What Must I Do To Be Saved

Good afternoon and welcome to Healing Stream Waters Daily Dosage. It's a privilege to be here in the land of the living. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. His word still holds true today as it did by the back then. His word is forever settled in the heavens. And I have hid the word in my heart so that I will not sin against him. Today I'm going to be sharing from the 16th chapter of Acts, starting at the 16th verse, and I'm going down unto the 33rd verse. And it reads as thus. And it came to pass as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by sooth saying. The same followed Paul and us and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shoe unto us the way of salvation. And this she did many days. But Paul being grieved turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. And when her master saw that the hope of their gains were gone, they caught Paul in silence and drew them into the marketplace unto the rules and brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men being Jews do exceedingly trouble our city and teach customs which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe being Romans. And the multitude rose up together against them, and the magistrates rent off their clothes and commanded to beat them. And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely. Who had received such a charge thrust them into the inner prison and made their feet fast in the sock. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God, and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and immediately the doors were opened, and everyone was loose. And the keeper of the prison awaken out of his sleep and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm, for we are all here. Then he called for a light and sprang in and came trembling and fell down before Paul in silence and brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and was baptized, he and all his straightway. And what I wanted to leave with you today is the 30th verse of the 16th chapter of Acts. And it says, And they brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And so in reading this chapter, I begin to get an aha moment. I begin to really uh focus on what was done in those first in those verses. It started off with uh a damsel who made her uh owner's money, and but it was the spirit in her that was aggravating Paul, and she did it for many days because whether you know the demons know who God is, and he knows in whose spirit the Lord dwells, and he will activate your eyeballs, and Paul let it go on for certain days, but after a while he turned around and said, I command you, because she was saying, These are the men of the most high God who will show us the way to salvation. The devil knows a lot of times we don't know, but the devil knows it's his job to stop us in doing what is right and pleasing in God's sight. But Paul he let it go on for a certain time, and then he turned around and said, Enough is enough in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Come out of her. She was saying the right things, but the spirit in which she was saying it in, it was antagonizing, it was mocking, saying the right things, but coming from a wrong motive or wrong place. But he turned around and commanded that that spirit come out of her, and because the her owners saw that that when he cast that spirit out, they lost their game, they lost their ways of prospering, so they took them to the magistrates um and told that they were preaching and teaching things that were not lawful for Romans, and they were commanded to be put in prison, and the jailer, because of such uh price that he had on his hand, his obligation was a hard one. He was to keep Paul and Silas safe, and so he put them into the inner jail and fastened their feet, so you can't get out. And we know when we think about Jesus being put in that tomb and a great stone was rolled. They tried to put the best and the most thing that they know was secure, but how many of you know God is not bound? No stone, no stocks, no chains, you cannot bind the spirit of Christ. I don't care what you put ahead of it in front of it to try to block it in and try to keep people from saying what does say the Lord. You can't fight a spirit that you don't see. And so at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed, they were on their way to prayer from the beginning when that girl started aggravating them, but they didn't stop their praise, they didn't stop their prayer because we know prayer is a key to the kingdom, and faith will unlock the door. My mother would say to us, When you can't do anything else, she says, Send it up. That means send your prayer request uh up to God, your pretension, whatever you're asking, because prayer goes beyond walls, it goes beyond, it don't have to have no door, it can go through the door. Prayer is international, you can't stop prayer, and when you pray to God and you give him his praises, something is going to happen. So at midnight, well, Paul and Silas prayed. God sent an earthquake. You can't bind God, he sent an earthquake, and what the earthquake did, it took the chains off of everybody. That was hallelujah. He took the chains off of everybody, all the prisoners that was in that jail that day. When we praise, when we pray, God was set in ambush against ah, I thank you, God, what against whatever that's holding you fast. You don't even have to have a key to unlock it. The word of God, because it's power within itself, it will unlock your chain. Jesus said, I've been anointed to preach the gospel of peace to set the captives free. And in that scripture, Paul and Silas, because of their prayer, because of their praise, but because of their lifestyle, everybody that was around them was set free. The jailer rose up, scared, took out his sword, ready to kill himself. But Paul said with a loud voice, don't do it, we are all here. And he came falling at Paul's feet, and his question was, What must I do to be saved? What have you been given the given? Are you able to persuade people? Because when you got what the power in you that's of God, it's gonna cause people to ask, What must I be saved on their own accord? You don't have to browbeat, pressure people, it's the goodness of the Lord that brings about a repentance. He fell down, he watched their wounds, he took care of them, but still after that, Paul and Silas didn't preach or didn't stop. They kept on, they preached the word to that jailer, and that jailer was saved. And not only that, after that he uh believed they baptized him, not only him, he though his house had the word preached to them and baptized. The Bible says that the Holy Ghost was given not only to you, but to your children. The promises given to your children and to your children's children and to those that are afar off that God will call. And so, in the beginning in Genesis, he said, Be fruitful and multiply. So, whatever we have is supposed to be on and on and on, because multiplication of dominion, fruitfulness is in the plan, is in the market of plan, it's in what God ordained for us to do from the very beginning, and Satan is still trying to make us not prosper, but the devil is a lie. Jesus said on the cross, it's finished, he took care of that, and we have a right back to the tree of life. Are you persuasive? Do you have enough in you that you can cause people to say, What must I do to be saved? I thank God, I praise God for salvation because it's more than saving from hellfire, it's salvation and soul. It means that we have life, we have the things that pertaining to life. We have all the benefits, pray and praise, and cause people to say, What must us I do to be saved? Are you persuasive? Can you persuade somebody? Are you even convinced? We have to have enough where we convince others that God is true and that every man be a lie. God will protect you, he'll provide for you, he'll go before you, he'll be a rearer, he'll protect you on the left and on the right, as long as we stay under his wing. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high God shall abide under the shadows of the Almighty. Then this is healing stream waters, daily dosage. What must we do to be saved? He says, Save yourself because of this untoward generation. Listen, God loves you. I love you, and there's nothing that you can do about it.
