Good afternoon, and welcome to Hill and String Waters Daily Dosage. It's good to be here thanking God for his mercy, his grace, and his love toward us. I'm going to be reading today a very familiar passage of scripture, and that is Psalms 51 in its entirety. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness, according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies. Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only have I sinned and done this evil in thy sight, that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest and be clear when thou judges. Behold, I was shaping in the iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean. Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones which thou hast broken may be joice. Hide thy face from me. Hide thy face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways, and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. For thou didst not sacrifice, else would I give it. You desire not sacrifice, else would I give it. Thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart. Oh God, thou wilt not despise. Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion. Build thou the walls of Jerusalem. Then shall thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness with burnt offering and with whole burnt offering. Then shall they offer bullocks upon the altar. And the thought that I want to leave with you on this afternoon, our God, He's just. And if you don't know what just means, I will give you a definition that I have gotten. Just means He's fair, He's righteous, and it's in conformity with God's standard of truth and holiness. So his just is according to his standards and his holiness. And so the background of this scripture is the story of David and Bathsheba. And so while the men was at war, David the King was standing on his balcony looking over at a woman bathing. Now, mind you, this woman was the wife of somebody. But by him being a king and in authority, David did what he wanted to do. So he desired this woman and he sent for this woman while her husband was at war, while her husband was, you know, he was doing it in honor and respect for the king. He left his wife at home and went to war for Israel. Now you would think of anybody that the king will reverence that, will consider that, will respect that, but no, out of his lust, David took another man's wife. And in doing so, this woman came impregnated. So to cover the sin, which we can't cover the sin with another sin. David called for her husband because he was trying to cover up that she was pregnant. So he wanted her husband to sleep with his wife, and perhaps if he did that, his sin would be covered, he thought. But he lost his life because the king was trying to cover a sin. Your sin, you can't cover, and it's going to come be made manifest. So after that, the child was born, but the child was sick, and so David fasted. He just laid before God. Perhaps that you know God is uh would save the child. But how many know the word says that no sin shall go unpunished? The child wasn't sin, the child didn't do anything, it was the sin of the father, and God said he will visit the iniquity of the father to the third and fourth generation. So that we do as parents, we have to be so mindful because it can carry on into our next generation, whether it's our children or our children's children will catch it, but it will go down because God said so. So this psalm was birthed out of that. David didn't sin against man, he didn't sin against Bathsheba. David sinned against God, and we have to realize because God is the lawgiver, it's not what we do to people, it's what we do to God. God says, Do not commit adultery, God says, do not kill. And both of those things David did as a king, but he said, Have mercy on me, oh God, according to thy loving kindness, and thou tend the mercy. He wanted God to blot out his transgression. Transgression is sin, and so we he knew that I did this against you and you only, God, and only you can deliver me. They didn't want to tell David the bad news that the child had died because he was fasting and praying and laying before God. But then when he asked them what's the matter, and they told him, he got up, washed, changed his clothes, and and ate. And they didn't realize, they was wondering, well, when the child was sick, you you cut off all the world, but now that you got the word that he's died. Now you get up because David said he didn't know whether God was saved, but he had to go until he had an answer. Just because we're in dire strait, just because the situation looked bad, we still pray until God answers. My mother had a saying, don't change horses in the midst of a stream. Go until you hear pass or fail. When he found out that the child was dead, David got up and went back until his daily life business. But his the song that he wrote, blot out my transgression, create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me, because we know in the flesh it dwells no good thing. He's asked God to wash him thoroughly, thoroughly, and if you wash me, I shall be whiter than snow. Can't nobody wash you like God, like his word, his word is like full of soul, it will wash you, it will make you clean from the inside and out, and we need to stay before God that he will wash us and create in us a clean heart after God, because the heart is is evil, the heart will make us do things that's not pleasing to God because the heart wants what the heart wants. But David asked him, Don't take your Holy Spirit from me. He knew that if God left him, that it would be nothing that he can do. You don't want God to take his presence from you, you don't want to be in the state where God used to be. As with Samson, he kept playing around, playing with fire. We know that if you keep playing with fire, you're gonna get burnt. Kept playing around, kept playing around till one day he let Delilah vex him so much that he gave up his secret to where his strength lies. And then he went to sleep on her. She already told him, Tell me your secret, so I can bind you to afflict you. Now, ain't that something? She told him what she was going to do to him, and he played right into his head. Don't play with the devil. Don't compromise, because you will wind up being on the outside looking in. David asked, Don't take your spirit from me. He knew that if God walked away, if God turned his back, he would have been in a world of trouble. Restore unto me, that's what David asked, the joy of thy salvation. We know that the joy of the Lord is our strength, and without God's strength, we can't make it through life. The joy of the Lord is our strength. The wine is sang a song that said that, show me someone without strength, and I'll show you someone without joy. We need God's joy because that is one of the fruit of the spirit. Joy. We're not asking for happiness because happiness is predicated upon the happiness, but in joy, no matter whether we be up or down, in or out, whatever is going on, I still have joy. You can still have joy. The joy of the Lord is your strength. He said that I would teach transgressors thy way. The Bible says in the book of John that once you have been converted, go strengthen your brethren. So once you've been delivered, once you've been healed, once you've been set free, tell the transgressor, tell somebody about your God. Don't take your Holy Spirit away from me. I can't make it without it. I can't even walk without you holding my hand. I just want to say, no matter how low you go, no matter what sin you commit, God is a just God, but it's according to his righteousness, his holiness, and his truth. So there may be times that yes, we all sin and come short of the glory of God. And then we want God to answer prayers. God's going to answer according to his standards. He is just and he is fair. So if he doesn't answer your prayer, it doesn't mean that he didn't hear you. Some things is just not for you at the moment. The Bible says that when the time is right, the Lord will make it happen. And if you are in your emotions, if you're in self and you're in place in your flesh, I mean, some things God will not answer. Delay doesn't mean deny, and not now doesn't mean never. God is just, He's fair, He's holy, He's omnipotent, He's omnipresent, He's omniscient. Thank God for being a God of all things, all creation. Wasn't nothing made that wasn't made by Him. This is healing Stream Waters, daily doses. Go with God. He loves you, I love you, and there's nothing you can do about it.
