What’s a Hope Midwife?
Just like a midwife helps bring new life into the world, a Hope Midwife helps you bring new hope to life—especially when you’re tired, stuck, or starting over.
New episodes help you breathe, rebuild, and take your next step—one steady day at a time.

Workplace Overwhelm Reset
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Today’s intention is:
“I choose steady focus. I will do the next right thing—gently.”
And I want to share something that poured into me today—
I attended a virtual tea event with Mayakia Anderson inside The Tea House on https://www.skool.com/the-tea-house-2336, and it reminded me that sometimes the reset we need isn’t dramatic… it’s a pause, a warm cup, and a moment of community. So we’re bringing that same energy into this episode.
Today’s tea is green tea—steady focus, gentle energy.
Tea Disclaimer: For comfort only—not medical advice. Check safety with your provider if needed.
Take a sip and ask yourself one calming question:
“What is the next right thing… not everything?”
Workplace overwhelm is real
Workplace overwhelm doesn’t mean you’re weak.
It often means you’re carrying too much with too little support—and still expected to perform like you’re fine.
Signs you’re overloaded can look like: brain fog, tension headaches, irritability, trouble sleeping, feeling behind no matter how hard you work, or feeling like you can’t breathe deeply.
So today I’m giving you a simple reset you can do at your desk, in the restroom, in your car, or even in a hallway—quietly, gently, without counting.
The desk reset (2 minutes)
If you can, place both feet on the ground. Let your hands relax. Unclench your jaw. Drop your shoulders.
Breathe in… nice and easy… soft pause… now breathe out… even slower.
Again… in… soft pause… out… longer.
Now say quietly:
“Pause… breathe… keep going… gently.”
Three hope sentences for hard workdays
When pressure rises, borrow one of these sentences:
- “I can do the next right thing.”
- “I don’t have to do everything at once.”
- “My value is not measured by my output.”
Pick the one you need most today. Say it again slowly.
The 4 D’s (reduce the load)
When tasks pile up, use the 4 D’s to reduce overwhelm:
- Do — handle what must be done today.
- Delay — schedule what can wait.
- Delegate — ask for support when possible.
- Delete — let go of what isn’t necessary.
Friend, sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do at work… is simplify.
Micro-boundaries at work (what to say)
Here are scripts you can use without sounding harsh:
- “I’m at capacity. What’s the priority?”
- “What’s the deadline, and what can move?”
- “I can do A today. B will need to wait.”
- “Can we put this in an email so I can plan it correctly?”
Meeting and email protection
If meetings drain you, try:
“I can stay for the first 15 minutes, then I have to step out.”
If email is overwhelming, try:
“I received this. I’ll respond by [time/day].”
This protects you
