and his righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but I wholly lean on Jesus' name. It's all Christ's holiday. Rock I stand, all other grounds is sinking sand. So people of God, children of God, my brother, my sister, life is full of swift transitions. So we ought to say if it's the Lord's will, I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna do that. Don't take things for granted because nothing is promised to you. Gravitate, meditate, maximize everything that is in front of you while this day is called today. Because tomorrow is not promised to you. Again, this is healing stream waters daily doses. God loves you, and there's nothing you can do about it.
